Beyond The Buzz - Top Motivational Speaker Rocky Romanella On Why People Still Matter Most

Renowned as a keynote speaker, trainer, and Forbes Contributor, Romanella founded 3SIXTY Management Services, LLC. With 40+ years in leadership, he served as CEO and Director at UniTek Global Services after a 36-year UPS career.

Artificial intelligence is all the rage today, and for good reasons. Nevertheless, people are fundamentally more important in business than artificial intelligence, as people bring qualities to the table that machines cannot possibly replicate. Intuition, emotional intelligence, social relationships, empathy, and trust are fundamental to cultivating customer loyalty and driving long-term success. Innovative problem-solving often stems from experience, human insight and imagination. The "human" element is essential for strategy development, balanced leadership, and maintaining the ethical and moral standards that govern successful business practices.

Top motivational speaker and best-selling author Rocky Romanella recently addressed this subject in a newsletter titled, 'Beyond The Buzz: Why People Still Matter Most'. In that article, he wrote in part:

In this edition, I want to shift the spotlight back to what truly drives every great organization: its people. I know—in a world buzzing about artificial intelligence, algorithms, and automation, this might sound old school. But here’s the reality: no technology, no tool, no trend can replace the power of a committed, inspired, and well-led team.

While AI might optimize processes, it’s people who build trust, spark innovation, and close deals. They are the heartbeat of culture, the architects of strategy, and the ones who turn vision into reality.

My belief that people are our greatest asset isn’t just a leadership mantra—it’s a conviction rooted in one of my favorite passages from history. In his 1910 speech "Citizenship in a Republic," Theodore Roosevelt delivered a timeless reminder of where true value lies:

“It is not the critic who counts… The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena…”

This excerpt—famously known as "The Man in the Arena"—celebrates those who dare, who strive, who show up with grit and heart. It’s a tribute to the doers, the builders, the leaders who face challenges head-on and keep moving forward.

That’s who your people are. They are in the arena every day—making calls, solving problems, leading teams, and pushing toward goals that matter.

So, as you plan for the year ahead, ask yourself:

• How are you equipping your people to thrive in the arena?
• What culture are you building to support their courage and resilience?
• Are you recognizing the effort, not just the outcome?

Let’s lead with intention. Let’s invest in the people in the arena who make it all happen.

Rebuilding the Bridge: People First in 2026

Over the past few years, uncertainty has taken its toll. And too often, the first casualty has been the training and development of our greatest asset—our people. It’s the first cut, the deepest wound, and the slowest to heal.

That’s why I believe 2026 must be the year we reverse that trend. Our people are not just important—they are essential. They deserve our priority, our investment, and our focus.

Disciplined Approach: Develop Leaders, Elevate Talent

If we want to build the best, the brightest, and the most informed professionals in our industry, we must treat leadership development as a strategic imperative—not a luxury. The past few years have seen training and development take a backseat. It’s often the first cut and the slowest to return. That must change.

In 2026, our competitive edge will come from how well we mentor, educate, and prepare our people to lead—not just today, but into the future.

Here’s what a disciplined approach to leadership development looks like:

• Leadership Alignment: Leaders must model the mindset of continuous learning and intentional growth.
• Mentorship Culture: Create systems where experience is passed down, and emerging leaders are coached to rise.
• Hiring for Potential: Seek out individuals with the curiosity and character to grow into leadership roles.
• Performance Development: Go beyond evaluation—invest in education, feedback, and stretch opportunities.
• Resilience & Adaptability: Equip leaders to navigate change with clarity, confidence, and composure.

Disciplined development is the bridge between potential and performance. It’s how we turn promising individuals into industry-defining leaders.

A strategic business plan must include more than vision and execution—it must include a commitment to building leaders. We’ve talked before about how disciplined people with disciplined thought create world-class organizations through disciplined action. Now, we must apply that same principle to leadership development.

Because the future belongs to those who prepare their people to lead it.

Bestselling WWII Novel, Aaron's War By Richard McMaster, Will Be Available At No Charge In Ebook Form November 4 and 5, 2025

Aaron's War is an extraordinary work that will likely take its place as one of the best WWII historical fiction novels ever written.

World War II stories still hold a special place in the minds of millions of Americans. We are enthralled by stories about this time period like Saving Private Ryan, Band of Brothers and Winds of War. Amazon best-selling novel, Aaron’s War, is a story of devotion, faith, and redemption—where the battle for one man’s soul proves as fierce as the war itself.

On the eve of World War II, Aaron Vanko learns two truths that shatter his world: his friends doubt he can kill, and his Ukrainian mother reveals he is Jewish, shattering his plans to marry the pastor’s daughter he loves. As he fights across Europe, Aaron witnesses the ruins of churches and synagogues, the horrors of death camps, and German soldiers clutching Bibles. Haunted by faith, identity, and the question of what separates belief from humanity, he returns home broken—until a twist of fate forces him to confront the German soldier who’s tormented his dreams, and to choose between vengeance and forgiveness.

The ebook version will be available at no charge November 4 and 5, 2025 at Amazon at https://www.amazon.com/stores/Richard-McMaster/author/B01LDIJ2QU.

In a story about the author, Richard McMaster, printed by The Hudson Weekly, Dennis Keller said, "There have been multiple authors that have made a significant contribution to the world of literacy. In the current era, we have come across several first-time authors with the gift of writing. Richard McMaster is an accomplished author whose works have been praised for their depth, complexity, and emotional resonance."

