Books For Book Clubs: Richard McMaster's Bestselling Thriller Novel, The Attic, Will Be Available At No Charge In Ebook Form February 4 and 5, 2026

McMaster creates a rich tapestry of human emotion and intrigue in a masterfully crafted novel for fans of character-driven psychological thrillers. It is a profoundly moving novel that masterfully blends elements of drama, romance, and suspense.

Bestselling author Richard McMaster has announced the ebook version of his thriller novel, 'The Attic', will be available February 4 and 5, 2026 at no charge at Amazon at https://www.amazon.com/stores/Richard-McMaster/author/B01LDIJ2QU?.

'The Attic' has achieved bestseller status in both contemporary fiction and psychology thriller categories and would be a perfect addition to any book club's list, as the story can provide a variety of interpretations and insights. The book's structure, character development, and overall message lends itself to engaging and stimulating intellectual activity and discussion.

Fans of psychological thrillers will find themselves captivated by the book as McMaster masterfully combines heart-pounding suspense with beautifully crafted characters that possess complex motivations and rich backstories. The novel's emotional depth draws readers in, allowing them to become emotionally invested in the lives of the characters. The intricate plot requires close attention to detail and careful piecing together of clues, heightening the anxiety and tension with each turn of the page. McMaster's skillful storytelling keeps readers on the edge of their seats, ensuring that "The Attic" is a memorable and thrilling experience from start to finish.

One of the principal characters in 'The Attic', Sybie, was fashioned after a real high school classmate of the author who suffered from a rare genetic disorder. Some students called her Tic Toc because of the way she walked with her brace. Years later she meets Byron, a former classmate. She is a changed woman. They marry, but tragedy strikes before they can even enjoy a honeymoon. When Byron faces assault charges and a lawsuit, he flees to Chicago to assume a fake identity and new image. He takes a low-level computer support job with an international investment banking company where he discovers the CEO has embezzled over 26 million dollars.

When Byron Kelly becomes a whistleblower on the run from the FBI, he hides in the attic of a dying old man, Henry Steel. Byron cares for the old man and learns he is estranged from his daughter over the death of her mother, his wife, because of family secrets he has kept from her.

In a story about Richard McMaster, printed by The Hudson Weekly, Dennis Keller said, "There have been multiple authors that have made a significant contribution to the world of literacy. In the current era, we have come across several first-time authors with the gift of writing. Richard McMaster is an accomplished author wsdhose works have been praised for their depth, complexity, and emotional resonance."

Keller continued with "Richard McMaster never falls into the trap of presenting his characters as simplistic archetypes or caricatures, instead allowing them to emerge as fully-formed individuals with their unique voices and perspectives.

"In addition to his skillful characterization, he is also a master of plot and pacing. The structure of his novels keeps readers engaged and invested in the story while also allowing for moments of quiet reflection and contemplation. The author’s writing is often described as 'page-turning' or 'gripping,' but it is also imbued with a sense of thoughtfulness and depth that elevates his work beyond mere genre fiction."

One reviewer said, “Absolutely loved this book. I don’t want to give anything away, but this was the best book I have read in a long time. Haven’t done anything else for the last 24 hours. Just wonderful!”

Another reviewer commented, "You wrote a novel about a man with a past so messy, he literally hides in a stranger’s attic while trying to do the right thing. It’s emotional. Unconventional. Thoughtful. There’s rare disease rep, ethical drama, and a wildly underrated whistleblower story wrapped in quiet literary suspense."

Other books by Richard McMaster include his bestselling historical fiction novel, 'Aaron's War', which details the struggles of a Jewish soldier's experience in WWII. It explores coming-of-age, antisemitism, forbidden marriage, PTSD, and substance abuse, resulting in a powerful story that takes the reader's breath away with its dramatic tale of love, bravery, and sacrifice.

Aaron Vanko, an innocent Iowa farm boy, faces the ultimate test that countless veterans have grappled with throughout history: the harrowing decision to take another's life in the name of duty.

But just as Aaron prepares to embark on this mission, a stunning revelation threatens to upend his entire world: he learns of his Jewish heritage, a discovery that shatters his sense of identity and his relationship with the love of his life.

Despite his fears, Aaron moves ahead, fueled by an unwavering sense of duty and patriotism. But now, he must wage war on two fronts - battling the enemy outside who seek to eradicate the Jewish race, and the inner with ethical dilemma that rages within his own soul.

Aaron is taken on an unforgettable journey of self-discovery, courage, and sacrifice, as he confronts the darkest corners of human nature and emerges forever changed.

Readers and reviewers have praised 'Aaron's War'. USA Today bestselling author Holly Roberts called Aarons War, "A coming of age story that grips your soul and takes you on a thought-provoking journey." Tom Porter, author of All I Need To Know About Business I Learned From A Duck stated, "An engaging, informative and thought-provoking tale of survival, love and faith. Make room for Richard McMaster on your list of up-and-coming authors." Lynn M. Safris said, “The descriptions and details given throughout this author's writing draw the reader into each page, making Aaron's journey feel like their own. I believe this book would appeal to a wide audience of readers. I truly enjoyed reading Aaron's War and I highly recommend this book."

Another of his books, 'Voyage Of Life,' is an exploration of overcoming obstacles that leaves readers deeply moved and inspired. It is a must-read for anyone seeking an inspirational journey through the lens of the "Baby Boomer" generation. A captivating love story, 'Voyage Of Life' captures the essence of the coming-of-age 60's with a twist, as the story is told as Thomas Cole’s Voyage of Life paintings are portrayed by the women woman Sean Buchanan loves; childhood, youth, manhood, and old age. The paintings are a metaphor for Sean’s life—the verdant landscape and calm waters of childhood turn turbulent in youth, and then early in manhood, the rocky shores of manhood open to a promising sky of old age when he believes that his one true love left him for another man.

The breathtaking story also unfolds mysteries around losing a father, mother, wife, son, and friends and Sean’s perseverance in life and, in the end, reuniting with his first love.

McMaster considers Voyage of Life to be one of his signature works. Readers and reviewers agree.

One reader’s review stated, “While reading, you will smile, you will hesitate thinking, oh no, and you will cry, but there is a surprise toward the end. This is one of the best romantic books I have read.”

