Christina M. Pagès, Award Winning Author Of Children's Novel, ‘Lucy In Her Secret Wood’, Named As Finalist In ‘50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading’ Book Awards

Pagès was picked from a field of hundreds of authors who appeared on The Authors Show. Her book, entitled ‘Lucy In Her Secret Wood’, addresses a number of vitally important issues faced by young people today, among them the loss of connection with nature, and bullying

Christina M. Pagès, author of ‘Lucy In Her Secret Wood’, has been named as a finalist in the ‘50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading’ Book Awards. Her honor came as a result of her appearance on The Authors Show. Pagès was chosen from a field of hundreds of authors through a public voting process. ‘Lucy In Her Secret Wood’ is a multi-award winning children's book that addresses a number of issues faced by young people today including social media, the loss of connection with nature and bullying.

Inspired by Wordsworth’s Wild Child, Lucy Gray, Pagès’s book is also the recipient of Children’s Literary Classics' Top Honors Award -- the 2007 Eloquent Quill Award for Youth Fiction, their Gold Award, Readers' Favorite Silver Award, Literary Classics Seal of Approval, the Pinnacle Book Achievement Award and The New York City Big Book Award.

"I was thrilled to hear last week that I was a finalist in the Great Writers Award," Pagès stated. "This will be the seventh award responding to my children's novel 'Lucy in her Secret Wood (A Story Inspired by Wordsworth's wild child Lucy Gray)'.

Social media and technology have impacted children in a number of ways, some of them unexpected and many of them negative. Children as young as 8 have committed suicide due to bullying. For many young people the natural landscape has been replaced by the digital landscape. This unprecedented trend toward technology causes young people to lose touch with their natural environment. This is a subject that Pagès is passionate about. She manages to weave a tale that seamlessly presents the beauty of the natural world and the connection with Mother Nature with another subject that negatively impacts youth - bullying.

In the storyline of the book, Lucy’s step-father takes her from the tiny room where he has locked her away for years, and drives her out to a remote wood where he leaves her with a bag of food, and her only life-long companion, a stuffed bunny. When Lucy’s fear of her stepfather dies away with his footsteps, and her tiny room world opens up to trees and bluebells, she is in awe of the shapes and colors around her. She recognizes her friends and family in the sentinels of trees, the woodland life and no longer feels lost and alone. She felt more lost inside walls, separated from outdoor life. Lucy needs only a few days in the woods to realize that this is her true home. Through 9-year old Will, who brings her food, two live chickens, and a recorder to copy woodland music, she experiences her first human friendship, and a way to make music that enchants all who hear it.

She is now part of the magical world of woodland animals, birds and butterflies, not locked away from it. Through Lucy, children recognize they are more “alive” when surrounded by the sounds, colors, and music of outdoors, unlike the world of their computers and phone screens which is always ‘on the other side,’ at a distance from them.

Members of the public who want to vote for Pagès in the ‘50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading’ Book Awards can access her entry and vote at The Authors Show site at http://www.TheAuthorsShow.com. Authors Margo Bond Collins And Dana Lyons Announce Release Of New Reverse Harem Novel, 'All That Glitters'

Reverse Harem is the hottest new trend in the romance novel genre. The new release is now available in paperback and ebook formats.

New York Times Best Seller author Margo Bond Collins and Dana Lyons have announced the release of a new reverse harem novel, 'All That Glitters'.

In 'All That Glitters', two shapeshifter packs of survivors drop their rivalry to close ranks and defeat an overwhelming force determined to tear their world apart.

When Jasper, Alia’s love, is kidnapped by raiders, she sets out to rescue him, but discovers she needs help. Meanwhile, pack-leader Zina wants a safe haven to raise children. Together they penetrate the Federal Reserve in Manhattan and face a superior and advanced enemy. What the raiders don’t count on is the power of love—particularly when it’s supported by the women’s reverse harems.

“What we both love most about this new release is the way it ties the growing reverse harem trend to our favorite paranormal romance genre,” Collins said. “And then we drop all of those characters into a post-apocalyptic world to face apparently impossible odds. This may be the most fun either of us has ever had writing a novel.”

Reverse Harem is the hottest new trend in romance-novel genres, enjoying a rapidly expanding fan base. Reverse harem romances involve the relationship of one woman to three or more men, whose job is to love and support, defend and delight the lead female, whether she’s a queen, a high school student, or a survivor of the apocalypse. The relationships are deep, committed, and for life, not a sexual free for all. For the readers of reverse harem romances, this commitment is the primary appeal, although the heat levels in the genre can vary widely, ranging from sweet, young-adult romances to more explicit stories.

Unlike many other romance-novel subgenres, reverse harem is categorized by the quality of the relationships rather than the setting. Reverse harem stories can be contemporary, paranormal, science fiction, or even post-apocalyptic romances, as long as the romance is between one woman and three or more men.

In reverse harem romances, shapeshifter storylines are particularly popular at the moment, perhaps because the pack structure familiar to paranormal romance readers transfers easily to the reverse harem formula. In these new stories, rather than having a strong male alpha in charge, the heroine is the leader of the pack, and the pack is her harem.

Margo Bond Collins and Dana Lyons are available for media interviews and can be reached using the information  below or by email at margobondcollins@gmail.com. 'All That Glitters' is available in print and ebook format at Amazon. More information is available at http://www.margobondcollins.net/reverse-harem.

