The End Of Year Review: Six Vitally Important Evaluation Questions Offered By Top Motivational Speaker And Bestselling Author Rocky Romanella

A highly sought keynote speaker and trainer, Romanella is founder and principal of 3SIXTY Management Services, LLC. He has over 40 years of leadership at Fortune 100's and most recently served as Chief Executive Officer and Director for UniTek Global Services, after retiring from a 36-year career with UPS.

An end of year review is important to any organization, large or small, though each may treat it differently. Some see it as an opportunity to assess performance, others to set goals for the future. The end of year review can identify areas for improvement, or perhaps recognize and reward employee achievements. It can also foster a sense of accountability, helping to align individual and organizational objectives.

Top motivational speaker and bestselling author Rocky Romanella addressed this topic in a recent newsletter in which he offered six important questions that all of us should ask during our year end review. He said, in part:

The end of year review is a continuation of the mid-point review and is an opportunity to assess and discuss the progress of the goals that were set at the beginning of the performance cycle. This process should be done as a final year-end review for the business, as well as a formal year-end conversation with each of your people.

Although you should be providing ongoing feedback to your staff members and organization, the end of year review offers a more formal occasion to address any performance issues that may have arisen, and/or to discuss major shifts in work priorities that would affect the business and your ability to achieve your year-end plan and a vision to the future. It is also an opportunity to discuss progress made on the initiatives that were laid out to help achieve the goals. Finally, the end of year review is also an opportunity to note where support and additional resources might be necessary in the coming year.

The review process, done properly, will give you a wealth of knowledge to prepare you for your conversation. The most critical learning will always come from your firsthand experiences, your working knowledge of the business and your interaction and feedback with your people throughout the year.

So, let’s begin with some questions to ask yourself and your team on the elements that will be vital to successfully meeting your plan and making a positive contribution as you evaluate yourself, your people, and your organization at the year-end mark with an eye to achieving your plan and goals for 2023.

The evaluation process starts with a few simple but powerful questions:

1. Did you Start Right at the beginning of the year and have you Stayed Right during the many challenges to date?

2. Did you personally Approve a Good Plan?
◦ Understanding and approving the plan is key
◦ Did you build the plan based on targeted objectives?
◦ What are the levers/expectations at a profit center level that created the plan that ties into the overall Business Plan?

3. Did you Communicate the plan?
◦ The plan needs to be communicated at every level from the front-line individuals to the CEO to support and understand the plan.
◦ Everyone needs to understand their roles and responsibilities
◦ There must be daily, weekly, and monthly expectations for everyone and they must be monitored

4. Did you Organize your resources?
◦ Invest in training and development
◦ Did you have the right resources in place to achieve the plan, such as skilled personnel, supervisors, hourly and management employees to name a few.

5. Did we all work the plan?
◦ Know what needs to be done and work it every day
◦ Resource allocation – what are our support teams doing to help our people trying to execute the plan

6. Monitor and Adjust
◦ Use available reports and measures to insure plan adherence
◦ Use available shared resources to assist
◦ Have a strategic plan for remediation

The Rain Falls On The Just And The Unjust, New Inspirational Christian Book, Announced By Bestselling Author Donna Louis

Louis is the bestselling author of three inspirational Christian books. Louis’ books reveal God’s desire for our happiness and joy.

The stressors we face today can be overwhelming. While mass shootings and police brutality form the lion's share of our current, insanely negative headlines, there is much more all of us must deal with day in and day out. Political conflicts in the US are at an all-high. Inflation is hitting everyone, creating even more unnecessary stress. As always, we must deal with ongoing natural disasters like drought and climate change. High profile wars, marches and violent protests by groups that feel marginalized or oppressed, the ongoing effects of Covid - how do we handle such an onslaught of negative news?

Christians have always turned to their faith. Prayer, reading the Bible, spiritual counseling, group projects and gratitude form the core strategies for people of faith. Now we have another resource that can help Christians make sense of the world and transform these situations into pathways to gratitude.

Bestselling author Donna Louis has announced the release of a new book, 'The Rain Falls On The Just And The Unjust', that can help us find peace in the midst of adversity.

As much as Christians or believers of God would like to believe that just because we acknowledge God in our lives, we should never have any sorrow, it is untrue. We will all have challenges, disappointments, and unfair situations arise in our lives but, as believers of God, we are to handle ourselves so that unbelievers will want to become like us. We are to trust, have faith and believe that God has our back and will keep us lifted above, fight our battles, and always cause us to Triumph.

