Sharpe's books are riveting inspirational thrillers written in honor of her daughter Kate and her husband Steve.
It seems as though only pre-adolescents would be found guilty of name calling. However, in the US today, we see name calling being used as a political weapon at the highest levels of government. Is this the example we want to set for our children? Author Jody Sharpe has written a number of books about bullying and angels, and spent a good percentage of her time as an educator working with special needs children. She recently posted a piece on her website that offers some penetrating insights into these subjects.
"Lately, I’ve watched the news and tweets with much concern," Sharpe wrote. "Name calling is so unhealthy for all our souls and so hurtful for our children to witness. Whatever happened to a healthy debate? In high school the debate team is never allowed to name call. We know our children are watching and wondering why so many politicians and grown ups have succumbed to name calling. So what to do? I ask the angels. The thought comes to me that being examples of kindness and respect in our own words to everyone is the only way."
On the surface bullying and angels would appear to have no connection whatsoever. However both of these subjects are of particular interest to Sharpe, who has managed to bring them together in a series of books that have taken a number of awards and have garnered a large number of top rated reviews.
Sharpe, a retired special needs educator, recently released her newest novel 'Town Of Angels', a book that centers on the issue of bullying in a town in which angels are in residence. The book is now available in both print and e-book format, and is also available in print from online and traditional booksellers. In addition, the book is now featured in a new video available at her site.
In 'Town Of Angels' it is angel vs. bully in the town of Mystic Bay, California, where a well kept secret lies. Angels live as humans there. After angels appeared to three children all was blissful in the town full of psychics, and ordinary folk. But as a bully, Klaus Waxman, comes to town, Angel Ken Leighton, a storeowner, must carefully guide his flock of humans not to give to in to the bully’s efforts. As Klaus opens a store mocking the resident angels sightings, Angel Ken guides psychic Justine Greer and her family to thwart his efforts. And with the help of the indomitable oldest psychic in town, Madam Norma, the bully meets his match with soft voices and intuitive minds…
Reviewers have given the new book the highest ratings. One reviewer stated, "The book’s characters are bright and well developed and the stories in Mystic Bay move the reader through this spiritual journey with guidance from angels. The images and fascinating stories behind the Mystic Bay series would certainly be worthy of a screenplay to further bring this saga of spiritual awakening to life."
Her first book, ‘The Angel's Daughter’, was written in memory of her daughter Kate. Her second book, 'To Catch An Angel', was written in memory of her husband Steve.
Over a decade ago, when her daughter died tragically Sharpe faced down the most difficult challenge of her life. She was determined not to just merely survive, but to live; to honor the life of her beloved daughter, her twins, her husband and the rest of the rich life she had created before the tragedy. Blessed with an inherently positive outlook these trying times were strengthened by influences from the late Norman Vincent Peale to the children's book character, Wilbur the pig. For Sharpe, ministers of spirit and guidance took the form of angels. Sharpe's openness to change led her to write her first novel, 'The Angel's Daughter'. The story that takes place in the fictitious town of Mystic Bay, California and encompasses all Sharpe's attitudes about goodness, healing and moving on.
In 'To Catch An Angel', miracles happen in Mystic Bay, California, the town with the psychic and angel vibe. Angels are calling. Psychic Maggie Malone returns home to find she's swept up in the miracle of it all. She can't imagine why her mother left or who her father might be. But these questions pale in comparison to the wonder of the angels. Maggie meets writer, Noah Greenstreet. They realize they've met before, but where? Maggie and Noah embark on a journey to find our world is all awash with angels.
Jody recently appeared as a featured author at the 2019 Payson Book Festival held in Payson AZ. She also appeared on a live interview on KPJM FM, a 501c3 non-profit corporation whose mission is to provide anti-addiction and anti-abuse education to help keep the community’s children from entering into destructive behaviors. In addition, she appears in an interview on The Authors Show, in which she discusses her latest book.
