Dr. Diorio is a multi-award-winning author. She has appeared in over 100 national magazines, newspapers, and journals. The new Christian book for kids remains true to Scriptural principles and presents the truth about Jesus
Dr. MaryAnn Diorio, multi-award winning author and teacher, has announced the release of a Christian-based children's picture book entitled 'Who Is Jesus?' The new book, specifically written for children ages 2 to 8, presents a picture of Jesus drawn from a Scriptural perspective. Diorio has written seven books, been a contributor to eight others, and has published seven booklets. She brings her considerable talent ajnd impressive background together in 'Who Is Jesus?' to create a work that is certain to become a classic in the Christian Children's books genre.
Dr. Diorio holds numerous degrees including the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in French with a concentration in Comparative Literature, the Doctor of Ministry (DMin) degree in Christian Counseling, the Master of Philosophy (MPhil) degree in French with a concentration in Comparative Literature, the Master of Arts (MA) degree in Italian Language & Literature, the Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree in Writing Popular Fiction with a concentration in Writing for Children and the Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in French.
She has won numerous awards, including Third Place for “From Feminism to Freedom” AMY Writing Awards; Fifth Place, National Writers’ Club Short Story Contest for “The Birthmark”; Top 100 Short Stories ranking for “The Birthmark”, Writers’ Digest Short Story Contest; Honorable Mention for radio script, TAKE ONE Radio Theatre; Second Place for Novel, St. Davids Christian Writers’ Conference Contest; Third Place in Women’s Fiction, American Christian Fiction Writers (ACFW) Genesis Contest; Second Place in Inspirational Category for Novel, East Texas RWA Southern Heat Contest; Second Place in Historical Category for Novel, Romance Writers’ Ink Where the Magic Begins Contest; First Place in Inspirational Category for Novel, Colorado RWA Heart of the Rockies Contest; and First Place in Inspirational Category for Novel, Spacecoast Launching a Star Contest.
“Children ask tough questions,” Diorio says. “Questions like ‘Does Jesus still love me when I’m naughty?’ These kinds of questions can pose a special challenge to parents, grandparents, and caregivers as they teach their children about God.”

Pat Chalfant, Author Of 'Spirit Lights, Offers Alternative Solution To Those Who Might Be Considering Suicide
According to the American Foundation For Suicide Prevention's 2012 Annual Report, there are 38,000 suicides in the US annually. While many people see no other option, Chalfant believes there are options and those options are available to anyone
According to the American Foundation For Suicide Prevention's 2012 Annual Report, there are 38,000 suicides in the US annually. Another source claims that this makes suicide the 10th leading cause of death in the US. These numbers are staggering.
Regardless of form, a sense of hopelessness lies at the very heart of the desire to end one's life through suicide. Pat Chalfant, author of 'Spirit Lights, A Path To Mediumship', believes that death is not the end, but is instead a transition. In her work she has observed that hopelessness can be turned into hope when life and death are viewed in their proper perspectives.
"Recently a woman I was giving an initial reading to told me she had cried all day long for many weeks because she feared she might kill herself," Chalfant stated. "I began to tell her about an earlier client of mine, Sonya, who had also had suicidal thoughts, and about Sonya’s fiancé who had not been able to overcome his suicidal thoughts and actually did kill himself. I had read for Sonya and contacted her deceased fiancé. That made Sonya want to study mediumship so that she might perhaps contact her deceased fiancé for herself through mediumship, even though I told her that it might be a long time before she developed enough to do that. Sonya and I were in class together one day and when we reached the end of the final part of the class, the general meditation, I closed the meditation by inquiring if Sonya whose eyes were still closed was aware of being in class; she replied that she was but immediately began telling me that she had never had such a wonderful experience before."
"I asked what she meant and she proceeded to tell me what she had seen and heard and how she had been completely healed of her suicidal fears starting with the fact that she had seen her fiancé and that he looked as if he were alive and she could see for herself that he was, indeed, alive and well. What happened after that was that she was healed in the most remarkable way, one I could never have imagined. My book tells the reader this blessed story in the chapter titled, “A Visit During a Tutorial…" What happened saved Sonya’s life. I hope it will be as health-giving for readers as it has been for me and others."
Chalfant has also written a column on parapsychology and interviewed Hollywood stars and the psychics who read for them for a national newspaper.
Chalfant's groundbreaking new book, 'Spirit Lights A Path To Mediumship', explains how a skeptic developed mediumship abilities and took her life down a path to a life transformed by the spiritual. She considers the book to be an "autobiographical textbook."
Pat understands that mediumship is a controversial issue, but also believes that credible mediumship holds the promise of benefits for mankind that have not been fully explored. This is especially true for those who are contemplating suicide, or whose lives have been affected by suicide.
In addition to client consultations, Pat has penned the 'Spirit Lights Song Book'. She also does readings for clients by phone and teaches mediumship development classes. She has also created a DVD entitled 'Spirit Lights Psychic Development DVD'.
Pat Chalfant is currently appearing on The Authors Show. Her interview is available now at The Authors Show site. 'Spirit Lights A Path To Mediumship' is available at her website and at Amazon. Pat is available for media interviews and can be reached using the information below or by email at pat.chalfant@patchalfant.com. More information is available at her website at http://www.patchalfant.com.