He is also the author of 'A Love Divided By Time', described as "one part The Notebook, one part suspenseful psychopath story, and one part Somewhere in Time." In that book, Forrest and Allie believed they found love in a previous life and being born again was a game of hide-and-seek to find each other in plain sight, seeking their better halves, united and whole. When tragedy strikes, Forrest makes a pact to find her killer, raise their daughter and find peace by joining her in the ever after.

Bestselling Literary Fiction Ebook, Water Drumming In The Soul By Author Eric Madeen, Will Be Available At No Charge January 31 Through February 1 At Amazon

Madeen is a Senior Associate Professor of Modern Literature at Tokyo City University and Lecturer at Keio University. He writes cross-genre and has penned a number of Amazon bestsellers.

'Water Drumming In The Soul', Eric Madeen's bestselling work of literary fiction based on his travels in Africa, will be available at no charge in ebook form January 31 through February 1 at Amazon at https://www.amazon.com/stores/Eric-Madeen/author/B08VGRNJVW?.

In 'Water Drumming In The Soul' Eric Madeen, a former Peace Corps volunteer, senior associate professor of literature, empath and Amazon multi-bestselling literary writer, takes a much-needed step back from the AI zeitgeist.

According to Duke University's Literature Department founder, director and professor, the late Fredric Jameson and his seminal book Postmodernism, or, The Cultural Logic of Late Capitalism, full postmodernism is described therein as when the artificial becomes so prevalent that there's nothing natural to compare it to. Relevant here is Ridley Scott's pathbreaking movie Blade Runner.

While the above serves as contrast, so the following cannot be construed as reductive, Madeen’s novel is a crucial step back to Romanticism. It realizes the soul in a love story that is rollicking and vibrant from the beginning. When Peace Corps volunteer David Fields is set to enter an equatorial African village for the first time to begin his project, he gets sidetracked by a stunning African lady water drumming, playing a stream as a drum while singing gloriously. She is from the outset a magnet for David who becomes the hunter captured by the game. And what a riveting game of love it is.

Throughout the novel their love proves to be so rollicking and thrilling that at its heart wrenching ending readers feel the story thrumming in their soul. And with the endings' multiplicity of interpretations, it verifies the truism of what masterful novelist of Lolita fame Vladimir Nabokov said of the finest art, that it is not simple and sincere but rather deceitful and complex.

Like wunderkind best-seller Paul Theroux, Eric Madeen will always think of himself as a Peace Corps volunteer, one who, just after graduating from the University of Arizona, constructed in Francophone Gabon, Africa a primary school complex in an equatorial village surrounded by rainforest … where he got lost for three days while hunting monkeys for the cooking pot … and where notably he fell in love, giving his first novel, 'Water Drumming in the Soul' a vigorous fictional reality.

Readers and reviewers have expressed high praise for 'Water Drumming In The Soul'. Zaheer Baber; Professor of Sociology; University of Toronto, said, "Madeen's storytelling prowess shines through and resonates with authenticity. The characters, particularly Assam, are beautifully developed, challenging traditional stereotypes as in presenting a more nuanced and genuine portrayal of African culture.”

One Amazon reviewer said, "Water Drumming in the Soul not only tells a passionate love story, but it also delves into thought-provoking themes like culture, identity, and the power of human connection. It's a rollercoaster of emotions that'll have you laughing, crying, and everything in between. This isn't your typical love story! This novel is well-written and full of unexpected twists that keep you flipping those pages. Plus, the characters are so well-developed that you'll feel like you've known them forever. So, if you're ready for a wild and adventurous ride, grab a copy of this modern-day classic ASAP!"

Elizabeth Montano, author of The Eternal Dawn Trilogy, called it " a novel so beautifully and realistically written I found it on par with works by whom we consider masters … Hemingway definitely comes to mind."

Eric Madeen writes cross-genre, and is the author of several books:

Tokyo-ing! - This is an apt word for this bestselling trio of tales chiming with anyone even slightly interested in Asia’s or even the world’s most dynamic megalopolis and its glazing of layers – be they cultural or taking-wing exuberant. Madeen does deep dives in three fascinating directions and voices, including the persona in first-person female. Then doesn’t let readers come up for air because they don’t want to -- until the delicious end.

Asian Trail Mix: True Tales From Borneo to Japan, a bestselling travelogue mixes it up on the Asian Trail in a voice that's by turns personal, passionate and ohhhh so very soulful. "So I get up at dawn and marvel at fog burning off into mist tumbling down like the finest mosquito netting of silk. The hills beyond the rivers' confluence, like shoulders of a woman undressing, the way the misty shroud lifts off feminine curves, higher and higher ... I tingle all over, feeling there on Borneo the dream tug of Joseph Conrad's fiction, notably his early Malaya Quartet therein Lord Jim."

By turns literarily pathbreaking and intimate, this smorgasbord of travel essays scales down the sprawl of Asia by focusing on the unique and revelatory in gemmy prose. See up close and personal the razzmatazz of novice monks at play in northern Laos, the bonding with hustling pedicab drivers in Ho Chi Minh City, the rainforests blazed on gutsy treks across Borneo and Thailand's Elephant Island and novel things Japanese. Served up nice and spicy, Asian Trail Mix is slathered across 12 rocking-it essays plus a tall tale at its glorious ending, making for a baker's dozen of sumptuousness.

Tennis Clubbed, Snubbed and Rubbity-Dub Dubbed - In historically rich Yokohama, where Captain Perry and his Black Ships cracked open Japan, the wicked shiver of the tennis snub in the postmodern present pits David Adams against K: a puffed-up xenophobic tyrant who rules over the courts of a club that has as its anthem, ironically, the promotion of international friendship, modelled on the world’s 2nd oldest tennis club on whose board Madeen had the privilege of serving.

'Water Drumming In The Soul: A Novel Of Racy Love in the Heart of Africa' will be available at no charge in e-book format January 31 through February 1 at https://www.amazon.com/stores/Eric-Madeen/author/B08VGRNJVW?.

Eric Madeen is available for media interviews and can be reached at ericsan@gol.com. All of his books are available at Amazon. More information is available at his website at https://ericmadeen.com.

