Welcoming Middle Eastern Refugees Will Restore Confidence In US Says Frances Fuller, Triple Award Winning Author Of 'In Borrowed Houses'

Fuller spent many years in the Middle East. She puts a face on the Middle East many Americans have not yet seen. Her award-winning memoir, 'In Borrowed Houses', gives readers a penetrating glimpse of the Middle East from the inside

A recent article on the CNN Politics website by Ted Barrett entitled "Senate Democrats block Syrian refugee bill" reported that Democrats blocked a bill that would curb the flow of Middle Eastern refugees to the US.  In effect this decision by the US Senate was a vote to uphold President Obama's plan to accept refugees. Like the Senate, the American public is split into two camps on this issue. Frances Fuller, award winning author of 'In Borrowed Houses' believes this move will help improve relationships with the Middle East, as hospitality is an important cultural value throughout the region. In an Arab village the failure of one family to receive a stranger or offer water or shelter to one in need, brings shame on the whole community, while hospitality honors both the host and the guest.

"Right now a lot of people in the Middle East see the U.S. as responsible, directly or indirectly, for the chaos in their region. They see that we depose leaders for our own reasons.  They observe that we talk about democracy but try to impose our will on other nations. They know that we torture and humiliate prisoners of war like everybody else.  And if we now refuse to offer a home to desperate refugees, we have not only deserted our founding principles, which they know well, but we have dishonored ourselves in the world community.  This would be the final proof that we cannot be trusted. In fact, harsh words from our politicians on this subject are already creating a negative impression of who we are.

“By showing kindness now, making a way for displaced families to have a home and giving their children hope for the future, we will recover some of our lost image and begin creating a path to peace.”

Frances puts a face on the Middle East many Americans have not yet seen. Her award-winning memoir, 'In Borrowed Houses', gives readers a penetrating glimpse of the Middle East from the inside. Fuller spent many years as a Christian publisher in Lebanon during the Lebanon civil war. As the result of her time and experience there, Fuller wrote an award-winning book entitled 'In Borrowed Houses'.

Told in short episodes, Fuller’s book reveals the alienation, confusion and courage of civilians in the Lebanese civil war, introducing to the reader a variety of real people with whom the author interacts: editors, salesmen, neighbors, refugees, soldiers, missionaries, lawyers, shepherds, artists, students. With these people she works, studies, plays games, prays, laughs and cries, all to the accompaniment of gunfire. Together these small stories tell what war is like for civilians caught on a battlefield, and they create the impression of the Lebanese as a fun-loving, witty, patient and resilient people. Fuller's stories compose not a political history, but a historical document of a time and a place.

Critics have praised ‘In Borrowed Houses.’ A judge in the 22nd Annual Writer’s Digest Self-Published Book Awards called 'In Borrowed Houses' “ . . a well written book full of compassion . . . a captivating story . . . ”. Another reviewer described the book as “Wise, honest, sensitive, funny, heart-wrenching . . .”. Colin Chapman, lecturer in Islamic Studies at the Near East School of Theology in Beirut said, “ . . . western Christians and Middle Eastern Christians need to read this story…full of remarkable perceptiveness and genuine hope.”

Frances Fuller is available for media interviews and can be reached using the information below or by email at frances0516@att.net. Fuller's book is available at Amazon and other book retailers. A free ebook sample from 'In Borrowed Houses' is available at http://www.payhip.com/francesfuller. Frances Fuller also blogs on issues relating to the Middle East on her website at http://www.inborrowedhouseslebanon.com.

New Short Film, 'The Truth', By Dr. Barbara Becker Holstein, Chosen To Be Screened At 14th Annual Garden State Film Festival

Dr. Holstein's award-winning books, plays and short films focus on issues that impact teens and tweens and help them develop positive self esteem

Dr. Barbara Becker Holstein's new short film, 'The Truth', has been accepted into the Garden State Film Festival. The new short film addresses issues that teens and tweens must contend with every day. While teens and tweens struggle with these issues, parents, grandparents and educators may struggle just to understand the issues involved. 'The Truth' is based on her book, 'Secrets: Diary Of A Gutsy Tween', just awarded a Silver Medal in the 2015 Moonbeam Book Awards in the Pre-Teen Fiction category. As a Positive Psychologist, Dr. Holstein is dedicated to helping teens and tweens build self esteem. Much of her focus is on social media and how it affects young people.

In the film, a young girl shares her experiences, feelings and perceptions about important issues - falling in love, hating her mother, hating her parents fighting, being afraid to grow up, being upset that they may move, loving the locket her aunt gives her and feeling loved in ways by her aunt that her parents can't seem to muster, wishing the boy she is in love with would grow taller, confronting her disappointment that she has no relationship with him, sharing her glee at having a best friend and confiding in each other, coming to terms with growing up, letting go of the her first love, getting ready to move and more.

