'he & She' By Author Wayne Clark Named To 'Best Summer Reads' List By IndieReader

'he & She' is a powerful and penetrating look into male midlife crisis

Canadian author Wayne Clark has announced that 'he & She', a riveting work of fiction about male midlife crisis, has been added to the '16 Indie Summer Reads' list by IndieReader. 'he & She' is an in-depth, fictional exploration of the subject of male midlife crisis.

In 'he & She', Wayne Clark gives readers a powerful and penetrating look into midlife crisis. A searing vision of the future, foretelling only pain, regret and failure, compels one man to make a last-ditch attempt to feel truly alive one more time, even if it kills him. His journey takes him down paths riddled with obsession, fantasy, alcoholism and BDSM, all wrapped in a smothering cloak of loneliness and desperation. Yet an image he finds by accident on the Internet triggers a tiny glimmer of the hope that compels him to take just one more shot at life.

"I am pleased," Clark said. "An endorsement from IndieReader is always an honor."

The review on the IndieReader site stated that 'he & She' is "A remarkable investigation of a man attempting to save himself from stagnation."

A number of critics have praised the award-winning novel. BlueInk Review called it “… a stylish piece of literary fiction… intellectually engaging throughout. A finely drawn portrait of desire in its fall and winter seasons."

'he & She' also took a 5-Star Silver Medal in Readers' Favorite International Awards.

“My novel," Clark continued, "is literary fiction. It’s about a man getting to a point where most of his life is gone and what he sees around him is emptiness. Relationships are all but absent, as are goals, passions and libido. He asks if this is all there is to life, and panics. He ends up going on a journey he could never have imagined."

Clark added that the subject of male midlife crisis is timely not just because it’s being talked about more and more as our population ages but also because the term midlife crisis itself is turning 50. It was coined in 1965 by a Canadian psychoanalyst.

Wayne Clark is available for media interviews and can be reached using the information below or by email at mtl1642@videotron.ca. 'he & She' is available at Amazon in paperback and Kindle versions and in all other digital versions at all major online retailers. More information is available at his website at http://www.wayne-clark.com.

About Wayne Clark:

Award-winning author Wayne Clark was born in 1946 in Ottawa, Ont., but has called Montreal home since 1968. Woven through that time frame in no particular order have been interludes in Halifax, Toronto, Vancouver, Germany, Holland and Mexico.

By far the biggest slice in a pie chart of his career would be labelled journalism, including newspapers and magazines, as a reporter, editor and freelance writer. The other, smaller slices of the pie would also represent words in one form or another, in advertising as a copywriter and as a freelance translator. However, unquantifiable in a pie chart would be the slivers and shreds of time stolen over the years to write fiction.

The Boston Marathon Bombing And The Desire For Vengeance - Author David Ingerson Shows Us There Is An Alternative

Ingerson's inspirational book, 'The Caleb Years', illustrates how the devastating loss of a child can inspire hope

The desire for vengeance is a natural reaction to a senseless act of terrorism that results in the death of someone we love. The death sentence handed down to Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, in many ways, seems more appropriate than forcing him to spend the rest of his life locked in a tiny cell. Why? It brings closure. It is final. It closes a chapter. It gives the families of victims the opportunity to move on.

Moving ahead with one's life after a senseless tragedy is no easy task. Everybody handles it in their own unique way. When a loved one dies a senseless death, a void is created. For some, that gaping hole is filled with heartbreak and bitterness. The desire for vengeance is justifiable.

David Ingerson's moving and compelling book about the life and untimely death of his son Caleb shows us how heartbreak and bitterness can be transformed into hope and thankfulness.

To lose someone to a single act of terrorism is horrific—there is no warning. And to lose a child to chronic illness, as Ingerson's family did is agonizing—particularly when dreaded and anticipated over a span of time. But to lose a child as the result of reckless irresponsibility on the part of a blood donor is beyond words. When it happened to Ingerson, despite his raging anger, he did not seek vengeance. Instead, he took action and vowed to do something to help others prevent these types of tragedies.

'The Caleb Years' is a refreshing and inspirational account of the author’s journey through the treacherous waters of uncertainty and the deep emotional wounds parents of a chronically ill child must endure. The author’s vivid descriptions of each circumstance and deeply compelling emotion puts readers in the middle of his story. Even more importantly, this inspirational book will help readers understand their own life story.

Although we may not be able to determine the final outcome, we can decide how we are going to live each day – with hope and thankfulness or with bitterness. David Ingerson and his family, as intensely described in this inspirational story chose the way of hope--even when facing the menace of Congenital Heart Disease (CHD) and the dread of HIV. While it did not take away their pain, it did give them the strength to live with meaning.

'The Caleb Years' has received rave reviews from readers. Phillip Yancey, 'NYT' best-selling author of 'The Jesus I Never Knew' stated, “I have read the full account of Caleb’s life in The Caleb Years, and I’m glad I did. Especially, I appreciated that David didn’t offer saccharine answers. He showed the raw, up-and-down vulnerability that always accompanies such a trial.”