This book follows the release of her best selling motivational book, Book of Proverbs, Proverbs For The Modern Day. Book of Proverbs recently ranked #1 in Best Sellers for Christian Inspirational, #1 in Best Sellers for Christian Devotionals, and #2 in Best Sellers for Christian Spiritual Growth. The book received a 5 star rating from Readers Favorite.

Donna Louis added, “I have told you these things so you may have peace in Me. In the world you will have much trouble. But take hope! I have power over the world! – John 16:33. The same way in which a conductor–maestro directs an orchestra, that is the way God directs our steps. He knows the plans that he has for us and the glorious future he wants to give us. If we would just communicate with God via prayer and spend time in his presence, since his greatest desire is to have fellowship with us, we would enjoy the greatest lives even in the challenging times when the rain falls on the just and the unjust. What we need to do is just like the patrons of the arts and music do when they attend a concert. We just need to settle into our seats, get comfortable, and enjoy the presentation. If we would just allow God to keep control of the baton, the same way the conductor of an orchestra does, we would have a wonderful life.”

'The Rain Falls On The Just And The Unjust' is available at Amazon at https://www.amazon.com/stores/Donna-Louis/author/B00P5Z3OV2?ref=ap_rdr&store_ref=ap_rdr&isDramIntegrated=true&shoppingPortalEnabled=true.

If you are struggling with daily life itself or maybe even deeper issues like suicide, anxiety, hopelessness, and depression these books will help you. Surprisingly, the answer to these and many other challenges have been around for thousands of years. If you're looking for hope, peace, happiness, prosperity, wisdom, and the fullness of life, look no further.

'Book Of Proverbs: Proverbs For The Modern Day' delves deeply into the timeless human quest for wisdom. As all Christians know, the primary purpose of the Biblical Book of Proverbs is to teach wisdom. The Book of Proverbs provides intellectual depth, insights, and exceptional wisdom on how to live a meaningful, joyful and tranquil life by honoring and respecting God as omnipotent.

This updated version of 'Book Of Proverbs: Proverbs For The Modern Day', discusses all chapters in Proverbs 1-31 and brings insight, clarity, and basic meaning to several verses in each chapter. It clarifies why wisdom is not only essential, but mandatory in life, if one hopes to live a blessed life, versus living destitute, empty, or feeling lost or hopeless. The book is rated 4.9 on Amazon. One reviewer stated, "If you want to gain wisdom this book is yours. Great book."

Donna Louis’ previous best-selling book, ‘Thriving in Every Season of Life with God’, gives us a road map to create a mindset - a new life in which we can learn to prosper in any circumstance, however dire. This book achieved bestseller status in two categories: Spiritual Self Help and Motivational Self Help.

To understand what it means to "thrive," we must look beyond the dimension of finances. The concept of thriving can be applied to our health, our relationships, our habits and our peace of mind. God wants us to thrive. But it does not just happen - we must take action to make it happen.

Set against the backdrop of four "seasons of life", Louis, in the tradition of writers such as Joel Osteen and Joyce Meyer, discusses how you can thrive, prosper, and flourish. Much like growing crops, we prepare in spring, grow in summer, harvest in fall and rest in winter. At times, we must nurture and cultivate, at other times we bloom and reproduce, and at other times we harvest and replant.

'Thriving In Every Season Of Life With God' is a book that can be read in just a few hours and provides readers with powerful ideas and concepts that can be implemented immediately, allowing them to thrive in the midst of adversity. The book received a five-star rating from Readers Favorite.

Donna Louis' first book, 'Miracles of Direction, Miracles of Conquest, Miracles of Provision and Miracles of Purpose' helps readers explore miracles both past and present. The book explores biblical miracles that took place while Jesus was here on earth. She then references with miracles that take place on a daily basis in the modern world. She separates these miracles into four categories and presents insightful examples of each type, taken directly from the Bible.

Louis knows her subject well, as she has personally experienced four miracles. As the result of those life-altering experiences, she began an in-depth study of some of Christianity's most well-documented miracles. In her book, she attempts to expand upon and explain both the purpose and the direction of those miracles.

Louis has won a number of industry awards. She was chosen as the winner in the 2018 Top Female Author Awards in the Religion/Philosophy/Spiritual category. Louis was chosen from an international field of contestants by a panel of judges. She was also a winner in the 2018 50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading Awards.

