Immigration, Democracy And The Appeal Of Freedom - Author David Palladino Reminds Us Of The Inspirational Value Of Democracy

David Michael Palladino writes inspirational fiction for young readers. His works teach important ideals and values. He utilizes engaging works of fiction to accomplish that goal

Immigration is one of the hottest topics in the news today. The political parties hold radically different views on the subject. A headline on The Week website puts forth the idea that Rubio's presidential dreams were killed by his botched attempt at immigration reform. According to a piece on the Investors Business Daily site, exit polls show two-thirds of Republicans in five states favor a temporary ban on non-citizen Muslims. Senator Jeff Sessions has stated that the US cannot sustain the current levels of immigration. Nearly all the news sites are talking about Donald Trump's infamous wall idea. It seems that everybody wants to come to the US. Why?

We have a good thing. Everybody knows this.

Today people immigrate for many reasons. Prior generations however immigrated to the US for one primary reason - freedom. While today we can all take sides, voice opinions, and argue endlessly about immigration, the one idea we cannot argue about is freedom, for freedom is the most basic of human rights.

Escape from Soviet Communism and the quest for freedom is the theme of 'Quest For Freedom' by David Michael Palladino. Set in the Cold War era, it is the story of the beautiful Romanian, Adriana Corderu, and her quest to obtain freedom by escaping the Iron Curtain.

Palladino produces inspirational fiction for young readers. His works teach important ideals and values. As a former U.S. Army Ranger, former High School Phys-Ed & Health Teacher and Coach, and founder of “Palladino Martial Arts”, he understands the significance of instilling these all-important ideals and values in young people. He utilizes engaging works of fiction as the backdrop to accomplish that goal. This work will be especially appealing to parents, grandparents and educators, and it is pertinent today in light of the world situation.

During the Cold War the world revolved around the conflict between the theologies of communism and democracy. The two main protagonists in this conflict were the United States in the West and the Soviet Union in the East. As Eastern Bloc leaders began to tighten restrictions in the lives of their people, commensurate with their increase in power, there began to emerge, in the East, a group of young people, hard and idealistic, adventurous and courageous. These would become the heroes of the movement of their time. These were the brave young souls who, with inspiration from President Reagan, began to break down the Iron Curtain.

"President Reagan created a brave, tough new nation of patriots in the United States and changed the face of the world," Palladino stated. "This is the story of one of those who was directly affected by the new world perspective of what true freedom should be. It traces this intense time in world history through the adventures of the brave spirit, Adriana Corderu. This story follows this courageous young girl’s odyssey and introduces the fascinating characters who are and who become an integral part of her compelling story."

'Quest for Freedom' has received rave reviews. One reviewer stated, "More native born Americans need to know this story and more importantly appreciate our country as she did." Another said, "The readers become engrossed immediately in Palladino's dynamic effervescent style."

David Palladino is available for media interviews and can be reached using the information below or by email at inspirationalbookauthor@yahoo.com. 'Adriana Corderu, Quest for Freedom' is available at Amazon, Barnes and Noble and Rosedog Books. More information including a sample of the book is available at Palladino's website at http://www.inspirationalbookauthor.com.

Donald Trump Does Not Ask For Forgiveness - Kristi Burchfiel, Author Of 'Piecing Together Forgiveness’, Believes Forgiveness Is Key

Kristi Burchfiel is a Christian devotional author and speaker who believes in ‘living in the world while living out the word’

In a recent article posted on the Business Insider website, a CNN interview was referenced in which Donald Trump stated he does not regret never asking God for forgiveness, as he feels he doesn't have much to apologize for. Kristi Burchfiel, author of 'Piecing Together Forgiveness: A Study Of Philemon', believes forgiveness is a key concept that forms the basis of a direct relationship with God.

“Forgiveness is the key to all relationships,” Burchfiel explains. “Since none of us are perfect, each and every one of us will, at some point, do something wrong to another person or have another person do something wrong to us. Knowing how to respond in those situations gives us the opportunity to rescue and restore those relationships.” Burchfiel continues, “Our relationship with God through Jesus Christ is the most important relationship that we can have and it forms the basis for every other relationship in our lives. Only because of God’s forgiveness of us through His Son Jesus Christ are we able to experience true forgiveness for the wrongs that we have done. When we have been forgiven, then we understand what it means to forgive and ask forgiveness from others.”

Every one of us has either wronged another person or been wronged by someone else. Talking about forgiveness is great, but most people don’t know what forgiveness means or how to do it. What is forgiveness? How do we ask for forgiveness? How do we extend forgiveness to others? What about when people hurt my loved ones? How do I teach others about forgiveness? How do I make forgiveness last?

In 'Piecing Together Forgiveness: A Study Of Philemon', readers will learn not only the principles of forgiveness, but also how they can be applied to impact one's life and relationships. Readers will find answers and see how to piece together a beautiful picture of Godly forgiveness.

Kristi writes applicable Bible Studies. Her other works include ‘Without Regrets: A Study Of Ecclesiastes,’ ‘The Decay Within: A Study of Amos,’ and an ebook series entitled ‘The Daily Devotional Series’, which includes eleven devotionals covering multiple books in the Bible including Genesis, John, Psalm and the New Testament. Several years ago, God led Kristi Burchfiel through some difficult times in her personal life. Only by studying and applying the truths found in the Bible did she find the answers she needed to get her life back on track.  She now works daily to continue putting those truths into practice.  She is passionate about studying the Bible and invites others to share in the peace of God through the truths found in God’s word. As a Christian devotional author, she believes in living in the world while living out the Word.

"Just knowing the word of God is not enough," Burchfiel said, "we must live it out.”

