Children's Book Author A. J. Cosmo Leads The Way In Digital Books That Engage Kids And Teach Valuable Life Lessons

While many people believe digital book formats are not appropriate for young children, the studies may suggest otherwise. The popularity of A. J. Cosmo's Kindle books for kids demonstrate that the key is getting kids interested in reading, regardless of format

A recent article by Jeremy Greenfield on The Street website entitled 'Digital Books Really Aren't Turning Your Kids' Brains to Mush' presented some enlightening facts about the value of e-books for kids.

According to 'The ABC's of Kids & E-Reading, (a study from Play Science and Digital Book World), digital reading trends are increasing. According to the study, two-thirds of kids two to 13 read or are read from digital books. Some people delight in the news while others bemoan the perceived loss of 'old-school' print formats. Regardless of the hype, hearsay or endless bickering about print versus digital, the importance of early reading skill development, no matter the format, is of utmost urgency.

A. J. Cosmo's digital children's books are wildly successful. He is the author and illustrator of over forty children's books for the Amazon Kindle, including the best selling 'The Monster That Ate My Socks', which spent almost two years at the top of the Monster category and in the top 500 books overall. To satisfy the demand in both publishing formats, 'The Monster That Ate My Socks' is the first legitimately printed book from Thought Bubble Publishing, the newly incorporated self-publishing imprint that Cosmo formed in 2014.

"My mission," A.J. stated, "is to improve the quality of life for kids and adults by teaching important lessons, thus laying the foundation for future success in life."

All of Cosmo's stories are carefully crafted to help parents teach their children simple everyday lessons in an easy to understand manner. By artfully marrying beautiful illustrations and language, children are challenged to explore his magical worlds. Written for the transitional reader, A.J.'s stories allow children to develop and master a new level of reading.

"Format is a matter of personal preference," Cosmo concluded, "and it doesn't matter which format parents and educators prefer. What is important is that the child connects with the material and grows as a reader."

A. J. Cosmo is available for media interviews and can be reached using the information below or by email at aj@ajcosmo.com. All of Cosmo's works are available at Amazon. More information is available at his website at http://www.ajcosmo.com.

1. Remember that you too had a first crush.  It is normal developmentally and good practice emotionally to have a crush.

2. Believe your daughter when she says that she is in love.  For the moment, she is.

3. After you accept her having a crush, be there for her.  Understand that she needs to share with you lots of the details.

4. Realize but don't crush her with the knowledge that she will probably marry someone else someday.  You probably did also.

5. Take pride in knowing you have helped your daughter up the developmental ladder from being a kid to becoming a young woman.

"Use these five tips," Dr. Holstein stated, "and you will have supported your daughter as she grows, not crushed her."

Dr. Holstein's book for teens and tweens is a first in using fiction for embedding positive psychology concepts.

Her second book in The Truth Series is “Secrets: Diary Of A Gutsy Tween”. The book is scheduled for release in February of 2015.  Now the girl is 13. Michael Cupo, Author of 'It's Monday Only In Your Mind: You Are Not Your Thoughts', Reveals The Real Cause Of Addiction And The Only Method That Will End All Addiction

Michael Cupo proposes that society does not clearly address the real cause of addiction. He has an understanding that all addictions can be overcome when that real cause is addressed and understood

A recent article on AZFamily.com entitled "Heroin addict worries she will die if she can't get clean" details Bianka Fisk's struggle with addiction.  The article quotes her as saying, "The devil takes over, that's the only way I can explain it."

Michael Cupo, author of 'It's Monday Only In Your Mind' has been there and relates to this struggle. His experience has revealed, it's not the devil that makes one an addict - it's their own conditioning. He also knows the real issue that leads to a final cure is not being addressed by those in the field of addiction.

"Regardless of what occurs in one's life," Michael stated, "it doesn't make a person use drugs. It may seem as though it does, but it is only ones 'conditioned mind' that makes this appear to be so. What's happens in life happens, good, bad, or indifferent, but as one allows what happens in the past to control one in the present, a void is created and this is why the 'need' to reach for any substance occurs.

At the core of all addictions, regardless of what's used, is a self centered perspective. And until this truth is seen, one will always have the need to reach for something to satisfy this created void. This goes against what many in the addiction field believe and what is engrained in our society. This is a bold statement, but it can be backed up, this is not just idle chatter.

It is through the understanding of one's own mind that the ultimate truth of this can be revealed. This truth allows one to break free from one's self centered perspective and see that nothing is needed to fill a false, self created void. One is complete just as they are, this just isn't understood or known. This is the reality of all addictions. When this is understood the reaching ends because there is no longer a void to fill.

Without a self centered perspective, reaching for a substance or anything else wouldn't occur.  Why does the need to alter the way one feels occur in the first place? It's because of that self-centered perspective, which is at the root of any addiction. This is why one reaches outside themselves to begin with. There can't be an addiction if the need to use something isn't there.

If society really wants addiction to end we must address the real issue. Until the real problem is addressed, addiction will never end. People will continue to die and suffer because of the ignorance of those in control of the information being put out to the public. Freedom from a self centered perspective is the only truth one needs to break free from the hold of addiction. This is the freedom from the bondage of self. This one and only truth will eventually be seen and that's when the heroin epidemic and all addictions will cease.