Author Grace Mattioli Announces New Release Of Realistic Fiction Novel, 'Discovery Of An Eagle'
Mattioli delivers insight through story. She writes moving tales that combine the insight and inspiration of 'The Alchemist' with the humor and quirkiness of 'A Confederacy Of Dunces'
Author Grace Mattioli has announced the release of her latest realistic fiction novel, 'Discovery Of An Eagle'.
"I wrote 'Discovery of an Eagle'" said Mattioli, "because I’ve been wanting to write an American road story since the first time I drove cross country over 20 years ago. This experience changed me in many ways and I wanted to convey the transformative power of this experience through story. Even more, I wanted to write a story which explored issues dealing with life, death, happiness and spirituality. I’ve been contemplating such issues since I was a child, and writing this book helped me to find some answers for myself, while enabling me to share these insights with the world."
In the story line of this humorous fiction novel, 28 year old Cosmo Greco wakes up when he realizes that death is imminent. This cross country story is set against the backdrop of the American road; it is filled with vivid, soulful descriptions, humor and a cast of colorful characters, such as Crazy Ted and Truck Stop Angel. Although the second book in the Greco family trilogy, Discovery of an Eagle can be read as a stand-alone. Reviewers such as Kirkus and Midwest Book Review have called this work of realistic fiction a poignant and well-drawn soaring story that opens readers’ eyes to new perspectives.
Mattioli’s contemporary fiction books are filled with vivid descriptions- she paints pictures with words. Her characters are extremely dimensional and alive; they’re always surprising her by their words and actions. While her books are realistic fiction about such serious issues as family relations, death and addiction, they are very humorous and fun; readers will be entertained as they gain valuable insights that they can take with them long after they have finished the last page.
"Readers will enjoy this book," Mattioli stated, "because they will feel that they’re along on the journey as Cosmo and Silvia traverse vividly described landscapes and encounter many colorful characters along the way. The lovable Cosmo pulls the reader in and makes him every bit as invested in the story's outcome as is Cosmo himself. His search for life's meaning becomes the reader's quest as well. His struggle to overcome his fear of change allows the reader to re-examine her fears and perhaps set out on quests of her own."
Grace Mattioli is available for media interviews and can be reached using the information below, or by email at grace@gracemattioli.com. Mattioli's contemporary fiction books are available at Powell’s, Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Kobo and iTunes. More information on all her work is available at her website at http://www.gracemattioli.com.
About Grace Mattioli:
Grace Mattioli is the author of two realistic fiction novels: 'Olive Branches Don’t Grow On Trees' and 'Discovery of an Eagle'. She also has several pieces of flash fiction published on the UK Short Humour site. Be sure to check out the story entitled 'Something He Could See Himself In'.
She has worked as a librarian for over 18 years and has been writing creatively since she was a child. Her favorite author is Flannery O’Connor. Her favorite book is Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. Head Injury, Brain Trauma And Brain Damage: Anthony Wright, Author Of 'You Can Self Heal', Offers Hope To Survivors
Head injuries are making headlines all over the US today. While most of these stories center on the negative results of brain injury, Wright believes there is hope for even the worst cases. He knows, as he has been there
A recent article on the Time Magazine website by Sean Gregory was titled, "Are NFL Head Injuries Causing Domestic Violence?" The article centered on Jovan Belcher who killed his girlfried before committing suicide. As a result of a wrongful death lawsuit filed against the Chiefs, it was discovered that Belcher's brain showed signs of damage consistent with CTE (Chronice Traumatic Encephalopathy). This is not the only high profile case in which brain trauma is seen to be a cause of violent behavior. There is another side to the story. Anthony Wright, author of 'You Can Self Heal', provides an insightful and enlightening look at brain trauma from the perspective of a victim.
"I guess Hollywood and the news media would have the public believe that we all become axe murderers," Wright stated. "The truth of course is rather different."
"Head injury is a long-term condition; I am in year five of recovery and now just about 90 per cent of my former self. There are very many issues associated with head injury but long-term depression is quite common. The head injury version is quite drug resistant and bipolar in nature. The suicide rates for head injury survivors are two, sometimes three times the general population. Neither conventional medication, nor therapies seem to be very effective in this area. An entire book could be written on the subject of personality changes following such injuries. This may account for the poor relationship survival post injury. Marital breakup, divorce - even family disintegration is not uncommon."
"The sad irony is that there are things that one can do and many are unaware of this. In the UK, our Medical Services are absolutely first rate in terms of emergency intervention with drugs or surgery. But the system does not work so well for long-term rehabilitation. For me the full diagnosis in 2009 was confusion, dyslexic speech, short term memory loss, with English skills reduced to that of a 15 year old. There was no suggestion that our Health Service could do anything about it."
Anthony Wright suffered through nine operations for his brain tumors and their consequences. At 45, after early diagnosis and delays, Tony deliberately faked a hearing test, which provoked an emergency MRI scan. The scan revealed a large, golf ball sized brain tumor and led to an NF2 diagnosis. There were further delays and later, he discovered through his own research, that he had vision complications from Papilledema, a rare condition which if untreated leads to permanent blindness. This was confirmed by a doctor. A successful operation followed to save his sight.
