Managing Thought Leads To Being Thankful - Even In The Midst Of Tough Times
Mary Lore, CEO of Managing Thought LLC and author of Managing Thought: How Do Your Thoughts Rule Your World?, proposes that thankfulness is one of the quickest and most powerful ways to create positive direction and powerful change in our lives.
[ November 23, 2009 Detroit MI ] As we approach the holiday season, America faces some very difficult circumstances: unemployment, bankruptcy, tightening credit, loss of benefits, layoffs, small business closings, furloughs, reduced pay - or perhaps simply trying to make ends meet.
Many people are wondering how to be thankful this Thanksgiving season while in the midst of such tough times. “Practicing thankfulness is one of the most powerful ways to bring about a change in our circumstances,” says Mary J. Lore, author of the multiple award-winning book and audio book Managing Thought: How Do Your Thoughts Rule Your World?.
“During difficult times, we may find ourselves struggling with thoughts of fear, self-doubt, worry, anger and depression. Besides negatively impacting our health and vitality, these thoughts don’t move us in a direction that serves our purpose -- in fact, they make matters worse.”
"One of the quickest and most powerful ways to create a change in our circumstances is to practice thinking thoughts of thankfulness," Lore says. Lore states that thankfulness is one of the highest levels of consciousness, giving us the ability to see the myriad of possibilities, discover what we truly want, receive ideas on what to do next, and create and realize a vision for the future.
“When we practice thankfulness, a physical and mental transformation occurs. Our brains begin perceiving even more to be thankful for. We find ourselves focusing on our strengths. We’re smiling. Our spine straightens. The muscles in our face and neck relax and our breaths deepen. Our creative juices begin to flow and we get creative ideas on how to turn our situation around and move in a direction that inspires us."
Lore conducts workshops across North America as founder and president of Managing Thought, LLC, which helps individuals and organizations develop self-awareness and change how they think to attain long-lasting success.
She offers the following advice to practice thinking thoughts of thankfulness. Lore says that thankfulness takes practice, and just one of these practices brings dramatic improvement in our lives, our families, and our organizations.
1. List everything you are thankful for -- in your life, career, family, relationships, your body and its functionality, your strengths and skills, your
values and personality, your home. If you are a business, list everything you are thankful for with your customers, suppliers, investors, employees, the industry, and specific customers, suppliers, investors and employees. Be sure to find something to be thankful for with respect to what you may be most unhappy about. If we hold contempt for anything we wish to change, we actually block our ability to change it.
2. At the end of each day, work backward and think of everything you are thankful for from that day. Our spirits are lifted when we are appreciative of even the smallest things.
3. Take note of what you are thankful for throughout the day—before or after a conversation, a telephone call, a meeting or a new task, and be thankful for each experience.
4. When you catch yourself thinking a worry, self-doubt, anger or other self-defeating thoughts, take a deep breath, first exhaling deeply, and ask yourself “What can I be thankful for in this moment?”
5. See what happens.

Emmanuel Opiah's New Book Details How Barack Obama’s Rise To Presidency Brings New Hope To The Whole World. The Author Will Appear On The Christian Authors Show Radio On November 25 and 26, 2009
Author Emmanuel Opiah believes that Barack Obama is being led by God to bring new hope to the world. His new release, How Barack Obama’s Rise To Presidency Brings New Hope To The Whole World offers hope to the warring factions that matters could be resolved peacefully.
"Adverse publicity about President Barack Obama will not stop the Lord God Almighty Who made it possible for him to be there to keep helping him. Earlier on this year Arizona State University was to award President Barack Obama an honorary degree. The US media including CNN talked them out of it with their negative publicity. God showed America that He is in control and the Nobel Peace Price was awarded to the President, a higher honor than the former. This took the whole world by surprise; the US media could not stop it and could do nothing about it but complain thereafter. This was God in action."
"The former First Lady Laura Bush had commented in an interview a few weeks ago that President Barack Obama is doing well. She added that we must not forget the fact that he took on a lot as he began his presidency. In addition the press, in using Mr. Steel to run adverse comments about the President will only make the President rise higher in the sight of God and the world as God had elected him for a purpose."
In his new book, the author takes us through Barack Obama’s race to the White House. His message “Yes we can” was also taken to the whole world which aims to inspire and encourage a new generation, in particular African Americans, to believe in themselves and in each other. The author reveals how God demonstrated His power at different stages of the race while pointing out to us that, “He would take Barack Obama’s right hand and say to him ‘fear not I will help you.’” He enunciates how the Almighty God warned that America and the world should be still and know that He is God and that He created all men equal. Barack Obama’s religious standing, as portrayed by the author, shows his deep rooted adherence to Jesus’ teachings, “bless those who curse you, pray for those who spitefully use you and be your brothers’ keeper.”
“I believe that the Lord God Almighty led me to warn America to be still and know that He is God. He is still in control. In my latest book I also showed how those who undermined God paid the penalty. If someone had told America at the start of the war in Afghanistan that they would still be there today they would not have believed this. Nemesis will always catch up with those who think they are greater than God and who run adverse publicity on President Barack Obama.”
The book is available at the author’s website at www.eopiah.com, at Amazon.com, AbeBooks.com, Alibris.com and at many other online bookstores. The author is available for interview and can be reached using the information below. Mr. Opiah will be appearing on The Christian Authors Show Radio on November 25 and 26 at www.TheChristianAuthorsShow.com. Mr. Opiah can be reached by email at opiahmanny@aol.com.