About Eric Madeen:

Eric Madeen is an associate professor of modern literature at Tokyo City University and an adjunct professor at Keio University. He's an award-winning author of six books, and his writing has been published widely -- in Time, Asia Week, The East, Daily Yomiuri, Tokyo Journal, Kyoto Journal, East of the Web, Metropolis, Mississippi Review, ANA's inflight magazine Wingspan, Peace Corps Worldwide, Japanophile, Yomimono, The Pretentious Idea, Tombstone Epitaph, several anthologies, academic journals, therein his seminal essay "Under Western and Eastern Eyes" jointly published by the Ministry of Education of the Western Federation, Russia, and the Joseph Conrad Foundation, USA, and so on.

Madeen has been featured in several radio interviews (12 in the USA and 2 in Japan) and various print media. He once made his living copywriting for then-world's largest ad agency Dentsu for clients as diverse as Mazda, Subaru, Canon, Konica, Nikko Hotels International and Sony.

He was a Peace Corps volunteer in Francophone Gabon, Africa, where he built a primary school complex in an equatorial village surrounded by rainforest, a mind-blowing experience which inspired his first book.

Bestselling Author, Film Maker And Positive Psychologist Barbara Becker Holstein Announces Ebook Giveaway For Women's Freedom, Upcoming Release Of New Film

In the tradition of authors like Judy Blume, Dr. Holstein pushes the envelope in covering the challenges girls really face, regarding things that are important to them regardless of their stage of development.

Bestselling author and award-winning film maker Dr. Barbara Becker Holstein has announced a new ebook giveaway and the upcoming release of a new film.

Her best-selling novel, 'Women's Freedom, Unfinished Love Stories,' will be available at no charge in e-book form on January 31 through February 1, 2026. In this book, Holstein explores the struggles and desires of young women in the 1960s. She introduces readers to three college students navigating the intricacies of their energies and the paths to their futures. Their journeys are a mirror to the experiences of women throughout history, highlighting the universal longings and challenges that have shaped previous generations.

Readers may find themselves reflecting on their own rights, needs, and the societal influences that have shaped their perceptions. Her insightful exploration of emotional growth will captivate, challenge, and ultimately empower readers. She reminds readers that fair treatment and understanding are the keys to a future filled with self-discovery, emotional growth and sense of gratitude for those who helped create the freedom women enjoy today.

She has also announced the release of a new film to be released this year. The film, 'I Had an Affair with My Husband,' will be available early 2026. The film demonstrates that fantasy and romance can play important roles in creating a relationship that will last.

In this new film, Laura and Larry are a typical married couple. They are not looking to split, but married life can be boring without a lot of laughter and maybe even a bit of mischief. That is all about to change when Larry accidentally becomes just the man Laura adores. In fact she adores him much more than the old Larry. That leads to lots of problems and lots of fun.

"When my husband and I realized we were beginning to live our lives entrenched in new- found pleasures of being married to each other we realized we had better get this down in written form. We are both psychologists and felt a responsibility to explore what we were now living. And so the story was written down. And later the story was written once again as a script. and still later it was written once again as a movie script. And here we are older, perhaps wiser, with a film in production. It should be out in about two months.

"We thought readers might enjoy seeing us, seniors obviously and also see the two stars who have taken our places in the film world of imagination and truth.

"This film is so important for several reasons. One is that fantasy and romance and play are very important aspects of marriages that last. We were shocked when we found ourselves behaving as if we had become other people. But being psychologists we began to realize that we were just adding fun and pleasure to our daily lives. That said, we also realized as psychologists that our game of play could get out of control.

"In this film you will see the two actors, Justin L. Wilson and Jessica Miano Kruel, live out both the bad and the good, the fun and the fury of allowing oneself to take on a new persona. The film is fun and yet serious. It has a plot that viewers will take home and will think about. Viewers may try to create new personas, or may laugh at what they see and leave it at that.

"Meanwhile my husband and I still go into our alternate personalities once in a rare moon and then come out. Life is full of fun if it is not abused yet marriages and relationships can become very stale. This film is a great example of a relationship that carries on through the ups and downs of life."

Dr. Holstein is known for wrapping Positive Psychology concepts in forms of media that people find engaging, relatable and inspiring. These include:

Six bestselling, award-winning books (perfect for school libraries)

Four self-esteem workbooks for girls 8 and up

Award-winning films and coming of age selfie films

Podcasts

Dedicated websites

Stage plays

A library of articles

Ted-style talks

As a school psychologist and in her private practice, Dr. Holstein has worked with many children and parents, helping them to develop life skills in decision-making, recognition of their own talents, feel more courageous, and helping both kids and parents develop more successful inter-generational skills. Her last book, ‘Conflict and a Bit of Magic’, helps kids build self-esteem though reading the journal of a girl, identifying with the girl, and understanding they have more courage and resiliency than they thought they had. The book is based on the experiences of the already famous “girl” from 'The Truth, Diary of a Gutsy Tween' and 'Secrets, Diary of a Gutsy Teen', and achieved bestseller status in the multi-generational families category.

Dr. Holstein’s latest workbook for kids, ‘Secrets’ achieved bestseller status in the ‘Teen & Young Adult Nonfiction on Depression’ category.

Dr. Holstein's cutting-edge presentations, most recently based on the Covid-19 pandemic issues, can be found on both YouTube, Vimeo and on the Roku channel and Amazon Fire TV, titled as 'The Enchanted Self Presents'.

The Selfie Showcase allows kids, teens, and young adults ages 13 to 18 to candidly express their concerns, worries, observations and possible solutions by creating selfie videos or films around important subjects using a smartphone. Dr. Holstein's mission is to help rectify, in several ways, some issues young people face by giving them a chance to engage with others in meaningful ways about the anxiety and stress they must grapple with constantly.

Transatlantic Relations Seriously Undermined By Trump's Deception At Davos Says Elizabeth Graham, Author Of Bestselling Ebook, From Democracy To Democrazy

Kirkus Professional Book Reviewers said: "Graham's new book is an intriguing and informative ‘must read’ from a woman who is probably the best-informed American on the terrifying realities concerning Vladimir Putin's motivations and his control over Trump. It is a warning to all Americans."

