Kristin Barnes, Author Of Children's Book 'Haysoos The Honu', Now Appearing On The Children’s Authors Show

Haysoos is a Hawaiian sea turtle. The story, written in the tradition of ‘The Dot’ by Peter Reynolds, teaches children age 4 through 8 the power of self-acceptance and how to appreciate differences

Maryland children’s book author Kristin Barnes is now appearing on The Children’s Authors Show radio. In her interview she discusses her latest release, ‘Haysoos the Honu’. Haysoos the Honu is a Hawaiian sea turtle. He loves the company of other sea creatures, but he feels different from the fish, eels, and manta rays. His bulky shell slows him down, and his lungs mean he has to interrupt playtime to surface for air. Haysoos believes that being different is a bad thing, until he meets a special friend who shows him just how special it is to be different.

“I wrote this children’s book,” Barnes stated, “to share a message of self-acceptance to both children and adults with a character pulled from my own life to whom all age groups can relate.  Sea turtles are amazing creatures to begin with; Haysoos' personality mixes well with his physical attributes to effectively communicate the idea that we are perfect the way we are made - it's our perspective that changes everything and makes life the joyful experience it should be.”

Kristin Barnes understands what it means to be different. She made history as the first female aircrew to report to the F14 community in 1993 and spent the rest of her flying career as the sole female aviator in her squadrons. Kristin experienced first-hand the challenges of fitting into a male-dominated culture.  Shared with children through an age-appropriate story, Haysoos is a simple yet compelling demonstration of Kristin’s real-life experiences.

"Children will benefit from reading Haysoos' story,” Barnes continued, “by seeing his perspective on life transform throughout the story.  Through his example, they too can see that their talents, gifts and abilities are truly unique and worthy of appreciation. We are each special in our own way when we embrace those characteristics that define as well as differentiate us."

Kristin Barnes’ interview is now running at The Children’s Authors Show. Kristen is available for media interviews and can be reached using the information below or by email at haysoos_honu@yahoo.com. ‘Haysoos The Honu’ is available at Amazon, Books-A-Million and Barnes and Noble. More information is available at Barnes’ website at http://www.HaysoosTheHonu.com.

About Kristin Barnes:

A native of Vermilion, Ohio Kristin Barnes is a Commander in the U.S. Navy serving as an instructor at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD.  She began her military career with a commission from the Naval Academy in 1992 and spent the next 16 years training, flying and deploying to combat zones as an F-14 Tomcat aircrew.  She made history as the first female aircrew to report to the F14 community in 1993 and spent the rest of her flying career as the sole female aviator in her squadrons.

Kristin is a decorated combat veteran with flights logged over Bosnia, Iraq, and Afghanistan.  In 2006 she was assigned to Pearl Harbor, Hawaii for three years, which is the impetus for 'Haysoos, the Honu'. While on assignment to the Middle East in 2009, the seed of a story featuring Haysoos the sea turtle that began in Hawaii grew into a reality.  The story was self-published by Mascot Books of Herndon, VA in March of 2012.

Kristin will retire from active service in 2015 with the hopes of sharing more adventures of Haysoos in the years to come.  She lives in Arnold, MD with her dog, The Big Lebowski.

Dr. Barbara Becker Holstein Teaches Schoolchildren How To Turn Diary Entries Into Books

Dr. Holstein is both a Positive Psychologist and the author of ''The Truth (I'm A Girl, I'm Smart And I Know Everything) Dr. Holstein recently appeared at Ocean Township Intermediate School in Monmouth County, New Jersey to encourage children to become authors

Dr. Barbara Becker Holstein recently appeared at Ocean Township Intermediate School in Monmouth County, New Jersey. Dr. Holstein was one of six authors invited to teach talented groups of 6th graders who wish to refine their writing skills. This year marks her fourth year as a guest author. Next year she will be inaugurated into the school's Hall of Fame.

Dr. Holstein taught six different classes of 6th graders in the course of the day.  Her topic was "From Diary Entry to Fiction, Poetry and More." After sharing a ‘Truth for Girls’ video, 'The Truth for Girls, Puberty, Mood Swings and More', Dr. Holstein taught the children how to first write a diary entry and then how to change, modify, exaggerate or brainstorm off of it, to turn it into a fictional work of some sort.

"The fiction that the students produced," Dr Holstein stated, "in a one-shot deal was fabulous.  I was amazed at their abilities to use expressive language and to a full plot that could even expand into a book from just a short diary entry.  Never underestimate the potential creative skills and ingenious ideas of kids. I can't wait to do this again."

Dr. Holstein's book, ‘The Truth, (I’m a girl, I’m Smart and I Know Everything)’ is a first in positive psychology. It is a fiction book for girls, tweens and teens. Written by an 11 year old girl as a diary, Dr. Barbara has embedded within the story positive truths and concepts geared to help girls develop self-esteem and resiliency

Her second book in The Truth Series is 'Secrets: You Tell Me Yours and I’ll Tell You Mine…Maybe!’  Now the girl is 13. She handles many adolescent issues, including a crush, moving, a death in the family, feeling fat and problems with girlfriends.  Kids and parents have a book they can share and use as a sounding board for needed communication between the generations. Both 'The Truth' and 'Secrets' are great for grandparents, older siblings and teachers to establish lines of communication with the tweens in their lives.

