Powerful Strategies To Overcome The Long Term Effects Of Stress Offered By Dr. Sylvia Lafair, Bestselling Author Of Invisible Stress: It’s NOT What YOU Think

Sylvia Lafair is the founder of Creative Energy Options (CEOinc), a global business consulting firm and the world’s leading authority in Pattern Breakthrough Leadership Development, a Top Global Leadership Guru, and a best-selling author.

The dire predictions about the long term effects of the pandemic are now coming to pass. According to a recent article by the American Psychological Association titled, "One year later, a new wave of pandemic health concerns", a Harris Poll conducted in February 2021 revealed some startling facts regarding the effect of stress on our mental and physical health. As stated in the article, "The prolonged stress experienced by adults, especially the high levels of stress reported by Americans directly linked to the pandemic, is seriously affecting mental and physical health, including changes to weight, sleep and alcohol use."

We are now smack in the middle of a mental health crisis. The pandemic is certainly responsible for much of the increase in stress levels. But when combined with our recent political and societal unrest, and now the more recent potential threat of nuclear war, we see a perfect storm of stressors. In the short term, the effects are alarming. The long term effects on all of us, especially our young people, will be staggering, as many of us will begin to suffer from a type of stress that is not so apparent - invisible stress.

It is this form of stress that Dr. Sylvia Lafair addresses in her groundbreaking, best-selling book, Invisible Stress: It’s NOT What YOU Think.

Lafair believes we must learn to practice "Safe Stress". Invisible Stress shows readers how to:

• Discuss the fourth level, invisible stress, with information not available till now.
• Gain cutting-edge methods to tackle root causes of overwhelm and self-doubt.
• Acquire powerful yet simple ways to make stress work for you.
• Gather tips to build confidence and strengthen resilience during tough times.
• Learn how to adopt healthy daily behaviors to stay in the safe stress zone.
• Explore coping mechanisms to manage today’s accelerated rate of change.
• Master new leadership skills for less stress and a more harmonious life.

Readers and reviewers alike have praised 'Invisible Stress.' Andy Heppelle, Chief magic maker, accelerating sustainability, Capgemini said ‘New possibilities unleash when you are aware of the real cause of stress underneath the obvious.” Brenda Thompson, executive director, Gadsden, Schneider, and Woodward, LLP comments, 'It is an essential part of the role of human resources to guide people to gain the clarity this book gives about how to handle stress.’ Mark Baylis, Founder of Valor Clinic, US Army Special Forces (Retired), said it ". . . should be required reading for the military." Joanne LaMarca Mathisen, former network producer NBC Today, New York, said, “Invisible stress followed me around for decades. Once I understood it was always with me, and I carried it around like two dumbbells on my shoulders, I learned to make the right changes. I’m calmer now, and even better, more energetic.”

Author Sylvia Lafair is the CEO of Creative Energy Options Inc. (CEOinc), a firm that challenges the status quo of workplace relationships. A pioneer in leadership education and executive coaching her work has been transformational for individuals, teams, and entire organizations.

The company's Pattern Breakthrough process, not found in any other coaching or programs, enables them to prepare clients to transcend business frustrations to heightened productivity. Bestselling Author Joseph Ganci Announces New Historical Fiction eBook, 'David, God's Chosen Crucible,’ Available At No Charge April 4 Through April 6, 2022

Ganci's first sequel to 'Gideon, The Sound, and The Glory', is part of ‘The Empire of Israel’ series. God calls an unlikely and lowly shepherd boy to become the king of the Jews and fighting prince of Israel.

Bestselling author Joseph Ganci has announced that his latest book, 'David, God's Chosen Crucible,’ will be available in eBook form at no charge from April 4 through April 6, 2022.

Due to recent events in Ukraine, yet another war weighs heavily on everyone's mind today. Russia is reminiscent of the Philistine attempt to eradicate the weaker fledging Israel. Who cannot envision Vladimir Putin as the all-powerful giant Goliath menacing the young boy David in the modern guise of Volodymyr Zelenskyy, attempting to shepherd his valiant nation with a sling of borrowed javelin and stinger missiles against a more powerful foe determined on his destruction? We have lived through more bloody conflicts than we care to remember in the countless centuries since man cast the first stone in anger. The motives for going to war seem endless. However, the justification for going into battle today and the reasons behind those actions align with the age-old call to slip the dogs of war and cry havoc that impacts both the innocent and guilty alike. Even in Biblical times, the human failings of lusting after power, property, and prestige remain the sparks that ignite the human holocaust and invite the deadly four horsemen of the apocalypse to begin their deadly ride of mayhem and carnage.

David is every man’s man, an outlaw prophet, a man of war, and a man of God. He is a ruthless warrior, an ardent lover, skilled musician, and poet-philosopher. God sees in him the heart of a lion, the tenacity of a bear, and an ever-faithful man of action. Thus, God calls an unlikely and lowly shepherd boy to become the king of the Jews and fighting prince of Israel.

David overcomes all odds in escaping every snare, evading every trap, and learns from every encounter, growing in understanding and effectiveness in the love of his Creator. He protects, defends, and enlarges the stakes of Zion, the resting place of God’s chosen people. David reaches the pinnacle of all worldly success. He marries the love of his life and is the master of all that he surveys, even surpassing his imagination. Witness the steamy twofold seduction of Bathsheba, a married woman, and her soul mate, the insatiable romantic David, her king, her equal, and her indomitable lover.

