Mass Shootings In The US Will Not Be Stopped Until We Face The Truth Says Donna Louis, Award Winning Author of 'Thriving In Every Season Of Life With God'

Though it need not be said again, mass shootings in the US are at an all-time high. It has affected thousands of families nationwide. The headlines, day after day, scream at us about "Another mass shooting." Joe Biden called this an "epidemic" and "an international embarrassment."

While legislation mental health initiatives can mitigate the problem somewhat, we must look deeper at the root cause of gun violence. That root cause, regardless of how we frame it or attempt to sugar-coat it, is hatred. We can try to lessen the effect of that word by creating categories or well-crafted labels, but in the end, it is hatred in some form. Donna Louis, award-winning author of a number of inspirational Christian books recently had this to say:

"What is the greatest thing of all? Love. It is an insatiable craving. Flowers, romance novels, The Hallmark Channel, teddy bears, etc. The Bible says love is the greatest of all things. 'And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.” – 1 Corinthians 13:13.

"There is a Greek word 'Agape' listed in the Bible and Agape means the fatherly love of God for humans, as well as the human reciprocal love for God. In Scripture, the transcendent agape love is the highest form of love - (BritannicaEncyclopedia.com). The Bible says that we are to be Godlike. The Bible describes it this way, 'Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; and walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.' – Ephesians 5:1-2. Then there is the greatest known Bible verse ever, 'For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.' – John 3:16.

"Then why is it so hard for us to show love? Basketball is a great sport. Sometimes you can have great defensive games and other times you can have awesome offensive games. The highest ever scoring game was between the Detroit Pistons and the Denver Nuggets back on December 13, 1983 where the final score was 186 – 184 with the Pistons defeating the Nuggets. It is an absolute atrocity to know that mass shootings in 2021 can possibly surpass these numbers. There were 35 mass shootings in January 2021 with 23 people that were killed and 145 wounded. In February 2021 there were 43 mass shootings with 49 people killed and 152 wounded. In March 2021 there were 48 mass shootings with 70 people killed and 188 wounded - (wikipedia.com). We are still in April 2021, so final figures have not been calculated yet. When does it end?

"The Bible says, 'Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.' – 1 Corinthians 13:4-7. If God could give his son Jesus for all of us, why can’t we give of ourselves for our fellow mankind? Stop the hate and start spreading love!"

In her latest book, 'Thriving In Every Season Of Life With God', Louis presents the idea that we experience "seasons" in life, in much the same way as nature experiences seasons, with periods of both growth and decline. When we understand that, we come to see that a period of decline is not something permanent, but instead merely foreshadows a period of growth. The book, somewhat similar to the books found in 'Chicken Soup For The Soul' collections, is highly motivational and packed with powerful and engaging stories that give the reader examples of illuminating situations drawn from the lives of both Biblical-era and modern day people

As the result of those life-altering experiences, she began an in-depth study of some of Christianity's most well-documented miracles. Jane Austen Video Series To Be Produced By Award Winning Author Donna Fletcher Crow, Novelist Of British History

"On the day, the event was gratifyingly successful, but the hoped-for recording was not. This led to my producing the entire talk as a video on my own.

"And thereby was born a new career avenue. I enjoyed the experience so much I have decided to produce a series of videos on “Jane Austen: From Paradise to...”

In the first video, Jane talks about scenes that were important to her family such as the Royal Naval Academy her brothers attended, and Spithead where her brothers' boats awaited their orders to sail and where Fanny's brother William in Mansfield Park was to report.

Jane shares from her letters, such as when she teases Cassandra about the arrival of Czar Alexander I of Russia at Portsmouth for a Naval review. She reads scenes from Mansfield Park including Fanny Price and Henry Crawford's encounter with Mr. Price on the High Street and their subsequent visit to the Dockyard.

The Japanese focus their efforts on reinforcing their forward base at Lae, on the Huon Gulf. The mission of the 5th Air Force is to cut off Lae. They must do this while fighting at the end of a shoestring, a supply line ten thousand miles long, using airplanes like the much-patched B-17E Bronco Buster II or the worn P-39D Airacobras of the 35th Fighter Group. New airplanes and new tactics arrive in an uncertain trickle. The Allied infantry, Australian and American, based in New Guinea, are exhausted from fighting and jungle diseases. If the Japanese reinforce Lae, the outcome of the war in the SW Pacific will remain unpredictable.