Keller continued with "Richard McMaster never falls into the trap of presenting his characters as simplistic archetypes or caricatures, instead allowing them to emerge as fully-formed individuals with their unique voices and perspectives.

"In addition to his skillful characterization, he is also a master of plot and pacing. The structure of his novels keeps readers engaged and invested in the story while also allowing for moments of quiet reflection and contemplation. The author’s writing is often described as 'page-turning' or 'gripping,' but it is also imbued with a sense of thoughtfulness and depth that elevates his work beyond mere genre fiction."

Richard McMaster is also the author of best-selling, psychological thriller, The Attic. The Attic is an emotional story about facing adversity and overcoming loss. When Byron Kelly’s wife dies, he faces assault charges and a lawsuit and flees to Chicago and assumes a new identity. When Byron Kelly becomes a whistleblower on the run from the FBI he hides out in the attic of a dying old man, Henry Steele. Byron cares for the old man and learns he is estranged from his daughter over the death of her mother, his wife, because of family secrets he has kept from her.

Readers of The Attic said, “Absolutely loved this book. I don’t want to give anything away, but this was the best book I have read in a long time. Haven’t done anything else for the last 24 hours. Just wonderful!” Another reviewer asked, “When they make the movie who will play the part of Byron? Who will play Sybie?”

Another book, A Love Divided by Time, is described as "one part The Notebook, one-part suspenseful psychopath story, and one part Somewhere in Time." In that book, Forrest and Allie believed they found love in a previous life and being born again was a game of hide-and-seek to find each other in plain sight, seeking their better halves, united and whole. When tragedy strikes, Forrest makes a pact to find her killer, raise their daughter, and find peace by joining her in the ever after.

A Writer's Digest critique stated, "This book is exemplary in its voice and writing style. It has a unique voice, and the writing style is consistent throughout."

The author’ favorite book is, Voyage Of Life, the life journey of Sean Buchanan is detailed through metaphoric depictions of the four stages of life in Thomas Cole's Voyage of Life paintings, childhood, youth, manhood, and Old Age. The painting’s depictions are a metaphor for his life—the verdant landscape and calm waters of childhood become turbulent in youth, and early in manhood the shores turn rocky when he faces one obstacle after another. Secrets that live in darkness can take a lifetime to see the light of day and the secret that has hovered over him since Youth is revealed late in his life.

A reader said, “While reading, you will smile, you will hesitate thinking, oh no, and you will cry, but there is a surprise toward the end. This is one of the best romantic books I have read.”

Richard McMaster is available for media interviews and can be reached at Lifevoyages@gmail.com. More information is available at his website at https://richard-mcmaster.com/. All of his books are available at Amazon at https://www.amazon.com/stores/Richard-McMaster/author/B01LDIJ2QU.

Before embarking on a writing career, he was a healthcare executive, heading up three different start-up companies, one ranked fifth largest of its kind in the United States. Water Drumming In The Soul, Bestselling Literary Fiction Ebook By Bestselling Author Eric Madeen, Will Be Available At No Charge November 1 and 2, 2025 At Amazon

Madeen is a Senior Associate Professor of Modern Literature at Tokyo City University and Lecturer at Keio University. He writes cross-genre and has penned a number of Amazon bestsellers.

Bestselling author Eric Madeen has announced that 'Water Drumming In The Soul', a work of literary fiction based on his travels in Africa, will be available at no charge in ebook form this Saturday and Sunday, November 1 and 2, 2025 at Amazon.

'Water Drumming in the Soul' is a literary love story with the water drummer being a gorgeous African lady who, at the outset, plays a stream as a drum as she sings gloriously ... to catch the attention of an American Peace Corps volunteer almost arrived au village to build a medical dispensary. By and by David becomes the hunter captured by the game. And what a rollicking game of love it is, with a fictional reality stitched into the narrative along with a bit of mischievous straying as if the author dipped into his experiences in equatorial Gabon, Africa. There, opposed to northern climes with their rather icy chimes of the Apollonian, the novel's African culture in 'Water Drumming' is slathered with the pageantry of life forces and the wicked, wild and mystery dance of the Dionysian. While David Fields' point of view is crackling as in his seeing the novel in everything, his lover, the novel's gorgeous heroine Assam, goes even deeper in her seeding the love story with chthonic spirits and a toxin in David's meals of, e.g., monkey he hunted ... to get what she wants.

Like wunderkind best-seller Paul Theroux, Eric Madeen will always think of himself as a Peace Corps volunteer, one who, just after graduating from the University of Arizona, constructed in Francophone Gabon, Africa a primary school complex in an equatorial village surrounded by rainforest … where he got lost for three days while hunting monkeys for the cooking pot … and where notably he fell in love, giving his first novel, 'Water Drumming in the Soul' a vigorous fictional reality.

Readers and reviewers have expressed high praise for 'Water Drumming In The Soul'. Zaheer Baber; Professor of Sociology; University of Toronto, said, "Madeen's storytelling prowess shines through and resonates with authenticity. The characters, particularly Assam, are beautifully developed, challenging traditional stereotypes as in presenting a more nuanced and genuine portrayal of African culture.”

