Depression, Bipolar, Dyslexia And Stuttering - Sid Nachman's 82 Year Long Fight Detailed In 'Bipolar Me'

Nachman was the first person in the US to be diagnosed and successfully treated for bipolarism over 50 years ago. Sid writes engaging nonfiction books that revolve around his experiences growing up in Philadelphia

[Wilmington, NC, April 4, 2017 Imagine battling depression, bipolar, dyslexia and stuttering - all at the same time. Now imagine this happens during a time when doctors knew nothing about chemical imbalances in the brain. Finally imagine that the struggle goes on for 82 years. That is Sid Nachman's wildly engaging story, detailed in his brutally honest memoir, 'Bipolar Me'.

Sid Nachman was the first person in the US to have been successfully treated for bipolarism over 50 years ago. 'Bipolar Me' provides a penetrating glimpse into the day-to-day experience of a man who dealt with a condition for which there was no name at the time - a time when such chemical imbalances might be diagnosed as a form of schizophrenia and could be treated with electric shock treatment or end up with the sufferer being locked away.

'Bipolar Me' is a wild ride of a story that has garnered high praise from readers and reviewers alike. Sid's no-holds-barred writing style and deft storytelling, combined with his own style of acerbic wit, takes readers on a trip through his life and his mind. It is filled with hilarious stories that show us that life is just plain good. BookLover USA said that the book is "A roller coaster ride through the mind of one of the funniest and endearing story-tellers of his generation." It is a highly entertaining memoir that allows readers to take a ride with Sid into the unfettered mind of a bipolar boy who never grows up until his hair turns white. Readers will get to see his world in black and white and vivid color and will feel what he feels when he feels like he weighs three thousand pounds and a minute later can leap over tall buildings. Sid's life is a life gone wild that settles down when it’s almost too late.

"One of my friends told me that she read 'Bipolar Me' and it was was simply amazing that I could fight my way out of such debilitating disorders," Nachman stated. "I've been telling my wife, Linda that I'm amazing for years but I still can't get her to bow down. I just don't know what to do to get respect.  I guess I have to try a little harder."

Sid Nachman is also the author of 'Strictly For Seniors' - a nonfiction work of short stories about what happened to Sid "after breakfast on Delancey Street" in West Philly during the 30’s and 40’s when his Mom gave him a big hug and kiss and sent him on his way.  Sid had great fun, survived bullying by hitting the bigger boys about the head with his violin case and developed his own singular brand of “street smarts".

Both of Nachman's books have received fantastic reviews. One stated, "Like James Joyce, Sid Nachman can take the ordinary and turn it into magic with a fluency that's imperceptible." Another said "Sid's stories touch the human soul with wit, charm and realism."

Sid Nachman is available for media interviews and can be reached using the information below or by email at mollymax210@gmail.com. Both books are available at Amazon. The free Kindle ebook download is available for Amazon Prime members and Kindle Unlimited subscribers. Both Kindle and epub versions (for Nook and all other e-readers) of the book are available at Payhip at http://www.payhip.com/sidnachman. The Nook version is available at Barnes and Noble. Author Dan Slot Announces Release Of New Self Help Book, 'Awareness Journey'

Dan Slot's book helps readers discover how the power of individual thought and perspective can help one achieve one's most cherished goals.

Author Dan Slot has announced the release of his latest self help book, 'Awareness Journey'. The best self help books help readers move toward understanding, courage, love, peace and joy. This is precisely where Slot takes readers, all within the framework of a fictional journey.

All of us have to deal with personal issues - depression, relationship problems, money issues and a host of others. Of course we hope to leave negative emotional states behind. These include shame, guilt, grief, fear, anger, anxiety, regret and many others. We all want to achieve higher states such as courage, love, peace, joy, optimism and trust.

Many of us feel that leaving negative states behind and achieving higher states will require a great deal of effort. We put the accomplishment in the future. Dan Slot shows us how we can achieve those states now - for it takes no time at all to simply be what we really are now.

Dan's work follows in the tradition of the law of attraction classic, 'The Secret', and is heavily influenced by the work of Dr. David Hawkins. He uses an engaging and enlightening tale of fiction to provide his readers with the answers they seek.

In the storyline of the book, the journey of Tanxian zhe, simply known as “Tan,” begins aboard the Conscious Awareness. His allegorical ship takes readers to different ports within their own heart, soul, and mind where, along with Tan, they will explore locations and characters representing various emotional states of mind. These stops may either prevent one from finding happiness, or propel one toward the goal. By vicariously understanding each character’s perspective, readers can discover how the power of individual thought and perspective can help one find a fulfilling harbor.