Elizabeth Graham, a bestselling author, is recognized for her expertise on the Trump/Putin relationship. Her work has been published globally in more than 70 countries and is widely featured in traditional media, as well as on her very popular democracy-focused Substack blog which can be found at https://egraham.substack.com.

Graham had a Top-Secret Security Clearance while a senior in high school, and immediately upon graduation began working undercover with the CIA. She later joined the SAIC's Foreign Systems Research Center (FSRC) for 12 years. Eight of these years were spent studying Russia and Russian, and she managed the largest Russian-language military, technical and intelligence data base/library in the U.S. She began to travel to the Soviet Union and then became one of the very few Americans to move to the USSR. She lived under Communism in the Soviet Union, then Russia, and Central Asia long enough to become bi-cultural - she became Russian. Her first-hand knowledge and understanding of life in a communist or dictatorship country is shared with Americans in her book and in her Substack posts (egraham.substack.com). In a recent Substack post titled, 'Deception At Davos' she wrote in part:

Over the past year, European leaders have sought to engage President Donald Trump through diplomatic gestures, including commitments to purchase American goods, meetings with members of royalty, and gifts such as a custom-engraved golf club. However, President Trump’s proposal regarding Greenland has significantly strained transatlantic relations, reaching a level of tension that both officials and analysts describe as unprecedented in recent history.

Trump flew to Switzerland to connect with European leaders at the World Economic Forum and join their discussions regarding his promise to “take Greenland by force if necessary.”

The ‘Davos’ Trump speech was as incoherent as usual, but while Americans are familiar with Trump’s misleading statements, Europeans have not been exposed to them as often. I was surprised by their attentiveness, and by the questions asked after Trump’s speech. The statement “I will not use force to take Greenland” reassured many but breaking that promise could shock them. For Trump, words are used to con others, with no intention or understanding of honesty.

I understood this deceptive speech to be a plea for Europeans to retrieve their troops from Greenland and allow Trump to swallow up this country in the same deceptive way he did Venezuela. Trump explained that bombing boats in the Caribbean was meant to prevent illegal drugs from entering the United States, and he also said that President Maduro should be removed from power. The New York Times reported January 8, 2026, that the “primary mode of trafficking drugs to the United States from Venezuela is by air - not by boats.” (NYT, Jan. 8, 2026, “According to the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime.”) Then the entire world stood by as Trump announced that he will manage the country of Venezuela and control their gas and oil industry – money in his pocket.

An analogous situation is unfolding in Greenland, yet it seems that Europeans have not grasped the deceptive statements or fraudulent behaviors involved. Greenland possesses an abundance of untapped rare minerals used in the production of magnets, which play a critical role in the manufacturing of aircraft engines, electric cars, trains, and advanced technical machinery and equipment.

“China dominates the global rare earth magnet market, controlling most processing and manufacturing, which gives it significant leverage in high-tech industries like EVs, wind turbines, plane engines, and defense.” (Wikipedia). Once Trump issued a 100% increase (tariff) on certain Chinese goods, they implemented rigorous export controls on rare earth elements and magnets, now restricting products containing even minimal amounts of Chinese-origin materials.” (Ibid) China also acquires a large amount of natural rare metals from African nations – these are countries which no longer do business with the United States since Trump closed USAID – which resulted in a terrifying genocide across this continent.  The death toll could be as high as 14 million souls surpassing horrific fatalities by Hitler, Mussolini Putin, and other dictators except Stalin. (NPR, July 1, 2025) Take one minute to realize this enormous atrocity – and that Trump is responsible.

In response to Trump’s ludicrous tariffs on China, they tightened control over magnets, turning a crucial resource for modern manufacturing into a strategic asset. Now, Trump is striving to build alternative supply chains for rare metals and magnets by owning Greenland. He avoids openly discussing this, claiming control of Greenland is necessary for U.S. security—a tactic identical to his grab of Venezuela by treachery and deception.

Furthermore, he will not stop at Venezuela and Greenland but will pursue further territorial gains through misleading promises. He behaves like a friend one moment and an enemy the next – but in the end, he is constantly searching for new ways to accumulate wealth for himself and his family. According to PBS, “Trump and his family has received $1.4 Billion dollars due to his presidency in 2025.” He is a con man from New York who learned to cheat others and manipulate the U.S. judicial system.

Europe must stand firm and not permit Trump to gain ownership of Greenland.  Otherwise, it's uncertain which country he might target next or will he start World War III – just like Hitler’s landmass grab in the 1930’s and 40’s or Stalin’s creation then called the USSR.

More is available at https://substack.com/@elizabethgraham. Subscribe for $5/month at www.egraham.substack.com to receive Graham's daily or weekly Substack messages which draw on her decades of experience in Russia.

Graham also announced the upcoming release of a new book, 'Survival: Democracy's Struggle To Survive'. 'Survival' is unlike other political or American government books available today. It is a comparative assessment, an inspiration, and an intriguing collection of Substack messages from some of the best-known and best-selling authors in the last decade covering the terrifying realities of today's political life, U.S. government, global challenges, and critical current affairs. It is an exhaustively explored and thoroughly investigated analysis of the deep, dark, clandestine linkage between Trump and Putin - a relationship which has plagued world politics and dismantled the United States government since 2015. Contributing authors include Craig Unger, Charlie Sykes, Steven Beschloss, David Adelman and Dr. Sanford Mayer. The book will be released in 2026.

All of this information and much more is available in Graham's book, 'From Democracy To Democrazy: A Warning To All Americans', now available at Amazon at https://www.amazon.com/stores/Elizabeth-Graham/author/B0CMY189NT?. More information is available at her website at https://democrazy2020.org/.

About Elizabeth Graham:

Elizabeth Graham lives in a quiet rural city in northern Arizona. She had 4 children and has 3 grandchildren. Her oldest daughter died July 16, 2016 - three months before the U.S. 2016 election and while living/working in Japan. The Tokyo Police ruled her death a homicide by an unknown substance – possibly a poison - which is the signature lethal method used by Russians. There is more about her death in From Democracy to Democrazy.

