Bestselling Author Marlayne Giron Announces Release Of New Romance Novel, Second Chance Inn, Now Available For Pre-Order In Ebook Form

Giron is considered to be a great new voice in Christian Fiction and writes fiction with a mission.

Romance novels encompass a vast array of styles, each with its unique flavor and theme, appealing to a wide range of readers. Historical romance, contemporary romance, paranormal, suspense etc. With endless sub-genres and combinations, romance novels offer something for everyone. The real challenge is to find something different within this assortment, something that captivates and enchants, but offers something entirely unique. 'Second Chance Inn', by bestselling author Marlayne Giron, is that something different.

Rachel Winston is suddenly and tragically widowed in her early 30s. She and her adopted, teenaged daughter, Karen, are forced to leave everything behind in Southern California. She purchases an Amish farmhouse in Lancaster County, PA to open an Amish-style Bed & Breakfast Inn. The farmhouse she purchases was put on the market by a young Amish widower, Samuel Miller, who recently lost his wife and five children in a buggy accident. He has moved into the Dawdi house to maintain the farm and Rachel happily cooks, cleans, and does his laundry in exchange for his help.

Thrown together by tragic loss, their mutual suffering draws them together against the rules of his community. Solace and friendship soon turn into something deeper, putting him at great risk for shunning. Rachel struggles to adapt while her daughter finds it easier to fit in to the Amish lifestyle.

Will Rachel succeed in becoming Amish so she can be with Samuel, or will their blossoming relationship doom them both as outcasts?

“Second Chance Inn is written from the perspective of an English woman struggling to fit into the Amish community because of her growing love for Samuel,” Giron stated. “The inspiration for the book was 'what what I do if I ever lost my husband' and contains much of my personal life in its pages.”

The book is now available for preorder in Kindle format at https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CBWQZBSS?ref_=pe_3052080_276849420.

Giron's bestselling Christian Fantasy Fiction e-book, 'The Victor', was heavily influenced by Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings. In the tradition of Stephen Lawhead and Elizabeth Chadwick, Marlayne Giron writes epic fantasy fiction centered around traditional Christian values. Her work has been compared to 'The Chronicles of Narnia' and has an endorsement by New York Times bestselling author Tosca Lee on the front cover.

Destined to become a classic, the new book is an inspirational historical fantasy fiction book written for ages 12 and up. This spellbinding tale is set apart from other Christian fiction books by her subtle but powerful method of presenting Christian principles embedded in a majestic adventure that is gripping, riveting, and engaging for readers of any age. It is perfect as a home school resource for both English and history curriculum.

As noted on Giron's website, a companion lesson plan is available for advanced Language Arts students in upper middle school through high school. The Lesson Plan explores the language and Biblical symbolism of the novel and works especially well for Christian homeschoolers. Because the Christian Bible plays such a powerful role in history and sociology, the book is recommended for non-Christians as well.

The student workbook is available at no charge at Giron’s website at https://thevictorbook.com/download-the-free-student-workbook-and-chivalry-studies/.

Readers and reviewers have praised The Victor. Robert Heath, Founder and Director of Kids for Christ/USA, stated, "The Victor is an absolute 'literary masterpiece' that should be required reading in High Schools across the land. In fact, if there was a required reading list for Christians, The Victor would have to be on it."

NY Time bestselling author Tosca Lee said, "The Victor is an epic adventure of love, loss, and triumph over evil. Giron’s characters leap off the page into medieval battles, jousts, quests, and romance. Fans of Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, and medieval fantasy will not want to miss out on this classic tale!"

Karen Koch, former editor of the Christian Home Educators Association of California Magazine stated, "I loved this book. The author had me at castles, sword fights, and a gentle romance, but the novel reveals an eternal story of good vs. evil that is much deeper than just what’s on the surface. Middle and high school students (and their parents) will love this account of adventure, drama, betrayal, sacrifice, and ultimate victory."

Kathi Macias, bestselling author of nearly sixty books said, "Author Marlayne Giron has woven together a fast-paced adventure and a tender love story that will keep readers on the edge of their seats, even as they are caught up in the lives of believable characters, both good and evil. The Victor will introduce – or reintroduce – readers to the majestic story of the Bible, a story of love, redemption, and victory. Though aimed at high-school aged readers, adults will be captivated by it as well. Highly recommended!"

The Victor is available at Amazon at https://www.amazon.com/Marlayne-Giron/e/B09YQPRVL7/ref=dp_byline_cont_pop_book_1.