Sharpe presents stories and interviews about angels in her 'Tuesdays With The Angels' blog series. She is now accepting submissions of angel stories for possible inclusion on her 'Tuesdays With The Angels' blog. She hopes to create a collection of angel stories that involve sightings of angels, interaction with angels, miraculous angel encounters and other types of accounts or stories. All submissions will be considered, but inclusion is not guaranteed. Stories may be submitted at http://bit.ly/2FV8amd.
Jody was chosen as a winner in the annual '50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading' Book Awards. She was chosen from a field of hundreds of authors through a public voting process.

The Pain Of Loss, A Universal Human Experience, Can Be Tempered By Hope Says Author Cheryl Williams, Top Female Author In The 2019 Top Female Author Awards
Williams took top honors in the awards program for her recent book, 'A Collection Of Poems: A Journey Through Life'.
All of us suffer loss. It is the human condition. That loss may take the form of the death of a spouse or child, suicide, accidental death, divorce, romantic breakups, a missing pet - the list is endless.
Losses perceived to be extraordinary can result in myriad physical and mental health challenges. According to an article on the NCBI website, titled "Bereavement in adult life", up to one-third of people who experience major loss will suffer "detrimental effects on their physical or mental health . . ." These can lead to heart disease, suicide and can contribute to a number of physical and mental disorders. Cheryl Williams, award winning author of 'A Collection Of Poems: A Journey Through Life' believes that we can and must move past the bitter pain of loss. This can happen more easily when we commit to holding on to hope, even in the midst of the most drastic forms of loss.
In her book Williams vividly describes the experience of loss:
The darkness hovers over me
A sudden sense of loss
The emptiness torments me
Thoughts flooding back and forth
Loss is the most painful phenomenon any human will ever experience. Its effects stops us in our tracks, leaving us numb, in disbelief. Frozen in silence.
“Heartbroken with despair”
"Writing this book of poems was a way to help me unburden, to share my struggles and triumphs, and that of so many I have encountered on my journey," Williams stated. "My hope is that my readers will be encouraged, and inspired to never let go of hope. Everyone deals with loss differently, and we will never forget. To this day, I still revisit the loss of my mother, but focusing on the beautiful memories we shared helps me cope.
"In order to live a productive life after loss, we must find positive ways to help us cope.
"Blame, regrets, and worrying will eat us alive. Stress results in serious health problems, that at times can be fatal. Stressing about a situation never changes the outcome of the situation. Stress only magnifies the situation.
"My poem 'A Turning Point' takes us inside the mind of a helpless, hopeless woman 'entrapped in a zone… a depressive mode… with no way out… blinded by the stressors of this world.'
"In the midst of the chaos and confusion, ‘she beholds the beauty, the sun peeking through the clouds..’ A reminder that there is still hope.. 'No matter how rugged the road gets, there is always a light at the end of the stretch.'
"According to the article, 'There is also evidence that losses can foster maturity and personal growth. Losses are not necessarily harmful."
Author Cheryl Williams was named Top Female Author in the 2019 Top Female Author Awards in the poetry category. The win came as the result of her most recent book, 'A Collection Of Poems: A Journey Through Life'. Williams was chosen from a field of hundreds of authors by a panel of judges.
Writing has helped Williams connect with her inner self, finding positive ways to cope with life's struggles. She has been writing and singing for as long as she can remember.
Throughout her childhood she sang in both the church and school choir, and also enjoyed singing at talent shows and music festivals. As an adult she also participated in concerts, performing as a solo artist.
Music and writing are the tools that bring her fulfillment and healing. Her book, 'A Collection Of Poems', takes us through the power of the human mind, good or bad, and its impact on one's direction and journey through life.
With the help of music, writing, and positive thinking, Williams found hope and purpose in life. Life isn't fair. It is unpredictable, bad things happen to good people, and we never know what tomorrow holds. Cheryl wants her readers to realize that even when faced with insurmountable, hopeless situations, even when life seems dark and uncertain, we should never let go of hope and appreciate the beauty and blessings that life has to offer, making the most of every day, loving, living, laughing, and learning. Seasons change, and there is always a rainbow after the storms of life.