"If I can help children," Dr. Holstein continued, "move from reading another child's diary, like 'The Truth', and/or write their own entries into diaries and then move to an inspirational level of fictional writing that helps them believe in themselves, then I feel blessed in my work as a positive psychologist and educator."

In addition to running a thriving practice, Dr. Holstein is a very successful author across many genres. The human spirit, with its capacity for survival, growth and joy, has always been a subject of interest for Dr. Holstein.  She is available for media interview and can be reached using the information below or by email at drbarbara@enchantedself.com.

Award Winning Minnesota Author Karl Vanghen Releases New Historical Fiction Novel, 'Lowertown’

‘Lowertown’, Vanghen's latest historical fiction novel, centers on St. Paul’s part in the Civil War. The engaging storyline, carefully researched and richly detailed, is based on the formation of the Civilian Alliance Committee, formed to replace police and fire personnel who answered the call to arms in 1861

Award winning Minnesota author Karl Vanghen has announced the release of his latest historical fiction novel 'Lowertown'. The book details St. Paul’s part in the Civil War, built around the formation of the Civilian Alliance Committee, to replace police and fire personnel who answered the call to arms in 1861.

After the Union army’s terrible loss at Bull Run, President Abraham Lincoln called for every able-bodied young man between eighteen and forty-five years of age to volunteer to fight for the life of their country. For seventeen- year-old Devon Finch, watching his older brother Randolph leave to fight in the war is the hardest day of his life. But with most of St. Paul, Minnesota’s firemen and policemen marching alongside Randolph, the city needs the men still home to ensure the safety of the remaining population. Enlisting in the Alliance Committee, and organization dedicated to doing just that, Devon finds himself a police officer in the most notorious section of the Mississippi River’s most notorious port of call.

Devon, once a simple boy filled with grand vision, now finds himself in the seedy world of Lowertown on an extraordinary adventure of love, fear and danger. Filled with river men, degenerates, honorable men, women both decent and despised, and gamblers, this brightly-and broadly-colored tapestry of St. Paul’s most lively and dangerous neighborhood will mature a young boy quickly.  But a dangerous confrontation may put an end to his time patrolling Lowertown’s streets – and may just cost him his life in the bargain.

"I wrote this book," stated Mr. Vanghen, "in part, to correspond with the Minnesota History Center’s 2013 exhibit, 'Minnesota and the Civil War.'  Although it is fiction based on fact, it will give readers an insight into the life and times of St. Paul’s Lowertown in 1861, and the types of people who may have lived there during an era filled with unrest, expansion, and war.  To the dislike of those who thought better of it, the city was recognized as 'the bawdiest town on the river.'"

"Readers will enjoy this book because it touches on the experiences of a young boy thrust into the seedy world of St. Paul’s most lively and dangerous neighborhood, Lowertown, during the first year of the Civil War.  His experiences with river men, honorable men, women both decent and despised, will provide the reader with a cross-section of humanity that poured into St. Paul during the first great wave of settlers, shortly after the Dakota Indians ceded millions of acres over to the new territory."

Karl Vanghen is available for media interviews and can be reached using the information below, or by email at kvan79@comcast.net. More information is available at his website. ‘Lowertown’ is available at Amazon.com and at his website at http://www.KarlVanghen.com.

Profile:

Born in 1929, Karl is a lifelong resident of  St. Paul, Minnesota.  After serving aboard the battleship  U.S.S. Wisconsin during the Korean War, he followed  his discharge, by building a career in graphic arts, using his father’s advice to  “always do more than you’re paid to do”.  Eventually he became Vice President of the firm.  His interests in writing and painting began at an early age, and eventually led him to become an award-winning wildlife artist, and a published author. Karl’s book “My Enemy, My Beloved” won The Authors Show Gold Medal Award, while featuring him in their book, “50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading”.

His latest book, 'Lowertown', took root while attending the St. Paul Police Academy’s Civilian Patrol, wherein he learned about St. Paul’s part in the Civil War, that of forming the Civilian  Alliance Committee, to replace police and fire personnel who answered the call to arms in 1861.

Karl’s love for history and research have currently propelled him to begin writing his fourth historical novel, 'Rivertown', which is set in Stillwater, Minnesota as a sequel to 'Lowertown'.

Karl lives with his wife in Shoreview, Minnesota, a suburb of Saint Paul.

God And Science: Jerry Pollock, PhD., Recommends Caution And Skepticism When Considering Energy Healing

While it is a fact that healing can be achieved through various forms of energy work, it is not necessarily true that all forms of energy healing work. Furthermore, it is possible that, due to the nature of energy, it is possible that the attempt may do more harm than good

Out of need, curiosity or perhaps desperation, people tend to grasp onto thoughts and ideas that will seemingly solve their health problems but invariably do not. Part of the problem is the lack of knowledge and understanding, and the remainder is due to the persuasive abilities of the persons presenting the benefits we will receive if we follow their magical advice. In some cases the claims being made may indeed have partial and temporary benefits. In others the claims may be outlandish and false. In Jerry Pollock's opinion all such claims should be carefully scrutinized and have some semblance of both a scientific and God-centered basis. Nowhere should this be more required than in the holistic field of energy medicine and specifically in the healing power claims of energy transfer at either close proximity or at global distances.