The Best Gift For Home School Teachers And Students - The Victor, Bestselling Book By Marlayne Giron

Giron is considered to be a great new voice in Christian Fiction and writes fiction with a mission. Influenced by epic tales such as Rings of Power and Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings, the book will be of special interest to homeschoolers, as a no-charge student workbook is also available at her website.

It is always difficult to find a gift for teachers. More so for homeschool teachers. Supplies are always welcome of course, but can be uninteresting and a bit boring. The same with quiz books or software. For homeschool teachers, student boredom can be a real issue also. There is one gift for homeschool teachers that can solve both problems, and is guaranteed to catch the interest of home school students 12 and up - The Victor, by best selling author Marlayne Giron.

Giron's highly praised Christian Fantasy Fiction e-book, 'The Victor', was heavily influenced by Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings.

The lesson plan contains a vocabulary list, chapter summary questions, pronunciation guide, guide to allegorical symbolism, short biography about the author, and a bit about the armor that knights and their horses wore during medieval times. End of chapter questions about content are interspersed with ideas for further study, and essay topics.

The Victor and its Lesson Plan work well with the Classical Conversations method of home schooling. According to the Classical Conversations website, “Classical Conversations is a proven Christian homeschool program created by parents for parents. We do this through a Christ-centered and family-friendly approach to homeschooling that makes everything biblical and hospitable, focused on three simple key areas: Classical, Christian and Community.

Our home education program covers K-4 to college credit and includes college degree opportunities for parents, as well. We believe that you are the best educator for your student, and we make the homeschool journey doable. We not only provide you with a consistent roadmap that you can follow at your own pace, but also connect you with a local homeschool community group, giving you accountability and the support of knowing you are not in this journey alone.

From its origins in 1997 with eleven students and parents in the basement of Leigh Bortins’ North Carolina home to proudly serving over 45,000 families now enrolled in its programs spread over 50 countries globally, Classical Conversations always was and always will be about family. The Bortins family has always valued following God’s guidance in teaching other families how to “train up their children in the way that they should go.”

The student workbook is available at no charge at Giron’s website at https://thevictorbook.com/download-the-free-student-workbook-and-chivalry-studies/.

Author Marlayne Giron Announces New Christian Fiction Book, The Victor, An Epic Fantasy Fiction Centered Around Traditional Christian Values

Giron is considered to be a great new voice in Christian Fiction and writes fiction with a mission.

Author Marlayne Giron has announced the release of a new Christian Fiction book, 'The Victor'.

A benevolent king, his sword of power.

A ruthless traitor bent on revenge, and the faithful son who stands in his way with the woman destined to share his throne.

Who shall emerge the victor in this epic battle between good and evil to rule the lives of hapless men?

“I was inspired to write this book by famed music artist, Amy Grant’s song, ‘Fairytale’ as a means to convey the gospel to those who won’t go to church, read the bible, and don’t want to be witnessed to,” Giron stated.

Readers and reviewers have praised the book. Robert Heath, Founder and Director of Kids for Christ/USA, stated, "The Victor is an absolute 'literary masterpiece' that should be required reading in High Schools across the land.

Marlayne Giron is available for media interviews. She can be reached using the information below, or by email at mmgiron@yahoo.com. 'The Victor' is available at online book retailers. More information is available at Giron's website at https://thevictorbook.com.

Teen Suicide Rates And Bullying - Author Andi Katsina's New Release, 'Phat Girl And The Bullies', Offers Parents And Kids Hope

Andi Katsina writes epic fantasy, sci-fi and thriller novels. In her latest release, billed as the anti-bullying manifesto, 'fat girl' becomes 'phat girl', one of the coolest girls in school

Teen suicide and bullying are at all-time highs and make headlines nearly every day. A piece on CNN titled 'Suicide rate hit 40-year peak among older teen girls in 2015' presented some appalling facts. Data drawn from the National Center for Health Statistics showed that the suicide rate doubled between 2007 and 2015. The hit Netflix series, '13 Reasons Why' has become extremely popular, in that it helps raise awareness about the tragedy of youth suicide.

One can hardly begin to count the number of stories about bullying. Children as young as 8 years of age have committed suicide due to bullying. CNN, USA Today, ABC - nearly every news organization in America presents yet another bullying story, seemingly every day, day after day. What is the solution?

Awareness, combined with action.

Author Andi Katsina hopes to help create that awareness and offers a path to empowerment. Her newest release 'Phat Girl and The Bullies', turns the traditional approach to bully situations on its head. This gritty dark fantasy tale follows a girl bullied to edge of suicide, as she successfully etches out a journey of personal growth from a place of extreme despair. Her visits to an alternate world, a reflection of her own world, provides guided realizations wherein she finds the strength, and know how, to not only put an end to her own bully situation, but become a young advocate promoting the school anti-bullying policy and more. Her goal is to get readers to stand strong against teen suicide and school bullying.

