Bestselling Author And Award-Winning Film Maker Dr Barbara Becker Holstein Announces Semi-Finalist Placement For Film , No Charge Ebook Giveaway

A special screening of the film was held July 1 in Redbank, NJ. Women's Freedom, Unfinished Love Stories, will be available at no charge in ebook form July 27 and 28, 2026 at Amazon.

Bestselling author and award-winning film maker Dr. Barbara Becker Holstein has announced her latest film, I Had An Affair With My Husband, is a semi-finalist in the Filmonaco 2026 online film contest.

A special screening the film was held July 1 at Basie Center Cinemas Theatre in Red Bank, NJ and opened to rave reviews, due to the film's clever and emotionally rewarding premise.

The story explores a unique and humorous dynamic between a married couple. The wife finds herself falling in love with a new voice her husband has developed, which leads to an improved intimate life but also triggers intense jealousy in the husband toward his own voice. The narrative follows their journey as they navigate these unusual feelings, eventually seeking help from a therapist to address the disconnect between the husband's persona and this new "identity."

Ultimately, the couple reaches an honest understanding. They realize that while the voice is a fantasy they can occasionally enjoy—and perhaps even expand upon with other personas—their real love for one another remains the foundation of their relationship.

The film is a lighthearted romp that uses an unusual scenario to explore real themes of honesty and fantasy within a marriage.

The film will be released later in 2026.

"I'm so excited about our film," Dr. Holstein stated. "I'm excited to make it available soon. There is an earlier version of the story on Vimeo. As a psychologist my interest in love and relationships is very important to me. Another one of my films is Can Dreams Come True? The film is about a couple who fight, feel awful and then come around to better times. This film has been in film festivals and received honorable mention several times. I have also made it available to the public on Vimeo at https://vimeo.com/658354129. Films and talking about love and marriage and relationships in general never get old. I hope viewers enjoy the film and I hope dreams come true for everyone."

She also announced that the ebook version of one of her latest books, Women's Freedom, Unfinished Love Stories, 2nd Edition, will be available at no charge July 27 and 28 at https://www.amazon.com/stores/Barbara-Becker-Holstein/author/B001JXEZ8U. Bestselling Author And Award-Winning Film Maker Dr Barbara Becker Holstein Announces New Film, I Had An Affair With My Husband, No Charge Ebook Giveaway

A special screening of the film will be held July 1 in Redbank, NJ. Women's Freedom, Unfinished Love Stories, will be available at no charge in ebook form June 28 and 29, 2026 at Amazon.

Bestselling author and award-winning film maker Dr. Barbara Becker Holstein has announced a special screening for her new film, I Had An Affair With My Husband. The screening will be free and open to the public and will be held Wednesday July 1 at 6 pm at Basie Center Cinemas Theatre, 36 White Street, Red Bank, NJ.

"Both myself and my husband, Dr. Russell Holstein are very excited about the film," Dr. Holstein stated, "The film developed in our minds as we found ourselves reacting to some things that happened to ourselves. Without giving the plot away let me just say that the story that developed was one that we lived through. We were the patients in real life that had to work through what we felt. As psychologists we ended up believing that there are many facets to romance that are difficult but also can be fun and amazing. And this is so important as most people in a relationship really hope it can work.

"This film makes clear how some amount of confusion can also lead to fun and challenges that can be handled. In fact, get ready to laugh your way through this film. It is funny and reveals how some of life's romantic difficulties can be handled and better understood."

The film will be released in late June, 2026.

In Women's Freedom, Unfinished Love Stories, 2nd Edition, Positive Psychologist Barbara Becker Holstein explores the struggles and desires of young women in the 1960s: the complexities of sexuality, identity, and self-discovery.

The Baby Boomer Generation Unlocked The Doors to Freedom Says Dr. Barbara Becker Holstein, Author Of Women's Freedom: The Dawn Of Possibilities

Women's Freedom, The Dawn Of Possibilities, will be available at no charge in ebook form May 15, 2026 at Amazon.