One Amazon reviewer said, "Water Drumming in the Soul not only tells a passionate love story, but it also delves into thought-provoking themes like culture, identity, and the power of human connection. It's a rollercoaster of emotions that'll have you laughing, crying, and everything in between. This isn't your typical love story! This novel is well-written and full of unexpected twists that keep you flipping those pages. Plus, the characters are so well-developed that you'll feel like you've known them forever. So, if you're ready for a wild and adventurous ride, grab a copy of this modern-day classic ASAP!"

Elizabeth Montano, author of The Eternal Dawn Trilogy, called it " a novel so beautifully and realistically written I found it on par with works by whom we consider masters … Hemingway definitely comes to mind."

Eric Madeen writes cross-genre, and is the author of several books:

Tokyo-ing! - This is an apt word for this bestselling trio of tales chiming with anyone even slightly interested in Asia’s most dynamic metropolis and its glazing of layers – be they cultural or taking-wing exuberant. Madeen does deep dives in three fascinating directions and voices, including the persona in first-person female. Then doesn’t let readers come up for air because they don’t want to -- until the delicious end.

Asian Trail Mix: True Tales From Borneo to Japan, a bestselling travelogue mixes it up on the Asian Trail in a voice that's by turns personal, passionate and ohhhh so very soulful. "So I get up at dawn and marvel at fog burning off into mist tumbling down like the finest mosquito netting of silk. The hills beyond the rivers' confluence, like shoulders of a woman undressing, the way the misty shroud lifts off feminine curves, higher and higher ... I tingle all over, feeling there on Borneo the dream tug of Joseph Conrad's fiction, notably his early Malaya Quartet therein Lord Jim." By turns literarily pathbreaking and intimate, this smorgasbord of travel essays scales down the sprawl of Asia by focusing on the unique and revelatory in gemmy prose. See up close and personal the razzmatazz of novice monks at play in northern Laos, the bonding with hustling pedicab drivers in Ho Chi Minh City, the rainforests blazed on gutsy treks across Borneo and Thailand's Elephant Island and novel things Japanese. Served up nice and spicy, Asian Trail Mix is slathered across 12 rocking-it essays plus a tall tale at its glorious ending, making for a baker's dozen of sumptuousness.

Tennis Clubbed, Snubbed and Rubbity-Dub Dubbed - In historically rich Yokohama, where Captain Perry and his Black Ships cracked open Japan, the wicked shiver of the tennis snub in the postmodern present pits David Adams against K: a puffed-up xenophobic tyrant who rules over the courts of a club that has as its anthem, ironically, the promotion of international friendship, modelled on the world’s 2nd oldest tennis club on whose board Madeen had the privilege of serving.

'Water Drumming In The Soul: A Novel Of Racy Love in the Heart of Africa' will be available at no charge in e-book format this Saturday and Sunday, November 1 and 2, 2025 at Amazon.

Eric Madeen is available for media interviews and can be reached at ericsan@gol.com. All of his books are available at Amazon at https://www.amazon.com/stores/Eric-Madeen/author/B08VGRNJVW?. More information is available at his website at https://ericmadeen.com.

About Eric Madeen:

Eric Madeen is an associate professor of modern literature at Tokyo City University and an adjunct professor at Keio University. He's an award-winning author of six books, and his writing has been published widely -- in Time, Asia Week, The East, Daily Yomiuri, Tokyo Journal, Kyoto Journal, Metropolis, Mississippi Review, ANA's inflight magazine Wingspan, Peace Corps Worldwide, Japanophile, Yomimono, The Pretentious Idea, Tombstone Epitaph, several anthologies, academic journals, therein his seminal essay "Under Western and Eastern Eyes" jointly published by the Ministry of Education of the Western Federation, Russia, and the Joseph Conrad Foundation, USA, and so on.

Madeen has been featured in several radio interviews (12 in the USA and 2 in Japan) and various print media. He once made his living copywriting for then-world's largest ad agency Dentsu for clients as diverse as Mazda, Subaru, Canon, Konica, Nikko Hotels International and Sony.

He was a Peace Corps volunteer in Francophone Gabon, Africa, where he built a primary school complex in an equatorial village surrounded by rainforest, a mind-blowing experience which inspired his first book.

Holiday Books - Bestselling Author Jody Sharpe's The Dog Who Came For Christmas Available In Ebook At No Charge October 28 And 29, 2025

Sharpe was a 1st Place Winner of the 2023 National Association of Press Women's Communications Contest Award for Fiction For Adult Readers - Novellas, and the 2024 National Association of Press Womens's Communications Contest For Fiction - Novellas

Books, especially Christmas books, make great holiday gifts. Jody Sharpe has announced 'The Dog Who Came For Christmas', one of her latest books with a strong anti-bullying message, will be available in e-book form at no charge October 28 And 29, 2025 at Amazon at https://www.amazon.com/stores/Jody-Sharpe/author/B00DPL3382?.

In this book, meteorologist and psychic, Gayle Force Knight, proves to be a force to be reckoned with once more. While Gayle was sleeping, an angel sent her a vision of a future event. With her intuition, Gayle wonders, will she really meet the dog in her dream and save another one? With the help of her intuitive husband, Alex Knight, and friends, Gayle sets on a course to rescue many more. But with surprising twists and turns of intrigue, both Gayle and Alex find there are always angels at the helm as they ride on their coattails.

