Top Motivational Speaker Rocky Romanella Describes How To Ensure A New Manager Makes A Successful Transition Into Leadership

Renowned as a keynote speaker, trainer, and Forbes Contributor, Romanella founded 3SIXTY Management Services, LLC. With 40+ years in leadership, he served as CEO and Director at UniTek Global Services after a 36-year UPS career.

When promoting an employee into a management position, what are your responsibilities as the leader to make sure the new manager makes a successful transition into leadership?

The answer to that question would depend greatly on the specifics of a particular situation. However, there are some vitally important guidelines that simply must be followed in EVERY situation if the transition to a leadership position is to be successful.

Rocky Romanella, one of the top motivational speakers in the US and author of a bestselling book on leadership, 'Tighten The Lug Nuts,' recently addressed this topic in a newsletter article titled, 'Put Me In, Coach - Your Support Of A New Promotion.' In that article, he said in part.

As a leader who has made the promotion recommendation, you have two clear responsibilities to the person who has been promoted. The first is to clearly define the expectations you have for them and their role and responsibilities. They are now role models in this new responsibility, and everything they do "speaks". This new reality must be reflected in their attitude, approach, and, most importantly, in their behavior. They can never lose sight that your expectations and theirs must be in sync.

Below are some examples of expectations. Your list will be your list, and your expectations must be clearly communicated and outlined to them by you.

They are brand ambassadors for their personal brand and the organization's brand.

They get their results through others.

They confer with their partners and teammates in other departments such as legal, finance, HR, and those they work with on a regular basis.

They will need to become familiar with company policies, procedures, protocols, and regulations which will protect their people, the company, and their reputation.

You aspire for them to become a learning machine, and they lead by example in their desire to be The Best, The Brightest, Most Informed, and the Best-educated person they can be.

Secondly, as the leader, you will have to believe in them until they have the confidence, knowledge, and success to believe in themselves. You bridge this knowledge and confidence gap through your help, support, and belief in them. Your belief in them, until they are ready to believe in themselves, is often the difference-maker in the success of a new promotion.

Finally, as in all we do as the leader, “we set the tone from the top!” To set that leadership standard, you should consider setting and articulating your Leadership Expectations to the organization. These clearly defined expectations, combined with your values and workplace policies, all provide guidelines for you to model "What Exceptional Leadership Looks Like.”

A few days into our schedule, though, and I began to realize what an amazing adventure it was to be having such a marvelous experience in the midst of a worldwide pandemic.

“Then I started noticing fellow tourists doing things that could be given a sinister interpretation, and secluded spots that seemed like an excellent place to hide a dark secret… The whole project just grew from there.

Assisted Living: What You Need To Know Before You Make A Decision - A Humorous Look At Forgetting Offered By Frances Fuller, Bestselling Author Of Helping Yourself Grow Old

Best-selling author Frances Fuller offers an insider's view of assisted living and a unique outlook on aging, based on her own experience. Her insights are penetrating and deal with issues that many seniors and their families are concerned about.

According to recent research, humor can be a memory booster. That's good news for all of us, as none of us can escape aging. According to an article detailing a study on the effects of humor on short-term memory published on PubMed, "findings suggest that humor can have clinical benefits and rehabilitative implications and can be implemented in programs that support whole-person wellness for older adults". Another study on the same site concluded, "Because older adults can experience age-related memory deficits, complementary, enjoyable, and beneficial humor therapies should be implemented for them".

Frances Fuller, award-winning author of the bestselling book on aging, "Helping Yourself Grow Old," recently posted an article titled, "Are You Forgetting Things?" in which she took a somewhat humorous look at forgetting. In that article, she said in part:

Forgetting?

Here in the retirement home, who isn't forgetting?

A few weeks ago, I forgot to go to my book club. I love book club. The prevalence of active book clubs was one of the reasons I wanted to live here. I can't believe I forgot book club. I think I just forgot that it was Thursday already.

This afternoon, while looking for something else (having forgotten where I put it), I found some notes I made attributing them to someone named Bill Murphy. I don't mean to plagiarize your ideas, Bill, but I assume you meant for them to be passed on.

Bill said, according to my notes, that maybe we need better lighting. He thinks, it seems, that we remember better things we saw in the light. Or, more basically, maybe that light just livens up our brains. I believe I do feel a little more dull in the dark.

