Hunter D. Darden, author of ‘I Only Eat Trout – Learn To Cope With Worry’, has been named one of ’50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading’. Her honors came as a result of her appearance on The Authors Show. Darden was chosen from a field of hundreds of authors through a public voting process. ‘I Only Eat Trout – Learn To Cope With Worry’ is written to help children learn how to cope with worry and anxiety.

Hunter D. Darden grew up in Elkin, NC, the daughter of a doctor and a kindergarten teacher. Her most valuable lessons about life were learned through her parents, both influential role models. Through the years, Hunter enjoyed writing as a hobby. She developed her writing skills as the editor of her high school newspaper. She wrote feature humor stories for the paper. Hunter went to Meredith College in Raleigh, NC. She graduated with a B.A. in Psychology, continuing to enjoy writing as an outlet.
Her first book, ‘The Everlasting Snowman – A Story Of The Cycle Of Life’, is an inspirational book for children and adults alike. The book explains that the natural cycle of life goes on and on. ‘The Everlasting Snowman’ was the catalyst for her other books that followed in quick succession. Hunter enjoys using her words to touch and lift hearts or to bring about a much-needed laugh.

Hunter D. Darden wrote her children's book, 'The Everlasting Snowman', after her father's death in an effort to find a gentle way to explain the natural cycle of life to her children. It was the catalyst for four more children's books, a photography book, a novel, and a book that is a collection of humor/inspiration articles she has written for The Charlotte Observer. She has have been the recipient of the Excellence in Creative Writing Award by the NC Federation of Women's Clubs and the Meredith College Career Achievement Alumnae Award.