Most of Sharpe's book feature angels and a strong anti-bullying message.

“Every one of us may have been bullied in our young lives or as adults and there is such a need to teach the children how to overcome being bullied and how bullying hurts," Sharpe said in a recent article. "We can teach kids to walk away, tell parents or adults like their teacher, bus driver or family member if somebody has bullied them. Talk to your kids about bullying.

"An important lesson for our kids is to explain to them how kindness helps us grow into loving adults and how helping others helps ourselves grow up to be kind. Being kind can spread love around the world. It is more powerful than hate.

"I’ve written books that have won awards, I think mainly because of the themes of love, forgiveness, redemption and thwarting bullies. In my next Mystic Bay novella due to be released in 2026, bullying will once more be a theme. I love to write and the angels inspire me to realize my potential to get themes of love and hope out into the world. It is my belief that any one can change if they want to."

Many of her anti-bullying messages can be found at her website at https://jodysharpe.com/blog.

Other books by Jody Sharpe include:

To Catch an Angel - Jody is also the author of 'To Catch an Angel', written in memory of her late husband Steve. In 'To Catch an Angel', miracles happen in Mystic Bay, California, the town with the psychic and angel vibe. Angels are calling. Psychic Maggie Malone returns home to find she's swept up in the miracle of it all. She can't imagine why her mother left or who her father might be. But these questions pale in comparison to the wonder of the angels. Maggie meets writer, Noah Greenstreet. They realize they've met before, but where? Maggie and Noah embark on a journey to find our world is all awash with angels.

Town Of Angels - it's angel vs. Bully in the town of Mystic Bay, California, where a well-kept secret lies. Angels live as humans there. After angels appeared to three children, all was blissful in the town full of psychics, and ordinary folk. But as brute, Klaus Waxman, comes to town, angel Ken Leighton, a storeowner, must carefully guide his flock of humans not to give in to the bully's efforts. As Klaus opens a store mocking the resident angel sightings, angel Ken guides psychic Justine Greer, and her family to thwart his efforts. And with the help of the indomitable oldest psychic in town, Madam Norma, the bully meets his match through the soft voices and intuitive minds of his neighbors.

Town Of Angels Christmas - The bully never wins. A secret lies in Mystic Bay California. Angels live as humans there. Angel Ken, a storeowner, fears the secret will be revealed when vet, Jordana Hart, a woman with special healing abilities moves to town.

Years before Angel Ken materialized as an old man, changing the course of her life. Will Jordana recognize Angel Ken as the man from her past as they work together on a rescue mission to bring twenty-two horses to Mystic Bay before Christmas, will they see what lies before them, a Christmas story only the angels could write.

Special Needs Children, The Angels On My Shoulder is a memoir based on her twenty-five years teaching children with special needs. The book placed second in the National Federation Of Press Women's At-Large Communication contest. The book is as entertaining as it is illuminating. It's a love story about the special students and others who over the years graced her life with just that, their grace.

With hearts of angels and challenges to face, the children took Sharpe along their journeys and inspired her own life's journey of self-discovery. When sorrow came, their kindness helped her through. The synchronicity of events from high school to retirement changed her life for the better, turning her face toward heaven.

Midwest Book Review stated, "Sharpe's ability to see the good in circumstances and people identifies the 'special' in 'special needs' as she delineates her journey through the education system and those teaching and social encounters which changed her perspective and life."

"Teachers (especially those working with special needs kids) will find this spiritual and social reflection easily accessible. It's presented in vignettes which offer small, digestible bites of insight into a world where angels and kindness are present in more than one form."

Special Needs Children followed her recently released children's book about angels, When The Angel Sent Butterflies. The new book helps children understand that love from their parents and others surrounds them. Love conquers fear, and believing that angels are near can help sweep any childhood fear away. This concept is presented in the book when Angel Ken sends Jones and Kate butterflies. The book, appropriate for ages 2 to 7, is now available at Amazon and Ingram.

One of her latest books, Summer Of Angels, is a mystery novel. Meteorologist and psychic, Gayle Force proves a force to be reckoned with as she moves back to her beloved Mystic Bay, California. While sleeping, an angel sent her a vision in a dream of a future event. Gayle realizes she must use her intuition to save an old man from drowning. But who is this old man?

With the help of intuitive attorney, Alex Knight, she finds they are caught in the middle of a future crime. But can Gayle and Alex solve the case and save the old man before it’s too late? With surprising twists and turns of intrigue and love, Gayle and Alex find there are angels at the helm as they help prove the bully never wins.

In addition, on the "Tuesdays With The Angels" section of her site, Sharpe presents stories of real-life encounters with angels. The stories are available at Sharpe's website at http://www.jodysharpe.com.

Sharpe hopes to create a collection of angel stories that involve sightings of angels, interaction with angels, miraculous angel encounters, and other types of accounts or stories. Everyone is welcome to submit angel stories. All submissions will be considered, but inclusion is not guaranteed. Stories may be submitted at http://bit.ly/2FV8amd.

Sharpe's YouTube channel brings all of this together, offering segments on all of these topics. One topic of special interest is bullying, specifically as it relates to special needs children.

In addition to the National Federation of Press Women’s award, Jody was chosen as a winner in the annual "50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading" Book Awards. She was chosen from a field of hundreds of authors through a public voting process.

