Bestselling Author And Top Leadership Voice Rocky Romanella Releases New AI Era Series On Belief, Mentorship, and Legacy in the Workplace

Renowned as a keynote speaker, trainer, and Forbes Contributor, Romanella founded 3SIXTY Management Services, LLC. With 40+ years in leadership, he served as CEO and Director at UniTek Global Services after a 36-year UPS career.

As organizations navigate the rapid transformation brought on by artificial intelligence, automation, and shifting workplace expectations, top leadership voice Rocky Romanella has released a new four part leadership series designed to help leaders stay grounded in the timeless principles of belief, mentorship, coachability, and legacy.

Titled “The Mentor: Believing in People Before They Believe in Themselves,” the series blends Romanella’s decades of leadership experience at UPS and The UPS Store Franchise Network with the values driven lessons he has taught to thousands of leaders across the country.

Romanella, a respected keynote speaker, executive coach, and author of Tighten the Lug Nuts, created the series to help leaders remain steady and purpose driven in an era where technology is accelerating change faster than ever before.

While AI can help us accomplish many things, there is one thing AI cannot do – it cannot lead. It is leadership that sets great organizations apart from the rest of the pack.

“In the age of AI, leaders must remember that belief, trust, and character are still the foundation of every great organization,” Romanella said. “Technology may change how we work, but it will never replace the responsibility leaders have to lift others, mentor with purpose, and leave things a little better than they found them.”

The new four part series explores:

• Belief as a leadership responsibility
• Mentorship through Coach Wooden’s principles
• The UPS promotion from within culture
• Coachability as the bridge between potential and progress
• Gratitude as the anchor of leadership
• The “One Word” identity exercise

Romanella also shares personal stories from his leadership journey, including lessons from his father, his time at UPS, and his experience leading the MBE/The UPS Store Franchise Network — all woven into a modern framework for leading with character in the AI era.

His long standing connection to legendary coach John Wooden further reinforces the depth and authenticity of the mentorship principles explored in the series. Romanella’s published conversation with Wooden, available on his website, offers readers a rare firsthand look at the values and philosophies of one of history’s most respected coaches. Readers can access Romanella’s conversation with Coach Wooden at:
https://www.3sixtymanagementservices.com/category/leadership-training/

“If you choose to lead, you must choose to be an honest and trusted leader,” Romanella added. “Your vision, mission, and values only matter if people trust you enough to follow. In a world of constant change, trustworthiness is your highest honor — and your lasting legacy.”

The full series will be available starting September 15, 2026 and can be accessed at: https://www.3sixtymanagementservices.com/category/newsletters/

Romanella continues to speak, coach, and write on leadership, ethics, and purpose driven decision making, helping organizations build high character, high performance cultures in a rapidly evolving business landscape.

In The Age Of AI, The Human Advantage Ultimately Drives Success Says Top Motivational Speaker Rocky Romanella

Renowned as a keynote speaker, trainer, and Forbes Contributor, Romanella founded 3SIXTY Management Services, LLC. With 40+ years in leadership, he served as CEO and Director at UniTek Global Services after a 36-year UPS career.

We are living through one of the most dramatic shifts in modern history. Artificial intelligence is no longer a distant concept or a futuristic prediction — it is here, woven into our daily lives, reshaping industries, accelerating decisions, and redefining how work gets done. It is powerful, fast, and deeply disruptive. And yet, in all the noise surrounding AI, one truth has been pushed to the background:

People still count.

In a recent newsletter, top motivational speaker and bestselling author Rocky Romanella discussed the human advantage in the age of AI. In that article, he wrote in part:

Somewhere along the way, the conversation shifted from how AI can help us to how AI might replace us. The narrative that “AI will replace people” has become loud and relentless. And while it is not completely inaccurate — because AI will change roles, responsibilities, and workflows — it is also deeply demeaning. It diminishes the dignity of hardworking people. It discourages the next generation before they even begin. It convinces them that their value is negotiable, temporary, or conditional on what a machine cannot yet do.

That is not leadership. That is fear disguised as prediction.