"As we become aware of the way our universe works, we realize that the part we play is what we were meant to do," Slot stated. "It comes naturally to us. By releasing what holds us back, we add glory and beauty to our world. By being the person we are meant to be, we are rewarded with joy and happiness."

Reviews have praised 'Awareness Journey'. One reviewer said, "Awareness Journey was truly enjoyable and eye opening. Though we all think we try our best, the book brought the awareness of how ego is still a major factor in my life. Dan's ideas about faith and the source of happiness in life are well delivered and easily understood. The idea of every little thing we do potentially adding or subtracting from the well-being of our universe was beautiful." Another stated, "This book is an easy read with a great story and then goes deep into the thoughts that we have about ourselves and how they either make our lives dead and repetitive or alive and forward moving. The author really brought this awareness to a level that is understandable and relatable to today's lives."

Dan Slot is available for media interviews and can be reached using the information below or by email at dan@danslot.com. 'Awareness Journey' is available at Amazon. More information is available at Slot's website at http://www.awarenessjourneybook.com.

About Dan Slot:

Daniel Slot grew up in the mid 1960s in the often-violent inner city, where he came to understand the life outlook held by people in that segment of society. His family’s fundamentalistic Christian following gave him a solid foundation, but never answered certain questions about God and human suffering.

Daniel graduated from Cornerstone University with honors, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in business management. He then started his own practice as a Certified Life Success coach, trainer, speaker, and author dedicating his time to those who want to benefit from his experiences and knowledge. Award Winning Author Christina M. Pagès Announces Release Of Children's Book, 'Lucy In Her Secret Wood' (A Story Inspired By Wordsworth’s Wild Child, Lucy Gray)

Pagès’s book was the recipient of Readers' Favorite Silver Award, Literary Classics Seal of Approval, and Pinnacle Book Achievement Award

Award winning author Christina Pagès has announced the release of 'Lucy in Her Secret Wood' – Book 1 of the Lucy Series. The book addresses a number of issues faced by young people today, among them the loss of a connection with nature and bullying.

Social media and technology have impacted children in a number of ways, some of them unexpected. One important aspect of the trend toward technology is that many young people have lost touch with their natural environment. The connection with nature is a subject not generally found in children's literature. Pagès manages to weave a tale that seamlessly presents the beauty of the natural world and the connection with Mother Nature with another subject that negatively impacts youth - bullying.

In the storyline of the book, Lucy’s step-father takes her from the tiny room where he has locked her away for years, and drives her out to a remote wood where he leaves her with a bag of food, and her only life-long companion, a stuffed bunny. When Lucy’s fear of her stepfather dies away with his footsteps, and her tiny room world opens up to trees and bluebells, she is in awe of the shapes and colors around her. She recognizes her friends and family in the sentinels of trees, the woodland life and no longer feels lost and alone. She felt more lost inside walls, separated from outdoor life. Lucy needs only a few days in the woods to realize that this is her true home. Through 9-year old Will, who brings her food, two live chickens, and a recorder to copy woodland music, she experiences her first human friendship, and a way to make music that enchants all who hear it.

She is now part of the magical world of woodland animals, birds and butterflies, not locked away from it. Through Lucy, children recognize they are more “alive” when surrounded by the sounds, colors, and music of outdoors. The world of their computer and phone screens is always ‘on the other side,’ at a distance from them.

“Years ago, when I played in the woods and fields, I imagined I was part-child and part-flower, part-tree, or in a blade of grass. I was in everything, and everything was in me," Pagès stated.  "Beautiful childhood memories like these add to our creativity and sense of self as we grow. Today, when we are filling up our planet with cities, cutting down trees, forcing animals out of their habitats, when many children are 'plugged away' from outdoor life, there is nothing more important than giving them a sense of belonging to nature. When Lucy walks through the woods, looks into the deer’s eyes, hears the birds singing, she knows that everything around her is family — a family to keep safe, and never leave. This is the ‘family’ we all must protect today.”

'Lucy in Her Secret Wood' has received high praise from readers and reviewers. The book received the Literary Classics Seal of Approval. It was awarded the Pinnacle Book Achievement Award and took a Silver Medal in Readers' Favorite Awards. In their review, Children's Literary Classics stated, "You know the sort of book that is so absorbing, so entirely enchanting, you wish it would never end?  -- The type of book that has you crying at the finish just because it's over?  That's what we experienced as we read 'Lucy in Her Secret Wood''".