Jody also announced recently that two new screen treatments of her books are now available: The Angel's Daughter and Town Of Angels Christmas.

Women's Rights In Danger Of Being Lost: Bestselling Author Dr. Barbara Becker Holstein's New Book, Women's Freedom: Unfinished Love Stories Available At No Charge In Ebook Form

In the tradition of authors like Judy Blume, Dr. Holstein pushes the envelope in covering the challenges girls really face, without sugar coating it or downplaying the feelings or passions young girls experience, regarding things that are important to them at this stage of their development.

Are we witnessing the alarming unraveling of women’s hard-won rights? In today’s heated political climate, many are increasingly concerned that the strides women have made since the 1950s could soon be reversed. The relentless quest for equality, sparked by the Baby Boomer generation, seems to be entering a precarious and unpredictable new chapter. This is a moment that demands our attention and action.

The power to build one's life in any way one chooses lies at the heart of Women's Freedom, Unfinished Love Stories, the latest novel by bestselling author Dr. Barbara Becker Holstein. In a powerful blend of fiction and historical reflection, Holstein revisits the era where it all began. The ebook version will be available at no charge at Amazon October 28 and 29th at Amazon at https://www.amazon.com/stores/Barbara-Becker-Holstein/author/B001JXEZ8U?.

The feminist movements of the 1960s and 70s challenged the status quo, opening doors that had long been closed. Women began to assert themselves in every sphere—education, the workforce, and eventually, the halls of power. By the 21st century, they had not only shattered glass ceilings but redefined them, ascending to leadership roles once deemed unattainable.

In Women's Freedom, Unfinished Love Stories, Holstein turns back the clock to the 1960s, introducing readers to three young college women at a pivotal moment in both their personal lives and the history of women’s rights. Through their experiences—marked by sexual awakening, identity struggles, and the pursuit of purpose—Holstein captures the emotional and psychological terrain that defined a generation.

What do their stories reveal? That while the cultural landscape may evolve, the core desires for autonomy, love, and self-expression remain timeless. Their journeys mirror the collective experiences of women across decades, making this novel not only deeply moving but profoundly resonant.

Dr. Holstein has also announced a new book, 'Women's Freedom, The Dawn Of Possibilities'.

"This is a story about two young women coming of age in the 1960s," Dr. Holstein stated. "They live together as roommates, attending college in the city. They stay together as lifelong friends. They find themselves in love and out of love, happy and miserable, scared and confident. They fall into some mysteries they can’t solve, and some they can figure out. They reach for the stars, sometimes settling for less and sometimes grabbing more. I don’t think you will ever forget them, since you will see glimmers of yourself in these pages. Enjoy their successes and their failures. Some of the people they meet, and the things that happen to them, are funny and strange and sure to remind you of moments in your own exploration of life."

Women's Freedom, The Dawn Of Possibilities, will be available in late 2025.

Dr. Holstein is known for wrapping Positive Psychology concepts in forms of media that people find engaging, relatable and inspiring. These include:

Four bestselling, award-winning books (perfect for school libraries)

Four self-esteem workbooks for girls 8 and up

Award-winning films and coming of age selfie films

Podcasts

Dedicated websites

Stage plays

A library of articles

Ted-style talks

As a school psychologist and in her private practice, Dr. Holstein has worked with many children and parents, helping them to develop life skills in decision-making, recognition of their own talents, feel more courageous, and helping both kids and parents develop more successful inter-generational skills. Her last book, ‘Conflict and a Bit of Magic’, helps kids build self-esteem though reading the journal of a girl, identifying with the girl, and understanding they have more courage and resiliency than they thought they had. The book is based on the experiences of the already famous “girl” from 'The Truth, Diary of a Gutsy Tween' and 'Secrets, Diary of a Gutsy Teen', and achieved bestseller status in the multi-generational families category.

Dr. Holstein’s latest workbook for kids, ‘Secrets’ achieved bestseller status in the ‘Teen & Young Adult Nonfiction on Depression’ category.

Dr. Holstein's cutting-edge presentations, most recently based on the Covid-19 pandemic issues, can be found on both YouTube, Vimeo and on the Roku channel and Amazon Fire TV, titled as 'The Enchanted Self Presents'.

Dr. Holstein created The Selfie Showcase, a new project emerging from The Selfie Project, that allows young people to voice their opinions on subjects that matter to young people, including the pandemic.

The Selfie Showcase allows kids, teens, and young adults ages 13 to 18 to candidly express their concerns, worries, observations and possible solutions by creating selfie videos or films around important subjects using a smartphone. Dr. Holstein's mission is to help rectify, in several ways, some issues young people face by giving them a chance to engage with others in meaningful ways about the anxiety and stress they must grapple with constantly.

Dr. Holstein is available for media interviews and can be reached using the information below or by email at barbara.holstein@gmail.com.More information about the Selfie Showcase is available at http://www.selfiefilmmakers.com. Bennett’s ability to balance moments of humor with profound observations can keep readers oscillating between tears and laughter, creating an emotional rollercoaster that captivates from start to finish.

In 'Widowhood: The Next Chapter, I'm Still Here - Now What?' Bobbie Bennett embarks on a transformative journey that resonates deeply with anyone who has faced the complexities of loss. This poignant memoir is not just a personal account of widowhood, but a powerful exploration of resilience, renewal, and the profound changes that follow the death of a partner.