In addition to writing Christian devotionals, Kristi speaks on a variety of different topics including sections from her Bible study books, devotionals, life lessons, personal testimony and the book publishing process. She has been the keynote speaker for women's conferences, led workshops during all day events, and delivered the message in worship services and Sunday School classes. She has also spoken with literacy groups and has appeared numerous times in interviews for websites, radio, and television. She also provides an online devotional for the day and other Bible tools.

Kristi Burchfiel is available for media interviews and speaking engagements. She can be reached using the information below, or by email at k_burchfiel@yahoo.com. More information is available at her website. All Kristi’s books, Christian devotionals, Bible studies for men and women and ebooks are available at Amazon.com and at her website.

Kristi Burchfiel grew up in Valley Center, Kansas and received her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee, Oklahoma. She and her husband, D Burchfiel have been married for 18 years. She resides in Wichita Kansas where D is the Campus Pastor of Summit Church.

Mediumship As A Doorway To Christ: Pat Chalfant Announces Mediumship Video Series On YouTube

Oregon Spiritualist Medium Pat Chalfant's amazing psychic gifts have helped hundreds of individuals worldwide. She is the author of 'Spirit Lights A Path To Mediumship'

Pat Chalfant, a CARE-certified medium, believes that mediumship is one doorway to Christ. She has been actively involved in mediumship for many years. She recently announced the creation of a Youtube channel, where she will offer video presentations that discuss varying aspects of meditation and mediumship and how mediumship can serve as a doorway to Christ. Pat is very much to the point on the subject, stating that “Becoming a medium was my doorway to Christ.”

Pat grew up in a very Christian family with two grandfathers who were ministers and for many years she attended Methodist church where she was very active, singing in the choir, directing children’s choirs, and for a short time even considering life as a Christian missionary.  In spite of this distinct emphasis on Christianity, she never really felt a deep connection with Christ.  Eventually, she would discover Spiritualism.  It began when she moved from the Midwest to California and, seeking peace of mind, began taking a course in meditation.

During that difficult time in her life, she meditated two or three hours a day.  She says she found the peace she sought, but she found something else, too.  After many months of this routine, one day with eyes still closed, about to end one of her daily meditations she suddenly saw tiny, sparkling white lights.

After that she saw the little lights every time she meditated.  Many months later, she opened her eyes one day after a daily meditation and the little lights were still sparkling in the air around her, as well. But that was not the end of the light’s developments, there was a further one in store for her.  Months later, the little lights began also to be colored lights as well as white ones.  The small, colored lights that flash around her occasionally have continued right up to the present to be with her throughout her life.

Many years later, when she began getting images of things that subsequently started happening in her life, she decided she should develop this beginning mediumship so she attended class in a Spiritualist church.  After she graduated and started reading regularly for people, she began to feel differently about Christ.  When she had been younger, she had felt she longed to have proof of Christ’s resurrection and his promise of life after death, but short of having been there when the stone was rolled away and when he later appeared to everyone clearly still alive, she couldn’t find any proof.

After she began receiving reports from people she was reading for that she was bringing them convincing proof of the continued existence of their loved ones after so-called death, she finally had her proof.  She began to view Christ in a different light as a result.  So it was that medium Pat Chalfant found the doorway to Christ in her life.  For her, mediumship had “rolled away the stone.”

Pat's inspirational book, 'Spirit Lights A Path To Mediumship', explains how Pat, a real skeptic regarding such matters, developed mediumship abilities and now lives a life transformed by the spiritual. Mediumship is a controversial issue and Pat understands this, but she also believes that credible mediumship holds the promise of real benefits for mankind that have not been fully explored.

In addition to offering one-on-one client consultations, Pat has penned the 'Spirit Lights Song Book' and three of those songs are in the National Spiritualist Association of Churches hymn book. There are samples of the words and music on her web site, http://www.patchalfant.com, and ‘Spirit Lights’ song books for sale there, too. She does readings for clients by phone and teaches mediumship development classes. She has also created a DVD entitled 'Spirit Lights Development DVD'.

The Youtube channel is now available at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC9qOQWIWR-DUL8hBDqE5TnQ.

Pat Chalfant is currently appearing on The Authors Show. Her interview is available now at The Authors Show site. 'Spirit Lights A Path To Mediumship' is available at her website and at Amazon. Pat is available for media interviews and can be reached using the information below or by email at pat.chalfant@patchalfant.com. She is also available for inspirational lectures. More information can be found at her website at http://www.patchalfant.com.

About Pat Chalfant:

Oregon Spiritualist Medium Pat Chalfant's amazing psychic gifts have helped hundreds of individuals worldwide. Pat has written a column on parapsychology and interviewed Hollywood stars and the psychics who read for them for a national newspaper. Other topics she’s taught and written about are: past life therapy, death and dying, the Edgar Cayce work, the Cathars, and Spiritual healing.

The Association for Past Life Research and Therapies newsletter published a series of her interviews with psychiatrists, psychologists, and hypnotherapists who were all west coast pioneers of past life therapy. Pat believes that series is destined to become a book.

She teaches internationally online and also hosts an online Spiritualist circle, Spirit Lights Chapel.

Immigration, Terrorism, Murder And English Detectives - New Crime Thriller, 'The Dance Of Dimitrios', Offers Gripping Fiction Based On Real World Current Events

Patrick Brigham is the award winning author of a number of mystery books and crime thrillers. His most recent work brings terrorism, illegal immigration and murder together in a tale featuring an English detective

Award winning author Patrick Brigham has released 'The Dance Of Dimitrios'. The new crime thriller is a riveting mystery novel that mixes a fictional English detective with real world events drawn from today's headlines.