"If we create two elementary particles," Pollock stated, "with opposite spins and then send one particle to the South Pole and the other to the North Pole, the particles still communicate their spin directions to each other. Einstein and his collaborators at the Institute of Advanced Study at Princeton University called this instantaneous communication, 'spooky interaction at a distance.' Isaac Newton suggested that for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. If we hypothetically substitute spins of these quantum physics particles with the opposites - positive and negative energy - then we can also create a two way exchange. Our suggestion is only hypothetical because God’s endowment of energy to these particles is solely positive energy. However both of these states of matter, positive and negative energy, do exist in one organic system on the planet - the human body. Negative energy is found nowhere else as God designed human beings with unique traits."

"Are there dangers in receiving energy from people who claim to be able to heal others? Most definitely if they are sending a mixture of both positive and negative energy or combinations of energy that include evil energy. The latter dark energy especially can rapidly change your percentage of positive soul energy that the patient possesses and can make one sick and even cause death. Because energy is always a two way transmission according to the physicists, the healer will pick up negative and evil energy along the way and may eventually transmit this to his next victim."

Jerry Pollock is both a respected scientist and a believer. Pollock’s latest work, 'Putting God Into Einstein's Equations: Energy Of The Soul', is a groundbreaking work in which Pollock blends science and spirituality in a way that has never been done before - through scientific measurements.

'Putting God Into Einstein's Equations' definitively answers questions about God, the big bang, Einstein’s Relativity Equations and how they fit in with God’s energy, soul mates and love, the spirit world of souls, past lives, telepathic thought-energy communication, eliminating negative body-soul energy, intelligence of the soul, acquiring spirituality, miracles, resurrection and reincarnation, the Devil, good and evil, and how we can live for the eternity. The book was co-authored with his deceased wife, Marcia Pollock.

Pollock believes that God granted each of us angelic energy to help heal ourselves when we are sick. He also believes that God endowed those He had chosen like Moses and Jesus with the ability to conduct miracles not explainable by science. However only God can pass the baton of healing energy to a person, and many who claim such powers to heal have never been sanctioned by God. Moreover very few are aware of the scientific implications of the positive-negative and the negative-positive energy transfer passage from one human body to another and the dangers of receiving evil energy from so called healers.

Jerry Pollock is available for media interviews and can be reached using the information below or by email at jerrypollock@bellsouth.net. More information is available at his website. 'Putting God Into Einstein's Equations: Energy Of The Soul' is available at his website, Amazon and Barnes and Noble.

About Jerry Pollock:

Dr. Jerry Pollock is Professor Emeritus from Stony Brook University on Long Island where for thirty years he was an academic and research scientist publishing seventy-five scientific articles including seven patents. He holds bachelors and masters degrees in Pharmacy from the University of Toronto, a PhD in Biophysics from the Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel, and has postdoctoral training in Microbiology from New York University Medical Center. Marcia Pollock is deceased and held a bachelors degree in psychology from Stony Brook University and a Master of Arts in Special Education from C. W. Post University on Long Island. Marcia and Jerry are the coauthors of their recently published unique book, “Putting God Into Einstein’s Equations: Energy of the Soul.” Jerry wrote from our earthly world and Marcia’s soul suggested and confirmed from the spirit world.

Author G. J. Berger Offers An Epic Tale Never Told In 'South Of Burnt Rocks, West Of The Moon'

G. J. Berger is fast becoming renowned for offering readers epic stories not available elsewhere. His engrossing historical fiction novel, 'South Of Burnt Rocks', offers the stirring tale of the Iberian Celtic clan as it battles with the Roman Empire for their land

As a writer, G. J. Berger hopes to transport readers to places and times available nowhere else. To that end, he recently released his newest historical fiction novel, 'South Of Burnt Rocks, West Of The Moon'. The new book, built upon and around the seldom heard tales of Celtic fighting women, has been very well received by reviewers and readers. The manuscript garnered 'wonderfully crafted' praise from Kirkus Review and most early readers gave it a 5-star rating in Amazon and Goodreads.

'I'm deeply pleased," Berger stated, "that my story about courageous fighting women out of the distant past in a place not known by many has received such enthusiastic early recognition."

After three great wars, Rome has crushed Carthage. Now the undefended riches of Iberia beckon--gold, tin, olives, wine, and healthy young bodies to enslave. 'Burnt Rocks' tells the story of Lavena, last child of the strongest remaining Iberian tribal leader at a time when Rome plunders and loots her land. She must grow up fast and use all her cunning and courage to survive each day. At times helped only by her father's favorite dog, a special horse, or guided by spirits of the earth and sky, she strives to unite her people and oust the Roman menace. Based on real characters, places, and events, 'Burnt Rocks' recreates that shadowy history--and eternal human nature rubbed raw.

The storyline of 'South Of Burnt Rocks' brings ancient times vividly alive while offering a tribute to Celtic fighting women of the times, select warriors seldom mentioned in historical fiction works. Berger attempts to bring this story, half-lost in the mists of history, to modern readers of historical fiction.

Reviewing the manuscript, Kirkus Reviews stated, "Smartly written, the novel moves quickly....The simple yet powerful narrative relies on a commanding cast of characters,... Berger beautifully crafts them as more than one-dimensional warriors....Berger also builds an elaborate world full of small details that add depth and historical context."

"The story, its characters, the places where it unfolds," Berger continued, "will transport readers to a fascinating time not commonly known. Rich with details from 2000 years ago but still never cluttered up with too much or too many, 'Burnt Rocks' is based on real events of Roman-era history, The novel paints a timeless drama of a 'she-warrior' tribal leader fighting a brutal oppressor with little more than the courage of those who have nothing left to lose."