Programs don't change people, therapy doesn't change people, an outward God doesn't change people. These may assist in some way, but the reality of any change referenced to addiction is not to be self centered. An inward quietness needs to be established, which will assist immensely in one's transformation. Some call this God, but I'm not talking about outward change, that is society's gauge. Real change takes place inside - this is where Universal Love dwells.

The truth? It is one's own conditioned mind that causes addiction. Once the conditioning is no more, one's addictive behaviors will be no more."

It is this truth that Michael Cupo offers to readers in 'It's Monday Only In Your Mind: You Are Not Your Thoughts'. He takes a very unique approach in the presentation of the method. That message has resonated with readers, many of whom have responded enthusiastically.

One reader recently stated, "Your written experience has influenced me more than any book I have read, what my M.A. in psych has taught me, 16 years of on/off therapy, Byron Katie workshops, personal interaction with Phil Lombardo, Shakti Gawain, Bob Stahl, Louise Hays and various Hay House authors that I personally know who have directed me towards my true being of love. There hasn't been a need to see my therapist for 6 weeks. I am looking forward to a new relationship with him and with myself. Thank you so much for discovering the truth and sharing it with the world. Without meeting you, I believe you are my friend."

Michael Cupo is available for speaking engagements and media interviews. He can be reached via email at michaelcupo40@gmail.com or by using  the information below. 'It's Monday Only In Your Mind: You Are Not Your Thoughts' is available on his website, Amazon and Barnes & Noble in both e book formats for Kindle and Nook. More information is available on Michael's website at http://www.mondayinyourmind.com.

About Michael Cupo:

Although he had a very good upbringing as a child, he always seemed to struggle with life and for reasons unbeknownst to him, he was always in trouble. He drank alcoholically, gambled, abused drugs and painkillers. He bounced from relationship to relationship. Until one day that all changed

The transformation is shared in 'It’s Monday Only in Your Mind: You are Not Your Thoughts'. His credentials for writing this book are that he lives this change each day. His view of life is so different from the way it use to be. Through the practice outlined in his book he has learned to allow his mind to quiet enough which has allowed his heart to open.  The quieter the mind becomes the more love becomes the default setting of ones life. This is truly a modern-day miracle, a miracle that can happen to anyone who has the desire to do what is necessary to allow this ''instant transformation" to occur.

There are also hundreds of articles written by Michael featured in a Wordpress blog, LinkedIn, Twitter, and in a Facebook group titled after his book that addresses a wide range of issues that deal with real life everyday situations. Michael writes and posts a new article daily.

Meditation Is The Path To Mediumship Says Pat Chalfant, Author Of 'Spirit Lights A Path To Mediumship'

Chalfant offers mediumship classes to help others develop mediumship in both classroom settings and via the Internet. She believes meditation is vital to the development of spirituality and mediumship. 'Spirit Lights' reveals the true face of mediumship

Pat Chalfant, author of 'Spirit Lights A Path To Mediumship', believes meditation is the path to mediumship. This was true for Pat and all of the other mediumship students she has known, including, of course those who have studied with her.  She shows in her book “Spirit Lights a Path to Mediumship” how mediumship is developed through meditation in Spiritualist development classes.  She  says that, since its inception in 1850, Spiritualism has been turning out  reliable mediums, and it was this long history with the development of mediumship that led her to study with them.  She started studying in a Spiritualist church development class after realizing that she was receiving images of events that subsequently came to pass in her life.  Since previously she had never seen any images at all, much less predictive ones, it got her attention.

After Pat had studied for half a dozen years, she began reading as well as teaching in the Spiritualist church regularly, and has also taught privately for 20 years since then both in a brick and mortar classroom and, as she currently teaches, online.  She doesn’t think that the average person is aware that mediumship requires a knowledge of meditation and believes that more people should understand that the development of spirituality is vital to mediumship and meditation is basic to that.  It is also the basis for her other primary interest, past lives, as well.

She would like to reveal the true face of mediumship and feels that nothing does that more effectively than pointing out the routine use of meditation in mediumship studies.  Mediums must constantly  attempt to improve themselves in every way, but especially spiritually, thus their emphasis on meditation.

Special attention is given to meditation at the end of each lesson in Pat’s book as well as in a long piece about meditation at the beginning of the workbook section at the back of her book.  An editor working with her on the book complained that there was ”too much God” in the book. She grudingly removed some references.

"There can never be too much God in books or in anything else in this world," Pat stated, "since the basic energy of our universe IS God."

Chalfant's new book, 'Spirit Lights A Path To Mediumship', explains how she, a real skeptic regarding such matters, developed mediumship abilities and now lives a life transformed by the spiritual. Mediumship is a controversial issue and Pat understands this, but she also believes that credible mediumship holds the promise of real benefits for mankind that have not been fully explored.

In addition to offering one-on-one client consultations, Pat has penned the 'Spirit Lights Song Book' and three of those songs are in the National Spiritualist Ass’n of Churches hymn book. She does readings for clients by phone and teaches mediumship development classes. She has also created a DVD entitled 'Spirit Lights Psychic Development DVD'.

Pat Chalfant is currently appearing on The Authors Show. Her interview is available now at The Authors Show site. 'Spirit Lights A Path To Mediumship' is available at her website and at Amazon. Pat is available for media interviews and can be reached using the information below or by email at pat.chalfant@patchalfant.com. Pat maintains a Youtube channel at http://www.youtube.com/channel/UC9qOQWIWR-DUL8hBDqE5TnQ.  More information is available at her website at http://www.patchalfant.com.