Readers will relish this incredible enchanting historical fiction. Experience the heart-pounding narrow escapes from the vengeful King Saul, be a party to the kidnapping of David’s two wives and his ferocious battle against the shapeshifting Amalekites, be present as he wins them back and, in doing so, captures a vast treasure trove of flocks, herds, and gold that helps to secure his two kingdoms. Readers will join the battle at Mount Gilboa. Witness the destruction of Saul and his sons foretold by the witch of Endor, celebrate the fall of the city of waters and the last puzzle piece needed to establish the empire of Israel, look down from the high walls of Rabbah and learn of the required destruction of Uriah the Hittite. Then stand invited to the marriage ceremony of David and his soulmate Bathsheba, the future mother of King Solomon, the future monarch of Israel.

The new book is available on Amazon in e-Book, paperback, hardcover, and soon an audio edition. The eBook will be available at no charge on Amazon from April 4 through April 6, 2022.

Bringing Biblical characters and events to life, adding vibrancy to ancient stories and historical personalities with odd-sounding names, living in odd-sounding places is the unique talent Ganci brings to his Christian fiction novels.

Ganci takes a ground-breaking and revelatory path in his quest to bring the awe-inspiring stories to life and ultimately to film. He believes that connecting facts are far more enchanting than loosely fitting fantasies. He works within an engaging and dramatized fiction framework that remains faithful to upholding spiritual principles while exceedingly rich in detail.

Ganci bases his work on three primary pillars:

* The rock-solid cornerstone is historical biblical geography.

* The creative arch is revelatory in its timing and issues.

* The research is concrete, firmly rooted in customs, languages, and traditions.

Ganci fills in the blanks with rock-solid research and prophetic revelations. It is a style that has allowed him to create breakthrough approaches that are exciting and breathtaking while remaining within the limits of sound biblical teachings.

Ganci is also the creator of 'Incredible Bible Mysteries,' a five-part video series now available on YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCK0Op2dYhMXtz7nh2D__keQ.

Ganci believes that Old Testament revelations are the Word of God. Simultaneously, many needful details remained buried until the information age of discovery made them prominent and visible to the naked eye. These insights create a middle ground of understanding. As a dedicated and highly motivated researcher, he proposes many undiscovered nuggets of spiritual gold in the original manuscripts. He shines a new light on ancient texts and removes the black or white argument of the all-or-nothing question of modern-day revelations. He is adept at untangling the philosophical and theological human-made knots. He allows us to take a fresh look at what some consider to be foregone conclusions.

Readers of his bestseller, 'Gideon, The Sound and the Glory' will learn about the Jewish Tabernacle, the Ark of the Covenant, the mysterious Golden Ephod, why David found himself at battle with Goliath, and much, much more. This work illuminates the dark corners of scripture while engaging readers in a gripping narrative.

Joseph Ganci was honored as one of the '50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading' in the 2017 Book Awards. 'Gideon: The Sound and the Glory' has received rave reviews from readers and reviewers alike. A recent reviewer stated, "Joseph Ganci's prose is arresting, peppered with fantastic imagery and succinct descriptions of plot, characters, and setting. The themes rise to a masterful recreation. They are woven into the story to allow the reader to enjoy both the story’s inspiration and the accompanying action. The book explores powerful spiritual and political themes, capturing the conflicts and the dynamics of life within the community of God's chosen people. Gideon: The Sound and the Glory will appeal to fans of political thrillers, adventure, and conflict-driven stories laced with intense action." Other reviewers have used phrases such as "riveting," "amazing," "deftly crafted," and "highly recommended."

Joseph Ganci is available for media interviews and can be reached using the information below or by email at joseph@gideonsglory.com. 'Gideon: The Sound and the Glory' is open in print, eBooks, and a superb, ethnically correct audio narration, all from online retailers.

Award Winning Historical Fiction Novel For Young Adults, The Amber Crane, Weaves Fantasy And History Into An Engaging Coming-Of-Age Story Filled With Adventure, Mystery, Intrigue, And Romance

Malve von Hassell is a freelance writer, researcher, and translator. She holds a Ph.D. in anthropology from the New School for Social Research. She has published nine books and a number of journal articles. The book was awarded a Five Star Medal by The Historical Fiction Press Awards in 2021.

Pushing the boundaries of time-slip fiction and of imagination, award winning author Malve von Hassell's 'The Amber Crane' is a tale of a journey from the past into an unimaginable future, set in two devastating wars three hundred years apart and steeped in the lore and legends of amber from the shores of the Baltic Sea.

The book was awarded the Coffee Pot Book Club Silver Medal for Young Adult Historical Fiction and Fantasy in 2021 and an Honorable Mention for Historical Dual Timeline / Timeslip fiction by the Historical Fiction Company

In this highly praised novel, a mysterious piece of amber takes Peter, an amber guild apprentice in Pomerania in the waning years of the Thirty Years’ War, on a journey in time from the Thirty Years' War to World War II.

Clutching precious amber found in a clump of seaweed, Peter has a choice to make. Despite the severe penalties imposed on such an action, Peter keeps the amber and works on it in secret, with potentially disastrous consequences for people close to him. Meanwhile, unaware of the amber piece’s magical powers, Peter finds himself drawn into a world three hundred years in the future where he gets embroiled in the troubles of a mysterious stranger.

The Amber Crane is an enjoyable historical fiction that introduces readers to the amber trade, medieval guilds, the historical region Pomerania along the Baltic Sea, and two major wars in that same region, three hundred years apart. Written for young adults 12+, the book would also be enjoyed by adults, especially by readers interested in history. There is no outright graphic violence, even though violence and the holocaust are all referenced. Hence, it would be suitable for younger readers. The main character is 15.

