There are hundreds of YouTube videos, some with 100K views preaching rapture soon for Christians, many citing signs in the Middle East of impending war or 3rd Temple as signs that the “Bride of Christ” will be taken to heaven soon. "When asked about the end of the world, Christ said to understand the book of Daniel," Ruhling stated. "Daniel 8 shows a goat from the west that stomps a ram with two horns--kings of Media and Persia (verse 20) but Gabriel said the vision is at the time of the end, verse 17."

"Those areas are now Iraq and Iran. With Saddam gone, the vision is half fulfilled. War with Iran is likely, but how or why?

"Did the pope bring peace to the Middle East with his signed statement of brotherhood with the Grand Imam in February? Will Trump’s Peace Plan be the answer?

"Christians get expectations from the apostle Paul who wrote, 'the day of the Lord comes as a thief in the night, for when they say, ‘Peace and safety,’ sudden destruction comes' 1Thessalonians 5.

"The Bible also says 'the day of the Lord comes' and all [Muslim?] nations will be gathered against Jerusalem, Zechariah 14.

"Like key words in Google, the phrase, 'day of the Lord' is linked to end-times and may be parallel to Egypt’s 'night of the Lord' when calamity fell in Exodus 12.

"The US parallel to Egypt includes their killing babies, Exodus 1. The US has 70 million abortions. Egypt enslaved Israelites and the US has enslaved most people in alcohol, tobacco, drugs we call ‘healthcare’ but are a leading cause of death--negative lifestyles and bondage while professing freedom.

"The day of the Lord will bring judgment to the US like the night of the Lord brought it to Egypt. In the day of the Lord, God will 'shake the earth mightily,' Isaiah 2:12,21.

"But how would a calamity bring rapture to Christians? Christ’s wedding parable in Matt 25 shows them as asleep with lights out. That could mean they misunderstand the wedding parables. Let’s look at Luke’s wedding parable for the rapture.

"Christians are to be ready to open when Christ ‘knocks.’ Luke 12:36,37. The knock decodes to an earthquake because that’s how the Laodicean church where He knocked ended. They were lukewarm with materialism like western Christianity today.

"The rapture comes in the next verse. Rapture means overwhelming joy--'Blessed is that servant whom his Lord finds watching; He will gird himself and make him sit down to eat and will serve him.' That’s what Christ did at the Last Supper on the eve of Passover.

"Some Christians might be disappointed that this isn’t what they want, but that rapture comes ‘at the last trumpet,’ 1Cor 15:51,52. Luke’s ‘blessing’ is better than a quick snatch to heaven--it offers an opportunity to do something for God that brings high reward.

"For the servant who is ready and open, 'He will make him ruler over all that He has…To whom much is given… much is required.' Luke 12:44,48.

"This isn’t about sliding under the gate to heaven. It’s about a choice to be 1st responders in a crisis--to serve God like Moses or Elijah with power to shut the heaven or turn water to blood (bringing the trumpet plagues of Rev 8) for 3 1/2 years before the New World Order beast gets equal time--all of this is seen in Rev 11:3-7; 13:5.

“We must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God,” Acts 14:22. Christ’s clues of a huge 9-11 event have timing explained by Numbers 9:10,11 where Passover (time of judgment) is in the 2nd month 'as the days of Noah.”'

"Another example is how Christ ended his parables. He said 'watch' (clue for Passover), you don’t understand--because it’s like a man traveling to a far country. If Israelites took a long trip and couldn’t get back for Passover, they were to keep it a month later--a 9-11 clue found in Numbers 9:10,11.

"The parable in Matt 24:40 begins--'Then [same time as the Flood, 2nd month] shall two be in the field, one taken.' Luke 17:37 shows Christ’s reply to 'Where, Lord?' He said, Where the body is, there will the eagles gather. It’s better to be left behind. Sorry to say those books and movies were fiction!"

Refugee children are now at the forefront of our reality. Every country struggles with what to do with the burgeoning numbers of people crossing borders to flee some sort of misery. 2. Demonstrate compassion as your child learns. Listen to them! Create realistic boundaries for behavior, and correct children in respectful ways when they make mistakes.

3. Listen when people that have different points-of-view try to convince you they are right and you are wrong. Don’t automatically shut them down. Listen with real open ears. Say, “I’ll have to think about that.” It’s very honoring to the other person to know they encouraged you to think. Don’t dismiss people out-of-hand because their opinions are different. Try to avoid unfriending them!

4. Watch and read diverse media. A singular media diet can become addictive and unhealthy, just like only eating one food!

5. Read books yourself and with your children that include multicultural and diverse individuals. That way the foreign becomes the familiar.

6. Learn about Adverse Childhood Experiences and their comprehensive consequences. Recent research shows how critically children are suffering in this country from the consequences of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs). ACEs contribute to tremendous long-term suffering and health issues for both immigrants and our own population.

World Leaders Can Stop Conflicts By Following Guidelines For Children - Julie Penshorn, Children's Book Author And Director Of Smart Tools For Life Issues Statement

The United States and North Korea appear to be on a collision course. The rhetoric escalates day after day, reminiscent of those schoolyard situations that start with name-calling or sand-kicking and often escalate to something worse. This is nothing new. What is new is that these two nations are not threatening to use sticks or stones or fists - the threat includes the use of nuclear weapons.

Julie Penshorn, children's book author and CEO of Smart Tools For Life, is an expert in conflict resolution and anger management skills and techniques for children. She recently issued a statement that demonstrates that the basic skills we teach to small children are essential to adult interactions. These skills can routinely be practiced in every aspect of life: the home, the classroom, the workplace, and on the international level, to create trust, transform conflict, and enhance relationships.

"As we watch with worry the escalating rhetoric between the United States and North Korea, it’s easy to see that the two leaders involved are not working to gain the trust of each other," Penshorn stated. "They are refusing to become conflict 'partners' committed to working out their disagreements in a way that preserves the dignity and safety of each party/nation.

“Neither President Trump nor Kim Jong Un demonstrate that they know how to stop and  breathe, the first step in our simple conflict resolution process, detailed in the new children’s book, 'The Barnyard Buddies STOP for Peace.' Instead, they are putting untold numbers of people at risk,” continue Penshorn.

Writing for CNN last week, Adam Mount, a senior fellow at the Federation of American Scientists, said, ". . . If the Trump administration can cease its careless threats, the US and its allies could begin a real conversation" about ways to improve the situation.

Penshorn said it doesn’t matter what your politics are; conflict is non-partisan. Life is much more peaceful when people use an effective conflict resolution process.

"We all have experienced the unhappy, frightening, or even dangerous situations resulting from conflicts where one, both, or all parties is clearly dangerous. If we reflect on those times, they usually are very similar: someone won’t stop his or her actions long enough to breathe and honestly examine how emotions like fear and anger are taking control from intelligent thought.

“Harvey Weinstein reportedly was asked many times to ‘Stop!’ Many of the women saying ‘me too’ also asked their accosters to stop,” Penshorn reminds us.

A new NBC News and Wall Street Journal poll shows that 48 percent of currently employed women in the United States say that they have suffered an unwelcome sexual advance or verbal or physical harassment at work.

“These actions are foreign in an atmosphere of caring and mutual respect such as we seek to develop in our classroom communities and our larger world,” said Penshorn. “Social and emotional learning is becoming an accepted part of preschool and elementary schools precisely so that we can learn to interact more successfully with others.

“So, while emotions give us important information and should not be discounted, they should not be acted upon without a period of thoughtful reflection and ‘cooling off,’ or, stopping,” summarized Penshorn.
