Angel Vs Bully - New Ebook About Angels And Bullying, 'Town Of Angels', By Award Winning Author Jody Sharpe Now Available
Jody Sharpe, the award winning author of books about angels, has announced that her latest book,'Town Of Angels', is now available in ebook format. The new book is also available in print from online and traditional booksellers.
It is angel vs. bully in the town of Mystic Bay, California, where a well kept secret lies. Angels live as humans there. After angels appeared to three children all was blissful in the town full of psychics, and ordinary folk. But as a bully, Klaus Waxman, comes to town, Angel Ken Leighton, a storeowner, must carefully guide his flock of humans not to give to in to the bully’s efforts. As Klaus opens a store mocking the resident angels sightings, Angel Ken guides psychic Justine Greer and her family to thwart his efforts. And with the help of the indomitable oldest psychic in town, Madam Norma, the bully meets his match with soft voices and intuitive minds…
"Kindness is a strength and mixed with courage it can take a bully's breath away," Sharpe stated.
Sharpe also presents stories and interviews about angels in her 'Tuesdays With The Angels' blog series.
Jody is now accepting submissions of angel stories for possible inclusion on her 'Tuesdays With The Angels' blog. She hopes to create a collection of angel stories that involve sightings of angels, interaction with angels, miraculous angel encounters and other types of accounts or stories. All submissions will be considered, but inclusion is not guaranteed. Stories may be submitted at http://bit.ly/2FV8amd.
Jody Sharpe knows angels exist. Her first book, ‘The Angel's Daughter’, was written in memory of her daughter Kate. Her second book, 'To Catch An Angel', was written in memory of her husband Steve.
Over a decade ago, when her daughter died tragically Sharpe faced down the most difficult challenge of her life. She was determined not to just merely survive, but to live; to honor the life of her beloved daughter, her twins, her husband and the rest of the rich life she had created before the tragedy. Blessed with an inherently positive outlook these trying times were strengthened by influences from the late Norman Vincent Peale to the children's book character, Wilbur the pig. For Sharpe, ministers of spirit and guidance took the form of angels. Sharpe's openness to change led her to write her first novel, 'The Angel's Daughter'. The story that takes place in the fictitious town of Mystic Bay, California and encompasses all Sharpe's attitudes about goodness, healing and moving on.
Jody is also the author of 'To Catch An Angel', written in memory of her late husband Steve. In 'To Catch An Angel', miracles happen in Mystic Bay, California, the town with the psychic and angel vibe. Angels are calling. Psychic Maggie Malone returns home to find she's swept up in the miracle of it all. She can't imagine why her mother left or who her father might be. But these questions pale in comparison to the wonder of the angels. Maggie meets writer, Noah Greenstreet. They realize they've met before, but where? Maggie and Noah embark on a journey to find our world is all awash with angels.
Jody was chosen as a winner in the annual '50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading' Book Awards. She was chosen from a field of hundreds of authors through a public voting process.
Sharpe's books have received a large number of rave reviews. A recent Amazon review stated, "This book would make a beautiful Christmas Hallmark movie. You will be left believing in Angels here on earth." Another said, "This a wonderful story that reminds us of the kindness and gentleness that exists in this world." Another stated, "Amazing. Most of all it is a feel good book and a must read.”
Jody Sharpe is available for media interviews and can be reached using the information below, or by email at sharpejody76@gmail.com. Angel stories can be submitted at http://bit.ly/2FV8amd. Closing The Border Is A Matter Of National Security Says Virginia Sollars, Author Of 'And Some Will Triumph'
Overcrowding in jails and prisons is a massive problem in the US. That problem is often made worse by illegal immigrants who are mentally ill and end up being placed in jails in the US. Virginia Sollars, author of 'And Some Will Triumph' has experienced this problem personally. She recently posted a statement on her website about the importance of addressing this problem from an American perspective.
"Trump says that closing the border is a matter of national security and I agree," Sollars stated. "I worked in a jail setting for years. It was a revolving door of illegals who committed crimes, some due to mental illness.
"America is a wonderful country full of opportunities for many of us, but we cannot save the world, (though some on the left would have you think that it is America’s responsibility to do so).
"In my opinion, it is not. We should take care of our own first. What about the homeless, many who are mentally ill, who were born here? Or the veterans, many of them depressed due to not being able to find a job and perhaps have no place to live, people who have been on the front lines keeping our country safe? What about the children living in cars? What about our people?
