New Motivational Monday Video Series Episodes Announced By Donna Louis, Award Winning Author Of Miracles Of Direction, Book Of Proverbs And Thriving

Louis is the multi-award-winning author of three inspirational Christian books. Louis’ books reveal God’s desire for our happiness and joy.

Award winning author Donna Louis has announced the June 2021 episode lineup for her new video series, 'Motivational Mondays With Donna'.

Louis hopes to bring words of hope, inspiration, and motivation, delivered via video, that can help us deal with a world in which we are faced with mass shootings, political unrest, and a host of other problems. Faced with such difficulties, it is easy to fall into the traps of anxiety, depression or even hopelessness. In this series, Louis hopes to mitigate that somewhat and wants to let us know that God works in ways we cannot understand. While we might not be willing to see it, there is a plan behind appearances that can lead us to higher and higher levels of self-empowerment.

Subject for segments of Motivational Monday in June 2021 include:

June 7 - Adversity
June 14 - Praise and Worship
June 21 - Integrity
June 28 - The Benefits of Laughter

“In today’s world there is so much upheaval and unsurety that it is mind boggling,” Louis stated. “However, there is one thing we can always be certain of and that is God’s love for us all. He loves us so much that he gave his only son Jesus for all of us. Love must be at the center of all things. This is how we can and should be a beacon of light to the world. We should all be in some form or fashion inspiring, motivating, uplifting each other every day.

“The Bible commands us to do this. “Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.” - 1 Thessalonians 5:11. “Let every one of us please his neighbour for his good to edification.” – Romans 15:2. Have you inspired someone today and given them a reason to believe in themselves and keep going? If not seize the day!”

The new series is available at Youtube at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCJCieSU2FYdC09F3YNkfzDw

In her latest book, 'Thriving In Every Season Of Life With God', Louis presents the idea that we experience "seasons" in life, in much the same way as nature experiences seasons, with periods of both growth and decline. When we understand that, we come to see that a period of decline is not something permanent, but instead merely foreshadows a period of growth. The book, somewhat similar to the books found in 'Chicken Soup For The Soul' collections, is highly motivational and packed with powerful and engaging stories that give the reader examples of illuminating situations drawn from the lives of both Biblical-era and modern day people

Louis is also the author of 'Book of Proverbs, Wisdom vs. Wilderness', which delves deeply into the timeless human quest for wisdom. As all Christians know, the primary purpose of the Biblical Book of Proverbs is to teach wisdom. The Book of Proverbs provides intellectual depth, insights, and exceptional wisdom on how to live a meaningful, joyful and tranquil life by honoring and respecting God as omnipotent.

'Book Of Proverbs' discusses all chapters in Proverbs 1-31 and brings insight, clarity, and basic meaning to several verses in each chapter. It clarifies why wisdom is not only essential, but mandatory in life, if one hopes to live a blessed life, versus living destitute, empty, or feeling lost or hopeless.

Donna Louis' first book, 'Miracles of Direction, Miracles of Conquest, Miracles of Provision and Miracles of Purpose' helps readers explore miracles both past and present. The book explores biblical miracles that took place while Jesus was here on earth. She then references with miracles that take place on a daily basis in the modern world. She separates these miracles into four categories and presents insightful examples of each type, taken directly from the Bible.

Louis knows her subject well, as she has personally experienced four miracles. As the result of those life-altering experiences, she began an in-depth study of some of Christianity's most well-documented miracles. In her book, she attempts to expand upon and explain both the purpose and the direction of those miracles.

Louis has won a number of industry awards. She was chosen as the winner in the 2018 Top Female Author Awards in the Religion/Philosophy/Spiritual category. Louis was chosen from an international field of contestants by a panel of judges. She was also a winner in the 2018 50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading Awards.

Louis' recent wins follow three awards in the 50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading Awards contest (2015, 2016 and 2017), and two nominations in the Top Female Authors Awards.

'Miracles' has received rave reviews from readers. One review called it "amazing, uplifting and inspirational". Another stated, "I was profoundly impressed by the writing."

Several of Donna Louis' recent interviews will be featured a number of times this week on The Authors Show at http://www.theauthorsshow.com.

Breakout Sessions For Corporate Events And Company Meetings Can Greatly Enhance Conference Effectiveness Says Top Motivational Speaker Rocky Romanella

An inspirational keynote speaker and trainer, Romanella is founder and principal of 3SIXTY Management Services, LLC. He has over 40 years of leadership at Fortune 100's and is a leading expert in the development of leadership skills.

A great keynote address can light a fire within an organization that motivates and inspires members of the audience for weeks, months and even years. What is often overlooked however is the opportunities that well-crafted breakout sessions provide. When properly planned and executed, breakout sessions can enhance, reinforce and expand the value of a conference or event. Top motivational speaker Rocky Romanella addressed the value of breakout sessions in a recent newsletter:

"As a Keynote Speaker I clearly understand my responsibility to set the 'key note' for the conference or event," Romanella stated. "I accept this responsibility, as I did as a business leader and CEO, to inspire and unify an audience with a common purpose. I enjoy preparing for the conference by learning about the conference goals and direction. For me, meeting the attendees prior to my keynote is a highlight and helps support and provide direction for the conference purposes and goals. My goal as a leader was to set the tone from the top and as a keynote speaker the same is true; to set the tone for the event and help launch a conference with clarity.

