Clayton Graham, author of ‘Milijun’, has been named as a finalist in the ‘50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading’ Book Awards Contest. His honor came as a result of his appearance on The Authors Show. Clayton Graham was chosen from a field of hundreds of authors through a public voting process. ‘Milijun’ is a science fiction novel about human/alien interaction. An interview with Graham is also now available at The Authors Show site.

"Writing ‘Milijun’ was a fascinating journey," Graham stated, "and The Authors Show interview put the icing on the cake. Reaching the final round of ‘50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading’ put another layer on the icing, if that is possible [I'm no chef]. ‘Milijun’ may deal with aliens, but marketing them is something else."

In the storyline, Laura Sinclair and son, Jason, witness aliens descend to Earth. The extraterrestrials endeavour to form a symbiotic relationship with humankind, and Jason is chosen as a genetic link in a bizarre trial involving the impregnation of human females with hybrid embryos and exploration of spiritual compatibility.

Laura crosses swords with Major General Sebastian Ord from the Australian Defence Force, Eucla and Uriel, the enigmatic head of Milijun, a reclusive research facility in the outback. Following a disastrous armed attempt to capture aliens at Cocklebiddy Cave and a fierce confrontation at Eucla, Jason is abducted by an alien swarm.

What follows tests the resolve of Laura to the core. Caught in a relentless web of frightening new technologies and alien mystery, spurred by the undying love of her son, she gains a strength of character she never thought possible.

All she has to do is save herself, Jason and several women and unborn children from the scheming plans of man and alien alike . . .

"I hope ‘Milijun’ gets people thinking about the future," Graham concluded, "and the great treasure we have called Earth. I also hope it makes readers treasure their personal relationships; they are the most important things in our lives."

‘Milijun’ has received a large number of rave reviews. A recent Amazon review stated, "How to describe this book, other than say it is by far one of the most surprisingly addicting novels I've read in a long time . . . " Indie Book Reviewers said, "This book seems to have something of everything ... seriously. Action, drama, mystery, science, humor, suspense, creative and standard sci-fi and fantasy elements ... but I thought Clayton Graham tied it all together nicely in just such compelling, emotionally and intellectually engaging way. This novel will have wide ranging appeal - it is intelligent and complex enough and written with enough substance and finesse to please fans of sci-fi , fantasy and suspense thrillers who appreciate classy, polished, literary writing," and, "This was a captivating novel and I was stunned to read that this was his debut novel ─ it reads like it is written by a seasoned pro who is the master of his craft. There is such strong, vivid writing, and the characters are all fascinating, flawed, and going through their own drama. Great character development, and everything just felt 'authentic' for lack of a better word.”