G.J. Berger is available for media interviews and can be reached using the information below or by email at gjberger@hotmail.com. 'South Of Burnt Rocks, West Of The Moon' is available at Amazon, Smashwords, Barnes and Noble and Kobo Books and most bookstores. More information, including a recent Authors Show interview, is available at his website at http://www.gjberger.com.

About G. J. Berger:

When G. J. was eight, his mom told him the story of Hannibal crossing the Alps with elephants and a great army. He asked her what happened to Hannibal after that. Mom didn’t know, but he was hooked, had to find out, had to write about it.

G. J. spent much of his young life on the road and at sea, even working as a crew member on a tramp steamer. Wherever his travels took him, old walls, canals, even storage holes deep in the ground, made him wonder about how they got there, about the people who built them, how they lived and got along.

The result is this and two other novels-to-be wherein the places, the history, even some of the ‘Burnt Rocks’ characters do and did exist.

When not writing, G. J. tries to roam around the places he writes about, likes to sit and soak up the times back then and bring them to modern life in his stories. G. J. is convinced that for all the changes in last 2000 years, people loved and hated, suffered and rejoiced, destroyed and built the same ways then as they do today.

G. J. lives in San Diego with his favorite grammarian and English Professor.

The ‘Best Of The Best’ Of What Jesus Said – Terry Allan Christian Releases 'What Did Jesus Say - The Seven Messages from the Master’

'What Did Jesus Say . . . The Seven Messages from the Master' is carefully organized to reveal the actual teachings of Jesus without interpretation, opinion, commentary or conflict

Rev. Terry Allan Christian has released 'What Did Jesus Say . . . The Seven Messages from the Master'. The new Christian book organizes the teachings of Jesus in a special format, using only the words spoken by Jesus and nothing more. The book puts readers into an imagined walk with Jesus on the beach, allowing readers to hear over 500 passages spoken by Him.

"I wrote this book," Rev. Christian stated, "because the Spirit instructed me to. One day while in prayer I felt the Spirit instructing me to write a book using only the 'words of Jesus' as they are recorded in the NKJB and printed in red. The Voice said 'Tell them what I told them and nothing more". (In other words don't add your own opinion regarding what I mean - just tell them what I told them)."

Featuring the "best of the best" of what Jesus said, the new book is one of a kind. The scriptures, stripped of everything save for the words spoken directly by Jesus, have been reordered and organized into seven primary messages:

The Christ
The Father and Son
The Word
The Teachings of Jesus
The Kingdom of Heaven
The End Times
The Holy Spirit

At the bottom of each page are reference notes to find the chapter and verse from which the sayings are drawn in the Bible. The book is perfect for individual daily devotional, Bible study groups or spiritual retreats. It is appropriate for all Christians - the young, the old, the new believers and the life-long followers of Jesus Christ who really want to know specifically what Jesus said regarding these topics.

"Those who read this book," Rev. Christian continued, "will know and understand directly what Jesus said and what He expects from those who call themselves Christian and call Him their Lord and Savior. This book sets the record straight as 'The Seven Messages from the Master' covers all that is important for a Christian to know to live a life of peace, patience and purpose for living."

Terry Allan Christian is available for media interviews and can be reached using the information below or by email at rev.christian@me.com. ‘What Did Jesus Say . . . The Seven Messages from the Master’ is available in print, ebook and audiobook formats and can be ordererd at any bookstore or at the website. More information, including a preview of the book, is available at the website at http://www.WDJSBook.com.

About Rev. Terry Allan Christian:

Since dedicating his life to Jesus in his early teens, Terry has constantly studied the red lettered version of the Gospels as recorded in the NKJB, always concentrating on the words of Jesus and the example of His actions. His acceptance of Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior has been pivotal in carrying him through all his life challenges.

He developed a severe stuttering problem while growing up in a violently dysfunctional family, causing him to drop out of high school at the age of 16 and leave home with little hope for success in life. Terry’s world changed forever when, at age 23, the Holy Spirit spoke to him in a life-altering vision. In this vision, he was told that one day he would be a teacher of Christian principles. At the time, he stuttered so badly he was embarrassed to talk with anyone. Immediately following this vision, God miraculously healed his stuttering. He was also blessed to meet a man who taught him how to read a book a day and he began to study the best books ever written on the subject of personal development.

Since his studies began over 30 years ago, he has met and worked with some of the greatest thinkers and Motivational Speakers in modern-day America. He became a motivational speaker and corporate trainer himself, and taught over 2500 seminars and workshops throughout America and Canada. He always encouraged his audiences to pick up their Bibles, read the “words of Jesus” and make up their own mind, what’s real and true.

One day while in prayer, Terry felt the Holy Spirit re-directing his life. He was told to write a book containing only the words of Jesus. A book that would teach believers without interpretation, opinion or commentary. So he retired as a public speaker and began composing the book, 'What Did Jesus Say . . .  The Seven Messages from the Master'. It would take him twelve years to complete this calling.

Today, he leads Foundations for Life Ministries and lives in Atlantic Beach, Florida, where he counsels individuals and couples seeking a more mature understanding of their relationship with Jesus Christ.

Rev. Christian believes his calling is to help his brothers and sisters in Christ live in a never-ending state of love, truth and forgiveness. He says after "repentance", this was the main message Jesus taught; and teaching the way by the word is the cornerstone on which his book and ministry is founded.