DCI Lambert, who works for Europol, is sent to Greece in order to solve a cold case. Greece is the gateway into Europe for Middle-Eastern migrants, political refugees and terrorists. In the storyline, a woman's body found floating in a river in Northern Greece. Believed to be of Middle-Eastern origin, she is buried in a communal grave along with other Islamic victims of drowning and promptly forgotten. Surprisingly it is found that she is actually Marjory Braithwaite, an Englishwoman who has been living for some years in Greece. The British government turns to Europol for help and DCI Lambert is dispatched to Greece.

Good books on the subject of international crime are few and far between, especially mystery stories which delve into the shady side of politics. Not many mystery novelists are prepared to address arms dealing, money laundering or people trafficking. Patrick Brigham has lived in the middle of the situations he describes in his novels, as he was the Editor in Chief of The Sofia Western News, the first English Language news magazine in Bulgaria.

As a journalist Brigham knew the political players and witnessed the changes in this once hard core communist country, He knew the Communist Dictator Todor Zhivkov and his successors Zhelev and Stoyanov. Today he brings the flavor of those experiences to readers through engaging works of crime fiction.

"What seems to be a story to some, has been very real to me, as I watched reality unfold before me, and whilst governments turned a blind eye to the issue of illegal immigration," Brigham stated. "Now firmly in the media each day, back in the early 2,000s most illegal immigrants, either crept under the media radar or were ignored by the majority of self serving EU politicians. Some tried to use their public positions and scanty information to further their own trite ambitions, but mostly they ignored the problem altogether. Now that the dripping tap has become a torrent, they all sound so knowledgeable - after the event of course - but still remain unquestionably ignorant."

"I write books about this and many other often unpalatable subjects, but I surround these thorny issues with good murder mystery stories - familiar territory to most readers - but with a backdrop of political intrigue, and true crime. DCI Mike Lambert is more than your average tired and disillusioned policeman, because of the way he thinks and takes his own council. He believes in teamwork, but is also busy looking out for himself - a loose cannon perhaps - but always true to himself. In 'The Dance of Dimitrios,' we see a dedicated copper doing his job, but also a man on the cusp, looking for love and romance and finding it; something which he has never really experienced' in a lifetime of police service."

Readers have praised his novels. One stated, "I am an ex cop - he must of done a lot of research to get so many things right. I felt when reading 'Abduction' that Patrick was relating an investigation, he actually carried out." Another said, "'Abduction - An Angel Over Rimini' is an entertaining, gripping, and also an astonishing Europol procedural read, making you want to read more. I was drawn into the story right away. I felt close to Michael Lambert and his way of analysing and detecting. All relevant characters became pretty real. 'Abduction - An Angel Over Rimini' is a good read for mystery fans, readers who like surprises, and apparent coincidences."

Patrick Brigham is available for media interviews and can be reached using the information below or by email at patrick.brigham@gmail.com. Books are available at Amazon, Amazon.UK, Smashwords and at his website. More information is available at Patrick Brigham's website at http://authorpatrickbrigham.com/.

About Patrick Brigham:

Patrick has been a writer and journalist for many years. He has published many short stories, newspaper and magazine articles. Born in the English Home Counties, he attended Public School and College before moving to London and embarking on his career. Having spent the last twenty years in South Eastern Europe, many of his stories are set in this part of the world as well as in Oxford, Hampshire and Berkshire. As the Editor in Chief of the first English Language news magazine in Sofia Bulgaria, between 1995 and 2000 - and as a journalist - he witnessed the changes in this once hard core Communist Country and personally knew most of the political players, including the old Dictator Todor Zhivkov and his successors Zhelev and Stoyanov.

The Dangers Inherent In Social Media - 5 Star Rated Romantic Fiction Novel, 'Willow's Walk' Presents Romantic Fiction Storyline In A Modern Day Context

Blackwood's latest 5 star romance novel follows 'Passions In Paris', a romantic fiction novel written in the tradition of Bram Stoker's 'Dracula' and 'What Dreams May Come'

Social media sites can sometimes be wonderful places to form new relationships. They are also fraught with danger for the unsuspecting. There is no shortage of stories about relationships that began on a social media site and ended in tragedy. While most of us approach these kinds of situations with caution, that is not the case for everybody.

Rusty Blackwood uses this concept as one focal point of the storyline in 'Willow's Walk'. A mature woman / younger man relationship that begins in an Internet chat room leads to real trouble for the protagonist of the story. While romantic fiction novels featuring vampires and Scottish warriors can be interesting, they present stories based in fictional events. Blackwood instead deftly presents engaging romantic fiction story elements with events pulled from today's headlines.

"When it comes to Internet connections," Blackwood cautioned, "don't be gullible, or foolish, because you do not know what may be lurking on the other side of the screen."

'Willow's Walk', follows the release of 'Passions in Paris: Revelations Of A Lost Diary'. Her first romantic fiction book is a sweeping saga written in the tradition of Bram Stoker's 'Dracula' and 'What Dreams May Come'. It has been compared to Erich Segal's 'Love Story' and Nicholas Sparks' 'The Notebook'.

'Willow's Walk' is a gripping new tale, certain to hold readers captive from the very first page. Set in the beautiful city of Ottawa, Canada in 2003, this touching story centers on the life and times of a woman determined to prevail at all costs, regardless of what is set before her, the result of which is certain to leave the reader reeling in its wake.

The path each person walks is entirely their own. The pitfalls along that path, as well as the way in which they are dealt with are entirely up to the individual. But Willow Sutherland Crosby walks a far-different path, and with her own agenda.

Abuse, deception, intrigue, and a never ending quest for happiness and love - will she find these, or will her blind determination be her downfall?