Profile:

Margo Bond Collins is a New York Times Best Seller author with 20 books to her credit. She is a cross-genre writer and produces works in the paranormal romance, urban fantasy, science fiction and contemporary romance genres.

Dana Lyons was a winner in the 2016 and 2015 '50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading' Awards. She too writes cross-genre. Her body of work includes 'A Love Reborn', 'The Road to Babylon','Heart of the Druae', and'The Rosetta Coin'.

The book arrived in good time and is going to make a great holiday gift."

Christmas Books That Change Lives - Joseph Ganci's New Spiritual Book, ‘Gideon The Sound And The Glory,' Features Dramatized Biblical Mysteries

Joseph Ganci's unique approach turns scripture into living lessons filled with action that inspire wonder while remaining entertaining and genuine, relating directly to our modern-day challenges.

The Holidays are the time of year when we pause to look at what is meaningful and significant in our lives. Naturally, this centers around our friends and family, and inwardly to our own spiritual progress. We celebrate by exchanging gifts with loved ones. While some gifts stay with us for a few weeks or even months, the most prized gifts fall into an exclusive category. These heirloom gifts are worthy of being passed down from generation to generation. Joseph Ganci's newest release, 'Gideon The Sound And The Glory' is one of those rare gift books that is set apart from the typical and ordinary spiritual book. A masterpiece long to be remembered rising up from dust and shadows.

While many people have moved away from the Bible, thinking it is boring, hard to follow or perhaps unrelated to daily struggles, Ganci has proven that Biblical stories can be nothing short of awe-inspiring, entertaining, and can engage us at the level of a modern-day saga with a tremendous feature film potential.

In 'Gideon,' Joseph Ganci pierces the veil with a penetrating vision of long-held Bible mysteries that are far and away daring and unusual. He works within a framework of an engaging and dramatized fiction that, while exceedingly rich in detail, remains faithful to uphold spiritual principles. He bases his work on three primary pillars:

The rock-solid cornerstone is biblical history and geography.
The creative arch is revelatory in its timing and issues.
The research is concrete, firmly rooted in customs, languages, and traditions.

The result is that book lovers are transported into the very midst of ancient conflicts and come away with an entirely fresh perspective on mystical teachings found in scripture, now living lessons filled with adventure that inspires wonder yet remain practical answering the challenges of everyday life.

Gideon cover'Gideon: The Sound and the Glory' has received rave reviews from readers and reviewers alike. A recent reviewer stated, "Joseph Ganci’s prose is arresting, peppered with fantastic imagery and succinct descriptions of plot, characters, and setting. The themes are masterfully created, and they are woven into the story in a way that allows the reader to enjoy both the inspiration the story offers and the accompanying action. The book explores powerful spiritual and political themes, capturing the conflicts and the dynamics of life within the community of God's chosen people. Gideon: The Sound and the Glory will appeal to fans of political thrillers, adventure, and conflict-driven stories laced with intense action." Other reviewers have used phrases such as "riveting," "amazing" "deftly crafted" and "highly recommended."

Ganci has announced he will make his book available as a fundraising tool for like-minded associations and charities. Donors can receive an eBook version of 'Gideon' in exchange for a donation to a worthy cause. For more details, contact Joseph via email.

Author Doug Carnine Named As Finalist In ‘50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading’ Book Awards

Doug Carnine was picked from a field of hundreds of authors who appeared on The Authors Show.

Doug Carnine, author of ‘Saint Badass’ and 'How Love Wins' has been named as a finalist in the ‘50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading’ Book Awards Contest. His honor came as a result of his appearance on The Authors Show. Carnine was chosen as a finalist from a field of hundreds of authors through a public voting process.

“Being a finalist gives me the opportunity to share with readers the wide range of  life-changing benefits available through mindful kindness. For example, scientists reported that physical wounds healed faster in couplers who were kinder to each other. In a large corporation, employees who were trained to act with more kindness and the employeess who received the kindness were happier and more satisfied with their jobs and lives. Mindfulness is needed to get out of our self absorption, so we can be aware of when and how to be kind, to ourselves and others. After 11 year-old Keyara listened to one of my podcasts, she summed up my work, ‘You could have kept the project to yourself, but you thought it was important to let others know about the mindful kindness work so that others could do what you did to spread kindness.’"

'Saint Badass - Personal Transcendence In Tucker Max Hell' is a story spanning six years worth of letters and growing friendships between four prisoners in an Arkansas maximum security prison and author Doug Carnine. Each prisoner faces various crises in prison including disabling illness, a brain tumor, a prison gang attack, family betrayal, medical abuse and harsh punishments for mild offenses.  Each prisoner in his own way achieves transcendence through his crisis using mindfulness, meditation and the blessings of kindness. The abusive childhoods, criminal adulthoods, and lifes without parole stand in stark contrast to  their incongruously continuous acts of kindness. The book contrasts the horror of the prisoners’ upbringings- with their growing concern for the wellbeing of others. Their voices are raw and honest, and at times inspiring. The book trailer is available at http://feedkindness.com/about/.

'How Love Wins': Most of us recognize that being kinder and more present would not only improve our own lives and the lives of our loved ones, but also strengthen our communities. Numerous scientific studies have confirmed that both living mindfully and being kind to others offer a host of benefits -- from stronger relationships to longer life. Yet even if we truly care and are motivated to change, we find that old habits keep us from achieving our goal of increasing our kindness and improving our relationships.
With his book 'How Love Wins', Carnine offers another path. In this simple but powerful guide, he leads the reader through a 12-step process of transformation, opening a toolbox of skills and techniques that anyone can use to live more fully in the moment and be more kind to themselves and others. A lay Buddhist minister who has worked with hospice patients and prisoners, Carnine provides a clear path that will enable everyone to build a mindfully kind life -- and make it stick. The book trailer is available at http://feedkindness.com/about/.

