Acclaimed author and speaker Elizabeth Welles will be appearing at Paradise Valley Community College in Phoenix, Arizona on February 7, 2013. The topic of her presentation will be journaling and how journaling can help heal grief, sharpen intuition, deepen one's peace and enhance creativity. The event will be held in the PVCC Buxton Library, Building E at 18401 N. 32nd St. in Phoenix, AZ., from 12 noon to 1pm. The no charge event is open to the public and is a part of the Lifelong Learning Seminar series, presented by the PVCC Counseling Division.
"Journaling," stated Ms. Welles, "de-clutters your life. It helps you dream on paper and clears paths to your own true voice. It unveils reservoirs of creativity that lie inside you. It gives you a safe harbor in which to heal, and provides you the room where your dreams can unfold. Meditation is a thoroughly integrated art and science, long in history, with valuable implications. In a culture of increasing frenetic noise, meditation is your appointment with peace. These two key practices contribute to health and well-being, and support you in living a life of peace and joy."
On Saturday, March 2 Welles will present a 3 hour cooking-journaling-meditation experience entitled 'COJOME' to Eat Write and Relax. Participants will learn how to make four fabulous healthy desserts. The dishes are easy-to-make recipes with inexpensive ingredients from Trader Joe’s and Sprouts (or Whole Foods.). No wheat, dairy or eggs are involved in the preparation of these dishes. Participants will also experience joyful camaraderie, playful journaling exercises, and a quiet meditation before indulging in the pleasure of dessert eating. The event will be held at a private residence in northeast Scottsdale AZ.