I’ve spent my entire career watching technology evolve — from clipboards and carbon paper to barcodes, automation, digital transformation, and now AI. I’ve lived the evolution from muscle to machine to mindset. And through every shift, one thing has remained constant: technology may change the work, but leadership must still lift the people.

AI can process information at unimaginable speed. AI can analyze patterns we would never see. AI can optimize tasks, automate workflows, and accelerate decisions.

But AI cannot inspire belief. AI cannot build trust. AI cannot ignite passion. AI cannot create the emotional connection that moves people to act. AI cannot lead.

If you want proof, look no further than one of the greatest leadership moments in sports history: the 1980 U.S. Olympic hockey team — the Miracle on Ice. AI could have analyzed the Soviet team’s strengths, predicted their strategies, and calculated the odds. But AI could not have done what Herb Brooks did: build belief in a group of young men who had no business winning that game on paper. AI could not have created the emotional spark that turned a group of individuals into a team that shocked the world.

That moment wasn’t about data. It was about heart. It was about leadership. And that is the point we are losing in today’s AI conversation. The danger is not that AI will replace people. The danger is that people will start believing they no longer matter. A generation entering the workforce is stuck between what AI is and what AI isn’t. They are waiting for AI to define them, instead of realizing they are still the architects of their own future. This paralysis is destructive. It convinces people to wait instead of act, to fear instead of grow, and to give up control of their own future instead of owning it.

Leaders must step into that gap. Leaders must remind people of their value. Leaders must restore dignity to the conversation.

Because here is the truth: AI is the bus to the future — but people must drive the bus.

And the leaders who understand this — who know how to elevate people while leveraging technology — will define the next era of business.

A Moment That Changed Everything

Early in my career, I was called into the corporate office and given an assignment that would change the trajectory of my life. UPS had just acquired Mailboxes Etc., and the company needed someone to manage the integration and bring it fully into the UPS family.

I was a district manager — experienced, yes, but nowhere near the level of complexity this assignment required. I remember sitting across from the CEO and COO as they explained the scope of the work. It was high visibility. It was strategically critical. And it was far beyond anything I had ever done.

And here’s the truth: AI would have never picked me for this role. The data would have said you need someone with franchise experience, someone who understands marketing, someone with entrepreneurial credentials — and probably a few other boxes I didn’t check.

But the data my CEO and COO used wasn’t a spreadsheet. It wasn’t an algorithm. It wasn’t a model.

It was AIAI. Am I All In?

They needed someone who was all in. Someone who acted like an owner. Someone who was a partner in the business. Someone with strategic vision and the ability to drive change. Someone who could learn fast, listen deeply, and lead people through uncertainty.

Then they said the words that stayed with me forever:

“We have faith in you. Be yourself. Learn first, question second.”

In that moment, everything changed. Not because the assignment got easier. Not because I suddenly knew what to do. But because someone believed in me before I believed in myself.

And that idea — that a leader can see something in you before you see it in yourself — would become one of the most important leadership lessons of my life.

Top Motivational Speaker Rocky Romanella Presents The Keynote Topic Everyone Needs To Talk About: The Heart And Soul Of AI

Renowned as a keynote speaker, trainer, and Forbes Contributor, Romanella founded 3SIXTY Management Services, LLC. With 40+ years in leadership, he served as CEO and Director at UniTek Global Services after a 36-year UPS career.

Top motivational speaker and bestselling author Rocky Romanella sees the value of AI, but recognizes that while AI can produce, it cannot lead. He believes the future still belongs to leaders who lead with humanity. In a recent newsletter he wrote in part:

AI is everywhere in our headlines, our boardrooms, our classrooms, and our conversations. It is reshaping industries, accelerating decisions, and redefining how work gets done. But for all its power, AI still lacks the two things that have always moved people, teams, and organizations forward:

A heart. And a soul.

That’s the irony — the oxymoron — at the center of this moment. AI is the most powerful tool of our lifetime, yet it cannot feel, believe, trust, hope, or care. It cannot inspire a team on the brink of burnout. It cannot look someone in the eye and say, “I believe in you.” It cannot build a culture where people feel seen, valued, and understood.

Only leaders can do that. Only people can do that.