About Cheryl Williams:
Cheryl Williams is a wife, mother, author, and nurse by profession, with a passion for the Arts.
Her love for poetry started at the tender age of five when she recited the poem "Grandfather Frog” for a school function. Six years later, her world was turned upside down after her mother suffered a massive stroke.
During those uncertain times, music, writing, and poetry helped her cope.
As a teenager, whenever she wasn’t caring for her mother, Cheryl spent her free time writing and directing short plays as a form of entertainment for the children in her neighborhood.
She enjoyed singing in the church and school choir, while also performing publicly as a soloist in concerts and talent shows. As a result of her mother’s illness and her responsibility to help care for her, Cheryl was inspired to pursue nursing as a way to help others heal; the same way writing and music helped her find a path to healing. She resides in New York.

High Praise For What Is Man - Male And Female By Award Winning Author Bernard Fleury
Fleury's flagship work answers three of the most pressing questions about what it means to be human
What does it mean to be human? That question has been debated by philosophers, educators and clergy the world over for many centuries. Award-winning author Bernard Fleury has produced a single publication that contains, under one cover, broadly representative views concerning the meaning of “Man.” Both readers and professional reviewers have given the book high praise.
"The first edition of the book was used for the most part with fourth year undergraduate students, criminal justice and liberal arts majors in the Philosophy of Education course and also in the graduate course Social Cultural Theories, Foundations of Education," Fleury stated. "In both of these courses 'Man' is viewed as the focal point of education since he is the subject of education—what education is all about. The term “Man” is used generically throughout the first edition and in this new edition to refer to all humans, female and male, because this is the way the term is used in classical philosophy and in the writings of the five philosophers included in both the first and new revised editions to refer to all humankind, female and male.
"This book focuses on the question 'What does it mean to be human'? unlike other best sellers like John Grey’s 'Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus'. The scope of 'What is Man? Male and Female' has been broadened to include the interests of parents in their parenting, sociologists, psychologists, and psychiatrists as well as pre and in-service teachers and other education administration personnel. All of these professions have 'Man' as their subject so it is critical to their practices how they view the 'human.' Who or what is it that they are attempting to define, teach, or develop therapies for?"
The book answers three very important questions:
What does it mean to be human?
Who or what is it that we are attempting to define, teach, or develop therapies for?
What role does the Inner and Outer Light play in each philosopher’s view?
Readers and reviewers have lauded 'What is Man?':
"Professor Fleury, Ed.D. has done a masterly piece of groundwork. He generously offers the results of his own life’s quest to those who are willing to make the effort to study his work to find meaning for themselves, others, and for our cultural-evolution." - Ruth McGoldrick, SP, MRE Adult Educator and Spiritual Director
"Dr. Fleury has done a great service for educators, parents, and all concerned with raising and educating children in today’s world. He has invited those so involved to perform that most elemental and human of efforts, namely, to reflect for themselves on what motivates them to journey with young people toward maturity. By sampling the thoughts of five men (deChardin, Buber, Dewey, Sartre, and Skinner) each of whom in his own way has greatly influenced the pedagogical process, Dr. Fleury teases out both the similarities and dramatic differences which inform these schools of thought." - Rev. Richard A Bondi
"Bernard J Fleury is a gifted and knowledgeable thinker whose work will provoke discussion in the areas of psychology, philosophy, and parenting. . . I loved the references to prominent thinkers, theologians and philosophers who have articulated on the meaning of the human person, including Pierre Teilhard de Chardin, Martin Buber, Paul Sartre, Burrhus F. Skinner, and many more. Here is a book that offers insights and opens portals to powerful truths about being human. In What is Man? Male and Female, the author offers answers and encourages readers to think about their personhood from a completely fresh perspective. It is filled with light and wisdom.” - Divine Zape