Elizabeth was indoctrinated at a young age by her father who was a senior manager working undercover with the CIA. Her college days were in Los Angeles with the desire to become a high school teacher. However, she was destined to study Russia, Russian language, and live a life of Top-Secret clearances and undercover work. This led to senior nonprofit management positions and consulting jobs in strategic places like Moscow and St. Petersburg in Russia, all the former Soviet - Central Asian countries, and Ukraine, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and many other locations. In this process of living and working abroad, she became bi-cultural - American to Russian and back – only to find that her birth country was in the process of losing its democracy and becoming a dictatorship.

Jody Sharpe Announces No Charge Download Of Bestselling Ebook, The Angel's Daughter, New Article On Kindness

Sharpe was a 1st Place Winner of the 2023 National Association of Press Women's Communications Contest Award for Fiction For Adult Readers - Novellas, and the 2024 National Association of Press Womens's Communications Contest For Fiction - Novellas

Jody Sharpe has announced that her bestselling ebook, 'The Angel's Daughter,' will be available at no charge January 26 and 27, 2026 at Amazon at https://www.amazon.com/stores/Jody-Sharpe/author/B00DPL3382?.

In this book, a secret lies in Mystic Bay California and only two people know it. First there's Hannah O'Ryan, a tender, curly-headed half-angel. Then there's her father, Gabe an effervescent, teddy bear of a full-blooded angel. And it's up to Hannah to keep the secret safe. But she's mad a colossal mistake telling her ex-boyfriend and writing Professor, Sam Blakley. Now he's written a book exposing the secret to the world. What will happen to her angel father? What can Hannah really do to stop this? With her special tears, animal ESP and a surprising gift she doesn't know she has, will Hannah be able to thwart Sam's efforts? With her new love Josh and her beloved Mystic Bay behind her, Hannah finds her very angelness can make all the difference. Maybe she'll get to fly again like she does in all her dreams.

Most of Sharpe's books feature angels and a strong anti-bullying message. In a recent post titled 'If I Were An Angel, I'd Whisper Kindness Stays,' she talked about how kindness can stay with us even in the darkest times. In that post, she said in part:

When I see the daily hurt others in our world inflict on those less fortunate or troubled, I realize the energy of hate and bullying never can match the gift of life and ability to love we’ve been given. Why doesn’t everyone see this? When I write my Mystic Bay novels, kindness is always a main theme in the fictional town of Mystic Bay.

If I were an angel, I would whisper all to remember kindness is a gift that can be shared. It is a holy thing sent to us from above. Having a heart full of kindness for others with an avenue to forgive has seen me through the losses in my life, the hard times, the restless nights of solving problems. To be kind brings joy to my life. Kindness stays.

The full post can be found at her website at https://jodysharpe.com/blog.

Other books by Jody Sharpe include:

To Catch an Angel - Jody is also the author of 'To Catch an Angel', written in memory of her late husband Steve. In 'To Catch an Angel', miracles happen in Mystic Bay, California, the town with the psychic and angel vibe. Angels are calling. Psychic Maggie Malone returns home to find she's swept up in the miracle of it all. She can't imagine why her mother left or who her father might be. But these questions pale in comparison to the wonder of the angels. Maggie meets writer, Noah Greenstreet. They realize they've met before, but where? Maggie and Noah embark on a journey to find our world is all awash with angels.

Town Of Angels - it's angel vs. Bully in the town of Mystic Bay, California, where a well-kept secret lies. Angels live as humans there. After angels appeared to three children, all was blissful in the town full of psychics, and ordinary folk. But as brute, Klaus Waxman, comes to town, angel Ken Leighton, a storeowner, must carefully guide his flock of humans not to give in to the bully's efforts. As Klaus opens a store mocking the resident angel sightings, angel Ken guides psychic Justine Greer, and her family to thwart his efforts. And with the help of the indomitable oldest psychic in town, Madam Norma, the bully meets his match through the soft voices and intuitive minds of his neighbors.

Town Of Angels Christmas - The bully never wins. A secret lies in Mystic Bay California. Angels live as humans there. Angel Ken, a storeowner, fears the secret will be revealed when vet, Jordana Hart, a woman with special healing abilities moves to town.

Years before Angel Ken materialized as an old man, changing the course of her life. Will Jordana recognize Angel Ken as the man from her past as they work together on a rescue mission to bring twenty-two horses to Mystic Bay before Christmas, will they see what lies before them, a Christmas story only the angels could write.

Special Needs Children, The Angels On My Shoulder is a memoir based on her twenty-five years teaching children with special needs. The book placed second in the National Federation Of Press Women's At-Large Communication contest. The book is as entertaining as it is illuminating. It's a love story about the special students and others who over the years graced her life with just that, their grace.

With hearts of angels and challenges to face, the children took Sharpe along their journeys and inspired her own life's journey of self-discovery. When sorrow came, their kindness helped her through. The synchronicity of events from high school to retirement changed her life for the better, turning her face toward heaven.

Midwest Book Review stated, "Sharpe's ability to see the good in circumstances and people identifies the 'special' in 'special needs' as she delineates her journey through the education system and those teaching and social encounters which changed her perspective and life."

"Teachers (especially those working with special needs kids) will find this spiritual and social reflection easily accessible. It's presented in vignettes which offer small, digestible bites of insight into a world where angels and kindness are present in more than one form."

The Dog Who Came For Christmas - Meteorologist and psychic, Gayle Force Knight, proves to be a force to be reckoned with once more. While Gayle was sleeping, an angel sent her a vision of a future event. With her intuition, Gayle wonders, will she really meet the dog in her dream and save another one?

With the help of her intuitive husband, Alex Knight, and friends, Gayle sets on a course to rescue many more. But with surprising twists and turns of intrigue, both Gayle and Alex find there are always angels at the helm as they ride on their coattails.

20 Moon Road, An Angel's Tale - Miracles still happen in the town of Mystic Bay California. Angels live as humans there. Angel Ken, a former football coach, is surprised when his late best friend, the indomitable psychic, Madam Norma, appears in spirit form and asks him to write the story of her life through her memories she will send him. Surprising to Angel Ken, Madam Norma saw thousands of angels since childhood.

Special Needs Children followed her recently released children's book about angels, When The Angel Sent Butterflies. The new book helps children understand that love from their parents and others surrounds them. Love conquers fear, and believing that angels are near can help sweep any childhood fear away. This concept is presented in the book when Angel Ken sends Jones and Kate butterflies. The book, appropriate for ages 2 to 7, is now available at Amazon and Ingram.