Christina Pagès is available for media interviews and can be reached using the information below or by email at christinampages@gmail.com. 'Lucy in Her Secret Wood' is available at most book outlets. More information is available at her website at http://www.christinapages.com/lucy.

About Christina Pagès:

Christina M. Pagès, Ph.D., grew up in the fields of England, spending hours wandering the countryside. In America, she raised four children while studying for her Ph.D. She was the California State Poetry Society’s Winner in 2005, won a publication award for 'Shadow Words' (2006) published her poetry collection, 'Remember Not to Forget', in 2013, and her children’s novel, 'Lucy in Her Secret Wood' in 2016. Pagès has taught literature in Universities and colleges since 1987. Her writing, painting, piano playing, and gardening, all come from her love of nature as a child. “Nature is our best friend,” she says, “patiently waiting to feed our imagination and spirit.”

Book 2 of the Lucy Series – 'The Woodland Adventures of Lucy and Will' is complete, and will be published by Waldorf Publishing in 2018.

Why Prosecutions Of Cops Almost Always Fail - Author And Police Training Expert R. Barry Andrews Releases Statement

R. Barry Andrews spent twenty-one years as the Executive Director of Police Training Institute, Inc., a non-profit advanced law enforcement training organization. In the tradition of great police novel writers, his police fiction novels are gritty, raw and real.

Over and over again today the headlines are filled with stories about police officers who are prosecuted in relation to shootings. The numbers are staggering. Is this due to more cops turning bad? Or could it be something else? R. Barry Andrews recently released a statement in which he addressed some important issues.

"Prosecutors and District Attorneys are elected by the voters while State’s Attorneys are generally appointed by the Governor of the State," Andrews stated. "The commonality is that their livelihood hinges on their political support. The result is that they literally throw cops 'under the bus' to appease a segment of the community who are screaming for blood."

"This began in 1991 with the Rodney King case. The Los Angeles District Attorney got a Grand Jury to indict four LA cops, only to lose the case at trial. It is widely known that a skilled prosecutor can get a seated Grand Jury to indict a ham sandwich and that has proven out in case after case throughout the country. As the prosecution determines what evidence the Grand Jury will hear, their ability to obtain indictments is skewed."

"When a prosecutor actually presents all of the available information, as in the Michael Brown and Eric Garner cases, the likelihood is no indictment. When prosecutors decide to play politics with hot-button cases, as in Baltimore and Cincinnati, indictments that are destined to fail is the result."

"Marilyn Mosby, the Baltimore City State’s Attorney stood before a press conference and made it clear that she was willing to railroad cops to appease the protestors. She charged six officers with felony crimes in the death Freddie Gray. One officer’s trial ended in a hung jury, two others resulted in not guilty verdicts and then she decided to forgo the rest."

"Joe Deters, the Hamilton County, Ohio prosecutor stood before a press conference in the death of Samuel Dubose by Raymond Tensing, a University of Cincinnati police officer, and called for the disbanding of a State University Police Department. Tensing’s first trial ended in a hung jury and his second trial is scheduled for late May, 2017."

"What would appear to the easiest of the high profile cases also resulted in a hung jury. A North Charleston, South Carolina police officer was captured on video shooting an unarmed man running away from him. His retrial will be coming sometime in 2017."

"Charging officers with Murder for an on-duty shooting is an extremely high bar for the prosecution to reach. It requires the intent of 'purposeful' or proving that the death occurred during the commission of a felony. "

"Murder charges have resulted in not guilty verdicts in Texas and Kentucky. The South Carolina and Ohio cases have yet to reach a conclusion, and the Illinois case has yet to go to trial."

R. Barry Andrews spent twenty-one years as the Executive Director of Police Training Institute, Inc., a non-profit advanced law enforcement training organization. In the tradition of great police novel writers, his police fiction novels are gritty, raw and real. Though he writes works of fiction, they are based on real world facts. Andrews is the author of two police novels:

The New Recruit - Set in Cincinnati, this is a fictional novel which introduces the realities of becoming and being an urban American cop. Matt Davis is a 23 year old who has just graduated from UCLA with a degree in criminal justice. His parents tell him it’s time to find a job and he applies to be a cop in Cincinnati, Ohio. The reader follows Matt through the rigorous pre-employment testing and while in Cincinnati, he witnesses a murder. The book follows the investigation of the homicide while Matt waits to hear if he has been selected.

The Female Recruit - The second of a three book fictional series about the realities of becoming (being) a cop in urban America. Lissa Harding is a powerful woman whose only career aspiration is to be a cop. She moves to the big city after finishing college and takes a job as a security guard where she is assaulted at work. She turns this tragic event into a positive when she takes a position as a sex crimes investigator because of her ability to relate to the victims.

