Donna Louis provides an in-depth study of some of Christianity's most well-documented miracles. She attempts to expand and explain both the purpose and the direction of those miracles
The dictionary defines a miracle as an extraordinary event in the physical world. While we might think miracles don't happen today, perhaps they do.
A recent story on Newshub entitled 'Miracles Happen: Missing Cat Returns After 8 Years' is amazing. While we might say that the return of the cat is a miracle, the truly miraculous part of the story shows us that the cat's owner, a young boy, practically willed her to return. He spent years learning to play the guitar and dedicated all the songs to his missing cat. His efforts even led to him landing a semi-finalist spot on 'New Zealand's Got Talent'. He performed a song entitled 'Everything To Me', dedicated to the missing cat. Finally, after 8 long years, the cat returned. The boy believes it was a miraculous event. And it very well may be.
The public is fascinated with miracles, as they demonstrate there is a reality that lies beyond what our eyes and ears show us. While we might believe that miracles are the result of a Power that lies elsewhere and occasionally intercedes in the affairs of the human race, it is even more possible that this Power works in physical reality through the minds and the hands of mankind. Even the miracles of Jesus were performed through a human body, living in physical reality.
Donna Louis' new book, 'Miracles of Direction, Miracles of Conquest, Miracles of Provision and Miracles of Purpose' explores biblical miracles that took place while Jesus was here on earth. She then references with miracles that take place on a daily basis in the modern world. She separates these miracles into four categories and presents insightful example of each type, taken directly from the Bible.
Louis knows her subject well, as she has personally experienced three miracles. As the result of those life-altering experiences, she began an in-depth study of some of Christianity's most well-documented miracles. In her book, she attempts to expand upon and explain both the purpose and the direction of those miracles.
Donna Louis stated, "In Proverbs 12:10 in the Contemporary English Version of the Bible it states 'Good people are kind to their animals, but a mean person is cruel.' This miracle of the young boy and his cat are the perfect example of what the Bible states. God gave us dominion over the animals but the greatest gift we can give them is love. One of the ways miracles are created is through unconditional love."
Louis was chosen as a winner in the 2015 '50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading' awards contest. 'Miracles' has also received rave reviews from readers. One review called it "amazing, uplifting and inspirational". Another stated, "I was profoundly impressed by the writing."