"I know it seems sad, but we must use some common sense here. We are Americans and this is our country."
The full statement is available at Sollars' website at http://www.virginiasollars.net.
Sollars' book, 'And Some Will Triumph', relates the journey of Elizabeth, a compassionate nurse who comes to California from New York with her teenage daughter to work at the fictional Raine Correctional Facility. "Elizabeth finds herself interacting with some of society’s most troubled and challenging inmates and shows how she must at times fight the system to give the best care to her patients. Elizabeth tells the stories of both the psychiatric inmates as well as the nurses who have problems in their lives as well. Since the book is based on my professional experience, it is an insider’s look into the minds of psychiatric inmates revealing their secrets, regrets, frustrations and hopes and how they cope with their life in jail. But my book is more than just the story. It explains the many mental health disorders in such a way that people without a medical background can understand, points out the broken mental health system and describes the reasons why the mentally ill are incarcerated."
"I believe my book has great potential for a television series or a movie," Sollars said, "My book is very informative, it is written in such a way that everyone will finally understand what is means to be burdened with a psychiatric disorder, how the thought process is so different from ours and how it sometimes leads to involvement with law enforcement. My book is so different from any undertaking that has been taken before, its potential is great and I think that people will be amazed at what I have to say. I just need the right people to believe in me to get the word out. I know my book can make a difference. "
Sollars' book has received rave reviews from readers. Kirkus Reviews said the book is ”. . . a remarkable timeline of the treatment of mental illness in the past 40 years, and it’s a triumphant account of her boldness as a mother, nurse, and woman. At a time when mental health is in the forefront of conversations about our health care system, her story is one of hope."
One reader stated, "Absolutely the best book I’ve read in years, uncensored look into correctional mental health, patients, inmates and the professionals who deal with some of society’s most troubled criminals, their day to day struggles all interwoven within a gripping story of murder and suspense. A must read!" Another said, "Awesome story! While the story keeps you turning the pages to see what happens next, the real plight of the mental health patients in a correctional setting is heartbreaking.”
Virginia Sollars is available for media interviews and can be reached using the information below or by email at virginiasollars@yahoo.com. 'And Some Will Triumph' is available at online retailers. More information is available at her website at http://www.virginiasollars.net.

Body Shaming, Social Media, Bullying And The Drive To Be Best - Selfie Filmmaker And Positive Psychologist Barbara Becker Holstein Provides Powerful Resources And Solutions For Kids And Their Parents
For kids, the world has become a very dangerous place, more so today than in any other time in history. We have just experienced the anniversary of the Parkland school shooting. This was but one of many. A new book book by Lisa Damour, 'Under Pressure', details the "Epidemic of Stress and Anxiety in Girls." The media has produced hundreds of articles about the stresses experienced by young people. A recent story on the Washington Post website detailed some of the psychological effects school lockdowns create in school age children. Sadly school shootings, while horrific, are but the tip of the iceberg. We must add to that body shaming, social media, bullying, drug abuse and climate change. How did we get here? And what is the solution?
Dr. Barbara Becker Holstein, Positive Psychologist, author, award winning selfie filmmaker and creator of 'THE ENCHANTED SELF' has created a massive number of resources that kids, parents and grandparents can access to meet these modern-day challenges. Those resources include both selfie films and podcasts. These form the core of her message today, as these are two mediums that engage young people in powerful ways.
Dr. Holstein is currently developing 'The Selfie Project' to help kids share their feelings and thoughts in a meaningful way via Selfies that can reach millions. "The Selfie Project" provides a way for young people to go public on a number of subjects. Bullying is real, school violence is real, drama because of social media is real for kids. 'The Selfie Project' is giving voice to those subjects. A pilot TV series is in the development phase with the initial pilot making Film Festival Rounds. Teens will have a chance to discuss via their Selfies and in discussion with Dr. Holstein and other experts, various topics that affect their lives, from friend drama to fear of assault weapons. A recent outtake from one of her latest pieces dealing with a school lockdown can be viewed at https://vimeo.com/318541800. As of this moment, teens can share a link to their Selfies and Dr. Holstein will consider them for inclusion on her website, SelfieFilmmakers.com.