Her narrative is beautifully crafted, drawing readers into the author's emotional landscape with honesty and vulnerability. Every chapter feels like a heart-to-heart conversation. What sets this book apart is its unwavering focus on growth and renewal. Instead of dwelling solely on loss, the author illustrates how widowhood can be a catalyst for self-discovery, change, and fulfillment. She offers practical wisdom and step-by-step guidance, inviting readers to reflect on their own lives and encouraging them to embrace change. She provides a fresh and utterly unique perspective, making it clear that endings can lead to new beginnings.

Bennett’s ability to balance moments of humor with profound observations can keep readers oscillating between tears and laughter, creating an emotional rollercoaster that captivates from start to finish. In short, it’s an inspiring guidebook for anyone grappling with the uncertainties that come with loss, making it a meaningful read for those facing similar challenges. It serves as a reminder that we are never truly finished and that new chapters are always possible.

The personal narrative begins in the dark world of organized crime, where the author’s first husband brings a sense of danger into their lives. Dinner guests are asked to check their firearms at the door. She then stepped into an unexpected relationship with a younger man whose charm proved timeless, even if his ID was still getting double-checked.

Through three marriages, two funerals, and one divorce, she discovers that love comes in the most unexpected forms, including a methodical engineer who fell head-over-heels for a free-spirited former go-go dancer.

Bobbie has rebooted her life from places most people wouldn’t dare enter, making her perspective not just credible, but hard-earned. More than a love story, it’s a survival guide for life’s most unpredictable chapters. She believes if you can’t be a good example, you might as well be a colorful one. Her stories offer humor, heart, and the kind of wisdom you only earn the hard way.

"You're still here. That means your story isn't over, it's just taking a turn you didn't plan for. And that's okay," Bobbie said.

Sanctions on Russia Are Worthless Says Elizabeth Graham, Author Of From Democracy To Democrazy: A Warning To All Americans, Available In Ebook At No Charge October 24 and 25, 2025

Kirkus Professional Book Reviewers said: "Graham's new book is an intriguing and informative ‘must read’ from a woman who is probably the best-informed American on the terrifying realities concerning Vladimir Putin's motivations and his control over Trump. It is a warning to all Americans."

Bestselling author Elizabeth Graham believes sanctions on Russia are simply worthless. More than that, she believes Russia has two revenue streams to support its war in Ukraine - and the United States is one of them. Her book, 'From Democracy To Democrazy: A Warning To All Americans' presents startling information regarding Putin's attempt to destroy American democracy from within. The eBook version will be available at no charge October 24 and 25, 2025 at Amazon at https://www.amazon.com/stores/Elizabeth-Graham/author/B0CMY189NT?.

Graham had a Top-Secret Security Clearance while a senior in high school, and immediately upon graduation began working undercover with the CIA. She later joined the SAIC's Foreign Systems Research Center (FSRC) for 12 years. Eight of these years were spent studying Russia and Russian, and she managed the largest Russian-language military, technical and intelligence data base/library in the U.S. She began to travel to the Soviet Union and then became one of the very few Americans to move to the USSR. She lived under Communism in the Soviet Union, then Russia, and Central Asia long enough to become bi-cultural - she became Russian. Her first-hand knowledge and understanding of life in a communist or dictatorship country is shared with Americans in her book and in her Substack by the same name (egraham.substack.com). In a recent Substack post she wrote in part:

The democratic world has failed Ukraine in its courageous fight for independence from Russia, with the United States playing a notable role in this disappointment. Under Mr. Trump’s administration, America has strayed from its democratic ideals. The once-stalwart executive chair in the Oval Office now teeters on the brink of collapse, a fitting symbol of Mr. Trump’s wavering allegiance. One moment, he casts votes in support of Russia at the United Nations, seemingly siding with the aggressor in their conflict with Ukraine. Just weeks later, he delivers a speech to the global assembly, proclaiming Ukraine’s potential triumph in its quest for democracy. This contradictory stance raises profound questions about America’s commitment to its core principles.

NATO countries, which still includes the US, think-tanks like the Rand Corporation, and others who declare themselves Russian “experts” are suggesting peace agreements which clearly demonstrates a lack of knowledge regarding how Putin operates and why.

The sanctions – as a means of deterrent – have failed miserably yet are still considered the toughest measures nations can take, short of war. Russia has skirted around these penalties and laughed at their authority. The Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) is a military alliance of post-Soviet states which includes Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan. It was originally created in 2002 for collective defense, but more recently has supported Russia in actively delivering the very commodities and merchandise sanctioned by the US and Europe. For example, Kyrgyzstan is the affiliate link to purchase automobiles and then transport them to Russia.

“Since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, the US, UK and the EU along with other countries including Australia, Canada, and Japan have imposed more than 16,500 sanctions on Russia. (Wikipedia) The main sanctioned target has been Russia’s money. Foreign currency reserves worth $350B and about 70% of the assets of Russian banks were frozen. Gold, diamonds, and technology used for making weapons are also on the list. The G7 countries (the world’s seven largest economies) have imposed a maximum price of $60 a barrel on Russian crude oil, to try and reduce its earnings.” (BBC, “Sanctions on Russia and have they affected its economy?” 23 February 2024).

