Steve Snyder, Author Of ‘Shot Down’, Named As Finalist In ‘50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading’ Book Awards

Steve Snyder was picked from a field of hundreds of authors who appeared on The Authors Show. His book, entitled 'Shot Down', has received 20 industry awards. Steve Snyder, author of ‘Shot Down’, has been named as a finalist in the ’50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading’ Book Awards Contest. His honors came as a result of his appearance on The Authors Show. Steve Snyder was chosen from a field of hundreds of authors through a public voting process. 'Shot Down' is the story of Snyder's father, who was shot down over Europe during WWII. He evaded capture and was missing in action for seven months.

"I am very delighted to named a finalist in such a highly competitive field," Snyder stated. " Having no formal writing background or training prior to writing my book, 'Shot Down', it is very gratifying to have my work be recognized. Not knowing how my first book would be received, it has been so rewarding and also humbling to receive so many positive reviews containing comments such as, 'The book really captivated me from the first page', 'A thoroughly great read, well written", and 'Couldn't put it down.'

Steve Snyder retired from VSP in 2009 after 36 years in national sales and sales management, He began his quest to know everything possible about the World War II experiences of his father, pilot Howard Snyder, and his crew of the B-17 Susan Ruth.  Gradually, it became his passion and resulted in 'Shot Down'. He belongs to numerous World War II associations and is president of the 306th Bomb Group Historical Association.