We should give credit where credit is due. The Boomer generation, born between 1946 and 1964, started a profound grass-roots revolution that transformed our society. This group, the grandparents and great-grandparents of today, shattered glass ceilings, enabling women to advance in education, politics, and the workplace. As a result, women began to ascend to high-ranking positions in government and make lasting contributions across an array of professions.

During those years, the bravery of leaders like Martin Luther King Jr. and John F. Kennedy inspired a generation. Their visions were not mere dreams—they instead demanded our attention and action.

Yet, in today's polarized climate, there are concerns that women may be at risk of losing some of those rights for which the Boomer generation fought so hard. Ironically, the term “Boomer” can sometimes morph into a punchline, often suggesting a disconnect from contemporary realities.

But who were these women really? What did they look like? What were their concerns? What was it about their day to day lives and experiences that propelled them to create and then embrace the freedoms that women enjoy today?

That time period is the subject of Dr. Barbara Becker Holstein's latest book, 'Women's Freedom: The Dawn Of Possibilities' available at no charge in ebook form May 15 at Amazon at https://www.amazon.com/stores/Barbara-Becker-Holstein/author/B001JXEZ8U?.

In this engaging book, the lives of two young women, Madison and Ginger, take center stage. As they prepare to embark on their college journey in the fall of 1960, they are filled with excitement and anticipation to leave their homes behind and embark upon new adventures. From moments of heartfelt laughter to deep, unsettling fear, and everything in between—this story is filled with romance, mystery, and a dash of nostalgia that will evoke a whirlwind of emotions.

The backdrop of historical events and cultural shifts serves as a poignant reminder of the complexities these young women faced, offering a blend of humor, challenge, and romance. With limited resources and support, Madison and Ginger navigate a landscape where pregnancy often meant grappling with heart-wrenching decisions, from motherhood to adoption and beyond. It is an unforgettable journey filled with thrilling twists, and endearing friendships.

In the first book in this series, 'Women's Freedom, Unfinished Love Stories', Holstein turns back the clock to the 1960s, introducing readers to three young college women at a pivotal moment in both their personal lives and the history of women’s rights. Through their experiences—marked by sexual awakening, identity struggles, and the pursuit of purpose—Holstein captures the emotional and psychological terrain that defined a generation.

What do their stories reveal? Although the cultural landscape continues to change today, the fundamental yearnings for autonomy, love, and self-expression endure as timeless and unwavering truths. Their journeys mirror the collective experiences of women across decades, making this novel not only deeply moving but profoundly resonant.

More information on both books is available at https://www.amazon.com/stores/Barbara-Becker-Holstein/author/B001JXEZ8U?.

Bestselling Thriller Novel, Massage World, By Author Eric Madeen, Will Be Available In Ebook Form At No Charge March 28, 2026

Madeen is a recently retired professor of modern literature at Tokyo City University and an adjunct professor at Keio University. He writes cross-genre and has penned a number of Amazon bestsellers.

Bestselling author Eric Madeen recently announced that his latest thriller novel, 'Massage World', will be available at no charge in ebook form March 28, 2025 at Amazon at https://www.amazon.com/stores/Eric-Madeen/author/B08VGRNJVW?.

In describing the novel, Madeen stated:

Whose world is it anyway? To find out peek under the drape - and see the body in pain.

As to why crack the multicultural thriller 'Massage World' and dive deep into both sides of the massage industry, and marvel at the simultaneous unravelling of both. From the get-go you'll witness the force of that ambiguity, repelling as it is with jumper-cable sparks as in conflict galore, exceeding reader expectation and thus creating narrative drive, a kind of drive that at one point is literally hell on wheels of a massage table.

One onto which a dirty vice detective is lashed and bumped down each stair one thud at a time of the luxurious mansion housing Massage World. The mayhem throughout brings chuckles and laughs at the hilarity from SoCal, Japan and back.

