Helping Homeless Cats Find Homes - Milan's First Cat Cafe Working To Open Doors

Caffe Mici Amici's goal is to help homeless cats find forever homes and to help cat lovers connect with homeless and abused cats

All over the world, cat cafes have skyrocketed in popularity. Why? They help cats find both temporary and permanent homes. And they help cat lovers connect with homeless and abused cats.

Caffe Mici Amici's goal is to provide a forever home for every homeless and abused cat in the city of Milan, Italy. They have launched a crowd funding campaign on Indiegogo to gather resources to open Milan Italy's first cat cafe. The new cafe has two important goals - help cats and help people who love cats.

Their first goal is to give a chance to as many shelter cats as possible to find their forever home. They will have many exciting activities and special speakers to help shelter kitties find homes and will be working closely with the shelters and Animal Protection Agency in Milan.

Their second goal is to have a place where people from all walks of life can have a cup of coffee, something delicious to eat in a friendly, relaxing, and stress-free environment, all the while spending quality time playing with kitties.

In addition they will be tapping into the artistic talents of local artists and sculptors to display their works in their art gallery and creating job opportunities in a challenging economy.

The crowd funding campaign, headed by Judith Moore-Shahverdian, will allow the cafe to:

* Lease a property to create this unique cat cafe in accordance with health and safety standards both for kitties and humans.

* Purchase furniture, equipment, and stock for both cats and customers and to set up services for customers such as internet access.

* Select the Mici Amici Cats, especially older cats who are less adoptable because of their age, and giving them a forever home. All cats will be under a vet's supervision, neutered, vaccinated, and micro-chipped. Once the cats and kitties are selected, they will be given a "getting-to-know-you" period, both with each other and humans, at Caffè Mici Amici.

The Caffe Mici Amici crowd funding campaign begins May 14, 2014. Judith Moore-Shahverdian is available for media interviews and general inquiries.