"The film world is catching up with an understanding of how we need the power and beliefs in ourselves that we often have as children. I call that power  #THE ENCHANTED SELF(R)," Dr. Holstein stated.  "What do I mean by that?  Simply that if we disregard the child within us we forfeit a lot of happiness and success.  We may even bring on depression.  #TheEnchantedSelf is the sense of well-being and happiness that exists when we are true to our authentic selves.  And that always includes our early dreams, ambitions, successes, and frustrations.  It is within the energy system of the child that the exuberance for life starts.  And hopefully it doesn't stop, but it may, if we don't respect our own preferences, interests, talents, and potential."

"Two films clearly bring up #TheEnchantedSelf.  'Joy' is the real life story of a woman (played by #Jennifer Lawrence, who is up for an #AcademyAward for best actress) who's energy to become the person she is meant to be lies so clearly in the little girl that she was. The child who was inventive and creative. Even though that part of her was pushed aside by her parents divorcing and all sorts of other life problems, that girl was still there hidden inside of her.  If that girl couldn't come out, she would have remained a very frustrated adult.  As Joy says in the film, 'I can't let my family take me down.'  And as an aside, millions of us wouldn't have a mop that could be wrung out without dirtying our hands."

"The other film is my short film,#'The Truth'. It is an #Official Selection at the #Garden State Film Festival! As a psychologist, turned author, turned playwright and now turned producer, director and script writer, it is such a treat for me to show my first film at GSFF - having lived and worked in New Jersey for so many years and consider the state my home."

"What is most important about this film is that 'The Truth' reflects #TheEnchantedSelf.  The young girl, played by Cassidy Terracciano, has all the angst of moving from childhood to adolescence that most of us have had: a disappointing crush, a move to a new town, questions about growing up, family issues, father needing a new job, etc. She also deals with issues we never had to face.  For example, she keeps her diary in a journal and also makes her own Selfie versions of her diary entries that she videos of herself on her phone.  There are lots of potential problems there, such as what will she do with those videos?  Will they go on to social media sites? Will they be erased? Do her parents know?"

"Yet, she finds a way to take into the next part of her life, the best of herself.  It is a secret way that she knows she can't share with her family, but that doesn't matter.  It gives her the courage to be herself and hold on to the most precious aspects of herself."

"My dream is that 'The Truth' like 'Joy' will influence and remind us all to rediscover who we really are by remembering the power of our own dreams and aspirations. And if we are parents or teachers we will support and guide the kids in our lives so that their dreams are not crushed."

According to the Garden State Film Festival's website, "The Garden State Film Festival was founded to promote the art of filmmaking on all levels by showcasing a wide variety of film, video and animated works as well as provide educational programs in the creative arts to the public by industry leaders." The philosophy of GFFF "is rooted in the celebration of the independent film genre and the creation of a forum where local and other independent filmmakers can exhibit their work. It was also created to pay tribute to New Jersey’s legacy as the birthplace of the American filmmaking industry in Thomas Edison’s Menlo Park laboratories where he invented the first film cameras and projectors, to Fort Lee, where the original studios were founded.  Our event provides novice and aspiring filmmakers, actors, and others interested in careers in the film business, the opportunity to meet and network with industry professionals in an atmosphere conducive to learning and mentoring."

Dr. Holstein's entire body of work is great for parents, grandparents, older siblings and teachers to establish lines of communication with the tweens and teens in their lives.

The 14th Annual Garden State Film Festival 2016 will be held in Atlantic City, NJ, March 31–April 3, 2016.

Immigration, Deportation And The Appeal Of Democracy - Author David Palladino Reminds Us Of The Inspirational Value Of Freedom

David Michael Palladino writes inspirational fiction for young readers. His works teach important ideals and values. He utilizes engaging works of fiction to accomplish that goal

In a recent article on the International Business Times website it was noted that many churches in the United States are attempting to offer asylum to people President Obama has targeted for deportation. The article stated that "at least 250 churches" contacted Church World Service (CWS) about "joining the 300 congregations that were already playing active sanctuary roles."

Immigration is top of mind with American voters today. Politicians use the topic as means to divide voters and garner votes. As a result, the citizenry of the United States has fractured into a number of camps. All the candidates - Hillary Clinton, Donald Trump, Ted Cruz  - have taken clear cut positions on immigration.

Immigration today is multifaceted. In years gone by, immigration took place to escape persecution or perhaps to establish havens of religious freedom. Today there is an economic component as many immigrants see an opportunity to improve their economic status. While many feel the US should provide a haven for anyone, this is perhaps not always the case.

Prior generations immigrated for one primary reason - freedom. While today we can all take sides, voice opinions and argue endlessly about immigration, (legal or otherwise), the one idea we cannot argue about is freedom, for freedom is the most basic of human rights.