"This was a superb work, and the best I have read by this author so far, especially due to its minimal approach of opinion and scholarly presentation of human philosophy. The thinkers which are presented are diverse and well considered for their part in the development of defining what it means to be human, and we can use this to view our place in the world as well as that of others. Genuinely accessible, thanks to Fleury’s clear and concise transcriptions and translations of what each complex theory has to offer, this bite-sized edition of philosophical thinking certainly packs a punch, and could be read, discussed and appreciated again and again." - K.C. Finn
"The book discusses the interpretations of the five major philosophers – Pierre Teilhard de Chardin, Martin Buber, John Dewey, Jean-Paul Sartre, and Burrhus F. Skinner – regarding the meaning to be attached to ‘Man’. The interpretations of these five philosophers have been divided into five sections in the book. Their views are helpful when it comes to deciphering and defining who we actually are, and the nature of human growth and development. The question of what is man is actually a very fundamental one, and the book gives a lot of insights that will enable readers to understand the concept and the people around them in a way so they are helpful to each other and can move forward in dignity and respect." - Mamta Madhavan
Nearly all of Bernard's books center squarely on the theme of Light as a Someone and a Something. He believes we are all Called Into Life By The Light. Life and Light are tied together. Lifelight describes their relationship best because both our “without” (our physical being) and our “within” (our spirit) are basically light in two different forms:
1. Physical energy that occupies space, has weight, can be measured, and
2. Psychic or spiritual energy which is a force that causes things to happen and, thus, real energy, but it does not occupy space, have weight, nor can it be empirically measured.
Fleury's 'Light' book series has received numerous 5-star rated reviews. He was chosen as one of ‘50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading’ in the 2017 Book Awards. That honor came as a result of his appearance on The Authors Show. He was chosen from a field of hundreds of authors through a public voting process.
Bernard Fleury is available for media interviews and can be reached using the information below, or by email at bernlida@comcast.net. 'What Is Man? Male And Female' is available at online retail book outlets. More information is available at his website at http://www.intolifebylight.com.

School Shootings, Lockdowns, Body Shaming And Bullying: Positive Psychologist Barbara Becker Holstein Announces The Selfie Project Channel
What do you get when you combine kids, experts, podcasting, selfies and Positive Psychology? The answer is The Selfie Project, produced by Dr. Barbara Becker Holstein. Dr. Holstein hopes to bring parents, teachers, librarians, grandparents and media together to accomplish one goal: Change in the lives of young people who suffer from anxiety and a growing sense of hopelessness and despair.
The Selfie Project feature real kids with real problems who address real issues, using their preferred means of communication - selfies and selfie films. Everything is unrehearsed and unscripted.
The Selfie Project is built on two key premises: 1.) Selfies are a legitimate form of film making that results in effective communication and, 2.) Selfie film making is a tool for private expression, but can also serve to create public discussion of important issues.
These issues include, but are not limited to, bullying, suicides, social media pressures, lockdowns, school shootings, love and much more. Guided by experts, young people get a chance to speak out in their own way, whether that way is to rant, vent, discuss or bare their souls.
"These are real kids with real problems," Dr Holstein stated. "My hope is to give them a real voice."
Dr. Holstein wraps Positive Psychology concepts in forms of media that young people find engaging, relatable and inspiring. These include:
Award winning books (perfect for school libraries)
author
The Selfie Project
Award winning films and selfie films
Podcasts
Dedicated websites
Stage plays
A library of articles
Ted-style talks
"I am making my latest film 'Lock Down' available to parents and educators," Dr. Holstein stated. "We have no time to waste in dealing with the safety of our kids, physically and emotionally. I hope 'Lock Down' will help generate the type of compassionate concern and connection that moves us as a society to thoughtful and timely solutions."
"I have been concerned about children's mental health for my entire career, spanning teaching elementary school, training teachers, being a school psychologist, being and still am a clinician in private practice. Now I am going public, sharing my concerns. Briefly, 'The Selfie Project' brings to the public both dramatic films and documentaries that give us a new window by which to understand the complex problems facing kids today. The Enchanted Self Podcasts discuss with experts and kids the complex anxiety problems facing our youngsters today."
The new Selfie Project Channel is available on Youtube at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC3uaOTcYF70z5CpBh11VoUQ.