"As much as I enjoy the honor and responsibility of being a Keynote Speaker, I thoroughly enjoy leading and participating in Breakout Sessions. A well-organized breakout session is a perfect opportunity for attendees to share ideas or observations or even raise questions that they might not otherwise share or be able to discuss in greater details in the larger group settings.

Event breakout sessions are valuable tools and must be treated with the same energy, preparation and planning as the Keynote Speech and must be focused and purposeful. Without a clear objective, they are time wasters at best, and sources of frustration at worst—for the participants who were looking to be inspired and dig deeper into a topic."

The full text of all of the article is available in the newsletter section at Romanella's website at https://www.3sixtymanagementservices.com/the-value-of-breakout-sessions/.

Conceptual Art Is The Antithesis Of Genuine Art Says Critic Michelle Marder Kamhi, Author Of 'Bucking The Artworld Tide'

Kamhi is an independent scholar and critic. The author of 'Who Says That’s Art?' and 'Bucking the Artworld Tide,' she also co‑edits 'Aristos' (an online review of the arts) and co-authored 'What Art Is.’

A “monumental public sculpture” was reportedly unveiled recently in New York’s Hudson River, across from the Whitney Museum of American Art, which spearheaded the project.

But if that phrase conjures up things like the Statue of Liberty or ancient descriptions of the fabled Colossus of Rhodes, you are likely to be a bit flummoxed. This “sculpture,” titled 'Day’s End', is nothing like those monumental figures. It consists merely of a few slender stainless-steel pipes tracing the outline of a former storage shed on a New York pier.

If you knew nothing about the piece and happened to catch sight of it from a passing boat or car, you would never guess it was supposed to be a work of art. You’d probably think it was just the framework for some construction in progress. Hardly what one would expect of a “monumental” work of public art.

Monuments, after all, are meant to remind us of something important. To do that, they must stand out in some memorable way. Moreover, public monuments are meant to remind us of someone or something considered important by many people.

Who or what does 'Day’s End' commemorate? According to its creator, David Hammons, it is a monument to Gordon Matta-Clark.

“Gordon who?” you might well ask. For unless you are a contemporary artworld insider, you have probably never heard of him. So here is a brief tutorial.

According to the Guggenheim Museum, Gordon Matta-Clark (1943–1978) is best known for his “temporary works created by sawing and carving sections out of buildings, most of which were scheduled to be destroyed.” He called them anarchitecture.

One of Matta-Clark’s temporary works was called 'Day’s End'. He created the piece in 1975 merely by cutting five large openings in the walls and roof of the abandoned shed that then stood on the Hudson River’s Pier 52.

David Hammons’s 'Day’s End' installation pays tribute to Matta-Clark’s piece by outlining its original dimensions.

Neither piece is your idea of art? You’d be hard pressed to find a purported artworld expert to agree with you.

One notable exception is Michelle Marder Kamhi, author of ‘Bucking the Artworld Tide.’ Alone among her fellow members of the International Association of Art Critics, she argues that installations such as the 'Day’s End' projects are neither “sculpture” nor art of any kind. And in her prior book, ‘Who Says That’s Art?,’ she explains why.

Installations, as Kamhi explains, belong to the bogus postmodernist genre of “conceptual art”—which is, in fact, the antithesis of genuine art. In “conceptual” pieces, the idea for the work is considered more important than its execution. In genuine art, however, the concretization of an idea in a compellingly particular form is paramount. The classically inspired Statue of Liberty is a good example.

Moreover, as Kamhi reports, “conceptual art” was actually recognized as anti-art by its inventors. Ironically, however, such anti-art has triumphed in the contemporary artworld.

Evidently, even the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs—which has expended more than four million dollars in support of the Whitney Museum’s Day’s End fiasco—fails to see the difference between an anti-art “installation” and a work of monumental “sculpture.”

Michelle Marder Kamhi is available for media interviews and can be reached through the contact form on her website. All of her books are available through online retailers. For more information, see her website at https://www.mmkamhi.com.

About Michelle Marder Kamhi:

Independent scholar and critic Michelle Marder Kamhi co-edits 'Aristos', an online review of the arts founded as a print journal in 1982, and is the author of ‘Bucking the Artworld Tide’ (2020) and ‘Who Says That’s Art?’ (2014). One of her main interests is art education.

Kamhi previously co-authored 'What Art Is: The Esthetic Theory of Ayn Rand' (Open Court, 2000)—which dealt with all the major arts and was praised by the American Library Association’s Choice magazine for its “well-documented . . . debunking of twentieth-century art . . . and art theory.”

After graduating from Barnard College, Kamhi earned an M.A. in Art History at Hunter College. Before joining 'Aristos' in 1984, she had been an editor at Columbia University Press, where she worked on titles in its distinguished Records of Civilization series. She was also active as a freelance writer and editor. Among her independent projects was 'Books Our Children Read,' a film documenting a constructive approach to resolving communal conflict over controversial literature in public school classrooms and libraries.

Kamhi is a member of the American Society for Aesthetics, the National Art Education Association, the National Association of Scholars, and AICA-USA (the U.S. branch of the International Association of Art Critics).

Articles by her have appeared in the Wall Street Journal, Arts Education Policy Review, Academic Questions, and the Journal of Ayn Rand Studies, among other publications.

Kamhi lives in New York City with her husband and colleague, 'Aristos' founder Louis Torres.