Escape from Soviet Communism and the quest for freedom is the theme of 'Quest For Freedom' by David Michael Palladino. Set in the Cold War era, it is the story of the beautiful Romanian, Adriana Corderu, and her quest to obtain freedom by escaping the Iron Curtain.

Palladino produces inspirational fiction for young readers. His works teach important ideals and values. As a former U.S. Army Ranger, former High School Phys-Ed & Health Teacher and Coach, and founder of “Palladino Martial Arts”, he understands the significance of instilling these all-important ideals and values in young people. He utilizes engaging works of fiction as the backdrop to accomplish that goal. This work will be especially appealing to parents, grandparents and educators. And it is  pertinent today in light of the world situation. While Americans often see only one side of the issue, that issue is much larger than many in the US imagine.

During the Cold War the world revolved around the conflict between the theologies of communism and democracy. The two main protagonists in this conflict were the United States in the West and the Soviet Union in the East. As Eastern Bloc leaders began to tighten restrictions in the lives of their people, commensurate with their increase in power, there began to emerge, in the East, a group of young people, hard and idealistic, adventurous and courageous. These would become the heroes of the movement of their time. These were the brave young souls who, with inspiration from President Reagan, began to break down the Iron Curtain.

"I wrote the book," Palladino stated, “to help restore America's 'Spirit Of Victory'. The main character, Adriana, is the classic example of what the human spirit can accomplish when it is inspired. When readers are exposed to Adriana’s story they may start to believe in their dreams again."

'Quest for Freedom' has received rave reviews. One reviewer stated, "More native born Americans need to know this story and more importantly appreciate our country as she did." Another said, "The readers become engrossed immediately in Palladino's dynamic effervescent style."

David Palladino is available for media interviews and can be reached using the information below or by email at inspirationalbookauthor@yahoo.com. 'Adriana Corderu, Quest for Freedom' is available at Amazon, Barnes and Noble and Rosedog Books. More information including samples of the book are available at Palladino's website at http://www.inspirationalbookauthor.com.

Award Winning Children's Book Author Deanie Humphrys-Dunne Uses Animal Stories To Help Kids Learn To Overcome Challenges

Deanie Humphrys-Dunne writes captivating books that teach children valuable life lessons about tenacity and overcoming obstacles

To capture and hold a child's attention long enough to teach something of value is a real challenge. Nothing does that more effectively than a story about animals.  While many children's books do that in a fictional setting, children's book author Deanie Humphrys-Dunne writes engaging books that teach valuable life lessons that are based in fact.

Deanie has won numerous awards for her books. She was recently chosen as one of '50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading' for her story about the creation of 'Tails Of Sweetbrier'. 'Tails Of Sweetbrier' also received honorable mention in the Young Adult Nonfiction category of the Purple Dragonfly Book Awards. The book took the Silver Medal in the Feathered Quill Book Awards in the Juvenile/YA Nonfiction category in 2014 and it was one of five finalists in the CLIPPA Awards in the 3rd - 4th Grade category. Deanie recently received the Dragon's Loyalty Blogging award from author/ illustrator, JD Holiday. She also appeared on Holiday's radio show on Blog Talk Radio.

Based on her own life, 'Tails of Sweetbrier' is a true story of a little girl who dreams of becoming a champion horseback rider. But this child has been diagnosed with cerebral palsy. The doctors say she will never be able to walk. What does her dad do?  He decides to teach her to ride horses.  But what might happen when things don't go well?  What happens when she falls off her horse?  Even if she prevails, she will need exactly the right horse so they can become a winning team.  This inspirational children's book shows young people that nothing is impossible if they don't quit.

"The purpose of Tails of Sweetbrier is to encourage every child to follow his/her dreams," Deanie stated. "This message would benefit every child. The journey a child takes by reading this story will show that perseverance is the key to success. The closing statement of the book is: 'You have the power to make your dreams come true so reach for them and don’t accept anything less.”

Deanie believes the message that perseverance is the key to accomplishing amazing things is one that can benefit every child. Through her inspiring, real life and fictional works, children will learn that anything is possible if they refuse to give up on their dreams. Through her works, children are reminded that tenacity is the key to success. They will see proof that obstacles can be overcome and that quitting only guarantees failure.

Deanie wants to be a positive influence to children. She loves to write entertaining animal stories that emphasize important values such as; never giving up, setting goals, and working together to realize great things. Other books written by Deanie include ‘Charlene The Star’, ‘Charlene The Star And Hattie's Heroes’, ‘Charlie The Horse’ and 'Charlene The Star And Bentley Bulldog.’

Two new videos have been created for her books. These videos can be accessed at Youtube at https://youtu.be/tT5zBYieZbo and at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rba4hkmmTyc&feature=youtu.be.