“As a Positive Psychologist, I realize that reaching our potential and sustaining the emotional energies necessary to live a joyful and productive life are not easy. I believe in giving people lots of healthy ingredients to choose from as they handle the problems of life: coming of age, being an adult, raising kids, working, being the sandwich generation, aging with spirit and wisdom, staying healthy, etc. ‘THE ENCHANTED SELF’is a positive psychology potpourri of products, films, Podcasts, books, a play, articles and ideas designed to help people of all ages make the best of their lives. These include The Truth, Diary of a Gutsy Tween and Secrets, Diary of a Gutsy Teen; THE ENCHANTED SELF, A Positive Therapy and Recipes for Enchantment, The Secret Ingredient is YOU!; ‘The Locket’, a one act play, for middle or high school production; Selfie Coming of Age Films, great for schools, libraries and homes; A Selfie filmmakers contest; Podcasts where kids and parents are welcome to join me, Ted type short videos where I discuss psychological aspects of living, such as anxiety, helping kids achieve, etc.

Divorce, Remarriage And The Question Of Adultery: Remarriage Can Be Considered Adultery In Specific Circumstances And Thus Requires Repentance
While not a generally accepted idea with some of today's popular clergy members, unrepented remarriage adultery will disqualify people from entering the Kingdom.
In a recent piece on the Christianity Today website entitled "Directions: You're Divorced -- Can You Remarry?" the instructions regarding divorce, given by Jesus in the Sermon on the Mount and taken directly from the Bible, are very clear: "It was also said, 'Whoever divorces his wife, let him give her a certificate of divorce.' But I say to you that anyone who divorces his wife, except on the ground of unchastity, causes her to commit adultery; and whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery."
A compelling and powerful testimony regarding remarriage adultery can be found on Dan Corner's Evangelical Outreach website at https://evangelical outreach.org. The testimony, given by Sister Olga, reads in part:
It was around the middle of June 2013, when I stumbled across an article about remarriage adultery where I read, "By law, a married woman is bound to her husband as long as he is alive; but if her husband dies, she is released from the law of marriage. So then, if she marries another man while her husband is still alive, she is called an adulteress"(Rom. 7:2-3). Soon after came another verse --equally terrifying:
Or do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God (1 Cor.6:9-10).
My heart started pounding as I realized the relationship I had been in for the past 6 years was NOT a true marriage after all, but adultery, and that God viewed me as wicked. I was in the gravest of dangers because if I died at that moment, I would spend an eternity in hell. I knew I had to get out of this sin. God commands us not just to confess our sins, but also to obey Him and forsake them in order to be forgiven.
He that believeth on the Son hath eternal life; but he that obeyeth not shall not see life, but the wrath of God abideth on him (Jn. 3:36).
Some Pharisees came and tested Jesus by asking, "Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife?" "What did Moses command you?" he replied. They said, "Moses permitted a man to write a certificate of divorce and send her away." "It was because your hearts were hard that Moses wrote you this law," Jesus replied. "But at the beginning of creation God 'made them male and female.' For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh. So they are no longer two,but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate." Jesus further said, anyone who divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery against her. And if she divorces her husband and marries another man, she commits adultery" (Mk. 10:2-12,Lk.16:18). Jesus, by these decrees, effectively overturned and voided Deuteronomy 24, which cannot be used as a loophole for the stiff-necked trying to justify remarriage adultery.
Does the fornication exception that we see in Matthew still apply to us? In Matthew, Jesus was addressing primarily a Jewish audience. The first Christians were Jews who adhered to the ancient practice of betrothal, whereby if a man found out his bride was not a virgin on his wedding night, he could divorce her. The most famous example is Joseph and Mary. When Mary came back from her cousin's house obviously with child, Joseph thought she had been sexually immoral and he wanted to quietly divorce her (Mt. 1:19) to spare her from being stoned to death under the Old Testament law, but an angel of the Lord told him not to put her away because she had been faithful and had conceived through the Holy Spirit. We, the Gentiles, do not have betrothal; thus, there is no fornication (sexual immorality) exception in the rest of the New Testament. In other words, today your spouse's cheating does not permit you to remarry after divorce. Furthermore, abandonment and abuse do not justify remarriage either; a party can leave and stay away for safety; however, remarriage is not allowed.
Consider the following passage from Mk. 6:17-18, where John the Baptist told King Herod he was in adultery:
"For Herod himself had given orders to have John arrested, and he had him bound and put in prison. He did this because of Herodias, his brother Philip's wife, whom he had married. For John had been saying to Herod, 'It is not lawful for you to have your brother's wife.'"