R. Barry Andrews is available for media interviews and speaking engagements. He can be reached using the information below or by email at coptrainer56@yahoo.com. All of his books are available at online book retailers. More information, including a number of pieces that address police shootings and the realities of being a cop today are available at his website at http://www.rbarryandrews.com.

Dr. Barbara Becker Holstein's Selfie Films To Build Positive Self Esteem Receive New Short Film Awards, Chosen For Upcoming Film Festivals

Dr. Holstein, a psychologist/filmmaker and originator of a unique Selfie Film concept, writes award-winning books, plays and produces short films that offer solutions to problems that impact today's teens and tweens

Positive Psychologist and filmmaker Dr. Barbara Becker Holstein has announced that 'Falling in Love, A Selfie Film' won the Runner Up Award for Best New Jersey Short at the Brightside Tavern Fest.

"Sitting in the audience, watching the audience laugh and chuckle as they watched 'Falling in Love, A Seflie Film' at the Brightside Tavern Shorts Film Fest in Jersey City, March 4, 2017 was amazing," Dr. Holstein stated. "I was stunned by the enthusiasm of the crowd. The film seemed to totally uplift the audience.  There was an abundant amount of chuckling and laughter and then amazing clapping with cheers at the end.  My husband, Dr. Russell Holstein, asked me if I had meant the film to be comedic. He enjoyed it tremendously and the audience were obviously into it.

"I believe as a psychologist and a filmmaker that the audience was relating to several factors as they chuckled: The girl, Megan Brown, was so real and intimate as she talked into her cell phone.  She achieved an immediacy that is not possible when a full camera team hover around a young star. This led to the audience relating immediately in their own heads to their own past feelings and memories about growing up. Most can find some recognition of themselves in that girl. The story of a first crush or love is so universal.

"We stumble and struggle through the emotions and situations we get ourselves as we experience the feelings of a first crush.  Seen in another it is easy to laugh and relieve tensions.  Seen in ourselves it can be painful and shameful.

"I think combining the Selfie filming techniques with a story we can identify with is what made the film so enjoyable. Many people at the Fest told me the Selfie approach was brilliant and keep at it. Certainly Megan was not being comedic.  But I think any performance that truly captures the things we go through and has an arch that is hopeful and fulfilling will bring laughter and visceral reactions by the audience.

In addition, 'The Truth, A Short, Short Film' and 'Falling in Love: A Selfie Film' have been selected for the #Hangontoyourshortsfilmfestival. Both films are up for awards. Both are up for Best Experimental Film. 'Falling in Love' is up for Best Concept Film.  This Festival will take place May 20-21, 2017 in Asbury Park, New Jersey.

"I am very touched, as my work as a psychologist turned filmmaker is all about utilizing new forms of sharing wisdom, humor, etc. and creating new forms of art," Dr. Holstein concluded. "I believe that the Selfie can be used to make quality films that touch our emotions and our lives. My films utilize the cell phone for filming and I believe that my films demonstrate how the Selfie can begin to emerge as a new concept in filmmaking.

"I will be sharing excerpts of my Selfie Films, along with my two books that are the basis of the films,  'The Truth' and 'Secrets', with the students of Ocean Township when I once again spend Author's Day with many of them at the Intermediate School in Ocean Township.

Dr. Holstein will also be partnering with charitable organizations who focus on helping young girls overcome challenges. She will allow two of her most successful creations to be used as fundraising tools - the new short film 'The Truth, A Coming of Age Selfie Film' and an ebook based on her other film entitled 'A Selfie Film, Falling In Love'.

Charities can use 'The Truth, A Coming of Age Selfie Film' as a fundraising tool. The film centers around falling in love, along with a host of other emotionally difficult issues that the girls face.  The film is based on her successful book for teens and tweens, 'The Truth, Diary of a Gutsy Tween'. In that falling in love is undoubtedly one of the most important events in a teen's life, she addresses that issue squarely.  However, beyond the first crush, the real essence of growing up is finding a way to hold on to the best of oneself and gather courage from one's own stamina, strengths and talents.  The 'girl' in the film comes of age as a young teen in a creative, uplifting way.

Holstein's short films have won numerous awards and accolades. 'The Truth - A Short Film' premiered at the Garden State Film Festival and its song, 'On The Edge of Something New' won the award as the best pop song of 2016. The short two minute film by Dr. Holstein, 'The Truth, A Short Short Film', premiered at FilmOneFest in July. The film was chosen as an Official Selection in the Chain Film Festival held in Manhattan on August 13, 2016. The film was also selected by the Jersey City International Television and Film Festival (JCITFF), and was shown on Saturday, November 5 2016 at the Jersey City International Television and Film Festival. 'The Truth - A Short Film' was officially selected for the Golden Door International Film Festival held in September 2016.