A Republic The Founding Fathers Never Imagined - Darwyn Hassert's 'Patriotism From An American Pulpit' Offers Clarity For A Fractured Political Process

Hassert's work clearly demonstrates that the Founding Fathers used the Bible as a political textbook to create the greatest country in the history of the world

Name any presidential candidate today - Donald Trump, Hillary Clinton, Jeb Bush, Bernie Sanders - and what comes immediately to mind? Scandals. Hypocrisy. The latest comical insult perhaps.

Sadly, most of us have come to believe that every member of Congress is in the back pocket of more than one lobbying special interest group. The government seems to be in an endless state of party bickering, filibusters and deadlock, unable to agree on anything.

The American citizen hears carefully crafted phrases and endless platitudes from those in positions of power.  But we know that nearly every one of those words have been carefully crafted by a crack PR team whose goal is to appeal to a specific slice of a special voting demographic. More and more Americans feel duped and many have simply thrown up their hands and walked away from the political process entirely.

The political system in America has been fractured into a thousand pieces, driven by greed, special interests and the need to be politically correct. There is no clear cut direction. There no longer appears to be any common goals. If it were not so sad and depressing, it would be comical. But it wasn't always this way. Once upon a time, the government of the United States had a clear direction and common goals.

In the eyes of Darwyn Hassert, a study of American history reveals that the Founding Fathers took the Bible as a political textbook and founded our Constitutional Republic. The result is that America became the greatest country in world history. The thirteen chapters in his latest Christian book, “Patriotism from an American Pulpit”, reveal some of the rich legacy that the Founding Fathers gave to us and are taken from patriotic sermons that the author preached as a pastor.

"I wrote this book because so many Americans are not aware of the rich legacy of liberty the Founding Fathers have given to us.  Therefore, they have a difficult time deciding what political candidates are best qualified to perpetuate our Constitutional Republic.  I believe my book will help Americans recognize the type of leaders our country needs.”

As further proof, Hassert offers quotes from both historians and the Founding Fathers:

"It is relevant…to note the prominence of biblical sources for American political thought, since it was highly influential in our political tradition, and is not always given the attention it deserves." - (Lutz, 1980)

“The highest glory of the American Revolution was this: it connected, in one indissoluble bond, the principles of civil government with the principles of Christianity.” - John Quincy Adams

“To the Pulpit, the PURITAN PULPIT, we owe the moral force which won our independence.” - John Wingate Thornton

“In those days politics were preached in the pulpits, and men were led to action on the side of freedom by faithful pastors.” - Benson Lossing

“The religion which has introduced civil liberty, is the religion of Christ and his apostles….and to this we owe our free constitutions of government.” - Noah Webster

Darwyn Hassert is available for media interviews and can be reached using the information below or by email at dkhassert@comcast.net. “Patriotism From An America Pulpit” is available from Amazon. More information is available at Hassert's website at http://www.patrioticpastor.com.

About Darwyn Hassert:

Darwyn Hassert is an ordained minister. He has been a student of American History since the 6th grade. He regularly preached patriotic sermons on special occasions like Memorial Day, July 4th, and the Sundays before election days. At other times he delivered these messages to inspire and inform his congregation about the principles of Liberty.  He often used historical events to illustrate Biblical truths in his sermons.

Canadian Indie author Rusty Blackwood, author of 'Passions In Paris', has announced the upcoming schedule of events surrounding the recent release of her new 5 star romantic fiction novel, 'Willow's Walk'.

On January 21, 2016 an in depth Interview and Book Feature for Willow's Walk will appear on The Indie View at www.theindieview.com.

On February 1st, Blackwood will be reading and discussing Willow's Walk from 3 - 4 pm with the Thorold Chapter of The Writer's Forum, Thorold Library, 14 Ormond Street N., Thorold, Ontario.

On Wednesday, February 3rd, she will be sitting on a romance panel entitled 'Love in the Afternoon' at the Niagara Falls Library at 4848 Victoria Avenue, Niagara Falls, Ontario.

On Saturday, February 6th, from 11 am - 4 pm, Blackwood will be at The 4th Annual Ladies Day, at St. David's Anglican Church, 369 Thorold Rd. W., Welland, Ontario.

'Willow's Walk', follows the release of 'Passions in Paris: Revelations Of A Lost Diary'. Her first romantic fiction book is a sweeping saga written in the tradition of Bram Stoker's 'Dracula' and 'What Dreams May Come'. It has been compared to Erich Segal's 'Love Story' and Nicholas Sparks' 'The Notebook'.

'Willow's Walk' is a gripping new tale, certain to hold readers captive from the very first page. Set in the beautiful city of Ottawa, Canada in 2003, this touching story centers on the life and times of a woman determined to prevail at all costs, regardless of what is set before her, the result of which is certain to leave the reader reeling in its wake.