About Pat Chalfant:

Oregon Spiritualist Medium Pat Chalfant's amazing psychic gifts have helped hundreds of individuals worldwide. Pat has written a column on parapsychology and interviewed Hollywood stars and the psychics who read for them for a national newspaper. Other topics she’s taught and written about are: past life therapy, death and dying, the Edgar Cayce work, the Cathars, and Spiritual healing.

The Association for Past Life Research and Therapies newsletter published a series of her interviews with psychiatrists, psychologists, and hypnotherapists who were all west coast pioneers of past life therapy. Pat believes that series is destined to become a book.

A singer/songwriter, three of her songs are in the National Spiritualist Association of Churches hymnal. She teaches internationally online and also hosts an online Spiritualist circle, Spirit Lights Chapel.

Facetime, Selfies And Plastic Surgery - Denise Thomas, New York City Cosmetic Surgery Consultant, Offers Advice

Thomas, the world's first Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery Consultant, has appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show, CNN, The Discovery Channel, Entertainment Tonight, Fox News and in Allure, Vogue Magazine, New York Magazine, Glamour and others

It is the age of video conferencing and social media. Selfies are all the rage. Apps like Facetime allow us to connect with each other today in ways that were not possible just a few years ago. Therein lies a problem for many of us. Most of us do not like they way we appear on camera. The aversion that some of us have to being photographed transfers now to cellphones, video conferencing and apps like Skype and Facetime. What is the answer? For many, the solution is cosmetic surgery.

Denise Thomas is the world's first Cosmetic Surgery Consultant. Based in New York City, Thomas has appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show, The Discovery Channel, CNN, Fox News and Entertainment Tonight. She has been featured in Vogue Magazine, Allure, American Express Departures, Glamour and New York Magazine. While social media has had a tremendous impact in regards to the cosmetic surgery industry (many surgeons are seeing an increase in procedures due to FaceTime, Skype and selfies), this new environment has impacted Thomas' business in ways she finds very exciting.

"Clients used to mention not looking in the mirror," Thomas stated. "Now the first thing they say when calling me for a consult is, 'I looked terrible in a Selfie, and never do FaceTime, I need a face lift.' The numbers increase each week, pushing them to see a Plastic Surgeon, for those jowls and neck, and, of course, under the eyes. Plus, as we age our noses and ears grow, and FaceTime and Skype have brought this to the fore. In the beginning I thought it was just a handful of people, but no longer."

Denise helps take the worry and stress out of approaching cosmetic surgery alone and helps make it a pleasant experience. She brings 30 years of experience to the table for her clients and works with people worldwide. She can help anybody who might be considering Face Lifts, Nose Rhinoplasty, Breast Lifts, Breast Reduction, Eye Lifts, Thigh Lifts, Lipo, Ear deformities, Tummy Tucks, Botox, Juvederm, Restylane and nearly any other type of plastic or cosmetic surgery.

"It is very important to be an informed consumer," Thomas stated. "There are around 6000-7000 plastic surgeons in the US. Many physicians in other fields and even non-physicians may identify themselves as 'cosmetic surgeons' and perform cosmetic procedures. Other related specialties (namely otolargyngology, ophthomology, oral-maxillofacial surgeons) also have subspecialties which focus on plastic procedures. They will usually identify themselves as 'facial plastic' or 'occuloplastic' surgeons. If you include all of these physicians as well, there are probably around 60,000. How do you choose? Never use a doctor unless he or she is Board Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery."

"My goals," Thomas stated, "are to inform clients which doctors, only board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, have the best results (not just the best public relations firms behind them) and to help them choose the doctor most suited for their particular needs. I guide clients from beginning to end, answering all their specific questions and paving the way for them. I want to take the worry out of doing this alone and make it a pleasant experience. I work for them and, most important, I have kept my reputation for over 30 years. Referrals are available as well"

Neal Shultz, MD, Cosmetic Dermatologist based in New York City and seen on HSN, recently stated, “Denise understands plastic surgery and cosmetic dermatology from the inside out. Her experience with thousands of patients and countless physicians and her professional insights ensure great referrals to the best physicians. She’s a caring patient advocate and her clients immediately sense her deep fund of knowledge and compassion, resulting in feelings of confidence and security.”

Denise gives consultations by phone or Skype, in person and via email. She can be reached using the information below or by email at denise@denisethomas.com. More information is available at her website at http://www.DeniseThomas.com.

10 Year Old Girl Releases New Book About Rocks And Stones, 'Rocks And Stones Around The World'

The new book covers 51 rocks from 7 continents and regions and unveils fascinating and little known facts about these stones

Author Diamante Daniel is pleased to announce the release of 'Rocks And Stones Around The World'. The new book covers 51 rocks from 7 continents and regions around the world. It details little known facts about these stones and includes stories related to the stones.  Those who like books may find this one very intriguing, as the author is only 10 years old. She is right in the middle of her fourth grade. Here is what she says about herself:

"I like rocks and gemstone,” Diamante says. "I started collecting rocks when I was five years old.  I went on many rock collecting trips with my grandpa.  He wrote six books about towns and villages in the region that he lives in.  This way, he shares his love of towns and villages with people that live in his country, but he never wrote a book about rocks.  This gave me an idea.  Why can’t I write a book too?  Now I can tell everybody about my rocks and gems. Writing the book was harder than I imagined, but I kept doing it, until I finished. I started when I was nine. It took me ten months and I just turned ten. My book came out shortly after my birthday.”