The second fundraising offering, 'A Selfie Film - Falling In Love' is an ebook that details many of the issues and stories behind the creation of Dr. Holstein's "selfie films", which utilize cutting edge New Media technology. These films are Selfie Films assisted by a professional camera crew. The topics and questions for discussion in the book can be used by a group of two, a parent and a child, or a group of hundreds as the universal subjects of growing up and handling tough issues are discussed.

Dr. Holstein requests that any verified charitable organization interested in raising funds contact her via email. She is available for media interviews and can be reached using the information below or by email at drbarbara@enchantedself.com. Both the film and the ebook are available at http://www.payhip.com/drbholstein. All of her books are available at Amazon, Barnes and Noble and all other online retailers. More information is available at her website at http://www.NewShortFilmTheTruth.com.

New Robert Redford Movie, The Discovery, Addresses Suicide And The Afterlife - Author and NDE Expert Brian McLaughlin Offers Insight Into The Issue Of Life After Death

McLaughlin's book about his NDE details his totally unique near death experience. It is raw and it's real. There is no embellishment, no preaching and no hidden agenda

For some people the pain of living is greater than the benefits derived from living. For some in that group, the idea of life after death provides some hope. And for others in such dire straits, suicide seems like a viable alternative. Why continue to suffer? Everybody dies at some point in time, so why not now? If one's faith in life after death is strong enough, and the suffering while living in the world is intolerable, suicide can appear to be an alternative.

That broad concept is a focal point in 'The Discovery' a new film starring Robert Redford. The film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2017, and will be released by Netflix in March. In the film, the existence of the afterlife is proven scientifically, which leads to mass suicides. NDE expert Brian McLaughlin, author of 'A Flight Without Wings', offers some valuable insight in regard to the question of suicide.

McLaughlin recently shared:“I have, in the past, had the opportunity to share some comfort to those concerned about an afterlife.  The experience for me was peaceful and filled with pure love from many sources.

"I recently co-hosted an internet TV Show, dealing with suicide among other mental challenges. I felt a responsibility to those struggling with the thoughts of suicide, not to portray an attractive alternative to living.”

He went on to say:  “I am keenly aware of these feelings, as I was facing some life threatening surgery (aortic aneurism), and was considering not having any intervention. It seemed like a viable choice for me, no fear of death and.... a sudden and fast ending.  I took the time to speak to family members, and my mother suggested that this resolution, although all mine, had serious consequences for those people who cared about me and would be left behind.  I hadn’t looked at the decision from that perspective before. My choice to have this aneurism repaired became one of love and consideration for my family.  Just coming to that conclusion made me feel better”

Brian's book about his near death experience, 'A Flight Without Wings' offers readers a look at the near death experience from an unbiased point of view. It is the presentation of the material that sets this book apart from the other books about the near death experience. It is raw and it's real. There is no embellishment and no hidden agenda. While his book has a spiritual flavor certainly, there is no preaching and no religious messages. It is his near-death experience, just as it happened.

McLaughlin's experience changed the course of his life forever.  It instilled in him what we all seek - certainty about life after death. And with that a peace of  mind that can never be shaken, nor can it be doubted. His near death experience brought a sense of clarity. It brought a sense of real, lasting peace. He now knows with certainty that we exist forever. It is that simple message he brings to his audience, both through his book and at his speaking engagements and in his media appearances.

Brian has won numerous awards. He was chosen as one of '50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading' in both the 2015 and 2016 Book Awards.

Reviews of 'A Flight Without Wings' have been overwhelmingly positive. Dr. Penny Sartori, author of 'The Wisdom of Near-Death Experiences', said "This book will help others who have had an NDE to make sense of their experience and will also help those close to someone who has had an NDE because NDEs affect close family members and friends too."