And while the Western world freezes Russian banks and Russian financial assets, black cash from Russians have purchased Trump-labeled properties. Craig Unger has written: ‘Indeed, the way the Russians invested in Trump-branded real estate revealed all the tell-tale signs of money laundering. The fact that properties could be bought via all-cash purchases and owned by anonymous limited liability companies that masked the beneficial ownership made Trump-branded real estate ideal for laundering vast amounts of money, which is precisely why they were so appealing. In fact, a 2018 Buzzfeed investigation found that across his developments, Trump and his partners sold at least $1.5 billion worth of condos to shell companies, cash buyers, and others who raised red flags for money laundering risk.” (Craig Unger’s Substack, published on Oct. 6, 2025) So what good does it do to freeze Russian money, when Trump himself is helping the Russians launder their black cash and turn it into viable US dollars - which then returns to Russia to pay their bills and finance the war with Ukraine. Black cash is undeclared income usually from illegal sources used to evade taxes.

In 2006, Putin bombed a school in Beslan (North Ossetia region of Russia) that was captured by Chechen rebels demanding their country’s independence from Russia. One hundred and eighty-six Russian children were killed. Andrey Nikolayevich Illarionov, a senior economic and policy advisor to Mr. Putin declared he could not emotionally deal with the consequences and the number of children killed. He moved to the U.S. and assumed a job as a senior researcher at The Cato Institution, a libertarian think tank in Washington, DC. In an interview with Newsnation Illarionov stated: “I have heard so much through all these years about the oligarchs, about how it is important to put sanctions on them. If you would like to make life miserable for these people, it’s OK. But if you think those sanctions would make changes in the decision-making process of Mr. Putin, it’s wrong. It’s a mistake. Russia is NOT a democracy. You can punish 145 million Russian citizens, and it will not change the decision-making process of Putin.” (In From Democracy to Democrazy, pages 136-137).

Russia’s primary income sources are (1) exports of its vast natural resources and in particular oil and gas. They also have larges sources of minerals, nickel, gold, and iron ore along with agricultural products such as wheat, and (2) their economy also operates with a lucrative black market consisting of nefarious sectors linked to Russian Organized Crime (ROC) - another division of Putin’s government. This source of revenue includes drugs, prostitution, money laundering, murder, arson, cyber-attacks, and other specific offenses.

Trump labeled condos have laundered billions of dollars of black cash, and of course Trump gets a fee for these transactions. Illegal drug distribution and sales across the U.S. is perpetually growing. NCDAS (National Center for Drug Abuse Statistics) reports 51.2 % or over half of people 12 years of age or older have used illicit drugs in the United States. Drug overdoses have killed over one million in the U.S. since 1999. (NCDAS Statistics) Russian Organized Crime (ROC) is in every US state and their primary function is drug distribution - earning billions of dollars that go back to Russia - again, to fight the war in Ukraine.

So, if the sanctions are ineffective, then what will work to stop the Russian aggression in Ukraine? Mr. Putin understands one fact: the use of force. Russian troops and drones entered European airspace and waters in October 2025. While these nations strive to protect themselves from US-imposed tariffs and pressures, they also face potential threats of military intervention or invasion by Russia.

One essential question to consider is, “would Mr. Trump buttress Russian invasions of other countries since Russian financial sources have procured large sums of income for himself and his family - OR would he support NATO and our previous allies?”

The full text of the piece is available at https://substack.com/@elizabethgraham.

Graham also announced the upcoming release of a new book, 'Survival: Democracy's Struggle To Survive'. 'Survival' is unlike other political or American government books available today. It is a comparative assessment, an inspiration, and an intriguing collection of Substack messages from some of the best-known and best-selling authors in the last decade covering the terrifying realities of today's political life, U.S. government, global challenges, and critical current affairs. It is an exhaustively explored and thoroughly investigated analysis of the deep, dark, clandestine linkage between Trump and Putin - a relationship which has plagued world politics and dismantled the United States government since 2015. Contributing authors include Craig Unger, Charlie Sykes, Steven Beschloss, David Adelman and Dr. Sanford Mayer. The book will be released later in 2025.

All of this information and much more is available in Graham's book, 'From Democracy To Democrazy: A Warning To All Americans', now available at Amazon at https://www.amazon.com/stores/Elizabeth-Graham/author/B0CMY189NT?. The bestselling eBook version will be available at no charge October 24 and 25, 2025 at Amazon. More information is available at her website at https://democrazy2020.org/.

About Elizabeth Graham:

Elizabeth Graham lives in a quiet rural city in northern Arizona. She had 4 children and has 3 grandchildren. Her oldest daughter died July 16, 2016 - three months before the U.S. 2016 election and while living/working in Japan. The Tokyo Police ruled her death a homicide by an unknown substance – possibly a poison - which is the signature lethal method used by Russians. There is more about her death in From Democracy to Democrazy.

Elizabeth was indoctrinated at a young age by her father who was a senior manager working undercover with the CIA. Her college days were in Los Angeles with the desire to become a high school teacher. However, she was destined to study Russia, Russian language, and live a life of Top-Secret clearances and undercover work. This led to senior nonprofit management positions and consulting jobs in strategic places like Moscow and St. Petersburg in Russia, all the former Soviet - Central Asian countries, and Ukraine, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and many other locations. In this process of living and working abroad, she became bi-cultural - American to Russian and back – only to find that her birth country was in the process of losing its democracy and becoming a dictatorship.

