Author Grace Mattioli Announces New Release Of Realistic Fiction Novel, 'Discovery Of An Eagle'

Mattioli delivers insight through story.  She writes moving tales that combine the insight and inspiration of 'The Alchemist' with the humor and quirkiness of 'A Confederacy Of Dunces'

Author Grace Mattioli has announced the release of her latest realistic fiction novel, 'Discovery Of An Eagle'.

"I wrote 'Discovery of an Eagle'" said Mattioli, "because I’ve been wanting to write an American road story since the first time I drove cross country over 20 years ago. This experience changed me in many ways and I wanted to convey the transformative power of this experience through story. Even more, I wanted to write a story which explored issues dealing with life, death, happiness and spirituality. I’ve been contemplating such issues since I was a child, and writing this book helped me to find some answers for myself, while enabling me to share these insights with the world."

In the story line of this humorous fiction novel, 28 year old Cosmo Greco wakes up when he realizes that death is imminent. This cross country story is set against the backdrop of the American road; it is filled with vivid, soulful descriptions, humor and a cast of colorful characters, such as Crazy Ted and Truck Stop Angel. Although the second book in the Greco family trilogy, Discovery of an Eagle can be read as a stand-alone. Reviewers such as Kirkus and Midwest Book Review have called this work of realistic fiction a poignant and well-drawn soaring story that opens readers’ eyes to new perspectives.

Mattioli’s contemporary fiction books are filled with vivid descriptions- she paints pictures with words. Her characters are extremely dimensional and alive; they’re always surprising her by their words and actions. While her books are realistic fiction about such serious issues as family relations, death and addiction, they are very humorous and fun; readers will be entertained as they gain valuable insights that they can take with them long after they have finished the last page.

"Readers will enjoy this book," Mattioli stated, "because they will feel that they’re along on the journey as Cosmo and Silvia traverse vividly described landscapes and encounter many colorful characters along the way. The lovable Cosmo pulls the reader in and makes him every bit as invested in the story's outcome as is Cosmo himself.  His search for life's meaning becomes the reader's quest as well.  His struggle to overcome his fear of change allows the reader to re-examine her fears and perhaps set out on quests of her own."