Jack Magnus, a reviewer with Readers Favorite, called the book a "well written and moving memoir that neither delves into the fanciful or dogmatic,...”  "…Well worth reading, and is highly recommended." Canadian Romantic Fiction Author Rusty Blackwood Announces Events, Special Pricing On 'Willow's Walk' In March, 2017

Blackwood's latest 5 star romance novel, 'Willow’s Walk', follows 'Passions In Paris', a romantic fiction novel written in the tradition of Bram Stoker's 'Dracula' and 'What Dreams May Come'

Canadian Indie romantic fiction novelist Rusty Blackwood has announced a number of interviews and special pricing in March 2017 for her 5 star rated romantic fiction novel 'Willow's Walk'. The new romantic fiction novel is unique in that it addresses the dangers of social media within the context of a romantic fiction story line. Social media sites can sometimes be wonderful places to form new relationships. They are also fraught with danger for the unsuspecting. Blackwood uses this concept as one focal point of the story.  A mature woman / younger man relationship that begins in an Internet chat room leads to real trouble for Willow Sutherland-Crosby, the protagonist of the story.

On March 14th 'Willow's Walk' will be a featured book for the day on Indie Author News.

On March 21st an interview with Rusty Blackwood will appear on the same site. There will be a free giveaway of the Kindle version of 'Willow's Walk' at Amazon.com from 6 am to 11 pm.

Then on March 28th 'Willow's Walk' will be the Book of the Day on Indie Author News.

"I am very pleased to have three upcoming day features during the month of March on Indie Author News," Rusty Blackwood stated. "I have appeared on this popular and informative Indie book site back in 2013 with my romantic fiction drama, 'Passions in Paris: Revelations of a Lost Diary', and I am most pleased to have my newest novel, 'Willow's Walk', hold center stage, along with an interview with yours truly speaking about the novel, as well as my role as an Indie author.  To have one's work featured on such an impressive site is a credit to one's name, and to one's work, and I am once again looking forward to it."

'Willow's Walk', follows the release of 'Passions in Paris: Revelations of a Lost Diary'. Her first romantic fiction novel is a sweeping saga written in the tradition of Bram Stoker's 'Dracula' and 'What Dreams May Come'. It has been compared to Erich Segal's 'Love Story' and Nicholas Sparks' 'The Notebook'.

Willow's Walk' is a gripping new tale, certain to hold readers captive from the very first page. Set in the beautiful city of Ottawa, Canada in 2003, this touching story centers on the life and times of a woman determined to prevail at all costs, regardless of what is set before her, the result of which is certain to leave the reader reeling in its wake.

The path each person walks is entirely their own. The pitfalls along that path, as well as the way in which they are dealt with are entirely up to the individual. But Willow Sutherland-Crosby walks a far-different path, and with her own agenda.

Abuse, deception, intrigue, and a never ending quest for happiness and love - will she find these, or will her blind determination be her downfall?

'Willow's Walk' has received a number of 5 star reviews from professional reviewers. Maria Beltran stated, "I highly recommend this book." Gisela Dixon said, “I thoroughly enjoyed reading about the life of a person presented in such a wonderful manner." Another said, "Brutally honest. I was touched by the bittersweet conclusion that sometimes purpose and happiness are only found through great tragedy ..."

'Passions in Paris' has also received rave reviews. Linkk Kula Kane said, "Passions in Paris I think stands its ground with these other powerful romantic stories like 'The Notebook' by Nicolas Sparks." Reader Fred Pifer stated that “'Passions', is a fascinating book of a love story that seemed to be written with me in mind. In the book 'Love Story' by Erich Segal, he told of a deep abiding love story that reminds me of Cullen and Joy’s in Ms. Blackwood’s book, but the twists of intrigue and mystery that she adds keeps the reader on edge throughout."

Information on the new romantic fiction release, including a new book trailer, is available at Blackwood's site on the 'Willow' page. Readers can download paperback and Kindle versions of both books at Amazon sites worldwide, including Amazon.ca.

Rusty Blackwood is available for interview in the Toronto and Niagara areas and can be reached using the information below or by email at writerrusty@hotmail.ca. More information is available at her website at http://www.rusty-blackwood.com.

Rusty Blackwood is a prolific Indie author of romantic fiction, short story comedies, contemporary and traditional poetry and children's books. Her first love is romantic fiction, but she crosses genres with ease.

The Immortality Of Reincarnation - Multi-Award Winning Author Dana Lyons Uses Reincarnation As Basis Of Engaging Plot For Paranormal Novel, 'A Love Reborn'

Lyons brings readers stories no one else could write. Her books feature quantum level adventures that combine science with  spirituality blended with reincarnation, time travel, ancient  powers and alien forces.

Dr. Jim Tucker recently made the shocking claim that our souls can live on after death. In Dr. Tucker’s book, 'Life After Life: A Scientific Investigation of Children’s Memories of Previous Lives', he reveals what he learned from 15 years of interviews with 2,500 children who showed evidence of knowledge of prior lifetimes. The belief in reincarnation has been with us a long time, and is still widely regarded as real in Tibetan Buddhism and Hinduism. The Catholic Church held reincarnation as true until the Council of Nicaea in 325 AD when Church doctrines were standardized and all references to reincarnation were removed. Even quantum physicists have scientific findings to support the theory of reincarnation.