Education For Girls And Women Via Smartphones And Selfie Films Is The Mission Of Award Winning Author, Positive Psychologist And Selfie Filmmaker Dr. Barbara Becker Holstein

Dr. Barbara Becker Holstein is an award winning Selfie Filmmaker, Zoom Drama Creator, Positive Psychologist and podcaster who helps us overcome anxiety and alienation through multiple media channels.

Selfie films (films made with a smartphone) are now officially accepted as valid works of art. Film makers and the public at large are paying attention to the potential that selfie films offer. A visionary, Dr. Barbara Becker Holstein was one of the first to embrace selfie films and has created, written and produced a group of films that have been selected or won awards over 100 times - and for good reason. Dr Holstein was perhaps the first to allow young actresses to film themselves in coming-of-age films in a format she calls "selfie films as drama." She brings drama, humor and solid psychology concepts to every film and book she creates. Dr. Holstein believes we have only scratched the surface of what is possible.

"Nancy Pelosi, chosen as one of the world's most outstanding women over 50 mentioned in a recent interview that if she could change one thing in the world it would be to educate girls and women around the world," Dr. Holstein stated. "As a positive psychologist and the developer of THE ENCHANTED SELF, A Positive Therapy, Your Path to Happiness, I have focused constantly on the fact that if you realize and understand the power of YOUR potential, Your Talents and Your Strengths, you can powerfully and successfully move forward in life. You can map out for yourself a life of meaning and happiness.  What most people lack is a clear realization of their potential, strengths and talents, often burying themselves in the criticisms and often poor advice they receive from others. The truth to our talents, and potential is for us to discover. How? Self knowledge, self reflection, courage to not give up on the hidden potential we know we have.  My books, 'THE ENCHANTED SELF, a Positive Therapy' and 'Seven Gateways to Happiness' make much of this clear.

"My goal is to educate girls and women about the fact that they can overcome anything, including even a pandemic. However, we all know how hard it is to operate in a vacuum. We need support and encouragement. Amazingly, that is easy to obtain in today's world in the most surprising of ways.  Modern life and technology have offered us easy doorways to explore ourselves and the world. For example, the internet has allowed us to find mentors around the world, to educate ourselves in schools without walls, to make friends in nations we may never get to visit, etc.

"The smartphone has opened the world to all of us! The smart phone allows all of us to become filmmakers, visionaries, comedians, historians, keepers of the family legends, creators of fictional drama, documentaries, etc.  What does that mean? It means that each of us, becoming a Selfie Filmmaker, can add information and relevance of one kind or another to the world at large, if one uses a stage such as TikTok or You Tube or just to ourselves as a diary in pictures and thoughts of our lives.

"For me, as a positive psychologist, the smartphone revolution has given me a way to merge psychology with filmmaking in a way that helps kids, parents, grandparents, teachers, therapists, understand the trials and tribulations of coming of age, a process we all must go through. My films are drama, humor and psychological development rolled into one. The Selfie project has taken off around the world. In its 6th year, I'm proud to share that my selfie films have been selected and/or won awards over 100 times at film festivals and contests.  What is most exciting is that the world at large moves closer to my visions of filmmaking with smartphones. There are now film festivals that only accept films made with a smartphone crew.  On TikTok we see people from around the world making fun films and professionals sharing information.

"When you have done visionary work, which I have, you must realize that if the ideas are good, the world will catch up to you. My films such as 'Falling in Love, a Coming of Age, Selfie Film' are still the only smartphone films out there in which rather than the standard crew, the actors use smartphones with little use of a crew.  And now I'm about to make a film: 'Do Dreams come True?' where the crew uses smartphones and the major actress also does many of her scenes without a crew, using her smartphone.

“Yes, my purpose in life is to encourage and help others find their potential.  To do this I have encouraged my mind to think out of the box, leading to the development of filmmaking that utilizes smart phones in new amazing ways. Will I be center stage? Yes, to myself and that is the most important place to feel proud and useful. To the world, the smart phones  will allow millions to tell their stories, and reach for the stars. After all, each of us is An Enchanted Self. Tap  into your potential, fulfill your destiny!"

As a school psychologist and in her private practice, Dr. Holstein has worked with many children and parents, helping them to develop life skills in decision making, recognition of their own talents, feel more courageous, and helping both kids and parents develop more successful inter-generational skills. Her latest book, ‘Conflict and a Bit of Magic’ helps kids build self esteem though reading the journal of a girl, identifying with the girl, and understanding they have more courage and resiliency than they thought they had. The book is based on the experiences of the already famous “girl” from 'The Truth, Diary of a Gutsy Tween' and 'Secrets, Diary of a Gutsy Teen'

Dr. Holstein's cutting-edge presentations, most recently based on the Covid-19 pandemic issues, can be found on both YouTube, Vimeo and on the Roku channel and Amazon Fire TV, titled as 'The Enchanted Self Presents'.

Dr. Holstein recently created The Selfie Showcase, a new project emerging from The Selfie Project, that allows young people to voice their opinions on subjects that matter to young people. She is now accepting submissions from the public for the "Selfie Showcase" and is actively seeking change-makers and mental health professionals to appear on her monthly video podcasts.

The Selfie Showcase allows kids, teens, and young adults ages 13 to 18 to candidly express their concerns, worries, observations and possible solutions by creating selfie videos or films around important subjects, using a smartphone. Dr. Holstein's mission is to help rectify, in several ways, some of the issues young people face by giving them a chance to engage with others in meaningful ways about the anxiety and stress they must grapple with constantly.