"My book is about rocks and gems from all over the world.  They are organized by a continent or a region where they are mostly found. Readers can see 51 rocks and gems from seven continents and regions and 170 colored photos and pictures. They will learn where the rock names came from and the wonderful stories that are related to each of them. Do you know which rock was so valuable that the Emperor of Mongolia offered a whole city for it? Do you know which gem carried a curse so strong that it had to be split into three pieces to break the curse? Do you know which rock floats? Do you know which rocks can be found only in the United States?

“I learned a lot when working on the book.  I thought I knew a lot about rocks but it wasn’t enough information.  It was hard to find websites to get what I needed, but my sister showed me how.  I didn’t have a lot of my own pictures, but I went on Wikimedia to get pictures that other people took and they were kind enough to let me use them.  I learned how to do research and that science can be fun.”

While many adults find writing and publishing book a challenge today, Diamante had a bit of an advantage, in that her father is Rene Daniel, a successful author of a number of fantasy novels. Rene guided Diamante through the writing and publishing of 'Rocks And Stones Around The World'.  “When I finished my writing and got all the pictures I needed, he showed me how to organize and format everything into a book,” says Diamante.

'Rocks And Stones From Around The World' is available at Amazon. Questions can be directed to Rene Daniel at rene_daniel@verizon.net or to the website http://www.thothfantasyquests.com.

Dr. Barbara Becker Holstein: The Top Technology Tool For Teaching Children Self Esteem And Resiliency

While many people believe new technologies offer cutting edge solutions to educational challenges, Dr. Holstein believes the key to success lies in engaging teens and tweens at their own level

A recent article in The New York Times entitled "Silicon Valley Turns Its Eye to Education" stated that "The education technology business is chock-full of fledgling companies whose innovative ideas have not yet proved effective....". The key to effectiveness lies in the student's willingness to engage with the technology.

Dr. Barbara Becker Holstein, Positive Psychologist, Author and Educator, comments: "There is one technology that has been around for thousands of years and clearly has proved itself as an educational tool, and that is the book.  Since printed material first came available, generations upon generations of people have benefited by the educational information they have learned through the printed page. However, even books can improve in what and how they offer learning material.

We know that girls, tweens and teens need help in developing resiliency, and better self-esteem.  Can books be helpful?  Of course.  Most women who grew up reading Judy Bloom novels can attest to the fact that they not only felt attached to the characters in her books, enjoyed the plot, but also found themselves personally enhanced by the read.

When as a positive psychologist I decided to write fiction for girls, tweens and teens, I decided that creating a girl's diary where the reader can identify with the courage, resiliency, humor, talents, longings, problem solving skills, worries and successes with the protagonist would be the way to go.  The truth is my decision has worked.  Girls, tweens, teens, their moms and grand moms and teachers fall in love with the girl in The Truth, Diary of a Gutsy Tween and then love her again as she becomes a teen in Secrets, Diary of a Gutsy Teen.  Then the questions at the end of the books and space to journal, give families a chance to better communicate and understand each other."

Dr. Holstein recently released "The Truth, Diary Of A Gutsy Tween". The new book is a revised and expanded edition of her very successful book, 'The Truth: I'm a Girl, I'm Smart and I Know Everything'. The new book is published by Sky Pony Press.

A Facebook page, thetruthforgirls, highlights many of the topics woven into "The Truth".  Articles, videos, remarks, conversations, visuals, on this page center around many of the issues that tweens face growing up.  These include: self-esteem issues, quarreling in families, divorce, moving to a new home, a new school, best friends, a crush, bullies, a death in the family, money issues, not feeling pretty, feeling sad, feeling lonely, jealousy and more. Dr. Holstein's book for teens and tweens is a first in using fiction for embedding positive psychology concepts.

Her second book in The Truth Series is “Secrets: Diary Of A Gutsy Tween”. The book is scheduled for release in February of 2015.  Now the girl is 13. She handles many adolescent issues, including a crush, moving, a death in the family, feeling fat and problems with girlfriends.  'Secrets' provides a book kids and parents and grandparents can share and use as a sounding board for needed communication between the generations.

Both “The Truth” and “Secrets” are great for parents, grandparents, older siblings and teachers to establish lines of communication with the tweens and teens in their lives. Both books are being re-released by Sky Pony Press.

Laura Lynn Ashworth, Author Of 'Letters To Loretta From The Radio Shack', Now Appearing On The Authors Show

Ashworth's work gives readers an enlightening glimpse into the minds of two WWII era teens. It is a captivating story that provides a penetrating and very personal look at how young people of the time viewed the world in which they lived. The book defies categorization as it details conversations regarding war, military service, politics, music, family, love and relationships

Author Laura Lynn Ashworth is now appearing on The Authors Show. In her interview she discusses her latest work, 'Letters To Loretta From The Radio Shack, A True WWII Teenage Love Story'. Ashworth's book lets readers experience World War II, both in battle and on the home front, through the eyes of adolescents in a way that Hollywood movies have never portrayed.

The book is a dramatic tale of two teens during the final climatic years of WWII, from letters exchanged from 1943-1945. The letters are between Sal, a young radio man deciphering Morse code out of the Navy’s radio shack on a minesweeper in the Pacific and Loretta, 15, who is from his neighborhood in Chicago. Information about the minesweeper, the USS Signet and its activities at sea while Sal is aboard are also logged and include real-time descriptions of D-Day and the Battle of Okinawa.