'Willow's Walk' has received a number of 5 star reviews from professional reviewers. Maria Beltran stated, "I highly recommend this book." Gisela Dixon said, ". . . I thoroughly enjoyed reading about the life of a person presented in such a wonderful manner." Another said, "I was touched by the bittersweet conclusion that sometimes purpose and happiness are only found through great tragedy ..."

'Passions In Paris' has also received rave reviews. Linkk Kula Kane said, "Passions in Paris I think stands its ground with these other powerful romantic stories like 'The Notebook' by Nicolas Sparks." Reader Fred Pifer stated that 'Passions', " . . .is a fascinating book of a love story that seemed to be written with me in mind. In the book 'Love Story' by Erich Segal, he told of a deep abiding love story that reminds me of Cullen and Joy’s in Ms. Blackwood’s book, but the twists of intrigue and mystery that she adds keeps the reader on edge throughout."

Rusty Blackwood will be filming an installment of "What's New" for Cogeco TV, which centers on happenings and people in the Niagara area on April 25, 2016. Showdates will be announced at a later time.

Information on the new romantic fiction release, including a new book trailer, is available at Blackwood's site on the 'Willow' page. Readers can download paperback and Kindle versions of both books at Amazon sites worldwide, including Amazon.ca.

Rusty Blackwood is available for interview in the Toronto and Niagara areas and can be reached using the information below or by email at writerrusty@hotmail.ca. More information is available at her website at http://www.rusty-blackwood.com.

Cynthia Martindale, Author Of 'Graceful Last Chapters: Helping Seniors Who Need More Care' Voices Support For New NY Bill Requiring Oversight For Senior Housing

Martindale is the author of the ultimate guide to caregiving. She helps caregivers chart a clear path through caregiving challenges, options, and eventual heartbreak

Last November, 150 residents of a senior housing facility in White Plains, New York, were told they would have to leave their homes. Their complex was to be re-purposed as luxury rental apartments. Needless to say, that did not sit well with the residents. Or the media. Now, New York legislators have taken action.

Legislators have now introduced a bill that would require landlords of senior citizen rental housing units to get court approval before terminating leases. The bill was introduced by Sen. Andrea Stewart-Cousins, D-Yonkers. The Assembly version is co-sponsored by Assemblyman David Buchwald, D-White Plains, and Assemblywoman Shelley Mayer, D-Yonkers, at the urging of Westchester County Legislator Bernice Spreckman, R-Yonkers.

Cynthia Martindale, author of "Graceful Last Chapters: Helping Seniors Who Need More Care," spent much of her career as a sales and marketing director for senior living communities. She has been following the story from the start. In a recent article on the LOHUD Journal News site, written by Richard Liebson, Martindale was quoted as saying the proposed legislation "represents a huge win for the senior citizens of New York. The new bill offers court oversight for our growing senior population with specific needs for housing, support, and services. Judicial protections, such as the requirement that a senior's lease cannot be terminated except for specified cause, prohibit future Esplanade-like situations from taking place."

Martindale is a seasoned veteran of all things senior-related. In 'Graceful Last Chapters', she shares her twenty years of experience with senior care in a voice filled with compassion, understanding, and an insider's point of view. As the primary caregiver for her parents in their declining years, as a sales and marketing director for senior living communities, and as a lawyer, Ms. Martindale brings readers a valuable resource about caring for aging loved ones. The book is filled with support and guidance for caregivers, clearly defined options for care, and the ways and means for readers to craft their own successful journey through caregiving challenges and heartbreak. Ms. Martindale offers readers fundamental knowledge, hope, a sense of identity and, ultimately, a path toward peace of mind.

Martindale combines her education, business expertise, and personal experiences to bring readers a valuable resource about caring for aging loved ones. The book's twenty-seven chapters are grouped into seven sections: (One) Considering Long-Term Care Options; (Two) Caregiving Challenges; (Three) Creating a Plan; (Four) Aging in Place With Additional Care; (Five) Senior Living Communities; (Six) Touring Senior Communities; and (Seven) After the Bloom Fades. The chapters build gradually to mimic the progression of the journey caregivers take with their senior loved one, whether that individual is their mother, father, aunt, uncle, sibling, spouse, friend, or neighbor.

'Graceful Last Chapters' has achieved a perfect 5 star rating on Amazon. One reviewer stated, "It is rare to encounter such an obviously experienced counselor in the field of Senior Care as Cynthia who demonstrates on every page of this impressive and ultimately authoritarian guide such tenderness, calm and candor." Another said, "This book captures not only the practical information on choices for seniors but it deals with the tougher emotional side of caring for loved ones as they age."

“From the first article exposing the Esplanade’s plan to reposition itself as high-end apartments, it was the hidden, personal cost to its senior residents that captured my attention, Martindale stated. “The choices made by the residents -- to select the Esplanade in the first place, to move there, to call it ‘home’ -- were complex actions requiring enormous amounts of energy that is at once emotionally demanding, physically draining, and finite in supply. Then came the announcement requiring residents find a new home and vacate the Esplanade so renovations could begin; it arrived as an affront to their trust, peace of mind, and quite enjoyment of a lifestyle chosen for the supports and services they needed.”

“It may have come as a surprise to the Esplanade’s owners and landlords that the reinvention of a building could cause the fuss generated by their new plan. However, for those of us passionate about devoting time and energy to helping meet the needs, wants, and fair expectations of seniors, the fuss could not be loud enough. Introduction of New York Senate Bill #6883 is a welcome and necessary response to civic injustices incurred by residents of the Esplanade Senior Living Residence, and it represents a huge win for the senior citizens of New York.”

Cynthia Martindale is available for media interviews and can be reached using the information below or by email at cindy@martindalecopywriting.com. 'Graceful Last Chapters: Helping Seniors Who Need More Care' is available at Amazon and Barnes and Noble. More information is available at http://www.bookforcaregivers.com.