As the global demand for massage therapy skyrockets, from luxurious spas to discreet outcalls with the latter evident in the media cycle, one ambitious therapist, Ingrid Swanson, dares to open Massage World, defying the local underworld kingpin.

Enter Jack Cobb, a ruthless massage parlor lord determined to seize control of Ingrid's business through a series of illicit "massage wars," aided by said vice-cop soliciting "extras" while Cobb’s sister on the “inside” flashes donut rolls of dead presidents to entice therapists over to the wild side. The chaos escalates as a media frenzy erupts on the hard-soled heels and handcuffs of a dramatic police raid, sparking neighborhood protests and the crackle and cackle of so much more, the raid itself a delirious curtain call of sorts as in each character hitherto mentioned is present but only one side bows the other out handcuffed into the cameras and newscaster announcing: "You get more than just a massage at the new 5* health spa Massage World."

Curiously, a fearless female biker gang figures in the ending, riding their rice rocket Yamahas and Hondas up the grandiose stairs of Massage World, then roaring up a floor and still another, then the thrust downstairs and onto the mean streets laid with burning rubber and wild-arced wheelies in the hellacious chase of Jack Cobb. Where he roars into is for you to savor.

Your being smitten with this Dionysian nightmare, clashing as it does with those on both sides of the tracks, be they crystally (holistic) or oily in a read you'll find zesty and informative as in what goes down or doesn't in the sliding signifier of Massage World, draped - or the heck with the drape.

'Massage World' has received rave reviews from readers:

“It combines gritty realism, lurid sensationalism, and darker-than-black comedy to conjure up a phantasmagoric vision of a world in pain … So earthquaking powerful and fresh it is, I've never read anything quite like it, not even close.” — Larry McCaffery, author notably of Some Other Frequency: Interviews with Innovative American Authors and former Professor of English and Comparative Literature at SDSU.

“It’s a sizzler of a thriller bursting with eccentric energy.” — William Luvaas, winner of a Huffington Post Book of the Year award.

“Very cinematic with a canny and calculated construction. A really high-octane potboiler. Motion and emotion. Exotica and erotica circling from SoCal to Japan and back to SoCal. Conflict galore. Kinkiness with and without aromatic oils. Who could ask for more?” — Harold Jaffe, Professor Emeritus of Creative Writing and Literature at San Diego State University and former Editor of Fiction International.

The ebook version of ‘Massage World’ will be available March 28, 2026 at no charge at Amazon at https://www.amazon.com/stores/Eric-Madeen/author/B08VGRNJVW?

Other books by Madeen include:

Eric Madeen's bestselling travelogue, ‘Asian Trail Mix: True Tales from Borneo to Japan,’ scales down the sprawl of Asia by focusing on the unique and revelatory in gemmy prose. See up close and personal the razzmatazz of novice monks at play in northern Laos, the bonding with hustling pedicab drivers in Ho Chi Minh City, the rainforests blazed on gutsy treks across Borneo and Thailand's Elephant Island and novel things Japanese. Served up nice and spicy, Asian Trail Mix is slathered across 12 rocking-it essays plus a tall tale at its glorious ending, making for a baker's dozen of sumptuousness.

In a review for 'Asian Trail Mix', one reader said, "The writing is lush and emotive. It contains images and turns of phrase that will stay with you." Another said, "'Mr. Madeen has a knack for taking one into the depths of a country and introducing the reader to fascinating customs and interesting characters. Five stars!"

Another stated, "The author has a discerning eye for subjects of local interest at each of the intervening destinations, and truly commendable is how he’s able to draw out characters, getting their riveting stories while sketching remarkable details on the Asian trail. Eric Madeen, an American based in Japan, is clearly fueled with high-energy. It’s a rush to keep up with him, both on and off trail, either way transcribed in a voice that’s more than a language function but the sum totality of this writer’s experiences and means of expression. Madeen has been there and proof is in his prose.”