“When I ran across these letters," Ashworth stated, "I knew I had to share them with the public for their historical significance alone, but I was also taken aback about how frankly and comically these two teens discussed such serious issues of the time and what tremendous responsibilities they had to home and country at such a young age.  Their uncanny social insights, romantic love and humor in the most dire of times was fascinating to read.”

Historical significance aside, the book is one of a kind, in that it allows modern day readers to experience directly the day-to-day thoughts, feelings, desires and insecurities of two people involved in events that changed our world forever. Readers will also get a look at how communication took place before cellphones, social media and email. Sal and Loretta discuss war, military service, politics, music, family, love and relationships. The conversations are very real, very raw and often very funny.

Ten percent of all author proceeds benefit the VFW and USO.

Laura Lynn Ashworth is available for media interviews and can be reached using the information below or by email at lauralynnashworth@gmail.com. Her interview is available at The Authors Show site and on her website. 'Letters To Loretta From The Radio Shack, A True WWII Teenage Love Story' is available in print and ebook formats at Amazon, Barnes & Noble and other e-stores. More information is available at Ashworth's website at http://www.lauralynnashworth.com.

About Laura Lynn Ashworth:

Laura Lynn Ashworth is an award-winning copywriter and political cartoonist. While helping an elderly family member with veteran’s administration paperwork, she ran across the letters and instantly knew of their rarity, freshness and historical significance. Although she received three publishing contracts within two months of sending the letters to major publishers, Ashworth decided to publish them herself on the advice of best-selling authors. She currently lives and works in a northwest suburb of Chicago.

Anthony Wright inspires recovery. Wright's dramatic story of willpower, determination and courage offers proof that anyone can self heal

2015 has begun. The start of a new year is a time of change and renewed commitment. Some of us will try to lose a few pounds or stop smoking perhaps. That will last for just a short time for many people, as many of us have a decided tendency lose our focus, forget our resolutions and give up. Giving up, especially in regards to New Year's resolutions, happens so often it has become a cliché. Anthony Wright, author of 'You Can Self Heal', serves as an example to all of us. He shows us how any challenge, regardless of severity or scope, can be overcome given dedication and commitment.

Anthony Wright's story serves as inspiration to people who face healing challenges. Wright suffered through nine operations for his brain tumors and related problems. Anthony died during one operation. Though his life was saved, he lost hearing, balance and facial nerves. He lapsed into a coma, losing more than 25Kgs body weight in the following weeks and then unable to walk.

Upon returning home he was very weak and suffered with typical brain injury symptoms - fatigue and confusion with dyslexia plus memory loss. Tony wanted his life back and developed his own self recovery plan. This was a mind and body approach which proved very successful. His book, 'You Can Self Heal' is a combination of five years in Recovery; outlining all the steps to take, it is about empowerment to get well.

"You have a full year ahead of you," Wright stated, "so now is a very good time to get fit, get active, get well and get your life back in 2015.

Tony has since formed “Recovery”, a business that provides inspiration and guidance for all those seeking to recover from major medical traumas. The concept is “You Can Self-Heal”. He also offers services to charities such as public speaking, fundraising or training to support the recovery message.

Anthony Wright is available for media interviews and can be reached using the information below or by email at anthony@anthonywrightrecovery.com. 'You Can Self Heal" is available at Amazon. About Anthony Wright:

He lost 75% of his hearing, his job, his career, his identity and his future. Today he can run two miles or walk ten. He lifts weights and plays golf (better than before, he claims). He is now a speaker, a self recovery trainer and an author of the book on self recovery.

Realistic Fiction Author Grace Mattioli Chosen As One Of '50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading'

Grace Mattioli delivers insight through story.  She writes engaging and moving tales that combine the insight and inspiration of 'The Alchemist' with the humor and quirkiness of 'A Confederacy of Dunces'

Author Grace Mattioli has been chosen as one of '50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading'. The award was the result of a public voting process and her appearance on The Authors Show in which she discussed her latest realistic fiction novel, 'Discovery of an Eagle'. The new book delves deeply into life issues but at the same time offers witty humor combined with a dash of quirkiness.

"As an Italian-American from New Jersey," Mattioli stated, "I really wanted to write a story that showed this particular subculture in a more positive light than that which is normally conveyed through the media. That is, the Grecos are neither morons nor mobsters. Rather, they're a quirky bunch of highly individualistic and intelligent characters that readers will find funny, lovable and very human."

In the story line of this humorous fiction novel, 28 year old Cosmo Greco takes his sister, Silvia, up on her offer to drive to Portland after he gets laid off from his job. This cross country story is set against the backdrop of the American road; it is filled with vivid, soulful descriptions, humor and a cast of colorful characters, such as Crazy Ted and Truck Stop Angel. Although the second book in the Greco family trilogy, 'Discovery of an Eagle' can be read as a stand-alone. Reviewers such as Kirkus and Midwest Book Review have called this work of realistic fiction a poignant and well-drawn soaring story that opens readers’ eyes to new perspectives.

"I’m delighted to be a winner of this contest as I’m confident that this will allow my new novel, 'Discovery of an Eagle', to reach more readers. Readers will enjoy the journey, fall in love with the characters and gain valuable insights from this beautifully crafted story.  As one reviewer wrote: 'Woven into this story is an important lesson that can help the reader reflect on what truly makes for a happy existence.'"