"This is an extremely important book," Katsina stated. "It has a powerful message and is pivotal in empowering those who are victims of bullying. Aimed at teens, it takes a strong stand against teen suicide and school bullying.

"Bullying affects a huge proportion of society in that nearly everyone knows someone, be it a friend, sister, brother, parent, grandchild, uncle, aunt... who has been bullied. The fact that people vividly remember being bullied, even in later life, demonstrates how insidious an activity it is. My reason for writing this book was motivated by the growing number of young people who are committing suicide as a direct result of being bullied, and a desire to help protect all those who feel pushed to the edge."

Katsina's latest book offers parents, grandparents and educators an opportunity to take a strong stand against bullying. The book makes an ideal gift for kids, and provides educators with an exceptional tool to help develop solutions, in or out of the classroom.

Andi Katsina is available for media interviews and can be reached using the information below or by email at info@theindieoracle.com. 'Phat Girl And The Bullies' is available at online retailers. More information is available at her website at http://www.andikatsina.com.

About Andi Katsina:

Andi Katsina began writing at age 9, spending hours losing herself in writing plays as a way of escaping the dread situation that was life in an orphanage. Six years and dozens of plays later, she had to give up writing to concentrate on surviving. Picking up her pen once more, almost twenty years ago. . . she began writing under her own name in 2006. She has written over twenty books.

Jail Time For Exercising Religious Freedom In America - Christians Must Stand Firm In The War On Christianity Says Author John DeFilippis

Dr. DeFilippis believes our society has reached an all-time low and that it is time for Christians to take the lead in reversing our moral decline. If we fail, he believes "our children will inherit a depraved, soulless society that is destined to implode."

The question on nearly everybody's mind today is: Where do we draw the line in regards to religious freedom?  On one hand we believe religious freedom is a right held by all Americans.  On the other hand we see Kim Davis jailed for standing her ground and refusing to issue marriage licenses to gay couples, resulting in jail time. Today. In America.

Freedom may be the wrong word, for if freedom is not total it's not really freedom at all. It is something else entirely.  There is no such thing as partial freedom. Certainly we must exercise that freedom within the boundaries of law. When two sets of laws clash however, one must be chosen as the ruling standard. In this case it appears as though the law of man has taken the higher position.

Dr. John DeFilippis, author of a number of Christian fiction fantasy novels, believes the persecution of Kim Davis should be seen as a call to rally all Christians worldwide.

"The unthinkable has finally happened," DeFilippis stated. "What we've learned from the jailing of Kim Davis is that Americans can now be imprisoned for exercising their religious freedom. I suppose it was inevitable given the direction our society has been going, but I honestly never believed it would happen so soon."

The war on religion is exemplified in my series of novels, which depicts a society that loses its faith and begins to persecute those who believe in a higher power. Scribes and priests are thrown in jail, and all references to religious faith are eliminated from educational institutions. The end result is a tyrannical, oppressive regime that tramples on the rights of its citizens and essentially deifies itself.

If there is one thing I know, it's that no government can ever take the place of God. It actually saddens me that my novels have become so prophetic, but hopefully they will aid in the effort to rally people of faith in the face of such blatant persecution.

As Christians, we must take the lead and do all we can to reverse the precipitous moral decline that has occurred over the past several decades. The characters in my books face the same long odds when their kingdom falls into the hands of men who despise anything remotely having to do with religion. Though on the surface they seem overmatched, the protagonists ultimately realize that all things are possible when good people come together and unite in faith. I hope that we can do the same. If we fail, then our children will inherit a depraved, soulless society that is destined to implode."

In the tradition of J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis, DeFilippis' books offer a message of faith and hope while remaining true to the epic fantasy fiction form. Crossroad Press recently released John DeFilippis’ fourth novel, 'The Last of the Thirteen'. 'The Last of the Thirteen' is the final volume of DeFilippis’ epic fantasy series, 'The Medallion of Mavinor'. John's works have been compared to 'The Lord Of The Rings' and 'Game Of Thrones'.

The characters in DeFilippis' novels wage an epic battle that could well determine the fate of the world. But as the conflict comes to a head, all of them realize one thing—they will need more than just courage and might to win the day. For the most lethal weapon they wield is neither sword nor shield, but rather the faith that resides deep in their hearts.

"Like the characters in my books, the greatest weapon we have in our arsenal is our faith. It is my hope that Christians everywhere will also take up the fight and that they too will realize that if God is with us, then who can possibly be against us?”