Even though Herod had "married" Herodias, she was still considered "Philip's wife." Although Herod and Herodias were not Christians, God's law still applied to them regardless of whether or not they believed it or agreed with it.
To the married I give this command (not I, but the Lord): A wife must not separate from her husband. But if she does, she must remain unmarried or else be reconciled to her husband. And a husband must not divorce his wife (1 Cor. 7:10-11). A woman is bound to her husband as long as he lives (1 Cor. 7:39).
The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God (Gal. 5:19-21).
But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars - their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death (Rev. 21:8).
My "Christian" life had been in vain. For years, even though I did many religious works in Jesus' name and although I called Jesus Lord, I was one of those continuous evildoers (my everyday remarriage adultery) referred to in Mt 7:22-23. Many will say to me on that day, "Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?' Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!"
I was determined to obey the Lord at any cost. But I decided that I was not going to listen to men and devils and their fine sounding arguments. There is no such thing as a Christian adulterer on the road to heaven. I vacated my adulterous remarriage and am completely severed from my old life.
The full statement can be found on the Evangelical Outreach site.

Child Abduction And Keeping Kids Safe - New Children's Book, Paddy The Wee Leprechaun By Viki Doyle Heagy, Teaches Children About The Danger Of Wandering Too Far From Home
A missing child is a parent's greatest fear. It is urgent that all of us - parents, grandparents and educators - impress upon children, (without frightening them), that the world can be a dangerous place. Author Viki Doyle Heagy has written an enchanting and entertaining children's book that does just that, featuring a fascinating character, Paddy the Wee Leprechaun. The book teaches this simple lesson in a way that will engage children in an exciting adventure and would be especially appropriate as a St. Patrick's Day gift.
Paddy is adventurous which tends to get him into trouble. One day he is late home for dinner. His mother is extremely worried and calls upon all leprechauns and fairies in the glen to help search for him. Will Paddy be found? And will Paddy learn from his mistake? This exciting tale will have kids guessing and wondering where Paddy is while presenting a moral to the story, teaching young children not to stray too far away from home.
"Paddy The Wee Leprechaun was originally written for my children," Heagy stated. "I wanted a story that was entertaining and characters that children would love. As the story evolved, I realized that I had the opportunity to convey a valuable lesson to children. This book stresses the importance of staying close to home and the dangers of wandering off.
"My goal for this book is to make Paddy The Wee Leprechaun a book for all seasons, not just for St Patrick’s Day. I hope this book will provide an opening for parents and teachers to talk to children about the importance of letting an adult know where they are at all times and the dangers they can encounter. Child abduction and human trafficking are huge problems in the world today. Since 1983, May 25th has been designated as National Missing Children’s Day. In 2001, The Global Missing Children’s Network made this International Missing Children’s Day as well. If this book helps just one child to remain safe, I will be happy."
Viki believes reading to children is the best gift you can give them. It opens up a new world of adventure and knowledge. Stories should be fun and teach a lesson. A favorite quote of Viki’s is attributed to Albert Einstein. He said “If you want your children to be intelligent, read them fairy tales. If you want them to be more intelligent, read them more fairy tales.”
Heagy was inspired to write children's book as her grandchildren love story time and look forward to the quality time spent with their “Kiki”. When they started pre-school, Viki realized that her granddaughters had concerns about a number of issues. In response she has produced four kids books to date:
Izzie The Inchworm's First Day of School
This book, for preschoolers up to age 8, features Izzie and her friends Barney Beetle, Flora Firefly, Lucy Ladybug and Sam and Stan the Spider twins.
Izzie and her friends provide important lessons on shyness, friendship and character building. This book also provides an opening for a discussion on bullying.
Barney's Clubhouse Adventure
Barney’s Clubhouse Adventure is an entertaining story about teamwork. It picks up the story line from the first book, Izzie the Inchworm’s First Day of School. Barney, Izzie and their friends decide to meet and work on the project. They all have different ideas on how to build the clubhouse. They begin working individually. Disagreements occur. After some discussion, they finally decide on a design.
Barney and his friends learn how to communicate and work together. They realize that by working together as a team, they can accomplish a lot. Everyone uses their talent to help build a fun place to play and hangout. They learn that Together Everyone Achieves More.