Water Drumming In The Soul, Bestselling Literary Fiction Ebook By Bestselling Author Eric Madeen, Will Be Available At No Charge October 18 and 19, 2025 At Amazon

Madeen is a Senior Associate Professor of Modern Literature at Tokyo City University and Lecturer at Keio University. He writes cross-genre and has penned a number of Amazon bestsellers.

Bestselling author Eric Madeen has announced that 'Water Drumming In The Soul', a work of literary fiction based on his travels in Africa, will be available at no charge in ebook form October 18 and 19, 2025 at Amazon.

'Water Drumming In The Soul: A Novel Of Racy Love in the Heart of Africa' will be available at no charge in e-book format October 18 and 19, 2025 at Amazon.

Books for School Libraries: Bestselling Nature Book With Fun Fantasy Stories, Big Ears Jack And Friends, Brings The Magic Of The Sonoran Desert To Life

'Big Ears Jack and Friends' is a collection of tall tales featuring extraordinary animals and plants from the Sonoran Desert of Baja California that can bring young people's love for nature to life, generate interest in wildlife and foster respect for environmental issues.

Books that present stories about animals hold significant value in education. These types of books engage children in myriad ways and can foster deep emotional connections. When kids read about a brave dog or a loyal feline, they can engage with themes of bravery, loyalty, and friendship without the emotional complexities that come with human characters. This emotional detachment makes it easier for them to explore and understand challenging topics like friendship, loss, and identity.

Animal books stimulate creativity and imaginative thinking and have always been important in the lives of kids and favorite books for children of any age, from newborns to teens (even adults!). 'Big Ears Jack and Friends', by award-winning author Earl Vincent de Berge is a best-selling collection of charming tales featuring animals and plants from the Sonoran desert of Baja California. Coyotes, foxes, boojum trees and bobcats are among the main characters in these enchanting fables, creating a rare book that is both entertaining and educational, and would make a valuable addition to school libraries.

This new young reader fantasy book is an enchanting collection of 15 imaginative short stories celebrating the wild animals and plants that live in the hottest desert in the Americas, on the narrowest peninsula in the world, Baja California, Mexico.

The main character in these delightful stories is Big Ears Jack: a very big jackrabbit with huge ears -- and magical powers to use for good! Jack is the king of desert kindness, a good friend to all desert critters.

Among Jack’s friends readers will meet Nosey and Wag, mischievous coyote brothers; Blue Dasher, a racing dragonfly; the Kangaroo Rat Chorus; tree-lizard Boris; Giro the dust devil; Hawk Conchita and the red ants; Lady Treble Clef, a watchful cactus; Paulina, the puma poet; Diana the musical tarantula; Lady Chrona, a sea lion who dreams of flying; a scheming sea gull named Swindler; the beautiful bobcat Miss Mucha Purrs; Mr. Shellie, the chatterbox tortoise; and Young Red Fox and his sweet love, the lovely rabbit Adorna -- along with many others.

In a review of 'Big Ears Jack,' an AWA reviewer said, "One of the book’s greatest strengths is its world-building. De Berge weaves the flora and fauna of Baja California into the narrative, making the setting feel like a character itself. Talking cacti, dust devils playing tag, and wise desert tortoises enrich the stories, placing readers in an enchanting ecosystem where the line between reality and fantasy blurs.

"The themes of community, creativity, and environmental respect run throughout the collection. Young readers will enjoy the magical adventures and witty dialogue, while adults will appreciate the underlying messages about cooperation, individuality, and harmony with nature."

In his review on Amazon Mark Winheld stated, "If you're up for more fantasy fun, you'll be tempted by chapter titles like 'Sheriff Diamondback and the Egg-Thieving Coyotes,' or 'Dianna the Musical Tarantula,' or 'Swindler (a thieving seagull) and Big Umpo the Sea Lion,' or 'Lady Treble Clef and Dust Devils Rescue a Javelina Family,' and many more."

Reviewer Essien Asian said, "The author presents educational information in detail while using the dialogue between the characters to stimulate young readers' imaginations. The mix of strategically placed pictures, an engaging narrative style, and thought-provoking subplots regarding these animals ensures that young readers will learn vital lessons in diplomacy and survival from 'Big Ears Jack and Friends' while enjoying a captivating adventure.

‘Big Ears Jack and Friends' is available in print and ebook form on Amazon at https://www.amazon.com/stores/Earl-Vincent-de-Berge/author/B09R6M1G4Y?.

De Berge is also the author of a dramatic and exciting travel memoir, 'A Finger Of Land On An Old Man's Hand'. In this book, readers are immersed with four explorers in a transformative journey through Baja California in 1962 and 1964, inspired by 'The Forgotten Peninsula' by Joseph Wood Krutch. The book received a 5-star review from ReaderViews, and another reviewer called the book, ". . . a beautifully written, fabulous tale of an incredibly brave and daring journey."

Earl has published three collections of his poems, “Allegro to Life,” “Swans to Carry Me,” and “Wind in the Elephant Tree,” which touch on nature, human nature, love, desert silence, and life in Guatemala.

All of de Berge's books are available at Amazon and other online book retailers. More information, including an excerpt from the “Baja book” and a pdf of selected photos with insider details revealing Baja in the 1960s, is available at https://www.earldeberge.com.
