Bestselling Author Jody Sharpe Announces National Level NFPW Award For The Dog Who Came For Christmas, Encourages Kindness Versus Bullying

Sharpe was a 1st Place Winner of the 2023 National Association of Press Women's Communications Contest Award for Fiction For Adult Readers - Novellas, and the 2024 National Association of Press Womens's Communications Contest For Fiction - Novellas.

Jody Sharpe has announced a new National level award from the National Federation Of Press Women for her latest book, 'The Dog Who Came For Christmas'. In this book, meteorologist and psychic, Gayle Force Knight, proves to be a force to be reckoned with once more. While Gayle was sleeping, an angel sent her a vision of a future event. With her intuition, Gayle wonders, will she really meet the dog in her dream and save another one? With the help of her intuitive husband, Alex Knight, and friends, Gayle sets on a course to rescue many more. But with surprising twists and turns of intrigue, both Gayle and Alex find there are always angels at the helm as they ride on their coattails.

Most of Sharpe's book feature angels and a strong anti-bullying message. In a recent article posted on her site titled 'Kindness vs Bully', she wrote in part:

"You know who the bully hurts? Our children, the most vulnerable in our society.  Many lives of children are suffering because of the bullying in the schoolyards, the bullies in the neighborhood and as they see it play out in the media. Recently, I purchased a t-shirt that is for kids and adults. It says Everyone Is Welcome Here.

In my seven Mystic Bay Series of novellas, and memoir, Special Needs Children The Angels on My Shoulder, bullying is always one of the main themes. Why?Because bullying has to be taken to task in our society.  Teaching  about bullying begins at home and in school. Teaching kindness and how to be kind is our great opportunity to change the world.

Every one of us may have been bullied in our young lives or as adults and there is such a  need to teach the children how to overcome being bullied and how bullying hurts. We can teach kids to walk away, tell parents or adults like their teacher, bus driver or family member if somebody has bullied them. Talk to your kids about bullying.

An important lesson for our kids is to explain to them how kindness helps us grow into loving adults and how helping others helps ourselves grow up to be kind. Being kind can spread love around the world. It is more powerful than hate.

I’ve written books that have won awards, I think mainly because of the themes of love, forgiveness, redemption and thwarting bullies.   In my next Mystic Bay novella  due to be released in 2026, bullying will once more be a theme. I love to write and the angels inspire me to realize my potential to get themes of love and hope out into the world. It is my belief that any one can change if they want to."

Other books by Jody Sharpe include:

To Catch an Angel - Jody is also the author of 'To Catch an Angel', written in memory of her late husband Steve. In 'To Catch an Angel', miracles happen in Mystic Bay, California, the town with the psychic and angel vibe. Angels are calling. Psychic Maggie Malone returns home to find she's swept up in the miracle of it all. She can't imagine why her mother left or who her father might be. But these questions pale in comparison to the wonder of the angels. Maggie meets writer, Noah Greenstreet. They realize they've met before, but where? Maggie and Noah embark on a journey to find our world is all awash with angels.

Town Of Angels - it's angel vs. Bully in the town of Mystic Bay, California, where a well-kept secret lies. Angels live as humans there. After angels appeared to three children, all was blissful in the town full of psychics, and ordinary folk. But as brute, Klaus Waxman, comes to town, angel Ken Leighton, a storeowner, must carefully guide his flock of humans not to give in to the bully's efforts. As Klaus opens a store mocking the resident angel sightings, angel Ken guides psychic Justine Greer, and her family to thwart his efforts. And with the help of the indomitable oldest psychic in town, Madam Norma, the bully meets his match through the soft voices and intuitive minds of his neighbors.

Town Of Angels Christmas - The bully never wins. A secret lies in Mystic Bay California. Angels live as humans there. Angel Ken, a storeowner, fears the secret will be revealed when vet, Jordana Hart, a woman with special healing abilities moves to town.

Years before Angel Ken materialized as an old man, changing the course of her life. Will Jordana recognize Angel Ken as the man from her past as they work together on a rescue mission to bring twenty-two horses to Mystic Bay before Christmas, will they see what lies before them, a Christmas story only the angels could write.