Readers and reviewers have praised Carnine’s work. Kirkus Reviews wrote this about ‘Saint Badass’: “…absorbing…often palpable…well-written…An illuminating and hopeful account of inmate rehabilitation through Buddhist teachings.” Geri Larkin, Founding Teacher of Still Point Zen Buddhist Temple and author of 'Stumbling Toward Enlightenment' said, “Saint Badass isn’t simply about the transformative power of sincere spiritual practice. It demonstrates the impact of our practice on our environment and the people around us. These men have many reasons to be filled with hate, to be violent, and to be completely shut down given the lives they are leading in the bowels of the hell realm of our society, our prisons. And yet. They transform. One of them glows in the dark, I swear. Reading the book gave me hope.”

Kirkus Reviews wrote this about ‘How Love Wins’: “… as the author points out, the concept of kindness is as basic as concepts get, however elusive it often is in practice—and thus, the book’s suggestions and strategies will likely find universal application. A mind-opening guide to self-improvement.” Duana Welch, PhD, author of 'Love Factually: 10 Proven Steps from I Wish to I Do' stated, “This powerful book takes any of us from a life of 'me' to 'we,' from isolation to connection and love. In a world where kindness is so needed yet so little understood, How Love Wins is a must-read.”

Members of the public who want to vote for Carnine in the ‘50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading’ Book Awards can vote at The Authors Show site at http://www.TheAuthorsShow.com.

Doug Carnine is available for media interviews and can be reached using the information below, or by email at dcarnine@uoregon.edu. Both books are available at online retail book outlets. More information is available at his website at http://feedkindness.com.

About Douglas Carnine:

Douglas Carnine, a professor emeritus from the University of Oregon, began his pursuit of scientific research, instructional design, Buddhism and martial arts when he was 21. His academic career focused on failure-to-thrive children and lead to him receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Council for Exceptional Children.

After retiring, he became curious about the importance of kindness from working with men convicted of murder and serving as a hospice volunteer. After reviewing the research on kindness, he decided to devote his writing and his advocacy to making the importance of mindful kindness more prominent. The resulting project is his website Feedkindness.com along with the books ‘How Love Wins’ and ‘Saint Badass.’

Children's Books For Christmas - Author Sarah Klaiber's 'Treasures' Is A Gift To Be Passed Down To Future Generations

Klaiber's new book teaches kids and adults how good it feels to love and appreciate the treasures all around us.

The Holidays are a special time of year when we stop and take the time to look at all we have to be thankful for. We express our appreciation all that we have been given. Most of us exchange gifts at Christmas and our children are the primary focus of gift giving.

While some gifts last only a few weeks or month perhaps, before breaking or being pushed aside, some of those gifts fall into a different category. Nearly all of us recall receiving that special gift, that one of a kind heirloom gift that has been passed down from generation to generation. Award winning author Sarah Klaiber has created such a gift with her new children's book, 'Treasures'.

Many books have been written around the concept of positive thinking. However, to find the reason WHY we should be positive, we must look beyond our perceptions of everyday events. This goes beyond positive thinking to the realization that every happening - good, bad, ugly, sad - offers us the opportunity to find a hidden treasure. What is a treasure? A treasure is anything that has value. And every one of those treasures holds massive power. How do we do that? There are three simple steps - Stop. Look. Appreciate.

A child's mental health is all important. Our children face issues we have never faced. The mental health issue is particularly challenging, as today's kids must interact in a world in which social media (and the resulting cyberbullying) take center stage. This does not only affect children. Adults face many of the same issues.

"I wrote this book to remind children and adults to appreciate the small things, the things around them that are often taken for granted," Klaiber stated. "If we invite this message into our lives early on, the world could one day be a better place."

Thankfully, Sarah did not stop with publishing a book. She also created a blog where she presents all kinds of ideas in regards to learning how to stop, look and appreciate.

When asked about the mission of her blog, Sarah stated “It is important to think positively more often than most of us do. The opportunity to do so is always with us, not just when 'Treasures' is open. My blog gives this message value. It gives the opportunity to connect, comfort and allow gentle reminders into our unprioritized minds"

'Treasures' has received high praise from readers and reviewers. The book received a five star review from Readers Favorite. In that review, Barbara Fanson stated, "Treasures will remind children that they have a lot more valuable items in their life than they realize." Red City Review said, "The lesson offered is a crucial one, and parents will be sure to support the message that the book is trying to make." Another Amazon reviewer said, "Perfect book for keeping little ones grounded in this high tech, materialistic world." Great word choices tell what children (and everyone) value most. Excellent for grandparents' (and parents') snuggle time . . ."

Sarah Klaiber was recently featured on The Authors Show. She is available for media interviews and can be reached using the information below or by email at sarahklaibertreasures@gmail.com. 'Treasures' is available at online retail book outlets. More information, including her blog, is available at her website at http://www.treasuresaroundus.com.

About Sarah Klaiber:

Writing was Sarah’s first love. Her creations started at a very young age with poetry and short stories. As time went on, her passion evolved into songwriting. Sarah enjoyed composing so much that she made plans to pursue it as a career after high school. She was offered a recording contract, but there was a better path in her future.