One of her latest books, Summer Of Angels, is a mystery novel. Meteorologist and psychic, Gayle Force proves a force to be reckoned with as she moves back to her beloved Mystic Bay, California. While sleeping, an angel sent her a vision in a dream of a future event. Gayle realizes she must use her intuition to save an old man from drowning. But who is this old man?

With the help of intuitive attorney, Alex Knight, she finds they are caught in the middle of a future crime. But can Gayle and Alex solve the case and save the old man before it’s too late? With surprising twists and turns of intrigue and love, Gayle and Alex find there are angels at the helm as they help prove the bully never wins.

In addition, on the "Tuesdays With The Angels" section of her site, Sharpe presents stories of real-life encounters with angels. The stories are available at Sharpe's website at http://www.jodysharpe.com.

Sharpe hopes to create a collection of angel stories that involve sightings of angels, interaction with angels, miraculous angel encounters, and other types of accounts or stories. Everyone is welcome to submit angel stories. All submissions will be considered, but inclusion is not guaranteed. Stories may be submitted at http://bit.ly/2FV8amd.

Sharpe's YouTube channel brings all of this together, offering segments on all of these topics. One topic of special interest is bullying, specifically as it relates to special needs children.

In addition to the National Federation of Press Women’s award, Jody was chosen as a winner in the annual "50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading" Book Awards. She was chosen from a field of hundreds of authors through a public voting process.

Jody also announced recently that two new screen treatments of her books are now available: The Angel's Daughter and Town Of Angels Christmas.

We Have Entered The Beginning Of The End For Trump Due To The Epstein Files Says Elizabeth Graham, Author Of Bestselling Ebook, From Democracy To Democrazy

Her work has been published globally in more than 70 countries and is widely featured in traditional media, as well as on her very popular democracy-focused Substack blog which can be found at egraham.substack.com.

The ebook version of From Democracy To Democrazy will be available at no charge January 22 and 23, 2026 on Amazon at https://www.amazon.com/stores/Elizabeth-Graham/author/B0CMY189NT?

In a recent Substack post titled, 'The Beginning Of The End' she wrote in part:

I predict that sometime in 2026, the Epstein files will prove Trump’s pedophilia. With the overwhelming unanimous vote of 427 to 1 Congress passed the Epstein Bill H.R. 4405, I would expect this same consensus to impeach Trump this year. One obstacle to achieving a majority vote is that members of Congress are threatened with phone calls from Russian Organized Crime within the U.S. Putin wants Trump to remain in office – you must ask why?

Second, the leader of the Senate Oversight Committee is a Republican who supports Donald Trump. Despite H.R. 4405’s Congress approval demanding that the DOJ release all the unredacted Epstein Files by December 19, 2025 – four weeks have lapsed. Pam Bondi, Trump's Attorney General, released only 1% of the files, most of which were heavily redacted. This is a violation of the law by the U.S. Attorney General.

Members of Congress typically vote as their constituents prefer. Sex offender laws established in the U.S. during the late 1990’s and early 2000s aimed to regulate sex crimes, partly in response to shifting social attitudes from previous decades known as the “Woodstock” era or American society’s liberal approach to “birth control” medications. They established clear guidelines regarding offenses involving minors, rape, and other sexual assaults and abuses. The law firm of Keegan, Tindal & Jaeger, says “If you have two or more convictions for felony-level sexually predatory offenses, the court will sentence you to life in prison.

Nationwide social marketing campaigns were launched under these laws to shift public attitudes and behaviors. As a result of these extensive social marketing campaigns, sex offenders, especially those who are pedophiles, are now considered the worst of the worst – the scum of society. Both Epstein and Maxwell, his girlfriend, were convicted of operating an international underage sex crime organization. It has been reported that girls as young as 12 were involved. (The Miami Herald, “Virgin Islands allege Jeffrey Epstein trafficked girls as young as 12 as recently as 2018,” written by Daniel Chang and Kevin Hall, January 16, 2020).

Donald Trump is not only in the Epstein files but was reported as Mr. Epstein’s “best friend.” According to Mr. Trump, “I’ve known Jeff for fifteen years. Terrific guy. He’s a lot of fun to be with. It is even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side.” (The Washington Post, July 8, 2018, written by David A. Fahrenthold, et.al.)

In the U.S., those convicted and sent to prison as a pedophile, often face beatings and death threats from other inmates or even prison guards. Jeffrey Epstein’s death was officially ruled a suicide, though there is speculation he may have been killed due to his pedophile convictions or to silence him from discussing Trump or other famous men.

If Congress released the Epstein files, finds inculpatory evidence, and then impeaches Trump, he loses presidential immunity and could be convicted of crimes such as treason and sex offenses.

He is already legally labeled a ‘sexual predator’ due to the trial of E. Jean Carroll. His court case proved he sexually attacked her in a department store dressing room. His conviction on 34 felony counts stemmed from efforts to conceal payments made to Stormy Daniels, who is described as an adult film actress. Twenty-eight women have come forward and reported Trump sexually attack them, including a woman who was thirteen years old at the time of the abuse. She then withdrew her court case due to receiving life-threatening phone calls.

Factors that will influence Mr. Trump’s impeachment or downfall:

(1) Epstein files ‘may’ prove Trump abused and possibly raped underage girls. I know exactly what he did in Moscow, because my daughter told me. She was the bookkeeper at the “Beverly Hills” casino and knew ‘who paid for what.’ This nightclub specialized in underage prostitution. The truth will come out eventually but due to Trump’s cover ups combined with Russian death threats, it is often hard to authenticate. The “Beverly” closed, employees were not paid, and Trump’s crimes were concealed once again. Now, all evidence of Trump’s crimes in Moscow sits in a file on Putin’s desk.

(2) Jack Smith reported “behind closed doors” to Congress that he has solid evidence that proves - beyond a reasonable doubt - that Trump was “clearly to blame for the Capitol Insurrection and pointed to the fact that numerous convicted rioters testified to this effect.” (USA Today) The January 6th attack on the U.S. Capitol was an act of treason. The Smith testimony to Congress has been released to the public.