Readers have given the new historical fiction novel high praise:

“The historical background of this novel has been depicted with a keen sense of understanding for both periods. Malve von Hassell has penned a novel of intrigue, danger, and consequence. All actions have outcomes, and this book gives a wonderfully rounded idea of the significance of Peter taking the pieces of amber, breaking the rules, and how it affects the lives of those around him. Everyone is affected in some way by his actions, and that extends far into the future, three hundred years into the future, to be exact. Taking the amber had both good and bad outcomes, and this novel explores the idea of just how far the effect of one decision can spread.

The Amber Crane by Malve von Hassell is a novel that is well crafted. Like a master craftsman working with the finest of ambers, this novel is an object of beauty and elegance.” Coffee Pot Book Club editorial review

“Malve von Hassell does an outstanding job in setting up a very exciting and unique story from the opening pages and inciting incident.”

“The author has a knack for sentence structure and word usage which engages a reader every step of the way as if pulled along by the magical amber stone. This is recommended for someone who wants a taste of fantasy and history woven into one, focusing more on the characters rather than the massive details of the Thirty Years War and WWII." Historical Fiction Company editorial review

“Malve von Hassell brings us dreamscapes of endurance and light amidst the twin horrors of the Thirty Years and Second World Wars she has thoroughly researched. Peter harnesses the magical properties of his secret amulets, which catapult him into time travel and the parallel settings of 1644 and 1944. Despite a backdrop of unspeakable devastation, this is not a dark tale.”

“The Amber Crane is a well-paced and truly engaging coming-of-age story filled with adventure, mystery, intrigue, and romance. This superbly crafted novel successfully weaves together elements of historical fiction and science fiction fantasy to portray how its young heroes face challenges and overcome adversity in a sophisticated narrative spanning three centuries and two devastating wars. Highly recommended!”

Assisted Living: What You Need To Know Before You Make A Decision - Is Assisted Living The Place To Spend Flu Season Asks Frances Fuller, Award Winning Author Of 'Helping Yourself Grow Old'

Best-selling author Frances Fuller offers a unique outlook on aging based on her own experience. Her insights are penetrating and deal with issues that many seniors and their families are concerned about. She offers an insider's view of assisted living.

We have all heard the horror stories regard the pandemic's effect on residents of nursing homes. But what about assisted living? While an assisted living facility is very different from a nursing home, there are some similarities - the primary one being large numbers of residents in a confined space. What are the rules regarding Covid-19 and other forms of the flu in assisted living facilities? Frances Fuller, award-winning author of "Helping Yourself Grow Old" addressed that question in a recent post on her website:

Before I came to live in the retirement community, I was in my house alone a great deal of the time. I slept alone, ate alone, watched television alone, made messes and cleaned them up alone, walked alone outdoors in the afternoons. Because of covid the fewer people I saw up-close, the safer I was.

The beginning of the pandemic had already caught me away on a book tour, but once I risked another four hours in the air with a hundred people and got back home, I felt I was surely safe.

On the other hand, I had to go to the grocery. I needed a haircut. There was that long-standing appointment with my dentist. I wanted to go to church. (A young friend did some shopping for me. I let my hair grow and apologized to the dentist, who might have been relieved. At church I sat where an usher put me, surrounded by empty seats, and “passed the peace” with hand signals.)

I am good at using time alone, but I missed my friends. Sometimes one would drop by for a ten-minute visit, bringing a bowl of soup or a piece of cake, and we would sit on opposite sides of my living room wearing masks or visit on the front stoop, shifting our weight from one foot to the other. Regardless of the circumstances, I felt inhospitable when I did not invite people in.

The bright spot in my week was Friday evening when my son and his wife arrived from half an hour away, bringing dinner. We had decided to trust one another.

Sometimes I think about the contrast between my life then and now, living in the retirement community. When I came here I had not even imagined how long covid would be with us or how much it would change some of our lives. And the reason I asked at the top of this article if this is the place to spend flu season is that we have come to realize that covid will not totally go away but will be impacting our lives for the foreseeable future. We have to compare it in this way to the flu that attacked the world viciously in 1918, taking the lives of many people, young and old, creating havoc in the medical system and work force, and giving the scientists an urgent assignment. Sound familiar?

We didn’t get rid of the flu; we just learned to control it.

Now I hear that covid will be the same. We will win but not a total victory. We will forever expect covid and be obliged to respect it.

Therefore. . .the question: Is a continuing care community the place to be if there is a covid-season like flu season?

Based on the current response to covid, this is what I can say:

Numerous people who work in a senior community will come in the mornings and go home in the afternoons and a few others will come in to handle the night shift. No one can know what all these people did while they were away. Surely they will be vaccinated, however. If they refuse, they will lose their jobs. Nevertheless they may carry in with them some strain of covid and/or the flu.

Visitors to the community now (and we can assume during any epidemic) are limited and asked to follow CDC guidelines for wearing masks. Their temperature is taken at the door. They must sign in at the reception desk, answering numerous other nosy questions, all designed to protect the people who live inside. Such rules may be revised to fit danger levels, but one thing we can know. The owners and administrators of such a community are deeply invested in every resident’s well-being. An outbreak of a contagious disease inside their walls would be a public relations disaster.

As a resident, you cannot be required to accept vaccination, but the administration may arrange a community vaccination event and boast of a percentage like 97%, while the rest of the country struggles to reach 75% fully vaccinated.

The full piece is available at her site at http://www.francesfullerauthor.com.

Frances Fuller's book is unique among the many books on aging, because it is personal, while most such books are written from an academic point of view. Most are penned by sociologists, doctors, gerontologists, even the CEO of AARP, and one by a Catholic nun, Joan Chittister. Chittister's book, 'The Gift of Years' is beautifully written, focusing on spiritual values and finding meaning in life. Chittister admits in the preface that she was only 70, which is the front edge of aging, and her book is somewhat abstract.