Selected participants may appear on the Selfie Project Channel, available on YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC3uaOTcYF70z5CpBh11VoUQ. They will also appear in the Selfie Showcase on SelfieFilmmakers.com. They will receive a certificate of merit and may be invited to be on Holstein's monthly podcast or perhaps be a part of her next film. Full details, rules for submission and helpful hints can be accessed at the Selfie Filmmakers site at http://www.selfiefilmmakers.com/instructions.

Holstein's unique Selfie Films have taken many awards and have been shown in many film festivals and competitions. A full list, now over 100, can be found at Enchantedself.com.

Holstein's podcast series is actively seeking change-makers and visionaries to appear on her podcasts. Dr. Holstein hopes to feature members of traditional media, mental health professionals and educators who can make a real difference in the lives of young people. Many of the podcasts feature young people - to give them a voice regarding their concerns and their solutions. Guests, if accepted, can arrange to appear by contacting Dr. Holstein directly.

Dr. Holstein is available for media interviews and can be reached using the information below or by email at barbara.holstein@gmail.com. More information about the Selfie Showcase is available at http://www.selfiefilmmakers.com. Selfie videos and selfie films can be uploaded at http://www.selfiefilmmakers.com. British Medical Journal: Diet Is Better Help Than Shot - Ingredients In mRNA Shot Need Label, Not For Use In Humans Says Richard Ruhling, MD

Ruhling is an expert on Healthcare which he says is inversely related to medical care

In a study of healthcare workers with high exposure to Covid-19 patients, 568 cases of Covid were 73% less likely to be moderate or severe if following a plant-based diet, reported in the British Medical Journal, May 18, 2021.

It’s time to think philosophically, says Richard Ruhling, a retired MD, who is in excellent health at 80, adding his high exposure to many viruses in emergency rooms, but he attributes his immunity to the dietary instructions in a best-selling book that he calls “the Owner’s Manual”—the Bible!

Readers may laugh, but there is nothing more central to life than health, and in the Bible’s 1st chapter, Genesis 1:29, the One to whom we owe our lives, outlines the best foods to eat, according to Ruhling.

He warns people of the ingredients in the shot touted by the CDC, not a federal agency and they make money from vaccines they recommend, holding 58 patents. He finds more physicians admitting the shot is not a true vaccine, but US media like news that fits with pharma ads that he contrasts with the testimony of Dr. Sherry Tenpenny, probably the #1 authority on vaccines, to a hearing, state of Ohio- https://beforeitsnews.com/politics/2021/06/the-house-of-cards-begins-to-fall-dr-sherri-tenpenny-testifies-about-vaccines-ordinary-citizens-were-shocked-must-see-tenpenny-3237011.html. Dr. Ruhling says this is huge, 10 minutes or an education if one listens longer.

Ruhling also shares this interview with Dr. Jane Ruby—authority in pharmacy, https://beforeitsnews.com/health/2021/06/magnetism-intentionally-added-to-mrna-shot-warning-label-not-for-use-in-humans-must-video-3040020.html.

And he adds that "The rationale for polyethylene glycol (PEG) is mentioned in the above video but that’s anti-freeze, needed for vaccine -70 degree below zero. Some folks have anaphylactic reactions."

The big news is that both Pfizer and Moderna ingredients use a mix of chemicals to enhance the mRNA uptake by cells, but animal studies gave poor results and the German company that provides their mix has labeled it as Not for Use in Humans, according to Dr. Ruby’s news interview.

USA Today claims people hospitalized with COVID-19 now have one thing in common—they're not vaccinated, but Ruhling finds that easy to explain. Those who are vaccinated come with a stroke or bizarre conditions the media says is ‘rare’ like DIC—Disseminated Intravascular Coagulopathy, a rare condition when he took board exams 50 years ago, but understood now from Dr. Tenpenny.

VAERS is a Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System that shows 4400 deaths after being vaccinated, but the Western Journal of Medicine shows 140 people adversely affected for every death, published before Covid but the principles still apply.

This supports a likelihood of 616,000 people adversely affected, some admitted to the hospital (a dangerous place due to medical errors) and some to long term nursing homes—messed up for life?

Though a physician, Ruhling admits he doesn’t understand all in the link above, but says it is possible and much of it fits what we see happening. Life is like the day dawning gradually on us, and we can be lied to by media and “authorities” who may have other motives, like investments in pharma.

The use of animal tissues in the ingredients of the vaccine is an echo of an amalgamation of our species when man united with beast in sexual union that brought God’s judgment in the Flood according to some Bible commentaries, and Christ said the time before His return would be “as the days of Noah,” reminiscent of Revelation 11:18—“He will destroy them that destroy the earth”.

Ruhling sees all references to ‘physicians’ in the Bible as negative. Examples include Genesis 50:2 where physicians also did the embalming (on their patients?) and Christ’s healing of the woman who spent all her money on physicians but was no better. A Greek word, pharmakeia, that deceives the nations should’ve been translated to a word like pharmacy in Rev 18:23.

We are being deceived by symptomatic relief, but the cure does not address the cause usually, and sooner or later, we’re toxic with two or three problems instead of one. This view is for chronic Rx; if accident or severe symptoms, we have to do the best we know, which often includes medical tests, etc.

"In a parallel to our time, John 5 offers a picture of the pool of Bethesda where a crowd of sick, crippled or impotent people laid around, waiting for a mythical moving of the water to signal promise of a cure for the first one into the pool, and many got trampled in an occasional stampede.

