"Although I am a published writer/illustrator of children's picture books," she continued "and have been published in McCall's, Ladies' Home Journal, Highlights for Children and Chicken Soup for the Soul, when it came to my seeking a publisher for my heartwarming Christmas story geared towards baby boomers entitled, 'The Reindeer Keeper', I chose self-publishing, thinking it would be hard to find a mainstream publisher interested in a title that was seasonal and written by a relatively unknown author. "My plan was to self-publish; then get the book out into the marketplace the best I could. Based on the reaction I would then take the next step-seek a mainstream publisher or literary agent. Well the reaction continues to be overwhelming from both women and men-from this country and around the world. Readers fell in love with the story and are asking for a sequel. As the four friends negotiate the turbulent waters of adolescence and bond through their music performances throughout Detroit, forbidden loves and jealousies mar their closely-knit friendship. But they always remain loyal and true to each other. In the end, poised for the leap into their post-high school lives, they question their ability to maintain their closeness in future years, when increased possibilities of separation may threaten the sanctity of their group. Nonetheless, they swear lifelong loyalty as they set off on their new paths.

Violinist turned author Erica Miner has established a reputation as an award-winning screenwriter, author, lecturer and poet.
A native of Detroit, she studied music at Boston University, the New England Conservatory of Music, and the Tanglewood Music Center. After experiencing a variety of highs and lows in her quest to forge a career in New York City, Erica won the coveted position of violinist with the Metropolitan Opera Company. When injuries from a car accident spelled the end of her musical career, she drew upon her lifelong love of writing for inspiration and studied poetry and screenwriting, winning awards in both categories.

Author Richard Palombi Announces Tour For Open The Door Richard, A Comedic Book For Baby Boomers
Author offers a hilarious look at teens coming of age in the 1950’s and 1960’s in Texas. Richard Palombi will be be on tour in Houston, Austin, Waco, Dallas, San Antonio, Temple and Killeen, Texas.
Author Richard Palombi has released his new book, Open The Door, Richard, a hilarious look at growing up in the 1950’s and 1960’s. He will be touring in cities in Texas and surrounding areas.
Written in the style of Dave Barry and other authors in the same vein, the book details Mr Palombi’s adventures with his siblings during the ‘Boomer formative years’. Mr. Palombi’s stories are related to court ordered psychologists, just after he is convicted of road rage some 40 years later. The book details these stories in a style that makes for entertaining reading.
“Growing up in the 1950’s,” stated Mr. Palombi, “with two brothers and a sister was no picnic. So what if my oldest brother John was a natural athlete and a bona fide genius? Take away his speed reading and the photographic memory and he was just another jock. Middle brother, Harry, on the other hand, was the rat of the family and a veritable thorn in my side. Judy idolized me--or so she said-- but that never stopped her from squealing on me. It was my beloved mother's bedtime stories, however, that were the cause of my many phobias.”
Baby Boomers in particular should enjoy the book. It’s a humorous look back at growing up in the fifties and sixties. “We didn’t need gangs back then,” stated Mr. Palombi, “we did enough damage with family and friends.”
“The book started out as a joke between my father and myself. I used to write routines for comedians back in the seventies. I later started a street ministry for at-risk teens and became involved in prison ministry. After that, I worked in numerous psychiatric facilities and treatment centers for alcohol and drug addiction. Throughout my career, I’ve been involved with a good many people from all walks of life. Regardless of the circumstances,however, my comedy edge remained sharp. I’d always planned to write again after retirement. Open The Door, Richard is the first of my efforts.”
Mr Palombi will be visiting book stores throughout Texas. The tour is slated for Houston, Austin, Waco, Dallas, San Antonio, Temple, Killeen and other cities in Texas.