Atul Gawande’s book, 'On Being Mortal', relates medicine and old age, It enjoys high Amazon rankings, in the category of “the sociology of aging.” It contains a great deal of valuable scientific information and shows understanding of the physical and emotional needs of the elderly.

Frances Fuller’s book, 'Helping Yourself Grow Old, Things I Said To Myself When I Was Almost Ninety', is an up-close and very personal encounter with aging. It is an uncontrived and firsthand look at her own daily experiences: wrestling with physical limitations, grief, loneliness, fears, and the decisions she has made about how to cope with these and keep becoming a better person. She faces regrets and the need to forgive herself and others and is determined to live in a way that blesses her children and grandchildren.

Frances deals with many common, universal but sometimes private issues in an open, conversational tone. Her confessions and decisions invite self-searching and discussion. She tries to make sense of her own past and to understand her responsibility to younger generations. In the process she shares her daily life, enriched with memories from her fascinating experiences. Her stories and her voice — fresh, honest, irresistible — keep the reader eager for more. The end result is a book that helps create a detailed map through the challenging terrain of old age.

The result of this intimate narrative is that readers laugh, cry and identify with her mistakes and problems. Reviewers have called the book, “unique,” “honest,” “witty,” “poignant,” “challenging” and “life-changing.”

For these reasons it is a book unlike any other book on aging you will ever read. The book can serve as a primer on what lies in store for all of us, from someone who is working through many of these issues. While the book is a perfect fit for book clubs, there are many other individuals and groups who could benefit from the information and ideas in the book:

Those approaching retirement
People who are currently retired
Children of aging parents
Those who have lost a spouse
Retirement community discussion groups
Counselors
Educators
Life coaches
Church groups (men and women)

and a host of others. For group discussions, Fuller has made a set of discussion questions available at her website at http://www.FrancesFullerAuthor.com.

Readers have lavished praise on the new book. One Amazon review stated, "I find myself thinking,'I need to read this again and take notes!' It’s full of wisdom, humor, and grace. I also have committed to rereading it annually - it’s that important!" Another said, "There is valuable life experience in this book. Helping Yourself Grow Old is truly is a book for all ages, and one not to be missed." Another stated, "Beautifully written book telling timeless truths, for both the old and the young. Highly recommend this book for anyone who loves to laugh, cry, and learn wisdom from someone who has lived so much life."

Frances' prior work, 'In Borrowed Houses', has taken three industry awards and has achieved Bestseller status. Frances Fuller was the Grand Prize winner in the 2015 '50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading' Book Awards. It received the bronze medal for memoir in the Illumination Book Awards in 2014. Northern California Publishers and Authors annually gives awards for literature produced by residents of the area. In 2015 'In Borrowed Houses' received two prizes: Best Non-fiction and Best Cover.

Critics have also praised ‘In Borrowed Houses.’ A judge in the 22nd Annual Writer’s Digest Self-Published Book Awards called 'In Borrowed Houses' “ . . a well written book full of compassion . . . a captivating story . . . ”. Another reviewer described the book as “Wise, honest, sensitive, funny, heart-wrenching . . .”. Colin Chapman, lecturer in Islamic Studies at the Near East School of Theology in Beirut said, “ . . . western Christians and Middle Eastern Christians need to read this story…full of remarkable perceptiveness and genuine hope.”

Frances has shared stories about her life in an interview with Women Over 70, and a recording is available on their Facebook page.

Frances Fuller is available for media interviews and can be reached using the information below or by email at frances0516@att.net. The full text of her latest article is available at her website. Fuller's book is available at Amazon and other book retailers. A free ebook sample from 'In Borrowed Houses' is available at http://www.payhip.com/francesfuller. Read Stirring Stories Of Irish History, In Celebration Of St. Patrick's Day, From Bestselling Author Donna Fletcher Crow

Donna Fletcher Crow’s gripping saga of Celtic history continues with Part II, Ireland: The Pursuit of Peace. Crow writes meticulously researched, entertaining novels of romance, history, adventure and mystery in an engaging you-are-there style that allows readers to live the history. Reviewers have compared her work with PD James, Dan Brown and Barbara Pym.

According to Wikipedia, St. Patrick's Day is a cultural and religious celebration held on March 17, the traditional date of death of Saint Patrick, the foremost patron saint of Ireland. We've been celebrating St. Patrick's Day for hundreds of years. While traditional celebrations often involved festivals, parades, shamrocks and the wearing of green attire, today we have added to that mix St. Patrick's Day memes, shirts, clipart, online gifs and images, coloring pages and a host of other Internet resources, such as St. Patricks day quotes, recipes and drink concoctions numbering in the hundreds.

While the historical celebrations may seem a bit mundane and modern day festivities a bit too commercial, both are equally important if we are to understand how we arrived at the place in which we stand today, and what all of it means to us now.

In Donna Fletcher Crow's saga of Celtic history, Ireland: The Pursuit of Peace, she presents the full story of times past and present. She uses this unusual frame novel format so she can develop the story in two time periods—historical and modern. In a recent interview Crow explained, “I wanted to give my readers the experience of what it was like to live in significant, history-making times in the past, and I wanted them to understand the impact those long-ago events still have on life today.

“In the Irish epochs of the Celtic Cross series Mary Hamilton, my American heroine has gone to Belfast to work in a reconciliation center in a still-tumultuous time near the end of the Troubles. She is puzzled and appalled by the violence she sees around her, especially as it affects the lives of the young people she is trying to help. In order to gain understanding, Mary looks into the journals of her host’s family—journals he compiled while in prison for paramilitary activities.

“It’s my hope, as it is Mary’s, that through understanding the roots of animosity we can find our way forward to peace for the future.”