Just In Time for National Suicide Survivor Day, November 21: Educator/Child Advocate Helps Educators and Family Foster Children's Self-Worth
U.N.I.Q.U.E. Kids - Growing My Leadership Garden helps children develop a "Leadership Garden Legacy' based on mutual respect, cooperation and teamwork.
When kids get depressed, the consequences can be severe—even including suicide. For educators, parents, grandparents, and caregivers facing the challenges of increasing children's leadership skills and sense of self-worth while creating a safe, supportive climate, the acronym, U.N.I.Q.U.E. may provide a handy toolkit: Understanding, Nurturing, Inventive, Quality, Unstoppable, Expression.
Each letter gets an entire chapter in Debra J. Slover's new book, U.N.I.Q.U.E. KIDS: Growing My Leadership Garden— a Who-Moved-My-Cheese-style parable designed to counteract depression and build self-empowerment strategies.
Taking one letter at a time, Slover walks the reader through creating and encouraging the life-affirming, esteem-building, leadership skills characteristic, and harnessing the six qualities together to form a "Leadership Garden Legacy" based on mutual respect, cooperation, teamwork, and other values. Kids who have been bullied may respond especially well.
U.N.I.Q.U.E. Kids and the accompanying Activity Guide are designed as learning aids to involve the active participation of grownups who can read the book with a child (8-12), facilitate the activities in the workbook, and provide guidance and reinforcement in the Leadership Garden concepts.
More information on the Leadership Garden Legacy program is available at www.LeadershipGardenLegacy.com. Information on National Survivors of Suicide Day is available at the Leadership Garden Legacy blog. Ms. Slover can be reached by email at info@LeadershipGardenLegacy.com

Cold and Flu Season: Boost Your Immunity Through Self Awareness And Managing Thought - http://ping.fm/cfM45
Leia Mais…Cold and Flu Season: Boost Your Immunity Through Self Awareness And Managing Thought
Mary Lore, CEO of Managing Thought LLC, proposes that learning to think healthy thoughts, versus believing we are certain to get sick, can boost immunity and lead to living a healthy life
Cold and flu season is here. Many of us approach this time of year with thoughts of trepidation and impending doom. Mary Lore, award-winning author of Managing Thought, notes that many of us act as if we are victims of cold and flu season and we aren’t. Lore suggests that we may be victims of our thoughts about cold and flu season. She “prescribes” a dose of self-awareness and a few new powerful thoughts to “boost immunity” and enjoy a happy and healthy life.
“Many of us think of the cold and flu season with certainty—as if it’s reality—and it is not reality,” states Lore. “It is the reality we have created for ourselves. We can start looking at our thoughts instead of from our thoughts and focus on what we want (good health and a strong immune system) instead of what we don’t want (cold and flu).
If you are thinking thoughts such as 'I get a cold every November,' or 'Whenever I get a cold, it always turns into bronchitis,' or 'When the kids come home sick, it’s just a matter of time before I catch it,' you are focused on what you don’t want. You are also instructing your brain to cause your body to get a cold every November, get bronchitis, and get sick with whatever your kids bring home. And your brain has no instructions to follow to help you cultivate health or strengthen your immune system. It’s too busy looking for evidence that it’s flu season!”
“When our brain receives instruction", she states, "it searches for opportunities to make what we want a reality, and if our thoughts are focused on getting sick, that can become our reality.”
Lore acknowledges that there are those of us, such as infants, children, pregnant women, the elderly, and others with compromised immune systems who are susceptible to colds and flu and may require medical advice, professional diagnosis, opinion, and treatment. The rest of us, she says, can start noticing if our thoughts are moving us in the direction of good health or not.
Lore advises, “When you catch yourself thinking ‘cold and flu season’ thoughts, take a moment to replace them with ‘great health and strong immune system’ thoughts and see what happens.”
Lore suggests that thoughts such as I drink eight glasses of water a day and I add lemon juice to my water; I wonder what vegetables I can eat for lunch?; Which cup of coffee can I replace with green tea?; and Where can I take my walk today and get some fresh air? keep us focused on what we want. “You can also choose thoughts," states Lore, "that focus on taking time to be quiet each day, relaxing, laughing, practicing thankfulness, or doing the things you love to do which help cultivate health and happiness. With self-awareness and powerful thoughts, we can lose the 'cold and flu season', boost our immunity and enjoy a happy and a healthy life."