Special Needs Children, The Angels On My Shoulder is a memoir based on her twenty-five years teaching children with special needs. The book placed second in the National Federation Of Press Women's At-Large Communication contest. The book is as entertaining as it is illuminating. It's a love story about the special students and others who over the years graced her life with just that, their grace.

With hearts of angels and challenges to face, the children took Sharpe along their journeys and inspired her own life's journey of self-discovery. When sorrow came, their kindness helped her through. The synchronicity of events from high school to retirement changed her life for the better, turning her face toward heaven.

Midwest Book Review stated, "Sharpe's ability to see the good in circumstances and people identifies the 'special' in 'special needs' as she delineates her journey through the education system and those teaching and social encounters which changed her perspective and life."

"Teachers (especially those working with special needs kids) will find this spiritual and social reflection easily accessible. It's presented in vignettes which offer small, digestible bites of insight into a world where angels and kindness are present in more than one form."

Special Needs Children followed her recently released children's book about angels, When The Angel Sent Butterflies. The new book helps children understand that love from their parents and others surrounds them. Love conquers fear, and believing that angels are near can help sweep any childhood fear away. This concept is presented in the book when Angel Ken sends Jones and Kate butterflies. The book, appropriate for ages 2 to 7, is now available at Amazon and Ingram.

One of her latest books, Summer Of Angels, is a mystery novel. Meteorologist and psychic, Gayle Force proves a force to be reckoned with as she moves back to her beloved Mystic Bay, California. While sleeping, an angel sent her a vision in a dream of a future event. Gayle realizes she must use her intuition to save an old man from drowning. But who is this old man?

With the help of intuitive attorney, Alex Knight, she finds they are caught in the middle of a future crime. But can Gayle and Alex solve the case and save the old man before it’s too late? With surprising twists and turns of intrigue and love, Gayle and Alex find there are angels at the helm as they help prove the bully never wins.

Award Winning Author Jody Sharpe Announces New Children’s Book, When The Angel Sent Butterflies

Sharpe's previously published books are riveting inspirational thrillers written in honor of her daughter Kate and her husband Steve.

Jody Sharpe, multi-award winning author of three books about angels, has announced the release of a new children's book, 'When The Angels Sent Butterflies'. The new book helps children understand that love from their parents and others surrounds them. Love conquers fear and believing that angels are near can help sweep any childhood fear away. This concept is presented in the book when Angel Ken sends Jones and Kate butterflies.

The new book, appropriate for ages 2 to 7, is now available at Amazon and Ingram.

In a recent post on the 'Tuesdays With The Angels' section of her website, Sharpe discussed the story behind the new book:

"When I wrote my new children’s book, 'When The Angel Sent Butterflies', it came from the heart and the miracle of seeing butterflies at the most serendipitous of moments. My late daughter, Kate at four years old, was for a brief time, afraid of bees. As I wrote the story I thought of butterflies as calming the character Kate’s fears as love is sent by Angel Ken with a wave of butterflies from his hands.

"But really the synchronicity of it all seems angels, butterflies, and bees, all represent hope, joy and love to me. One of the favorite lines I ever wrote was not in one in my books. To one of my best friends who is fighting illness I wrote:

“Though thought to be fragile, butterfly’s wings are strong in the wind. They fly miles on angel wind.”

"The strength of angels sending love through the flight of butterflies and bees gives me peace. This is part of the wondrous spiritual awakening in me."

Synchronicity And Angel Inspired Events Provide The Inspiration For Three Books About Angels, New Children’s Book By Award Winning Author Jody Sharpe

Sharpe's books are riveting inspirational thrillers written in honor of her daughter Kate and her husband Steve.

