Author Roland Allnach Chosen As One Of '50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading' for 2013 - 2014
Roland Allnach, author of ‘Oddities & Entities’, has been chosen as one of ’50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading’. The awards were sponsored by The Authors Show. His win secures a place in ’50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading’, an annual publication that will be available in January 2014.
‘Oddities & Entities’ is a multi-award winning anthology of six tales in the supernatural and paranormal genres, exploring a definition of life beyond the fragile vessel of the human body. Set in the mysterious space between the everyday world and an existence just beyond reach, these tales take readers through surreal experiences rich with horror, dark humor, and philosophical transcendence.
“I'm honored,” stated Allnach, “to be among the '50 Great Writers You Should be Reading' because it fulfills my ambition as a writer to connect with readers. As an author, the only thing that surpasses the thrill of creating stories is to discover that readers have found meaning and depth to my writing. The literary world is so rich and diverse that to be able to stake a claim among the public's awareness as a notable narrative voice is really something beyond my expectation.”
'Oddities & Entities' has received numerous awards including National Indie Excellence Awards, Readers Favorite Book of the Year Awards, USA Book News Best Book Awards, and ForeWord Reviews Book of the Year Awards. Allnach's literary aspirations are shaped by masters such as Tolstoy, Shakespeare, Homer, and Kafka in the importance of character and story depth.
“I wrote 'Oddities & Entities' to offer fans of horror, supernatural, and the paranormal something different,” Allnach continued, “in the form of a thematically linked anthology. I love to work with novella length stories for the immediacy of their characters and narrative momentum, but to thread them with themes that present a greater, unspoken message is a chance to elevate the stories to a sum greater than its respective parts. It also allowed me to explore more subtle elements to create a pervasive, unnerving, Gothic dread that readers attest lingers with them long after the last page.”
Roland Allnach is available for media interviews and can be reached using the information below, or by email at fiction@rolandallnach.com. ‘Oddities & Entities’ is available at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, All Things That Matter Press and from his website. The book is available in Audible, Kindle, Nook and print formats. More information is available at his website at http://www.rolandallnach.com.
Profile:
Roland Allnach has been writing since his teens, but did not actively seek publication until 2007. He has numerous published short stories to his credit, one of which was a 2010 Pushcart Prize nominee, as well as two books, ‘Remnant’ (2010) and ‘Oddities & Entities’ (2012). Both titles are recipients of multiple national awards, including National Indie Excellence Awards, Readers Favorite Book of the Year Awards, USA Book News Best Book Awards, and ForeWord Reviews Book of the Year Awards. Roland’s literary inspirations arise from classic literature, history, and mythology, and his aim is to invest his stories and characters with a complexity and depth that continue to reward upon repeated readings.

Michigan Author Solease M. Barner Releases New Mystery Book 'Awakens', Second In The 'Secrets Of The Ghosts' Trilogy
Author Solease M. Barner has released 'Awakens'. The new mystery book is the second in the 'Secrets Of The Ghosts' suspense trilogy. The new thriller, like the first, is a work incorporating suspense, fantasy, espionage and murder. The books, written in the tradition of 'The Bourne Identity', center on a group of sisters who are female assassins.
The protagonist in 'Awakens', Holiday Towley, is a wife, mother, wedding planner and secret government assassin. Holiday’s life was complicated enough when all she had to do was plan weddings and kill people. Now with her daughter threatened by the people she should have been able most to trust, and her marriage threatened by the handsome and enigmatic David, she faces the ruin of all she has worked for.
"This book," stated Ms. Barner, "continues the story of Holiday. It will give readers more of an insight into her childhood and her special gift. In 'Awakens' readers will really be able to connect with Holiday. I really enjoyed writing 'Awakens', as readers really get to see the sisters in action more and that was fun to write."
Holiday is now facing more than just a mother who has betrayed her. She is now facing truths about herself including love, family and her biological mother. Holiday learns more about her bloodline and how she is different from others. The second installment answers many questions from 'The Sleeper', while creating even more mystery in anticipation of the third installment.
"This book had to be written", Barner continued, "to help explain Holiday and where she comes from. 'Awakens' provides explanations for many of the things that take place in 'The Sleeper'."
Solease M. Barner follows in the footsteps of her favorite authors - John Grisham, Terry McMillian, and Stephanie Meyer. Underlying her storylines is a message - when adversity arises it is family who will be there in times of need. Readers will more deeply appreciate their own families after reading her work.
Both titles are available at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Goodreads, Kobo, iTunes, Smashwords and All Romance-Omni Lit. Both are available for Kindle, Nook, iPhone and iPad.

