Author Steve Snyder's Military Aviation Book, 'Shot Down’, Chosen As Book Of The Year By OnlineBookClub

Steve Snyder, author of ‘Shot Down’, has announced that 'Shot Down' has been named Book of the Year by OnlineBookClub.org. Snyder's book qualified for the award by having earned a perfect 4/4 rating from a top level member of the official OnlineBookClub.org Review Team. 'Shot Down' is the story of Snyder's father, who was shot down in a B17 bomber, the 'Susan Ruth', over Europe during WWII. He evaded capture and was missing in action for seven months.

The hardcover version of 'Shot Down' has more than 200 time period photographs of the people who were involved and the places where their stories took place. The eBook has 24 photos. The book also contains letters and documents that were exchanged before and after the Susan Ruth was shot down. February 8 - A softcover edition of 'Shot Down' was released today on the 73rd anniversary of Snyder's father's plane, the B-17 Susan Ruth, being shot down on February 8, 1944.

February 5 - Book signing at the National Museum of the Mighty Eighth Air Force on Super Museum Sunday in Savannah, Georgia

February 11 - PowerPoint presentation at the 100th Bomb Group Reunion of the 8th Air Force at the Palm Springs Air Museum in Palm Springs, California

February 15 - 'Shot Down' was part of a display for the grand opening of Heroes Hall in Costa Mesa, California, a veterans museum housed in a re-furbished WW II barracks at what was the Santa Ana Army Air Base (SAAAB).

Steve Snyder retired from VSP in 2009 after 36 years in national sales and sales management, He began his quest to know everything possible about the World War II experiences of his father, pilot Howard Snyder, and his crew of the B-17 Susan Ruth.  Gradually, it became his passion and resulted in 'Shot Down'. He belongs to numerous World War II associations and is president of the 306th Bomb Group Historical Association.