Detroit Michigan Then And Now - From Boom To Bust
Erica Miner’s new release, FourEver Friends, offers an in depth, first person glimpse at the 60's era; an era that Boomer Detroit residents look to with nostalgia and young adults look to with curiosity. She will be appearing on The Authors Show Radio on November 12, 2009
Though many people today think of the Sixties as a bygone era, Boomers hold these years dear within their hearts and minds. In the 60's Detroit symbolized the American Dream. Now all of that has changed.
On Labor Day in 1960, when JFK gave the keynote speech in downtown Detroit, the city was thriving. Businesses were doing well, education was well-funded and in top form, the city abounded with talent, especially among young people, and it was the all-important hub of Labor in the US. When Kennedy was assassinated in 1963, and subsequently the city exploded into race riots in 1967, all of that began to change.Erica Miner's newest novel, FourEver Friends, tells the tale of four teenage girls set in 1960's Detroit. It is a time she remembers fondly.
"As a high school student at that time," states Ms. Miner, "I was full of hope for my city, my country, and my generation. I remember how wonderful it felt to anticipate the great changes to come. Since then my beloved city has been in a downward spiral, and with the current recession Detroit is hurting more than any other city in the US: the auto industry woes, the 15+% unemployment, are just the tip of this iceberg."
Originally Ms. Miner wrote the book as a love letter to her four ‘BFFs’ and to the school that gave us them an astonishing foundation that they were able to draw on. The book can now be seen as somewhat of a snap shot that captures a better time, lived in a better place.
In FourEver Friends, Ms. Miner takes us back to an era that Baby Boomers look to with nostalgia and young adults look to with curiosity. The 1960's were a time of new hope and idealism that ultimately dissolved into volatility and violence. In a specialized inner city Detroit high school, four teenage girls have established the roots of lasting friendship. Their backgrounds are different, but their passion for classical music and angst over raging hormones link them irrevocably. The girls' school is a cultural melting pot of race and ethnicity in which students are judged by their intellect and talents, not the color of their skin or religious upbringing.
"As heartbreaking as it is for me to observe the troubles of the (no longer) Motor City," stated Ms. Miner, "I still see Detroit in my mind as it once was. My fictionalized memoir FourEver Friends, takes a trip down memory lane to a time when the Boomer generation navigated the waters of their adolescence against the background of JFK’s election, the Cuban Missile Crisis, the advent of the Beatles, and other major socio-political events. Even though some of these events could be considered in a negative light, those were the best days the city and the people there had ever experienced. This book will bring back fond memories of those times."
Erica Miner will be appearing on The Authors Show Radio (www.TheAuthorsShow.com) on Nov 12, 2009. FourEver Friends is now available at Ms. Miner's website at www.ericaminer.com, Amazon.com, and Barnes and Noble. She can be contacted by email at emwriter@earthlink.net.

Clever Sound Promotions LLC Offers Unforgettable Christmas Cards and Gifts for Employees, Clients - http://ping.fm/3w2yJ
Leia Mais…Clever Sound Promotions LLC Adds Sound To Make Unique and Unforgettable Christmas Cards and Gifts for Employees, Clients and Customers
Holiday Christmas cards with sound modules allow organizations to make an unforgettable impression in the mind of customers this holiday season. Clever Sound Promotions’ unique products deliver messages using fully customizable sound modules embedded within the traditional holiday greeting card and gifts.
The traditional Christmas card, a flat, text based holiday greeting, is fast becoming a thing of the past with the introduction of ‘sound cards’ that allow organizations to both show and tell the message using innovative technology.
“This affordable technology,” stated Karen Ibach, CEO of Clever Sound Promotions LLC, “makes any greeting card, company announcement or direct mail piece literally talk to the receiver of the piece. This can really set a company apart from the competition in the mind of the client and creates a memorable impression that will not soon be forgotten.”
Holiday greeting cards are not the only promotional product that can be fitted with customized sound technology. In addition to sound cards, mailing tubes, key chains, flashlights, pens and magazine ads can be fitted with the sound device. Even the bell on the company’s front desk can be fitted to deliver a message each time a customer uses it.
In addition, point of purchase displays can now feature not only visual information but also audio information. Study after study has shown the increased effectiveness of sales pieces and displays that actively engage potential buyers beyond the simple delivery of a text message.
Sales organizations really stand to benefit by using this technology. Many of the largest corporations and companies in the world have begun to use sound module technology. In today’s marketplace the potential customer is inundated with so many marketing messages that the sales promotion pieces tend to blur into the background and are soon forgotten. It is important for any sales organization to make a one-of-a-kind, indelible impression in the mind of buyers. This technology accomplishes this goal. During this time of the year most companies send out traditional holiday greetings. These can also tend to get lost in the shuffle due to the sheer number of such messages. The sound card technology allows any sales organization to custom design a holiday greeting that will not soon be forgotten.
“Adding sound to a promotion,” stated Ms. Ibach, “adds a completely different level of emotion and excitement. Our clients have used everything from a Tarzan yell to catchy audio logos. Organizations are limited only by their own imagination and I will state that some clients have wild and crazy imaginations. They often get a much higher response rate than most other forms of advertising produce; as much as 40% higher. The real benefit here is that the audio promotion pieces get past the tough gatekeepers and directly into the hands of their targeted customers.”
More information is available at the Clever Sound Promotions’ website. Ms. Ibach is available for interview and can be reached using the information below or by email at kibach@promoplace.com.