Eugene H. Peterson, best-selling author and Professor Emeritus of Spiritual Theology at Regent College said "Caleb was born with several undiagnosed congenital anomalies and endured ten major surgeries. His father writes the story, saturated with both pain and prayer, but remarkably without a trace of bitterness. His marvelous witness written with such skill, crafted in language honest and vivid, will not fail to deepen the faith and joy of all who trust God."

David Ingerson is available for interviews and speaking engagements and can be reached using the information below or by email at thecalebyears@aol.com. 'The Caleb Years' is available at Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Christianbook.com, Walmart and many other retail book outlets. More information, including samples from the book, testimonials, endorsements and author interviews are available at Ingerson's website.

About David Ingerson:

David P. Ingerson is an exciting communicator who has spoken to audiences around the world. During his twenty years as a U.S. Air Force officer and pilot he traveled extensively and lived abroad with his family. While living in Okinawa, Japan, he trained and led teams on short-term missions to the Philippines and Cambodia declaring the Good News with compelling, inspirational stories. As a corporate pilot he has traveled to nearly every country on five continents and takes with him great respect and appreciation for the myriad of cultures he encounters.

Having suffered his own share of trials and setbacks as an entrepreneur, he encourages both employees and customers to rise above life’s difficulties and griefs.

Given his track record of overcoming challenges, David has credibility when he exhorts others that the path to success is found and walked with intentionality and hard work rather than glamour and ease. He is genuine and passionate as he encourages his listeners to honestly admit their life’s challenges and disappointments. Through his personal inspirational story of triumph through tragedy, he spurs others to rise above life’s frustrations and overcome in spite of intimidating obstacles—even as dreadful as facing Congenital Heart Defects (CHD), HIV and grieving the death of a child.

David and his wife, Kathleen, are the parents of five children and make their home in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Canadian Indie Romantic Fiction Author Rusty Blackwood Announces Appearances At Niagara Literary Arts Festival

Blackwood will make a number of appearances during the month of June, 2015, in the Welland area

Canadian indie author Rusty Blackwood, author of the romantic fiction novels 'Passions In Paris' and the upcoming 'Willow's Walk', has announced her appearance schedule at the The Niagara Literary Arts Festival. The festival is an annual literary event held across the Niagara Region. Founded in 2011, it offers free or near-free literary events during the month of June.

NLAF has helped to bring the literature of Niagara to the forefront of literature in Canada. It brings some of Canada’s finest to the Niagara region to share their work. The goal of the Niagara Literary Arts Festival is to feature one event, in every municipality of the Niagara Region, each day throughout June. Rusty Blackwood's schedule of events includes:

Monday, June 1st. @ 6 pm @ Seaway Mall, Welland.

Wednesday, June 3rd @ 7 pm @ Fine Grind Café, St. Catharines.

Saturday, June 6th @ 7 pm @Fine Grind Café, St. Catharines.

Saturday, June 13th @ 7 pm @ Fine Grind Café, St. Catharines.

Saturday, June 27th @ 7 pm @ Fine Grind Café, St. Catharines.

"I greatly admire this eclectic and talent-filled festival for a number of reasons," Rusty Blackwood stated. "First and foremost it spotlights the exceptional talents from my area and the surrounding district, bringing together an array of interesting works to be showcased in a way that truly appeals to the public. Over an entire month, authors, poets, and musicians get a chance to read their work, perform their work, and bring entertainment to the many who line the stages, or fill the seats throughout the assorted venues that open their doors to welcome the festival within. This is my third year performing with this festival, and I am both honored and pleased to read chosen selections of my work. Each year I have had the pleasure to meet fellow writers, and enjoy their work as I hope they enjoy mine. It really is time well spent. Niagara is blessed with the talent it boasts, and I hope the public truly realizes the enormous gift they are fortunate to have, and enjoy."

Canadian Indie author Rusty Blackwood's romantic fiction novel, 'Passions in Paris: Revelations Of A Lost Diary' is a sweeping saga written in the tradition of Bram Stoker's 'Dracula' and 'What Dreams May Come'. It has been compared to Erich Segal's 'Love Story' and Nicholas Sparks' 'The Notebook'. The novel has also received extremely positive reviews from reviewers. The book makes a perfect holiday gift for those who enjoy romance novels written on a grand scale.

The upcoming 'Willow's Walk' is a gripping new tale, certain to hold readers captive from the very first page. Set in the beautiful city of Ottawa, Canada in 2003, this touching story centers on the life and times of a woman determined to prevail at all costs, regardless of what is set before her, the result of which is certain to leave the reader reeling in its wake.

Reviewers have compared 'Passions In Paris' to 'The Notebook' and 'Love Story'. Linkk Kula Kane said, "'Passions in Paris' I think stands its ground with these other powerful romantic stories like 'The Notebook' by Nicolas Sparks. A long kindled love, which finds its place from a romantic spark in the mind of one, to a mounting real life experience between two different worlds, brought together by an on going weave of circumstances, doubts, mystery, and intrigue, that sets ablaze forbidden emotions on a roller coaster ride of endless desire, and surmounting obstacles, that test the strength of their determination to prevail. Miss Blackwood has a rare talent to bring this and more into the minds and hearts of those who have had the privilege to be transported into her wonderful world of story telling."