In a recent post on the 'Tuesdays With The Angels' section of her website, award winning author Jody Sharpe described some of the happenings that went beyond coincidence after the untimely death of her daughter Kate. Some of these events inspired her to begin writing novels about angels and their interactions with humans. Sadly, not long after, she also lost her husband and again experienced serendipitous encounters that were beyond mere chance. Now the angels on the writer's shoulder have provided the stimulus for a new children's book entitled, 'When The Angel Sent Butterflies'. On her website, Sharpe describes some of these synchronicities:

"Kate’s memory had inspired me to write novels about angels and my life was filled with purpose and thanksgiving. Yet sadly I lost my husband Steve and wondered how would I handle another death of someone I loved? But a beautiful new message came. Was it another synchronicity happening? My son, Mike, gave me a birthday card with a jeweled butterfly on it. 'You will get your wings and fly again soon,' Mike wrote.

"And so inspired by his loving heartfelt card and the yellow butterflies on the bushes outside my window, I began to formulate in my mind the third novel in the Mystic Bay Series, Town of Angels. It’s a novel set in the psychic town of Mystic Bay where angels live as humans and love abounds. In the story butterflies are sent from Angel Ken, to calm and nurture his flock of humans. Some land on the shoulders and fingers of the characters changing their days to happy ones.

"And then a serendipitous encounter? What happened next was to me a miracle. This past summer Elizabeth called with news of a butterfly landing near and on her family as they sat on the steps at their apartment building in New York City. For one week in the late afternoon a butterfly graced them with its presence landing a few times on each of them. It landed on my son-in-laws’ finger, on Elizabeth’s shoulder and on the baby’s shoulder. A coincidence caught on their cell phones?

"I think not but a synchronicity, a happening of love, a testimony of finding heaven's messages in the everyday. For I believe our world is awash with guiding angels. Some even come in dreams or send butterflies. For you see the most lovely part of this story is dear Elizabeth and her husband Seth named their baby girl Kate more then twenty years after Kate’s passing. I had my baby granddaughter, Kate, another Kate to love. A butterfly had landed on her shoulder just as I’d written in my latest novel."

Grief Over Tragic Loss Of Young Daughter Leads To Healing Through Writing Books About Angels - The Angels Daughter By Multi-Award Winning Author Jody Sharpe

Sharpe's books are riveting inspirational thrillers written in honor of her daughter Kate and her husband Steve.

A death in the family is something we will all experience - many times over perhaps. While any loss of a family member is heartbreaking and tragic beyond words, at no time is this more true than when a parent loses a child. For Jody Sharpe, the loss of her daughter at a young age served as the impetus for healing and restoration through writing stories about angels living on Earth. She discussed this in a recent post on her site.

"The last thing I heard was her laughter," Sharpe stated. "My daughter Kate passed away years ago but I can still hear her wonderful laugh that day in my mind.Kate had such an enormous impact on my life. The nineteen years we had together changed my world for the better. I so loved being her mother. There was a song that used to play on the radio in the late seventies when she was about three and we would sing it together. ‘You and Me Against the World’ by Helen Reddy. As her mother I thought the following lines pertained to my passing first.'For all the times we cried, I always felt that God was on our side. And when one of us is gone and one of us is left to carry on… think of all the things that we’ve been through… our memories alone will see us through. Think about the days of me and you. Me and you against the world.'

"I wrote my first novel 'The Angel’s Daughter’ in her memory." More is available as Sharpe's website at http://www.jodysharpe.com.

In Jody Sharpe's highly acclaimed novels, the angels take on human form and interact with humanity in a variety of ways. Sharpe has written 3 books about angels to date:

Sharpe's books are riveting inspirational thrillers written in honor of her daughter Kate and her husband Steve.

Jody Sharpe, award winning author of a number of books about angels, recently appeared at the Desert Foothills Library in Cave Creek AZ to lead a discussion entitled "The Angels On The Writer's Shoulders." She has also made 3 posts available with the same theme. All are available at her website in the 'Tuesdays With The Angels' section.

In Sharpe's award winning novels, angel play a central role, as they do in Western culture during the Holiday season. At this time of year, stories and depictions of angels seem to be everywhere. Angels are portrayed as both messengers and guides. Those of us who believe in angels credit them with all manner of kind and good works, and look to them for guidance.

"Since childhood I’ve believed angels are always near," Sharpe stated. "After losing my precious daughter a message in a dream from an angel gave me hope. Then I met a man I think was a real angel. My angel stories come from these loving angels on my shoulders."

