Blackwood is the author of "Passions In Paris" a romantic fiction novel that has been compared to "Love Story" and "The Notebook"
Canadian Indie author Rusty Blackwood has announced her schedule of events and appearances for November 2014. Blackwood schedule revolves around her latest romantic fiction novel, 'Passions In Paris, Revelations Of A Lost Diary', and are centered around the Niagara Falls / Buffalo / Toronto area.
November 2014 events include:
November 8th: Book-signing at Seaway Mall Coles in Welland, Ontario.
November 15th: Appearance at AVON Christmas Bazaar, First Reformed Church, 1136 Vansickle Rd. N., St. Catharines, Ontario
November 22nd, Book-signing at Fairview Mall Chapters, St. Catharines, Ontario
"With regard to events and appearances in rapid succession, such as they are," commented Miss Blackwood, "I must admit to enjoying the pace, and find it both exhilarating while at the same time experiencing a calming peace of mind in knowing that the calendar continues to fill. For an Indie author like myself, I think there is a lot to be said with regard to public forums and events, whether these forums are book signings, readings, or appearing at an event where the title of your book and you as its author is a featured commodity. It's all in meeting the public, those of whom an Indie author is dependent upon for support and purchase of their work. I'm fortunate to garner the engagements that I do, and I hope they continue to keep me busy."
Blackwood's romantic fiction novel, 'Passions In Paris', is a sweeping saga written in the tradition of Bram Stoker's 'Dracula' and 'What Dreams May Come'. It has been compared to Erich Segal's 'Love Story' and Nicholas Sparks' 'The Notebook'. The novel has also received extremely positive reviews from Reader's Favorite reviewers and has a 4-star rating on Amazon. The book was chosen as a finalist in Indie Author Land’s “50 Self Published Books Worth Reading”. Rusty was also a finalist in The Authors Show “50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading” Awards.
"Passions In Paris" celebrated a one year anniversary in June, having been released on June 19, 2013. This coincided with June being Literary Month throughout the Niagara area. Blackwood read from "Passions In Paris" at the Pelham Festival Book Fair in June at the Pelham Public Library, a part of the Grey Borders Niagara Literary Arts Festival. She also read three selections of poetry at Cafe on Main in Fonthill, Ontario and an excerpt from 'Passions' at William's Fresh Cafe in Niagara Falls.
'Passions In Paris' has received rave reviews from readers. Reader Fred Pifer stated the new romance book, "is a fascinating book of a love story that seemed to be written with me in mind. In the book 'Love Story' by Erich Segal, he told of a deep abiding love story that reminds me of Cullen and Joy’s in Ms. Blackwood’s book, but the twists of intrigue and mystery that she adds keeps the reader on edge throughout." Another said, "'Passions in Paris' I think stands it ground with these other powerful romantic stories like 'The Notebook' by Nicolas Sparks."
Readers can download the epub version of the book at Smashwords. 'Passions In Paris: Revelations Of A Lost Diary' is also available at Amazon in paperback and Kindle editions, Barnes and Noble in paperback and Nook editions, and Create Space.