What The Afterlife Is Like - Award Winning Author Brian McLaughlin Offers A First Person Account In 'A Flight Without Wings - My Experience With Heaven'

McLaughlin's book about his NDE details his totally unique near death experience. It is raw and it's real. There is no embellishment, no preaching and no hidden agenda

What is the afterlife like? This question has plagued humanity since the beginning. That question has never really been answered because nobody has ever come back from death to tell us. Until recently. Due to advances in medical technology we now have a number of people who have returned after being declared dead. So we need only to ask them, and we'll have a definitive answer, once and for all.

Not so. For if we were to read ten books on the subject, we would end up with ten very different answers. No two descriptions seem to be the same.

Some books, like 'Saved By The Light', paint a picture that is decidedly Christian in nature. Others like 'Proof of Heaven' follow a slightly more scientific path, mixed with spirituality. Some books, written by researchers and based in hard science, offer a different explanation, explaining that the near death experience is simply created by the dying brain, or that conscious experience is still possible though the brain shows no evidence of activity. All of these contradictory positions considered, will we ever really know what the afterlife is like?

Perhaps the near death experience is different for everyone. Is it possible that an individual's NDE is based on their own unique life experience? Is there just one afterlife, one experience for all, or are there many different versions, each unique to the individual? Based on the sheer number of varying accounts, the latter is most likely true.

Brian McLaughlin's book about his near death experience, 'A Flight Without Wings', is raw and it's real. There is no embellishment and no hidden agenda. Religion is not the same as spirituality so, while his book has a spiritual flavor, there is no preaching. There is no need to prove anything to anybody. It is instead his story, just as it happened.

McLaughlin died during a trip to Mexico and experienced his own NDE.  That event changed the course of his life forever.  It instilled in him what we all seek - certainty about life after death. And with that a peace of mind that can never be shaken, nor can it be doubted. His near death experience brought a sense of clarity. It brought a sense of real, lasting peace. He now knows with certainty that we exist forever.

“Speaking to someone who has had a near death experience is likely the best way to have your questions answered," McLaughlin stated. "Eyewitness accounts, although they may vary, can give a well rounded vision of the afterlife.

Formal studies of NDEs organize the different accounts and compare the common threads and also the differences. These conclusions are generally based on talking to people who have had such an experience and were willing to share. I would guess that it is more likely than not that the vision of the event itself is influenced by a lifetime of suggestion.  Each individual has stored an expectation of what Heaven is, and that may translate into the descriptions that they share.

I tried to be very generic in my presentation, and even admitted that my pre-conceived notions of what to expect weren’t met.  That’s not to say that I found the experience lacking for fulfillment. There was more than enough to make it profound and compelling.  It just wasn’t what I envisioned, but far surpassed any benefits I anticipated.”

Brian McLaughlin was chosen as one of '50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading' in 2015. Reviews of 'A Flight Without Wings' have been overwhelmingly positive. Jack Magnus, a reviewer with Readers Favorite, call the book a "well written and moving memoir that neither delves into the fanciful or dogmatic"..."Well worth reading, and is highly recommended." Another stated, "Being a mother who lost her only child I found it to be a great comfort to me." Another said, "I have read many accounts such as these, but this beautifully written account simply touched my heart in ways that previous ones have not."

Mark Feuerstein, Actor (Royal Pains, USA Network) wrote: “I have read it and I think it’s an inspiring tale of deep insight and so personal and yet so universal . . . such profound perspective.”

Deanie Humphrys-Dunne writes captivating books that teach children valuable life lessons about tenacity and overcoming obstacles. She uses animal stories to help kids overcome challenges

Award winning children's book author Deanie Humphrys-Dunne was recently interviewed for a CT Style segment on WTNH. Deanie discussed the real-life back story that underlies the message she presents in her children's books.

Based on her own life, 'Tails of Sweetbrier' is a true story of a little girl who dreams of becoming a champion horseback rider. But this child has been diagnosed with cerebral palsy. The doctors say she will never be able to walk. What does her dad do?  He decides to teach her to ride horses.  But what might happen when things don't go well?  What happens when she falls off her horse?  Even if she prevails, she will need exactly the right horse so they can become a winning team.  This inspirational children's book shows young people that nothing is impossible if they don't quit.

Deanie has won numerous awards for her books. She was recently chosen as one of '50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading' for her story about the creation of 'Tails Of Sweetbrier'. Deanie recently received the Dragon's Loyalty Blogging award from author/ illustrator, JD Holiday. She also appeared on Holiday's radio show on Blog Talk Radio.

"In the interview," Deanie stated, "I mentioned 'Never give up on your dreams'. No one knows what you can do. The last line of Tails of Sweetbrier is, 'You have the power to make your dreams come true so reach for them and don’t accept anything less.”

Deanie believes the message that perseverance is the key to accomplishing amazing things is one that can benefit every child. Through her inspiring, real life and fictional works, children will learn that anything is possible if they refuse to give up on their dreams. Author Steven Snyder Now Featured On The Authors Show With Interview About Multi-Award Winning Military Book, 'Shot Down'

Snyder's father was shot down over Europe during WWII. He evaded capture and was missing in action for seven months. 'Shot Down' is a dramatic retelling of the story surrounding that event

Military books and books about aviation are very popular with American readers. Seldom do we encounter a military book told from multiple perspectives however. While many of these military books are well researched, very few of them are written by people who can provide us with a view from inside the story, having been there when the story unfolded. Award winning author Steve Snyder has managed to give readers just that.

Steve Snyder’s father, Howard Snyder, was a B-17 pilot stationed in England during World War II.  On February 8, 1944, his plane, the B-17 Susan Ruth (named after Snyder's daughter), was shot down over the French/Belgium border after a mission to bomb Frankfurt, Germany.