Bill said also that we should play a lot of games, such as crossword puzzles. I assume he would approve of my learning in the past year to work Sudoku puzzles. I once thought, just because it was numbers, that I couldn't, but I have moved past easy and medium, and I am into hard puzzles, where I stumble and use my eraser rather frequently, but I know there are still harder ones coming.

Then he says some mysterious things, this anonymous friend, Bill. He says to try intermittent fasting. My previous efforts in that discipline have been outstanding failures. I do have an excuse, though. Last week I had a low blood sugar crisis just at the end of my supper and had to be rescued by a waitress who came running with the cheesecake. I am not sure what Bill expects fasting to do for my memory, and I can only promise to remember to eat on time and more carefully.

Then he suggests that we try walking backward . . .

The full text of the piece is available at https://www.inborrowedhouseslebanon.com/are-you-forgetting-things/.

Frances Fuller's book is unique among the many books on aging, because it is personal, while most such books are written from an academic point of view. Most are penned by sociologists, doctors, gerontologists, even the CEO of AARP, and one by a Catholic nun, Joan Chittister. Chittister's book, 'The Gift of Years' is beautifully written, focusing on spiritual values and finding meaning in life. Chittister admits in the preface that she was only 70, which is the front edge of aging, and her book is somewhat abstract.

Atul Gawande’s book, 'On Being Mortal', relates medicine and old age, It enjoys high Amazon rankings, in the category of “the sociology of aging.” It contains a great deal of valuable scientific information and shows understanding of the physical and emotional needs of the elderly.

Frances Fuller’s book, 'Helping Yourself Grow Old, Things I Said To Myself When I Was Almost Ninety', is an up-close and very personal encounter with aging. It is an uncontrived and firsthand look at her own daily experiences: wrestling with physical limitations, grief, loneliness, fears, and the decisions she has made about how to cope with these and keep becoming a better person. She faces regrets and the need to forgive herself and others and is determined to live in a way that blesses her children and grandchildren.

Frances deals with many common, universal but sometimes private issues in an open, conversational tone. Her confessions and decisions invite self-searching and discussion. She tries to make sense of her own past and to understand her responsibility to younger generations. In the process she shares her daily life, enriched with memories from her fascinating experiences. Her stories and her voice — fresh, honest, irresistible — keep the reader eager for more. The end result is a book that helps create a detailed map through the challenging terrain of old age.

The result of this intimate narrative is that readers laugh, cry and identify with her mistakes and problems. Reviewers have called the book, “unique,” “honest,” “witty,” “poignant,” “challenging” and “life-changing.”

For these reasons it is a book unlike any other book on aging you will ever read. The book can serve as a primer on what lies in store for all of us, from someone who is working through many of these issues. While the book is a perfect fit for book clubs, there are many other individuals and groups who could benefit from the information and ideas in the book:

Those approaching retirement
People who are currently retired
Children of aging parents
Those who have lost a spouse
Retirement community discussion groups
Counselors
Educators
Life coaches
Church groups (men and women)

and a host of others. For group discussions, Fuller has made a set of discussion questions available at her website at http://www.FrancesFullerAuthor.com.

Readers have lavished praise on the new book. One Amazon review stated, "I find myself thinking,'I need to read this again and take notes!' It’s full of wisdom, humor, and grace. I also have committed to rereading it annually - it’s that important!" Another said, "There is valuable life experience in this book. Helping Yourself Grow Old is truly is a book for all ages, and one not to be missed." Another stated, "Beautifully written book telling timeless truths, for both the old and the young. Highly recommend this book for anyone who loves to laugh, cry, and learn wisdom from someone who has lived so much life."

Frances' prior work, 'In Borrowed Houses', has taken three industry awards and has achieved Bestseller status. Frances Fuller was the Grand Prize winner in the 2015 '50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading' Book Awards. It received the bronze medal for memoir in the Illumination Book Awards in 2014. Every Child In The World Deserves Kindness Says Jody Sharpe, Bestselling Author Of The Mystic Bay Series That Features Angels Living As Humans

As a former teacher of special needs children, Sharpe has direct experience regarding the effect bullying has on children. Her award-winning, bestselling books help readers find hope, inspiration and gratitude. Her latest book took first place nationally in the National Federation of Press Women’s award contest.

Nothing is more important than the physical, mental and behavioral health of our children. We know this, but young people today face a host of challenges that adults cannot even understand. Wars, school shootings, lockdowns, social media bullying, climate change and more. Depression and anxiety levels are at an all-time high. The mental landscape of our youth is navigating uncharted territories, demanding our attention. So what can we do to help?