"But we have a pool in Bethesda today. Bethesda Maryland is the home of National Institutes of Health where taxes are pooled for drug research and from time to time, there’s a ripple on the water and news of a cure for this or that with a stampede and some get trampled in the stock market when it’s no cure."

Ruhling says he has been asked what can be done to cope with a worsening of symptoms after the shot. "Pine needle tea is thought by some to be helpful, and some physicians mention nutrients in berries like elderberries, blue berries, etc. A diet of foods that grow from the ground is a better way to help the body’s chemistry than concoctions made in a lab that all have adverse side effects that cost big bucks, says Ruhling, adding that the body’s DNA recognizes things of nature as food in contrast to chemicals.

Dr. Richard Ruhling is available for speaking engagements and media interviews and can be reached by contact information below. His latest book, From Lockdown to Knockdown, the Fall of America, has a large section on health and is available on Amazon at https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08YJJSGYZ.

About Dr. Richard Ruhling:

Dr. Ruhling graduated from Loma Linda University medical school and planning for overseas work, took a Masters Degree in Public Health. After Internal Medicine training and board certification, he also had a Cardiology Fellowship before teaching at Loma Linda’s School of Public Health. Attending a cardiology convention, he heard Pritikin reporting how a vegan-like diet reversed heart disease and got 85% of patients off their drugs for diabetes and blood pressure.

Successful Treatment For Alcohol And Drug Abuse Victims Can Take Many Forms Says Award Winning Author Harriet Hunter

Hunter's award-winning book, Miracles Of Recovery, became the first place recipient of the coveted President’s Award in nonfiction from the Florida Authors and Publishers Association.

Alcohol abuse and drug addiction rates have skyrocketed during the pandemic. And while the pandemic will pass, society will be forced to deal with a level of addiction rates not seen in recent history. The numbers are staggering. That fact, combined with the relatively low recovery rates seen in many traditional recovery programs, means it's likely we are going to be faced with this insidious problem for a very long time.

In regards to recovery, as in any other field, there are generally two types of experts - There are those who have spent many years in school, earned degrees and work in a clinical setting. And there are those too, who have "been there, done that", having earned their stripes through years of hard work and day to day experience remaining clean and sober regardless of what life throws at them. While clinicians other have access to a larger number of resources perhaps, it is the skillful lay person who, with the same addictions, shares a form of intimacy with the addict/alcoholic and understands the issues each must face day by day as they walk the path to recovery. There is a place for both.

Harriet Hunter is proud to claim her place among the latter. She believes there is often a disconnect between traditional recovery programs and those they serve, together with the obvious disconnect between the medical profession many times, and the client seeking alternate options other than opoids and for the alcoholic, the typical cutting back. She hopes there will be a day when more education and emphasis in the medical field will allow for greater understanding of the addict/alcoholic to better serve this population, and through the development of resources that will best support and enhance the addict/alcoholic's journey to recovery.

Hunter is the author of "Miracles of Recovery: Daily Meditations of Hope, Courage, and Faith." The 365-daily inspirational infuses its readers to embrace healthy, positive thoughts and behaviors by taking actions necessary to reinforce a new way of thinking. Tools necessary to maintain sobriety and change one's life through changing one’s perspective are also proposed. It suggests that readers "Do life differently," with exercises, solutions, and methods to improve self-esteem, confidence, and embrace a profound sense of hope needed to succeed. Miracles of Recovery offers hope where there is none through a simple program of action for complicated people.

Harriet holds to a single goal: to show others how they can achieve their miracles while staying sober and clean against the odds with a vision and determination to never go backwards, one day at a time.

Using her experience strength and hope, Harriet is a conduit of encouragement to others in their disease of alcoholism and drugs of choice, by showing them what continues to work for her. With practical tools, principles and promises as found in Alcoholics Anonymous and other literature, she mirrors examples of how anyone can be free from addiction.

Harriet says, “The truth is, a person almost has to have received the gift of desperation in order to want to go to any lengths and they must do it for themselves in order to maintain sobriety one day at a time. We who have been in A.A. for some time know without question, that staying sober for the long haul, one day at a time can only be achieved by changing everything.

“If A.A. is not successful, it’s not because the program doesn’t work, it is invariably because people don’t want to change everything and go to any length. Many insist that to stop drinking/using is enough, or others do it to get back to their families and stop suffering. We are undisciplined when it comes to our addictions and feel sure ‘other programs’ will accomplish the same things and oftentimes, indeed they do. But the same person will drink again every time.”

With a purchase of a signed copy of Miracles of Recovery from her website, Hunter provides a no-charge copy of "Your Daily Reprieve; How To Maintain Long-Term Sobriety Serenely Just For Today" in PDF format.

Harriet Hunter has developed a six-module course for individuals who thrive on personal and emotional growth as they seek to connect the dots of their lives entitled, “Journaling with a Purpose!” She hosts two web-based meetings, while delivering videos, offers no-charge gifts, handouts and many prompts that encourages and explains what the writer can expect with each module.

A Jane Austen Encounter By Award Winning Author Donna Fletcher Crow Will Be Available At No Charge On Amazon From June 13 to June 17, 2021, New Jane Austen Video Now Available

Crow writes meticulously researched, entertaining novels of romance, history, adventure and mystery in an engaging you-are-there style that allows readers to live the history. Reviewers have compared her work with PD James, Dan Brown and Barbara Pym.