(3) Trump - along with Elon Musk and Marco Rubio - have committed “crimes against humanity” and a “genocide” when they closed USAID. A “genocide” of gargantuan proportions has begun across Africa, with an estimated death toll expected to reach 14 million people. (The Lancet, June 30, 2025). This large number of deaths is twice the number of Jews murdered by Adolph Hitler for the same reason – prejudice and bigotry.

(4) The “crime of aggression” as defined by the International Criminal Court includes “the planning, preparation, initiation, or execution of using a state’s armed forces against another’s sovereignty (or country), violating the UN Charter, by individuals in high political or military positions of leadership. This crime involves invasion or blockage and targeting leaders with the power to control state actions.” (Wikipedia). Mr. Trump ordered the US military to attack the sovereign country of Venezuela; he kidnapped the President of that country; and then met with senior personnel of U.S. oil companies in his effort to gain $100bn for himself via Venezuela oil.

The full text of the piece is available at https://substack.com/@elizabethgraham. Subscribe for $5/month at egraham.substack.com to receive Graham's daily or weekly Substack messages which draw on her decades of experience in Russia.

Bestselling Travel Ebook, Asian Trail Mix: True Tales From Borneo To Japan By Eric Madeen, Will Be Available At No Charge January 9 Through January 11, 2026

Asian Trail Mix features 12 essays which have been called "gorgeously rendered," relating on and off trail spontaneity and chance encounters with fascinating characters in an assortment of exotic Asian locales.

For many, the urge to travel is instinctual, woven into the very fabric of our being. Thrills of exploring exotic cultures and thus vibrant, diverse lifestyles, and engaging with little-known traditions, ignites a passion for discovery that is both exhilarating and transformative. Traveling introduces a sense of adventure and chance into our lives, breaking the monotony of everyday routine.

And if you are in a small group or flying solo as Madeen does, independence breeds growth, especially for a writer with a voice that's more than a language function but the sum totality of experiences and means of expression. Madeen takes you there. Yet, despite this deep-seated desire, traveling today is a logistical labyrinth, filled with complexities and challenges that can overshadow the joy of exploration.

Enter this backpacked travelogue. Understand, or rather deep-down sense with the turning of each essay's page your vibing with the wanderlust, a vicarious fulfillment of being there -- entirely void of delays, cancellations and atrocious costs for a miserable airline seat likened to time in a dentist’s chair.

Asian Trail Mix is an exuberant celebration of travel that transcends simple travel writing. With its soulful prose and intimate storytelling, it beckons readers not only to observe but to connect and reflect as in rereading charged passages and lively quotes. For anyone with wanderlust in their heart, this collection is a delectable treat that will linger long after the last precious page is turned, and those earmarked gone back to.

The ebook version of Asian Trail Mix will be available to the public at no charge January 9 through January 11 on Amazon at https://www.amazon.com/stores/Eric-Madeen/author/B08VGRNJVW?.

This bestselling ebook scales down the sprawl of Asia by focusing on the unique and revelatory in gemmy prose. Including fresh looks at Japan, Madeen’s ambitious travels include Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Laos and Thailand.

Readers will see up close and personal the razzmatazz of novice monks at play in northern Laos, the bonding with hustling pedicab drivers in Ho Chi Minh City, the rainforests blazed on gutsy treks across Borneo and Thailand's Elephant Island and novel things Japanese. Served up nice and spicy, Asian Trail Mix is slathered across 12 rocking-it essays plus a tall tale at its glorious ending, making for a baker's dozen of sumptuousness.

In a review for 'Asian Trail Mix', one reader said, "The writing is lush and emotive. It contains images and turns of phrase that will stay with you." Another said, "'Professor Madeen has a knack for taking one into depths of not only things Japanese but also several -- ever burgeoning in popularity — Southeast Asian countries while introducing fascinating customs and unique, fleshed out characters. Five stars!"

Another stated, "The author focuses on subjects of local interest at each of the intervening destinations and equally captivating is how he bravely gets there. An American based in Japan, he has a writer’s eye for detail and is quite adept at capturing local sights, sounds, smells, and the feel of rain falling in sheets and vibrant characters in all their rounded forms. Throughout he proves to convey, up close and personal, impressions as an experienced traveler with a literary background and sensibility."

Eric Madeen writes cross-genre but terms himself as unclassifiable. He is the author of several books:

'Water Drumming In The Soul' - a fiery tale set in steamy equatorial Africa, Peace Corps volunteer David Fields is on mission: to build a medical dispensary in a village where spells are cast on enemies and fear of a witch doctor reign. David seldom has his bearings – cultural or geographical – and must fight a cocktail of tropical maladies as well as social taboos as he throws himself into work. Until... he meets Assam. Captivated by her water drumming, her playing the stream as a drum, David is drawn to her early on and becomes the hunter captured by the game. And what a rollicking game of love it is - with a tension or excitement between them that never dissipates, … until the haunting end. Notable is that this novel is shelved in the Permanent Collection of Books by Peace Corps Writers in The Library of Congress … and readers’ souls.

‘Tokyo-ing!’ - This is an apt Madeen neologism for this trio of tales chiming with anyone even slightly interested in Asia’s or rather many would say the world's most dynamic megalopolis and its glazing of layers – be they cultural or taking-wing exuberant. Madeen does deep dives in three fascinating directions and voices, including the persona in first-person female. Then doesn’t let readers come up for air because they don’t want to -- until the delicious end.

‘Tennis Clubbed, Snubbed and Rubbity-Dub Dubbed’ - In historically rich Yokohama, where Captain Perry and his Black Ships cracked open Japan, the wicked shiver of the tennis snub in the postmodern present pits David Adams against K: a puffed-up xenophobic tyrant who rules over the courts of a club that has as its anthem, ironically, the promotion of international friendship. Witty and transformative on and off court with the latter having Madeen, as 30+ year permanent resident, peering deeply and hilariously into the depths of Japanese university, where he was fortunate to spend the lion's share of his tenured career while literarily transcribing it in a back-and-forth volleying in his third novel Tennis Clubbed.

