Gary Paul Corcoran says the novel goes beyond conspiracy theories to reveal an unspoken truth as discovered by three Special Ops soldiers. It is a military thriller based on actual events
Critically acclaimed author Gary Paul Corcoran and R.C. Williams Jr., the special ops soldier involved in the mission, have released the new thriller novel 'Storm Cloud Rising'.
Based on actual events, 'Storm Cloud Rising' chronicles the efforts of three dedicated Special Operations soldiers battling through a growing web of lies and subterfuge on the part of their superiors. Developed to work deep undercover, their mission was to find four terrorists operating on American soil and bring them to justice. Yet when these four men were ultimately captured and confessed to being involved in the 9/11 attacks, the Storm Cloud team received orders to ‘eliminate without delay’. Incredibly, they had in their hands a cell of ruthless jihadists, with knowledge of the darkest secrets behind 9/11, but no one at the top seemed to be interested in interrogating them. The determined soldiers of Storm Cloud team extracted those answers anyway, bringing them face to face with a shocking truth.
Woven together along parallel storylines, from the special forces training grounds at Ft. Benning, Georgia to the inner workings of the Clinton and Bush Administrations to a clandestine operation set amidst the bucolic backdrop of Haddick College, 'Storm Cloud Rising' is both a heart wrenching account of how these three, dedicated young soldiers were prepared to sacrifice their own lives in an attempt to expose the truth and a cautionary tale about the lengths to which governments will go in order to maintain their political power and keep their secrets hidden from the light of day.
"I walked into this novel project as Rob Williams’ ghostwriter, aware of 9/11 conspiracy theories but hardly a believer. In working with Rob, I learned that he had walked into his Storm Cloud special ops mission, a gung ho soldier, having voted for Bush and figuring the alpha males had won the 2000 election. He walked away from the assignment completely disillusioned with his own government and no longer able to dismiss the 9/11 conspiracies outright, based on the lies, deceit and corruption he had witnessed.”
Reviewers have enthusiastically endorsed the book. In a recent Amazon review, one reviewer stated, “The storyline is told from a perspective of personal knowledge of the feelings and beliefs of those soldiers that hold true to honor, courage, and personal sacrifice for their love of country.” Another called it "intense and breathtaking" and said, "A definite page turner. Full of suspense. Even brought a tear to my eye. Loved every minute of this book and can't wait to read the next one."

About Gary Paul Corcoran:
The product of an Irish/Italian family, Mr. Corcoran was transplanted as a boy from the clapboard New England of his youth to the stucco subdivisions that began to litter the disappearing ranches and orange groves south of Los Angeles in the 1960s. True to his rebellious nature and the folk music/coffee house idealism that helped shape his early worldview, Mr. Corcoran chose to resist the Vietnam War, was a man without a country for several years as the result and can count incarceration in a Mexican prison as one of his many colorful experiences from that era. Having pursued a love of reading and writing in one form or another all his life, Mr. Corcoran finally took this passion seriously at the turn of the millennium and has dedicated the remainder of his days to authorship.
Mr. Corcoran currently resides in Rhode Island.