Award winning author Donna Fletcher Crow has announced that her highly-praised literary suspense novel, 'A Jane Austen Encounter', will be available at no charge from June 13 through June 17, 2021 on Amazon. 'A Jane Austen Encounter' is book 4 in the Elizabeth and Richard Mystery Series.

English professors Elizabeth and Richard are celebrating twenty years of marriage with their dream vacation in England visiting Jane Austen's homes. But not even the overpowering personality of their Oxford guide or the careful attentions of their new friends can keep the tour free from lurking alarms. A box of old documents is donated to the Jane Austen Centre in Bath and Richard volunteers to help sort through it. But when he finds the Centre's director bleeding on her office floor he must ask, will the valuable letter that has gone missing lead them to new revelations about Jane Austen's unfinished manuscript The Watsons or into deeper danger?

Encounter Jane Austen alongside Elizabeth and Richard on their tour: Visit all the sites so redolent of Austen and her characters in the beautiful city of Bath. Stay in the Chawton House Library and visit the charming Chawton cottage where Jane's writing flowered, and the nearby Steventon church where her father was rector and her own faith was formed. Stand by her grave in Winchester Cathedral and enjoy your time at the lovely country estate of Godmersham. But don't let your guard down. Evil lurks even in the genteel world of Jane Austen.

Crow also announced that her latest video, “Jane Austen from Paradise to Lyme Regis”, is currently premiering on You Tube. Here Jane, in response to information from her friend Donna Fletcher Crow about the continued restrictions on travel we are experiencing due to the Coronavirus, tells viewers about her favorite holiday site—Lyme (as it was simply called in her day).

Crow, in the persona of Jane Austen, gives viewers a guided tour of Jane’s favorite seaside resort—Lyme (at that time not distinguished with the Regis title). “Jane” reads from letters she wrote to her sister Cassandra, describing a “delightful” time bathing and the assembly ball she attended, as well as her problems with the servants. She also read from her novel ‘Persuasion’, as she takes viewers to the Cobb, Captain Harville’s cottage, and other sites in her last completed novel before she went to Paradise.

Crow recently released a new edition of 'The Fields of Bannockburn’, Book One, The Celtic Cross Epics. This will be the first print edition in over a quarter of a century and will appear as an ebook for the first time. The book was chosen as Best Historical Novel 1996 by the American Federation of Press Women.

In 'The Fields of Bannockburn', three modern young people listen as the Scottish storyteller spins his tales of adventure, romance, and intrigue. While candles flicker and a Celtic harp sings its accompaniment, the question grips them: Can they find the answer to Scotland’s oldest secret?

The odyssey to uncover the mystery behind the Stone of Scone begins on the beautiful island of Iona where Saint Columba battles the druids to bring Christianity to the heathen Scots; the questions mount in ancient Caledonia while Kenneth MacAlpin battles Viking marauders and forges a new nation. Clues multiply on the storm-battered shores of the Firth of Forth, where the Saxon princess Margaret seeks refuge and then stays to initiate civility and renew faith. Finally, William Wallace lights the fires of freedom that Robert the Bruce finishes on the fields of Bannockburn.

Donna Fletcher Crow is the author of 50 books, mostly novels of British history. She has taken a number of high-level industry awards for her work. 'Glastonbury' is her best-known book, which received the prestigious First Place, Historical Novel, award from the National Federation of Press Women. Readers and reviewers have raved about 'Glastonbury', calling it "The best of its kind," "richly fascinating," "beautifully researched," "gloriously evocative," and "panoramic." One Amazon reader said, "WHAT a work! Every reader can be enveloped in the sheer scope and quality, every historian be constantly nodding at the precise detail and accuracy, and every Christian can rejoice in the fullness of scripture. For me it is simply beyond descriptive praise. I would urge all who value truth to treat themselves to a feast."

The Elizabeth & Richard Mysteries is a literary suspense series using literary figures as background: Rudyard Kipling in 'The Flame Ignites', Dorothy L Sayers in 'The Shadow of Reality', Shakespeare in 'A Midsummer Eve's Nightmare', and Jane Austen in both 'A Jane Austen Encounter' and 'A Most Singular Venture'. Watch for 'A Prodigious Sum of Corpses: Seeking Sanditon at Jane Austen’s Seashore', which will take readers to all of Austen’s favorite seashore resorts. Accounts of Crow’s visits to these sites are available on her blog under the heading “Jane Austen Seashore Tour.”

The Monastery Murders Series features atmospheric contemporary crimes with their roots buried deep in the middle ages. Books in the series include 'A Very Private Grave', 'A Darkly Hidden Truth', 'An Unholy Communion', 'A Newly Crimsoned Reliquary', 'An All-Consuming Fire' and the newly-released 'Against All Fierce Hostility.'

The Daughters of Courage, 'Kathryn', 'Elizabeth' and 'Stephanie' is a pioneer family saga based on the stories of Crow's own family and other Idaho pioneers in the Kuna, Nampa and Boise area. A short story on her blog entitled “A Nostalgic Fourth of July” is based on a scene from ‘Kathryn: Days of Loss and Hope'.

Where There is Love is a 6-book series of the enduring legacy of love and faith all based on historic people and events. The titles are: ‘Where Love Begins’, ‘Where Love Illumines’, ‘Where Love Triumphs’, ‘Where Love Restores’, ‘Where Love Shines’, and ‘Where Love Calls’.

