Seifer and Vieweg join the ranks of previous Nautilus award-winners such as Deepak Chopra, Eckhart Tolle, The Dalai Lama and Carolyn Myss
Nancy Seifer and Martin Vieweg are pleased to announce they have been awarded the 2010 Nautilus Book Award for their recent release, When The Soul Awakens: The Path To Spiritual Evolution and a New World Era. Previous winners of the award include Deepak Chopra, Eckhart Tolle, the Dalai Lama and Carolyn Myss.
"We are enormously pleased," said Nancy Seifer, "to have received this award. It’s a wonderful validation of our work but more importantly, it reflects a growing interest in what the ageless wisdom reveals about the human soul and the evolution of consciousness. To us it’s further evidence that the soul of humanity really is awakening."
Based on the Ageless Wisdom, When The Soul Awakens views the current world crises as the birth pangs of a new time—an era that will unfold beyond 2012. The rising tide of human suffering that has swept the planet since the start of this millennium is serving to spark an expansion of consciousness among people everywhere. The book was written for those who are awakening spiritually and who want to know what comes next on the evolutionary journey.
Nautilus Book Awards Silver and Gold Winners are carefully selected in a three-tier judging process. The judging is done by numerous teams of librarians, editors, book reviewers and leaders in the publishing industry. Books are evaluated in a long and labor-intensive process by at least two judges for each category and at each level. Awards are given to books of exceptional quality and merit that make a literary contribution to spiritual growth, conscious living and positive social change, as well as to the arts, inspiration and creativity.
"It’s a tremendous honor," stated Martin Vieweg, "for us to find ourselves in the ranks of previous Nautilus award-winners such Deepak Chopra, Eckhart Tolle, Carolyn Myss, and so many others who have contributed to the universal stream of contemporary spirituality."
Rolland G. Smith, Emmy award-winning broadcast journalist, called When the Soul Awakens “the definitive work of research, eloquence and skillful attunement to the subject at hand.” John L. Petersen, world-renowned futurist, called it “a wonderfully written tapestry that not only illuminates the past, but also shines a bright light on what is on the horizon.” He added, “This is a very special, extraordinarily valuable volume for anyone who wants to actively participate in the biggest event in our history."
Seifer and her co-author Martin Vieweg are available for interview and can be reached using the information below or by email at booksatgwp@verizon.net. Nancy Seifer and Martin Vieweg have been studying and practicing the principles of the Ageless Wisdom for over thirty years. This book represents the harvest of their transformative journeys.
Nancy Seifer was an idealist and activist early in life, before finding her way to the spiritual path. During the 1960s, she was a Peace Corps volunteer in West Africa, a staff member at the African-American Institute in New York City, and an aide for ethnic affairs to New York City Mayor John V. Lindsay. In the 70s she directed a program on women and diversity at the Institute on American Pluralism, where she wrote numerous articles, papers, and chapters for anthologies. Her writings on American working-class women include a monograph (Absent From the Majority,1973) and a book (Nobody Speaks for Me!, 1976) that are still in use at colleges and universities.
In the late 70s, Nancy embarked on a quest for spiritual truth that led her to the ageless wisdom teachings, and to involvement in several visionary endeavors. While directing the Center for Peace through Culture, she travelled to the Soviet Union in 1986—a trip that sparked a decade-long immersion in post-Soviet Russia as spirituality was reemerging there. After writing Russian Odyssey (2003), a spiritual memoir born of that experience, she began work on When the Soul Awakens in an effort to make esoteric wisdom more accessible to a growing body of seekers.
Martin Vieweg has been a student, writer, and lecturer within the esoteric community for over three decades. Early in life he pursued a wide range of spiritual teachings and practices—from Ernest Holmes’ “Science of Mind” to Edgar Cayce’s “Search for God.” While working at the Association for Research and Enlightenment in Virginia Beach he lectured on reincarnation, dream study, and extra-sensory perception. In the mid-70s he enrolled in a program for esoteric training at the Lucis Trust, publisher of the Alice Bailey books. He later joined the headquarters staff of the Trust in New York City, serving as co-director of a global meditation project and frequent lecturer. More recently, Martin served for many years as Director of Data Management for the United Negro College Fund in northern Virginia, where he and his wife, Nancy, coauthored When the Soul Awakens.