The operation for the main tumor a year later did not go so well. Complications meant that a second then third operation were required just days later. This now became a life or death struggle. He did expire during one operation. The surgeons saved his life but he lost hearing, balance and facial nerves. He was now in a coma, losing more than 25Kgs body weight in the following weeks. Tony was now unable to walk, confused and very weak. His face collapsed on one side.
He was moved to a rehabilitation unit to learn to walk. While still in a wheelchair, he broke into their gym and started to use the equipment. Just three weeks later, Tony was discovered by a rather surprised off-duty nurse in a local pub – just sitting down to steak and chips.
Upon returning home he could walk, but was weak with typical brain injury symptoms. These included fatigue and confusion with dyslexia and memory loss. His mind and body had been extensively damaged; but Tony wanted his life back. He understood there was a need for a plan encompassing all aspects of mind and body in order to recover. He developed his own self recovery plan. His plan, a combination of brain and physical exercises, prove to be very successful. He can now run two miles or walk ten, while his speed of speech has increased by a third.
"I have been on a journey of self-healing, rebuilding rewiring my brain ever since. It seems you can actively promote the neuro plasticity in your own brain; my speed of speech is now fully a third faster than five years ago, I conduct public training courses and of course I am author. The interesting thing in all of this is not so much the improvements in mental cognitive capacity, which are certainly there. But the mood balance is definitely improved as well."
Anthony Wright is available for media interviews and can be reached using the information below or by email at anthony@anthonywrightrecovery.com. 'You Can Self Heal" is available at Amazon. Wright's interview can be heard October 10 through October 12 at The Authors Show site at http://www.TheAuthorsShow.com. More information is available at Wright's website at http://www.AnthonyWrightRecovery.com.
About Anthony Wright:
Anthony Wright inspires recovery. As the result of a brain tumor, he suffered through nine operations, two radio-therapies, spent a week in a coma and a month in a wheelchair. He died once, was brain damaged, nearly blinded, crippled and his face collapsed. He lost 75% of his hearing, his job, his career, his identity, and his future. Through his personally developed self healing strategies and techniques he recovered. Today he can run two miles or walk ten. He lifts weights and plays golf (better than before, he claims). He is now a speaker, a self recovery trainer and an author of a book on self recovery.

Lesson Plan For Teachers: Dr Barbara Becker Holstein Offers 'Diary Of A Gutsy Tween' To Help 5th and 6th Graders Build Self Esteem
Lesson plans and teaching aids can be found everywhere. Few offer ways to build self esteem that are based in real world scenarios. Dr. Holstein believes building self esteem is of the highest priority today
Dr. Barbara Becker Holstein, internationally known Positive Psychologist and author of 'The Truth, Diary Of A Gutsy Tween' is offering no charge copies of her latest work to educators who want to help 5th and 6th grade students build self esteem.
Dr. Holstein commented: "I wrote 'The Truth, Diary of a Gutsy Tween', so that any elementary school teacher could open up to just about any page, read it aloud to her class, and start a great discussion about the issue or issues brought up by the girl on that page. Everything is discussed in her diary: a first crush, her emotions and longings, growing up, parents fighting, school anxieties, problems with best friends, bullying, fear of moving to a new town, sibling rivalry, anxiety about illness, how to navigate growing up, etc. As a positive psychologist I see such a need for this type of fiction, where teachers and students can immediately jump in to the trials, tribulations and successes of a fictional character and use her reactions to life as building blocks for self-esteem growth and personal understanding of the typical issues we all face as we move from childhood into the tweens."
The new book is a revised and expanded edition of her very successful book, 'The Truth: I'm a Girl, I'm Smart and I Know Everything'. The new book is published by Sky Pony Press. Dr. Holstein's book is a first in using fiction for embedding positive psychology concepts.
Dr. Holstein has received very positive feedback from both readers and educators. One young reader stated, "The minute my friend told me about your book I started to read it and I absolutely loved your book! I really liked how you didn't include the girls name so we could try to make it up our selves. I also liked how she said her thoughts and you can totally picture how she feels. Please email me back."
An educator stated, ""As a teacher I was looking for a book that addressed many issues girls ages 9 to 12 may incur. This book certainly opens up communication between a mother and her daughter, and in doing so it also bridges the gap between other adults, as well....I am looking forward to implementing this easy read book into my classroom in order to impress upon my students how to gain some very necessary coping skills to carry with them in their lives."
Dr. Holstein is making the book available to teachers and educators upon request. She can be contacted by email at drbarbara@enchantedself.com. All of her works are available at Amazon, Barnes and Noble and all other online retailers. More information is available at her website at http://www.TheTruthForGirls.com.

Author Brinn Colenda's 'Chita Quest' Named As Finalist In New Mexico-Arizona Book Co-op Awards
In the tradition of WEB Griffin, Tom Clancy and Bernard Cornwell, Brinn Colenda writes military themed novels that reflect military members and their families thrust into extraordinary circumstances
Author Brinn Colenda's newest release, 'Chita Quest', has been named as a finalist in two categories in the New Mexico-Arizona Book Co-op Awards. The book placed in both the adventure/drama and mystery/suspense categories.