Creativity took a back seat as Sarah worked towards being the best wife and mother she could be. The music scene made a brief re appearance, but the experience was disappointing to say the least. After that, the pen stood still for quite some time.

From a very young age, Sarah also fought the silent battle of depression. It worsened in time and began to rob her and her family of the happy memories they deserved. Finally, she had enough. That was the day she began her journey to fight instead of give in. The result has been better days.

Sarah taught herself that, among other changes, taking time to find appreciation provides a better outlook and bring light to some darkness. The concept began with “Treasures,” the resurrection of her passion for writing. Today, she is proud to be the voice of someone who gets it, someone who still struggles but not ashamed to admit imperfections while trying to help others.

Submit Your Selfie Film Or Video To New Website By Barbara Becker Holstein Featuring Selfie Films

SelfieFilmMakers.com features selfie films and videos by teens and adults to celebrate the new genre of filmmaking

Selfie films are the newest genre of filmmaking. Dr. Barbara Becker Holstein is a pioneer in this new foray into creativity in which anyone can become a filmmaker. In her opinion, "selfies as film" is a way to take what millions of kids and adults are doing on a daily basis and turn it into an intimate communication of feelings. Whether that video is then uploaded to a social media site, sent to a friend, sent to a stranger or just serves as a modern-day diary is for the viewer to ponder. Also for the viewer to ponder are ways in which the many powerful psychological subjects brought up in our films induce discussion and thought after viewing the film.

Dr. Holstein is now accepting requests to post selfie films on a website devoted to selfie films, SelfieFilmmakers.com. The selfie filmmakers can submit their films for consideration at the site.

The focus of the site is to honor different facets of the Selfie Film phenomenon. It is a place to explore what makes these films so inviting psychologically and emotionally. The site will introduce visitors to a variety of people who are the creators of this new wave of filmmaking. They range in age from 6 to 100, and their films cover a variety of topics. From the depths of our souls to the lightest touch of humor, a new wave of filmmakers are exploring being human, being alive, sharing thoughts and feelings in a new way, and discovering all sorts of stories and plots they wish to tell and share via their smart phones.

Parents, grandparents, grown-ups, teachers, creative artists, humorists, story tellers (i.e. anyone over 13) can submit a video for consideration.

"As a Positive Psychologist, the importance of looking at our lives and the world from a positive perspective leads directly to the impact of the type of films I am producing creates," Dr. Holstein stated. "We all, regardless of age or station in life, face many challenges - the angst of the teen world, bullying, teen suicide, the dangers of drugs and violence and last but not least how important it is for women to have their fair share of the film industry, not just for money reasons but to shape our universe more clearly from both the female and male perspectives. These issues can all be addressed through films."

"These kinds of films can present a balance to all the online harassment occurring today. Last month, during National Bullying Prevention Month, advertising BBDO and Monica Lewinsky put together an online campaign against cyberbullying that promoted the hashtag #clickwithcompassion. A recent piece in the New York Times entitled, "How Do You Stop Bullying? Advertisers Try to Help," featured a video in which the responses to bullying were captured on film. This is the kind of thing that can create a powerful response and much greater awareness. Now, with the advent of the Selfie Film concept, anyone can create their own. The value of that cannot be overestimated."

Holstein's short films have won numerous awards and accolades. 'Secrets, A Coming of Age, Selfie Film', was nominated for the Alice Guy-Blache Women in Cinema Award at the Golden Door International Film Festival on October 7, 2017.

'The Truth, A Short Film' premiered at the Garden State Film Festival and its song, 'On The Edge of Something New' won the award as the best pop song of 2016. The short two minute film by Dr. Holstein, 'The Truth, A Short Short Film', premiered at FilmOneFest in July. The film was chosen as an Official Selection in the Chain Film Festival held in Manhattan on August 13, 2016. The film was also selected by the Jersey City International Television and Film Festival (JCITFF), and was shown on November 5, 2016 at the Jersey City International Television and Film Festival. 'The Truth, A Short Film' was officially selected for the Golden Door International Film Festival held in September 2016.  Recently, it was shown at The Grove Film Festival in Jersey City and on May 21, 2017, the shorter version was shown at The Hang On To Your Shorts Film Festival in Asbury Park, New Jersey. 'The Truth, A Short Film' was an official selection for the virtual Female Filmmakers Film Festival held on the web.  There was a public voting of favorite films and 'The Truth' came in 12th of 92 films.  'The Truth, A Short Film' was an Official Selection at the Roselle Park Shorts Film Festival on September 25, 2017.

'Falling in Love, A Coming of Age, Selfie Film, is detailed in a new ebook: 'A Selfie Film - Falling In Love' by Dr. Holstein. This ebook details many of the issues and stories behind the creation of Dr. Holstein's "selfie films", which utilize cutting edge New Media technology. These films are Selfie Films assisted by a professional camera crew, resulting in an intensity and intimacy of performance. The topics and questions for discussion in the book can be used by a group of two, a parent and a child, or a group of hundreds as the universal subjects of growing up and handling tough issues are discussed.

'Falling in Love'  was an official selection at the Brightside Tavern Film Festival in Jersey City in early March, nominated for several awards, including 'Best Experimental Film' and 'Best New Jersey Short'.  It came in second place for 'Best New Jersey Short'.