Reader Fred Pifer stated the new romance book, "is a fascinating book of a love story that seemed to be written with me in mind. In the book 'Love Story' by Erich Segal, he told of a deep abiding love story that reminds me of Cullen and Joy’s in Ms. Blackwood’s book, but the twists of intrigue and mystery that she adds keeps the reader on edge throughout."

Readers can download the Kindle version of 'Passions In Paris' at Amazon sites worldwide, including Amazon.ca. 'Passions In Paris' is also available at Amazon in paperback, Barnes and Noble in paperback and Nook versions, at Create Space and in all electronic versions at Smashwords.

Rusty Blackwood is available for interview in the Toronto area and can be reached using the information below or by email at writerrusty@hotmail.ca. More information, including 'An Evening With Rusty Blackwood - Parts 1-3' is available at her website at http://www.rusty-blackwood.com.

Finding Happiness In The Age Of Social Media - Award Winning Author Grace Mattioli Offers Insight In Realistic Fiction Novel, 'Discovery Of An Eagle'

Grace Mattioli delivers insight through story.  She writes engaging and moving tales that combine the insight and inspiration of 'The Alchemist' with the humor and quirkiness of 'A Confederacy of Dunces'

Finding happiness is the big preoccupation of the world.  The great traditions tell us happiness is found through connecting with others. These days that search for connection is rooted in technology, primarily social media. But does social media create real connections? Does an email or a social media post create a bond with another person? Does social media help overcome our sense of isolation?

We have all seen the studies that seem to show just the opposite - that social media can cause us to feel even more disconnected. Some have gone so far as to explore the connection between social media and depression.

Author Grace Mattioli's realistic fiction novel, 'Discovery of an Eagle’ gives us a penetrating look inside one fictional character's journey to that elusive state of true happiness. And, like many of us in the real world, fictional character Cosmo Greco comes to the realization that the answers do not lie in technology based relationships.

"I wanted to write a story about what it takes to be truly happy," Mattioli stated. "Cosmo realizes that he has been living too much virtual life and not enough real life, and that his heavy reliance on technology has been a major contributor to his unhappiness. Technology, in particular social media, can cause people to feel isolated and keep them from experiencing life. As Cosmo observes in Hopi, ‘the children here didn’t need the latest high tech gadgets to be happy. They were happy just to play in the sun.'”

“Readers will be entertained while gaining insight on what makes for a happy existence,” Mattioli explained. “As one reviewer wrote, ‘I truly enjoyed this heartfelt story; it is so beautifully written, fully captures the reader and thoroughly entertains, while causing us to reflect on our own life.’”

In her realistic fiction books, Mattioli paints pictures with words. Her works are filled with vivid descriptions and her characters are extremely dimensional and unforgettable. While her books center around serious issues such as family relations, death and addiction, they are very humorous and fun; readers will be entertained as they gain valuable insights that they can take with them long after they have finished the last page.

Grace Mattioli is available for media interviews and can be reached using the information below, or by email at grace@gracemattioli.com. Mattioli's contemporary fiction books are available at Powell’s, Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Kobo and iTunes. More information on all her work is available at her website at http://www.gracemattioli.com.

About Grace Mattioli:

Grace Mattioli is the author of Olive Branches Don’t Grow On Trees (2012) and Discovery of an Eagle (2014). She has worked as a librarian for over 19 years and has been writing creatively since she was a child.

Author Thomas Rauber Releases 'Bald Eagles Soar Again: One Man's Quest To Prevent The Extinction Of The Bald Eagle In The US'

Rauber's book details one man's decades long quest to save the American Bald Eagle

In the 1980’s the United States of America almost lost part of its national emblem. 'Bald Eagles Soar Again' chronicles Thomas J. Rauber’s dedication and work to prevent the extinction of this magnificent and majestic bird of prey.

In collaboration with Dr. Dean Amadon, Curator of Ornithology at the Museum of Natural History in New York, Rauber was instrumental in starting the restoration of the bald eagles in the United States. He studied these birds for 37 years; spending many hours observing the last known nesting pair in all of New York State. As part of his work, Rauber also traveled to Alaska, Florida, North Carolina, British Columbia and Queen Charlotte Island in Canada.

In 1963 the bald eagle population was at it's lowest point - fewer than 500 pairs were scattered throughout the lower 48 states. Thomas Rauber was employed by the Rochester Telephone Corporation at that time. He chanced to hear about a pair of nesting eagles in the area. He discovered the nest of the last pair of bald eagles in New York State. Thus began a journey of restoration that lasted for over 30 years.

The restoration program was a shining success — far exceeding the hopes of many. Bald eagles now live in every state but Hawaii. By writing this book, Rauber hopes to encourage the continued protection and conservation of the bald eagle.