Dr. John DeFilippis is available for media interviews and can be reached using the information below. All of DeFilippis' titles are available in print, ebook and pdf formats at Crossroad Press. More information is available at John DeFilippis’ website at http://www.DrJohnDeFilippis.com.

Attacking Christians Is The 'New Politically Correct' - Author John DeFilippis Issues Statement

Dr. John DeFilippis, author of 3 fantasy fiction books written for Christian readers, believes it is time for Christians everywhere to take a stand to defend their Christian belief system and religious freedom, or that belief system could be gone from society forever

From the White House to national television networks to the Middle East and beyond, to wage attack on Christians seems to have become the only safe, 'politically correct' position. Dr. John DeFilippis believes that the time has come for Christians to take a stand to protect their religious freedom.

In a piece by Todd Starnes, recounted on the Fox News website, HGTV recently pulled "Flip It Forward" from the lineup after David Benham, co-host of the show in production and son of evangelical pastor Flip Benham, was labeled an "anti-gay extremist". According to Starnes, gay rights activists accused the evangelical Christian hosts of being anti-gay as well as “anti-choice” for their stance on abortion.

Another article by Benjamin Weinthal discussed a recent report by the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom in which it was revealed that "Christians are under seige in the Middle East." The report showed that the number of Christians in the Middle East is now at 10 percent of the overall population. In 2011 the number was 25 percent. The report also revealed that as of February 2014, 40 Christians were either in prison or had been detained as the result of religious beliefs and/or activities.

"I never thought I’d see the day," DeFilippis stated, "when those who defend the sanctity of life and marriage were labeled 'anti-gay, anti-choice extremists,' and would stand to lose their livelihood as a result. Not only is America doing nothing to stop Christian persecution abroad, but our nation is also facilitating it right here at home. History is coming full circle, and while there may not be imminent plans to construct a Colosseum and start throwing Christians to the lions, the government, media, and myriad secular progressive groups are attacking us in other ways in an attempt to destroy our reputations, our livelihoods, and our religious freedom. The most frightening part of it all is that they are actually succeeding. If we don't start banding together and fighting back, the Judeo-Christian values on which our nation was built will be gone from our society forever."

Dr. John DeFilippis writes epic fantasy fiction for Christian readers. In the tradition of J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis, his novels bring to mind the adventure and excitement of Jason and the Argonauts, The Odyssey, and the Arthurian legend of the Holy Grail.

‘The Quest of the Thirteen’ and ‘The Birth of Malgyron’ are the first two volumes of DeFilippis’ epic fantasy series titled ‘The Medallion of Mavinor.’ The series starts with thirteen loyal subjects being selected and trained to make an arduous quest to retrieve the long lost Medallion of Mavinor. Together they work against nearly impossible odds— rugged terrain, mythical beasts, death-defying adventures and, worst of all, betrayal in their ranks—in order to complete their mission. In the sequel, an evil plot is hatched to overthrow the king, one that has dire consequences not only for the kingdom of Mavinor, but for the entire world. The heroes of the story are forced to band together and fight to thwart the plot before it is too late.

The just-released third volume of the series, 'The Crusade Against Darkness,' picks up where 'The Birth of Malgyron' left off. When the forces of good finally mobilize in an attempt to reclaim Mavinor, they realize that they cannot afford to fail in their crusade or the world as they once knew it will be gone forever.

Ultimately the novels are about an extraordinary effort to resurrect a kingdom and the faith of its people in a world where that faith is quickly waning. They serve as an allegory for the assault on Christianity in modern-day society. While the work is classified as epic fantasy fiction, traditional Christian values lie at the very heart of the story and Dr. DeFilippis considers himself to be a Christian author. He is a devout conservative Catholic, and an avid supporter of religious freedom in an age of growing secularism.

“Christians today are facing the same challenges as the characters in my books,” DeFilippis said, “and if they don’t wake up and fight back, then they’ll also face the possibility that the world they once knew will be gone forever.”

Dr. John DeFilippis is available for media interviews and can be reached using the information below or by email at jdefilippis@optonline.net. ‘The Quest of the Thirteen’ and the sequel, ‘The Birth of Malgyron’, are available in print, ebook and pdf formats from Crossroad Press. ‘The Quest of the Thirteen’ is also available in audiobook format. Religious Freedom Movement And The Arizona Anti-Gay Bill: Author John DeFilippis Issues Statement

Dr. John DeFilippis, author of 3 fantasy fiction books written for Christian readers, believes it is time for Christians everywhere to take a stand to defend their Christian belief system and religious freedom

A recent article on the CNN website stated that the veto of Arizona's anti-gay bill would likely not put an end to the religious freedom movement. The article also lists 12 other states which have begun crafting legislation to help protect those who make decisions based on religious principles. Dr. John DeFilippis believes that the time has come for Christians to take a stand to protect their religious freedom.