"I am delighted," Colenda stated, "at the number and variety of awards my books have won recently. They represent a wide and varied audience which is very gratifying and something that most authors dream about. The Florida Authors and Publishers President's Awards for 'Chita Quest' were in two categories, action/suspense and cover design. The Military Writers Society of America silver medal in the thriller category was the second major award for 'Cochabamba Conspiracy'. And 'Chita Quest' is currently named as finalist in two categories, adventure/drama and mystery/suspense, by the New Mexico-Arizona Book Co-op Awards to be presented in late November. It's very exciting."
Thriller books, especially military fiction, are Brinn Colenda's specialty. He is committed to creating international works of fiction that are character-driven with dynamic, well-developed plots. His works are based on real-life people and experiences. 'Chita Quest' brings a sense of realism to his work that is seldom seen in the military thriller genre for good reason – he has been there. Colenda spent 20 plus years traveling the globe as a pilot and a political-military officer. Colenda’s work has also garnered awards and notice from SouthWest Writers and the Military Writers Society of America.
"I started writing my action thriller, 'Cochabamba Conspiracy', shortly after leaving a tour of duty in the U.S. Embassy in La Paz, Bolivia," Colenda stated. "Later I turned that book into a series with the publication of 'Chita Quest'. Both novels are international thrillers with political and military undertones. Both feature U.S. Air Force Colonel Tom Callahan and his family and associates. The characters are all fictional, products of my fevered imagination and composites of people I had the pleasure (or misfortune) of serving with during my twenty-plus years in the Air Force."
Reviewers have raved about Colenda's work and in regards to Chita Quest have stated, “an exciting blend of military intrigue, political suspense, travelogue, and romance - riveting flying sequences and chase scenes - Colenda brings expertise to real characters and fast, intriguing plotting - a thrilling adventure - (a) blend of political intrigue and family values - Colenda is a master storyteller…”
Brinn Colenda is available for media interviews and can be reached using the information below or by email at bcolenda@newmex.com. All of Colenda's works are available at Southern Yellow Pine Publishing. More information is available at his website at http://www.BrinnColenda.us.
About Brinn Colenda:
Brinn Colenda's works are based on real-life experiences. Those experiences were broad and varied including flying missions in South East Asia, an exchange instructor pilot with Britain’s Royal Air Force, commander of an USAF overseas base, Chief of the Air Force Section of the Military Group in the U.S. Embassy-Bolivia, and a Defense Fellow at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University.

Gail Lawley, Author Of Assisted Living Resource Book, 'It's Your Move', Announces November Event Schedule
Lawley's work is a resource covering independent living, retirement homes, in home care, retirement communities, independent living services and much more
Gail Lawley, author of 'It's Your Move', a resource book for seniors, has announced her upcoming schedule of events for November, 2014. 'It's Your Move' is an in-depth guide to senior living choices. The book addresses topics such as assisted living, independent living, retirement homes, in home care, retirement communities, independent living services and much more.
'It's Your Move' is a workbook for those who are contemplating where they want to live for the rest of their lives, or for children having to choose “at home” or “in a facility” for a parent. There are many books on the market that discuss these choices. The focus of Lawley's book is decision-making and comparing facilities; most others focus on planning and paying for what is chosen. The book is for readers who have lost a spouse or partner, are tired of taking care of a house or who may hate to cook for one or two or are tired of home and yard maintenance. The book addresses issues such as having a spouse who is showing signs of mental deterioration, discovering a physical problem or disease that is only going to get worse with time, the desire to travel without worrying about the home, the need to quit driving and a host of other issues.
“A friend told me," Lawley stated, "that he wouldn’t buy my book because all my reviews on Amazon were 5 star and he thought I must have had friends write them. In reality, only one is from a friend”
“I wrote this book because I see adult children or friends and neighbors wait until they have a crisis before addressing the issue of where to live if you can no longer live independently. At that point they have to decide quickly thus lists are more helpful than a lengthy story.”
'It's Your Move' explains the available choices and provides readers with references where they can get more information. Using 33 tables, the book itemizes things one should consider, from costs of staying in the home to nursing home care and costs. The lists helps one compare what it will cost to stay at home versus the costs of living in a retirement community. It will help readers to compare current costs to those of communities under consideration and will alert readers to items they need to understand about assisted living, from Medicaid approved nursing homes to Medicare payments for hospice. The information and lists of questions in this book guide readers through all of the choices available, points to additional references and serves as an objective source for the decisions one must make regarding assisted living.

Genetic Engineering Going Forward - A. W. Daniels, Author Of 'Genetically Privileged', Offers A Glimpse Into The Future
Genetic engineering is a double edged sword and an incredibly divisive issue. Some see it as a means to dramatically improve the quality of life. Others see it as a vicious attack on nature. The truth is likely somewhere in between
A new large scale study appeared online on October 7 in Molecular Psychiatry. The study demonstrated that genes play a role in individual responses to caffeine, and can influence some types of habitual behaviors, such as alcohol consumption and smoking. While this may seem simple on the surface, the implications for the manipulation of the genes that govern such behaviors (in the wrong hands) are staggering. What would be the end effect of creating a society in which 'unwanted' habitual behaviors are eliminated? And, a more important question perhaps: Who would decide which behaviors are 'unwanted'? The public? The government? The church? Mega-corporations?