In her contemporary fiction books, Mattioli paints pictures with words. Her works are filled with vivid descriptions and her characters are extremely dimensional and unforgettable. While her realistic fiction books center around serious issues such as family relations, death and addiction, they are very humorous and fun; readers will be entertained as they gain valuable insights that they can take with them long after they have finished the last page.

Mattioli will appear in the 2014 edition of '50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading'. The book will be available in the early part of 2015.

Grace Mattioli is available for media interviews and can be reached using the information below, or by email at grace@gracemattioli.com. Author Philippa Rees Releases 'Involution - An Odyssey', An Epic Work That Redefines Reality And Reconciles God And Science

Before Wilber, Laszlo, Tolle and Sheldrake, there was 'Involution'. Rees' epic work reunites mind with matter, intellect with consciousness and man with God. It ultimately redefines reality

Author Philippa Rees has announced the US release of 'Involution - An Odyssey'. In the traditions of Homer, Dante, and Milton, author Philippa Rees has created a modern-day masterpiece; a work that covers the entire spectrum of consciousness and experience. It is a work that ultimately reconciles God and science.

To communicate her message, she developed a form of 'symphonic prose' that bypasses the brain, speaks directly to the heart and creates an experience – one that is beyond a mere reading experience. One cannot understand a symphony by reading the sheet music. One cannot understand the taste of cake by reading a recipe. Direct experience conveys direct knowledge that lies beyond mere words.

In this sense, 'Involution' is an entirely unique work, as it utilizes 'symphonic prose’ to express the ‘symphony of consciousness’ which is Creation. Each instrument (organism) has its timbre and range, and all interweave and develop the melodic themes, but the whole symphony cannot be described. It must be read and ‘heard’ (as music is), emotionally.

The Theory of Involution was first conceived in 1970, eighteen years before Rupert Sheldrake’s 'The Presence of the Past', seven years before Ken Wilber’s 'The Spectrum of Consciousness', 34 years before Laszlo wrote 'Science and the Akashic Field' and 29 years before Ekhart Tolle published 'The Power of Now'. It anticipated parts of all of these scientific or practical philosophies. It was supported by Arthur Koestler whose conception of ‘holons’ (something simultaneously a whole and a part of something larger) is built into the concept of encoding memory, which connects each organism to the total memory or Akashic field, but which affords each organism an independent integrity and the means of participation in the One, the Whole.

"I wrote this book," Rees stated, " to counter the prevailing appeal to the rational intellect alone. Instead it addresses the intuitive right brain and the heart. As Einstein said 'You cannot remedy a problem with the same thinking that created it'. Science has relied on the authority of the left brain intellect which incrementally created the division between mind and matter ( separating Man from God: the unified field of consciousness) Only the wisdom of the heart will reunite what the intellect has divided. This Odyssey is to offer a reminder of what the heart already knows, and how science chose to forget."

Reviewers have lavished praise on 'Involution':

‘A Daring Dantean feat...’ Alan Morrison. Editor The Recusant

'…A Rarity… A controversial hair-and-eye-brow-raising subject…totally insightful. Getting close to science as well as to God at the same time, that’s no mean feat'. Ervin Laszlo

'The author’s grasp of the principal elements of Western culture is masterly and her poetic narrative woven together with extraordinary subtlety'. David Lorimer, Director Scientific and Medical Network

‘…reflecting the act of genius’. Philip Franses, Editor, Holistic Science Journal.

' a marvelous, wise, unique work written with great flair and originality' Andrew Harvey

There are very good reasons for re-examining how science managed to separate mind from matter and man from God. By steady new examination of the deepening fissure between intellect and consciousness, 'Involution' re-unites what science has sundered, the interior man and his union with creation, the co-creation of the divine. 'Involution' is a journey of the mystical science  behind science.

Philippa Rees is available for media interviews and can be reached using the information below or by email at philipparees7@gmail.com.  'Involution - An Odyssey' (in both ebook and print)is available at B&N, Amazon, ibooks, Kobo and Ingram. More information is available at Philippa Rees' website at http://www.Involution-Odyssey.com.

About Philippa Rees:

Author Philippa Rees has designed and built her own home, an arts centre and concert hall and has managed to master enough of the cello to play string quartets with her daughters, one a professional violinist. In the 80's she lectured at Bristol University on genius, the science behind Involution, which now has been nominated 'Runner-up Book of the Year (2013) by the Scientific and Medical Network. Her short stories have won awards at Narrative Magazine where one was recently awarded one of the top five stories of the year, and recorded talks and articles have been commissioned  on Involution 'The Book that Wrote the Life'. She lives in her DIY built barns in Somerset, UK.

How To Create Success As An Indie Publisher - Dr. Barbara Becker Holstein Offers 3 Important Tips

While not so for traditionally published authors, marketing continues to be a major challenge for self published authors. Dr. Barbara Becker Holstein has been down both paths and offers tips on Authors And Technology

Self publishing continues to grow by leaps and bounds. Nevertheless only a small percentage of self published authors experience success in marketing their works. Dr. Barbara Becker Holstein, internationally known Positive Psychologist and author has been both self published and traditionally published by publishing houses such as Rutledge and Sky Pony Press. She recently offered some important guidance on the Authors and Technology website.