'Water Drumming In The Soul' - a fiery tale set in steamy equatorial Africa, Peace Corps volunteer David Fields, is on mission: to build a medical dispensary in a village where spells are cast on enemies and fear of a witch doctor reigns. David seldom has his bearings – cultural or geographical – and must fight a cocktail of tropical maladies as well as social taboos as he throws himself into work. Until... he meets Assam. Captivated by her water drumming, her playing the stream as a drum, David is drawn to her early on and becomes the hunter captured by the game. And what a rollicking game of love it is - with a tension or excitement between them that never dissipates, until the haunting end.

‘Tokyo-ing!’ - This is an apt word for this trio of tales chiming with anyone even slightly interested in Asia’s or rather the world’s most dynamic megalopolis and its glazing of layers – be they cultural or taking-wing exuberant. Madeen does deep dives in three fascinating directions and voices, including the persona in first-person female. Then doesn’t let readers come up for air because they don’t want to - until the delicious end.

‘Tennis Clubbed, Snubbed and Rubbity-Dub Dubbed’ - In historically rich Yokohama, where Captain Perry and his Black Ships cracked open Japan, the wicked shiver of the tennis snub in the postmodern present pits David Adams against K: a puffed-up xenophobic tyrant who rules over the courts of a club that has as its anthem, ironically, the promotion of international friendship. Between pops of new cans of tennis balls, Madeen has interwoven chapters seemingly lived as a prof, but herein a delirious fun-house look at Japanese university life. The whole wonderous unwrapping of a kimono’s obi likened by Peter Goodman, publisher of Stone Bridge Press, to a position paper on Japan.

Eric Madeen is available for media interviews and can be reached at ericsan@gol.com. All of his books are available at Amazon at https://www.amazon.com/stores/Eric-Madeen/author/B08VGRNJVW?. More information is available at his website at https://ericmadeen.com/.

TBI And Coma Survival: New Bestselling Literary Fiction Ebook, Little Bit Of Faith, Available At No Charge December 9 And December 10, 2024

Saverio Monachino amalgamates an odd collection of authors like John Irving, Tom Robbins, and Louise Penny into one, and the servings he presents come complete with a side order of comedy. Saverio believes adding a bit of humor helps wash down the truth while he discusses how open to interpretation the human condition can be.

Bestselling author Saverio Monachino has announced that 'Little Bit Of Faith', a fictionalized novel based on his coma experience, will be available at no charge in ebook form December 9 through December 10 at Amazon.

What do people experience while in the comatose state? The accounts vary, ranging from no awareness or dream-like experiences, while others say they have vivid, detailed memories of events that occurred while they were in a coma. Saverio Monachino, a survivor of traumatic brain injury, awakened from a coma and wrote 'Little Bit Of Faith, a bestselling, award-winning work of fiction that is unlike anything written about this experience.

Anyone who handles a patient load knows how difficult some can be. Dr. Selwood (a neuropsychologist) had a real doozy of a case assigned to her, Dr. Arthur McAiden. When McAiden first began his outpatient stint at the Kessler Institute he had trouble stringing cognitive sentences together. Selwood suggested he write his thoughts down, and so he did. At first, he wrote of the accident itself, which had her wondering how he knew what he did. Then his story moved on and intertwined his recovery process with what she believed to be a work of fiction. If he was trying to have fun at her expense, she did not know. Either way, it didn't matter, but, when he moved on and began describing his take on the triune others have used to describe his faith, she wanted to file this away in the circular trash can beside her desk. Then one of his characters came to life and paid her a visit. While her patient had struggled to re-enter the three-dimensional space those living on earth call home, Dr. Selwood, in turn, now struggled to accept the continuum of life Arthur had presented to her.

The ebook version of 'Little Bit Of Faith' will be available at no charge December 9 through December 10 at Amazon at https://www.amazon.com/stores/Saverio-J.-Monachino/author/B002BMEFXS.