Ami Moore, The Chicago Dog Coach, Guides The Formation of Chicago's Newest Dog Park
Ami Moore, The Chicago Dog Coach, will assist in establishing the committees for the Dog Park at Adams/Sangamon in the West Loop. The meeting will be on Wednesday April 28th at 7pm at Jack’s Tap Bar and Restaurant
Ami Moore, The Chicago Dog Coach and author of The Alphatude Attiude, will assist in establishing the committees for the Dog Park at Adams/Sangamon in the West Loop in Chicago, IL. The meeting will be on Wednesday April 28th at 7pm at Jack’s Tap Bar and Restaurant
Ami Moore has always been a staunch supporter of dog parks in urban environments. The Chicago Dog Coach believes that Activity for the dog is one of the three main needs that a loving dog owner needs to provide in order for their dog to be healthy and happy. The other important components that a dog needs from the dog owner are Alphatude (leadership) and Amiability (education).
“I am so happy," stated Ms. Moore, "that the West Loop will have a brand new dog park that will serve the community. Dogs need off-leash social time with each other in order to reduce aggressiveness”
Ami Moore was asked to share her tips for proper dog manners at the dog park with attendees.
Ami Moore attended the ground-breaking ceremonies in the fall of 2009 and has supported the efforts of Alderman Bob Fioretti and Alderman Walter Burnett in pushing for the new park at the Adams site.
The Chicago Dog Coach’s 3 Easy Tips For Dog Parks are:
1. Make sure that your dog will come when called as this can prevent dog fights.
2. Never take dog treats or human food into a dog park as this can escalate aggression.
3. If a dog fight does break out at the dog park, move your dog as far from the dog fight as possible. First make sure your dog is safe and then go back and help.
Chicago Dog Coach Ami Moore discusses activity, Alphatude, amiability and many other important subjects in her book, “The Alphatude Attitude” and in her upcoming DVD, “Urban Alphatude 1-2-3” which will be released later in 2010.
Ami Moore is widely recognized as one of America’s leading dog training masters. She has dovetailed her love of learning, her coaching skills and her love of dogs into the creation of a vibrant company that has enabled her to create harmony between homeowners and dogs in homes all over America. With over 20 years of experience in the field she invests a tremendous amount of time giving back to the community. As a dog trainer, personal coach and therapist, she assists non-profit organizations in creating and implementing therapy/service dog programs in schools, churches, community centers, prisons and other businesses.
“I always tell my clients," continued Ms. Moore, "that their dogs need leadership more than love. ‘Alphatude’ is the leadership attitude expressed in a way that the dog understands. Dogs don’t really understand abstractions like words or emotions. Dogs understand concrete communication: tone, body language and facial expression. For some people this is a difficult concept. I tell them not to worry. Just fake it until you make it!”
Ami Moore has been featured in numerous industry publications, magazines and newspapers across the country. She writes as the Chicago Dog Training Expert for Examiner.com. She is available for interview and speaking engagements. She can be reached by email at chicagodogcoach@gmail.com. More information is available at the company’s website. Author Greg Allen Attempts To Keep The Memories Of WWII Veterans Alive In War Of The Heart
WWII Veterans are now actively engaged in yet another battle. Thousands of WWII veterans die every week. Their legacy of service and sacrifice is fast becoming nothing more than a distant memory in the minds of those of us who follow them. Greg Allen hopes to keep that legacy vividly alive in his book, War Of The Heart
Greg Allen believes World War II veterans hold a place that is uniquely their own in the history of the United States. He also believes the stories of the service and the sacrifices of our World War II veterans are in danger of being lost. His hope is to preserve this legacy within the pages of his book, War Of The Heart.