The book tells the true story of events leading up to and following that harrowing day.  Of the ten man crew, some died, some ended up in prison camps, and some evaded capture.   What makes this aviation book unique is the varied, detailed, and amazing story of what happened to each crew member, in particular Howard Snyder who evaded capture and was missing in action for seven months.

Readers are given the opportunity to read the letters and documents that were exchanged before and after the Susan Ruth was shot down. 'Shot Down' is filled with photos that enhance the presentation of these extraordinary WW II events that must never be forgotten.

"I wrote this book because the story of my father, his crew, and the many Belgian people who risked their lives to help them is so unique and so compelling that it just had to be told," Snyder stated. "Unlike other books about the air war in Europe that either tell about many crews or just one man's experience, 'Shot Down' focuses a crew of ten men while stationed in England, flying combat missions, being shot down, and their varied experiences on the ground afterwards. The entire story is written through first-hand testimony by the people who involved in the events that took place."

'Shot Down' has received numerous high profile awards:

2015 Books and Authors Book of the Year  - Winner Non-Fiction Military
2015 Next Generation Indie Book Awards - Winner Military
2015 International Book Awards - Winner History: General
2015 Readers' Favorite Book Awards - Gold Medal Winner Non-Fiction Historical

2015 Independent Author Network (IAN) Book of the Year Awards - Second Place Winner
2015 NABE Spring Pinnacle Book Achievement Awards - Best Books Military
2015 Nonfiction Book Awards - Bronze Medal
2015 eLit Awards - Gold Medal History

2014 USA Best Book Awards - Finalist History: General
2014 USA Best Book Awards - Finalist History: Military
2014 Southern California Book Festival - Honorable Mention General Non-Fiction

Reviewers have praised 'Shot Down'. Publishers Weekly stated, "This is a great introduction to the history of the U.S. air war in Europe, humanized by the experience of a single bomber crew." The European Center of Military History said, "Steve Snyder has reached a level of scholarship few amateur historians achieve." Foreword Reviews called it a "masterful book." Midwest Book Review called it "An inherently fascinating and deftly written account."

Steve Snyder is available for media interviews and speaking engagements and can be reached using the information below or by email at steve@stevesnyderauthor.com. Fantasy Fiction Author Laura Hughes Announces Free Download From Inspirational Book For Teens, 'The Sara Chronicles'

Laura Hughes produces engaging works of fantasy fiction set against a backdrop of magical worlds and richly drawn characters that teach young people to develop determination and the ability to overcome challenges

Fantasy fiction author Laura Hughes has announced a free download sample from her highly praised inspirational fantasy fiction book, 'The Sara Chronicles'.

In the tradition of 'Lord Of The Rings' and 'Harry Potter', Laura Hughes builds entire worlds peopled with heroic role models that young readers find irresistible. Hughes' characters are richly drawn and teach young people important life skills and are filled with magic, monsters, legends and high adventures.

"To begin at the beginning is the best way isn't it? And so, I start to describe myself and why I write; I write because I cannot imagine not writing," Hughes stated.  "I have a million stories swimming around in my head and I have to slow down and try to organize them in order of priority. In other words, I have to decide which story has to be told first and which ones will have to be told at a later time. But, rest assured, I will make time to put them all on paper because there is something inside me that will not let any of them die in obscurity. From the minute I began to write something inside me come alive and for the first time in a long time, I made sense. The words and me, we just fit together like a pair of slippers on tender feet. I love putting my ideas together and sharing them with other people and despite the fact that I have spent more money promoting and marketing my works than I have managed to earn so far, I couldn’t stop now if I tried. If I could spend the rest of my days filling up every spare piece of paper with meaningful words and passing them along to others, I would consider myself the most fortunate person because it’s the closest thing I can imagine to heaven on earth."

Other books in 'The Sara Chronicles' include 'Evolution Of Us - Book 2', 'The Return - Book 3', 'Chaos, Confusion and Changing Of The Guard - Book 4', 'The Great Unknown and All That Lies Beneath It - Book 5', and 'Into Darkness We Go - Up Above And Down Below - Book 6' and 'Stories New, Stories Old - Things Re-written and Things Foretold - Book 7'. Complete information on all of her adventure books for teens is available at her website.

Hughes' works have received rave reviews from readers. One stated, "A grand reading adventure for young and old alike . . .' Another said, "This book was impossible to put down . . ."

The free download from 'The Sara Chronicles' is available at Hughes' website.

Memoir Of A Hedonistic Lifestyle - Author Jack Kregas Announces New Release, 'It's All About Me And A Few Others'

Kregas gives us an inside look at what happens when one avoids responsibility and lives life to the fullest

Author Jack Kregas has announced the release of 'It's All About Me and a few others'. Good memoirs are few and far between. Great memoirs fewer still. Kregas' book lies beyond both to create what could only be called an "adventure memoir".

While the book is autobiographical in nature, it reads more like a work of fiction. From early in his life, Jack stretched the boundaries, broke the boundaries, and for all practical purposes, just ignored the boundaries. The result is a life lived to the fullest, one that the rest of us can perhaps only read or dream about.

Jack chronicles his life of hedonistic pursuits, from the Army to St. Moritz and on to Verbier in the Swiss Alps, to the Atolls of Polynesia, to Hawaii and Australia. It is a life that has been lived full of fun without responsibilities, as many ladies as possible, while having the time and some luck to start successful businesses along the way. Jack spent winters in the Alps and summers windsurfing on Maui. He eventually left Verbier for Maui to live full time with his Australian wife and small daughter.

