50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading Awards Contest 2016 Voting Now Open

The awards contest, sponsored by The Authors Show, allows contestants to build ongoing publicity for all of their books

Danielle Hampson, Executive Producer of The Authors Show has announced that voting is now open for '50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading', an annual book awards contest that stand apart from other awards programs.

While many awards programs focus on the book, '50 Great Writers' instead focuses on the artist behind the book. Authors must build long-term platforms to create ongoing sales and achieve success. People buy books because of the personality behind the work. A great book has very little long-term market value if the author remains relatively anonymous. It is for this reason the awards contest focuses sharply on the real story and the personality behind the book.

If a book receives an award, it is good for that work only. If the author instead receives an award, all prior and future books by the author will benefit long term.

Award contests should be viewed as a marketing tool and should be an integral part of the marketing strategies designed by all authors.  It takes time to win awards. The more awards authors win the more recognition for their work they stand to receive, and that helps sell books. If the author is recognized for exceptional talent that will effect all future marketing efforts positively.

The awards program is also different from the perspective that voting is done by the public. Contestants benefit from  a continuous publicity outreach through media releases, on social media platforms and through other behind the scene marketing efforts throughout the duration of the contest that lasts several months.

Both contest finalists and winners receive an official digital seal they may use on their websites, blogs and in other ways to signify their status in the  '50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading' contest.  This can help them greatly increase their credibility with the public, agents, publishers, the media and book buyers through the prestige of being selected as either a finalist or a winner. Both finalists and winners may publicize this with no time limits.

Winners are presented in the book, available to the public, with the author's photo, website address, book title(s), and the author's unique story (the essay as submitted through the contest). Winners may also state they have been featured in '50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading' in any of their own marketing materials. This produces instant credibility, a third party endorsement and a lot of marketing value.

Winners are featured on dedicated 50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading website, and can benefit from substantial outreach in both present and future ongoing marketing and publicity campaigns; in addition winners have the option to also display seals from other outside awards on that site.

Winners receive ongoing recognition and can use their winner status as marketing and publicity tools in hundreds of ways to increase sales. There is no time limit.
