Author Roland Allnach Chosen As One Of '50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading' for 2013 - 2014

Allnach was chosen as the result of a public voting process.  His work, entitled ‘Oddities & Entities’, is a multi-award winning anthology of six tales in the supernatural and paranormal genres

Roland Allnach, author of ‘Oddities & Entities’, has been chosen as one of ’50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading’. The awards were sponsored by The Authors Show. His win secures a place in ’50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading’, an annual publication that will be available in January 2014.

‘Oddities & Entities’ is a multi-award winning anthology of six tales in the supernatural and paranormal genres, exploring a definition of life beyond the fragile vessel of the human body. Set in the mysterious space between the everyday world and an existence just beyond reach, these tales take readers through surreal experiences rich with horror, dark humor, and philosophical transcendence.

“I'm honored,” stated Allnach, “to be among the '50 Great Writers You Should be Reading' because it fulfills my ambition as a writer to connect with readers.  As an author, the only thing that surpasses the thrill of creating stories is to discover that readers have found meaning and depth to my writing.  The literary world is so rich and diverse that to be able to stake a claim among the public's awareness as a notable narrative voice is really something beyond my expectation.”

'Oddities & Entities' has received numerous awards including National Indie Excellence Awards, Readers Favorite Book of the Year Awards, USA Book News Best Book Awards, and ForeWord Reviews Book of the Year Awards. Allnach's literary aspirations are shaped by masters such as Tolstoy, Shakespeare, Homer, and Kafka in the importance of character and story depth.

“I wrote 'Oddities & Entities' to offer fans of horror, supernatural, and the paranormal something different,” Allnach continued,  “in the form of a thematically linked anthology.  I love to work with novella length stories for the immediacy of their characters and narrative momentum, but to thread them with themes that present a greater, unspoken message is a chance to elevate the stories to a sum greater than its respective parts.  It also allowed me to explore more subtle elements to create a pervasive, unnerving, Gothic dread that readers attest lingers with them long after the last page.”

Roland Allnach is available for media interviews and can be reached using the information below, or by email at fiction@rolandallnach.com. ‘Oddities & Entities’ is available at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, All Things That Matter Press and from his website. The book is available in Audible, Kindle, Nook and print formats. More information is available at his website at http://www.rolandallnach.com.

Profile:

Roland Allnach has been writing since his teens, but did not actively seek publication until 2007. He has numerous published short stories to his credit, one of which was a 2010 Pushcart Prize nominee, as well as two books, ‘Remnant’ (2010) and ‘Oddities & Entities’ (2012).  Both titles are recipients of multiple national awards, including National Indie Excellence Awards, Readers Favorite Book of the Year Awards, USA Book News Best Book Awards, and ForeWord Reviews Book of the Year Awards.  Roland’s literary inspirations arise from classic literature, history, and mythology, and his aim is to invest his stories and characters with a complexity and depth that continue to reward upon repeated readings.

Joseph Badal, author of ‘The Nostradamus Secret’, has been named one of ’50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading’. His honors came as a result of his appearance on The Authors Show. Badal was chosen from a field of hundreds of authors through a public voting process. ‘The Nostradamus Secret’, an historical thriller, builds on Nostradamus’s lost 58 quatrains.

“I was thrilled,” stated Mr. Badal, “to be included in The Authors Show's 2011 edition of ‘50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading’. This recognition is an affirmation of my writing and further encourages my commitment to the art.”

This latest historical thriller in the Bob Danforth series builds on Nostradamus’s ‘lost’ 58 quatrains and segues to present day. These lost quatrains have surfaced in the hands of a wealthy Iranian megalomaniac who believes his rise to world power was prophesied by Nostradamus. But he sees the United States as the principal obstacle to the achievement of his goals. The first step he takes is to attempt to destabilize the United States through a vicious series of terrorist attacks and assassinations. The novel offers up an action-packed story loaded with intrigue, fascinating characters and geopolitical machinations that put the reader on the front line of present-day international conflict. Readers are transported from a 16th century French monastery to the CIA, to crime scenes, to the Situation Room at the White House and to Middle Eastern battlefields.

In his review of 'The Nostradamus Secret', New York Times best-selling author Tony Hillerman said, “The Nostradamus Secret is an amazingly intricate tale of international intrigue, political deception and terrorism. Joe Badal delivers a gripping, fast-paced story that carries the reader on a wild ride and, once again, weaves a fascinating historical context into the fabric of this contemporary thriller. A must-read for fans of Ludlum and Clancy. “