Ireland’s story begins with 'The Planting of Ulster, Of Visionaries and Builders'. In 1996, filled with trepidation, Mary agrees to accompany her fiancé Gareth to Belfast to work for peace. But what if those mad Irish start throwing bombs at each other again? In 1610 Lady Montgomery introduces the planting of potatoes to Scots settlers seeking to make a new life, including Calum Lanark, desperate to make a home for his beloved Deirdre.

In 'The Hammering of the Inhabitancy, Of Brothers and Strangers', Mary, struggling to understand the roots of the unimaginable atrocities she sees around her, uncovers accounts of the horrors of Oliver Cromwell in 17th century Ireland. In 1639 the Lanark family is torn apart as the sons march off to war—on opposing sides.

'The Strife of Ascendancy, Of People and Rulers', tells the story of two women: Mary Hamilton’s hopes for helping the Belfast youth crumble as sectarian strife boils into riots in 1996. Likewise, in 1683, desperately ill Janet Lanark agonizes as her husband and son march off to join King Billy at the Battle of the Boyne.

In the soon-to-be-released 'The Shaping of the Union, Of Plots and Parliaments', in 1996 Mary is determined to leave Ireland when the reconciliation center is burgled and her fiancé is injured. Yet, she is drawn by a sense of sisterhood with the valiant women who risked all for Ireland in 1789. Can Mary Ann McCracken save her brother from the scaffold? Can Lenny uncover the insidious spy bent on bringing all their plans for a revived Ireland to ruin, even as she harbors a secret message?

Donna Fletcher Crow is the author of 50 books, mostly novels of British history. She has taken a number of high-level industry awards for her work. Many of her books have been bestsellers in their categories, including 'A Most Inconvenient Death', which achieved #1 bestseller status in Christian Suspense. 'The Fields of Bannockburn', the epic from which The Celtic Cross Series, Part I: Scotland, The Struggle for a Nation is based, was listed as Fiction Bestseller by Christian Book Distributors and 'The Banks of the Boyne', the epic from which The Celtic Cross Series, Part II: Ireland, The Pursuit of Peace is based, hit #3 Best-Selling Fiction.

'Glastonbury' is her best-known book, which received the prestigious First Place, Historical Novel, award from the National Federation of Press Women. Readers and reviewers have raved about 'Glastonbury', calling it "The best of its kind," "richly fascinating," "beautifully researched," "gloriously evocative," and "panoramic." One Amazon reader said, "WHAT a work! Every reader can be enveloped in the sheer scope and quality, every historian be constantly nodding at the precise detail and accuracy, and every Christian can rejoice in the fullness of scripture. For me it is simply beyond descriptive praise. I would urge all who value truth to treat themselves to a feast."

The Celtic Cross is a 2-part series which begins with Scotland: The Struggle for a Nation. In 4 individual epochs it tells the stories of—'The Keeper of the Stone,’ St. Columba; ‘The Forger of a Nation,’ Kenneth MacAlpin; ‘The Refiner of the Realm,’ Queen Margaret; ‘The Vanquishers of Tyranny,’ William Wallace and Robert the Bruce. The 10-book series will complete in the summer of 2022.

The Elizabeth & Richard Mysteries is a literary suspense series using literary figures as background: Rudyard Kipling in 'The Flame Ignites', Dorothy L Sayers in 'The Shadow of Reality', Shakespeare in 'A Midsummer Eve's Nightmare', and Jane Austen in both 'A Jane Austen Encounter' and 'A Most Singular Venture'. Watch for 'A Prodigious Sum of Corpses: Seeking Sanditon at Jane Austen’s Seashore', which will take readers to all of Austen’s favorite seashore resorts. Accounts of Crow’s visits to these sites are available on her blog under the heading “Jane Austen Seashore Tour.”

The Monastery Murders Series features atmospheric contemporary crimes with their roots buried deep in the middle ages. Books in the series include 'A Very Private Grave', 'A Darkly Hidden Truth', 'An Unholy Communion', 'A Newly Crimsoned Reliquary', 'An All-Consuming Fire' and the newly-released 'Against All Fierce Hostility.'

The Daughters of Courage, 'Kathryn', 'Elizabeth' and 'Stephanie' is a pioneer family saga based on the stories of Crow's own family and other Idaho pioneers in the Kuna, Nampa and Boise area. A short story on her blog entitled “A Nostalgic Fourth of July” is based on a scene from ‘Kathryn: Days of Loss and Hope'.

Where There is Love is a 6-book series of the enduring legacy of love and faith all based on historic people and events. The titles are: ‘Where Love Begins’, ‘Where Love Illumines’, ‘Where Love Triumphs’, ‘Where Love Restores’, ‘Where Love Shines’, and ‘Where Love Calls’.

The Lord Danvers Victorian true-crime series is an Amazon bestseller in the British Detectives category. Books in the series include 'A Lethal Spectre', 'A Most Inconvenient Death', 'Grave Matters', 'To Dust You Shall Return' and 'A Tincture of Murder'. Donna provides a no-charge download of 'A Tincture of Murder' for those who sign up for her newsletter. More information is available at her website.

Vietnam War Memoir, My Vietnam: A Gift To My Daughter By Jack Billups, Will Be Available At No Charge In Ebook Format March 9 through March 11, 2022

Billups' highly praised book is an utterly unique Vietnam memoir that served to help him reconnect with his daughter.

Jack Billups, author of a one-of-a-kind Vietnam memoir, 'My Vietnam: A Gift To My Daughter', has announced that the ebook version of the book will be available at no charge from March 9 through March 11, 2022.