“If you were to spend a day,” stated Mr. Allen, “in the rehabilitation ward of any VA Hospital you’d be forever changed. World War II Veterans are dying off at an alarming rate. Their stories need be heard and need to be preserved. Freedom is never free nor is it cheap. These men fought because they love America, and in essence, they loved their fellow man enough to sacrifice themselves. They’re common folk, just like you and me, who come from every walk of life. The scars of war will never leave them.”
War of the Heart follows the amazing journey of a young, adventurous American, Jonathan Freed. Growing up in the Deep South under the hardships of the Great Depression, Jonathan experiences his share of turmoil and hard living, but across the sea, the sinister brew of Nazism lurks - threatening to embroil him and others in a dark conflict. Like many of the era, Jonathan hears the call of military service. His career spans two wars and eventually rewards him the distinction of being the youngest chief chaplain of the U.S. Army.
“In interviewing over a dozen veterans,” continued Mr. Allen, “while writing 'War of the Heart' I found it striking how many would stare at the floor when recalling their experiences; never bragging of hero status nor stating how bold they were, just unwilling to dredge up the horror. I became a better listener in the process. I could see the tortuous thoughts, painful memories, well in their eyes as they described how scared they were as the war raged around them. In the process I gained a greater respect for those brave souls.”
“America is a country like no other, birthed out of a longing for liberty, whose citizens will willfully fight tyrants like Hitler and Mussolini who oppress that God given right. The Constitution was divinely inspired, I'm convinced of that, a model for others, and as the persecution or destruction of innocent souls occurs, Jew or Gentile, it becomes evident that the fiber of our being is to intercede. Everyone who enjoys freedom should read this book, young and old alike, for it highlights the cost of freedom’s price. The Great Depression affected everyone back then, just as the Great Recession has today, but we Americans are a giving people who hang together, unwilling to sit back while others suffer.”

Test locations are available only to test takers and interested parties who contact Dog Coach Ami Moore via her website for a spectators pass.
Ami Moore is a staunch advocate of the science of raising purebred dogs and supports the American Kennel Club in making sure that dogs are well mannered and safe in public. Even though the CGC test was designed by an organization that promotes purebred dogs, Ami is an advocate for the test for testing the gentleness of the rescue and shelter dog.
"I love the Canine Good Citizen test," stated Ms. Moore, "because it covers all the skills that any dog need to master in order to be a good family member. Every dog I own takes this test as a rite of passage."

Many therapy dog organizations use a variation of the Canine Good Citizen test in their training. The C.G.C. test can be used to determine whether or not a dog has a personality suitable for use as a therapy dog.
"In my book, 'The Aplhatude Attitude'", continued Ms. Moore, "I talk about how the human component, particularly the feelings of fear, anger and frustration, influence a dog's behavior. The human learning to control their emotions is an important part of the exam."

Local Cincinnati Author Barbara Bernard Miller Releases Mighty Inspiration: Love Letters From God
Author Barbara Bernard Miller, draws directly upon the words of God for the content of Mighty Inspiration: Love Letters From God. In her book she addresses forgiveness, relationships, joy, harmony, progress and much more
Author Barbara Bernard Miller has released Mighty Inspiration, Love Letters From God. While most authors draw upon their own minds and words for inspiration, Ms. Miller has had the good fortune to find an authoritative co-author for Mighty Inspiration: Love Letters from God – God Himself.
"Last year I had a truly spiritual experience and personal message from God that needs to be given to the world," Ms. Miller stated. “I captured the experience in writing along the way. It's a message about love, creativity, and encouragement for each of us to use our gifts to change our world. I wrote this book as a way to capture what was a profound and moving spiritual experience. As I was living this journey it was so important for me to put it into written form so that I would not lose one second of the opportunity. This was a new and deeper level to my relationship with God and I didn't want to forget a thing. Once I realized it was bigger than me and the message was designed for a broader audience, I knew I had to transform it into a published book."