Lucy Ladybug Becomes a Big Sister
Lucy Ladybug is excited. Her parents are adopting! Her new brothers and sisters come from Hawaii. Mr. and Mrs. Ladybug host a luau to welcome them to the forest. The new ladybug kids have shells that are a pretty purple. Their adoptive family have red shells. This blended family knows that all that matters is love. Children will learn that color does not matter. Love and acceptance are the key issues.
Lucy Ladybug Becomes a Big Sister centers on adoption and deals with diversity of color. This new adventure will keep children on the edge of their seat while learning a positive lesson. The Izzie The Inchworm series provides a fun way to talk to your children about the issues they face today.
Paddy the Wee Leprechaun
An enchanting and entertaining story following the disappearance of Paddy the Wee Leprechaun. Paddy is adventurous which tends to get him into trouble. One day he is late for dinner. His mother becomes extremely worried and calls upon the leprechauns and fairies in the glen to help search for him. Will Paddy be found?
This exciting tale will have readers guessing where Paddy is while presenting a lesson, teaching children not to stray too far away from home.

Bully Vs Angel - New Book About Bullying And Angels, 'Town Of Angels', By Award Winning Author Jody Sharpe Now Available
Jody Sharpe, award winning author of books about angels, has announced that her latest book,'Town Of Angels', is now available. The new book is available in both print and ebook versions.
In this ongoing series, she presents quotes about angels drawn from several of her books and fascinating angel stories from herself and others who submit stories for publication. She also recently presented a new story about a man who met a male angel sitting on the bed of his wife, who was soon to pass away. The full story is available at her site.
Michelin Rated Tokyo Restaurant, Seisoka, Reviewed By Tokyo-Table, A Guide To The Best Restaurants In Tokyo
Tokyo-Table, branded as the definitive source for dining enthusiasts, has a single mission – to help you experience Tokyo’s most memorable meals. Tokyo-Table shares Kelly Crow’s discoveries with insights into culinary technique, cultural experience, and value. Her distinctive combination of perspectives as a professional chef, economist, and Tokyo resident make Tokyo-Table the go-to site for those who want to fully experience Tokyo dining.
While some travelers may prefer haute cuisine restaurants, others may prefer simple, everyday food. What all travelers have in common is the desire to find the best restaurant in Tokyo, however that might be defined by the food enthusiast.
Tokyo-Table recently offered a review of Seisoka, a 2 Stars Michelin Japanese restaurant located in the Minamiazabu neighborhood of Tokyo.
As Crow stated in her review, "In order for a restaurant to receive a Michelin star, there needs to be an element of the chef’s personality that is palpable and tangible," "The concept, regardless of the cuisine, needs to convey the feelings, the mood and the intent of the chef. It is very challenging to impart your own personality on every aspect of the dining experience, which is why it’s so rare to earn even one Michelin star.
"While I was studying at Le Cordon Bleu I passed by Seisoka twice a day. It was only after a few months that I realized it was even a restaurant when one day the blinds were rolled up and I saw people sitting on tatami mats. Intrigued, I went down the secluded pathway to find the name of the restaurant, but it wasn’t there. It was only by asking friends in my neighborhood that I learned the name and reputation, Seisoka, a 2-star Michelin serving Japanese Zen Buddhist cuisine."
The full review is available at https://tokyo-table.com.
The Tokyo Restaurant Guide is considered to be the ultimate guide to where to eat in Tokyo. Currently the list includes 71 restaurants.
"Having visited every restaurant on this list, I can personally guide you to all the best places and why you should visit them," she stated. "Here you will find a wide variety of restaurants, but they all share in common the perfect mix of hospitality, ambience and quality cuisine to create a memorable evening.
"Tokyo has become the gastronomic capital of the world. In a single week, you can dine in the Tokyo branches of some of the best restaurants from all over the world, including Michelin-starred restaurants from France, Spain, Italy, Japan and China, as well as the very best of what Japan has to offer.
"Tokyo, though, is more than just haute cuisine. It’s also renowned for fabulous everyday food, with an attention to detail that rivals the best restaurants in the world. Tokyo has 234 Michelin-starred restaurants and 278 Michelin Bib Gourmands. And these are just the beginning.
"Tokyo offers the best food for any price range, impeccable quality, and dedication to service at even the humblest of restaurants. But how to choose? My training as a Le Cordon Bleu trained chef will help you to navigate the Tokyo food scene and find the right place for the right moment."