Bestselling, award-winning author Jody Sharpe talked about this is a recent article posted on her site. In that piece, she said in part:

When I grew up, I knew angels were near. It just was a belief I held strongly and now that I am older, I still hold fast to this belief. I pray each day that 2024 may be the time the world takes notice of the effect war, bullying and suffering has on all the world’s children.

We are supposed to be children’s role models, their safe havens, their soft place to learn and grow.In my last blog I wrote, “Every child in the world deserves a wonderful life.” I sure wish I could shout out these words for all the world to hear. But my shouting is found in my writing only and as I write, I hope my readers make sure they teach the children in their lives kindness, nourishing them with the emotional fulfillment and love they need to grow into loving adults.

The full text of the article is available at http://jodysharpe.com/tuesdays-with-the-angels-every-child-in-the-world-deserves-kindness/.

Sharpe's message resonates with readers, offering a beacon of hope. She passionately champions the transformative influence of uplifting literature, which can provide a ray of optimism in the face of depression and anxiety. Her anti-bullying message illuminates a path towards healing and resilience. Readers will discover in her books a profound shift in perspective that will carry over into their daily lives. They serve as an invitation to view the world through a different lens, one that empowers us to find the strength within to see the good in all people.

Her most recent work, 20 Moon Road, An Angel's Tale, features a character from her Mystic Bay series, Madam Norma. Madam Norma is based on a woman who influenced Sharpe's life in a number of unforgettable ways. The book trailer is available at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TaqJxbFTE1U

Diane Donovan at Midwest Book Review stated, "Do angels come to children with special needs? In Mystic Bay, they do. As the truth emerges about the town's makeup, history, and mission, readers become immersed in a spiritual story of angels and beliefs that drive positive changes and kindness in the world and spread beyond the small town of angels.

"Sharpe's Mystic Bay series embodies hope, belief, the power of conviction and angel influences, and the acts of kindness that lead humanity on a better, gentler path. 20 Moon Road's revelations of relationships with Madame Norma that changed lives and transformed beliefs through documented angel sightings by special needs children makes for a warm tale of revelation and discovery that explores guardian angels, lasting legacies, and blessings.

"Libraries and readers looking for blends of fantasy and spiritual examination will welcome the Mystic Bay series as a whole and this latest addition in particular, which expands the nature, purposes, and insights of Mystic Bay upon the larger world outside its borders."

Mark Walker of Midwest Book Review said, "The last paragraph reflects the unique vision and mysticism, which exudes throughout this book:

As we fly away from the beach on a mission to help someone in need, I know what God and all angels know and what Madam Norma always shared. Only love can mend our hearts and our Earth. Only love can set us free. Madam Norma's life was simply made of pure love, for as she told me once, 'Kindness is the first ingredient of love.'

"I look forward to someday seeing the Mystic Bay Series on the Hallmark TV channel!"

Books by Jody Sharpe include:

To Catch an Angel - Jody is also the author of 'To Catch an Angel', written in memory of her late husband Steve. In 'To Catch an Angel', miracles happen in Mystic Bay, California, the town with the psychic and angel vibe. Angels are calling. Psychic Maggie Malone returns home to find she's swept up in the miracle of it all. She can't imagine why her mother left or who her father might be. But these questions pale in comparison to the wonder of the angels. Maggie meets writer, Noah Greenstreet. They realize they've met before, but where? Maggie and Noah embark on a journey to find our world is all awash with angels.

The Angel's Daughter - A secret lies in Mystic Bay, California, and only two people know it. First, there’s Hannah, a tender curly-headed half-angel. Then there’s her father, Gabe, an effervescent, teddy bear of a full-blooded angel. And it’s up to Hannah to keep the secret safe, but she’s made a colossal mistake telling her ex-boyfriend and writing professor, Sam Blakely. Now he's written a book exposing the secret to the world.

Town Of Angels - Angel vs. Bully in the town of Mystic Bay, California, where a well-kept secret lies. Angels live as humans there. After angels appeared to three children, all was blissful in the town full of psychics, and ordinary folk. But as brute, Klaus Waxman, comes to town, angel Ken Leighton, a storeowner, must carefully guide his flock of humans not to give in to the bully's efforts. As Klaus opens a store mocking the resident angel sightings, angel Ken guides psychic Justine Greer, and her family to thwart his efforts. And with the help of the indomitable oldest psychic in town, Madam Norma, the bully meets his match through the soft voices and intuitive minds of his neighbors.