The path each person walks is entirely their own. The pitfalls along that path, as well as the way in which they are dealt with are entirely up to the individual. But Willow Sutherland Crosby walks a far-different path, and with her own agenda.

Abuse, deception, intrigue, and a never ending quest for happiness and love - will she find these, or will her blind determination be her downfall?

"I am really looking forward to these upcoming events," stated Rusty enthusiastically. "Each one is of itself by way of activity, each contains a different audience, and all assist in not only broadening my scope as a writer and indie author, but they provide informative outlets for my reading audience to gain awareness of 'Willow', as well as further insight into my work,  and why I've chosen the path I have. These venues are the very first in the launch for this new title, and I look forward to future ones just as much as these. I am extremely proud of 'Willow's Walk' and the touching story it tells. I hope it will help its audience to better understand the often over-looked perils of the Internet, and the heartbreaking circumstances a woman alone often faces."

'Willow's Walk' has received a number of 5 star reviews from professional reviewers. Maria Beltran stated, "I highly recommend this book." Gisela Dixon said, ". . . I thoroughly enjoyed reading about the life of a person presented in such a wonderful manner."

'Passions In Paris' has also received rave reviews. Linkk Kula Kane said, "Passions in Paris I think stands its ground with these other powerful romantic stories like 'The Notebook' by Nicolas Sparks." Reader Fred Pifer stated that 'Passions', " . . .is a fascinating book of a love story that seemed to be written with me in mind. In the book 'Love Story' by Erich Segal, he told of a deep abiding love story that reminds me of Cullen and Joy’s in Ms. Blackwood’s book, but the twists of intrigue and mystery that she adds keeps the reader on edge throughout."

Information on the new romantic fiction release, including a new book trailer, is available at Blackwood's site on the 'Willow' page. Readers can download paperback and Kindle versions of both books at Amazon sites worldwide, including Amazon.ca.

The Ultimate Guide To Planning For Senior Care - Author Cynthia Neher Martindale's 'Graceful Last Chapters', Offers Fundamental Knowledge And Hope To Senior Caregivers

Martindale's latest book is an invaluable resource that helps caregivers chart a clear path through caregiving challenges, options, and eventual heartbreak

A recent article on the CBS New York website, reported by Brian Conybeare, presented a story that graphically illustrates the plight that many seniors face in regards to the senior housing issue. In White Plains, NY, the residents of a senior living complex are being ordered to move out, as the owner intends to convert their housing units into luxury apartments. Needless to say the residents are not pleased, some even going so far as to say the forced move was "destroying them and their families." While the owner of the complex has made it clear that no one will be homeless, offering housing in temporary rooms in another building across the street, this does little to satisfy some of the residents who consider this to be their "last stop".

Certainly the decision to enter a senior housing facility is a good plan for some people. However, even the best laid plans can go awry. What do we do then? In regards to planning for senior care, it would not be possible to plan for every conceivable scenario. The key to peace of mind is to have a plan that accounts for every likely possibility. That is not only possible - it is necessary. But people new to caregiving for seniors are overwhelmed with options. There are too many choices - most of them difficult and confusing. First time senior caregivers are often overwhelmed.

Cynthia Neher Martindale, author of 'Graceful Last Chapters: Helping Seniors Who Need More Care', is a veteran of all things senior-related. In 'Graceful Last Chapters', she shares her twenty years of experience with senior care in a voice filled with compassion, understanding, and an insider's point of view. As the primary caregiver for her parents in their declining years, as a sales and marketing director for senior living communities, and as a lawyer, Ms. Martindale brings readers a valuable resource about caring for aging loved ones. The book is filled with support and guidance for caregivers, clearly defined options for care, and the ways and means for readers to craft their own successful journey through caregiving challenges and heartbreak. Ms. Martindale offers readers fundamental knowledge, hope, a sense of identity and, ultimately, a path toward peace of mind.

"Reader's first response to the sudden closing of New York's Esplanade Senior Living Residence will likely be outrage and empathy for residents and their family members,” Martindale stated. “After all, each senior's personal journey to choose the Esplanade as their new home was complex and exhausting in itself.  There were discussions and decision making, touring options, downsizing, packing, moving, adjustments, making new friends and, hopefully, eventually, significant pleasure.  And now they have to do it all over again?  The relocating residents and their families can expect some difficult days ahead, but could this situation have been prevented?  The answer is yes.”

