How Mental Health Challenges Such As Suicide, Depression, And Hopelessness Are Addressed By The Wisdom Offered In The Book Of Proverbs: Wisdom Vs Wilderness By Award Winning Author Donna Louis

Louis is the multi-award-winning author of 'Miracles of Direction' and 'Book of Proverbs: Wisdom Vs Wilderness'

Official numbers on suicides and depression worldwide are staggering. According to the CDC's National Center for Health Statistics, there were 47,173 in the US in 2017 alone. Information on the NIH website shows us that 9.8 million adults had thoughts of suicide. In just the past few years we have lost a huge number of high profile celebrities such as Robin Williams, comedian, Anthony Bourdain, chef, Don Cornelius, host of Soul Train, Chester Bennington, lead vocalist for Linkin Park, Margot Kidder, actress, Brody Stevens, comedian, Mark Salling, actor, Chris Benoit, WWE wrestler, Verne Troyer, actor, Avicii, Swedish DJ, Tyler Honeycut, basketball player for the Sacramento Kings - the list seems endless. These celebrity suicides bring the issue to light, but are merely the tip of a much larger iceberg.

According to the World Health Organization, 300 million people have depression, 17.3 million in the US according to the 2017 National Survey on Drug Use and Health.

Award winning author Donna Louis contends that we can begin to find solutions to these overwhelming challenges by looking to the Book of Proverbs, as described in her latest book, 'Book Of Proverbs, Wisdom vs Wildnerness'.

"Everyone struggles with life," Louis stated. "Life is just that it is life. Nothing is perfect and to expect that it will be is ridiculous especially after what happened in the Garden of Eden with Adam and Eve. 'Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee. And unto Adam he said, because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life; Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field; in the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.' – Genesis 3:16-19. Suicide is not the answer! Prayer changes things."

"Remember the Thai Cave Rescue with the 12 boys and their coach that were trapped. The whole world came together to pray, and they were rescued. The death of Judas is the only clear example of suicide in the New Testament. When Judas, who had betrayed him, saw that Jesus was condemned, he was seized with remorse and returned the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and the elders. 'I have sinned,' he said, 'for I have betrayed innocent blood.' 'What is that to us?' they replied. 'That’s your responsibility.' So, Judas threw the money into the temple and left. Then he went away and hanged himself. – Matthew 27:3-5.

"We all need to know that even in dire circumstances such as this one with Judas God’s forgiveness is never-ending. We need to learn that whether we feel forgiven, we're forgiven. Unfortunately, at this time of the year is when suicide becomes so prevalent. People look over the year and can’t cope with the losses, depression, hopelessness they feel will never change. We all need to remember especially at this time of the year at Christmas how God brought a savior into the world his son Jesus to wash away all our sins and give us a life of abundance. Christmas is a time of Miracles! If Jesus could withstand the cross, we can withstand anything that comes our way because we need to remember individually, 'I can do all things through Christ that strengtheneth me.' – Philippians 4:13."

Louis recently announced the release of her latest Christian book, 'Book Of Proverbs, Wisdom vs Wilderness'. 'Book of Proverbs, Wisdom vs. Wilderness' delves deeply into the timeless human quest for wisdom. As all Christians know, the primary purpose of the Biblical Book of Proverbs is to teach wisdom. The Book of Proverbs provides intellectual depth, insights and exceptional wisdom on how to live a meaningful, joyful and tranquil life by honoring and respecting God as omnipotent.

The new release discusses all chapters in Proverbs 1-31 and brings insight, clarity, and basic meaning to several verses in each chapter. It clarifies why wisdom is not only essential, but mandatory in life, if one hopes to live a blessed life, versus living destitute, empty, or feeling lost or hopeless.

Louis has won a number of industry awards. She was recently chosen as the winner in the 2018 Top Female Author Awards in the Religion/Philosophy/Spiritual category. Louis was chosen from an international field of contestants by a panel of judges. She was also a recent winner in the 2018 50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading Awards.

Louis' recent wins follow three awards in the 50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading Awards contest (2015, 2016 and 2017), and two nominations in the Top Female Authors Awards.

Donna Louis' first book, 'Miracles of Direction, Miracles of Conquest, Miracles of Provision and Miracles of Purpose' helps readers explore miracles both past and present. The book explores biblical miracles that took place while Jesus was here on earth. She then references with miracles that take place on a daily basis in the modern world. She separates these miracles into four categories and presents insightful examples of each type, taken directly from the Bible.

Louis knows her subject well, as she has personally experienced four miracles. As the result of those life-altering experiences, she began an in-depth study of some of Christianity's most well-documented miracles. In her book, she attempts to expand upon and explain both the purpose and the direction of those miracles.

'Miracles' has received rave reviews from readers. One review called it "amazing, uplifting and inspirational". Another stated, "I was profoundly impressed by the writing."