And that is why I created my keynote, The Heart and Soul of AI, a keynote built to remind leaders that people, not algorithms, are the true engine of progress. It challenges leaders and organizations to recommit to their people, their purpose, and their values. It is the operating system leaders need when AI handles the tactical and humans must elevate the strategic.

The Moment That Changed How I Lead

Years ago, someone asked my wife, Debbie, which of our children was her favorite. She smiled, the kind of smile that tells you she already knows the answer and said:

“They all are, because everyone gets what they need when they need it.”

At first, I thought it was a clever parenting line. Over time, I realized it was a masterclass in leadership.

Her answer wasn’t about fairness. It was about understanding people as individuals. It was about meeting them where they are. It was about making each person feel valued, supported, and seen.

That single moment reshaped how I led teams, coached leaders, and built organizations. And it is exactly the kind of leadership the AI era demands.

AI has a superpower brain — one that can process data, spot patterns, and create extraordinary efficiencies. But only leaders have the heart, soul, and courage to lead their people through these dramatic and, when done properly, exciting changes.

From Clipboards to Code A Perspective That Matters Now

I started my career in the world of clipboards, carbon paper, and handwritten processes. I lived through barcodes, automation, digital transformation, and now AI. I’ve seen every major shift in how work gets done. And here’s the truth I learned along the way:

Technology may change the work, but leadership must still lift the people.

That perspective is disappearing. A generation entering the workforce is waiting for AI to define them — stuck between what AI is and what AI isn’t. That paralysis convinces people to wait instead of act, to fear instead of grow, and to surrender control of their future instead of owning it.

Leaders must have the courage to bring the heart and soul back into the conversation.

What AI Cannot Do And Why Leaders Matter More Than Ever

AI can analyze data, but it cannot create meaning. AI can generate options, but it cannot generate belief. AI can automate tasks, but it cannot build trust.

It could not have inspired the 1980 U.S. Olympic hockey team to the Miracle on Ice. It cannot ignite passion. It cannot create belonging. It cannot look at someone and see potential they don’t yet see in themselves.

And here is the truth at the center of this keynote:

AI can accelerate the work but only leaders can advance their people. Only leaders can lift others forward so no one is left behind.

That is the work of leaders. That is the work of people.

The AIAI Operating System for the AI Era What It Means and Why It Matters

Even though the keynote is titled The Heart and Soul of AI, the leadership mindset behind it is AIAI — Am I All In? AIAI is the internal operating system leaders need in a world where AI handles the tactical and humans must elevate the strategic. It challenges leaders to recommit to their people, their purpose, and their values. It asks leaders to show up fully with clarity, courage, and conviction especially when the world around them is changing faster than ever.

In the keynote, I introduce the three questions every leader must master as AI accelerates the pace of work:

1. What is the issue or opportunity?
2. How do I get my team aligned and committed?
3. How do I turn intent into business results?

These questions form the backbone of strategic leadership in the AI era - a world where AI can analyze information, but only leaders can create meaning.

Top Motivational Speaker Rocky Romanella Introduces AIAI: A New Business Culture Paradigm For An AI-Driven World

Renowned as a keynote speaker, trainer, and Forbes Contributor, Romanella founded 3SIXTY Management Services, LLC. With 40+ years in leadership, he served as CEO and Director at UniTek Global Services after a 36-year UPS career.

We are entering one of the most transformational moments in modern history. Artificial intelligence is reshaping industries, accelerating decision making, and redefining how work gets done. At the same time, the narrative that “AI will replace people” has become loud and relentless. AI won’t replace everyone, but there will be some reduction, which will make the remaining people even more important and critical.

Yes, AI is a powerful tool. But there is one thing AI cannot do: AI cannot lead.

AI could not have inspired the 1980 U.S. Olympic hockey team to the Miracle on Ice. AI cannot build belief, ignite passion, or create trust. AI cannot replicate intuition — the quiet, powerful instinct that allows leaders to ask the right questions, listen deeply, and make the big decisions that change everything.

Top motivational speaker and bestselling author Rocky Romanella believes there's another acronym that deserves our attention even more. AIAI. If we understand AIAI, we will recognize AI cannot possibly replicate the core value that that ultimately drives all successful companies and organizations. So what does AIAI stand for?