Special Needs Children, The Angels On My Shoulder is a memoir based on her twenty-five years teaching children with special needs. The book placed second in the National Federation Of Press Women's At-Large Communication contest. The book is as entertaining as it is illuminating. It's a love story about the special students and others who over the years graced her life with just that, their grace.

With hearts of angels and challenges to face, the children took Sharpe along their journeys and inspired her own life's journey of self-discovery. When sorrow came, their kindness helped her through. The synchronicity of events from high school to retirement changed her life for the better, turning her face toward heaven.

Midwest Book Review stated, "Sharpe's ability to see the good in circumstances and people identifies the 'special' in 'special needs' as she delineates her journey through the education system and those teaching and social encounters which changed her perspective and life."

"Teachers (especially those working with special needs kids) will find this spiritual and social reflection easily accessible. It's presented in vignettes which offer small, digestible bites of insight into a world where angels and kindness are present in more than one form."

Special Needs Children followed her recently released children's book about angels, When The Angel Sent Butterflies. The new book helps children understand that love from their parents and others surrounds them. Love conquers fear, and believing that angels are near can help sweep any childhood fear away. This concept is presented in the book when Angel Ken sends Jones and Kate butterflies. The book, appropriate for ages 2 to 7, is now available at Amazon and Ingram.

Her latest book, Summer Of Angels, is a mystery novel. Meteorologist and psychic, Gayle Force proves a force to be reckoned with as she moves back to her beloved Mystic Bay, California. While sleeping, an angel sent her a vision in a dream of a future event. Gayle realizes she must use her intuition to save an old man from drowning. But who is this old man?

With the help of intuitive attorney, Alex Knight, she finds they are caught in the middle of a future crime. But can Gayle and Alex solve the case and save the old man before it’s too late? With surprising twists and turns of intrigue and love, Gayle and Alex find there are angels at the helm as they help prove the bully never wins.

In addition, on the "Tuesdays With The Angels" section of her site, Sharpe presents stories of real-life encounters with angels. The stories are available at Sharpe's website at http://www.jodysharpe.com.

Sharpe hopes to create a collection of angel stories that involve sightings of angels, interaction with angels, miraculous angel encounters, and other types of accounts or stories. Everyone is welcome to submit angel stories. All submissions will be considered, but inclusion is not guaranteed. Stories may be submitted at http://bit.ly/2FV8amd.

Sharpe's YouTube channel brings all of this together, offering segments on all of these topics. One topic of special interest is bullying, specifically as it relates to special needs children.

In addition to the National Federation of Press Women’s award, Jody was chosen as a winner in the annual "50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading" Book Awards. She was chosen from a field of hundreds of authors through a public voting process.

Jody also announced recently that two new screen treatments of her books are now available: The Angel's Daughter and Town Of Angels Christmas.

Jody Sharpe is available for media interviews and can be reached using the information below or by email at sharpejody76@gmail.com. Angel stories can be submitted at http://bit.ly/2FV8amd. Create Your Own Blueprint For Healing Your Trauma - Unique Approaches And Individual Differences In Healing Trauma By Dr. Kixx Goldman, Author Of Speak From Your Heart And Be Heard

'Speak From Your Heart And Be Heard' contains fictionalized inspiring stories, based on real life and professional experience.

Traumatic events, unlike what many of us are led to believe, can take many forms, extending beyond those that are violent or life-threatening. Trauma can be experienced as a result of social interactions, cultural influences, events in childhood and a host of other origins. Every form of trauma is unique to the individual. Dr. Kixx Goldman, author of “Speak From Your Heart And Be Heard,” addressed this issue in a article posted on her website. In that article she said, in part:

“We study Trauma to explore and understand how it affects our biology, perceptions of our world and our psychological and emotional functioning in that world.

Trauma encompasses distressing or disturbing experiences which can leave us frightened and anxious. These experiences are part of life!

They test our resilience.

When I wrote my book Speak from your Heart and Be Heard: Stories of Courage and Healing, I didn’t set out to write about trauma and healing. But when I finished and looked back at my stories, I discovered I’d written about my own life experiences as well as fictionalized traumatic events in the lives of my clients.

Readers agree. Their feedback and reviews affirm that the stories are about healing trauma!

These days, people use the words ‘trauma’ and ‘traumatic’ a lot—in relation to all kinds of experiences. Let’s look at a relevant definition?

Let’s define what we mean by a traumatic event: “I believe Trauma comes in many forms, not always of a violent or life-threatening nature.