In addition to the Tokyo Restaurant Guide, Tokyo-Table offers Tokyo dining tips (what you need to know BEFORE you dine in Tokyo), and a blog that offers information on individual Tokyo restaurants including cuisine, neighborhood, awards, price ranges, extra charges and links to each restaurant.
"When I review restaurants," Crow concluded, "I bring all the perspectives together and look at three things: quality from the perspective of a professional chef, the warm hospitality of being invited to share something of a culture, and value for the experience."
Tokyo-Table and the online Tokyo Restaurant Guide are the brainchild of Kelly Crow. Kelly trained at Le Cordon Bleu and earned the highest certification, Le Grand Diplome, for mastering both Cuisine and Patisserie. She also holds a degree from UCLA in International Economics.
Kelly Crow is available for media interviews and can be contacted using the information below, or by email at gourmet@tokyo-table.com. More information is available at her website at http://www.tokyo-table.com.

Evangelical Outreach Ex Catholic Dan Corner Takes Issue With The Worship Of Images By The Catholic Church
Corner is a former pastor and Christian author who, over four decades has preached perhaps 1000 or more sermons and has written hundreds of Christian articles and a number of books of vital importance to Christians.
Are the commandments found in the Bible subject to interpretation? Should we allow modern-day influences to color those interpretations? If so, who should be the final authority?
For instance, the First Commandment forbids the worship of images. Yet, according to an article found on catholic.org, the First Commandment "was never understood as an absolute and universal prohibition of any kind of image." The actual wording of the commandment found in Exodus, found in the same article commands "Thou shalt not have strange gods before me. Thou shalt not make to thyself a graven thing, nor the likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or in the earth beneath, nor of those things that are in the waters under the earth. Thou shalt not adore them, nor serve them
What is the truth about the worship of images? Evangelical Outreach ex-Catholic Dan Corner had this to say:
True worship is very important to the Almighty. The PRECIOUS Lord Jesus taught "...true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth" (John 4:23,24).
In contrast to worshiping God in spirit and in truth, is the way pagans worship their false gods by bowing down and kissing images and statues of their likeness (1 Ki. 19:18; Hosea 13:2). Note this similarity to how Catholicism uses their images, according to the Catechism of the Catholic Church:
"The Christian veneration of images is not contrary to the first commandment which proscribes idols. Indeed, 'the honor rendered to an image passes to its prototype,' and "whoever venerates an image venerates the person portrayed in it". (CCC 2132)
"Through sacred images of the holy Mother of God, of the angels and of the saints, we venerate the persons represented". (CCC 1192)
Furthermore, catholic.org stated this: "In kneeling before the crucifix and kissing it we are paying the highest honor to the our Lord's cross as the instrument of our salvation" [sic]. That is exactly what is done in Catholic churches on Good Friday. Catholics sincerely believe they are showing love to the Lord Jesus by bowing down before a crucifix and kissing the feet of the image they consider to represent Jesus Christ.
Unfortunately, Catholics do not know that scripture does not command people to bow down and kiss images or statues, but actually forbids and condemns such a practice. Jesus taught we show our love for him by obeying his commands (Jn. 14:15; 14:23,24), and his commands include not bowing before and kissing images (Ex. 20:4-6; 1 Kings 19:18; etc.).
Dear reader, be assured there were no religious images of any kind whatsoever among the New Testament Christians, much less so when they prayed to or worshiped God. This absence of religious images is clearly consistent with God’s command to worship him in spirit and truth but in contradistinction to the Golden Calf debacle where the people bowed down and sacrificed to their manmade image of gold thinking such were the gods who delivered them out of Egypt:
"So the next day the people rose early and sacrificed burnt offerings and presented fellowship offerings. Afterward they sat down to eat and drink and got up to indulge in revelry. Then the LORD said to Moses, 'Go down, because your people, whom you brought up out of Egypt, have become corrupt. They have been quick to turn away from what I commanded them and have made themselves an idol cast in the shape of a calf. They have bowed down to it and sacrificed to it and have said, These are your gods, O Israel, who brought you up out of Egypt' " (Ex. 32:6-8).