George Point, in a review in the Bucks County Herald said, " . . . And there is more, much more to ponder in “Little Bit of Faith,” as Monachino leads us through Arthur McAiden’s comatose, fevered inner life, weaving tales of an international bio-terrorist plot, a plot to wrest control of his biotech company, and a plot to topple another Arthur — a medieval Arthur — as well as Chaucer’s “The Miller’s Tale.” The full review is available at https://comicfictionnoir.blogspot.com/2024/10/george-points-book-review-of-little-bit.html

Improbable as it may seem, Monachino’s gentle wit and informed narrative style are the glue that hold this metaphysical melange together. If you’re game to take a deep dive into the nature of consciousness, of bosons and other subatomic particles and the search for the ultimate intelligence, with a side trip into the Arthurian legend, 'Little Bit of Faith' may just be your cup of mead."

Monachino is also the author of the bestselling novel 'By Any Means'. In this spellbinding comic murder mystery, Monachino weaves a compelling narrative that immerses readers in a world of intrigue, humor, and suspense.

Leaking top secret information to the Press happens all the time. Just ask those holding government offices in Washington D.C. Up north in Montreal Inspector Gervais has experienced a perfected form of this art.

It all started on a typical summer night with Giorgio sitting on the roof reciting poetry, dressed from head to toe in leather and watching a man in the alley commit murder … with a hard salami. His life literally falls into the hands of the good Inspector and that’s when the fun begins.

“What,” Inspector Gervais wants to know, “do an overweight grocer, batman, tax attorneys, a dysfunctional Italian family, city politics and an esoteric secret society that may or may not be the remnants of the Knights Templar have in common?” Not much, but this is all he has to go on as he races to solve a gruesome murder ‘By Any Means’. Montréal in the summertime can be fun, murder can be funnier.

Readers and reviews alike have praised ‘By Any Means’. One Amazon reviewer said, "By Any Means is a fast paced, intriguing read. It immediately thrusts you into an unusual murder setting, which both grabs your interest to continue and introduces you to the witty writing style of the author. The book unfolds into a collage of family and other relationships, informative diversions into interesting areas of learning, and a front row seat to figuring out 'who dunnit’. I enjoyed the many interesting characters along with the wit and humor. I look forward to more from Saverio."

Another stated, "Funny? Yes, and the comedy is truly both deep and subtle. A mystery? Indeed, a murder mystery but those pages seem to cover the deeper mystery investigated by the author. It is obvious that BY ANY MEANS has gone to great lengths to open up more important questions than a who killed whom, as one begins to see the outlay of dysfunctional family dynamics, its development and picturesque guides to finding the right way to reconnect. After all, what in the world is more important, being the head of a super-secret organization that is hundreds, if not thousands of years old, or finding a mate who will hold your hand and bring a smile to your face. If that isn't enough of a psychological thriller then the author layers another common paradigm for the unrepentant on top; why is politics so much more important than truth."

Bestselling Historical Fiction Ebook, Aarons War, Detailing A Jewish Soldier's Moral Dilemma And Struggles With PTSD During WWII, Available At No Charge October 22 Through October 24, 2024

Aaron's War is a masterful piece of writing that will likely take its place as one of the best WWII historical fiction novels ever written. McMaster deftly weaves coming of age, antisemitism, PTSD, and substance abuse into a masterpiece of a novel.

Bestselling author Richard McMaster has announced the ebook version of his historical fiction novel, Aaron’s War will be available at no charge at Amazon, October 22 Through October 24, 2024.

Antisemitism, PTSD, and substance abuse are just some of the topics explored in the gripping narrative of Aaron's War. All of these issues are viewed through the eyes young Aaron, an innocent protagonist thrust into the harrowing reality of World War II. Far from being modern-day phenomena, these challenges have persisted across generations, making their exploration in historical contexts all the more relevant and compelling.

In this coming of age story, Aaron Vanko, an innocent Iowa farm boy, must wrestle with the ultimate test of humanity that so many veterans have faced: the willingness to kill in the name of duty. Aaron finds himself torn between his allegiance to his country and his personal belief system. Remarkably, just hours before deployment, a shocking revelation rocks his world: he discovers his Jewish heritage, shattering his sense of identity to its core.