Failing an exam, being criticized by a parent or partner, even forgetting our lines in a play—can be traumatic for us. I call these ‘Everyday Traumas.’

Something like 9-11 or the Vietnam War would be considered a ‘Horrendous Trauma.’

Trauma expert Dr. Bessel Van Der Kolk talks a lot about the suffering and traumatic effects of both 9-11 and Vietnam. He’s worked with many people affected by those events and describes trauma as "something horrendous, that makes you stare with horror--” you can’t possibly imagine what you would do and you think your life is over…”

The doctor tells a story about a five-year-old boy—wise and compassionate beyond his years. The boy lived near the towers in New York and witnessed the 9-11 fires and people screaming and jumping out of windows. The heartwarming part of the story is that the boy drew a large, round object underneath the people jumping. When asked what it was, he said, “it’s a trampoline to catch them, so they won’t die.”

In his groundbreaking book, Dr. Van der Kolk notes that Trauma is an experience or event that produces actual physiological changes, including a recalibration of the brain’s alarm system, an increase in stress hormone activity and an alteration in the system that filters relevant from irrelevant information.

Trauma can indeed create various changes in the brain. People respond to and process trauma in very different ways.”

INDIVIDUAL DIFFERENCES

Have you ever wondered:

Why some people are able to overcome their grief over traumatic events and cope successfully to become happy and fulfilled while others remain hopeless and stuck?

The full text of the article is available at https://www.drkixxgoldman.com/uncategorized/unique-approaches-and-individual-differences-in-healing-trauma/.

'Speak From Your Heart And Be Heard: Stories Of Courage And Healing' has received rave reviews from readers and reviewers. Leslie S. Greenberg, PhD, distinguished Research Professor Emeritus, Dept. of Psychology, York University said, " In each story, the characters' resilience is illustrated by how they transform difficult life stories into constructive final narratives. They find the courage to triumph over challenges to heal and they grow. The message of the book: speaking one's truth makes for desired change and healing."

In her review, Liz Moulden said, "The short stories from Speak From Your Heart And Be Heard have given me a second chance and a voice, the voice I never had. What's exciting about this book is each main character in these short stories experienced some kind of abuse/ trauma but each finds their inner voice. With help, they're able to heal. Anyone who has ever experienced abuse or trauma as I have will be able to see snapshots of themselves in these stories."

In addition, Dr. Goldman offers a treasure trove of related information on her blog. Her articles span topics from diversity to human relations, psychology, single parenting, immigration and children, marriage and family and much more. The blog can be found at her website.

Self Esteem And Resilence For Girls: Visionary Positive Psychologist Dr Barbara Becker Holstein Announces New Selfie Film Series Now Available On Roku, Vimeo

Dr. Barbara Becker Holstein is a best-selling author and film maker who uses positive psychology concepts to help kids deal with bullying, anxiety, depression, loneliness, school shootings and social media issues.

Every now and then, a seismic shift is required in how we think about our world. That is occurring now in many fields, but none more important than in the field of psychology. Unlike previous generations, today's youth grapple with vulnerabilities that were inconceivable just a few decades ago. The emergence of mass shootings in educational institutions and the looming environmental crisis have created a never-before-seen psychological terrain. There can be no standard protocol or treatment plan for a form of trauma that has never been seen before. This generation is utterly unique in regard to the challenges they face.

We cannot ask Aunt Jane how she handled school shootings when she was a little girl, or Uncle John how he dealt with knowing the planet may not be here in a few years. The adults of today have never been exposed to such things. There is no common ground between generations. Thus, the modalities of the past are ill-equipped to provide any real solutions. The evolving landscape demands a paradigm shift in treatment modalities to align with the interconnected and technology-driven nature of the contemporary life of young people, who are apt to reject anything that even remotely smacks of "old-school".

Dr. Barbara Becker Holstein has taken the first steps in developing a groundbreaking approach to helping young girls deal with these new challenges via the concept of 'selfie film making'.

