New How To Book for Coaches And Parents Of Young Athletes, Creating A Season To Remember, By Former Major League Baseball Player And Youth Coach Jack Perconte

Jack Perconte provides a step-by-step guide for parents and coaches, sharing his experience as a Major League player and his expertise as a 28-year youth coach.

Major League Baseball veteran Jack Perconte provides a step-by-step guide for parents and coaches, sharing his experience as a major league player and his expertise as a 28-year coach in his latest book, 'Creating A Season To Remember: The New Youth-Sports-Coaching Leadership Handbook.'

The new book provides the concepts that have proven to be successful in both his professional baseball career and in his job as a youth sports coach of 28 years. The book provides tips for coaches of all sports, whether it be youth baseball, little league, football, basketball, soccer or any other sport.  It is filled with forward-thinking tools, techniques, and strategies that will help develop skills for the players, and will bring the enjoyment of the game back to coaches, players and parents. The ideas presented will help limit the number of unfortunate events and misunderstandings that occur in youth sports.

"I wrote this book after having been on all sides of the youth sports spectrum – a player, coach, and parent of young athletes. I realized that coaches could do so much more to make a positive difference in the lives of not only youth but with their parents, too. The time has come to change the current youth sports narrative and to give coaches the means to be the role models they set out to be.”

The new coaching book has received a number of positive reviews. Bill Vasko, college coach, said, "Coach Perconte has developed some tremendous ideas in this handbook that will certainly help coaches at all levels." Publishers Weekly, the definitive professional resource for book publishing, stated, "Perconte, who coaches softball and baseball, has written a thoughtful guide for the 'countless kindhearted people' who are trying to coach and inspire athletes . . . . This is a valuable resource for parents and coaches of youth sports."

A reviewer for Readers Favorite stated, "Creating a Season to Remember is a big book with lots of information to be absorbed, but the effort is well worth the reward. This is a reference book that should be on every coach and parent’s shelf; anyone who cares about youth sports will benefit from it. Creating a Season to Remember is most highly recommended." Another said the book, "is an insightful book for all readers, especially athletes, as it enables them to develop the same passion for athletic competition while learning virtues such as character, teamwork, resilience, and discipline. The author’s experience as a coach for 28 years at a variety of levels sets the tone for this book.

Jack's first book, 'The Making of a Hitter: A Proven and Practical Step-by-Step Baseball Guide' offers tips for every level of player, from little league to the major leagues. It shows players how to hit and also shows parents and coaches how to teach hitting. Presenting techniques drawn from the author's years of experience as a coach and a Major League baseball player, the manual provides an in-depth description of the drills, habits, and lessons critical to a productive future. In addition to providing highly detailed instruction on the fundamentals, the guide reveals how to develop a good mental approach and confidence in every hitter.

His second book, 'Raising An Athlete: How to Instill Confidence, Build Skills and Inspire a Love of Sport,' provides parents and coaches insights into how to deal with the challenges and pitfalls that arise as children progress in sports. From handling the inevitable tears and frustrations and honing the appropriate message for varying age ranges and skill levels to recognizing the real performance enhancers and how to keep burnout at bay, the book emphasizes integrity, hard work, and practice as well as the importance of teamwork, sportsmanship, and leadership in players. It offers advice on using humor to relieve stress, overcoming adversity, and how to handle troublesome coaches.