Rick Huntress, Author Of 'Better To Be Broken', Provides Motivation And Inspiration To Those With Disabilities

An avid supporter of the 'Wounded Warrior Project, Huntress has served as the Executive Director for the South Carolina Spinal Cord Injury Association. He has also served on the Governor’s Commission for the Department of Disabilities and Special Needs. His recently released book, 'Better To Be Broken', is an inspiring, motivational book written for any person who suffers from any form of disability

Rick Huntress had everything—and he had nothing. He was a self-centered man living a selfish life, until one fateful day when his whole world changed. A horrific accident left Rick in a wheelchair. But this tragic moment became a blessing, as God touched Rick’s heart, opening a door of ministry for those with broken spirits in need of healing.

'Better To Be Broken’ is an inspirational book that details the story of one man’s awakening into the light of God’s love and his hope-filled message that provides inspiration and motivation to those who suffer from any type of disability. 'Better To Be Broken' is also a disability book that approaches the subject from an entirely different perspective. In Rick's opinion, his disability was in fact a form of blessing.

"In a world that is spinning out of control," Huntress stated, "everyone is looking for hope and encouragement. My personal, and transparent story of my own failures, injury and recovery, tells readers that life does not end with any type of disability or failure."

In addition to providing a platform that allows him to write books that inspire, Rick’s disability has opened up a new world. Rick has been given new opportunities and has been privileged to work with peer support groups, visit people with new injuries, speak in nursing homes, and share his personal testimony in churches, schools, universities and conferences for disabled people. Huntress has served as the Executive Director for the South Carolina Spinal Cord Injury Association and has served on the Governor’s Commission for the Department of Disabilities and Special Needs. He is an avid and vocal supporter of the Wounded Warrior Project.

"I feel very strongly," Huntress continued, "about the 'Wounded Warrior Project.' I have participated in several of their deer hunts here in South Carolina and believe that the program is fantastic to get the people back out in life and enjoying themselves. The DNR is very involved with this program and funds free hunts for wounded warriors and disabled individuals such as myself. I am also on the Roger C. Peace Advisory Board here in Greenville that is a rehabilitation hospital that does a lot of therapy for wounded warriors. We have just recently opened the Peace House here in Greenville that is similar to the Fisher House for families to stay. When I was on the South Carolina Governor's Commission for the Department of Disabilities and Special Needs, I actively tried to get people with disabilities involved in the Wounded Warrior Project."

In a recent editorial review, Major General William M. Rajczak, USAF, Ret. stated, "Better to Be Broken is a timely and timeless story of loss and recovery. In an emotion filled story, Rick Huntress has captured his fight to rebound from a loss few of us can even imagine. Before his accident Rick was … under my command. Through his recovery my wife and I were given the privilege of getting to know both Rick and Wendy. This friendship has endured and made our lives better. I applaud Rick’s continuing efforts to help others who face recoveries similar to his. Rick’s indomitable spirit, and his story of love, faith, and recovery is an inspiration to all."

Rick Huntress is available for media interviews and can be reached using the information below or by email at rick@rickhuntress.org. 'Better To Be Broken' is available at Amazon, Barnes And Noble, CBD and other book distributors. More information is available at Rick's website at http://www.RickHuntress.org.

Dr. Barbara Becker Holstein Interviewed On Askimo TV Regarding How Childhood Behavior Influences Adult Behavior

Dr. Holstein is both a Positive Psychologist and the author of ''The Truth (I'm A Girl, I'm Smart And I Know Everything) Dr. Holstein recently appeared on Askimo TV, where she discussed the bearing childhood behavior has on us as adults

Dr. Barbara Becker Holstein recently appeared on Askimo TV where she discussed how important it is to understand how childhood behavior can influence our adult lives.

In the interview Dr Holstein answered many questions, including but not limited to:

How does our behaviour as children have a bearing on how we will be as adults?
How will understanding your 12 year old self impact your life positively now?
How does shyness affect us as adults?
How can we connect with our inner child?
How can we nurture the best of ourselves as we grow older?
Can we hold on to the energy and confidence we had as a child?

"We need to realize," stated Dr. Holstein, "that the way we were as kids affects the way we behave as adults and even our feelings and emotions.  At the same time we need to honor aspects of ourselves that are part of our history as they contain the strengths, talents and potential that often lie dormant  and you might even say,  afraid to come out, within us.  Our 'inner child' is calling out to us on many occasions.  We need to learn how to listen and turn on our inner resources, no matter what our age.

On the other hand, we have to always remember to listen and connect to our children and grandchildren.  The ways we handle them will have an affect on their strengths, talents and potential for the rest of their lives!  There is no way around bringing up a child.  Ignoring a child or not treating a child appropriately always has lasting consequences."

Her book, ‘The Truth, (I’m a girl, I’m Smart and I Know Everything)’ is a first in positive psychology.

In addition to running a thriving practice, Dr. Holstein is a very successful author across many genres. The human spirit, with its capacity for survival, growth and joy, has always been a subject of interest for Dr. Holstein.  She recently released 'Next Year In Jerusalem Part Two: Around Every Corner Mystery & Romance in the Holy Land'. The new romance novel is the second in the 'Jerusalem Trilogy'. Combining her talents as a writer and a psychologist has resulted in a storyline filled with romance, intrigue, mystery, and spiritual awakenings. Being a new romance book, 'Next Year In Jerusalem' is a work of fantasy that serves a greater purpose.