"I wrote this book," Kregas stated, "as a document to inform my aunt as to what I had done with my life.  When I told her I would send it to her she said, 'Don’t bother. I do not want to read it'. I then made it more explicit and into a book."

'It's All About Me' has received rave reviews. One reviewer called it "the single most entertaining book I have ever read." Another said, "I would recommend to anybody to read this book as it is written in a way that we can all relate to, even if the content is beyond us mere mortals." Another stated, " . . .  if anyone wants to emulate Jack's adventures, I bet it takes you 60 years to fit it all in and this is just chapter One . . ."

"Readers will enjoy this book," Kregas concluded, “It’s escapism for the reader with many diverse and almost unbelievable adventures.”

Jack Kregas is available for media interviews and can be reached using the information below or by email at: jkregas@gmail.com 'It's All About Me' is available at Amazon and other book retailers. More information is available at his website at http://www.jackkregasbooks.com.

About Jack Kregas:

Jack Kregas was born in New England in the North East of the United States. After a stint in the US Army, he was discharged in Europe and the next forty years was spent skiing while living life to the max as well as creating several successful businesses.

After spending many winters in the Alps and summers windsurfing on Maui, Jack departed Switzerland for Maui full time with his Australian wife and small daughter. After five years he moved the family to Australia and became an Australian Citizen.

Jack now lives in Brisbane. He plays golf and travels much of the year to play in poker tournaments, his hobby of the last ten years. At present he has finished his first novel, 'Choice Cruise Lines', which is available now.  He is now working on book two of this autobiography: 'It's Not Only About Me'.

Inspirational Book Series, 'Tales2Inspire', To Make Donations To American Heart Association

'Tales2Inspire' is an ongoing series of books filled with inspiring and motivational stories compiled by Lois W. Stern

Lois W. Stern, creator of the 'Tales2Inspire' series of inspirational books, announced today that a portion of all proceeds from sales of the book series will be donated to the American Heart Association.

'Tales2Inspire' is a growing collection of anthologies of varied themes, with each book containing a compilation of stories filled with uplifting, inspiring messages compiled by author Lois W. Stern. Stern has authored some of these stories herself, but many more of them come from winners of her annual ‘Tales2Inspire’ contest.

Donating to organizations such as the American Heart Association is commendable. Stern however has a very specific reason for choosing The American Heart Association.

"With little warning, the bombshell hit," she recalled.  "My husband needed open heart surgery: quadruple bypass surgery, aortic valve replacement and ablation. He soldiered through, only to learn that X-rays showed a blood clot on his lung. He needed another surgery 24 hours later. - the surgery that nearly did him in. He actually flatlined on the gurney as they were preparing to return him to recovery. My sons and I were called together to listen to the worst possible news: it didn’t look like he was going to make it. I was in total shock, shouting at the attending physician, 'This second surgery was supposed to be simple-through-the-ribs surgery, and it killed him.' I heard code blue signals in the distant background. Little did I know that they had called together four of the most eminent surgeons from this large teaching hospital, who miraculously brought him back to life. Six years later, he is alive and well and full of energy. That is why I am contributing twenty percent of my Tales2Inspire book sale proceeds to two charities dear to my heart, The American Heart Association is one of them.”

“We are constantly bombarded with news of the three Ds: disasters, disease and death. A bit of positive energy during these often cold and unsympathetic times can go a long way to lighten and strengthen our spirits,” said Stern. “And because each story in the 'Tales2Inspire' collection is true, these books deliver exactly what they promise: inspiring stories to warm our hearts, lift our spirits and give us hope.”

Lois W. Stern has discovered that inspiring stories can be found everywhere. She continually seeks submissions by talented writers, but also keeps alert to news of unsung heroes whose fascinating stories find their way into one of her books. Each of the inspirational stories, including those submitted by Stern herself, is judged anonymously by a peer group to determine eligibility for publication. There are no fees to submit for consideration, and winning authors receive many no-charge platform-building opportunities.

New Online TV Show, 'Paint Yourself Into The Picture' To Air Beginning February 29, 2016

The new online television show features coach Reba Linker; it is offered and produced by Your Own University TV and VCN TV

A new online television show, 'Paint Yourself Into The Picture' will hit the airwaves beginning February 29, 2016. The show will be hosted by best-selling author and coach Reba Linker. The first episode features Barry Selby, professional speaker, # 1 best-selling author and relationship transformation expert.

When we look outside ourselves for what we desire, we tend to forget that our happiness comes from within. When we don’t plan our roles in the correct way, we either get run over by the momentum of the thing –  burnout – or we become scared to embark on any new project. Yet there is no need to give up our dreams and high hopes – nor should we have to.

The 'Paint Yourself Into the Picture' program is designed to help viewers create not only what they want, but also the experience that they wish  to have – how they hope to feel while moving into new areas of experience. Viewers will learn how to create a bright vision of a new life, and let that be the blueprint for moving forward.

Coach Reba says: “All our dreams are there for a reason, and all our dreams have the potential for success, the key is in the execution. It is extremely important how we go about creating our dreams into reality, in other words, how we ‘paint ourselves into the picture’ for the best and happiest results. The right kind of preparation can make all the difference.”

Coach Reba’s first guest, Barry Selby, known as the Love Doctor to his friends and clients, is a professional speaker, # 1 best-selling author and relationship transformation expert. Barry wanted to increase his business outreach to include large speaking engagements, but first he needed to learn how to "paint himself into the picture" for greater success.

As the author of a number of inspiring books, Reba’s recent bestseller, ‘Imagine Self-Love: A Journal,’ guides the reader to strengthen the relationship with the self, and see all relationships thrive. Readers say:

“Commit to the work in this journal and you’re committing to going full-steam ahead on the powerful train to self-compassion. Deep and meaningful changes ahead!”