Louis' recent wins follow three awards in the 50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading Awards contest (2015, 2016 and 2017), and two nominations in the Top Female Authors Awards.

'Miracles' has received rave reviews from readers. One review called it "amazing, uplifting and inspirational". Another stated, "I was profoundly impressed by the writing."

Assisted Living: What You Need To Know Before You Make A Decision -Will The New Year Actually Be New Asks Frances Fuller, Bestselling Author Of Helping Yourself Grow Old

Best-selling author Frances Fuller offers a unique outlook on aging based on her own experience. Her insights are penetrating and deal with issues that many seniors and their families are concerned about. She offers an insider's view of assisted living.

We all like to think that somehow a new year allows us a fresh start. We reflect, set new goals and plan action steps. But is the new year actually new? Will anything change? What if we live in an assisted care community? Will anything be new? Frances Fuller, award winning author of “Helping Yourself Grow Old” addressed this subject in a recent post on her website. She wrote:

A new year is upon us, while I am still looking back.

Just a few months ago, in the laundry room, I met a new resident of the assisted care community. She was beautiful, her eyes such a friendly blue, her gray hair lying in soft waves, her smile lighting up that drab little room. She had some question about the dryer. And she, in her clothes so neat and classy, admired my jacket and claimed she would like to have it, if ever I didn’t want it anymore.

Here and there I met her. In the hall, the lounge. I liked her. We compared stories about how we inherited our old fashioned names.

One day, in the dining room, she opened the basket on her walker and showed me how she had equipped herself for every emergency. Sanitizer. Lip balm. Tissues. A roll of toilet paper and other items, mostly things we don’t talk about in polite company. We enjoyed a wonderful laugh.

Only a few days later she was untidy, disheveled and disoriented. After that I didn’t see her. I heard she fell. I heard she had been taken to “Memory Care.” And then this week her picture appeared in the “In Memoriam” corner. So soon. Too soon.

None of the things in her basket were about dying.

A year ago when 2022 was approaching, offering us hope that covid would go away and take with it a few of our problems, I didn’t quite realize how quickly people decline sometimes, with no pandemic needed. And this seems somehow relevant to thinking about the coming year.

Today already, trying to be courteous, I wished several people a Happy New Year.

But will the year be new? In any way at all?

Will we resolve any of our differences? Heal any wounds? Avoid any oncoming conflicts? Defeat any diseases? Get any younger? See something wonderful that we never saw before?

Or was the poet-philosopher of Ecclesiastes right when he said, “There is nothing new under the sun”?

Well, one of the things I finally understood this year is that “under the sun” means just that: from an earthly point of view. In the physical realm, that we know too well, the sun rises and sets and rises again without changing anything.

There is nothing new. This is the obvious, worldly and pessimistic view.

And this, according to the wise poet, is the reason one should remember her creator, remember before she is stooped and the lights dim and the songs muffled and she doesn’t even care.

So, the “new” year approaches, and what shall we pray for relevant members of our family or for us, the elderly in assisted living?

That we, all of us, like my beautiful friend with her walker, be prepared for every emergency? The failing of the body, the confusion of the mind?

Why not? We had better. There will be emergencies ahead for all of us. . .

Frances Fuller's book is unique among the many books on aging, because it is personal, while most such books are written from an academic point of view. Most are penned by sociologists, doctors, gerontologists, even the CEO of AARP, and one by a Catholic nun, Joan Chittister. Chittister's book, 'The Gift of Years' is beautifully written, focusing on spiritual values and finding meaning in life. Chittister admits in the preface that she was only 70, which is the front edge of aging, and her book is somewhat abstract.

Atul Gawande’s book, 'On Being Mortal', relates medicine and old age, It enjoys high Amazon rankings, in the category of “the sociology of aging.” It contains a great deal of valuable scientific information and shows understanding of the physical and emotional needs of the elderly.

Frances Fuller’s book, 'Helping Yourself Grow Old, Things I Said To Myself When I Was Almost Ninety', is an up-close and very personal encounter with aging. It is an uncontrived and firsthand look at her own daily experiences: wrestling with physical limitations, grief, loneliness, fears, and the decisions she has made about how to cope with these and keep becoming a better person. She faces regrets and the need to forgive herself and others and is determined to live in a way that blesses her children and grandchildren.