In 'Next Year In Jerusalem', two women face extraordinary circumstances in one of the most spiritual, mysterious, romantic cities in the world. Part 2 in this trilogy expands upon the adventures of Natalie and Maggie, best friends since college, who find themselves steeped in the romance, mysticism and mystery of Jerusalem.

Author Zita Bell Releases Practical Book To Help Seniors Avoid Senior Abuse, Scams And Fraud

'Getting Screwed After 80: It's Not The Same Definition' is designed to alert seniors, friends of senior and family members of the potential problems and pitfalls of aging

Author Zita Bell recently released 'Getting Screwed After 80: It's Not The Same Definition'. The book will help not only senior citizens but also their friends and family members avoid senior abuse, scams, ripoffs and fraud.

Senior abuse and elder abuse can mean many things. Abuse does not necessarily mean just outright abusive practices. Senior abuse can take many forms. In addition to outright fraud perpetrated against senior citizens, seniors must deal with health questions, confusing legal issues and financial problems, all of which require proper preparation and planning. Sometimes the family members, knowingly or unknowing, can cause the abuse.

Seniors are not the only ones to suffer as many well-meaning family members and relatives may be taken in also and can often become unknowing victims. For some the problems do not stem from abuse, but can be caused by a wrong decision or a simple omission that can cause disaster many years down the road.

Zita believes you must “get smart before you are no longer smart.”

"I wrote this book originally," Zita stated, "because I was angry, but my anger turned into understanding as there is a problem out there that affects all of us and it needs to be talked about. Even the best of us experience these problems.

Topics in the book include but are not limited to:

Introduction by an Elder Law Attorney

Senior abuse stories and how they can happen to anyone, anywhere.

A summary of elder abuse

Falling apart - medical changes and how they can affect decision making processes that can lead to disaster

Legal issues and aging

Ways to prevent disaster and how to prepare, where to go for advice (including websites, contact information, Bar Association, SEC, etc)

Most people are reluctant to acknowledge age-related changes. even to themselves. They are even more reluctant to admit they were taken advantage of by a stranger, a friend or even their most trusted family member. But perhaps they are the lucky ones, for so many are taken advantage of and are never aware that there is a problem. Fortunately, Zita became aware quickly and was willing to come forward to recount her experiences as well as the experience of others. She believes 'Getting Screwed After 80' may help seniors and their friend and families avoid disaster.

Zita Bell is available for media interviews and can be reached using the information below or by email at zitabell@bellsouth.net. 'Getting Screwed After 80: It's Not The Same Definition' is available in both print and ebook formats at Amazon and Barnes and Noble. More information is available at her website at http://www.GettingScrewedAfter80.com.

About Zita Bell:

Zita Waters Bell is an entrepreneur extraordinaire. She has launched three unique and successful businesses. She conducted most of her business ventures in New Jersey and South Florida.

While in her 30's she started two unique employment agencies. The first, ‘Desk Set Personnel’ went on to become one of the best employment agencies in South Jersey. She later opened another agency, ‘A Woman's World’ which in addition trained unemployed women to re-enter the work force.

In the 1980's, Zita retired to South Florida to collect antiques. It wasn't long before she decided to step up and she started Zita Waters Bell Inc. For 30 years her antique shows became synonymous with class and elegance. In 2011, Zita retired again after selling her business.

At 86 she is still the same smart, savvy entrepreneur she has always been. While her friends and associates know how sharp she still is, there are others who believe she is just a little old lady who can be taken advantage of. She now addresses the plight of those in their golden years who can easily fall prey to individual banking on the fact that elders have lost their edge.

Dr. Barbara Becker Holstein Interviewed Regarding How Fantasy And Romantic Fiction Can Improve One’s Life

Dr. Holstein is both a Positive Psychologist and the author of 'Next Year In Jerusalem'. Her new romance book is the second in the 'Jerusalem Trilogy'.  Dr. Holstein recently appeared on Askimo TV, where she discussed the positive role fantasy and romantic fiction can play in our lives

Dr. Barbara Becker Holstein recently appeared on Askimo TV where she discussed how important fantasy and romantic fiction can be in creating a rich and full life.

It is a given that people we not always happy. When people are down in the dumps, blue, sick with an illness, lonely, or in a bad state for whatever other reason, fantasy can really help. As a Positive Psychologist and Life Coach, Dr. Holstein believes fantasy can be critical to leading a happy life.

"The famous author Norman Cousins," stated Dr. Holstein, "when sick with a serious illness, explained that he made a decision to come back to health by laughing every day. To do this he watched comedies on television every day in his hospital room. He laughed and laughed and did get much better. This is an example of the positive use of fantasy in daily living."

Combining her talents as a writer and a psychologist has resulted in a storyline filled with romance, intrigue, mystery, and spiritual awakenings. Being a new romance book, 'Next Year In Jerusalem' is a work of fantasy that serves a greater purpose.

"The amazing thing about good romantic fiction," stated Dr. Holstein, "is it gives the reader a chance to experience different feelings and behaviors with no damage done.  A romance book can move the reader to tears and passion, and it can also move her to try new actions and decisions in her own life.  So in reality a good romance novel like any other great read can be just the 'medicine' one needs to improve one's own life."

A recent reviewer stated "I traveled to Israel vicariously through the characters and with them enjoyed each step along the cobbled streets of ancient Jerusalem. Barbara Becker Holstein weaves themes of friendship, love, spirituality, and mystery, engaging the reader from the start. I look forward to the next installment!"