The Lord Danvers Victorian true-crime series is an Amazon bestseller in the British Detectives category. Books in the series include 'A Lethal Spectre', 'A Most Inconvenient Death', 'Grave Matters', 'To Dust You Shall Return' and 'A Tincture of Murder'. Donna provides a no-charge download of 'A Tincture of Murder' for those who sign up for her newsletter. More information is available at her website.

A Unique Blend Of Philosophy And Humor That Leads To Contentment, Fulfillment And Happiness Is Showcased In Jay Henning's New Book, A Man Called Stan

The new novel is filled with laughter and philosophy for modern times. It is a mesmerizing look into the workings of the mind of an ordinary man who seeks the extraordinary.

It goes without saying that we all seek happiness - contentment, fulfillment and joy. The means we use to achieve those goals are as unique as the number of people who embark upon such adventures. Our personal philosophy can be based in spirituality, rebellion, or even hedonistic gratification. There are no rules.

As philosophy for modern times, ‘A Man Called Stan’ is the fictional account of one such seeker of contentment, who dabbles in all of the approaches mentioned. Presented in dead pan, third person style, this hilarious, utterly engaging book has garnered lavish praise from readers and reviewers alike. Kate Robinson of The US Review of Books started her review with some words from the book, "When you are in the gutter, you may as well wallow." Well said.

Stan is an ordinary man who is fumbling his way through life. His life flows along its turbulent course with rapids, twists and gentle stretches, while the man called Stan tries to stay afloat and to find some happiness and meaning. Every reader can relate to Stan as he flounders in the currents and seeks fulfillment while splashing about. The strands of philosophy that tie the story together offer something substantial for the reader to take away, and it will leave the reader with more than a smile. It allows us to begin to can appreciate this existence that runs from grim to magnificent.

"Decades after I wrote it, I remain proud of Stan. He is a character that readers relate to. They enjoy the book and laugh out loud, and each time someone contemplates their life and loved ones after reading it, I feel as if I have achieved something”,  is what Jay had to say about the book now.

One reviewer said, "Stan may be fictional, but his life events are all too real. You will laugh out loud, get angry with his indignation and feel for his sorrow. This book will have you reading through a weekend and waking up Monday morning with a new outlook on life. Or, maybe you’ll just smile at the good time you’ve had." Another stated, "The Stan of the opening pages is an admirable picture of unrelieved depravity. Jay shows brilliant invention in this picture of Stan."

Assisted Living: What You Need To Know About Driving Before You Make A Decision By Frances Fuller, Award Winning Author Of 'Helping Yourself Grow Old'

Multi-award winning author Frances Fuller offers a unique outlook on aging based on her own experience. Her insights will be of special interest to older readers and family members who seek understanding of senior issues.

As medical science advances and life spans become longer, many of us may someday face decisions regarding assisted living. Sadly, regardless of the amount of diligent research we might do, slick corporate advertising and hearsay advice aside, none of us will ever know what it is really like to live in an assisted living facility until we actually get there. That's a bit scary, as that decision is often final. Unfortunately it's not been possible to get an unbiased, factual and objective glimpse into the day to day experiences of life in an assisted living facility - until now.

Frances Fuller, award winning author of 'Helping Yourself Grow Old' and 'In Borrowed Houses', can now provide us with penetrating insight into life in an assisted living facility, drawn from personal experience. Her goal is not to make specific recommendations or weigh the pros and cons of such a life changing decision, but rather to draw our attention to lesser known considerations that may have escaped our notice at first. In a piece published on her website, she covered one aspect of the assisted living lifestyle we many not have explored - driving. In that piece, titled, "To Drive Or Not To Drive", she stated:

"If you are getting old and know it and thinking to move yourself to an independent living/assisted care home, you are faced with more questions than you faced when planning your fancy wedding.

"For instance, to drive or not to drive. In other words, to take your car to the retirement home or not. This is one of a multitude of issues that seems to be simple and purely practical but is not.

"I assumed, at first, that my trusty Toyota would be with me wherever I went. I even said to my son and daughter-in-law, “When I move to Virginia (if I move to Virginia), we are going on a road trip, the three of us. We will pack my car and mosey eastward, stopping wherever we feel like it. I want to see the country one more time.”

"That was before Covid-19 rearranged our lives.

"I had been driving for seventy years. A traveling family needs more than one driver, at least. I was married to a man who got sleepy after lunch, wherever he was. He also got sleepy at dusk, blaming it on the changing light. So I drove while he slept. But he was the better driver and we both knew it. He understood the car and treated it kindly; he never permitted a distraction to take his mind off the road. He also had a GPS and a contour map of the world in his head. He knew six ways to anywhere.

"For many years he had a badly damaged heart that kept going only with the help of a defibrillator. Still, he was the default driver, until one day we went out to the carport to go to the nearest small city, half an hour away, and he said, “Would you like to drive?” So I got behind the wheel. He lived two more years, but he never drove again.

"Since then, of course, I have driven just because I needed to. In most of America, a car is more essential than a house. I went to church, the grocery, the post office, doctor’s offices. I went to the next big town to visit family. Once I drove alone all the way to my daughter’s house in the San Fernando Valley, exactly 410 miles from my door to hers. I went monthly to Sacramento to a club meeting, coming home at ten p.m. The only thing I really hated about that was forgetting to turn the porch light on when I left in full daylight, then fumbling with my keys in the dark when I got home.