Let it be noted that the whole Golden Calf ordeal was meant to be a festival to the LORD (YHWH), that is, the true God of the Bible (Ex. 32:5)! They were trying to worship and honor God, not a pagan deity. Their idolatrous attempt to worship and sacrifice through an image quickly corrupted them – changing their spiritual identity to idolaters (1 Cor. 10:7) and having their names removed from God's heavenly book (Ex. 32:33).
Although their leader Aaron mistaught them, and despite the Israelite’s sincere attempt to honor and worship Almighty God through this golden calf, they were nonetheless guilty of the sin of idolatry. God, unmoved by their sincerity, refused their false worship; instead he became angry and removed their names from the Book of Life because of their sin of idolatry.
As a boy, I was indoctrinated into Roman Catholicism through "The New Saint Joseph Baltimore Catechism." The version of the Ten Commandments presented to us Catholics only stated the following about idolatry:
"I am the Lord thy God; thou shalt not have strange gods before Me" [ibid., 1962 ed. p. 100.] We knew nothing about Exodus 20:4-6 and especially this passage:
"You saw no form of any kind the day the LORD spoke to you at Horeb out of the fire. Therefore watch yourselves very carefully, so that you do not become corrupt and make for yourselves an idol, an image of any shape, whether formed like a man or a woman, or like any animal on earth or any bird that flies in the air, or like any creature that moves along the ground or any fish in the waters below. And when you look up to the sky and see the sun, the moon and the stars--all the heavenly array--do not be enticed into bowing down to them and worshiping things the LORD your God has apportioned to all the nations under heaven" (Deut. 4:15-19).
Hence, God forbids us to make or bow down to an image in the form of a man or a woman – the very way Catholics are taught to worship God, venerate Mary, and honor the saints.
Idolatry is so offensive and reprehensible to God, that all idolaters will be thrown into the lake of fire for that sin (Rev. 21:8), that is, unless they sincerely turn away from it and get forgiven. So what should Catholics do with their religious images through which they try to worship Jesus or honor Mary and the saints? They should be smashed and removed from their house (Ex. 34:12-14; Deut. 7:25,26). God alone is to be worshiped, excluding veneration to all others. ("Veneration" is a synonym for worship, that is, it means the same thing.)
Catholics must go by God's written word alone and they must realize their magisterium (teaching authorities) have horribly betrayed them by leading them away from Holy Writ in various, dangerous ways. Do not be afraid to believe and act solely on God's word. You are 100% safe to go by the Bible alone. Remember, scripture is final spiritual authority (2 Tim. 3:16,17), forever settled (Mt. 24:35) and called the word of life (Jn. 6:68; Phil. 2:16).
Dan Corner, a former pastor, is the author of a number of books including 'The Believer's Conditional Security: Eternal Security Refuted', 'The Myth of Eternal Security' and 'Is this the Mary of the Bible?'. He also provides a massive amount of information on his websites.
Ex Catholic Dan Corner is available for media interviews, including debates, and can be reached using the information below or by email at eternallifeblog@gmail.com, by phone at 724-632-3210 or by mail at PO Box 265, Washington, PA, 15301. About Dan Corner:
After graduating from college, Dan Corner got saved by reading the Bible. For over four decades, he has diligently served the Lord Jesus. Dan Corner's pastoral, apologetic, counter cult and street evangelism experiences have equipped him to contend for the faith and win souls to Jesus from many backgrounds.
He is an ordained minister and director of Evangelical Outreach who pastored for almost seven years and has authored hundreds of Christian articles, answered thousands of emails and letters and has written several books of vital importance in our day.

How To Make Valentine's Day Last All Year - 'Where There Is Love' By Award-Winning Author Donna Fletcher Crow, A 6-Book Historical Series Of The Enduring Legacy Of Love And Faith
Valentine's Day is the holiday set aside to celebrate love. Those of us who participate in that celebration will usually offer some kind of gift to that special someone. Some of us give flowers, some give candy, while others may opt for a romantic dinner at a special restaurant. Unfortunately, despite our best intentions, all of these traditional means of celebration share a few common traits - they are not necessarily unique and, (sadly), are limited, as they fade with passing time. Given the opportunity, we would probably prefer to give something unique that is of a more permanent nature. One special gift that meets both criteria is the "Where There Is Love" series of romantic historical novels by award-winning author Donna Fletcher Crow—inspiring, true stories of enduring love.