A. W. Daniels has written two fiction novels that address the societal impacts of genetic engineering, 'Genetically Privileged' and 'Genetically Conflicted'. While works of fiction, his critically acclaimed books explore a topic that many find wildly controversial. He believes the issues are not clear cut.
"This is a classic example," stated Daniels, "of the genetic predisposition vs. environmental influence argument and further shows how the two sides may be more related, or intertwined, than previously thought.
"We may be predisposed genetically to an outside influence, such as caffeine or smoking, which can affect our daily habits. One person’s ability to metabolize a specific ingredient we consume can differ greatly from another’s thus affecting the ways we interact we our environment."
"This means our genetic structure provides a foundation from which the majority of our actions, and reactions, to the world around us are based, implying that even our personal observations are rooted in our genes."
"Humans are thought to have one natural instinct, to suckle, which allows us to be breast fed as a newborn. Is this study telling us there may be more instincts, however sublime, that we have yet to identify?"
"What if one is determined to be “predisposed” to a trait that is considered undesirable? Might that individual be genetically modified? Might that individual be segregated into a caste system that allows only the genetically “fit” to progress in society? Or worse, may they be discarded in an attempt to homogenize society?"
"The big question is; who is deciding just what is, and what is not, desirable?"
Critics have praised "Genetically Privileged", calling it "an insightful spin of science exploring genetic engineering" and "An inventive, intriguing novel."
In a recent review, Midwest Book Review stated, "The sequel to A. W. Daniels' science fiction thriller 'Genetically Privileged', 'Genetically Conflicted', continues to demonstrate Daniel's narrative storytelling skills as he expands on his complexly woven world of the future. A solid entertainment from beginning to end, 'Genetically Conflicted' is very highly recommended reading for all science fiction enthusiasts."
"Genetically Privileged" addresses the advancements of technology and science as Daniels speculates on the social impact of those developments, centered around a group of genetically engineered children. In "Genetically Conflicted", the seemingly idyllic world of the genetically engineered students from "Genetically Privileged" is shattered as they are confronted by a foe bent on destroying not only their lifestyle but also those responsible for their very existence.
Recent interviews with A.W. Daniels' can be accessed at The Authors Show site at http://www.theauthorsshow.com. Daniels is available for media interviews and can be reached using the information below or by email at aw.daniels@yahoo.com. Both books are available at Amazon, Smashwords and CreateSpace. More information is available at Daniels' website at http://www.AWDaniels.net.
About A. W. Daniels:
"Genetically Privileged" and"'Genetically Conflicted" are the first two offerings in a series of works by A. W. Daniels. The author's ability to craft compelling stories has been honed by extensive travel and observation of the human nature. This allows Mr. Daniels to weave a tapestry that colorfully, and sometimes bluntly, exposes the good and evil humankind inflicts on each other daily.

National Hug Your Hound Day Created By Ami Moore, The Chicago Dog Coach
The holiday was created to increase the bond between dogs and dog owners and to help owners see the world as dogs see it
Nationally recognized dog expert Ami Moore, The Chicago Dog Coach, has declared the 2nd Sunday in September 'National Hug Your Hound Day'. The holiday was created to increase the bond between dogs and their owners and to help dog owners see the world as dogs see it. Moore was the focus of an article written for 'The Dog Blog', by Jen Reeder, award winning pet writer.
"National Hug Your Hound Day," Moore stated, "is celebrated annually on the 2nd Sunday in September. This day is dedicated to celebrating the bond between you and your dog. National Hug Your Hound Day is about truly observing your dog (from their point of view) in their environment and everyday life and for just one day to see the word as your dog sees it. As you celebrate your beloved dog , remember that today is about keeping our dog’s healthy, happy and safe at home and in our hearts."
Ami Moore's desire is to make America more 'pup friendly', as it is in Europe. She would like for our dogs to be accepted in more places, especially public ones such as taxis, malls and restaurants and to appreciate the companionship our dogs give us and the value of it, both emotionally and physically.
How can we make America more 'pup friendly'? In the Dog Blog piece, Moore's advice is to " . . .take your dog everywhere you can. In most states, the way the law is written, you can take your dog anywhere as long as food is not being served. Have people hug your dog. Say, ‘Would you like to pet my dog? You can hug him – give him a treat.’ It’s a holiday to bring dogs to people who might not have them in their lives.”
"Spend a little extra time with your dog, get down to their level and make sure their environment and the places you take them are warm, comforting, inviting and safe. Oh yeah, and give your hound a hug."
The Chicago Dog Coach, Ami Moore, CMT, CMVT is a leading expert in dog psychology. Her much acclaimed book, 'The Alphatude Attitude' was part of the curriculum at the Vancouver Island College Of Natural Wellness.
After attending three dog training schools Ami Moore started dog training in Chicago. She was awarded the Chicagoland Tails award for best dog trainer in Chicago and has been honored by various charities for her work with rehabilitating aggressive dogs. Ms. Moore also created the famous Guerrilla Group Obedience classes, and the 'Fido Fat Camp' concept so that loving pet owners could holistically increase their dog's health and wellness with exercise, natural food and psychological rehabilitation techniques. Ami Moore offered one of the first Chicago dog yoga or Doga classes in the city of Chicago.