Speaking to NPR, Dr. Tucker said: “Some leading scientists in the past, like Max Planck, who’s the father of quantum theory, said that he viewed consciousness as fundamental and that matter was derived from it. … in that case, it would mean that consciousness would not necessarily be dependent on a physical brain in order to survive, and could continue after the physical brain and the body dies.”

In 'A Love Reborn', archeologist Phoenix Donovan scoffs at the mysterious warnings  given to her by a psychic during a tarot card reading. But the words of the psychic begin  to ring true when she receives an envelope marked with the Feather of Maat, and a visit  from Egyptian national, Asa Ducaine. With the offer of a job of a lifetime, Phoenix  travels to an ancient, pristine site near Egypt that dates back to 8,000 B.C.E. Why is she here? Why does it all seem so familiar? Why is she afraid? After ten days in a coma, Max Parrish awakens with memories of a past life and a woman he has to find at all cost. Driven beyond reason to the sands of northern Africa, he comes face to face with a love he couldn’t have imagined, along with a dark and deadly magic that could destroy more than just their lives.

Are second chances possible?

"Reincarnation is the ultimately immortality," Lyons stated. "In my book, 'A Love  Reborn', archaeologist Phoenix Donovan explores an ancient site that was her home in a  long-ago incarnation. Other players from that lifetime slowly appear: a lover, a murderer,  and a book of power. Given the ultimate ‘do-over’, Phoenix again faces a threat that ended her life once before."

Dana Lyons creates stories no one else could write. Her books feature reincarnated lovers, time traveling souls, and an epic battle against ancient powers and alien forces.  All of her books are fast paced, engaging and enlightening, written in contemporary time with modern elements as well as scenes from the ancient past. She takes her readers to worlds both ancient and contemporary for adventures of the heart, mind, and spirit.

Dana Lyons' books have received rave reviews posted on line. Reviewers have said: "Dana Lyons has the remarkable ability of being able to create heroines who are smart,  sexy, sassy and complicated all at the same time!"

"The rapid character development and story line left me unable to put it down.",

"Wonderful suspense. Makes you wonder if it could really happen."

"The way this author writes, the words visually play out in your head like a movie, so to  see it on the big screen would be awesome."

Dana has been named as a winner in the 2016 ’50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading’ Book Awards. Her honors came as a result of her appearance on The Authors Show. She was chosen as one of the best from a large number of authors through a public voting process. She was previously a winner in the 2015 '50 Great Writers You Should Be  Reading' Awards.

Her body of work includes:

'A Love Reborn', a modern paranormal thriller about ancient love, magic, and betrayal.

'The Road to Babylon', an epic paranormal thriller revolving around a prophecy so ancient the world had long forgotten it, and a power so secret, even its possessor was unaware of it.

'Heart of the Druae', a paranormal romance that relates the tale of archeologist Eric Beck.  On an unexplored hill near Stonehenge, something calls to him. Someone calls to him.  And on the day of the summer solstice, his entire existence is about to change …

'The Rosetta Coin', another epic paranormal thriller detailing the story of an artifact many have died for and an adventure that could change the world.

Dana Lyons is available for media interviews and can be reached using the information  below or by email at author.danalyons@yahoo.com. All of Dana's books are available at  Amazon and other online retail outlets. More information is available at her website at  http://www.ParanormalRomanceBookAuthor.com.

Certified Medium Pat Chalfant Announces Psychic Readings, Psychic Medium Classes, New Website

Oregon Spiritualist Medium Pat Chalfant's amazing psychic gifts have helped hundreds of individuals worldwide. She is the author of 'Spirit Lights A Path To Mediumship'

Certified Spiritualist Medium Pat Chalfant has announced psychic readings and psychic medium classes are now available at her new website.

Pat Chalfant's amazing psychic gifts have helped hundreds of individuals worldwide.

Pat has written a column on parapsychology and interviewed Hollywood stars and the psychics who read for them for a national newspaper.

Other topics she’s taught and written about are: past life therapy, death and dying, the Edgar Cayce work, the Cathars, and Spiritual healing.

The Association for Past Life Research and Therapies newsletter published a series of her interviews with psychiatrists, psychologists, and hypnotherapists who were all west coast pioneers of past life therapy. She also teaches internationally online and intermittently hosts an online Spiritualist circle, Spirit Lights Chapel.