Despite his sense of dread, Aaron forges ahead, driven by a profound sense of duty and patriotism. But now he finds he must battle on two fronts - the enemy forces without, sworn to wipe the Jewish race from the face of the earth, and the ethical dilemma within himself.

The ebook will be available October 22 through October 24 at https://www.amazon.com/stores/Richard-McMaster/author/B01LDIJ2QU?.

Readers and reviewers have praised Aaron's War. USA Today bestselling author Holly Roberts called Aarons War, "A coming of age story that grips your soul and takes you on a thought-provoking journey." Tom Porter, author of All I Need To Know About Business I Learned From A Duck stated, "An engaging, informative and thought-provoking tale of survival, love and faith. Make room for Richard McMaster on your list of up-and-coming authors." Lynn M. Safris said, “The descriptions and details given throughout this author's writing draw the reader into each page, making Aaron's journey feel like their own. I believe this book would appeal to a wide audience of readers. I truly enjoyed reading Aaron's War and I highly recommend this book."

Richard McMaster is also the author of A Love Divided By Time, described as "one part The Notebook, one part suspenseful psychopath story, and one part Somewhere in Time." In that book, Forrest and Allie believed they found love in a previous life and being born again was a game of hide-and-seek to find each other in plain sight, seeking their better halves, united and whole. When tragedy strikes, Forrest makes a pact to find her killer, raise their daughter and find peace by joining her in the ever after.

In McMaster's latest book, Voyage Of Life, the life journey of Sean Buchanan is detailed through metaphoric depictions of the four stages of life in Thomas Cole's Voyage of Life paintings, childhood, youth, manhood, and Old Age. The painting’s depictions are a metaphor for his life—the verdant landscape and calm waters of childhood become turbulent in youth, and early in manhood the shores turn rocky when he faces one obstacle after another. Secrets that live in darkness can take a lifetime to see the light of day and the secret that has hovered over him since Youth is revealed late in his life.

Author Saverio Monachino's Murder Mystery, By Any Means, Will Be Available At No Charge In Ebook Format June 10 Through June 12, 2024, At Amazon

Saverio Monachino amalgamates an odd collection of authors like John Irving, Tom Robbins, and Louise Penny into one, and the servings he presents—psychological fiction thrillers—come complete with a side order of comedy. Saverio believes adding a bit of humor helps wash down the truth while he discusses how open to interpretation the human condition can be

Author Saverio Monachino has announced that his murder mystery novel, 'By Any Means', will be available at no charge in ebook form June 10 through June 12 at Amazon.

In this spellbinding murder mystery, Monachino weaves a compelling narrative that immerses readers in a world of intrigue, humor, and suspense.

Leaking top secret information to the Press happens all the time. Just ask those holding office in Washington D.C.

“What,” Inspector Gervais wants to know, “what do an overweight grocer, batman, tax attorneys, a dysfunctional Italian family, city politics and an esoteric secret society that may or may not be the remnants of the Knights Templar have in common?” Not much, but this is all he has to go on as he races to solve a gruesome murder By Any Means.

By Any Means will be available in ebook format at no charge June 10 through June 12, 2024 at https://www.amazon.com/Any-Means-Saverio-Monachino-ebook/dp/B071FQ3T52/ref=tmm_kin_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&dib_tag=se&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9._N68xl597i0kqKon2rNMmHtWnfiluuXn-z-2NUDnDsZE7am3BmveiRSlUmlOrnrZ.m-S2Jq9wqgOAai0iwf7334DkFb6RSnBP9ejOj_PNmOU&qid=1717677442&sr=8-1

Saverio is also the author of 'Little Bit of Faith'.

Saverio was recently interviewed on "Let's Talk" on WDVR Radio in Sergeantsville, NJ. The interview is available at his website at https://comicfictionnoir.com/about/.

Saverio has also been interviewed by Theresa O’Brian. The interview and book review of ‘Little Bit of Faith’ will be posted in the Bethlehem Press soon (June 12 or 19).