Eric Madeen is available for media interviews and can be reached at ericsan@gol.com. All of his books are available at Amazon at https://www.amazon.com/stores/Eric-Madeen/author/B08VGRNJVW?. More vital information is available at his website at https://ericmadeen.com.

About Eric Madeen:

Bestselling, Award-Winning Author Nancy Hicks Marshall Announces New Book, Six Who Stopped The Steal

'Six Who Stopped The Steal’ debuted as an Amazon Hot New Release, and has recently achieved bestseller status

On January 6, 2021: The man who lost the elections said: “We will Stop the Steal.” On January 6, 2026, Marshall will hold a press conference on the Plaza outside the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors Auditorium, 205 West Jefferson Street, Phoenix, Arizona.

This will be the “launch” of her book and a call to restore respect for the integrity of elected officials who follow their conscience and the law. She and others will describe in brief how the election process works and why we should re-commit ourselves to working within and supporting the ever-improving institution of elections in our United States Constitutional democracy.

Among those invited to speak are: Adrian Fontes, current Secretary of State of Arizona and former Maricopa County Recorder; Stephen Richer, former County Recorder; and Steven Gallardo, current member of the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors and one of the six who stopped the steal.

On November 3, 2020, of of the best-run, most heavily scrutinized elections in U.S. history delivered a victory for Presidential candidate Joe Biden against his opponent, then-President Donald J. trump. Independent audits verified the valid results.

Mr. Trump and his allies decried the process and declared Mr. Trump the winner—in spite of all evidence to the contrary. They called for action to “Stop the Steal.”

Yet, on November 20, 2020, Five men certified the valid election results for the winner. It was they who stopped the steal. Others in the Arizona House and Senate prevented an illegal reversal of the results and an immoral abuse of power.

‘Six Who Stopped the Steal’ is the extraordinary true account of six men in Maricopa County, Arizona—the fifth largest county in the United States and a critical swing state—six men who stood up for the Constitution, the law, and their integrity.

The 2020 elections were an emotional flash point for millions of Americans. It was such a tumultuous time that we forget how chaotic the times were then. In January of 2020, COVID-19 landed on American shores. Confusion reigned as, even while thousands were dying, some denied that COVID was real. In May, 2020, the nation suffered a tidal wave of disruption after a video went viral showing the death of George Floyd under the knee of a Minnesota police officer. Some cried ‘racist murder’ while others witnessed the racial riots that followed.

Six Arizona men disclose what moments in their youth made them men of integrity. Each one’s unique story played a significant role in upholding the valid election results. And each one faced multiple threats to their lives.

The ebook version will be available for $.99 through January 6, 2026, on Amazon.com.

In the early Endorsements of ‘Six Who Stopped the Steal’, author Nancy Marshal emerges as a person uniquely placed to bring this critically important story to light. Marshall is a multiple award-winning author who already understood the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors. In 2009, she defended one of four activists who had been unconstitutionally arrested in their auditorium. Her successful defense led to the novel, “A Dry Hate”, winning first prize for fiction at both state and national levels, in which the cross-examination of the sheriff’s deputy is surrounded by events exposing the harm done by abuse of power.

In 2021, shocked by the treatment of these six men (only one Democrat) by their fellow-Republicans, Marshall set out to learn the inside story. What she discovered was both the story of six courageous public servants and the more complicated story of the all the major events surrounding the 2020 Presidential election—and its aftermath.

We begin with each man describing, in his own words, sometimes with vulnerable honesty, what events caused them to seek integrity as adults, and as public servants. Marshall then invites us into contemplation of what ‘monsters’ in our lives may cause us to reject evidence that is undeniably true—and what ‘monsters’ abounded in 2020. She then conquers a ‘monster’ of her own—the complexity of the election process—to provide a clear, understandable description of what has become a very sophisticated system.

The rest is history—history of the election, history of what each man did to stop the steal, history of how the results were audited and certified, and some of the fallout from the lies and personal attacks upon these six men.

Readers of ‘Six Who Stopped the Steal’ mix praise for the author with high esteem for the men who are the true heroes of this narrative. “Six Arizona leaders who stood their ground,” a testament to honesty,” a “fascinating portrayal of these courageous men,” and “true patriots” are among the comments. Marshall has been able to “showcase the elaborate steps of our election process that prevent fraud,” has written “a riveting book based extensive research,” and Six will be “a valuable resource to students, historians, and psychologists for years to come.”

The author cites several books worth reading if we want to understand these times better. ‘The God of Monkey Science’, by a Christian evangelical science teacher, explains some of the science denial that she says is unnecessary for persons of faith. ‘The Big Truth’ covers much the same time period of Six from a more academic perspective. And finally, ‘The Emperor’s New Clothes’ by Hans Christian Anderson is a reminder to us that adults may put on blinders, for many reasons, but children often see the truth more clearly.

Nancy Marshall is also the author of several award-winning books: ‘The Rattler’s Tale’ for elementary students; ‘A Dry Hate’ for adults; and ‘Finding Zachariah in a Community Garden’—a feral cat’s tale of friendship with and second chances for a vet and his broken family. Hundreds of copies of ’Zachariah’ were purchased by the Phoenix Desert Botanical Garden for free signing and distribution to all visitors as a fundraiser for the community garden that was the literal site for the story. Marshall also translated ‘Rattler’ into ‘Un Cuento de una Serpiente de Cascabel’ for Spanish readers. Marshall avoids language and scenes that are too private or violent. Thus, young people can read all her books.

Nancy Marshall is available for media interviews and can be reached at truthtopower2026@gmail.com. More information is available at her website at https://NuggetPress.com.

About the Author:

Born in New York and educated in the East, Marshall first taught high school history and government near Washington, D.C. Returning to New York City, she worked in affordable housing and eventually obtained her law degree from Rutgers University. Moving to Arizona in 1975, Marshall served for five years as the Executive Director of the Arizona Civil Liberties Union, and later as an attorney in the Juvenile Court.

Marshall has continually upheld her concern for fairness and opposition to abuse of power, whether in private situations or by those in government. This theme can be found in each of her books, whether novels or non-fiction. Retiring from law practice in 2010, she has been active as an author and is a member of several book clubs: The Arizona Professional Writers, the National Federation of Press Women, the Phoenix Writers Club, and the Arizona Authors’ Association.