In addition to offering one-on-one client readings arranged via email, Pat has penned the 'Spirit Lights Song Book' and three of those songs are in the National Spiritualist Association of Churches hymn book.

Pat's inspirational book, 'Spirit Lights A Path To Mediumship', explains how Pat, a real skeptic regarding such matters, developed mediumship abilities and now lives a life transformed by the spiritual. Mediumship is a controversial issue and Pat understands this, but she also believes that credible mediumship holds the promise of real benefits for mankind that have not been fully explored.

In addition, Pat hosts a Youtube channel and these videos are now available at her site.

Pat's online courses are exactly like the ones she teaches regularly in a classroom setting in Portland,Oregon. These classes are held online so that anyone can take part no matter where they might be in the world. Students receive one-on-one, private instruction - instead of sharing instruction with a group of students. This approach can produce intensive results in a shorter amount of time.

Private psychic readings can be done over the phone and can be scheduled by email.

Help Girls Build Self Esteem - Positive Psychologist, Author And Filmmaker Dr. Barbara Becker Holstein Announces Charitable Donation Program

Dr. Holstein, a psychologist/filmmaker and originator of a unique Selfie Film concept writes award-winning books, plays and produces short films that offer solutions to problems that impact today's teens and tweens

Positive Psychologist and filmmaker Dr. Barbara Becker Holstein has announced she will be partnering with charitable organizations who focus on helping young girls overcome challenges. She will allow two of her most successful creations to be used as fundraising tools - the new short film 'The Truth, A Coming of Age Selfie Film' and an ebook based on her other film entitled 'A Selfie Film, Falling In Love'.

"Coming of Age is one of the most important hurdles that a young woman faces, filled with the issues of leaving childhood behind, the storm of the hormones and finding a place for oneself in society that is healthy, productive and fulfilling for whoever the young woman is becoming," Dr Holstein stated. "Oftentimes it is also filled with disappointment and disillusionment about one's chances in life.  Girls suffer from all sorts of unexpected circumstances, including self-esteem blows, lack of academic opportunities, family strife, unexpected early pregnancies, drugs, etc."

Dr. Barbara Becker Holstein is a visionary who combines Positive Psychology with filmmaking and books to help young girls build self esteem. Dr. Holstein understands at a very deep level the importance of media in the lives of young people. She reaches young people by using the tools they engage with today. Using cutting edge technology, she presents important concepts via New Media films that combine the technology of the video Selfie with a standard film crew. She helps young girls make sense out of a topsy-turvy, selfie-facebook-video-film based reality.

Holstein's previous short films have won numerous awards and accolades. Currently, her new film 'Falling in Love, A Coming of Age, Selfie Film is up for two awards at the Brightside Tavern Short Film Fest which will be held the first weekend in March, 2017. The two awards are for Best Experimental Short Film and for Best New Jersey Short. 'The Truth- A Short Film' is also up for Best Experimental Short Film.

The second fundraising offering, 'A Selfie Film - Falling In Love' is an ebook that details many of the issues and stories behind the creation of Dr. Holstein's "selfie films", which utilize cutting edge New Media technology. These films are Selfie Films assisted by a professional camera crew.

'The Moreva of Astoreth' details the story of priestess, scientist, and healer Moreva Tehi, the spoiled, headstrong granddaughter of a powerful deity who is banished for a year to a volatile far corner of the planet for neglecting to perform her sacred duty, only to venture into dangerous realms of banned experimentation, spiritual rebirth, and fervent, forbidden love.

"I’ve been a fugitive from reality since forever. Reality is highly overrated, you know."

In the storyline of the book, Moreva Tehi is a mixed-race priestess—she carries the bloodline of the Devi gods and the mortal hakoi—but she hates her hakoi heritage. After missing an important ritual because the hakoi were given leave to participate, she is exiled from Temple life for a year to Mjor, a backwater village located in the planet’s far northern territory, to assume the roles of custodian of the spaceship landing beacon and spiritual leader/commander of the military garrison stationed there. Intending to spend the year secretly continuing her forbidden research into a cure for the dreaded red fever, and grudgingly attending to the hakoi garrison’s spiritual needs, Moreva Tehi is completely unprepared for the hakoi Mjoran chief—the charismatic, golden-haired Laerd Teger, whose elusiveness and cool disdain the Moreva finds both fascinating and infuriating. For it is he who will force Moreva Tehi to question everything she thought she knew, drive her to break her most sacred vows and seek out the dark secrets of her gods and her world, setting them both on a course that can only lead to damnation and death.

Reviewers and readers have praised 'The Moreva of Astoreth'.