Am I All In?

In a recent newsletter titled 'Developing A Partnership Atmosphere In Your Organization: Creating AIAI', Romanella discussed why this concept is vital to any business hoping to pull away from the pack. In that article he wrote in part:

In today’s AI-driven world, I’d like to introduce another AI acronym — one that speaks not to technology, but to culture - AIAI: Am I All In?

Partnership is not a title; it is a deep-rooted commitment to something larger than oneself. It requires an open mind, compromise, collaboration, and respect. It asks us to think about the greater good, rather than the individual good.

I grew up in a company that lived this philosophy. Its stock incentive program wasn’t just a compensation tool — it was a cultural anchor. It created a sense of ownership, belonging, and shared destiny. People didn’t feel like mercenaries; they felt like partners. They felt all in.

Today, with portable 401(k)s, job hopping, and the disappearance of pension plans, many employees feel disconnected from the long-term growth of the organizations they serve. The time may be right to bring back a modern version of that ownership mindset — one that rekindles pride, accountability, and partnership.

The Responsibility of Partnership

Partnership is both an honor and a responsibility. In organizations where ownership or incentive-based rewards exist, the message is clear: as the company grows, so does your share of the reward — and your share of the responsibility.

When you have skin in the game, everything changes. You run every aspect of the business you touch as if it were your own. You become the model of what good looks like.

Your actions reflect on your people. Their actions reflect on your customers. And together, those actions become your reputation — something that can be built or destroyed in an instant.

For those brand new to the organization, hungry for a long-term career, and for those who have weathered the storms of uncertainty and post-COVID change, this renewed sense of partnership may be exactly what they’ve been waiting for. Sometimes the practices we label as “old school” are exactly the principles we need to build our next generation of new school leadership.

Acting Like an Owner

Whether your organization uses equity, bonuses, or incentive-based rewards, the goal is the same: Create a culture where everyone acts like an owner.

When you act like an owner:
• You emulate the organization’s values and mission.
• You make decisions with integrity.
• You model excellence.
• You think long-term.
• You take responsibility for outcomes.

Ownership is not a program; it is a mindset. It is the answer to AIAI — Am I All In?

New School Ideas for Today’s Workforce

Not every organization can offer equity, but every organization can offer partnership. Here are modern approaches that honor the spirit of ownership:

* Reimagined Tuition Reimbursement: Instead of traditional reimbursement, consider a graduate assistant style model that accelerates completion and provides meaningful support.

* Student Debt Partnership Programs: For employees already finished with school, helping pay down student debt may be more valuable than equity — and more culturally meaningful.

* Enhanced Retirement Matching: A higher match percentage, tied to performance or tenure, can mirror the benefits of an ownership bonus without requiring actual equity.

These ideas work because they reinforce the same message: We grow together. We win together. We are all in.

Partners Build the Climate for Success

Partners work thoughtfully. They use processes, technology, and tools to drive results. They lend resources to colleagues, support new markets, and help implement new initiatives. They understand that success is never a solo act.

Partners also know they cannot do it alone. They are committed to creating a safe environment for employees, customers, and the public. Safety is not a policy; it is a promise.

And finally, partners check their ego at the door. They show up humble, flexible, and ready to support each other. They adapt to changing conditions. They strive to be respected leaders among their peers and within their industry.

Partnership is not about status; it is about service. It is about legacy. It is about being all in.

Rapidly Changing Business Environments Require That Today's Leaders Stay Curious, Current And Connected Says Top Motivational Speaker, Best Selling Author Rocky Romanella

Renowned as a keynote speaker, trainer, and Forbes Contributor, Romanella founded 3SIXTY Management Services, LLC. With 40+ years in leadership, he served as CEO and Director at UniTek Global Services after a 36-year UPS career.

Today, seismic shifts in technology, expectations, and entire industries occur almost overnight. The playing field shifts and morphs at breakneck speed. Unlike the "good-ol-days," leaders may not be able to depend on yesterday's lessons to inform today's critical decisions. The relentless pace of change has elevated the standards we must meet if we are to remain competitive and stay ahead of the curve.