"Authors of self-published books often deceive themselves," Dr. Holstein stated, "by making a number of mistakes in their thinking. There are many fallacies surrounding book marketing. The Big Three are:

1. Believing that telling friends and family about one's latest book or even giving them a copy will create a tidal wave of interest in one's book.

2. Believing that getting endorsements or reviews from those we know, like a sister or a tennis partner will help sales.

3. Believing that your book is unique and that will make a real difference."

What are the facts?

"Telling family and friends about the book? The truth is we usually just end up being annoying and loved ones can't wait until we stop talking about the new book."

"Reviews from family and friends? In truth reviews can be helpful if written from the heart - by strangers.  Of course the more famous that stranger might be, the better.  How hard is it to get to a famous stranger who might take the time to endorse or review your book? Have you seen the movie 'WILD'?  About as hard as traveling the Pacific Crest Trail with a heavy pack on your back."

"Believing a book is unique? The truth is most books are not unique.  In fact, your book may have been inspired by books already in print, or perhaps has already been written by someone much more famous. Do you recognize the book, 'Recipes for Enchantment, The Secret Ingredient is YOU!'? by Barbara Becker Holstein. No? I'm shocked. But I bet you recognize Chicken Soup for the Soul, Book 1, Book 2, etc.  by Jack Canfield."

"What is an self-published author to do?  Crawl under a rock?  Absolutely not.  Books are wonderful.  Each has a message. They heal, they teach, they entertain, they fill a void in our lives, making us laugh and cry and having the courage to carry on.  The solution is to understand what works and what doesn't in the marketing of a book."

"Though we should tell others about our work, the people we want to tell about our work are those who have already decided they want to buy that type of book. This involves understanding one's target audience and understanding what they perceive to be their needs. Concentrate the effort on getting real reviews, unpaid reviews, from credible reviewers. And while most books are not unique, every target audience is unique. If your message to that target audience demonstrates you understand their needs, you will be much more likely to create sales."

Dr. Holstein's pathfinder book ‘The Enchanted Self, A Positive Therapy’ was published in 1997 by Harwood Academic Publishers and is now in its second printing through Brunner-Routledge. Her second book ‘Recipes for Enchantment, The Secret Ingredient is YOU’ has received rave reviews as a wonderful inspirational story book. ‘DELIGHT’, Dr. Holstein’s third book is available in two versions, paperback and a CD-rom that includes music, art, and Dr. Holstein’s voice. Tales2Inspire Now Accepting New Submissions From Authors For Publication In 2015

'Tales2Inspire' is a collection of inspirational, motivational and uplifting stories submitted by authors from across the globe. Developed by Lois W. Stern, 'Tales2Inspire' gives authors an opportunity to reach a worldwide audience and establish themselves as authors of talent

Lois W. Stern, developer of each of the 'Tales2Inspire' collections, has announced that new submissions by authors are now being accepted for the 2015 editions of the book. 'Tales2Inspire' is a collection of anthologies of varied themes, with each book containing a compilation of stories filled with inspiring messages, compiled by Stern.

For a change of pace, the next 'Tales2Inspire' book will be a collection of humorous, non-fiction stories, but other themes, all listed on the Tales2Inspire website, are also being accepted at this time. Inspiring stories can be found everywhere. ‘Tales2Inspire' presents the best of these types of stories in a series of compilations.Inspiring and motivational stories submitted are chosen by a peer group of authors to determine eligibility for publication and awards. There are no fees to submit stories and winning authors receive many no-charge, platform building opportunities.

“It is no secret that many talented writers and seasoned authors alike remain undiscovered," Stern stated. Tales2Inspire™ provides the best-of-the-best with an opportunity to get one compelling story published, and start them on the road to several strong branding and platform building opportunities. I don’t like using the work ‘unique’ but Tales2Inspire is truly unlike any other writer’s contest. First, there is no submission fee. Then, even after the awards are announced, I continue to work with the author of a ‘tale’ which shows exceptional promise. I do not charge for any of these services because I am committed to the ideal of 'Authors Helping Authors'. Of course there is something in it for me too as I get first rights to publication of each winning ‘tale’."

The benefits of being a contributing author to 'Tales2Inspire' include, but are not limited to:

* Author's story published in a respected book collection

* Author’s headshot photo and mini-biography published inside the book

* Author’s full color photo and name on the back cover of the book

* Name listed on Amazon.com as a contributing author

* Story highlighted on the Winning Tales Blog page, the Tales2Inspire Facebook page, selected LinkedIn, Pinterest, Twitter and other social media groups

* Story featured in the Inspiring Stories monthly newsletter, distributed to hundreds of subscribers, on a rotating basis throughout the years.

* Opportunities for free and low cost promotions on the Tales2Inspire Spotlight page, the YouTube Winning Tales Channel, media releases, personal bookmarks to match author’s story, and much more.

* Discounted prices for bulk orders (ten or more books, mix or match titles.)

Lois W. Stern is available for media interviews and multi-media presentations and can be reached using the information below or by email at tales2inspire@optimum.net. Full details are available on the 'Tales2Inspire' website at http://www.Tales2Inspire.com.