When we think about memoirs written by veterans about their war experiences, we usually do not expect to find that those experiences can be used to heal relationships. Yet that is what happened for Jack Billups and his daughter Naomi. After 48 years, Jack Billups returned to the battlefields of Vietnam with his daughter, where he completed a memoir in real time that helped him reclaim his relationship with his daughter.

This is not a book about difficult readjustments or strained relationships as the result of military service. We know that readjustment for the military veteran is often difficult and can erode family relationships, whether as the result of extreme stress, broken communication, readjustment to civilian life or a host of other issues, as the returning veteran learns to live with the effect of the war experience. It is instead a love story, combined with a dramatic and searing account of the Vietnam war experience. That experience is shared with a family member, in the most intimate way possible - through a return trip to modern day Vietnam.

Billups' memoir puts the reader into a pair of combat boots, and allows them to see, hear, smell, taste, and touch the Vietnam combat experience in vivid detail. That is but part of the story.

"Hey Dad, please share your Vietnam experiences?" Naomi's request set into motion a journey, 50 years into the past, as a "grunt" in the steamy jungles of Vietnam. Four months later with his memoir completed, Naomi asked, "Dad, let's go to Vietnam, just you and me?" Could the ghosts of Vietnam past morph into a father and daughter blessing in the present?

George C. Colclough, Col. Inf (ret) USAR, former president and CEO of Smith & Wesson, stated in the introduction to the book, "Just another Vietnam War book? Certainly not, Jack takes you down two roads as he embarks on one remarkable journey with his daughter. First, Jack effectively articulates his story in such a way that puts the reader into the boots of a grunt, causing them to feel what he felt, and understand the daunting challenges of those who traveled the Vietnam jungle.

"Secondly, Jack and his daughter continued this remarkable adventure as they traveled back to Vietnam to return to the places where her father had so many vivid experiences. A wonderful story!"

For Jack Billups, what began as a Vietnam memoir morphed into an experience that drew him and his daughter back together in unexpected ways. It is also a compelling memoir that reconciles America and Vietnam, then and now, including the culture shock of seeing Vietnam as it exists today. It offers a heartfelt and heartwarming message to the people of both countries, and a greater understanding of what the old song "Ruby" called "that crazy Asian war."

Readers and reviewers alike have praised 'My Vietnam: A Gift to My Daughter'. It has been called "A beautiful journey to healing," and "A thought-provoking and introspective Vietnam memoir". One reviewer said, "The book was so good, I was sad when I finished it." Another stated, "Jack's memory of his time in Vietnam has been beautifully detailed in his book. Not everyone wants to relive such a terrible page in our American history, but Jack was able to do a remarkable job talking about actual events that he lived through and came back home in one piece to give such a wonderful gift he has given to his daughter."

Another wrote, "The book delivered on my husband's hopes for a healing response to what our Armed Services faced over there. My husband usually can't read much Vietnam War material due to PTSD. He read this in just a few days; it was that good. Our thanks to the author for undertaking this topic and telling his story."

The book will make for an engaging read for veterans, spouses and children of veterans and others who have been impacted in any way by serving in any branch of the military, as the memoir includes the years leading up to, and after his service in Vietnam, including the effects his tour in Vietnam had on his family.

Jack Billups is available for media interviews and can be reached using the information below or by email at jabillups49@gmail.com. 'My Vietnam: A Gift to My Daughter' is available at Amazon in Kindle, paperback and audio formats. More information is available at Billups' website at https://myvietnambook.com.

About Jack Billups:

As a 19-year-old Army volunteer, Sgt. Jack Billups received the Bronze Star with the V attachment. He was awarded the Air Medal, which went to those who participated in combat aerial missions. Assigned to the 1st Air Calvary infantry as a M60 machine gunner, Jack served in the steamy jungles near the Ho Chi Minh trail along the Cambodian border.

Jack grew up during the 1950s and early 1960s in a peaceful Southern California community populated by many senior citizens and dotted with chicken ranches. He is a dependable and talented "everyman" who makes no claim about his service in Vietnam except for being a patriotic American who did "the right thing" as he saw it. He maintained that attitude throughout his life. Asked to talk about his military experience by his daughter, he began writing it out, and ended up exposing 50-year-old forgotten memories and emotions about the jungle war, concluding with a trip back to Vietnam with his daughter.

Alcohol And Drug Addiction: 7 Myths about Drinking Alcohol Offered By Harriet Hunter, Bestselling Author Of Miracles Of Recovery

Hunter's award-winning book, Miracles of Recovery, became the first-place recipient of the coveted President’s Award in nonfiction from the Florida Authors and Publishers Association. Miracles features 365 powerful daily inspirations from a holistic view of recovery.

Like any other disease, there is information readily available via the Internet, that is really more hearsay than truth. However, when dealing with AUD or SUD, it is important that we base our decisions going forward on factual information. Harriet Hunter, bestselling author of ‘Miracles Of Recovery’ recently presented seven myths regarding alcohol and drug abuse:

“Many of us know someone with a family history of alcoholism, already predisposed genetically to drink and may have experienced potentially negative consequences. If we continue to drink with reckless abandon, there is a strong likelihood your grandparents, parents or even aunts and uncles have contributed to this incurable disease. Regardless of where you are in your family of origin, changes are significant to your falling victim to the consequences of Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD).

“For someone diagnosed with AUD or SUD (Substance Use Disorder) alcohol is cunning, baffling and powerful. It is the only disease that tells us we don’t HAVE a disease as we’re looking up from the gutter. AUD could be characterized as a disease of denial. Many who drink alcohol take this denial to their grave. While their death certificate may state cause of death as heart failure, lung, liver and/or irreversible brain loss, referred to as wet brain, (a/k/a Wernicke-Korsakoff Syndrome,) alcohol and/or drugs often played a significant role in the death of their loved one.