Frances deals with many common, universal but sometimes private issues in an open, conversational tone. Her confessions and decisions invite self-searching and discussion. She tries to make sense of her own past and to understand her responsibility to younger generations. In the process she shares her daily life, enriched with memories from her fascinating experiences. Her stories and her voice — fresh, honest, irresistible — keep the reader eager for more. The end result is a book that helps create a detailed map through the challenging terrain of old age.

The result of this intimate narrative is that readers laugh, cry and identify with her mistakes and problems. Reviewers have called the book, “unique,” “honest,” “witty,” “poignant,” “challenging” and “life-changing.”

For these reasons it is a book unlike any other book on aging you will ever read. The book can serve as a primer on what lies in store for all of us, from someone who is working through many of these issues. While the book is a perfect fit for book clubs, there are many other individuals and groups who could benefit from the information and ideas in the book:

Those approaching retirement
People who are currently retired
Children of aging parents
Those who have lost a spouse
Retirement community discussion groups
Counselors
Educators
Life coaches
Church groups (men and women)

and a host of others. For group discussions, Fuller has made a set of discussion questions available at her website at http://www.FrancesFullerAuthor.com.

Readers have lavished praise on the new book. One Amazon review stated, "I find myself thinking,'I need to read this again and take notes!' It’s full of wisdom, humor, and grace. I also have committed to rereading it annually - it’s that important!" Another said, "There is valuable life experience in this book. Helping Yourself Grow Old is truly is a book for all ages, and one not to be missed." Another stated, "Beautifully written book telling timeless truths, for both the old and the young. Highly recommend this book for anyone who loves to laugh, cry, and learn wisdom from someone who has lived so much life."

Frances' prior work, 'In Borrowed Houses', has taken three industry awards and has achieved Bestseller status. Frances Fuller was the Grand Prize winner in the 2015 '50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading' Book Awards. It received the bronze medal for memoir in the Illumination Book Awards in 2014. Northern California Publishers and Authors annually gives awards for literature produced by residents of the area. In 2015 'In Borrowed Houses' received two prizes: Best Non-fiction and Best Cover.

Critics have also praised ‘In Borrowed Houses.’ A judge in the 22nd Annual Writer’s Digest Self-Published Book Awards called 'In Borrowed Houses' “ . . a well written book full of compassion . . . a captivating story . . . ”. Another reviewer described the book as “Wise, honest, sensitive, funny, heart-wrenching . . .”. Colin Chapman, lecturer in Islamic Studies at the Near East School of Theology in Beirut said, “ . . . western Christians and Middle Eastern Christians need to read this story…full of remarkable perceptiveness and genuine hope.”

Frances has shared stories about her life in an interview with Women Over 70, and a recording is available on their Facebook page.

Frances Fuller is available for media interviews and can be reached using the information below or by email at frances0516@att.net. The full text of her latest article is available at her website. Fuller's book is available at Amazon and other book retailers. A free ebook sample from 'In Borrowed Houses' is available at http://www.payhip.com/francesfuller. Frances Fuller also blogs on other issues relating to the Middle East on her website at http://www.inborrowedhouseslebanon.com.

About Frances Fuller:

Frances Fuller spent thirty years in the violent Middle East and for twenty-four of those years was the director of a Christian publishing program with offices in Lebanon. While leading the development of spiritual books in the Arabic language, she survived long years of civil war and invasions.

Bestselling Author Donna Fletcher Crow Finds Parallels Between Inspiring Spirit Of Idaho Women Statue Unveiled at Idaho Capitol And Her 'Daughters Of Courage' Trilogy

Crow writes meticulously researched, entertaining novels of romance, history, adventure and mystery in an engaging you-are-there style that allows readers to live the history. Reviewers have compared her work with PD James, Dan Brown and Barbara Pym.

The state of Idaho recently unveiled the Spirit Of Idaho Women statue on the Idaho state capitol lawn. People love monuments for a variety of reasons. Some may find them to be symbols of cultural or historical significance and feel a connection to them as a result. Others may appreciate the artistic or architectural beauty of a monument, while others may find monuments to be important markers of a specific event or person and feel that they help to preserve memories or stories. Preserving those stories is key for bestselling author Donna Fletcher Crow and nowhere is that more clearly demonstrated in her 'Daughters Of Courage Trilogy'.