Martindale cautions, “As a shopping consumer of adult care communities, always be certain the facility is appropriately licensed by the state's Department of Health.  Certification verifies adult care facilities meet regulatory standards for personal care and supervision. Ideally the license will be prominently displayed in a public area of the community, but if not, ask to see it.  If the community is not licensed, and the Esplanade was not, the risk is unacceptable. Senior living residents may always be disappointed by the occasional surprise change in management, personnel, or programming that disappoint, but the situation at the Esplanade is a different animal altogether.  The blame is clearly on the Esplanade for failure to comply with the law, but always remember, caveat emptor -- buyer beware."

Martindale combines her education, business expertise, and personal experiences to bring readers a valuable resource about caring for aging loved ones. [Her academic accomplishments include degrees from Hillsdale College (B.A. in English), Northern Illinois University (M.A. in English), and Valparaiso University School of Law (J.D.).] 'Graceful Last Chapters: Helping Seniors Who Need More Care' is the result of her years as both a sales and marketing director for senior living communities and as the primary caregiver for her parents.

The book's twenty-seven chapters are grouped into seven sections: (One) Considering Long-Term Care Options; (Two) Caregiving Challenges; (Three) Creating a Plan; (Four) Aging in Place With Additional Care; (Five) Senior Living Communities; (Six) Touring Senior Communities; and (Seven) After the Bloom Fades. The chapters build gradually to mimic the progression of the journey caregivers take with their senior loved one, whether that individual is their mother, father, aunt, uncle, sibling, spouse, friend, or neighbor.

'Graceful Last Chapters' has achieved a perfect 5 star rating on Amazon. One reviewer stated, "It is rare to encounter such an obviously experienced counselor in the field of Senior Care as Cynthia who demonstrates on every page of this impressive and ultimately authoritarian guide such tenderness, calm and candor." Another said, "This book captures not only the practical information on choices for seniors but it deals with the tougher emotional side of caring for loved ones as they age."

'Graceful Last Chapters: Helping Seniors Who Need More Care' is available at Amazon and Barnes and Noble. More information is available at http://www.bookforcaregivers.com.

David Broderick, Author Of ‘'The Christ Centered Life'’ Chosen As One Of '50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading'

David Broderick was chosen from a field of hundreds of authors who appeared on The Authors Show Radio in 2015. His book, 'The Christ-Centered Life: Deep Calls To Deep' is both simple and yet profound. It is that heaven is the presence of Christ — a presence that can be experienced right here, right now

David Broderick, author of ''The Christ Centered Life' has been chosen as a winner in the '50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading' Awards. Winners will appear in this years edition of the book. Broderick was chosen as the result of his appearance on The Authors Show Radio. He was chosen through a public voting process.

Many sincere Christians are frustrated.  Happiness and Heaven seem too far away in time and out of reach. Heaven is not a place and it is not in the future. Heaven is the presence of Christ -- a presence that can be experienced right here, right now. David Broderick starts from the point where others finish and leads readers to the same goal, following a path that is deeper and more real. He makes the path to Christ-centeredness available to everyone, right here, right now. Christ is for now, not just for heaven.

“I wrote the book to bring Christ-centeredness to a wider audience than was ever going to be possible through speaking at individual churches or meetings. I am delighted to have been chosen as a winner for the ’50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading’ award and I am very grateful for the many people who voted for me. It is a great honor to be a winner of the award and I am very pleased that the book will reach a wider audience as a result.”

Unlike many other Christian books, ‘The Christ Centered Life: Deep Calls To Deep’ shows how to begin the journey to becoming Christ-centered and then how to daily live life from the Christ-centered worldview. This is a radically different way to live than many Christians have experienced.

The book is deep but practical in pointing the way to Christ-centered living. It contains no theological language and is for everyone who wants to know Christ in a deeper way. Depth of relationship with Christ is for everyone.

The starting point of the book is both simple and yet profound. It is that heaven is the presence of Christ — a presence that can be experienced right here, right now. The book begins from the point where others often finish and it leads readers to the goal of a continual lifestyle of intimacy with Christ, but it follows a path that is deeper and more real.

David Broderick is available for media interviews and can be reached using the information below or by email at davidbroderick7@talktalk.net. All of his books are available at Amazon. More information is available at Broderick's website at http://www.thechrist-centeredlife.com.

Skepticism About The Near Death Experience - Brian McLaughlin, Award-Winning Author Of 'A Flight Without Wings', Offers A Simple Explanation

McLaughlin's book about NDE's details his amazing near death experience. It is raw and it's real. There is no embellishment, no theology and no hidden agenda

A recent article on The Blaze website by Billy Hallowell addressed the skepticism surrounding near death experiences. John Burke, a self professed skeptic, investigated 1000 near death experiences after reading Raymond Moody's 'Life after Life'.  As mentioned in the article, one in 25 people in the United States claimed to have had near death experiences.  Burke, an engineer with an analytical mind, came to the conclusion that the sheer number of these occurrences could perhaps eliminate the possibility that they are made up or might be anomalies.