"Technology surrounds us and often directs and creates the ways we live," Dr Holstein stated. "As a positive psychologist I constantly see the pros and cons of technology. Because of technology we are healthier than our grandparents. We travel more, we have access to foods from around the world and our days and nights are filled with information from around the world. Replacing the phone in the hallway or the wall in the kitchen was an amazing technological change in cultures around the world. Adding in a good camera made it possible to film everything from the fight outside the bar to a proposal for marriage on a bent knee made everyone a potential filmmaker. And that included myself, as a positive psychologist, author and playwright,

"A few years ago I was about to become a filmmaker, basing a film on a book I had written for girls. The intent of the book was to help girls become more resilient and have better self esteem. This happened via a young girl who kept a diary sharing her own emotional ups and downs, how she handled them and other aspects of her life, such as her first crush. The book had been a great success 'The Truth, I'm a girl, I'm smart and I know everything' . It had been made into a successful play, 'The Locket' and now it was time to turn it into a short film. Here is where the miracle happened . When the first filming of various scenes from the book seemed a bit dull, I was encouraged by Jon Seiler who was going to be the editor of the film to have the young lady go back and do all the main scenes film on her own with no crew watching and she picking her choice of room or outside to film, choosing her clothes to wear in each scene, etc. The second run of the film was amazing. The Star, Cassidy Terracciano  was fabulous as “the girl” from the book. We had a treasure of a film and also a technological breakthrough.

"The film,'The Truth, a Short Films, went on to win awards and is still being shown in film festivals. Also, Selfie Filmmaking as an art form was born and I have developed it ever since. My selfie films are coming up on 200 acceptances and or awards at festivals and presentations. The girl has been filmed and gone from about 13 to 16 in a series of coming of age selfie films that are now available on Roku and Vimeo But even more important is the fact that a new form of creation was accidentally born, as many historical changes come to be. Even electricity was harnessed by chance. What does this mean to you? It means that the world is always a few words or ideas away from the next chance happening that will change us forever. Selfie filmmaking as an art form now exists. Phones with cameras that make that possible are here to stay.

"The other day I was stunned to see that now you can get a selfie camera that really works for your 3 year old. That means everything from a deaf child being able to be more expressive in sharing what he sees or is on his mind, to 4 year olds creating plays on stage in the kitchen. And think of the shy child finding a way to make his or her presence known via film."

The new selfie film series includes 7 films:

Self Esteem And Resilience Series - Video 1. The Truth - A Short Film
A young girl shares her diary - falling in love, hating her mother, hating her parents fighting, being afraid to grow up, being upset that they may move, loving the locket her aunt gives her and feeling loved in ways by her aunt that her parents can't seem to muster, wishing the boy she is in love with would grow taller, confronting her disappointment that she has no relationship with him, sharing her glee at having a best friend and confiding in each other, coming to terms with growing up, letting go of her first love, getting ready to move and more.

Self Esteem And Resilience Series - Video 2. Falling In Love - A Coming Of Age Selfie Film
A young teen talks to 'you' via Selfies on her smart phone. In these conversations the girl shares her loneliness moving, losing her best friend, her beginning friendships with new kids, and her realization that she has fallen in love again.

Self Esteem And Resilience Series - Video 3. Secrets - A Coming Of Age Selfie Film
Based on Secrets, Diary of a Gutsy Tween, this 10 minute film takes the audience on the complicated roller coaster ride of being 13. The 'girl' hates her parents, falls in love, has puberty and body concerns, realizes that secrets matter and finds herself in a miserable accidental situation. But all ends on an upbeat note with the girl realizing she is most in touch with happiness and a sense of joy when she is being true to herself.

Self Esteem And Resilience Series - Video 4. Conflict And A Bit Of Magic - A Coming Of Age Selfie Film
The 'Girl' is traumatized by being ditched by a boyfriend, a bully, alcohol and kids taking drugs. Who can understand and help her? Maybe her aunt, who she gets to visit. A seance with a Medium in which the 'girl's' great-grandmother comes through gives her the courage she needs to ask her mom questions and in turn to learn some family secrets.

Esteem And Resilience Series - Video 5. The Medium - A Coming Of Age Selfie Film
The girl, unhappy, goes to visit a favorite aunt who takes her to see a medium. The girl's great grandmother is channeled in and changes happen for the better. Was this real of a set-up? Does that matter?

Self Esteem And Resilience Series - Video 6. Truth Is Stranger Than Fiction - A Coming Of Age Selfie Film
Two traumatic events structure the 'Girl's' high school year: a lockdown and a family secret. She is shocked yet manages to recover and to understand the importance and value of family and the complexity of truth.

Self Esteem And Resilience Series - Video 7. Lockdown
Three teens find themselves in the girls' bathroom during a lock down in school. Each respond emotionally differently. All are affected.

All the films are available at https://vimeo.com/showcase/10863899.