In Mighty Inspiration, Ms. Miller addresses forgiveness, passion, relationships, joy, harmony, progress and much more. She serves as the vehicle for God to reach His people, but understands the message is not her own. She considers herself to be the instrument through which the words are written. The book is full of words of encouragement, as well as messages that hold the potential to change the world.
"This book would be great reading for anyone who is seeking a deeper understanding of their life's purpose. Many already have a deep relationship with God and this book will enhance that with direction, instruction and messages of love. For those who are still struggling with what they believe, this book gives them a glimpse into my experience and what I believe to be fundamental truths shown to me about love, life, and God. This book is an opportunity to change your life if you are open to possibility."
Barbara Bernard Miller recently appeared on radio stations across the country including WOCA-AM 1370 in Gainesville, FL, KFUO AM 850 in St. Louis, MO, WYZE AM 1480 in Atlanta, GA, WNTN AM 1550 in Boston, MA, Issues With Walt Shaw, WKTO in Daytona Beach, FL, WCUP AM in Green Bay, WI, Sirius XM Sat Channel 159, and Westwood One Radio Net. Children, Teens and Suicide: Nancy Seifer, Author Of When The Soul Awakens, Offers A Solution
Recent events involving young people who are led to commit suicide clearly demonstrate that a pervasive sense of despair has overshadowed the lives of many children and youth. Nancy Seifer, co-author of When The Soul Awakens, believes the answers to this perplexing modern-day crisis lies in the Ageless Wisdom teachings.
A pervasive sense of despair has become especially evident among young people in recent times. Children and adolescents are harming themselves and others in ways that were once unimaginable. Some are clearly crying out for help; others appear to be cut off from everyone and everything. Nancy Seifer, co-author of When The Soul Awakens, believes the answers to these perplexing modern-day problems lie in the Ageless Wisdom teachings.
"The wisdom teachings," stated Ms.Seifer, "explain that when we identify ourselves with the things of the material world, we experience life in isolation—from one another and from the larger whole. We see ourselves as separate from one another. We fail to recognize that we are part of a greater life. This illusory sense of isolation and separation is the essential cause of suffering, not only for young people, but for all of humanity. The “remedy”—inherent in the unfoldment of human consciousness—is the inner awakening to the essential relatedness of all of life."
In a recent article entitled 'Reaping The Fruits of Suffering', drawn from a chapter in When The Soul Awakens, Ms. Seifer offers eight specific steps that can allow us to take a wider view of the suffering all people experience.
1. Look for the lesson to be learned in any situation you might encounter
2. Practice the way of the Buddha and the way of the Christ
3. Look for meaning in every event and circumstance
4. Take the stance of the observer
5. Practice the Presence - stay aligned with the Higher Self
6. When crisis occurs, look for the opportunity
7. Recognize that the best way to transcend suffering is to serve others
8. Take the long view and recognize that 'this too shall pass'
Based on the Ageless Wisdom, When The Soul Awakens sees the current world crises as the birth pangs of a new time. The rising tide of human suffering that has swept the planet since the start of this millennium is serving to spark an expansion of consciousness among people everywhere. This book was written for awakening souls who want to know what comes next on the evolutionary journey, and to find their role in the unfolding plan.
Rolland G. Smith, Emmy award-winning broadcast journalist, called When the Soul Awakens “the definitive work of research, eloquence and skillful attunement to the subject at hand.” John L. John J. Murphy, Author of Beyond Doubt, To Appear On The Authors Show TV Through March 2011
John J. Murphy, CEO of Venture Management Consultants and author of nine books, will appear on The Authors Show TV to discuss his latest release, Beyond Doubt: Four Steps To Inner Peace
John J. Murphy, an international business consultant and spiritual mystic, will be appearing on The Authors Show TV through March 2011 to discuss his latest release Beyond Doubt, Four Steps To Inner Peace.