A Facebook page has been created for the work, titled 'Next Year In Jerusalem'. A YouTube channel, 'NextYearNJerusalem' is also available. Michigan Author Solease M. Barner Releases New Mystery Book 'The Sleeper', First In The 'Secrets Of The Ghosts' Trilogy

The new mystery book is the first in a trilogy. The book follows in the tradition of espionage novels such as 'The Bourne Identity' with a unique twist - the protagonists are female assassins

Author Solease M. Barner has released 'The Sleeper'. The new mystery book is the first in the 'Secrets Of The Ghosts' trilogy. The new thriller is a work incorporating suspense, fantasy, espionage and murder. The book, written in the tradition of 'The Bourne Identity', centers on a group of sisters who are female assassins.

"I want the readers to know," stated Ms. Barner, "that writing 'Secrets of the Ghosts-The Sleeper' was pure joy. The main character Holiday's life is so interesting. I hope readers enjoy reading 'The Sleeper' as much as I had writing it."

In the first installment of the trilogy of mystery books, Holiday Towley is a loving perfect wife and mother who holds a deep dark secret. Holiday's dark secret is revealed when her daughter's safety is compromised by unforeseen circumstances. Holiday's life becomes more complex when she finds out the truth of who she really is. Holiday soon finds out she has a special gift that will change her life and may protect her daughter from the secret life that she has kept hidden.

"There are so many different characters in ‘The Sleeper’," Barner continued, "that readers will find someone they will love and hate. The main character sisters will make readers think of their own family, with their conversations and love towards one another. When writing this novel I wanted readers to identify with the story."

Solease M. Barner follows in the footsteps of her favorite authors - John Grisham, Terry McMillian, and Stephanie Meyer. Underlying her storylines is a message - when adversity arises it is family who will be there in times of need. Readers will more deeply appreciate their own families after reading her work.

'Secrets Of The Ghosts - The Sleeper' is available at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Goodreads, FriesenPress Publishing Bookstore, Kobo, iTunes, Smashwords and All Romance-Omni Lit. It is available for Kindle, Nook, iPhone and iPad.

God And Science: Jerry Pollock, PhD., Suggests Angelic Energy From God Is Responsible For One Form Of Healing That Science And Medicine Cannot Explain

Medicine, the Self, Energy Repair, prayer, angels– in our experience all of these can appear to manifest the state of healing. Jerry Pollock, author of ‘Putting God Into Einstein’s Equations’, proposes that all are, in fact, different manifestations of God

There is a great deal of speculation and an impressive body of scientific evidence regarding healing and the causes of healing. Most scientists believe healing is accomplished through medicinal means, while others believe that our thoughts can play a major role.  The placebo effect has been well documented, as has the power of belief and prayer. In other cultures herbs, incantations and spells can bring about the state of healing. Jerry Pollock, PhD, believes that at the core of all of these lies a common element – God.

“Can anyone,” Pollock asked, “tell us with absolute certainty where healing comes from? One argument that I make against my own personal belief that all healing comes from God is a quote about truth. ‘Truth is absolute only when we can divorce it from the person who proclaims it.’ My problem as a scientist, but not as a man of unshakable faith, is that God hasn’t stepped up on the public stage of our modern world to proclaim. He is currently in the shadows and has not answered the challenge of disbelievers so that faith is up for grabs like a jump ball.”

“Miracles cannot explain science,” Pollock said, “nor can science explain miracles; yet, God created our universe through scientific miracles. When we look at the true cause of healing, we are faced with miraculous healing events that simply defy scientific explanation. Could it be that if we have faith, then one of God’s gifts to us is helping us to self-heal with the angelic energy that He has endowed us with? ”

Jerry Pollock is both a respected scientist and a believer. Pollock’s latest work, 'Putting God Into Einstein's Equations: Energy Of The Soul', is a groundbreaking work in which Pollock blends science and spirituality in a way that has never been done before - through scientific measurements.

“As a scientist,” Pollock continued, “I hypothesize that each of us are endowed by our Creator with not only an energy soul life force but also angelic energy. This celestial energy is not found in the Devil or in any persons’ souls the Devil has co-opted either voluntary or involuntary. I can’t prove my hypothesis by traditional scientific experiments but based upon the premise that our bodies are vitalized by Divine soul energy, I can suggest the existence of angelic energy.”

Nancy Kaiser, Animal Communicator And Author Of ‘Tales Of An Animal Communicator’ To Appear At NC Fundraiser For Rottweilers

In addition to the Rottweiler fundraiser, Ms. Kaiser will also appear at an event designed to bring awareness to 'black dog syndrome'. Kaiser is an animal communicator who specializes in working with people to develop more meaningful relationships with their animals

Nancy Kaiser, animal communicator and author of ‘Tales Of An Animal Communicator: Master Teachers’ will appear at the Wag N' Wine Fundraiser to be held in Mocksville, NC on April 6, 2013. The fundraiser will be sponsored by Rottweiler Hearts Rescue (RHR) and Misty Creek Vineyard and Winery. The fundraiser will feature games, vendors, food, music, a silent auction and much more.

On April 7, 2013, Kaiser will attend Black Dog Appreciation Day & Black Dog Walk in Charlotte, NC to bring awareness to 'black dog syndrome'. 'Black dog syndrome' is a situation affecting both black dogs and black cats. These animals tend to be looked over in shelters due to their black coloring.