"I’m not surprised," DeFilippis stated, "that the religious freedom movement is starting to take shape. For years now public schools have been confiscating bibles and rosaries from students, and having them turn their shirts inside out if it depicts an image of Christ. There have been lawsuits filed to remove crosses from memorials, monuments of the Ten Commandments from courthouses, and Nativity scenes from public buildings. But I believe that the contraception mandate in Obamacare was the last straw. For the federal government to be fighting a legal battle against the Little Sisters of the Poor—whose ministry in the United States dates back to 1868—is shameful and outrageous. Thus the time has come for those who believe in freedom of religion to take a stand and fight back."

2,123 Christians Killed For Faith In 2013 – Dr. John DeFilippis Urges Christians To Take A Stand

2,123 Christians were killed last year due to their faith. This number is nearly double the number from 2012. Dr. John DeFilippis, author of ‘The Quest of the Thirteen’ and ‘The Birth of Malgyron,’ believes it is time for Christians to take a stand

In a recent article posted on the Fox News website, Open Doors, a group that tracks the number of persecuted Christians worldwide, revealed that 2,123 Christians were killed for the faith in 2013. This number is up considerably from the 2012 figure of 1,201. Dr. John DeFilippis, Christian author of ‘The Quest of the Thirteen’ and ‘The Birth of Malgyron,’ believes it is time for Christians to take a stand.

“History is coming full circle,” DeFilippis stated, “for the war on Christianity is clearly becoming more hostile and expansive. As the number of martyrs continues to grow, one can’t help but feel as though our present-day society is reverting back to the days of Nero and the brutal persecutions he carried out in an attempt to extirpate the Christians. But just as Nero fiddled while Rome burned, so the majority of today’s Christians are standing idly by as Muslims, atheists, and secular progressives launch unceasing attacks against our faith.”

New Christian Fantasy Fiction Novel By John DeFilippis Compared To Lord Of The Rings And Game Of Thrones

The Quest Of The Thirteen by New Jersey author John DeFilippis features thirteen men on a quest to save a kingdom and its people.

Dr. John DeFilippis recently released The Quest Of The Thirteen. The new book is an epic fantasy fiction novel for Christian readers. In the tradition of J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis, The Quest Of The Thirteen brings to mind the adventure and excitement of Jason and the Argonauts, The Odyssey, and the Arthurian legend of the Holy Grail. The new release offers a message of faith and hope while remaining true to the epic fantasy fiction format. It has been compared to The Lord Of The Rings and Game Of Thrones.

“I wrote this book,” Dr. DeFilippis stated, “as the fulfillment of a lifelong dream. As a boy, I was quite fond of epic stories such as The Hobbit and The Lord Of The Rings, and longed to one day write my own series of epic fantasy novels. Little did I know that 30 years later I would finally get the opportunity to do so after losing my job during the economic recession. I firmly believe that this is something God inspired and called me to do, and I hope that those who purchase The Quest of the Thirteen will enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it.”

In the storyline, a battle-weary kingdom is in chaos. The people lose their faith as the king is dying with no heir in line. Salvation may lie in a chronicle discovered amongst the dusty tomes in the library of the scribes. A passage describes a medallion of enormous power that holds the key not only to saving the kingdom but to identifying the future king. Thirteen loyal subjects are selected and trained to make the arduous quest to retrieve the medallion. Together they work against nearly impossible odds— rugged terrain, mythical beasts, death-defying adventures and, worst of all, betrayal in their ranks.

“Readers will enjoy this book,” DeFilippis continued, “whether they’re looking to strengthen their religious faith, be inspired in some way, or simply just searching for an exciting fantasy novel that features death-defying adventures and battles with mythical monsters. The array of diverse characters makes it possible for everyone to find a character they can relate to and root for throughout the course of the book. Laid on a strong moral foundation, The Quest Of The Thirteen is laden with Christian themes, biblical references, and aspects of spirituality that will make it appealing to any Christian reader, even those who otherwise might not be interested in the fantasy genre. But the religious overtones are also subtle enough that anyone who wishes to read it purely as a thrilling, epic adventure story can do just that.”

Dr. John DeFilippis is available for media interviews and can be reached using the information below. The Quest Of The Thirteen is available in print, ebook and pdf formats at Crossroad Press. An audio version of the book is available at Audible.com. More information is available at John DeFilippis’ website at http://www.DrJohnDeFilippis.com.