"The technical assistance and advice I received from Dr. Dean Amadon," Rauber stated, "along with Dr. Eugene Dustman, Dr. David B. Peakall, Dr. William L. Reichel, Dr. Walter Spofford, Ward B. Stone, John Waters, Michael Allen, Peter Nye, Dr. Robert Bedson, Betty Minemier, and Margaret Mistretta were greatly appreciated. A special gratitude to Dr. Dean Amadon for his encouragement and counsel. My thanks to all who in any way contributed to this book."

Rauber's book is filled with background information, daily diary entries, reference information and photographs of bald eagles, never before seen, in nearly every kind of environment and situation.

'Bald Eagles Soar Again' is available in softcover  and Kindle formats. Thomas Rauber is available for interviews and can be reached using the information below or by email at caskinas@optonline.net. More information is available at his website at http://www.savetheeagles.net.

About Thomas J. Rauber:

Thomas J. Rauber lives in a small town in New York. He served in General Patten’s Third Army in World War II. He is the father of 6 and worked for Rochester Telephone Company. His book is a reflection of his love and concern for the bald eagle because of the danger of extinction. Through his action, along with others, he has eliminated this tragic possibility.

The Entertainment Book No Other Person Could Write – 'Three Stages, My Journey - Special Selections Edition' Released By Author Ben Bryant

Bryant's wildly entertaining book is filled with celebrity stories, drawn from 'Three Stages'. The new edition is available as a free download for all types of reading devices

Hollywood stories and celebrity memoirs can be found everywhere today. But never has an entertainment book been written that offers an insider’s backstage – and on stage – view of the inner workings of the entertainment industry at nearly every level over a period of over three decades. Nobody could ever write such a book – save for one man – Ben Bryant.

Bryant shared the stage or screen (as well as personal occasions) with literally dozens of household name level stars such as Clint Eastwood, Christopher Walken, Charles Bronson, Claire Trevor, Roy Rogers, David Carradine, Jerry Orbach, Mary Martin, Raul Julia and scores of others. Ben’s "Journey" has been anything but ordinary or average.

Ben Bryant is a storyteller beyond compare. His stories capture the entertainment industry experience in ways no other work has ever captured it before. Every segment of the industry – theatre, television, Las Vegas, national tours, The Metropolitan Opera and the Broadway stage – occupies a place in his engaging tales. Bryant’s "backstage view" of the world of entertainment is panoramic. His up close and personal celebrity stories form the basis of  a work that readers will find revealing, amusing and highly entertaining.

Ben Bryant performed on Television, on Broadway, at Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center as well as on stages and in concert halls all over the USA and Canada. He was even briefly an opera singer at the Met.

“One of the things I’ve found surprising about readers’ reactions to 'Three Stages',” Bryant said, “is that this book is seen by nearly all of them to be a Hollywood memoir. I just wrote about my life and the shows I did and the people in them. At the time it never even occurred to me that this was a celebrity book.”

'Three Stages' has received rave reviews. Rick Skye, award winning writer and performer wrote on newsun.com, "There are several qualities of life that would seem to have all but disappeared in these United States of late, but I couldn’t quite put my finger on them until I spent a lovely couple of days living through the first few stages of Ben Bryant’s colorful life. What at first appears to be a straightforward ... autobiography is transformed by these qualities – charm, a poetic way with a turn of phrase and simple honesty – into a non-fiction novel about a way of life in an America that no longer exists. He brings it back to life like Brigadoon, with humor and sentiment, recalled through the beautiful mist of memory."

"... instead of the usual tales of Hollywood intrigue he spins yarns of touring in summer stock in the big, lush post WWII days when America spent it’s summers picnicking by day and attending outdoor musical performances in the evening. A red blooded man’s man, he intertwines intimate tales of getting to know the opposite sex and the ingenuity he uses to break into show business like a cowboy telling tall tales around a roaring fire.  .
As he grows in self-knowledge, he easily transforms from sports figure to musical and stage star to magazine publisher to film producer. It is this spiritual quality that makes his story so uplifting and the same quality that leads him to find his soul mate and ultimately take her as his wife. ..."

Mary Beth Magee, on the Yahoo Contributor Network stated, "Ben Bryant has worn many hats over the decades: student, athlete, musician, singer, actor and more. In “Three Stages”, he tells the early part of his story and invites readers to share his experiences. This is the first of a [3 volume] series on his kaleidoscopic life.

"Unlike many Hollywood memoirs, this book examines more of the fun side of the entertainment industry. Bryant doesn't sugarcoat the events, but he doesn't go looking for downside negatives, either. He doesn't spend his pages bashing others. "

"... Bryant brings an enthusiasm to his narrative that is often lacking from memoirs. ... As might be expected of a story set that covers thirty-seven years of an attractive young man's life, there are sexual encounters. Unlike many such books, Bryant handles the events with refreshing discretion. There are no embarrassing discussions, only an observation that such did occur. Very classy."