She has put those same talents to work in creating the ‘Tales2Inspire ’“Authors Helping Authors” project/contest and working to encourage and nurture the skills of each of her participating authors. Since she initiated this project in 2012, Lois has published four Tales2Inspire books: The Emerald Collection (Beyond Coincidence’ stories), The Topaz Collection  (Stories of ‘Awakenings & Aha Moments’) The Sapphire Collection (Stories that ‘Echo in the Mind’). and the Ruby Collection (‘Gifts of Compassion’ Stories). Award Winning Children's Book Author Donna McDine Encourages Charity Book Donations

McDine is a very successful author of children's books who strives to ignite curiosity in children through reading. She strongly encourages all children's book authors to get involved in donating children's books to local charities

Numerous studies from both government and the private sector provide clear evidence that early reading skills are an investment in a child's future. Early reading skill development dramatically affects the quality of life for children as they grow into adulthood. Sadly, a recent article by Carole Dickerson on the Journal Standard website quoted a local social worker who stated that many of the parents in the homes she visits do not own a single children's book.

Award-winning children's book author Donna McDine finds that situation to be appalling. In response, she has announced that she will be donating books locally in the Tappan, NY area and intends to promote a children’s book charity drive within her community. She encourages other authors of children's books of any appropriate genre to do the same.

"The bare essence of learning to read opens up the world of exploration to a child," McDine stated. "Across the curriculumn it is imperative children grow in their reading capability so success in their classes can be had. Without the fundamentals it is very difficult to progress successfully."

A multi-award winning author, Donna McDine has produced four early reader children’s picture books: 'A Sandy Grave', 'Powder Monkey', 'Hockey Agony' and 'The Golden Pathway'. A fifth book is in the pipeline with Guardian Angel Publishing. McDine's awards include, but are not limited to:

Purple Dragonfly Book 2014 Awards 1st Place Picture Books 6 and Older for 'A Sandy Grave'
Readers Favorite 2012 International Book Awards Honorable Mention Children K-3rd General for 'The Golden Pathway'
Literary Classics 2011 Silver Award Recipient Picture Book Early Reader for 'The Golden Pathway'
78th Annual Writer’s Digest Writing Competition – Honorable Mention – Children’s/Young Adult Fiction category for 'The Hockey Agony'
77th Annual Writer’s Digest Writing Competition – Honorable Mention – Children’s/Young Adult Fiction category for 'The Golden Pathway'

and many more.

Donna is sharply aware of the need to promote literacy and to ignite the natural curiosity of children. She spends a great deal of time involved in school visits throughout her local region in New York and all over the USA via Skype. She also offers no-charge educators guides for three of her books and a number of activity guides. These guides help lead educators to develop lesson plans focused on a wide variety of subjects including Language Arts, Social Studies, Math, Science, Health and Astronomy.

"I believe in ‘paying it forward’,"McDine concluded. "That one book donation may be all it takes to make a diffierence in a child’s life. By encouraging the love of reading in our young muses their look of wonder as they bubble with excitement on their next reading journey swells my heart."

Donna McDine is available for media interviews and classroom visits. She can be reached using the information below or by email at donna@donnamcdine.com. McDine's books are available at major online retailers such as Amazon, Barnes and Noble and Indiebound. For autograph copies visit http://www.donnamcdine.com/donnasbooks.html. More information, including information for educators, is available at her website at http://www.DonnaMcDine.com.

About Donna McDine:

Multi award-winning children’s author, Donna McDine’s creative side laid dormant for many years until her desire to write sparked in 2007. With four early reader children’s picture books to her credit, A Sandy Grave (January 2014), Powder Monkey (May 2013), Hockey Agony (January 2013) and The Golden Pathway (August 2010) and a fifth book in the publishing pipeline with Guardian Angel Publishing her adventures continue as she ignites the curiosity of children through reading. Author Michael Cupo Chosen As One Of '50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading' For 'It's Monday Only In Your Mind: You Are Not Your Thoughts'

Anxiety, depression and a host of other ailments are the target of a host of self improvement books. According to most of those books, there are specific approaches to overcome each of these challenges. Michael Cupo's work instead declares that not some, but all negative states can be overcome using a single approach

Author Michael Cupo has been chosen as one of '50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading'. His honors came as the result of an appearance on The Authors Show in which he discussed his latest self improvement book, 'It's Monday Only In Your Mind: You Are Not Your Thoughts'.

The new self improvement book takes a different approach than most other books in the self improvement genre. While these books take a constricted view, carefully limited to solving very specific problems one at a time, Michael instead takes an all-encompassing approach.

According to Michael, every unwanted state is caused by a common problem - the underlying conditioned thought pattern. Learning to control one's thoughts leads one naturally to the underlying cause of the undesired state. Michael's approach, while simple, is a very powerful approach that works.

"I am honored to have my book 'It's Monday Only in Your Mind: You Are Not Thoughts' awarded to be in the top 50 books that should be read in 2015," Michael stated. 'The Authors Show has been a very rewarding experience in bringing my book more exposure. I think the impact this award will have on bringing my book more exposure will be seen for years to come."

Michael's approach can lead to a state of instant transformation. He is not a researcher or psychologist. He is instead a man who has been there. He drank, gambled, abused drugs and bounced from relationship to relationship. Even after he overcame his addictions in 1987, those troubles stopped, but his self-centered behavior never changed. Instead he substituted one compulsion for another. Although his addictions became more respectable — taking the form of material possessions — he was still trapped, migrating restlessly from one obsession to another. Then his life changed — instantly, not magically, but profoundly when he came to the realization that 'The only way one's life will ever change is when the conditioning that makes it so changes'.

It is this method he offers to readers.

The transformation is shared in It’s Monday Only in Your Mind: You are Not Your Thoughts'.