In this book, Murphy invites readers to contemplate their own thoughts, actions, emotions, and choices. This book, his ninth, conveys the author’s powerful message of consciously welcoming positive energy into one's life rather than subconsciously resisting it. Readers will learn that challenging circumstances, stressful dilemmas, and difficult situations exist for a reason. Beyond Doubt helps people understand these reasons and facilitate the release of tension, anxiety, guilt, grief and fear from their lives. The challenge is to overcome the “root cause” to these feelings and doubts, a self-destructive thought-system subconsciously held in mind.
“I wrote this book,” stated Mr. Murphy, “to help people identify and release any subconscious beliefs holding them back. The world is full of fear and doubt, much of it held at the subconscious level of the mind. This means that many people do not even realize this fear exists. They simply respond to life with hesitation, doubt, resistance and limiting beliefs. Learning to live life ‘beyond doubt’ is a very freeing and enlightening experience. It is how we are meant to live. This is our true nature, our authentic self.”
It is not always easy to ‘let be and let go,’ two of the four steps in what Murphy calls ‘The Ring of Peace,’ a relatively simple model designed to help ordinary people experience extraordinary peace of mind. Though the Ring of Peace model is simple, it is an extremely powerful method for learning to overcome fear, stress, negativity and doubt.
“When times get tough,” Murphy continued, “it is quite common for people to cling to what they know, even if it is bringing them down. This is like grabbing an electric wire and instead of letting go we grip the wire tighter, causing further pain. We react with attachment rather than release. Even worse, we follow with behaviors like blame, denial, resistance and rationalization.”

Author Carolyn Vines Believes Black Women Can Move Beyond Identity And Offers Inspiration To Travel Beyond Limitations
Bureau of Labor Statistics report paints a bleak picture for black women in the US in the short term. Author Carolyn Vines believes black women suffer as the result of internalized racism and sexism. She offers inspiration to all who wish to travel beyond identity in her soon to be released book, Black And (A)Broad
A recent article by Bobbi Bowman entitled Black And Income: What We Earn, based on a Bureau of Labor Statistics report, brought some sobering facts to light for black people living in America. The study showed that:
- The second highest employment-population ratio was held by black females at 59.1%
- Only 31% of management or professional jobs were held by black women, compared to 41% for white women and 46% for Asian women
- In 2008, the median usual weekly earnings of black women was $554 compared with $654 for white women. This means that black females' median earnings were roughly 85% of those earned by white females
“Americans,” stated Ms. Vines, “regardless of race, gender and ethnicity, have bought into racism and sexism. Sadly, this legacy of internalized racism and sexism continues to be embedded in our collective identity despite electing our first black president, Barack Obama. How bleak will the results of the 2010 Census be for black female identity, which has historically born the burden of internalized racism and sexism?”
Median household incomes as shown in the 2008 Bureau of Labor report estimates are $69,047 for Asians, $56, 648 for Whites, $41,630 for Hispanics or Latinos and $35,086 for Blacks or African Americans. The article proposes that this may be due to the fact that so many black families are headed by black women.
“Black women,” continued Ms. Vines, “cannot control racism and sexism. We can, however, choose to create an identity that transcends the limitations imposed by their legacy. Black and (A)broad was written to inspire and empower black women to do just that."
Black And Abroad describes how after moving from New Orleans Carolyn finds herself in the land of windmills, wooden shoes and endless gray skies. As she moves away from the remnants of her tragic childhood and America’s obsession with race, she is plunged into the depths of homesickness and depression. She travels through motherhood and a career change, and her determination is put to the test. On the way to self-discovery, she ends up finding love, soul sisters and is inspired to travel beyond the limits imposed upon her by race. In this mid-life memoir, Carolyn writes candidly about how being mistaken for a prostitute in Austria, losing her passport in Cuba and dealing with Dutch people on their bikes (among other quirky adventures) have changed her ideas about being a black woman in the world. Black and (A)broad is to be released in August 2010.
Ms. Vines is available for interview and can be reached using the information below or by email atcarolynvines@yahoo.com. More information on her forthcoming book is available at her website at www.blackandabroad.com.