"Three Stages ... [is] an ongoing conversation about a life lived to the hilt and how Bryant has grown into new roles along the way. From Bristol, Tennessee to the glitter of Hollywood and the hustle of The Big Apple, Bryant shares the ride with his readers in a joyous recounting of the journey."

"… If you simply enjoy a good adventure yarn, you'll enjoy Bryant's story. You'll laugh, you'll shake your head in bemusement sometimes and you'll just have a good time reading Three Stages".

The Special Selections edition of  'Three Stages' offers some of the "best of the best" tales from the book. This edition is available as a free download ebook in mobi, epub and pdf versions, allowing for access from nearly any kind of ebook reader technology. The book can be downloaded from the books page at http://www.entertainmentbooksbyben.com.

Ben Bryant is available for media interviews and can be reached using the information below or by email at authorauthor@earthlink.net. All three books in Bryant's series, 'Three Stages, 'Circumstances Beyond My Control' and 'Waiting For Elizabeth' are available at Amazon in Kindle format, at Barnes & Noble for Nook and at Payhip in all eBook formats. Paperback versions are available at Lulu.com. More information is available at Bryant’s website at http://www.EntertainmentBooksByBen.com.

Children's Book Author A. J. Cosmo And 'Look It's My Book!' Team Up To Gift Books To Children In Need

Centered on Cosmo's latest middle-grade novel, 'Soaked', the fundraiser will provide one book for an under privileged child for each copy sold

A.J. Cosmo, the author/illustrator of the best-selling "The Monster That Ate My Socks” is pleased to announce a “Give a Book, Get a Book” fundraiser for his new middle-grade novel 'Soaked'. Soaked tells the story of Aiden who, after standing up to a bully on the last day of class, finds himself trapped far from home with a bounty on his head and a whole neighborhood after him.

For the month of May, each print version copy of Soaked sold will provide one book for an under privileged child courtesy of 'Look it’s My Book!' 'Look it’s My Book!' is a non-profit organization based in Peoria, Illinois, that visits economically disadvantaged children and offers them a selection of free books. The children individually choose their favorite and get to take them home.

“Children who read are more likely to do better in life and children who choose what to read are more likely to continue reading,” said A.J. The importance of reading is indisputable with even President Obama launching his own literacy campaign in late April. However, he can’t do it alone.

How exactly does reading benefit children in the Internet age? Peter Gray, Ph. D, said it best "Stories provide a simplified simulation world that helps us make sense of and learn to navigate our complex real world." In short, stories allow us to practice living life and the children most in need of this practice just happen to be the ones that 'Look it's My Book!' serve.

“With all of the alternatives and distractions in the world, books still quietly offer an unmatched level of satisfaction. I think the time has come to read again,” said A.J. “I hope that in some small way 'Soaked' can help 'Look it’s My Book!' achieve that goal.”

A. J. Cosmo is available for media interviews and can be reached using the information below or by email at aj@ajcosmo.com. All of Cosmo's works are available at Amazon. More information is available at his website at http://www.ajcosmo.com. He is available for questions and comments at aj@ajcosmo.com or on Twitter @ajcosmokids.

Selfies, Stageplays And Books - Dr Barbara Becker Holstein Announces Staged Performance Of 'The Locket' In Manhattan On May 20, 2015

Directed by Bob Angelini, the cast includes Ashley Griffin, Cassidy Terracciano, Shereen Hickman and Chris Kateff

What do selfies, stageplays and books have in common? They each freeze a moment in time and give us a glimpse into the lives of other human beings. Regardless of direction or motive, each of them, in their own way, can provide hope, growth, motivation or perhaps just entertainment. In her work as a Positive Psychologist, Dr. Barbara Becker Holstein employs all of them as teaching tools. She helps teens and tweens develop a positive self image through her books, produces professional videos on subjects (such as selfies) that are important to this age group and, if all that is not enough, has a play in production.

The play reading, titled 'The Locket', will be presented May 20, 2015 in Manhattan. The reading will be directed by Bob Angelini. Some of Bob's directing credits include: NYC: Murrow, (Dramatists Guild, Phoenix Theatre Ensemble), Fourth State of Matter (Theater/New City), The Diary of Anne Frank (Alexrod  PAC and Murrow (Theatre Project). Bob is a member of the Actor's Equity Association, The Stage Directors and Choreographers Society, SAG/AFTRA and the NY Shakespeare Society. He is currently the interim Artistic Director of ReVision Theatre in Asbury Park, N. J.

The cast includes:

* Ashley Griffin as the Woman - ( Most well known as the creator of the pop culture phenomenon "Forever Deadward," Ashley has performed on and off Broadway as well as in L.A., Chicago, and the UK. She is currently playing Rosalind in A.N.O.N Productions "As You Like It" in NYC, and will be performing in concert at 54 Below June 13th.

* Cassidy Terracciano as the Girl - (Cassidy has played Elle Woods in 'Legally Blonde', Sally Smith in 'Me and My Girl'. and Anne Frank in 'The Diary of Anne Frank').