Cindy Huefner Cromer, Author Of 'Desperate Measures' Chosen As One Of '50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading'
Cindy Huefner Cromer, author of 'Desperate Measures', has been chosen as one of '50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading'. Winners will appear in this year’s edition of the book. Cromer was chosen as the result of her appearance on The Authors Show Radio.
“This has been such an exciting experience for me" Cindy stated, "as leaping into the literary world has been a whole new business to learn. I have always dreamed of writing a book and now my greatest expectations have become a reality with the publication of my debut mystery suspense novel, 'Desperate Measures'. Being selected as one of the '50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading' has exceeded my aspiration and goals. As a new author in such a competitive industry, I'm thrilled and honored to have achieved this honor and recognition.”
In the story line of 'Desperate Measures', what should have been the perfect vacation soon became a nightmare. Caitlin Martel made a stop before meeting her family at Miami International Airport. A cryptic message waited for her. She dismissed the threat and assumed it was directed toward the brilliant scientist that she recently hired. Caitlin has no idea that a forgotten secret was about to explode and put her life in jeopardy. When Caitlin and her family arrive on the Caribbean Island of St. Kitts, they find their dream home vandalized. In the kitchen, another message has been left. In blood, leaving no doubt that Caitlin personally is the target. In a flashback Caitlin recalls the secret that her father, Jack Spencer, revealed to her sixteen years ago. He didn’t tell her everything. Will Jack be able to confront the truth and reconstruct the past in time to save his daughter? Caitlin’s husband Scott, FBI Assistant Director, also believes the threats are related to Caitlin’s professional life. Once Caitlin points out the significance of what was left in their home, Scott unofficially brings his top FBI agent, Tomas Medina, to St. Kitts. When Tomas arrives, his status is quickly upgraded and the investigation becomes official. The third threat creates a direct link to multi-billionaire Lukas Bucklin. The suspense escalates through twists, turns, and family secrets yet to be revealed. A powerful climax unveils an unlikely alliance between two deadly and dangerous enemies.
"Ever since I was little," Cindy continued, "I’ve been an avid reader. I always said one day I’d write a book, if I ever had the time. My family teased me mercilessly about reading and encouraged me to write a book, since I had read so many. I gave it a shot, started typing away, and created Caitlin, the protagonist. I gave her a career utilizing my scientific and executive background. Since my favorite genre is mystery and suspense, I thought about a story I’d like to read. It didn’t take long for a plot and ending to formulate. In writing this first book I’ve achieved my dream and have continued on with a second book."
Cindy Huefner Cromer is available for media interviews and can be reached using the information below, or by email at thecromers@comcast.net. 'Desperate Measures’ is available at Amazon.com and other online outlets. More information is available at her website, Cindy’s Writing Studio at http://www.cindyhuefnercromer.com.

Author Tom O'Grady, Jr. Releases ‘Degree of Difficulty’ In Paperback And EBook Formats

Set in Acapulco in the seventies, a hot spot for the rich and famous, the plot of 'Degree of Difficulty' centers around cliff diving and, in the tradition of Hitchcock movies, sweeps the reader along in a mixture of suspense, murder and romance
Author Tom O'Grady Jr. recently released his second novel, 'Degree Of Difficulty'. The book is now available in both paperback and Kindle formats.
Ian Connors, a young professional with a desire to succeed in the business world, sets off on a vacation to fulfill his childhood dream; to dive the cliffs of Acapulco. A trained diver, Ian knows the risks, but little does he know that the most dangerous part of his trip won’t be the Dive. Led by Manny Arroyo, a smiling twelve year old tour guide with a heart of gold, Ian and his friend Spook take in the beauty of Acapulco Bay and its surroundings, including Robyn Baldwin and her girlfriends. But ever-present behind the beauty lurks the ugly reality of greed, and a cast of devious characters who will do anything necessary to get what they want. In the world of competition diving every dive has an assigned Degree of Difficulty. Standing eighty five feet above the churning waters of the canyon at La Quebrada and the corrupt world he’s stumbled into, Ian must make the most difficult decision of his life; step to the edge and make a leap of faith, or run away.
"I had a lot of fun writing this book," stated Mr. O'Grady, "because the plot twists and turns. You never know what might happen on the next page but you want to find out. Even I wanted to find out. It’s like being on the edge of a cliff with the main character, Ian Connors.”
Set in Acapulco in the seventies, a hot spot for the rich and famous, 'Degree of Difficulty' sweeps the reader along like a Hitchcock movie, from the downtown canyons of Philadelphia to the blue water canyon of La Quebrada, twisting and turning like the treacherous mountain roads of Mexico.
"I find Ian Connors to be an interesting character," stated Mr. O'Grady, "who will probably end up in future books. Readers will want to get to a beach or curl up in a chair because they won’t want to get up till the last word."
Tom O'Grady is available for media interviews and can be reached using the information below. More information is available at his website. 'Degree Of Difficulty' is available at Amazon.com, Barnes and Noble and at most book retailers. The book is available in Kindle, Nook, Sony EReader, Apple Ipad and other digital formats.