“Scientists and researchers are digging deep into the correlation genetics and the psychological and long-term effects and implications of alcohol play. The American Journal of Psychiatry (September 2021) Death and Despair outcomes (deaths from suicide, AUD and liver diseases) have increased since the Pandemic. Statistically alcohol is at the heart of 15% of overdoses; 26% of all suicides and 50% of liver diseases.

“Here are seven misunderstood myths about alcohol. If you have echoed this before, it could be a sign that you’re headed to the end of the line of “normal drinking.” You’ve possibly moved predictably into the position of no return‑‑that of a chronic drinker.

I only Drink on weekends
The medical community agrees that alcohol, in any form, is a progressive disease. We put it in remission when we stop drinking. Drinking any amount is how we keep the disease active as it destroys brain cells, our liver, and other organs. At some point or another, our drinking and the thinking that goes along with our weekend drinking becomes obsessive, controlling, and we drink more, to make up for what we lost during the week.

I don’t hurt anyone when I drink: (because I drink at home)
When we pick up a drink, we become in a trance-like state fueled by a short-lived feeling of euphoria and an obsession that says, “more will get us there again.” We begin to “change” psychologically in order to control our drinking. Questions of whether we must get more, how much will last for the weekend, and a sense of doom that no matter the amount, it probably won’t be enough, begin to infiltrate our thinking. We become self-centered, refusing to engage in anything that will take us away from our drink, or selfishly isolate, preferring to hide our drinking from everyone by staying alone. The variations of how we act and what we do to preserve our drinking soon include guilt and shame, for we know we must act alone.

So while we may not have had a DUI (yet) or gotten in a car accident (yet) stole money, missed work, told lies and worse—all in the name of alcohol, eventually, any, or all of these will become a part of our story. These examples, and many more, personify the natural progression of our disease.

I can stop whenever I want to!
If you think you can, try getting up from the bar or your living room after that one beer or one cocktail. It may work for a good while, but sooner or later, every drinker crosses an imaginary line of no return. We can’t see it, because the degradation of brain cells, synapses and organ functions is happening on the inside.

We don’t know if it’s the first drink, or the 100th that will get us drunk or bring harmful consequences, because the 100th is not enough, and one is too many!

The danger becomes once we cross that imaginary line of no return, there is no going back to being a normal drinker. We like to use the analogy of, “you can’t change a pickle back to a cucumber!” And so it is with someone with AUD.

I have a great job, a loving family, and am liked and adored by many.
Alcohol is a drink of denial. If we react to the phenomenon of craving where we become emotionally and psychologically obsessive in our need for more, if we can ‘feel’ a shift or transformation in our personality, regardless of how exhibited, then chances are good we may have AUD.

I’ve never had a DUI, I’ve never been to Jail; and I don’t drink under a bridge with a paper bag
One doesn’t have to have had a DUI, been locked up in a psych ward or jail to have AUD. These are the unmistakable consequences of what happens to many whose drinking becomes out of control and the consequences become more demonstrable from here.

Rarely would we see anyone under a bridge drinking from a paper bag. That vision would be indicative of the extreme shame in the of early A.A., but not today.

I have no alcoholism in my family
There is no history of AA in my family, and, I am smarter than most. I’ve earned 3 Ph.D.’s and my doctorate in medical implications of the undernourished has enabled me to be selected for a Nobel Peace Prize. I’m responsible in every way. I can’t have alcoholism because I’m too intelligent and independent in my interactions… except for when I drink.

Alcohol has no respect for gender, age, education or denomination. Its purpose is to permanently injure its host. There are no criteria that determine the selection of who dies and who gets sober. Those who are willing to go to any length whatsoever finds sobriety more often then those in denial.

I only have two drinks per night, never more.
By this time, some of us laugh when we hear this. Those who are in recovery or those who have AUD understand that what we’re really saying is something that resembles, “I have two bottles of wine at night, or three to four drinks per night, never more.” But again, normal drinkers just tell the truth.

In conclusion, we drink to escape, because we like the effect.

While there are many treatment approaches and programs, what is common to successful individuals who find themselves within a substance abuse program is the shared pain and the loneliness, often with an ongoing support system for the person battling the disease. That support system is what Harriet Hunter offers in “Miracles of Recovery: Daily Meditations of Hope, Courage and Faith.”

Featuring 365-daily inspirations. Miracles of Recovery was written not just for those addicted, but for the parents, the spouses - anyone touched by the disease because addiction is absolutely a family affair. Using the foundation of 12-Step Recovery, Miracles of Recovery embraces holistic suggestions as a practical approach for those who must face life on life’s terms, clean and sober. Encouraging and thought-provoking, Miracles of Recovery inspires with Universal Truths, “because,” Harriet says, “Once we know better, we do better.”

Miracles of Recovery shows through personal examples how to achieve long-term sobriety by embracing new behavior and positive reinforcement, regardless of what happens in one’s life. She offers a personal, sometimes raw reflection of the truth about addiction seldom seen elsewhere.

Tools necessary to maintain sobriety and change one's life through changing one’s perspective are also proposed. Miracles of Recovery suggests that readers "Do life differently," through exercises, solutions, and methods to improve self-esteem, confidence, and embrace a profound sense of hope needed to succeed. The author spurs the reader to embrace the belief that, regardless of challenges life presents, “NOTHING can change the course of recovery when you keep yourself, your sobriety, and your Higher Power first in your life.” In short, Miracles of Recovery offers hope where there is none through a simple program of actions for complicated people.