*  Shereen Hickman as the Fairy Godmother - (Shereen is known for her work with Cirque du Soleil as the female clown in three of Cirques productions).

* Chris Kateff as the Husband and Narrator - (Chris recently played in 'Every Christmas Story Ever Told - And Then Some').

'The Locket' is the story of a woman, caught in a marital struggle and a loss of her sense of self. She is awakened by a unexpected connection to her girlhood self after finding her diary and her a special locket with a secret, all enhanced by meeting up with a Fairy Godmother. Magic, romance, wisdom, hope and the realization that it is always best to be true to your self become clear messages in 'The Locket'.

"From Shakespeare to 'The Locket', the best plays are very much like selfies," Dr Holstein stated. "A good Shakespearean play has within it the kernels of personality and dilemma that exist for almost everyone.  Likewise, 'The Locket' has within it so many of the dilemmas and issues that girls and then girls as women face.  Selfies are popular because we all like to record and share our lives.  We need to feel unique and special and yet at the same time share our human condition.  The selfie is the easiest way that has come along.  A good selfie restores our sense of self and well-being as we laugh, share and/or cry over the pictures we are sending and/or collecting.  Selfies are the stories of our lives: our travels, babies, college days, marriages, friendship, retirement, bereavement, renewal.  And so is a good play.  It uplifts us, brings us to tears, fills us with enthusiasm and hope, gives us courage to go on and reminds us again and again that we are unique and yet our we are at the same time, in some way, one with everyone else.  I hope 'The Locket' takes the audience to all of those places. And it is comforting to come home to the truth that kids really do have a lot of wisdom and understanding about the world.  In 'The Locket', the magical drama of the theatre brings us closer to the old magic of childhood that we all once understood and were part of, while drawing us into the real dramas that adults face and have to still resolve, one day at a time."

This is the third stage reading of The Truth, the first two took place in Asbury Park, New Jersey to rave reviews.  Comments included:

" Wonderful depiction of a young girl's journey through adolescence."

"This play helps adults understand how children feel.  For example, how much they are hurt by parents fighting."

"The Locket identifies with tweens and teens and the issues they face."

"A very entertaining journey a woman takes from perceived crisis to self-awareness to empowerment through re-living her past."

"An unusual yet needed attempt at describing the development of young girls to adulthood that is rarely considered."

"The Locket is a compelling snapshot of the story of an everyday woman's life."

"The Locket is a warm reminder to girls and women to honor the truths in their hearts."

"The play is a great reminder of who we are and why we think and behave the way we do."

'The Locket', will be presented May 20, 2015 at 6:30 PM, in Manhattan.  If you would like an invitation contact us at: 732-925-2269 or barbara.holstein@gmail.com.  Dr. Holstein is available for media interviews and can be reached using the information below or by email at drbarbara@enchantedself.com. Best Thrillers Book Club Names Sci-Fi Thriller Novelist Daniel P. Douglas To 2015 List Of Best New Mystery and Thriller Authors

Daniel P. Douglas and his debut science fiction conspiracy thriller were included on the distinguished list of new mystery and thriller genre authors on April 30, 2015

On April 30 2015, Best Thrillers Book Club announced its list of “Best New Mystery and Thriller Authors" of 2015. It included Daniel P. Douglas and his debut science fiction conspiracy thriller, ‘Truth Insurrected: The Saint Mary Project.’ In the suspenseful sci-fi novel, readers plunge into a storyline featuring former FBI agent William Harrison – a reluctant yet admirable hero – who finds himself hot on the trail of a major extraterrestrial cover-up.

Best Thrillers Book Club describes ‘Truth Insurrected’ as an engrossing, deftly-crafted UFO conspiracy thriller that is easily one of the most successful tales to emerge out of Roswell alien lore. The club helps fans of mysteries and thriller eBooks discover amazing writers and the eBooks they publish.

The club’s review says the science fiction book is, “Well-plotted and gorgeously written, [and] Douglas’s secret sauce is injecting noir-like atmosphere, characterization and pacing into what could be, in less capable hands, just another UFO conspiracy story. The best passages in ‘Truth Insurrected’ are seen through Harrison’s eyes, beginning with a bungled surveillance operation that at once renders him both highly observant and vulnerable. And just when you think Harrison has cracked most of the book’s big secrets, Douglas delivers another thrilling surprise.”

“Best Thrillers named some amazing authors and novels in the mystery and thriller genre, so it’s an honor to be on such a distinguished list,” Daniel P. Douglas said. “The recognition conveys an indicator of quality that brings tremendous personal and professional satisfaction. It sets the bar pretty high, and I’ll work hard to achieve that level of quality in my upcoming science fiction books and conspiracy thriller novels.”

Douglas’s debut science fiction novel has received critical acclaim from readers and reviewers alike. In addition, Foreword Reviews recently recognized ‘Truth Insurrected’ as a science fiction finalist in its 17th annual INDIEFAB Book of the Year Awards.