Dr Holstein also focuses on films and books that will inspire and help encourage self esteem and resilience for the older audience via films, Zoom dramas, podcasts, plays and other forms of media.

Dr. Holstein hopes to bring parents, teachers, librarians, grandparents and media together to accomplish one goal: Change in the lives of young people who suffer from anxiety and a growing sense of hopelessness and despair.

Dr. Holstein wraps Positive Psychology concepts in forms of media that young people find engaging, relatable and inspiring. These include:

Five bestselling, award-winning books (perfect for school libraries)

Five self-esteem workbooks for girls 8 and up

Award-winning films and coming of age selfie films

Podcasts

Dedicated websites

Stage plays

A library of articles

Ted-style talks

As a school psychologist and in her private practice, Dr. Holstein has worked with many children and parents, helping them to develop life skills in decision-making, recognition of their own talents, feel more courageous, and helping both kids and parents develop more successful inter-generational skills. Her last book, ‘Conflict and a Bit of Magic’, helps kids build self-esteem though reading the journal of a girl, identifying with the girl, and understanding they have more courage and resiliency than they thought they had. The book is based on the experiences of the already famous “girl” from 'The Truth, Diary of a Gutsy Tween' and 'Secrets, Diary of a Gutsy Teen', and achieved bestseller status in the multi-generational families category.

Dr. Holstein’s latest workbook for kids, ‘Secrets’ achieved bestseller status in the ‘Teen & Young Adult Nonfiction on Depression’ category.

Dr. Holstein's cutting-edge presentations, most recently based on the Covid-19 pandemic issues, can be found on both YouTube, Vimeo and on the Roku channel and Amazon Fire TV, titled as 'The Enchanted Self Presents'.

Dr. Holstein recently created The Selfie Showcase, a new project emerging from The Selfie Project, that allows young people to voice their opinions on subjects that matter to young people, including the pandemic.

The Selfie Showcase allows kids, teens, and young adults ages 13 to 18 to candidly express their concerns, worries, observations and possible solutions by creating selfie videos or films around important subjects using a smartphone. Dr. Holstein's mission is to help rectify, in several ways, some issues young people face by giving them a chance to engage with others in meaningful ways about the anxiety and stress they must grapple with constantly.

Dr. Holstein is available for media interviews and can be reached using the information below or by email at barbara.holstein@gmail.com.More information about the Selfie Showcase is available at http://www.selfiefilmmakers.com. Redefining Christian Fiction - Bestselling Author Joseph Ganci Announces No Charge Download Of New Ebook, Second David, Trials And Tribulations

The new eBook again paints a stunning portrait of ancient Biblical history. It is the third in the Empire of Israel series. All the ebooks in the series have achieved bestseller status.

Joseph Ganci, author of three bestselling books in the Empire Of Israel series, has announced that his latest ebook, 'Second David, Trials and Tribulations', will be available from January 9 through January 11 at no charge at Amazon.

Set aside all that you thought you knew about the Bible. In this book, Ganci weaves an epic historical tapestry, colored by insurrection, coups, and civil wars. It is a gripping and turbulent journey to the ancient world; a journey that mirrors present day headlines. And it is all backed up by solid research.

Reviewer Cecelia Hopkins called ‘Second David’, “a must-read for lovers of Christian literature and historical fiction.” Reviewer Essian Asian said, “Joseph Ganci masterfully blends historical narrative with captivating facts to create an engrossing read. This gives us a much more credible picture of David than we would have from any other source. Ganci's storytelling style highlights the attention to detail that fills in the gaps in the story concerning questions readers might have about David's failings. ‘Second David: Trials And Tribulations’ is one book historical fiction buffs will enjoy. “

The novel unveils the near miss of David's son Absalom's assassination attempt and the betrayal by Ahithophel, once David's trusted prime minister. Ahithophel's contempt for David leads to a failed coup and an orchestrated insurrection, plunging the kingdom into civil war.

The book meshes historical fact with the excitement of an action packed adventure novel. Our version of this history is like a puzzle missing many of its pieces. ‘Second David’ provides those missing pieces and reveals the consequences of David’s self-imposed judgment.