In a recent newsletter titled ‘Why Today’s Leaders Must Stay Curious, Current And Connected’, Romanella wrote in part:

In today’s world, technology, expectations, and entire industries shift overnight and leaders can no longer rely on what they learned yesterday to guide the decisions they must make today. If anything, the pace of change has raised the bar. It demands that we, as leaders, set the tone for learning, stay current, and model the curiosity we expect from others.

A large part of a leader’s time and energy must be devoted to leadership development and succession planning. These are not “nice-to-haves.” They are core responsibilities. As an organization, we must insist that relevant learning takes place at every level and that it becomes part of our cultural DNA. We must define a developmental leadership model, implement it consistently, and hold ourselves accountable for living it.

The best leaders understand how to motivate and inspire their high-potential talent. They create development plans that both leader and employee can commit to—plans that are consistent, transparent, and aligned with the organization’s values. And they do this not from a distance, but by acting as role models, mentors, and coaches. They empower their people by giving them the authority and confidence to get things done in the most efficient and effective way possible.

Learning Begins With Us

So how do we, as leaders, take the time and make the effort to learn?

For me, that lesson started early in my career at UPS. I began as a part-time employee, and when the opportunity for a full-time management position came up, the policy was clear: every future leader first became a full-time driver. All roads to full-time management ran through a driving position.

At the time, I viewed it as both an opportunity and an honor. Why? Because it grounded us in who we were as a company. It taught us what we stood for and more importantly what we would never compromise: service to our customers.

That lesson stayed with me throughout my career. Before we can plan, instruct, or manage, we must first learn for ourselves. Whether at UPS or in the roles I held after retiring, my first step was always the same: spend a day in the operation, shoulder-to-shoulder with the people who did the work every day with pride, efficiency, and commitment. That is where real learning happens.

The People Closest to the Work Are Our Greatest Teachers

When you take this approach, something becomes very clear: our best learning comes from others, especially the people in our care. They know their jobs. They perform them well. They care for each other in ways we may never fully see unless we spend time with them.

We also learn from our peers, from cross-functional partners, and from those who support us. New ideas for old problems often emerge from these interactions.

And we must never hesitate to seek advice. Asking questions is not a sign of weakness; it is a sign of strength. The biggest thing I knew early in my career was what I did not know. No one is expected to know it all. In fact, the moment someone believes they know everything, they stop growing. They lose curiosity. They become judgmental instead of inquisitive.

The Workshop That Changes Everything, Intentional Listening Workshop Now Offered By Top Motivational Speaker Rocky Romanella

Renowned as a keynote speaker, trainer, and Forbes Contributor, Romanella founded 3SIXTY Management Services, LLC. With 40+ years in leadership, he served as CEO and Director at UniTek Global Services after a 36-year UPS career.

Better listening leads to better preparation. And better preparation always leads to better outcomes. This is how great teams win according to top motivational speaker and bestselling author Rocky Romanella. The power of listening is the skill that transforms leaders, teams and results.

In a recent newsletter, Rocky unveiled the powerful Intentional Listening Workshop and Keynote Experience, designed to equip businesses with the tools to amplify their results through effective communication. This unique opportunity promises to transform the way teams interact, driving greater success and collaboration. In that article, he wrote in part:

In today’s high pressure business environment, leaders and sales professionals are navigating more complexity, more noise, and more competing priorities than ever before. Yet amid all the urgency, one skill consistently separates high performers from everyone else: the ability to listen with intention.

Over the past several months, we’ve been refining and delivering one of our most impactful programs to date — the Intentional Listening Workshop, a hands-on, high-energy experience designed to elevate how leaders, sales managers, and account executives connect, communicate, and influence. This workshop has quickly become a cornerstone of our leadership development curriculum because it addresses the most overlooked — yet most powerful — driver of performance: how we listen before we act.

Workshop Overview: What We Explored Together

This workshop is built around a simple truth: Listening is not a soft skill. It is a strategic advantage.

Participants worked through real world scenarios, including our signature case studies. Here is an example of two of them:

1. Sales Manager → Account Executive: “Two Ships in the Night”

A deep dive into how pressure, assumptions, and misalignment can cause even the strongest internal relationships to drift. Through guided reflection and structured dialogue, participants learned how intentional listening rebuilds trust, clarifies expectations, and accelerates performance.

