Author John Pappas Seeks Interesting Dog Stories To Be Published In Bark News

Bark News is published online by John Pappas, author of 'That Dog Will Never Hunt' and 'When Wolf Comes'

Do you know any good dog news stories? Who doesn't? Bark News is accepting stories for inclusion in the next issue to be published online. Dog stories submitted must be interesting to a wide cross-section of dog lovers. The best stories submitted each month will be published online and the person submitting the story will receive a free, personalized copy of 'That Dog Will Never Hunt'.

"One of the few constants in my life," stated Mr. Pappas, "is that I’m a dog guy. Dogs have always responded to me, and as a writer, the ways humans interact with dogs cover such a wide range of attitudes and emotions I felt compelled to portray those contrasts and experiences. 'That Dog Will Never Hunt', for instance, came about over a period of time and takes a reader to locations from Alaska to Louisiana. Enter these stories and meet professional dog trainers, a struggling artist, displaced rancher, desperate Texas farmer, a kid that knows his dog is his best friend, and others that will surprise and let readers see the influence of dogs in people’s lives in a new way."

"Readers have told me 'That Dog Will Never Hunt' stirs memories about the dogs in their lives, past and present, from professional dog trainers to the person next door who has a mixed breed they adopted from PAWS. These 12 stories are really more about the people that live with dogs and how they interact. Besides being entertained, readers will better understand why dogs do the things they do, and perhaps more about the people they live with. As Jodi at Woods Creek Kennels wrote in her review, “You’ll never look at man’s best friend the same way again.”

Submissions should be 1000 words or less. If the story is over 1000 words, Pappas requests that the submitter query first. All submissions will be subject to minimal editing as required.Stories for Bark News and Notes can be submitted by email at john.orca11@gmail.com. John Pappas is available for media interviews and can be reached using the information below or by email at john.orca11@gmail.com. His books are available at his website, Amazon.com, Barnes & Noble and through any bookstore in the U.S., Canada and the UK. All books are available in Kindle format.

Ami Moore, The Chicago Dog Coach, Guides The Formation of Chicago's Newest Dog Park

Ami Moore, The Chicago Dog Coach, will assist in establishing the committees for the Dog Park at Adams/Sangamon in the West Loop. The meeting will be on Wednesday April 28th at 7pm at Jack’s Tap Bar and Restaurant

Ami Moore, The Chicago Dog Coach and author of The Alphatude Attiude, will assist in establishing the committees for the Dog Park at Adams/Sangamon in the West Loop in Chicago, IL. The meeting will be on Wednesday April 28th at 7pm at Jack’s Tap Bar and Restaurant

Ami Moore has always been a staunch supporter of dog parks in urban environments. The Chicago Dog Coach believes that Activity for the dog is one of the three main needs that a loving dog owner needs to provide in order for their dog to be healthy and happy. The other important components that a dog needs from the dog owner are Alphatude (leadership) and Amiability (education).

“I am so happy," stated Ms. Moore, "that the West Loop will have a brand new dog park that will serve the community. Dogs need off-leash social time with each other in order to reduce aggressiveness”

Ami Moore was asked to share her tips for proper dog manners at the dog park with attendees.

Ami Moore attended the ground-breaking ceremonies in the fall of 2009 and has supported the efforts of Alderman Bob Fioretti and Alderman Walter Burnett in pushing for the new park at the Adams site.

The Chicago Dog Coach’s 3 Easy Tips For Dog Parks are:
1. Make sure that your dog will come when called as this can prevent dog fights.
2. Never take dog treats or human food into a dog park as this can escalate aggression.
3. If a dog fight does break out at the dog park, move your dog as far from the dog fight as possible. First make sure your dog is safe and then go back and help.

Chicago Dog Coach Ami Moore discusses activity, Alphatude, amiability and many other important subjects in her book, “The Alphatude Attitude” and in her upcoming DVD, “Urban Alphatude 1-2-3” which will be released later in 2010.

Ami Moore is widely recognized as one of America’s leading dog training masters. She has dovetailed her love of learning, her coaching skills and her love of dogs into the creation of a vibrant company that has enabled her to create harmony between homeowners and dogs in homes all over America. With over 20 years of experience in the field she invests a tremendous amount of time giving back to the community. As a dog trainer, personal coach and therapist, she assists non-profit organizations in creating and implementing therapy/service dog programs in schools, churches, community centers, prisons and other businesses.

“I always tell my clients," continued Ms. Moore, "that their dogs need leadership more than love. ‘Alphatude’ is the leadership attitude expressed in a way that the dog understands. Dogs don’t really understand abstractions like words or emotions. Dogs understand concrete communication: tone, body language and facial expression. For some people this is a difficult concept. I tell them not to worry. Just fake it until you make it!”

Ami Moore has been featured in numerous industry publications, magazines and newspapers across the country. She writes as the Chicago Dog Training Expert for Examiner.com. She is available for interview and speaking engagements. She can be reached by email at chicagodogcoach@gmail.com. More information is available at the company’s website. Ami Moore, The Chicago Dog Coach, Releases The Alphatude Attitude: Your Dog Wants You To Lead

In her new book, Ami Moore describes how people with problem dogs are perhaps dogs with problem people. She describes how the baggage people bring to their human relationships is the same baggage they bring to their relationship with their dog.

Ami Moore, the Chicago Dog Coach, recently released The Alphatude Attitude. The book reveals how a dog owner’s mental and emotional states and behaviors influence a dog for good or for evil. Ami Moore has found that the baggage that people bring to their relationships with people is exactly the same baggage that they bring to their relationship with their dog.

“Every client who calls me” stated Ms. Moore, “has the same needs; they want the pain to stop. It might be the pain of living with a dog that is not potty trained or the pain of living with a dog that is biting children. I tell every client the same thing. You really don’t have a dog problem--you have a dog with a people problem. The Alphatude Attitude will help loving dog owners understand that their dog’s behavior is a reflection of their own energy and attitude. If a dog owner transmits ‘Alphatude’, the owner will have a great dog with very little effort. On the other hand, if a dog owner transmits ‘Losertude’, the owner is going to have major problems.”

Her first and true love however is canine behavior modification and problem solving. Ms. Moore has pioneered the use of electric dog training equipment as positive reinforcement, and combined this groundbreaking innovation with motivating dog's natural drive to follow a strong leader.

The Chicago Dog Coach employs a unique three point-intervention plan for dog-owner education and rehabilitation.

* The first foundational element is dog psychology which deals with the internal and instinctual aspects of the dog and owner or ‘Alphatude’.

* The second foundational element is dog training or ‘Amiability’ which teaches the dog the meaning of words. Dogs can’t succeed in the world if they remain ignorant of human language.

* The third foundational element is Activity; meaningful interaction that combines the elements of affection and ‘Alphatude’.

“I always tell my clients,” stated Ms. Moore, “that their dogs need leadership more than love.