'Falling in Love' was an official selection also at The Hang On To Your Shorts Film Festival in Asbury Park on May 21, 2017.  It was nominated for several awards, including Best Experimental Film, and Best Concept Film.  Megan Brown, a high school freshman, who stars in 'Falling in Love' received the 'Rising Star Award' for her acting performance in 'Falling in Love' at this Festival.

On June 19, 2017, at 7:00 PM, 'The Truth', and 'Falling in Love' was shown at the Monmouth County District Library in Shrewsbury, followed by a talk and Q&A led by Dr. Holstein and assisted by Megan Brown, actress.

Dr Holstein presented her Selfiesasfilm concept at the American Psychological Association meetings in early August 2017 at a Symposium: Novel Directions: Novel Directions: Four Practicing Psychologists' Atypical Pursuits.  The audience watched her film,'The Truth, A Short, Short Film' and the 30 second trailer to her newest film, 'Secrets, A Coming of Age, Selfie Film'

Dr. Holstein makes a number of her books and films available to be used as fundraising tools. She requests that any verified charitable organization interested in raising funds contact her via email. She is available for media interviews and can be reached using the information below or by email at barbara.holstein@gmail.com.  More information is available at her website at http://www.NewShortFilmTheTruth.com.

"Just being nominated as a finalist for the award was an incredible feeling," Ganci stated. "Having the finalist logo on my website gave me a sense of accomplishment as a writer. I think it gives readers an absolute confidence in my ability to tell a compelling story that is fraught with action and adventure while staying faithful to ancient scripture. The rock-solid cornerstone is biblical history and geography.
The creative arch is revelatory in its timing and issues.
The research is concrete, firmly rooted in customs, languages, and traditions.

The result is that booklovers are transported into the very midst of ancient conflicts and come away with an entirely fresh perspective on mystical teachings found in scripture, now living lessons filled with adventure that inspires wonder yet remain practical answering the challenges of everyday life.

Gideon cover'Gideon: The Sound and the Glory' has received rave reviews from readers and reviewers alike. A recent reviewer stated, "Joseph Ganci’s prose is arresting, peppered with fantastic imagery and succinct descriptions of plot, characters, and setting. Hurricane Irma, Steve Scalise Shooting And Other Events Offer Solid Proof Of Modern Day Miracles Says Florida Resident Donna Louis, Author Of 'Miracles Of Direction'

Louis' book, ‘Miracles of Direction’, is an in-depth study of some of Christianity's most well-documented miracles. Louis has made the book available to Christian charities and hurricane relief organizations as a fundraising tool.

We almost have to brace ourselves before reading the headlines these days. The headlines are awash in negativity. In a world where exaggeration and blatant overstatement drive revenues through more web traffic and readership, over-dramatization is the order of the day, that is to be expected, as negative headlines get more attention. This bleak picture of the world dramatically skews our perception of events however, not to mention the havoc it wreaks on our collective morale.

On the other hand, there are modern day miracle stories that do get some press, even some that have occurred in the midst of tragedies such as hurricanes and shootings.

BBC News ran a video piece on Steve Scalise entitled "Miracles really do happen - Scalise reflects on recovery after shooting." In that video Scalise states, "I am definitely a living example that miracles really do happen."

The Express website presented a story of a British family who miraculously escaped death during Hurricane Irma. An ABC affiliate ran a story about a miracle baby delivered in the midst of the same hurricane. Miraculous survival stories from both Florida and Texas can be found everywhere. Florida resident Donna Louis is intimately familiar with both hurricanes and miracle stories.

Louis, the multi-award-winning author of 'Miracles Of Direction, Miracles Of Conquest, Miracles Of Provision, Miracles Of Purpose' has made her book available as a fundraising tool for charities directed at fundraising for hurricane relief and Christian organizations. She is a firm believer in the power of miracles to demonstrate that God does exist.

"Hurricane Irma left a tremendous amount of devastation in Florida," Louis stated. "The numbers are staggering. Over 6.5 million homes and businesses without power and 200,000 people in shelters. A tremendous amount of annihilation not to mention the loss of lives. This hurricane is no different from the massive destruction with Hurricane Harvey in Texas. The state of Florida is strong in the Lord and because we are the Sunshine State the sun will rise again. There has been so many signs of blessings and miracles in the midst of such destruction. People from everywhere are coming together as one to help and pull together, businesses like the IRS are extending the deadlines for filing your business and personal taxes even with the previous 6 months extensions they allow. GOD is good all the time."

Louis' book explores biblical miracles that took place while Jesus was here on earth. She then references with miracles that take place on a daily basis in the modern world. She separates these miracles into four categories and presents insightful example of each type, taken directly from the Bible. She knows that miracles happen every day, even today, and offers readers a message of hope and faith.

Louis knows her subject well, as she has personally experienced three miracles. As the result of those life-altering experiences, she began an in-depth study of some of Christianity's most well-documented miracles. In her book, she attempts to expand upon and explain both the purpose and the direction of those miracles.

Donna was chosen as a winner in the 2015 and the 2016 '50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading' awards contest. She was recently nominated in the 2017 Top Female Author Awards Program. ‘Miracles' has also received rave reviews from readers. One review called it "amazing, uplifting and inspirational". Another stated, "I was profoundly impressed by the writing." She will be one of the featured authors on The Authors Show September 29 through October 1, 2017.