In Jody Sharpe's highly acclaimed novels, the angels take on human form and interact with humanity in a variety of ways. Sharpe has written 3 books about angels to date:

Town of Angels - It is angel vs. bully in the town of Mystic Bay, California, where a well kept secret lies. Angels live as humans there. After angels appeared to three children all was blissful in the town full of psychics, and ordinary folk. But as a bully, Klaus Waxman, comes to town, Angel Ken Leighton, a storeowner, must carefully guide his flock of humans not to give to in to the bully’s efforts. As Klaus opens a store mocking the resident angels sightings, Angel Ken guides psychic Justine Greer and her family to thwart his efforts. And with the help of the indomitable oldest psychic in town, Madam Norma, the bully meets his match with soft voices and intuitive minds…

The Angel's Daughter - A secret lies in Mystic Bay,California and only two people know it. First there’s Hannah, a tender curly headed half Angel Then there’s her father, Gabe, an effervescent, teddy bear of a full-blooded angel. And it’s up to Hannah to keep the secret safe but she’s made a colossal mistake telling her ex-boyfriend and writing professor, Sam Blakely. Now he’s written a book exposing the secret to the world.

Award Winning Author Jody Sharpe, Author Of 'The Angel's Daughter', Announces New Installments Of 'Tuesdays With The Angels'

Sharpe's book is a riveting inspirational thriller written in honor of her daughter Kate.

Jody Sharpe, author of ‘The Angel's Daughter’, has announced new installments of her blog series, 'Tuesdays With The Angels'. In the new blog series, she presents quotes about angels, drawn from several of her books.

The new installments in the series include:

Tuesdays With The Angels - Angels on Earth

Tuesdays With The Angels - In Memory of my Father

Tuesdays With The Angels - Pondering Sadness

Tuesdays With The Angels - The First Rose

"My life's journey has been one of great joy and sadness but I choose to look to the heavens and angels for guidance," Sharpe stated. "In daylight and in dreams inspiration comes to me. I want to share these inspirations through my novels and my Tuesdays With The Angels Blog. I believe angels are here guiding us all."

Angels played many different kinds of roles in human history. Some believe angels to be mythical, supernatural beings who act as intermediaries between God and man. Others believe them to be real beings who watch over us and help us in times of need. Angels or some form of angel-like beings can be found in nearly every religion. They have been the subject of works of art since the beginning of history.  Several very popular television series, most notably 'Highway to Heaven', were based on angels. Angels have also been featured in movies such as 'Michael' and others.

Jody Sharpe knows angels really exist. Her latest book, ‘The Angel's Daughter’, was written in memory of her daughter Kate.

Over a decade ago, when her daughter died tragically Sharpe faced down the most difficult challenge of her life. She was determined not to just merely survive, but to live; to honor the life of her beloved daughter, her twins, her husband and the rest of the rich life she had created before the tragedy. Blessed with an inherently positive outlook these trying times were strengthened by influences from the late Norman Vincent Peale to the children's book character, Wilbur the pig. For Sharpe, ministers of spirit and guidance took the form of angels. Sharpe's openness to change led her to write her first novel, 'The Angel's Daughter'. The story that takes place in the fictitious town of Mystic Bay, California and encompasses all Sharpe's attitudes about goodness, healing and moving on.

Jody is also the author of 'To Catch An Angel', written in memory of her late husband Steve. In 'To Catch An Angel', miracles happen in Mystic Bay, California, the town with the psychic and angel vibe. Angels are calling. Psychic Maggie Malone returns home to find she's swept up in the miracle of it all. She can't imagine why her mother left or who her father might be. Jody was chosen as a winner in the annual '50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading' Book Awards. She was chosen from a field of hundreds of authors through a public voting process.

Sharpe's books have received a large number of rave reviews. A recent Amazon review stated, "This book would make a beautiful Christmas Hallmark movie. You will be left believing in Angels here on earth." Another said, "This a wonderful story that reminds us of the kindness and gentleness that exists in this world." Another stated, "Amazing. Most of all it is a feel good book and a must read.”
