The suicide of Robin Williams has brought suicide into the forefront of our collective consciousness again. Pat Chalfant, CARE Certified Medium, reminds us that suicide is not necessarily the end of one's existence and that there is hope
Suicide statistics are sobering. According to the CDC website, suicide is ranked in 10th place in leading causes of death. The death of Robin Williams by suicide has reminded us that a staggering number of people not only contemplate suicide - many follow through. These statistics demonstrate that no age, race or gender is unaffected. Even those fortunate few who 'have it all' are not immune. Pat Chalfant, CARE Certified medium and author of 'Spirit Lights A Path to Mediumship' believes those who attempt to 'end it all' cannot possibly put a stop to their own existence.
"I have a story in the beginning of my book," Chalfant stated, "about a woman named Sonia whose fiancé committed suicide and subsequently she began to have suicidal ideology, too. She got in touch with me hoping to study with me until she was able to contact him on the Other Side of life for herself. I gave her a reading first and successfully identified him as a spirit trying to reach her, and because of that she asked to study with me. I told her she probably wouldn’t learn enough to be able to reach him for quite some time. She said she still wanted to try."
"She was miraculously cured of her suicidal ideology and believed that when she and I were meditating together, she saw her fiancé and knew he was alive now and perfectly well and happy. Then she saw Jesus Christ (remarkable because she was a Hindu and had never read the Christian Bible. The effects of that experience lingered so strongly with her for weeks afterward that she could close her eyes and would see the image of Christ’s face, just as he had looked when she was 'cured'.”
Chalfant has also written a column on parapsychology and interviewed Hollywood stars and the psychics who read for them for a national newspaper.
Chalfant's groundbreaking new book, 'Spirit Lights A Path To Mediumship', explains how a skeptic developed mediumship abilities and took her life down a path to a life transformed by the spiritual. She considers the book to be an "autobiographical textbook."
Pat understands that mediumship is a controversial issue, but also believes that credible mediumship holds the promise of benefits for mankind that have not been fully explored. This is especially true for those who are contemplating suicide, or whose lives have been affected by suicide.
“Often overlooked about the benefits of studying mediumship is that meditation is basic to its development," Chalfant stated. "So the mediumship student develops a path to relaxation and peace of mind which are inevitable outcomes of meditation. For the same reason the student achieves greater powers of concentration. A positive state of mind is stressed, too, for good, safe mediumship, so the student’s outlook becomes increasingly optimistic. Students have also told me their self-confidence grew after studying mediumship.”
In addition to client consultations, Pat has penned the 'Spirit Lights Song Book'. She also does readings for clients by phone and teaches mediumship development classes. She has also created a DVD entitled 'Spirit Lights Psychic Development DVD'.