Donna is now making her book available to both hurricane relief organizations and Christian organizations to be used as a fundraising tool. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the e-books may be donated to those organizations that qualify. Churches and other charitable organizations are welcome to contact Donna using the information below to discuss the details of the program.

Donna Louis is available for media interviews and can be reached using the information below, or by email at louistolouis@aol.com. More information is available at her website. ‘Miracles of Direction’ is available at online retail book outlets. More information is available at her website at http://www.miraclebook.net.

About Donna Louis:

Donna Louis is happily married to her husband of 30 years Patrick Louis and currently resides in Florida. She lives to accomplish the task that God created her for and on a daily basis to follow Proverbs 3:5-6. "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths."

David Michael Palladino, Author Of Inspirational Book Series, Gives Donald Trump And Sean Hannity Credit For Making America Great Again

David Michael Palladino writes inspirational fiction. His works address important ideals and values. He utilizes engaging works of fiction to accomplish that goal.

In the eyes of David Michael Palladino, America is finally in a position to make real changes. The country faces many challenges, among them illegal immigration, terrorist activity, the economy, healthcare and taxes. The challenges these issues present can be amplified by the "Washington culture" and the media's take on the issues. Palladino sees Donald Trump and Sean Hannity as leaders in what has become a battle to "Make America Great Again."

"During this, his first year in office, President Donald J. Trump appears to be on pace to become as great a leader as the great president Ronald W. Reagan," Palladino stated. "If President Trump continues at his current rate of effectiveness, he may well go down in history as the greatest U.S. president of all time. This, of course, is completely contrary to what those in the political establishment actually desire."

"President Barak Obama constantly talked about change but President Trump is actually changing the direction and character of our nation. Career politicians have been running and destroying our country since the middle of the 19th century. Both Democrats and Republicans who have been entrenched in their secure political positions, full of status, privilege, wealth, and security, would rather see the country fall than to witness our elected president put any kind of dent in their status quo. At this point, the one person who stands ready to battle against the downfall of the United States is Sean Hannity."

"Hannity has had Donald Trump's back from the beginning of his run for office. Hannity, who is a proficient Mixed Martial Artist, has even come dangerously close to having to physically defend himself in the course of his defense of our president. This, of course would have likely been to the detriment of his unworthy opponent. In defense of our elected president and of our beleaguered country, Sean Hannity has called out and stood up to some of the government's most shrewd and treacherous politicians. At risk to his person and to his career, Sean Hannity stands strong and tall for righteousness and justice and at this point is winning the battle. Sean Hannity is not a man with whom to trifle. So to those who think of entering Trump Nation to cause decay, think twice because Sean Hannity is guarding the front door. May God help our country. May God be with our president. May God bless Sean Hannity."

For David Michael Palladino, 'Make America Great Again' is not just a political platform - it is instead a rallying cry. The values and ideals that America holds dear lie at the very core of everything he writes. These ideals and values are not something to strive for - they are instead the very heart and soul of what America was, and can be again. Palladino provides a vision of America in his works of fiction that, while based on historical events, also communicates clearly the essence of the American Dream.

Palladino teaches, through his works of fiction, important ideals and values. As a former U.S. Army Ranger, former High School Phys-Ed & Health Teacher and Coach, and founder of “Palladino Martial Arts”, he understands the significance of instilling these all-important ideals and values in people. Both of his books in the Adriana Corderu series help communicate freedom's true meaning to a broad audience. For this reason both will appeal to parents, grandparents and educators and those who are old enough to remember what America used to be. Palladino deftly paints a picture of America as she really was during the Cold War. He shows us clearly why American freedom and American values held such appeal for many oppressed people in other parts of the world.

'Adriana Corderu - Quest for Freedom' is the first book in the series. During the first Cold War the world revolved around the conflict between the theologies of communism and democracy. The two main protagonists in this conflict were the United States in the West, and the Soviet Union in the East. As Eastern Bloc leaders began to tighten restrictions in the lives of their people, commensurate with their increase in power, there began to emerge, in the East, a group of young people, hard and idealistic, adventurous and courageous. These would become the heroes of the movement of their time. These were the brave young souls who, with inspiration from President Reagan, began to break down the Iron Curtain. The escape from Soviet Communism and the quest for freedom is the theme of 'Quest for Freedom'. Set in the Cold War era, the book is the engaging story of Adriana Corderu and her quest to obtain freedom by escaping the Iron Curtain.

His newest book, 'Adriana Corderu - Western Odyssey', is the second book in his series and continues where the first book in the series left off. In the second book, readers will come to know a whole new cast of characters as Adriana continues her journey as she experiences the refugee camps of Italy and comes to know Italian culture with a new family even while under the yoke of the Romanian Securitate, which is still trying to abduct her and bring her back to Eastern Europe. Readers will go with her into the cauldron that was New York City where the only safe place to be was where the Italian Cosa Nostra ruled and will then experience the wonder of the Laurel Highlands of Southwestern Pennsylvania and the rugged big-hearted people who live there.

Adriana experiences heartbreaking loss and the wonders of new love. Readers can learn with her as she remembers her sister’s revelations about America’s regular military, to include units like the 82nd Airborne Division, the 1st Cavalry Division, and the 101st Air Cavalry Screaming Eagles. Readers can then witness the heat of her emotions when she, for the first time comes into contact with men of the US Army Ranger Battalions. Adriana comes to know these hard men and learns from them of the dramatic differences and contrasts between the US regular military and the units of the US Special Operations Command and Joint Special Operations Command. Readers will be fascinated with units such as the Army Rangers and Green Berets, the Navy SEALS, and other units that make up the US Special Operations Division to include units from the Air Force and Marines. Readers will learn what really happened during Operation Urgent Fury on the island of Grenada in October, 1983 and of the US Military of the “Reagan Era.” The story of Adriana’s Western Odyssey will not only entertain, but will also educate and uplift.