2. Account Executive → Customer: “The Moment of Truth”

A powerful look at how customer conversations can stall when listening breaks down — and how preparation, curiosity, and alignment transform hesitation into momentum. This module teaches AEs how to earn the customer’s time, uncover real needs, and move deals forward with confidence.

Across both cases, one theme emerged clearly: When listening improves, everything improves.

Inside the Curriculum: Skills That Drive Real Change

The workshop curriculum is built around three core pillars that define high performance communication:

1. Listening With Intention
Participants learned how to slow down, tune in, and create space for understanding. This includes recognizing emotional cues, clarifying assumptions, and listening for what is not being said.

2. Preparing With Purpose
Preparation is not paperwork — it’s leadership. We introduced tools like the Strategic Listening Preparation Card, helping participants enter every conversation with clarity, structure, and intention.

3. Practicing Constructive Dissatisfaction
Great professionals never settle. They stay curious, hungry, and committed to growth. This mindset — constructive dissatisfaction — is the engine of maturity and long term success. It pushes leaders and AEs to refine their craft, elevate their conversations, and continuously improve.

Set The Tone From The Top For 2026 - True Leadership Defined By Top Motivational Speaker Rocky Romanella

Renowned as a keynote speaker, trainer, and Forbes Contributor, Romanella founded 3SIXTY Management Services, LLC. With 40+ years in leadership, he served as CEO and Director at UniTek Global Services after a 36-year UPS career.

According to top motivational speaker and bestselling author Rocky Romanella, true leadership is not about reacting to headlines; it’s about shaping environments where clarity, trust, and purpose thrive. The world around us continues to move at a relentless pace, and leaders, at every level, carry the responsibility to set the tone from the top going into 2026.

Romanella recently addressed this subject in a newsletter titled, 'Setting The Tone For 2026'. In that article, he wrote in part:

I have always believed that setting the tone is one of our most important responsibilities. It is not a single act but a daily discipline—reflected in our actions, our words, and our routines. As we step into 2026, let us recommit to this discipline. Let us be intentional in how we lead so that we inspire rather than discourage, elevate rather than diminish, and guide rather than simply manage.

The year ahead is filled with possibility. By setting the right tone, we create cultures of resilience, hope, and excellence. Together, we can ensure that 2026 is not just another year but a year defined by leaders who listen, act with purpose, and leave a legacy worth following.

As we look ahead, success begins with viewing our business holistically, recognizing the opportunities in our daily actions, our monthly rhythms, and our yearly commitments. Consistency and balance in our words, deeds, and leadership create the foundation for lasting impact.

We know our future will be defined not only by technology and operational excellence but by the strength of our people. That is why we are committed to being a destination for talent, an organization where people feel valued, empowered, and proud to contribute. Even in challenging times, our responsibility as leaders is clear: to provide direction, to persevere, and to lead with integrity. By committing ourselves to be people of character, leaders of vision, and companies of purpose, we ensure that the year ahead is not just endured but embraced with optimism and confidence.

As we recommit ourselves to leading with integrity and optimism in the year ahead, it is important to ground that commitment in the values that define who we are. Values are not simply words on a page; they are the compass that guides our actions, the standard by which we measure ourselves, and the promise we make to those we lead. With that in mind, let us reflect on the principles that will continue to shape our culture and inspire our future.

Our Values

Integrity: We lead with honesty, transparency, and accountability. Integrity is not optional; it is the foundation of trust, and trust is what sustains strong leadership and lasting relationships.

People First: Our strength lies in our people. We are committed to creating an environment where individuals feel valued, empowered, and supported to grow. When our people thrive, our business thrives.

Vision & Innovation: We embrace change as opportunity. By looking ahead with clarity and courage, we anticipate shifts in the business landscape and respond with strategies that drive progress.

Excellence in Action: We believe excellence is not an event but a discipline. Through consistency in our actions, words, and deeds, we set the tone for performance that endures.

Legacy of Leadership: Our responsibility is not only to deliver results today but to build a culture that lasts tomorrow. We measure success not just by what we achieve but by the leaders we develop and the impact we leave behind.