“Looking to love you more? Reba’s book will transform your love for you. The layout of the journal, I love. Each writing prompt will help you embrace your love for you in a simple way. The action steps are easy to do and support your process. There is much to love about this book.”

The book is now expanded into an online course, "9 Self-Love Keys to Change Your Life," and it is offered for a limited time on a pay-what-you-wish basis through the Daily OM - it’s a great opportunity to dip your toes (or dive deep!) into the self-love waters!

Her ‘Little Book of Manifesting Big', gives readers the tools to practice conscious, deliberate manifesting. This inspirational book for women has received rave reviews:

“If you thought you knew everything there is to know about manifesting, think again. In this, short, sweet, powerful book Reba unleashes some gems you don’t want to miss."

“The Little Book of Manifesting Big takes on a huge topic and makes it simple, manageable and doable. In it, Reba Linker shows how we truly do create our own reality!”

“I loved loved loved it…I felt as though I were hearing these words from a good friend.”

Reba Linker is also the author of Amazon Kindle bestseller 'Follow the Yarn' available on Amazon and a children’s book, 'The Compost Heroes: A (Mostly) True Fable for Modern Times', which was endorsed by folksinger Pete Seeger, available only through her website at http://rebalinker.com/books/.

Reba is also a featured writer for Huffington Post. All of her articles can be viewed at http://www.huffingtonpost.com/reba-linker/.

Reba Linker is available for media interviews and can be reached using the information below or by email at reba@rebalinker.com. The premier episode of 'Paint Yourself Into The Picture' is available at http://www.yourownuniversity.tv. 'The Little Book of Manifesting Big', is available at Amazon.com and wherever books are sold online. More information is available at her website at http://www.RebaLinker.com.

Free Download Of Trailer From New Short Film, 'The Truth', By Dr. Barbara Becker Holstein Now Available

Dr. Holstein's award-winning books, plays and short films focus on issues that impact teens and tweens and help them develop positive self esteem. Her new short film was chosen to be screened at the Garden State Film Festival

Dr. Barbara Becker Holstein has announced a free download of the trailer for her new short film, 'The Truth'. 'The Truth' was accepted into the Garden State Film Festival. The new short film addresses issues that affect teens and tweens. While many young people struggle with these kinds of issues every day, parents, grandparents and educators may struggle just to even understand the issues involved. Many of the issues young people must face today, such as cyberbullying, did not even exist just a few year ago.

The film is based on her book, 'Secrets: Diary Of A Gutsy Tween', which was recently awarded a Silver Medal in the 2015 Moonbeam Book Awards in the Pre-Teen Fiction category.

As a Positive Psychologist, Dr. Holstein is dedicated to helping teens and tweens build self esteem. Much of her focus is on social media and how it affects young people.

In the storyline, a young girl shares her experiences, feelings and perceptions about important issues - falling in love, hating her mother, hating her parents fighting, being afraid to grow up, being upset that they may move, loving the locket her aunt gives her and feeling loved in ways by her aunt that her parents can't seem to muster, wishing the boy she is in love with would grow taller, confronting her disappointment that she has no relationship with him, sharing her glee at having a best friend and confiding in each other, coming to terms with growing up, letting go of the her first love, getting ready to move and more.

"A friend asked me, 'How does it feel as a psychologist, to now have the opportunity to see my film 'The Truth, a Short Film' accepted at the Garden State Film Festival and have your play version, 'The Locket' go into rehearsal?'

"I told her that as a psychologist it is thrilling as a lot of my life work is embedded in my two books, 'The Truth, Diary of a Gutsy Tween' and 'Secrets, Diary of a Gutsy Teen', upon which 'The Truth, A Short Film' and 'The Locket' are based.  Finally I can begin to see critical issues in growing up brought to life in film and drama.  I am particularly smitten with the notion of 'Self'.  It is critical in growing up to hold on to the best parts of ourselves and be able to access them.  It is also critical to be able to get in touch with the early wisdom  and playfulness that all of us once had. In the film version, the girl is able to find a secret way to hold on to the best of herself.  And in the play version, 'The Locket', Self actually comes alive as an imaginary but very real character, to help all of us remember our essential being.

"As a woman, seeing my work merge from the treatment room, to books, to a film and a play, all I can say is I am elated.  I hope I serve as a role model for many, many women and girls.  If I can be true to my 'Self', you can be true to your Self.  I am no different from you. There is a kid inside of you with brilliance, energy and courage.  She has stamina and determination and a sense of humor.  You just have to find her again or if you already have found her, start running and funning. The world will be better off for you sharing your talents."

"My friend laughed and said, 'You just made up a new word, 'Funning'.  I love it. I see what you mean.  No adult psychologist would think of that word. I bet the kid inside of you came up with it.'"

To celebrate inclusion in the Garden State Film Festival, Dr. Holstein has made a no charge download of the trailer of the film available at The Truth For Girls website at http://www.TheTruthForGirls.com.

Dr. Holstein's entire body of work is great for parents, grandparents, older siblings and teachers to establish lines of communication with the tweens and teens in their lives.

'The Locket' will be played at The Grange Playhouse at 4860 Rt. 9, South Howell, NJ on March 11, 12, 13, 18, 19 and 20. Tickets are $18 regular admission, $15 for seniors and students and are available by phone at 732-768-2709. Showtimes are 8pm Fridays and Saturdays, 3pm on Sundays.

'The Truth' will be shown at the Garden State Film Festival on April 1 between 3 and 5.

Dr. Holstein is available for media interviews and can be reached using the information below or by email at drbarbara@enchantedself.com. All of her works are available at Amazon, Barnes and Noble and all other online retailers. More information is available at her website at http://www.TheTruthForGirls.com.