'Quest for Freedom' has received rave reviews. One reviewer stated, "More native born Americans need to know this story and more importantly appreciate our country as she did." Another said, "The readers become engrossed immediately in Palladino's dynamic effervescent style."

David Palladino is available for media interviews and can be reached using the information below or by email at inspirationalbookauthor@yahoo.com. Both books are available at Amazon, Barnes and Noble and Rosedog Books. More information, including samples of his work, is available at Palladino’s website at http://www.inspirationalbookauthor.com.

Romantic Fiction Author Rusty Blackwood Announces New Release Of 'Rusty Blackwood A 3 Part Retrospect'

The new audio/video interview covers her writing career from her beginnings as a writer to the present day

Canadian Indie author Rusty Blackwood has announced the release of a new audio/video interview series, 'Rusty Blackwood A 3 Part Retrospect'.

The audio/video presentation discusses all of her works including 'Impressions' (poetry), 'Young Minds' (children's book), the Derwood Tugbottom series (comedy), both releases of 'Passions In Paris' (romantic fiction drama), 'Willow's Walk' (5 star romantic fiction drama) and more.

"I enjoyed sitting down and doing this retrospective series centering on my work," said Rusty Blackwood. "In many ways it is like traveling down memory lane, recalling the good and not so good roads that I have walked to date as an Indie author. By recalling where I've been, it assists in directing where I should go, and where I would like to go with my writing. It's like touching base with an old friend, catching up, and savoring what has been lost and what has been achieved. I look forward to new projects and where they may lead me. I hope readers listening to this series will be enlightened by what they hear, after all it is always entertaining to discover things they may not have been aware of, but I am an open book, and a writer who never gives up when I set my mind to a challenge. I also hope that followers of my work, as well as those contemplating my work, will be intrigued with what I have on the horizon, and will look forward to receiving it when it becomes available."

Blackwood's most recent romantic fiction novel, 'Willow's Walk', followed the release of 'Passions in Paris: Revelations of a Lost Diary'. Her first romantic fiction novel is a sweeping saga written in the tradition of Bram Stoker's 'Dracula' and 'What Dreams May Come'. It has been compared to Erich Segal's 'Love Story' and Nicholas Sparks' 'The Notebook'.

Willow's Walk' is a gripping new tale, certain to hold readers captive from the very first page. Set in the beautiful city of Ottawa, Canada in 2003, this touching story centers on the life and times of a woman determined to prevail at all costs, regardless of what is set before her, the result of which is certain to leave the reader reeling in its wake.

'Willow's Walk' has received a number of 5 star reviews from professional reviewers. Maria Beltran stated, "I highly recommend this book." Gisela Dixon said, “I thoroughly enjoyed reading about the life of a person presented in such a wonderful manner." Another said, "Brutally honest. I was touched by the bittersweet conclusion that sometimes purpose and happiness are only found through great tragedy ..."

'Passions in Paris' has also received rave reviews. Linkk Kula Kane said, "Passions in Paris I think stands its ground with these other powerful romantic stories like 'The Notebook' by Nicolas Sparks." Reader Fred Pifer stated that “'Passions', is a fascinating book of a love story that seemed to be written with me in mind. In the book 'Love Story' by Erich Segal, he told of a deep abiding love story that reminds me of Cullen and Joy’s in Ms. Blackwood’s book, but the twists of intrigue and mystery that she adds keeps the reader on edge throughout."

'Rusty Blackwood A 3 Part Retrospect' is available at her website and on Youtube.

Information on all of Blackwood's work is available at Blackwood's site. Readers can download paperback and Kindle versions of her books at Amazon sites worldwide, including Amazon.ca.

Rusty Blackwood is available for interview in the Toronto and Niagara areas and can be reached using the information below or by email at writerrusty@hotmail.ca. More information is available at her website at http://www.rusty-blackwood.com.

World Leaders Can Stop Conflicts By Following Guidelines For Children - Julie Penshorn, Children's Book Author And Director Of Smart Tools For Life Issues Statement

Smart Tools for Life specializes in books and music to guide children to peace literacy through social emotional learning and conflict resolution skills during their formative years

The United States and North Korea appear to be on a collision course. The rhetoric escalates day after day, reminiscent of those schoolyard situations that start with name-calling or sand-kicking and often escalate to something worse. This is nothing new. What is new is that these two nations are not threatening to use sticks or stones or fists - the threat includes the use of nuclear weapons.

Julie Penshorn, children's book author and CEO of Smart Tools For Life, is an expert in conflict resolution and anger management skills and techniques for children. She recently issued a statement that demonstrates that the basic skills we teach to small children are essential to adult interactions. These skills can routinely be practiced in every aspect of life: the home, the classroom, the workplace, and on the international level, to create trust, transform conflict, and enhance relationships.

"As we watch with worry the escalating rhetoric between the United States and North Korea, it’s easy to see that the two leaders involved are not working to gain the trust of each other," Penshorn stated. "They are refusing to become conflict 'partners' committed to working out their disagreements in a way that preserves the dignity and safety of each party/nation.