The series, a sweeping family saga, will help today's women find inspiration to triumph in the challenges we all face. For the 'Daughters of Courage' series, an Idaho pioneer family saga, Crow turned to stories of her own family. To celebrate the spirit of these pioneer women, Crow visited the new monument and published a number of photographs in a recent blog post. In that post she stated:

"The statue honors forward thinking women who follow in the footprints of the stalwart women who survived—and even thrived—through times of hardship and turmoil. As desert pioneers, through the great depression, in wartime, and in times of political turmoil Idaho women built homes, nurtured their families, supported churches, and even shaped careers.

"The unveiling of the statue celebrated women’s suffrage. Idaho women were granted the right to vote almost a quarter of a century before the 19th amendment extended the right to all women in the U.S. Strong women advocating votes for women led Idaho’s Legislature to pass an amendment to Idaho’s constitution allowing women the right in 1891.

"But the fight was not won. Although the amendment passed nearly 2-1, the state board of canvassers did not ratify the result. Again, women leaders stepped forward, leading the charge to bring the case before the Idaho Supreme Court. The women prevailed. Idaho women were granted the right to vote in 1896, fourth state in the nation to do so, according to an article in the "Idaho Press" on Dec 13, 2022.

"At the unveiling, Idaho’s First Lady Teresa Little said that the sculpture commemorates Idaho women’s suffrage and recognizes the contributions of women past, present and future. Kathryn, Elizabeth and Stephanie, heroines of the 'Daughters of Courage' family saga, depict just such women."

Crow said, “It is my hope that this statue and the true stories in my books will help all people, both women and men, to draw strength and understanding from the past, courage to work to improve our world today, and inspiration for a bright future.”

Donna Fletcher Crow is the author of 50 books, mostly novels of British history. She has taken a number of high-level industry awards for her work. Many of her books have been bestsellers in their categories, including 'A Most Inconvenient Death', which achieved #1 bestseller status in Christian Suspense. 'The Fields of Bannockburn', the epic from which The Celtic Cross Series, Part I: Scotland, The Struggle for a Nation is based, was listed as Fiction Bestseller by Christian Book Distributors and 'The Banks of the Boyne', the epic from which The Celtic Cross Series, Part II: Ireland, The Pursuit of Peace is based, hit #3 Best-Selling Fiction.

The Daughters of Courage, 'Kathryn', 'Elizabeth' and 'Stephanie' is a pioneer family saga based on the stories of Crow's own family and other Idaho pioneers in the Kuna, Nampa and Boise area.

'Glastonbury' is her best-known book, which received the prestigious First Place, Historical Novel, award from the National Federation of Press Women. Readers and reviewers have raved about 'Glastonbury', calling it "The best of its kind," "richly fascinating," "beautifully researched," "gloriously evocative," and "panoramic." One Amazon reader said, "WHAT a work! Every reader can be enveloped in the sheer scope and quality, every historian be constantly nodding at the precise detail and accuracy, and every Christian can rejoice in the fullness of scripture. For me it is simply beyond descriptive praise. I would urge all who value truth to treat themselves to a feast."

The recently completed 10-volume Celtic Cross series covers the history of Scotland and Ireland. The leading historic figures of the day interact with fictional characters to bring the stirring events alive. Each epoch is tied to the series with the on-going events in the lives of modern young people as old wars and current conflicts keep them striving to find answers that provide hope for the future. The series is comprised of 10 novels. ‘The Keeper of the Stone,’ book 1 in the series is currently #1 on Amazon for Historical Scottish fiction.

The Elizabeth & Richard Mysteries is a literary suspense series using literary figures as background: Rudyard Kipling in 'The Flame Ignites', Dorothy L Sayers in 'The Shadow of Reality', Shakespeare in 'A Midsummer Eve's Nightmare', and Jane Austen in both 'A Jane Austen Encounter' and 'A Most Singular Venture'. Watch for 'A Prodigious Sum of Corpses: Seeking Sanditon at Jane Austen’s Seashore', which will take readers to all of Austen’s favorite seashore resorts. Accounts of Crow’s visits to these sites are available on her blog under the heading "Jane Austen Seashore Tour."

The Monastery Murders Series features atmospheric contemporary crimes with their roots buried deep in the middle ages. Books in the series include 'A Very Private Grave', 'A Darkly Hidden Truth', 'An Unholy Communion', 'A Newly Crimsoned Reliquary', 'An All-Consuming Fire' and the newly-released 'Against All Fierce Hostility.'