About Daniel P. Douglas:

Daniel P. Douglas is a U.S. Army veteran who has also served as a senior analyst in the U.S. intelligence community. A long-term civil servant, with degrees in Political Science and Russian Area Studies, Douglas has also worked in the museum profession. His travels have taken him throughout the United States, Mexico, Europe, the Middle East, and the Caribbean.

As an author, Douglas creates epic tales – of the past, present, and future – with the most unlikely of heroes, and calls upon them to join extraordinary and mysterious struggles. His characters' sometimes-reluctant choices and actions put them on a collision course with destiny and reveal unimaginable truths. Douglas is a multigenre author who turns ordinary people into extraordinary heroes.

The Difference Between Psychics And Mediums: Pat Chalfant, Author of 'Spirit Lights A Path To Mediumship', Offers Guidance

Many people are confused by the terms 'psychic' and 'medium'. Pat Chalfant, a credentialed Spiritualist medium, offers guidance and advice

For most of us, the words 'psychic' and 'medium' seem to be interchangeable. That, however, is not the case. There are many differences and they are important.  Pat Chalfant, author of 'Spirit Lights, A Path To Mediumship', offers some broad and general rules to help others understand the difference.

"All the mediums I have known through the years," Chalfant stated, "have worked as mediums in Spiritualist churches. The following list compares the ways that all the mediums I’ve known have done their work and the ways that psychics (crystal ball readers, tarot and angel card readers, rune readers, etc.) typically work for the public:"

•    Mediums must take classes then pass tests before becoming legally credentialed mediums; psychics sometimes take “psychic” classes, but aren’t required to.
•    Mediums give their readings typically in a spiritual atmosphere, usually a Spiritualist church; psychics usually give their readings in non-spiritual spaces.
•    Mediums give readings to prove the continuity of life (life after death); psychics typically just attempt to foretell their clients’ earthly futures.
•    Mediums pass a plate for donations when giving weekly messages within a Spiritualist church service; psychics rent space then sell their readings at set fees.

"As with everything else on earth," Chalfant concluded, "there are always exceptions to the rules, but broadly speaking, these things are characteristic of the behavior of mediums versus psychics."

Meditation is extremely important in mediumship development. Pat reveals that she has had several different guides for reading work through the years and she feels that because she initially established her connection with her first guide in the proper way, through meditation in a development class, her communication with each successive guide has always been clear and very effective.

'Spirit Lights A Path To Mediumship', explains how Pat, a real skeptic regarding such matters, developed mediumship abilities and now lives a life transformed by the spiritual. Mediumship is a controversial issue and Pat understands this, but she also believes that credible mediumship holds the promise of real benefits for mankind that have not been fully explored.

In addition to offering one-on-one client consultations, Pat has penned the 'Spirit Lights Song Book' and three of those songs are in the National Spiritualist Association of Churches hymn book. There are samples of the words and music on her web site, www.patchalfant.com, and ‘Spirit Lights’ song books for sale there, too. She does readings for clients by phone and teaches mediumship development classes. She has also created a DVD entitled 'Spirit Lights Psychic Development DVD'.

Pat Chalfant is currently appearing on The Authors Show. Her interview is available now at The Authors Show site. 'Spirit Lights A Path To Mediumship' is available at her website and at Amazon. Pat is available for media interviews and can be reached using the information below or by email at pat.chalfant@patchalfant.com. Pat maintains a Youtube channel at http://www.youtube.com/channel/UC9qOQWIWR-DUL8hBDqE5TnQ.  She is also available for inspirational lectures. More information is available at her website at http://www.patchalfant.com.

About Pat Chalfant:

Oregon Spiritualist Medium Pat Chalfant's amazing psychic gifts have helped hundreds of individuals worldwide. Pat has written a column on parapsychology and interviewed Hollywood stars and the psychics who read for them for a national newspaper. Other topics she’s taught and written about are: past life therapy, death and dying, the Edgar Cayce work, the Cathars, and Spiritual healing.

The Association for Past Life Research and Therapies newsletter published a series of her interviews with psychiatrists, psychologists, and hypnotherapists who were all west coast pioneers of past life therapy. Pat believes that series is destined to become a book.

She teaches internationally online and also hosts an online Spiritualist circle, Spirit Lights Chapel.

Heaven Can Be Now - Christian Author David Broderick Releases 'The Christ Centered Life: Deep Calls To Deep'

The new Christian book shows how to be Christ-centered and to live life from the Christ-centered view. It covers daily life with its hazards, the law, marriage, prayer, leadership, the gospels and more

Many sincere Christians are frustrated.  Happiness and Heaven seem too far away in time and out of reach. Heaven is not a place and it is not in the future. Heaven is the presence of Christ -- a presence that can be experienced right here, right now. David Broderick starts from the point where others finish and leads readers to the same goal, following a path that is deeper and more real. He makes the path to Christ-centeredness available to everyone, right here, right now. In Broderick's opinion, Christ is for now, not just for heaven.