This is not just another biblical saga; it's a revelation, painting a new portrait of ancient Israel, Jerusalem, and the profound impact of one man's choices. It is an unforgettable exploration of an era that continues to shape the capital of Israel, even today. The ebook will be available at no charge January 9 through January 11, 2024 at https://www.amazon.com/stores/Joseph-Ganci/author/B06XHZ76N9?ref=ap_rdr&store_ref=ap_rdr&isDramIntegrated=true&shoppingPortalEnabled=true

Readers and reviewers alike have praised Ganci's previous books:

"Although most people are aware of the story of David and Goliath, the giant, 'David: God's Chosen Crucible' by Joseph Ganci is a brilliant retelling of all the stories about the Shepard boy who would one day become a King of Israel. Reading with all the informational value of a history textbook is deftly combined with the entertainment of an action/adventure novel."
Michael J. Carson Reviewer for Midwest Book Review.

"David God's Chosen Crucible is intelligently plotted, well-researched, and expertly executed. The writing by Joseph Ganci is wonderful, and the author has the gift of filling the narrative with exciting details, describing a setting that is colorful and transports readers to biblical times." - Christian Sia for Readers' Favorite.

"Joseph delivers an extremely believable story that fills the gaps smoothly and neatly packs various events into an intense, multiple-viewpoint narrative. The book also contains several lessons and messages to help believers grow in faith and knowledge about God's ways."
Foluso Falaye - San Francisco book review.

The new book is available on Amazon in e-Book and paperback versions.

Ganci takes a ground-breaking and revelatory path in his quest to bring awe-inspiring stories to life and, ultimately, to film. He believes that connecting facts is far more enchanting than loosely fitting fantasies. He works within an engaging and dramatized fiction framework that remains faithful to uphold spiritual principles while exceedingly rich in detail.

Ganci bases his work on three primary pillars:

The rock-solid cornerstone is historical biblical geography.

The creative arch is revelatory in its timing and issues.

The research is concrete and firmly rooted in customs, languages, and traditions.

Ganci fills in the blanks with rock-solid research and prophetic revelations. It is a style that has allowed him to create breakthrough approaches that are exciting and breathtaking while remaining within the limits of sound biblical teachings.

Ganci is also the creator of 'Incredible Bible Mysteries,' a five-part video series now available on YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCK0Op2dYhMXtz7nh2D__keQ.

Ganci believes that Old Testament revelations are the Word of God. Simultaneously, many needful details remained buried until the information age of discovery made them prominent and visible to the naked eye. These insights create a middle ground of understanding. As a dedicated and highly motivated researcher, he proposes many undiscovered nuggets of spiritual gold in the original manuscripts. He shines a new light on ancient texts and removes the black-or-white argument of the all-or-nothing question of modern-day revelations. He is adept at untangling philosophical and theological human-made knots. He allows us to look at what some consider foregone conclusions.

Readers of his bestseller, 'Gideon: The Sound and the Glory,' will learn about the Jewish Tabernacle, the Ark of the Covenant, the mysterious Golden Ephod, why David found himself at battle with Goliath, and much much more. This work illuminates the dark corners of scripture while engaging readers in a gripping narrative.

Joseph Ganci was honored as one of the '50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading in the 2017 Book Awards. 'Gideon: The Sound and the Glory’ has received rave reviews from readers and reviewers alike. A recent reviewer stated, "Joseph Ganci's prose is arresting, peppered with fantastic imagery and succinct descriptions of plot, characters, and setting. The themes rise to a masterful recreation. They are woven into the story to allow the reader to enjoy its inspiration and the accompanying action. The book explores powerful spiritual and political themes, capturing the conflicts and dynamics of life within the community of God's chosen people. Gideon: The Sound and the Glory will appeal to fans of political thrillers, adventure, and conflict-driven stories laced with intense action." Other reviewers have used phrases such as "riveting," "amazing," "deftly crafted," and "highly recommended."

About Joseph Ganci:

When writing, Joseph Ganci takes all resources available through sources such as the first century historian Flavius Josephus, the Talmud, the Tanakh divided into the Torah, Prophets, and Hagiographa and the KJV bible. His first editor and friend, who is a sixteenth generation Rabbi, is an invaluable cultural resource. Ganci also has a personal Rabbi who is a very learned orthodox Hasidic Jew to question.

Ganci often prays and meditates to seek answers from God, who has been graciously forthcoming to him with divine understanding. Before he commits to drawing conclusions, information must demonstrate depth and weight consistent with conventional wisdom. He also uses Internet resources, including generational commentaries from both Christian and Jew scholars. "Seek and you shall find, knock and it will be open unto you," is Ganci’s rock-hard philosophy and his own lifetime experience of the human condition. He is a Vietnam combat veteran and father of five daughters and five grandchildren. He resides in Texas.