She developed a three-tiered dog training and dog behavior management system based upon Alphatude, Amiability and Activity to balance the mind and body of the Chicago urban dog and dog owner which is explained in detail in her book. Children's Book Author A. J. Cosmo's Mission Is To Set Kids Up For Success In Life Through Early Reading
Studies show that learning to read early in life impacts the future of children in a big way. A. J. Cosmo's mission is to teach important lessons through silly stories that engage children in powerful ways. This all begins at a very young age
A recent article by education reporter John Higgins in the Seattle Times detailed a study at the University of Washington on how kids learn. Children are not born with the skills needed for reading and writing. Those skills must be developed. The skills develop over time and dramatically impact future learning, success and ultimately happiness. The studies show that time spent reading aloud to children, asking questions and practicing 'serve and return' conversations can form neural connections that are extremely important.
Patricia Kuhl, co-director of UW's Institute for Learning and Brain Sciences was quoting in the article, stating “It’s not a fancy toy or a television set; it’s you and your time. Your kid’s brain is not a turnkey system; it really does require you to talk and play and challenge cognitively.”
A very large part of A. J. Cosmo's mission is to encourage this early skill development though silly stories in the form of children's books that engage children. The kid's stories are carefully crafted to help parents teach their children simple everyday lessons in an easy to understand manner. By artfully marrying beautiful illustrations and language, children are challenged to explore his magical worlds. Written for the transitional reader, A.J.'s stories allow children to develop and master a new level of reading.
"When you read with a child you are creating the story with them. You are the actors, the director, the audience, and even the author. You decide what your child learns."
A.J. is the author & illustrator of over forty children's books for the Amazon Kindle including the best selling "The Monster That Ate My Socks" which spent almost two years at the top of the Monster category and in the top 500 books overall. While much of his work is centered around the concept of monsters, A. J. manages to create characters that are funny, unique and wildly engaging.
"I try to hide the morals in the stories and allow for flexibility. We are all storytellers, that's why this matters, when we read to a child we are helping them to tell the story of their lives."
A. J. Cosmo is available for media interviews and can be reached using the information below or by email at aj@ajcosmo.com. All of Cosmo's works are available at Amazon. More information is available at his website at http://www.ajcosmo.com.

Ami Moore, The Chicago Dog Coach, Strongly Urges Dog and Cat Owners to Avoid Licensing Their Pets In The United States
Moore, one of the nation's top dog training experts believes it is urgent to discuss the topic of dog and cat licensing in America. Many dogs in the US go unlicensed. Ami Moore questions if that can create serious problems for both dogs and dog owners
A recent article on the KCRW website in Los Angeles addressed the problem of unlicensed dogs in the LA area. The professed benefits of licensing pet dogs and cats are to provide the means to reunite owners with lost pets, help curb disease and reduce stray pet populations. Ami Moore, a Chicago dog training expert widely known as 'The Chicago Dog Coach', believes this issue may be looked at in another way.
“I believe that mandatory licensing of dogs is an unfair tax on dog lovers. I do not believe that the government has the right to make you pay a tax for owning a dog or cat. Another occurrence that I see is that cities will make you pay an increased fee if your dog or cat is intact, yet current research shows that dogs that are left intact, the way Nature intended, live longer, are healthier and have greater resistance against cancer and glandular diseases,” says Ami the Chicago Dog Coach. “I think the government needs to stay out of my pocketbook and out of my dogs panties.”
"I am also against penalties for vets if the don’t release the names of dog owners and their dogs to governments. I believe that what happens between a vet and a dog owner is private and the medical professional cannot and should not be compelled to give lists of client’s names to the government."
"I am sick of the current 'Nanny-State' mindset of our country where every act of personal freedom and pleasure is controlled and taxed. If people want to donate to shelter and rescues, then let them do that instead of paying a tax on their pet. I have not seen any evidence that licensing contributes in better health or welfare of either owned dogs or dogs in pounds or shelters."

Anthony Wright, Author Of 'You Can Self Heal', To Be Featured On The Authors Show October 10 Through October 12, 2014
Anthony Wright inspires recovery. His story clearly demonstrates that people can self heal. A dramatic story of willpower, determination and courage, Wright's book offers proof that anyone can self heal
Anthony Wright, author of 'You Can Self Heal', will appear on The Authors Show October 10 through October 12, 2014. In the interview he discusses his recovery from a brain tumor that threatened to take his life.
"This book," Wright stated, "outlines for readers all of the positive steps I took in my recovery and will enable one to revitalize one's natural healing powers. They will able to encourage and motivate all their resources - mind and body - to self heal. The book is a map or guide that will offer a structured, self-managed approach for self healing. The message from the book is 'You can get your life back'."
Tony has since formed “Recovery”, a business that provides inspiration and guidance for all those seeking to recover from major medical traumas. The concept is “You Can Self-Heal”. There are training courses and a book based on his recovery plan. He also offers services to charities such as public speaking, fundraising or activities to support the self-managed recovery message.