There are thousands of Christian books on the market - Christian books for men, for women, Christian books covering everything from prayer to marriage, forgiveness, Christian leadership - the list is endless. However, unlike many other Christian books, 'The Christ Centered Life: Deep Calls To Deep' shows how to be Christ-centered and to live life from the Christ-centered view.

From a very different perspective, 'The Christ Centered Life' also covers daily life with its hazards, the law (Pentateuch), marriage, prayer, leadership, the gospels and more. This book however presents a radically different way of seeing the fall and how that addresses leadership issues with relation to women. It takes a different view of the law of God and shows how the law was fulfilled by Christ. The book is deep but practical in pointing the way to Christ-centered living. It contains no theological language and is for everyone who wants to know Christ in a deep way.

"I wrote this book," Broderick stated, "to address the need that many Christians feel for something deeper than they currently experience in their Christianity. I so often heard people crying out for more and wanting depth. Having taught Christ-centeredness for many years in churches, I felt it was time to bring that depth to a much wider community."

'The Christ Centered Life' is, above all, a Christian book that offer readers a practical approach to living a Christ centered life on a minute to minute basis. It shows the reader how to create a state of Christ consciousness right now, today. While many Christians believe Heaven is a future place, Broderick shows us that Heaven is right here, right now. Heaven is not a future goal. It requires not discovery, but rather acceptance. The book will challenge, encourage, stimulate, feed and strengthen the Christian who wants to continually draw nearer to Jesus the Christ and to get to know him in intimacy. It is deep as its subtitle suggests, but it is accessible to everyone who desires to know Christ more.

David Broderick is available for media interviews and can be reached using the information below or by email at davidbroderick7@talktalk.net. 'The Christ Centered Life' is available at Amazon and Barnes and Noble. More information is available at his website at http://www.thechrist-centeredlife.com.

About David Broderick:

David is a mature Baptist pastor living in Scotland and is currently based in City Gates Baptist Church in Edinburgh where he is involved in teaching, discipleship, small group leadership and pastoral care. David has been a Christian for many decades and entered pastoral ministry in 1999 at the age of fifty-one.

Author David Ingerson's Inspirational Book, 'The Caleb Years', Shows Us How The Devastating Loss Of A Child Can Inspire Hope

Ingerson's moving and compelling book about the life and untimely death of his son Caleb shows us how heartbreak and bitterness can be transformed into hope and thankfulness

If we will admit it (and most of us won't), we are collectively fascinated by tragedy. From the catastrophic earthquake in Nepal, to rioting in Baltimore, and school shootings in various places in the United States, from terrorist attacks all over the world to genocide in faraway countries, we watch with rapt attention while these horrific events unfold. If there is a God in charge of the universe, what could He possibly be thinking? And again, (if we will simply admit it), somewhere deep inside we secretly celebrate the fact that is it happening over there, out there - anywhere but here. We like to believe it could never happen to us.

However it doesn't always happen to somebody out there or over there. Sometimes it happens right here.

The death of a child is not only the most horrific type of tragedy but also a parent’s worst nightmare. We realize we have lost something we never imagined we could lose. To lose a child to chronic illness is bad enough, but to lose a child as the result of senseless irresponsibility is beyond words. If God does have a plan for each of us, then perhaps that plan seems to make no sense at all. When faced with such a mind-numbing event, what do we do? Overwhelmed with grief, many simply give up. Some never recover. Only a few take action and vow to do something to help others prevent these types of tragedies. David Ingerson is one of the latter. A stalwart supporter of safe blood donation, he encourages everyone who is qualified and risk-free to become a regular blood donor. He supports his local blood center, LifeShare Blood Centers in Shreveport, Louisiana. More information on the organization is available at their website.

David Ingerson and his family, as intensely described in this inspirational story chose the way of hope--even when facing Congenital Heart Disease (CHD) and the dread of HIV. While it did not take away their pain, it did give them the strength to live with meaning even when God didn’t seem to make sense.

"I wrote this book," Ingerson stated, "to encourage others that although there will be times in our lives when we face trials seemingly beyond our ability to endure, we can live through these dark valleys of loneliness and agony if we will be patient and honest with our difficult emotions. Although the years of our son's short life were characterized by intense medical drama, agonizing turmoil and uncertainty wherein we daily faced the unnerving possibility or our son's early death, the years immediately following his untimely death were filled with numbing sorrow, grief and pain. Somehow, we chose to live and eventually rose above the anguish of those years that came to be known as the 'Caleb years'. As I reflected back upon the dismal despair I'd lived through during those years, I began to realize that I had a story to tell that could be helpful for someone else.Hence, came 'The Caleb Years'."

More information, including samples from the book, testimonials, endorsements and author interviews are available at Ingerson's website at http://www.TheCalebYears.com.

About David Ingerson:

David P. Ingerson is an exciting communicator who has spoken to audiences around the world. During his twenty years as a U.S. Air Force officer and pilot he traveled extensively and lived abroad with his family. From the time he was ordained as a teacher and evangelist while serving in Okinawa, Japan, he has trained and led teams on short-term missions to the Philippines and Cambodia declaring the Good News with compelling, inspirational stories.