Hunter has received rave reviews for her work from readers and reviewers alike. Vernita Taylor of Readers Favorite stated, “Miracles of Recovery: Daily Meditations of Hope, Courage, and Faith by Harriet Hunter is a great choice if you’re struggling with addiction because it offers a full year of inspiration and affirmations which I enjoyed. I see this book as a mentor or sponsor that is walking by your side and helping to lead you to a better, more improved you while teaching you how to deal with your stressors. The best teacher is someone who has been there and done that, and this book doesn’t disappoint. The author knows first-hand what it takes and how it feels to be addicted. If you need help along your journey, pick up a copy of this book; it’s highly recommended.”

Anthony Capozzolli of Dismantled Life Podcast said, “Miracles of Recovery has been a feast for my recovering soul. Every page is filled with love and helpful insights that lead to discovery. I read each page by date and randomly turn to other pages for an additional spiritual hug when I need one. It’s almost as if Harriet wrote her wonderful book for me. Page after page hits so close to home I often tear up from positive awareness and clarity of emotion.”

Miracles of Recovery received the first place President’s Award in nonfiction from the Florida Authors and Publishers Association.

Since her walk into recovery in 1999, Harriet has had one primary purpose: to show others how they can achieve their miracles while staying sober with a vision and determination to never go backwards, one day at a time.

Using her experience strength and hope, Harriet strives to be a conduit of encouragement to others in their disease of alcoholism and drugs of choice, by showing them what continues to work. With practical tools, principles and promises as found in A.A., and other 12-step programs, she mirrors examples of how anyone can be free from the bondage of self, regardless of their situation.

With each purchase of a personalized autograph copy of Miracles of Recovery from her website, Hunter provides a no-charge copy of her e-book, "Your Daily Reprieve; How To Maintain Long-Term Sobriety Serenely Just For Today" in PDF format.

Harriet Hunter has developed a six-module course for individuals who thrive on personal insight and emotional growth as they seek to connect the dots of their lives. During March Madness, Top Motivational Speaker Rocky Romanella Revisits His Interview With Coach John Wooden and Discusses His Book About Leadership, John Wooden's Pyramid Of Success

Romanella's best-selling book, Tighten The Lug Nuts, was recently ranked #1 in Business Leadership and Business Management. Rocky is a former CEO with over 40 years of experience and has recently developed a new podcast, The Leadership Library Podcast.

What books have influenced your life the most? For top motivational speaker Rocky Romanella, that is an easy question. Coach John Wooden's Pyramid of Success tops his list. This is an appropriate time to discuss this topic, as March Madness will soon be upon us. Rocky was fortunate to have the opportunity to sit down with Coach Wooden in a one-on-one interview. He addressed this in a recent newsletter:

"During my recent interview with World Class Performers, I was asked the standard question, ‘What book(s) have influenced your life the most? Why?”

Normally this question and my answer would not of had such an emotional impact on me, but as I thought about the question and read my answer after the interview, I thought about that wonderful day I had the opportunity of a lifetime to sit with Legendary Coach John Wooden at his home. And now, with the NCAA Basketball Tournament just around the corner, it brings back great memories.

For me, the books by legendary Coach John Wooden have had a profound influence in my life and career. I had many great honors in my lengthy career. Some honors were through achievement, and some were in meeting the people and seeing the many places my career has taken me but meeting Coach Wooden ranks as one of the best. I originally went to college to be a High School History teacher and a baseball coach, so I have always had a passion for coaching and a belief that great leaders were great coaches and teachers. For me, being a leader allowed me to pursue my coaching and teaching passion in a different venue.

Chances are good that someday you will meet someone famous. Maybe it is a sports figure or an actor or actress you have enjoyed, but the thrill of meeting a legendary coach whom I admired and often quoted was a dream come true.

Coach Wooden was both gracious and hospitable as we met and spoke in his home. I count this as one of the incredible moments in my career, and it brought the books to life. After this meeting and conversation, Coach Wooden was an integral part my leadership world.

Coach Wooden has been called one of the most respected coaches in the history of sports and the most successful coach in men’s college basketball history. Under his leadership, the Bruins achieved many accomplishments, including a record 10 NCAA men’s basketball championship titles. Many believe the records set under Coach Wooden’s leadership are unbreakable. He was also well known for his inspirational theories.

At our meeting, during the interview, and in all the future readings, Coach Wooden helped shape my professional life and values.

THE CORNERSTONES OF SUCCESS

Coach Wooden identified two cornerstones that laid the foundation for his “Pyramid of Success”—industriousness and enthusiasm. Industriousness, as Wooden defined it, is more than just showing up and going through the motions. It is work, hard work. It is the ability to not only work hard but to continue to improve. On the other end of the structure is enthusiasm. Enthusiasm is the heart behind the hard work. I learned and added my distinctive touch over time that “Hard work without enthusiasm is just that—hard work.” Enthusiasm is the ability to reach your full potential, to prepare and perform at your highest level. It is contagious, It brushes off on those you work with, those you work for, and the ones you lead. Coach Wooden and I were fortunate to coach, teach, and mentor some excellent individuals who went onto highly successful careers, Coach Wooden in the basketball arena and I in the business arena.

In my view the significant difference was the honesty of purpose in the people I managed, worked with, and mentored. It pertains to your motivation, to the pursuit of your goals and dreams. No name in lights or sneaker contracts for the working person. The reality is you are going to have to work at whatever it is you hope to achieve in your life. But it is how you face it and the journey you take that speaks to your character. Your true character is defined by your honesty of purpose. Your purpose is sacred and authentic. Honesty is what is at the core of your moral character. It is being trustworthy, loyal, fair, sincere, and true, even when it is difficult to be. It is not only how you create your values, but also how you add value to the lives of others.