Anthony Wright, author of 'You Can Self Heal', will appear on The Authors Show October 10 through October 12, 2014. In the interview he discusses his recovery from a brain tumor that threatened to take his life.

Teens Record Every Moment Of Their Lives - Dr. Barbara Becker Holstein, Author Of 'The Truth, Diary Of A Gutsy Teen', Offers Guidance
Should people record every moment of their lives - from plane crashes to funerals? Is there a time when we should say no? Dr. Holstein, the author of a popular book for teens and tweens, believes this is a not a simple question
A recent article in the New York Times told the story of Scott Welch, who made national news with a selfie and videos taken on a plane that, for all he knew at the time, might have been doing down. The two short videos went viral. Though difficult to believe for some, it could be said to be a sign of our times - one that some see as positive and others might view as negative. Teens and tweens may not question such actions at all, as their worldview is completely different. They have been practically raised with a cell phone in their young hands. Dr. Barbara Becker Holstein, Positive Psychologist and author of 'Diary Of A Gutsy Tween', sees both sides of the story.
"Selfies," Dr. Holstein stated, "can be used to take away the 'being there' of a particular moment. For example if I run around taking selfies of myself at a wedding celebration, rather than chatting and mingling with the guests. A selfie can also be used in what seems to be a disregard of the sacred moment, for example, taking a selfie while standing next to a friend's casket. We have to remember these are personal choices made by individuals. The truth is selfies are still the best way we have in today's world to record in visual form our own lives and the interactions we have with others. If one uses a selfie a day to build a new form of a personal diary, or to take a picture with one's puppy or grandmother or the gorgeous flower that bloomed out last night, what better way to not only 'be there' in the moment, but also to get back to 'being there' any time we wish. I would say as a psychologist, helping people expand, understand and process their lives, the selfie is close to a miracle."
"As far as tweens and teens, the matter is a bit more complicated. If a tween takes too revealing selvies of herself and posts them on Facebook or sends them to the wrong person, she may be doing herself a disservice, while still too young to completely understand why it is so potentially dangerous. However, if she shares a selfie a day with her best friend she had to leave behind when the family moved, it may be the best thing for her mental health until she can establish new friends. Bottom line is parents have to monitor, teach and watch what their kids are doing with selfies. But hasn't that always been the case as we struggle to help our kids grow up?"
Dr. Holstein is fascinated with how selfies have impacted society, and the effects on teens and tweens. She recently released "The Truth, Diary Of A Gutsy Tween". The new book is a revised and expanded edition of her very successful book, 'The Truth: I'm a Girl, I'm Smart and I Know Everything'. The new book is published by Sky Pony Press.
A Facebook page, thetruthforgirls, highlights many of the topics woven into "The Truth". Articles, videos, remarks, conversations, visuals, on this page center around many of the issues that tweens face growing up. These include: self-esteem issues, quarreling in families, divorce, moving to a new home, a new school, best friends, a crush, bullies, a death in the family, money issues, not feeling pretty, feeling sad, feeling lonely, jealousy and more. Dr. Holstein's book for teens and tweens is a first in using fiction for embedding positive psychology concepts.
Her second book in The Truth Series is “Secrets: You Tell Me Yours and I’ll Tell You Mine…Maybe!” Now the girl is 13. She handles many adolescent issues, including a crush, moving, a death in the family, feeling fat and problems with girlfriends. 'Secrets' provides a book kids and parents and grandparents can share and use as a sounding board for needed communication between the generations.
Both “The Truth” and “Secrets” are great for parents, grandparents, older siblings and teachers to establish lines of communication with the tweens and teens in their lives. Both books are being re-released by Sky Pony Press.
Dr. Holstein believes that getting in touch with one's strengths, talents and potential at every age, as well as learning how to hold on to the wise, playful, happy, gutsy and energetic girl that still resides within each woman is essential for mental health.
To assist this process she has written many books, including: case study material as presented in ‘The Enchanted Self, A Positive Therapy’; inspirational stories as presented in ‘Recipes for Enchantment, The Secret Ingredient is YOU’ and romance, mystery books designed to bring fun, excitement, romance and positive psychological truths into women's lives. Latest books are: Parts 1 and 2 of ‘Next Year in Jerusalem’, available in paper and as e-books; Parts 1,2 and 3 of ‘Next Year in Jerusalem’ available in one book, incorporated into ‘Around Every Corner, Romance & Mystery...’.
Dr. Holstein is available for media interviews and can be reached using the information below or by email at drbarbara@enchantedself.com. All of her works are available at Amazon, Barnes and Noble and all other online retailers. More information is available at her website at http://www.enchantedself.com. Outlook For Historical Romance Novels - Neige Blanche, Author Of 'Twisted Oak', Releases Statement
While some people believe the historical romance novel genre is in decline, driven by modern readership trends, Blanche sides with the statistics and with those who instead see exciting times ahead for both readers and writers
A recent article on Huffington Post by Maya Rodale entitled "What Happened To The Historical Romance Novel?" brought up a number of very interesting points regarding the historical romance genre and how that genre is affected by current readership trends. Like any genre, historical romance undergoes change with time, driven by the needs of the marketplace. While some people believe the genre is in decline, statistics from Romance Writers of America show that historical romance accounts for 33% of sales in the romance genre. That is impressive.