Near death experiences do not favor any particular group, religion or culture. NDE's are been experienced by people across all cultures and time periods regardless of religious belief, affiliation, age or gender. Yet the skepticism remains.

Brian McLaughlin, award-winning author of 'A Flight Without Wings', understands the skepticism surrounding NDE's. McLaughlin died during a trip to Mexico and experienced his own NDE.  That event changed the course of his life.  While the near death experience was the farthest thing from his mind at the time, that single event instilled in him what we all seek - peace of mind.  It is a peace of mind that can never be shaken, nor can it be doubted. What most of us would perceive to be a tragedy instead offered him the gift of going beyond mere belief to a state of certainty. His near death experience brought a sense of clarity. It brought a sense of real, lasting peace. He now knows with certainty that we exist forever.

“Until I wrote a book about NDE  that shares my own death experience, I too was skeptical. Trying not to be too wordy, I think one major obstacle in trying to help people overcome the skepticism on a book about NDE is the inability to accurately describe the event. There is nothing here in our lives to compare it to… no adjectives… very hard to describe profound peace, etc.  Almost as difficult to explain some of the heightened senses that follow after returning. I simply wrote a book explaining  what I saw and felt when I died and how returning affected my life. Many questions left unanswered should you exclude spirituality or religion, however unstructured, from the equation.

I really don’t think it matters all that much what you call this sort of place. What matters is that you believe in it, and gather some comfort from believing. Most eyewitness accounts in a book about NDEs can offer some measure of validation to the reader. Should you be the type that needs ‘proof’, then you may be in for a long process with little satisfaction to be ultimately realized, inasmuch as this subject presents only what some consider circumstantial evidence of proof.  You  may find some discovery if you look in the grey area where science and religion/spirituality overlap.  It’s a place where many of us find our belief systems.”

Brian McLaughlin was chosen as one of '50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading' in 2015. Reviews of 'A Flight Without Wings' have been overwhelmingly positive. One stated, "Being a mother who lost her only child I found it to be a great comfort to me." Another said, "I have read many accounts such as these, but this beautifully written account simply touched my heart in ways that previous ones have not."

Mark Feuerstein, Actor (Royal Pains, USA Network) wrote: “I have read it and I think it’s an inspiring tale of deep insight and so personal and yet so universal . . . such profound perspective.”

Brian McLaughlin is available for media interviews and can be reached using the information below or by email at bamplaya@msn.com. 'A Flight Without Wings' is available at Amazon, Payhip and other book retailers. More information is available on his website at: http://www.BrianMcLaughlinBooks.com.

Award Winning Historical Fiction Author Rosemary Gard Announces Release Of 'Destiny Delivered', Fourth In 'Destiny' Series

In the tradition of writers such as Ernest Hemingway and Boris Pasternak, Rosemary Gard writes powerful and compelling works of fiction based in reality

Award winning historical fiction author Rosemary Gard has announced the release of 'Destiny Delivered', the fourth novel in her 'Destiny' series.

In the tradition of writers such as Ernest Hemingway and Boris Pasternak, Rosemary Gard writes powerful and compelling works of fiction based in reality. Her works feature richly drawn fictional characters, drawn upon a canvas of historical fact. Unlike other writers, Rosemary lived among the people upon which those characters are built. She has lived the life of a peasant in Croatia in the late 50's. She lived for a time in Italy and was a guest in Venezuela. She grew up speaking a number of Slavic languages, learned Italian later and was Croatian Queen during the Gary, IN Golden Jubilee celebration.

Rosemary's books give readers a first person account regarding the lives of their ancestors - drawing water from a well, washing clothes in a stream, sleeping on a straw mattress, cooking on a clay stove, and working in the fields. Her works are filled with passion for her characters, written with an intimate knowledge of a different time and a sharp eye for historical accuracy, centered on the Croatian people.

"The 'Destiny' books are very personal to me," Gard stated. "I knew and cared for the people I write about. Croatian characters from my childhood and old friends of my parents, who told outrageous stories of their lives back home in the Old Country. I used stories of family secrets, death and danger in my books. I was able to spend three months in a village outside of Zagreb. I slept on a straw mattress, walked on a dirt floor and ate food cooked on a clay stove. I observed how devoted these people were to their family and to the land they planted for their food. I learned about their many strong superstitions. I hope readers will find interesting facts about how their grandparents and even their parents lived in the villages, specifically about political events in Europe and the loss of land that forced so many of them to migrate to America, often as indentured workers. In the early 1900’s America needed hard working laborers to build up the country. Working as steel workers and miners gave men money to send home or save to bring their families to the US."