"But. . . which of these things would I need to do, living in a retirement home? Church maybe. And probably even that would be available in the facility. Nothing else on my list, except that I would have a daughter fifteen minutes away, but surely she would come and get me for visits and bring me back. I would eat in the dining room, so why would I need the grocery? There would be a salon in the building, haircuts always available. The home would provide some transportation, too, for medical appointments and group shopping.

"Also I needed to think of the cost of owning a car. First I had to get it across the country. That cost might equal the market value of the vehicle. Then, since I was going to another state, there would be the hassle of new licensing and registration in addition to insurance and gas. There was the fact that my vehicle was as old in car years as I was in human years. Like me it looked a little damaged by experience but kept going and didn’t complain much. An oil change once in a while, new tires every few years, a trip to the car wash in spring made it happy. The paint kept peeling off the rear bumper after that old guy in a pickup and I in my Avalon backed into one another in the parking lot at the bank. Neither of us thought it was worth reporting to our insurance company. I didn’t know then that once the paint was damaged it would keep peeling off.

"After one goes to the retirement home, I realized, there are not many ways to be frugal. The basic cost of living will not vary month to month. There is no way to skimp by lowering the thermostat or eliminating ice cream from the menu. All the necessities and a few luxuries are built into the budget. But unless I really needed it, a car would be a luxury. Even worse, it could be a problem.

"I was 90 years old. How much longer would the relevant DMV let me drive? I already had several friends with cars in the driveway and no license to drive. Some of them had been responsible for accidents. Others could no longer see or hear. I had read statistics and accepted the truth that the elderly are the worst drivers on the road. That bothered me, I admit.

"And wasn’t this move about simplifying my life?

"So I decided. No car!

"And then I thought again. . ."

There are many great books on aging available. However, many of them were written from an academic point of view. Most are penned by sociologists, doctors, gerontologists, even the CEO of AARP, and one by a Catholic nun, Joan Chittister. Chittister's book, 'The Gift of Years' is beautifully written, focusing on spiritual values and finding meaning in life. Chittister admits in the preface that she was only 70, which is the front edge of aging, and her book is somewhat abstract.

Atul Gawande’s book, 'On Being Mortal', relates medicine and old age, It enjoys high Amazon rankings, in the category of “the sociology of aging.” It contains a great deal of valuable scientific information and shows understanding of the physical and emotional needs of the elderly.

Frances Fuller’s book, 'Helping Yourself Grow Old, Things I Said To Myself When I Was Almost Ninety', is an up-close and very personal encounter with aging. It is an uncontrived and firsthand look at her own daily experiences: wrestling with physical limitations, grief, loneliness, fears, and the decisions she has made about how to cope with these and keep becoming a better person. She faces regrets and the need to forgive herself and others and is determined to live in a way that blesses her children and grandchildren.

Frances deals with many common, universal but sometimes private issues in an open, conversational tone. Her confessions and decisions invite self-searching and discussion. She tries to make sense of her own past and to understand her responsibility to younger generations. In the process she shares her daily life, enriched with memories from her fascinating experiences. Her stories and her voice — fresh, honest, irresistible — keep the reader eager for more. The end result is a book that helps create a detailed map through the challenging terrain of old age.

The result of this intimate narrative is that readers laugh, cry and identify with her mistakes and problems. Reviewers have called the book, “unique,” “honest,” “witty,” “poignant,” “challenging” and “life-changing.”

For these reasons it is a book unlike any other book on aging you will ever read. The book can serve as a primer on what lies in store for all of us, from someone who is working through many of these issues. While the book is a perfect fit for book clubs, there are many other individuals and groups who could benefit from the information and ideas in the book:

Those approaching retirement
People who are currently retired
Children of aging parents
Those who have lost a spouse
Retirement community discussion groups
Counselors
Educators
Life coaches
Church groups (men and women)

and a host of others. For group discussions, Fuller has made a set of discussion questions available at her website at http://www.FrancesFullerAuthor.com.

Readers have lavished praise on the new book. One Amazon review stated, "I find myself thinking,'I need to read this again and take notes!' It’s full of wisdom, humor, and grace. I also have committed to rereading it annually - it’s that important!" Another said, "There is valuable life experience in this book. Helping Yourself Grow Old is truly is a book for all ages, and one not to be missed." Another stated, "Beautifully written book telling timeless truths, for both the old and the young. Highly recommend this book for anyone who loves to laugh, cry, and learn wisdom from someone who has lived so much life."

Frances' prior work, 'In Borrowed Houses', has taken three industry awards. Frances Fuller was the Grand Prize winner in the 2015 '50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading' Book Awards. It received the bronze medal for memoir in the Illumination Book Awards in 2014. Northern California Publishers and Authors annually gives awards for literature produced by residents of the area. In 2015 'In Borrowed Houses' received two prizes: Best Non-fiction and Best Cover.

Critics have also praised ‘In Borrowed Houses.’ A judge in the 22nd Annual Writer’s Digest Self-Published Book Awards called 'In Borrowed Houses' “ . . a well written book full of compassion . . . a captivating story . . . ”. Another reviewer described the book as “Wise, honest, sensitive, funny, heart-wrenching . . .”. Colin Chapman, lecturer in Islamic Studies at the Near East School of Theology in Beirut said, “ . . . western Christians and Middle Eastern Christians need to read this story…full of remarkable perceptiveness and genuine hope.”

Frances has shared stories about her life in an interview with Women Over 70, and a recording is available on their Facebook page.