“Neither President Trump nor Kim Jong Un demonstrate that they know how to stop and  breathe, the first step in our simple conflict resolution process, detailed in the new children’s book, 'The Barnyard Buddies STOP for Peace.' Instead, they are putting untold numbers of people at risk,” continue Penshorn.

Writing for CNN last week, Adam Mount, a senior fellow at the Federation of American Scientists, said, ". . . If the Trump administration can cease its careless threats, the US and its allies could begin a real conversation" about ways to improve the situation.

Penshorn said it doesn’t matter what your politics are; conflict is non-partisan. Life is much more peaceful when people use an effective conflict resolution process.

"We all have experienced the unhappy, frightening, or even dangerous situations resulting from conflicts where one, both, or all parties is clearly dangerous. If we reflect on those times, they usually are very similar: someone won’t stop his or her actions long enough to breathe and honestly examine how emotions like fear and anger are taking control from intelligent thought.

“Harvey Weinstein reportedly was asked many times to ‘Stop!’ Many of the women saying ‘me too’ also asked their accosters to stop,” Penshorn reminds us.

A new NBC News and Wall Street Journal poll shows that 48 percent of currently employed women in the United States say that they have suffered an unwelcome sexual advance or verbal or physical harassment at work.

“These actions are foreign in an atmosphere of caring and mutual respect such as we seek to develop in our classroom communities and our larger world,” said Penshorn. “Social and emotional learning is becoming an accepted part of preschool and elementary schools precisely so that we can learn to interact more successfully with others.

“So, while emotions give us important information and should not be discounted, they should not be acted upon without a period of thoughtful reflection and ‘cooling off,’ or, stopping,” summarized Penshorn.

In Penshorn’s new children’s book, “The Barnyard Buddies STOP for Peace,” the Barnyard Buddies start with the letter S – which stands for STOP and breathe, and then go through a complete conflict resolution process using the letters S-T-O-P.

This process, which works equally well for adults, according to Penshorn, continues to an examination of feelings and concerns of each party, through brainstorming solutions and ends with making a plan. The stated goal is to enhance relationships, develop creativity, and recognize that conflict doesn’t have to be a win/lose or, as in the case of Korea and the US, a lose/lose proposition.

New Book About Bullying, 'Phat Girl And The Bullies' By Andi Katsina, Offers Help To Bullied Kids

Katsina is passionate about helping troubled teens. In her latest release, billed as the anti-bullying manifesto, 'fat girl' becomes 'phat girl', one of the coolest girls in school.

A recent story on the USA Today website by Mike James described how an 18 boy in a New York City high school fatally stabbed a 15 year old boy and gravely wounded another. The stabbing took place in a classroom during school hours and was directly attributed to bullying. Andi Katsina, author of 'Phat Girl And The Bullies', recently issued a statement about this event. The statement read in part:

"This latest result of bullying, the murder of one youngster, near death of another and certain incarceration of the bullying victim, has been described by an official as an 'unfathomable incident'. This is nonsense, it is totally fathomable. What is unfathomable is the fact that a person in authority is unable to comprehend the established symptoms of continuous school bullying, all described in detail in a great many academic reports, papers and books published within the last twelve or more years. More to the point, it does not take an academic to fathom the likelihood that some school students, feeling bullied to the edge of suicide, rather than kill themselves, may well take it into their own hands to viciously attack other students they perceive, whether rationally or not, to be a threat.

"Bullying is raging through the schools system in many countries. Amongst the symptoms of school bullying, sometimes the bullied child commits suicide to escape the pain, sometimes the victim withdraws to become isolated and depressed, infrequently the victim of bullying pushes back, but as most victims are left to face the dread situation of being bullied by themselves, their actions of violent retaliation are grossly misguided and can lead to the most horrific consequences. The degree of violence varies, but is known to have led to mass shootings.

"Sadly, in this instance, the violence perpetrated by the victim of school bullying culminated in a double stabbing with one fatality. Would this have happened if a zero tolerance protocol had been instituted a generation ago? Will outbursts of violence of a similar nature occur again leading to the deaths of more school children, if we continue not to enforce a zero tolerance protocol in our schools?"

The full statement can be viewed at http://www.andikatsina.com/blog.

'Phat Girl and The Bullies', turns the traditional approach to bully situations on its head. This gritty dark fantasy tale follows a girl bullied to edge of suicide, as she successfully etches out a journey of personal growth from a place of extreme despair. Her visits to an alternate world, a reflection of her own world, provides guided realizations wherein she finds the strength, and know how, to not only put an end to her own bully situation, but become a young advocate promoting the school anti-bullying policy and more. Her goal is to get readers to stand strong against teen suicide and school bullying.

Katsina's latest book offers parents, grandparents and educators an opportunity to take a strong stand against bullying. The book makes an ideal gift for kids, and provides educators with an exceptional tool to help develop solutions, in or out of the classroom.

Andi Katsina is available for media interviews and can be reached using the information below or by email at info@theindieoracle.com. 'Phat Girl And The Bullies' is available at online retailers. More information is available at her website at http://www.andikatsina.com.

About Andi Katsina:

Andi Katsina began writing at age 9, spending hours losing herself in writing plays as a way of escaping the dread situation that was life in an orphanage. Six years and dozens of plays later, she had to give up writing to concentrate on surviving. Picking up her pen once more, almost twenty years ago. . . she began writing under her own name in 2006. She has written over twenty books.