"Learning about black dog syndrome," Kaiser stated, "was shocking. To think that black dogs and cats are passed over at shelters simply because of their color saddened me. Over the years, I have had Black Labs and black barn cats that were treasured members of my family. To think of my life without them is impossible. It is because of them I jumped at the opportunity to help bring awareness to this important cause. Adopters might be missing out on the perfect pet for their families simply because the animal was born with a black coat of hair. Wouldn’t that be a shame?"

In her role as an animal communicator, Nancy Kaiser demonstrates that learning to communicate with animals can lead to a better understanding and a deeper relationship with pets.  Communication with animals through an animal communication consultant is important in regards to facilitating healing, increasing understanding between people and their pets and in the development of solutions for behavioral problems.

Her latest book, ‘Tales Of An Animal Communicator’, chronicles the tales of the remarkable animals that taught Nancy Kaiser that she was destined to be an animal communicator and healer. Having left pharmacy to manage her equine hospital and breeding farm in central New Jersey, she found that astonishing animals and events began entering her life. From her life on Fair Chance Farm, through her move to the mountains of North Carolina, the lessons and unconditional love of the extraordinary animals that surround this gifted woman has astounded readers.

The Wag 'N Wine Fundraising event will be held at Misty Creek Vineyard & Winery, 710 Wyo Road, Mocksville, NC on Saturday, April 6, 2013 from 11:00am to 3:00pm. Admission is free to the public. The Black Dog Appreciation Day & Black Dog Walk will be held on Sunday, April 7, 2013 from 9am to 12 Noon at the Shops at Piper Glen at 6414 Rea Rd. in Charlotte, NC.

Nancy Kaiser is available for media interviews and can be reached using the information below or by email at nancy@nancykaiseranimalcommunicator.com. ‘Tales Of An Animal Communicator: Master Teachers’ is available at Nancy Kaiser’s website, Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Smashwords and Kobo. A portion of the proceeds are donated to Watauga Humane Society, Noah’s Wish and The Wild Horse Sanctuary. More information is available at Nancy Kaiser’s website at http://www.NancyKaiserAnimalCommunicator.com.

Wichita Kansas Christian Devotional Author And Speaker Kristi Burchfiel Releases “365 Devotions Through The New Testament”

Kristi Burchfiel is a Christian devotional author and speaker who believes in ‘living in the world while living out the word’. “365 Devotions Through The New Testament” is the latest release in her popular Daily Devotional Series.

Christian devotional author and speaker Kristi Burchfiel has announced the release of “365 Devotions Through The New Testament”. The new release is the latest in her popular Daily Devotional Series.

As all Christians know, the New Testament of the Bible shares the message of the good news of salvation in Jesus Christ. These 27 books have been studied for centuries as people are drawn to the message of salvation by grace through faith. Even today, readers turn to the New Testament to learn from the truths within the pages and to apply those truths to their daily lives.

Kristi Burchfiel’s new work allows readers to take five minutes a day to focus on a specific truth from scripture and to learn how to apply that truth in everyday life. The new book presents an overview of the New Testament with 365 devotions covering verses from each chapter of the New Testament.

“The Daily Devotional Series,” Kristi stated, “has been very popular and well received with its easy to read-and-apply style. I wanted to be able to offer readers a bible study tool that is also available in paperback as well as ebook. This Christian devotional offers readers a chance to go through the entire New Testament in a year's time. Since it's initial release at the very end of January, the feedback from those people looking for online bible studies for women or men has been fantastic. The book has received great reviews and I'm so excited to hear from people who are using these books as a springboard to jump-start their personal relationship with Jesus Christ."

Kristi writes applicable Bible Studies. Her works include ‘Without Regrets: A Study Of Ecclesiastes,’ ‘The Decay Within: A Study of Amos,’ and an ebook series entitled ‘The Daily Devotional Series’, which includes six devotionals covering Genesis, John, Psalm and now the New Testament. Several years ago, God led Kristi Burchfiel through some difficult times in her personal life. Only by studying the truths found in the Bible did she find the answers she needed to get her life back on track.  She now works daily to continue putting those truths into practice.  She is passionate about studying the Bible and invites others to share in the peace of God through the truths found in God’s word. As a Christian devotional author, she believes in living in the world while living out the Word.

“As a Christian devotional author,” Burchfiel stated, “I am passionate about writing online devotions and bible studies for women and men. A Christian devotional is more than just words on a page, and more than reading through Bible study topics. A true Christian devotional takes bible study topics and bible tools and looks at the truths found in God’s word and then shows people how to apply those truths to their life. Just knowing the word of God is not enough - we must live it out.”

In addition to writing Christian devotionals, Kristi speaks on a variety of different topics including sections from her Bible study books, devotionals, life lessons, personal testimony and the book publishing process. She has been the keynote speaker for women's conferences, led workshops during all day events, and delivered the message in worship services and Sunday School classes. She has also spoken with literacy groups and has appeared numerous times in interviews for websites, radio, and television. She also provides an online devotional for the day and other Bible tools.

Kristi Burchfiel is available for media interviews and speaking engagements. She can be reached using the information below, or by email at k_burchfiel@yahoo.com. More information is available at her website. All Kristi’s books, Christian devotionals, Bible studies for men and women and ebooks are available at Amazon.com and at her website.

Kristi Burchfiel grew up in Valley Center, Kansas and received her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee, Oklahoma.