'Where There is Love' is an all-new presentation of Donna Fletcher Crow's beloved 'Cambridge Chronicles', a series chronicling the history, faith and loves of the men and women who galvanized eighteenth and nineteenth century England. The boxed set includes:
Where Love Begins
Can Catherine Perronet find happiness when her beloved Charles Wesley marries another? Catherine undertakes the joys and hardships of a circuit-ride preaching tour to Canterbury where a French invasion threatens, then must face the terrors of the Great London Earthquake before coming to an understanding of the gentle calling God has for her.
Where Love Illumines
Mary Tudway must choose: a life of pleasure amidst London’s high society or a life of faith and service with the devout Rowland Hill? The story moves through the fashionable worlds of London and Bath as the death of one friend, the elopement of another and the startling unveiling of the Highwayman of Hampstead Heath play their parts in illumining Mary’s understanding so she can make a choice of lasting value.
Where Love Triumphs
Charming, brilliant and lame, Sir Brandley Hilliard believes he can do very well without love of any kind in his life—until he meets the captivating Elinor Silbert. Brandley’s search takes a destructive turn until Charles Simeon, Fellow of King’s College, takes the young gownsman under his wing and shows him a life beyond any his academic pursuits had taught him.
Where Love Restores
Granville Ryder’s harsh up-bringing means he must struggle to find his place in his illustrious family, in God’s work, and in Georgiana’s heart. The story moves from Cambridge to the historic Badminton House, to London to Wales, until the terrors of the Cato Street Rebellion (more dangerous than the notorious Guy Fawkes Plot) lead Granville to restoration and love.
Where Love Shines
In Scutari, the charge of the Light Brigade leaves Lt. Richard Grayson blinded and Jennifer Neville, one of Florence Nightengale’s nurses, devastated. Back in London Jennifer throws herself into charity work and is horrified to learn that Richard’s family’s wealth is built on the potteries where children are subjected to unimaginable brutality. The fight for social justice offers a way out of the darkness for both of them..
Where Love Calls
Hilda Beauchamp believes that God guides the life of every believer—and that it is her job to guide God. Kynaston Studd is on fire to carry the love of God to the ends of the earth, but God seems to be calling his friends there instead; and Hilda is horrified to find herself falling in love with the man she had intended for her sister.
Donna Fletcher Crow is the author of 45 books, mostly novels of British history. The award-winning 'Glastonbury', an Arthurian grail search epic covering 15 centuries of English history, is her best-known work.
The Lord Danvers series is an Amazon bestseller in the British Detectives category. Books in the series include 'A Lethal Spectre, 'A Most Inconvenient Death', 'Grave Matters', 'To Dust You Shall Return' and 'A Tincture of Murder'.
The Monastery Murders are contemporary clerical mysteries with clues hidden in medieval history. Titles are: 'A Very Private Grave', 'A Darkly Hidden Truth', 'An Unholy Communion', 'A Newly Crimsoned Reliquary', and 'An All-Consuming Fire'.
The Elizabeth & Richard Mysteries is a literary suspense series using favorite authors as background: Rudyard Kipling in 'The Flame Ignites', Dorothy L Sayers in 'The Shadow of Reality', Shakespeare in 'A Midsummer Eve's Nightmare', and Jane Austen in both 'A Jane Austen Encounter' and 'A Most Singular Venture'.
The Daughters of Courage, 'Kathryn', 'Elizabeth' and 'Stephanie' is a pioneer family saga based on the stories of Crow's own family and other Idaho pioneers in the Kuna, Nampa and Boise area.
Where There is Love is a 6-book historical series of the enduring legacy of love and faith—stories of real people and stirring events through 18th and 19th century England.

Where Love Calls
Hilda Beauchamp finds great satisfaction from her charity work, helping the poor living in the slums of Victorian England. When she meets devout Christian Kynaston Studd, Hilda decides he is the perfect man to tame her flighty sister Ida. Unfortunately, the more Hilda learns about Kynaston and his plans to become a medical missionary in China, the more she comes to accept that he is actually the perfect man for herself. However, Hilda believes she may have decided this too late. Writing about actual people is always challenging and Crow succeeds in the task of making them human rather than saintly. Recommended. ~ Melissa Hudak, Library Journal
. . . Kynaston was the leader, the first within his circle to catch the vision of going to China. But God seems to be calling his friends there instead. Hilda’s heart, too, is being drawn in a new direction. What does it all mean, this disruption of their dreams? When will God reveal his purpose for each of them?