"Historical fiction is my genre of choice because it tells the story, our story of how we got here. History is daring, brave, tragic, frightening, enlightening, but most of all, it’s romantic. If not for love in their hearts, historical characters would lack motivation and historical events would be devoid of depth and virtue. Without the heat of romance, our histories would be doomed. Yet untitled, the next book in the ‘Twisted Oak’ series delves into the tragic and romantic lives that created the cornerstone of Twisted Oak and the long Delacroix family history. With intrepid bravery, romance, and a lust for power, the Delacroix family history is born.”
Blanche's debut novel, 'Twisted Oak', set a new standard for erotic literature. While new books for women are released nearly every day, many simply rehash familiar and tired story lines. Only a few carve out a new standard for erotic literature. 'Twisted Oak' defines modern American family in all its diversity and strength that will endure for generations. A culture that embraces the alternative, but grasps the past, the characters and scenarios are both familiar and profane, but valuable in the struggle to find our greatest potential. 'Twisted Oak' is not for the faint of heart. It is an honest vignette of the savagery of the human condition and the power in all of us to live in spite of it.
Reviewers have stated, “Accurately portrays the culture of the south and the beauty of New Orleans” and “Prose was beautiful and compelling to read . . . examination of psychology behind the characters was excellent.”
“I guess I was one of the weird kids at school that actually enjoyed history class. I think it’s because I would sit in class and daydream. I could imagine the hardships people endured and overcame. I was always struck by the perseverance of the human spirit in the face of daunting circumstances in many cases. When I would imagine myself in an historical era, I was never the princess, or the marquise. I was the cinder girl, the pioneer woman, the refugee, the slave. To me, this is where we find the real human spirit of the age.”
Neige Blanche is available for media interviews and can be reached using the information below or by email at Nezzie@jkoszarek.com. 'Twisted Oak: A Sexual Odyssey' is available at Amazon, Goodreads and at Blanche's website. More information is available at her website at http://www.jkoszarek.com.
About Neige Blanche:
A graduate of Western International University, Neige Blanche moved to New Orleans in 1986 and has lived in the region ever since. She has been a community volunteer for over twenty-five years with various groups in support of local public, private, parochial, and charter schools. She lives part-time between northern New Mexico and the Mississippi Gulf Coast with her husband and two dogs.

Christian Book Author SaBrowny Rae Announces Book Launch Soiree For ‘Backdoor Tales: Lipstick - I, Judas’
Author SaBrowny Rae offers readers two completely unique stories, bundled as two books in one in her newest release, 'Backdoor Tales: Lipstick and I, Judas'. The book launch soiree will be held on October 25, 2014 in Landover MD
Author SaBrowny Rae has announced the release of the second installment in her 'Backdoor Tales' series. The new release is titled 'Backdoor Tales: Lipstick and I, Judas'. To celebrate the launch of the book, Rae will hold a soiree on October 25 in Landover, MD. The event will take place at Signature Blue Events, 337 Brightseat Rd. Suite 120 in Landover. Hours are from 3pm-6pm. The event will be open to the public.
During the event Rae will showcase her new book 'Backdoor Tales: Lipstick and I,Judas', and will also showcase her product line based on her two books. These include a line of 10 shades of red lipstick called Noir Red that represent her novel 'Lipstick' and a line of 3 scents of perfume called September Love that represent her novel 'September Love'. Both products are found in her new collection known as 'SaBrowny Rae's Vintage Inspired Beauty'.
"Writing the Backdoor Tales series has allowed me to dig into the deepest corners of my imagination," Rae stated. "From these four novels the characters seemed to jump off the page and right into the readers lives. I wanted a way that our readers could keep their memory with them as they enjoyed a part of the books. Lipstick's favorite shade of red lipstick and September Love's autumn blends of perfume will keep these two characters on the minds and in the hearts of our fans while enjoying two great products."
Rae's latest work presents a healthy dose of intrigue, mystery, religion, and murder. While Rae's books could be said to be Christian books as they present a number of Christian themes, it would be more appropriate to term them 'edgy' Christian.
In the storyline of the segment entitled 'Lipstick', an unwanted, unloved child is left orphaned by parents who never wanted her in the first place. She is taken in by strangers who want to sell her for illicit favors. Only she turns the tide on them and commits her first two murders. Once this is done, she becomes the person that she was created to be—Lipstick, a wealthy sociopathic murderer. She creates a new life for herself and discovers her true family.
In the storyline of the segment entitled 'I, Judas', the Christ killer is back, only this time he’s assigned to create a new race of nonhumans, ones that will destroy mankind for his master, Satan. He arrives to earth in the dead of the night and realizes that he’s no longer human but can only function as long as he has fresh blood as his source of life. A sadistic, bloodthirsty demonic killer remembers his sins against Christ and the love that he traded for thirty pieces of silver. He finds love again and cheats Satan and his assignment only to have a group of unlikely members form and attempt to send him back.
"'Lipstick' and 'I, Judas' both were books that seemed to have a life of their own," Rae concluded. "Even I was surprised with the endings."