In this fourth book of the Destiny series, 'Destiny Delivered',  more immigrants are coming to Gary, Indiana. Stevo Markovich finds himself making room for relatives of his deceased wife who arrive unannounced disrupting his life with the problems they bring with them. He is greatly saddened by the death of his wife and others. He feels lonely and is disinterested in his successful business. He seeks a change.

Thoughts of his life as an immigrant fisherman and dreams of his father draw him back to New Orleans, where he lived in his teenage years.

At his family home in New Orleans, he discovers his family is gone. Stevo finds the city rich with history and interesting people. He discovers a friend, money, a new business, and what promises to be a happy life. This historical fiction book is filled with adventure, love, loss, triumph and intrigue. The novel also addresses the unpredictable turns in life which some call destiny and how it plays a crucial part in shaping our lives. Readers learn about the life of immigrants in America and the problems they face in a new county.

All the books in the 'Destiny' series have won awards and high praise from reviewers. 'Destiny Denied' took the Gold Medal in Readers' Favorite 2013 International Book Awards. One reviewer stated, "I wouldn't be surprised if Katya's DESTINY journey winds up in a mini series or in a movie." Another said, "Destiny's Dowry does indeed transport the reader to a different time and place, to the European world of our ancestors."

Rosemary Gard is available for media interviews and can be reached using the information below or by email at rosemarygard@gmail.com. All of the novels in the 'Destiny' series are available at Amazon, Barnes and Noble and other fine booksellers. More information, including samples of her work, is available at her website at http://www.rosemarygard.com.

Award Winning Author Frances Fuller Announces Second '50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading' Award, New Writing Project For Stories About the Middle East

Fuller spent many years in the Middle East. She puts a face on the Middle East many Americans have not yet seen. Her award-winning memoir, 'In Borrowed Houses', gives readers a penetrating glimpse of the Middle East from the inside

Frances Fuller, author of 'In Borrowed Houses', has been chosen as a winner in the '50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading Awards' for the second year in a row. In addition, she has announced a new outlet for stories about the Middle East and invites the public to participate by submitting stories that illustrate the culture and values of the people.

"My fans are the best," Fuller stated. "They are always ready to claim that I told a great story or that I enlightened them or that I said what they felt when they couldn’t find the words. Because of their loyalty, I have been a winner two years in a row.

With their encouragement I have decided to launch a new writing project in which anyone with a story to tell about the Middle East can pass it on through my website. Middle Easterners in their own countries, Americans who have lived or spent time in the Middle East, and immigrants to the U.S. are all invited.  Of course, I must reserve the right to choose and to edit stories, so I will explain my goals.

What I am trying to do is to present the human face of the Middle East, so I want stories about interesting people, memorable characters, especially stories that illustrate the culture and values of the people.  My readers will love stories that reveal how the people of the Middle East are just like us, and they will also love stories about how they are different. It takes all kinds of stories to bring out the whole truth, so any small story could be important.

Send your stories to me: frances0516@att.net. Please include your name and how you wish to be identified."

Critics have praised ‘In Borrowed Houses.’ A judge in the 22nd Annual Writer’s Digest Self-Published Book Awards called 'In Borrowed Houses' “ . . a well written book full of compassion . . . a captivating story . . . ”. Another reviewer described the book as “Wise, honest, sensitive, funny, heart-wrenching . . .”. Book Marketing Announcements: The Authors Show Lineup For The Week Of January 4, 2015

Book Marketing serves as a resource for authors and allows members to engage in promotion and publicity for marketing purposes. The site offers no-charge marketing training, book publicity opportunities and a buyers club for book marketing services

Don McCauley of the Free Publicity Focus Group and Danielle Hampson, Executive Producer of The Authors Show, founders of The Authors Marketing Powerhouse, have announced The Authors Show radio and broadcast schedule for the week of January 4, 2015. The new show schedule is available at the Authors Marketing Powerhouse site.

For those who hope to sell books on the Internet, the challenge can be daunting. It can be confusing difficult, time consuming and expensive. Book Marketing, branded as The Authors Marketing Powerhouse, helps authors overcome these challenges by providing authors and publishers three distinct benefits:

* No charge publicity - members can upload photos, bios, book covers, video and book videos. Each author can develop a personalized page and a personal blog. The site allows for integration with Facebook and Twitter.

* No charge marketing training - provided through the Book Marketing Master Class series of training videos and peer to peer sharing of information.

* Buyers club - low pricing on products and services used by authors and publishers to market books allows members to dramatically reduce book production and book marketing costs.

The site also offers discussion forums, segmented special interest groups and allows for event listings.  The site is a joint collaboration, developed by Don McCauley of the Free Publicity Focus Group and Danielle Hampson, Executive Producer of The Authors Show.

The Authors Show radio shows offer professionally produced radio interviews that are broadcast worldwide. Segmented shows by genre include fiction, non-fiction and Christian shows. The upcoming scheduled radio lineups include:
