Bestselling Author And NFPW National Award Winner Jody Sharpe Hopes To Inspire A Kinder World For Our Children's Sake Through Literature

As a former teacher of special needs children, Sharpe has direct experience regarding the effect bullying has on children. Her award-winning, bestselling books help readers find hope, inspiration and gratitude.

Children learn by watching adults. They are watching us now. What are they seeing?

War. Political division. Bullying. Mass shootings. A society being torn apart by intolerance and the rejection of diversity.

As adults, we should contemplate the toll these take on our children's capacity to foster empathy, communication, and cooperation. Bestselling author Jody Sharpe believes we should instead instill in our youth the core human values of love, understanding, and respect. In doing so, we not only foster a climate of harmony and unity, but also pave the way for a world that welcomes diversity, allowing individuals from varied backgrounds to peacefully coexist, collaborate, and flourish. She addressed this recently in an article posted on her website at https://jodyshare.com. In that post she said, in part:

In this time of war raging in parts of the world, it’s hard for me to write about angels but I know I must. I must because man’s inhumanity to man is affecting our treasures, our children. I pray that God and the angels help our earth’s population to eliminate the hate and find peace.

In my own little corner of the world all I can do is write, pray, hope and yearn for peace. Our earth’s children need us to stop and think about them, if only for them and not the prejudice and hate that is trying to ruin our precious blue planet.

Don’t people see what it is doing to the children? The PTSD, the fear, the beginnings of hate are evident everywhere. We see it in other parts of the world but also at home in our politics, in our school yards and streets. Love always wins and it’s the only way to win. Forgiveness, working together to create a better world, is totally possible. All goodness is possible I know this in my heart. We must never let the bully and hate win.

Sharpe's message resonates with readers, offering a beacon of hope. She passionately champions the transformative influence of uplifting literature, which can provide a ray of optimism in the face of depression and anxiety. Her anti-bullying message illuminates a path towards healing and resilience. Readers will discover in her books a profound shift in perspective that will carry over into their daily lives. They serve as an invitation to view the world through a different lens, one that empowers us to find the strength within to see the good in all people.

Her most recent work, 20 Moon Road, An Angel's Tale, features a character from her Mystic Bay series, Madam Norma. Madam Norma is based on a woman who influenced Sharpe's life in a number of unforgettable ways.

Diane Donovan at Midwest Book Review stated, "Do angels come to children with special needs? In Mystic Bay, they do. As the truth emerges about the town's makeup, history, and mission, readers become immersed in a spiritual story of angels and beliefs that drive positive changes and kindness in the world and spread beyond the small town of angels.

"Sharpe's Mystic Bay series embodies hope, belief, the power of conviction and angel influences, and the acts of kindness that lead humanity on a better, gentler path. 20 Moon Road's revelations of relationships with Madame Norma that changed lives and transformed beliefs through documented angel sightings by special needs children makes for a warm tale of revelation and discovery that explores guardian angels, lasting legacies, and blessings.

"Libraries and readers looking for blends of fantasy and spiritual examination will welcome the Mystic Bay series as a whole and this latest addition in particular, which expands the nature, purposes, and insights of Mystic Bay upon the larger world outside its borders."

Mark Walker of Midwest Book Review said, "The last paragraph reflects the unique vision and mysticism, which exudes throughout this book:

As we fly away from the beach on a mission to help someone in need, I know what God and all angels know and what Madam Norma always shared. Only love can mend our hearts and our Earth. Only love can set us free. Madam Norma's life was simply made of pure love, for as she told me once, 'Kindness is the first ingredient of love.'

"I look forward to someday seeing the Mystic Bay Series on the Hallmark TV channel!"

Special Needs Children, The Angels On My Shoulder is a memoir based on her twenty-five years teaching children with special needs. With hearts of angels and challenges to face, the children took Sharpe along their journeys and inspired her own life's journey of self-discovery. When sorrow came, their kindness helped her through. The synchronicity of events from high school to retirement changed her life for the better, turning her face toward heaven.

Midwest Book Review stated, "Sharpe's ability to see the good in circumstances and people identifies the 'special' in 'special needs' as she delineates her journey through the education system and those teaching and social encounters which changed her perspective and life."

"Teachers (especially those working with special needs kids) will find this spiritual and social reflection easily accessible. It's presented in vignettes which offer small, digestible bites of insight into a world where angels and kindness are present in more than one form."

Special Needs Children followed her recently released children's book about angels, When The Angel Sent Butterflies. The new book helps children understand that love from their parents and others surrounds them. Love conquers fear, and believing that angels are near can help sweep any childhood fear away. Bestselling Author Jody Sharpe Takes First Place Nationally In 2023 National Federation Of Press Women's Professional Communications Contest With New Novella, 20 Moon Road

As a former teacher of special needs children, Sharpe has direct experience regarding the effect bullying has on children. Her award-winning, bestselling books help readers find hope, inspiration and gratitude.

Bestselling author Jody Sharpe has announced that her bestselling novella, 20 Moon Road, An Angel's Tale, has taken first place honors at the National level in the National Federation of Press Women's annual Professional Communications Contest.

A glimpse of today's news headlines, where turmoil, violence, and endless political discord dominate the narrative, shows us why Sharpe's message resonates so with readers, offering a beacon of hope. She passionately champions the transformative influence of uplifting literature, which can provide a ray of optimism in the face of depression and anxiety. Her anti-bullying message illuminates a path towards healing and resilience.

While there is an escape from reality certainly, readers will also discover a profound shift in perspective that will carry over into their daily lives. It's an invitation to view the world through a different lens, one that empowers us to find the strength within to see the good in all people.

20 Moon Road: An Angel's Tale features a character from her Mystic Bay series, Madam Norma. Madam Norma is based on a woman who influenced Sharpe's life in a number of unforgettable ways.

Diane Donovan at Midwest Book Review stated, "Do angels come to children with special needs? In Mystic Bay, they do. Only love can set us free. Madam Norma's life was simply made of pure love, for as she told me once, 'Kindness is the first ingredient of love.'

"I look forward to someday seeing the Mystic Bay Series on the Hallmark TV channel!"

In a recent post on her site, Sharpe stated, "I just watched the film, Alice and Wonderland, with my grandchildren. What a powerful message the children’s story presents about friendship and standing up to bullying. The queen in the film reminded me of some of the politicians and media personalities of today.

"To me the ugliness of the bully personality is at risk. Why? Because the courageous self esteem it takes to stand up to a bully will always win out. I often wonder why everyone can’t work together in a more civilized manner as role models for our children. I remember twice being bullied as a child. Though it was decades ago, I still remember the hurt and anguish it caused.

"On our TV’s and cell phones we are bombarded with the criticizing and name calling of others that depicts these despicable traits of the bullies who, to me, are all cowards. As in Alice In Wonderland, the queen doesn’t win in the end. Alice ends up with the friendships and the powerful courage needed to thwart the Queen.

"I write novels about angels. And I’m happy to say, in my fantasy writing mind, there is always a bully character. But in every one of the novels, the bully learns a lesson and ultimately moves in a new direction towards kindness. The possibility of change is always present. Every one of us has the power to stop the bully in their tracks and to teach them by our actions."

Read Stirring Stories Of Irish History, In Celebration Of St. Patrick's Day, From Bestselling Author Donna Fletcher Crow

Donna Fletcher Crow’s gripping saga of Celtic history continues with Part II, Ireland: The Pursuit of Peace. Crow writes meticulously researched, entertaining novels of romance, history, adventure and mystery in an engaging you-are-there style that allows readers to live the history. Reviewers have compared her work with PD James, Dan Brown and Barbara Pym.

According to Wikipedia, St. Patrick's Day is a cultural and religious celebration held on March 17, the traditional date of death of Saint Patrick, the foremost patron saint of Ireland. We've been celebrating St. Patrick's Day for hundreds of years. While traditional celebrations often involved festivals, parades, shamrocks and the wearing of green attire, today we have added to that mix St. Patrick's Day memes, shirts, clipart, online gifs and images, coloring pages and a host of other Internet resources, such as St. Patricks day quotes, recipes and drink concoctions numbering in the hundreds.

While the historical celebrations may seem a bit mundane and modern day festivities a bit too commercial, both are equally important if we are to understand how we arrived at the place in which we stand today, and what all of it means to us now.

In Donna Fletcher Crow's saga of Celtic history, Ireland: The Pursuit of Peace, she presents the full story of times past and present. She uses this unusual frame novel format so she can develop the story in two time periods—historical and modern. In a recent interview Crow explained, “I wanted to give my readers the experience of what it was like to live in significant, history-making times in the past, and I wanted them to understand the impact those long-ago events still have on life today.

“In the Irish epochs of the Celtic Cross series Mary Hamilton, my American heroine has gone to Belfast to work in a reconciliation center in a still-tumultuous time near the end of the Troubles. She is puzzled and appalled by the violence she sees around her, especially as it affects the lives of the young people she is trying to help. In order to gain understanding, Mary looks into the journals of her host’s family—journals he compiled while in prison for paramilitary activities.

“It’s my hope, as it is Mary’s, that through understanding the roots of animosity we can find our way forward to peace for the future.”

Ireland’s story begins with 'The Planting of Ulster, Of Visionaries and Builders'. In 1996, filled with trepidation, Mary agrees to accompany her fiancé Gareth to Belfast to work for peace. But what if those mad Irish start throwing bombs at each other again? In 1610 Lady Montgomery introduces the planting of potatoes to Scots settlers seeking to make a new life, including Calum Lanark, desperate to make a home for his beloved Deirdre.

In 'The Hammering of the Inhabitancy, Of Brothers and Strangers', Mary, struggling to understand the roots of the unimaginable atrocities she sees around her, uncovers accounts of the horrors of Oliver Cromwell in 17th century Ireland. In 1639 the Lanark family is torn apart as the sons march off to war—on opposing sides.

'The Strife of Ascendancy, Of People and Rulers', tells the story of two women: Mary Hamilton’s hopes for helping the Belfast youth crumble as sectarian strife boils into riots in 1996. Likewise, in 1683, desperately ill Janet Lanark agonizes as her husband and son march off to join King Billy at the Battle of the Boyne.

In the soon-to-be-released 'The Shaping of the Union, Of Plots and Parliaments', in 1996 Mary is determined to leave Ireland when the reconciliation center is burgled and her fiancé is injured. Yet, she is drawn by a sense of sisterhood with the valiant women who risked all for Ireland in 1789. Can Mary Ann McCracken save her brother from the scaffold? Can Lenny uncover the insidious spy bent on bringing all their plans for a revived Ireland to ruin, even as she harbors a secret message?

Donna Fletcher Crow is the author of 50 books, mostly novels of British history. She has taken a number of high-level industry awards for her work. Many of her books have been bestsellers in their categories, including 'A Most Inconvenient Death', which achieved #1 bestseller status in Christian Suspense. 'The Fields of Bannockburn', the epic from which The Celtic Cross Series, Part I: Scotland, The Struggle for a Nation is based, was listed as Fiction Bestseller by Christian Book Distributors and 'The Banks of the Boyne', the epic from which The Celtic Cross Series, Part II: Ireland, The Pursuit of Peace is based, hit #3 Best-Selling Fiction.

'Glastonbury' is her best-known book, which received the prestigious First Place, Historical Novel, award from the National Federation of Press Women. Readers and reviewers have raved about 'Glastonbury', calling it "The best of its kind," "richly fascinating," "beautifully researched," "gloriously evocative," and "panoramic." One Amazon reader said, "WHAT a work! Every reader can be enveloped in the sheer scope and quality, every historian be constantly nodding at the precise detail and accuracy, and every Christian can rejoice in the fullness of scripture. For me it is simply beyond descriptive praise. I would urge all who value truth to treat themselves to a feast."

The Celtic Cross is a 2-part series which begins with Scotland: The Struggle for a Nation. In 4 individual epochs it tells the stories of—'The Keeper of the Stone,’ St. Columba; ‘The Forger of a Nation,’ Kenneth MacAlpin; ‘The Refiner of the Realm,’ Queen Margaret; ‘The Vanquishers of Tyranny,’ William Wallace and Robert the Bruce. The 10-book series will complete in the summer of 2022.

The Elizabeth & Richard Mysteries is a literary suspense series using literary figures as background: Rudyard Kipling in 'The Flame Ignites', Dorothy L Sayers in 'The Shadow of Reality', Shakespeare in 'A Midsummer Eve's Nightmare', and Jane Austen in both 'A Jane Austen Encounter' and 'A Most Singular Venture'. Watch for 'A Prodigious Sum of Corpses: Seeking Sanditon at Jane Austen’s Seashore', which will take readers to all of Austen’s favorite seashore resorts. Accounts of Crow’s visits to these sites are available on her blog under the heading “Jane Austen Seashore Tour.”

The Monastery Murders Series features atmospheric contemporary crimes with their roots buried deep in the middle ages. Books in the series include 'A Very Private Grave', 'A Darkly Hidden Truth', 'An Unholy Communion', 'A Newly Crimsoned Reliquary', 'An All-Consuming Fire' and the newly-released 'Against All Fierce Hostility.'

The Daughters of Courage, 'Kathryn', 'Elizabeth' and 'Stephanie' is a pioneer family saga based on the stories of Crow's own family and other Idaho pioneers in the Kuna, Nampa and Boise area. A short story on her blog entitled “A Nostalgic Fourth of July” is based on a scene from ‘Kathryn: Days of Loss and Hope'.

Where There is Love is a 6-book series of the enduring legacy of love and faith all based on historic people and events. The titles are: ‘Where Love Begins’, ‘Where Love Illumines’, ‘Where Love Triumphs’, ‘Where Love Restores’, ‘Where Love Shines’, and ‘Where Love Calls’.

Valentine's Day Gift Ideas - Bestselling Author Donna Fletcher Crow's Timeless Romance Novels Offer Inspiring Reading for Valentine’s Day

Crow writes meticulously researched, entertaining novels of romance, history, adventure and mystery in an engaging you-are-there style that allows readers to live the history. Reviewers have compared her work with PD James, Dan Brown and Barbara Pym.

According to a Wikipedia article, "The Feast of Saint Valentine was established by Pope Gelasius I in AD 496 to be celebrated on February 14 in honour of Saint Valentine of Rome, who died on that date in AD 269. The day became associated with romantic love in the 14th and 15th centuries when notions of courtly love flourished, apparently by association with the 'lovebirds' of early spring. In 18th-century England, it grew into an occasion in which couples expressed their love for each other by presenting flowers, offering confectionery, and sending greeting cards (known as 'valentines')."

And we've been scrambling to find that one-of-a-kind perfect gift ever since.

Flowers, romantic dinners, candy and cards are appropriate and always delightful, but these gifts are short-lived. This year, we can give a superb gift that can immerse the reader in a romantic experience that can last for many months, if not years.

Where There is Love is a 6-book series of the enduring legacy of love and faith, written by bestselling, award-winning author Donna Fletcher Crow. These are true stories of real people and stirring historic events in England through the 18th and 19th centuries. Society leaders, university dons, famous preachers, celebrated sportsmen, powerful politicians, highwaymen and rogues… Stories told often in their own words as they direct—and are changed by—events of the day.

“Exhaustively researched…Crow’s series is done with great dignity and feeling.” John Mort, Booklist

“A fine novel…Of course, you must have this [series]!” Librarian’s World

“Engrossing reading.” Library Journal

Crow said in a recent interview, “I love telling deeply romantic stories that really happened to people. My Where There is Love Series pictures encounters of the heart that have lived through the centuries as young men and women overcame innumerable obstacles and then went on together to change history in ways that still impact us today.

“My heroes and heroines became living, breathing people to me as I visited their homes, universities, and churches, and read their diaries, letters and biographies so I could tell their stories in a way that would put my readers there, on the spot with them in their struggles and triumphs.”

The 6 book series includes:

Where Love Begins
Can Catherine Perronet find happiness when her beloved Charles Wesley marries another? Catherine undertakes the joys and hardships of a circuit-ride preaching tour to Canterbury where a French invasion threatens, then must face the terrors of the Great London Earthquake before coming to an understanding of the gentle calling God has for her.

Where Love Illumines
Mary Tudway must choose: a life of pleasure amidst London’s high society or a life of faith and service with the devout Rowland Hill? The story moves through the fashionable worlds of London and Bath as the death of one friend, the elopement of another and the startling unveiling of the Highwayman of Hampstead Heath play their parts in illumining Mary’s understanding so she can make a choice of lasting value.

Where Love Triumphs
Charming, brilliant and lame, Sir Brandley Hilliard believes he can do very well without love of any kind in his life—until he meets the captivating Elinor Silbert. Brandley’s search takes a destructive turn until Charles Simeon, Fellow of King’s College, Cambridge, takes the young gownsman under his wing and shows him a life beyond any his academic pursuits had taught him.

Where Love Restores
Granville Ryder’s harsh up-bringing means he must struggle to find his place in his illustrious family, in God’s work, and in Georgiana’s heart. The story moves from Cambridge to the historic Badminton House, to London to Wales, until the terrors of the Cato Street Rebellion (more dangerous than the notorious Guy Fawkes Plot) lead Granville to restoration and love.

Where Love Shines
In Scutari, the charge of the Light Brigade leaves Lt. Richard Grayson blinded and Jennifer Neville, one of Florence Nightengale’s nurses, devastated. Back in London Jennifer throws herself into charity work and is horrified to learn that Richard’s family’s wealth is built on the potteries where children are subjected to unimaginable brutality. The fight for social justice offers a way out of the darkness for both of them.

Bestselling Author Donna Fletcher Crow Announces The Release Of The First Two Historical Fiction Epochs in The Celtic Cross Series, Part II, Ireland: The Pursuit of Peace

Crow writes meticulously researched, entertaining novels of romance, history, adventure and mystery in an engaging you-are-there style that allows readers to live the history. Reviewers have compared her work with PD James, Dan Brown and Barbara Pym.

Bestselling author Donna Fletcher Crow has announced the release of the first two Epochs in The Celtic Cross Series, Part II, Ireland: The Pursuit Of Peace

The Celtic Cross series moves to Ireland as two young people, Gareth from Scotland and Mary from America, go to work in a reconciliation center in Belfast shortly after the 1969 ceasefire in the Troubles.

In Epoch 5, The Planting of Ulster, Of Visionaries and Builders, Mary returns to Scotland in the summer of 1996, her head brimming with wedding plans. But Gareth has quite different ideas. He is off to work in a reconciliation center in Northern Ireland, made possible by the recent ceasefire in the Troubles. Filled with trepidation, Mary agrees to go with him. But what if those mad Irish start throwing bombs at each other again?

Desiring to understand the history of the conflicts that have torn this beautiful island for centuries, Mary turns to their friend’s family journals. In 1610, Calum Lanark, refused the hand of his beloved Deirdre, joins the Scots settlers seeking to make a new life in the Ulster Plantation–where Lady Montgomery introduces planting potatoes into Irish agriculture. Amid new friends and bountiful opportunities, Calum seeks a future where he and Deirdre can live. Until disastrous strife destroys all his efforts.

In Epoch 6, The Hammering of the Inhabitancy, Of Brothers and Strangers, Mary and Gareth continue to struggle with their efforts to help the youth at the reconciliation center in Belfast in 1996, but their work is shattered by sectarian strife. In an effort to understand the roots of the unimaginable atrocities she sees around her, Mary turns to accounts of 17th century Ireland.

In 1639 the Lanark family is torn apart as the sons march off to war—on opposing sides. But at least the women will be safe behind the strong walls of their fortress. Won’t they? And then Oliver Cromwell arrives at the head of his New Model Army in one of the most turbulent periods of all the long, troubled history of Ireland.

What Readers say about The Banks of the Boyne, from which the Celtic Cross Series, Part II is taken:

“This book tore at my heart as I read through the bitter history of Ireland. A must read for all who have even the smallest bit of Irish blood. The passion of the Irish people is absolutely amazing.”

“Crow is so good at weaving a story one feels as if you’re right in the midst of the action! I would recommend this to any history lover! If you are not a history lover…it will make you one!”

“Crow’s description of life in Ireland will enthrall readers. The surprise ending shows the complexity of problems facing Ireland.”

“Brings a new perspective to Ireland’s struggle for peace.”

“Gripping historical novel.”

“Extremely good!”

“Great read on Irish History.”

“Be ready for a heart-rending read.”

Speaking about the Irish portion of her Celtic Cross series, Crow said, "I have found trying to tell the long, troubled history of Ireland an enormous, agonizing, but extremely rewarding task. Like my heroine Mary, I have struggled to understand the roots of the strife that has divided this island for centuries.

"The irony of a place filled with such beauty and populated with what are surely the friendliest, most fun-loving people on earth, never ceases to grip me. In many ways this is my story as I grew up puzzled by the news of discord and violence in the land of saints and scholars.

"I also believe this is a very important story for our world. In these days of so much animosity and conflict, we need to learn the lessons of history by seeing the importance of forgiveness, working together, and moving beyond the mistakes of the past."

Crow recently discussed her passion for the stories that drove her to write the Celtic Cross Series in an interview on The Authors Show. The interview, titled as The Vanquishers of Tyranny: Of Patriots and Priests is available in the archive section at The Authors Show site at https://www.theauthorsshow.com.

Crow writes meticulously researched, entertaining novels of romance, history, adventure and mystery in an engaging you-are-there style that allows readers to live the history. Reviewers have compared her work with PD James, Dan Brown and Barbara Pym.

Award-winning Donna Fletcher Crow recently interviewed Kishanda Fulford after her co-blogger Fay Simpson reported on her experience visiting Great Fulford. Crow noticed that Kishanda is a very popular topic on her blog and then wrote a blog wondering whether or not Kishanda might be a Janeite.

Crow and Fulford discussed reading habits, Jane Austen and then delved into the topic of the Fulford mansion. The full interview is available at Crow's site at http://www.donnafletchercrow.com in The Authorized Version blog section.

Crow was delighted with the interview, stating, "Getting to know Kishanda has been a delightful and surprising journey--from this mystery name that kept topping my website searches, through reading about her and her family's notorious reputation online, to enjoying a thoroughly charming conversation with her via cyberspace. It's truly been a lesson in not judging a person by media hype.

“It turns out Kishanda is a writer herself. Her biography on her husband's American ancestress Louisa Carolina Colleton is to be published in early 2022. I can’t wait--this Regency heroine sounds like a lady worthy to be a Jane Austen character."

Best Selling Author Donna Fletcher Crow Announces New Article Series, Writers In France, Then And Now

Crow writes meticulously researched, entertaining novels of romance, history, adventure and mystery in an engaging you-are-there style that allows readers to live the history. Reviewers have compared her work with PD James, Dan Brown and Barbara Pym. The new series is available at her website in “The Authorized Version” section.

This summer a brief let-up in the Covid restrictions allowed novelist Donna Fletcher Crow and her daughter-in-law food writer Kelly Crow to spend two weeks in France and Switzerland. Their pretext for this bold venture was the need to chaperone Donna’s granddaughter Jane from her summer ballet program at the Princess Grace Academy in Monaco back to her school in Basel, Switzerland.

In truth, they spent the time deep in research on their favorite topics: literature and food. They visited the sites known to many of Donna’s favorite authors such as Somerset Maugham, Agatha Christie and Alexander Dumas. Kelly explored Auguste Escoffier’s connections to the Riviera, and sought out the best in markets, street food, and Michelin-starred restaurants.

Crow’s copiously illustrated articles in this series will transport visitors to these sites and allow readers to share the two women’s extraordinary experience:

Have tea at the Welcome Hotel in Ville-Franche-sur-Mer with Somerset Maugham and Jean Cocteau and enjoy Maugham’s delightful short story “The Three Fat Women of Antibes.”

Sail to Saint-Tropez and visit the Isle of Sainte-Margurite where the Man in the Iron Mask, later used in a novel by Alexandre Dumas, was imprisoned for 34 years.

Visit Auguste Escoffier’s home in Monaco, next door to the Princess Grace Academy of Classic Dance and learn how he single-handedly transformed French cuisine through his cooking and his writing.

Enjoy the sumptuous and historic Hotel Negresco in Nice with Agatha Christie’s Hercule Poirot as he strives to solve ‘The Mystery of the Blue Train’.

Then on to Paris to encounter the luxurious Blue Train with Mr. Bean, Agatha Christie, Raymond Chandler, and Georges Simeon.

Crow said, “In these challenging times when travel is so difficult, if not impossible for many, I was extremely fortunate to have this brief respite and I am delighted to offer a bit of an escape to my readers. I hope an armchair adventure might inspire people so look forward to brighter times ahead and maybe even start planning their own travels.”

The articles are available in “The Authorized Version” section at her website at https://donnafletchercrow.com.

In addition, Crow recently announced the release of Part I of the Celtic Cross series, The Struggle for a Nation. The Celtic Cross series is a sweeping saga of the story of Scotland. The four books in the series are adapted from her best-selling epic historical fiction novel, 'The Fields of Bannockburn' which was named Best Historical Novel 1996 by the American Federation of Press Women. The four books (or Epochs) in the series are:

Epoch 1 'The Keeper of the Stone, Of Saints and Chieftains'

Epoch 2 'The Forger of a Nation, Of Kings and Kingdoms'

Epoch 3 'The Refiner of the Realm, Of Queens and Clerics'

Epoch 4 'The Vanquishers of Tyranny, Of Priests and Patriots'

Crow said, “I am so excited to be able to share the accomplishments of these amazing historical characters with a new generation of readers. The epic novels from which I have adapted each of the individual epochs of The Celtic Cross series have been out of print for almost a quarter of a century and never available in ebook. Now these all-new editions will be readily available worldwide.”

Award Winning Author Donna Fletcher Crow Announces Release Of Part I Of The Celtic Cross Series, The Struggle for a Nation, A Sweeping Saga Of The Story Of Scotland

The four books in the series are adapted from Donna Fletcher Crow's best-selling epic 'The Fields of Bannockburn' which was named Best Historical Novel 1996 by the American Federation of Press Women

Award winning author Donna Fletcher Crow has announced the release of Part I of the Celtic Cross series,The Struggle for a Nation. The Celtic Cross series is a sweeping saga of the story of Scotland The four books in the series are adapted from her best-selling epic historical fiction novel, 'The Fields of Bannockburn' which was named Best Historical Novel 1996 by the American Federation of Press Women. The four books (or Epochs) in the series are:

Epoch 1 The Keeper of the Stone, Of Saints and Chieftains

1993: Three modern young people listen as the Scottish storyteller spins his tales of adventure, romance, and intrigue. While candles flicker and a Celtic harp sings its accompaniment, the question grips them: Can they find the answer to Scotland’s oldest secret?

563: Young Corban, tending his father’s sheep—stupid creatures that they are—on the back of the island, has no idea how much his life is about to change when he sees the holy men arrive on the beach below him. Columba has led his little band of monks from Ireland, seeking expiation from his great sin. Can he find peace on the beautiful Iona—or must more souls die yet?

Epoch 2 The Forger of a Nation, Of Kings and Kingdoms

Mary, Gareth and Brad continue their travels to an ancient ritual valley in the Scottish Highlands, seeking the answer to Scotland’s oldest secret.

847: Kenneth mac Alpin set his foot in the deep hollow of the of the ancient enkinging rock at Dunadd. A tumultuous blast of horns and the triumphant beat of drums rent the monks’ sonorous chanting. But Kenneth knew his work had barely begun. Fierce Viking warriors threatened from the west. The Picts, ancient foes of the Scots, threatened from the east. Contentious chieftains would rend the ties of his own people. And yet, somehow, Kenneth must forge a nation.

Epoch 3 The Refiner of the Realm, Of Queens and Clerics

Mary, Gareth, and Brad’s quest to learn the truth of the Stone of Scone takes them to Edinburgh Castle, high on its windy hill.

1068: Margaret struggles as the remnant of the English royal family, fleeing William the Conqueror, is blown onto the wild, rocky shore of Scotland. Can the beautiful, gentle Margaret, vowed to become a nun, accept the hand of the uncivilized King Malcolm? Can she actually carve a haven of civility among these rough, barbarous people?

Epoch 4 The Vanquishers of Tyranny, Of Priests and Patriots

Mary, Brand and Gareth’s quest comes to a surprising conclusion as they learn the truth about the price of freedom.

1314: Larger than life, perhaps the greatest patriot that ever breathed, William Wallace gives his life’s blood for Scotland’s freedom. A glorious victory at Stirling Bridge leads to heart-rending defeat at Falkirk and payment of the ultimate sacrifice at the Tower of London. And young, faithful Jamie Maclnnes experiences it all—even to paying a great personal price himself.

Though scarred—like Scotland—Jamie is unconquered. He rallies behind the dynamic Robert the Bruce and follows on the arduous odyssey of defeat, exile and humiliation until it leads finally to glorious victory on the fields of Bannockburn.

700 years later, three adventurous young people follow this spellbinding tale, seeking answers for their own lives and the solution to Scotland’s oldest riddle.

In announcing the release of her Celtic Cross series, Crow said, “I am delighted to be able to offer readers my Scottish epic for the very first time in ebook format. And I am thrilled with this all-new edition that offers each segment of Scotland’s magnificent history in convenient, stand-alone epochs.

“I am hoping that a whole new generation of readers can find inspiration to stand for truth and freedom as these long-ago saints and patriots did. Each era faces new challenges—as, indeed, our does—but the demands of courage, intelligence and faith remain the same for meeting and overcoming each hurdle that confronts our world. And Scotland remains the same fiercely beautiful country it has been throughout history.”

Readers and reviewers alike have praised Crow's work:

Was Jane Austen Vaccinated? Award-Winning Author And Traveling Researcher Donna Fletcher Crow Offers An Enlightening Look At Medical Science In Jane Austen's Day

Crow writes meticulously researched, entertaining novels of romance, history, adventure and mystery in an engaging you-are-there style that allows readers to live the history. Reviewers have compared her work with PD James, Dan Brown and Barbara Pym.

Vaccination today is a rather simple procedure - roll up the sleeve, a short jab and it's over. Not so in the 1700s. In those days the system of immunizing people against smallpox was variolation, rather than vaccination. This involved a process of taking material from an infected person in an attempt to induce a mild, but protective, infection. The procedure was to rub material from powdered smallpox scabs or fluid from pustules into superficial scratches made in the skin of the person being inoculated.

How many of us today would have the intestinal fortitude to submit to such a procedure - with no guarantee of success?

This is just one of many little-known, (and very surprising) facts about medical procedures in the 18th century, presented by award-winning author Donna Fletcher Crow in an article posted on her website titled "Was Jane Austen Vaccinated?"

Crow said, “With the absolute storm of controversy of pros an cons over the Covid vaccine, I wondered what the reaction to similar situations had been in the past. I was amazed to learn that the history of vaccination goes back to the 11th century and that in the 18th century it even had an effect on the American Revolutionary War.”

The full text of the article can be found at Crow's website at https://www.donnafletchercrow.com/articles.php.

Amazon Best Seller, Gideon The Sound And The Glory By Award Winning Author Joseph Ganci, Takes New Book Award In Readers Favorite Christian Historical Fiction Category

In this Old Testament historical fiction novel, Ganci combines Old Testament revelations with modern day revelations, action and adventure to provide audiences with a unique, emotionally charged experience.

Joseph Ganci is a serious researcher, a master storyteller and is the award winning author of the Amazon best selling novel, 'Gideon, The Sound And The Glory'. The book has received rave reviews from both professional reviewers and the public. He recently took an Honorable Mention Award in the Christian Historical Fiction category in Readers Favorite 2020 International Book Awards.

While Christian historical fiction might not be for everybody, what is for everybody is the manner in which Ganci brings characters from the Old Testament to life. The characters are colorful, vivid and vibrant, while the tales he weaves bring to mind scenes from 'Lord of the Rings' or 'Noah's Ark'. If that were not enough, the book also covers topics that are eerily similar to modern day events, such as the Covid-19 pandemic.

"The Old Testament is replete with plagues," Ganci stated. "Most often attributed to the wrath of God for disobedience to His commandments. There is nothing new under the sun. You might ask, is the COVID pandemic some such device? Is the world not burning? Are hatred, violence, and mistrust the order of the day. Has love been dismissed as not being politically viable? When a mask becomes a task and friction and discord rule the day, are we not already plagued?"

"Soon after its capture, the Ark of the covenant, or the God box, as the Philistines referred to it, created a pressing need to be released back to Israel.

"A plague of mice had burst open in the multitude of locusts and flooded the borders of Philistia. The grain stores and threshing floors were either consumed or spoiled in a sea of mouse droppings. There was no grain for bread or porridge; the needed bulk for proper digestion was now lacking. Philistia stood obstructed with a widespread cramp from constipation. Try as they might with all possible stress and strain, nothing happened but a rising tide of painfully swollen and ruthlessly itchy emrods.

"With no relief in sight, the Philistine princes counseled—standing up—and to a man agreed to send the God box back to the Hebrews—and immediately. It was hurriedly sent back to Israel with a gift of five golden emrods (hemorrhoids) and five golden mice. A peace offering to appease the wrath of the mighty Hebrew God—in the images of the two plagues that had ravaged all the Philistine people—men, women, and children. They hoped that these treasures would satisfy the God of the Hebrews for their forceful capture of His Ark.

"The Ark of the Testimony was first carted back by kine or cows who had never known a yoke or plow. The lowing kine, flushed heavy with milk, was set at the crossroads of decision. Turning to the left, it would lead them straight into the heart of Philistia; turning to the right and back to Israel would leave no doubt as to the Hebrew God’s omnipotence. The cows stood dumb and unmoved until a sudden clap of thunder in a troubled sky put them into motion, and they flinched as if struck with a whip.

"The unpiloted cart, guided by the hand of God, rested at the unfortunate town of Beth-shemesh. The curiosity of the populace reached beyond rational argument, saying, ‘Let us see the face of God, now that He is here among us.' They broke the seal of the lid for a quick peek inside. The townsmen kindled the wrath of God and suffered many to die. The wandering Ark then found safe keeping of twenty-years in Kirath-ye’arim.

"The Ark was not coming back to Shiloh or the Tabernacle of Habitation. The Tent of God was finally dismantled and stored away, fittings and all, in a vacant hold built especially for its safekeeping.

"God did not give the Philistines hemorrhoids; He gave them a plague of mice. The mice did the heavy lifting. Why, mice, you may ask? Because God uses the foolish things of this world to confound the wise and the weak things of this world to confound the mighty. And so, what is weaker than a mouse?

"Where ignorance is bliss, wisdom is folly."

Gideon coverGanci takes a ground-breaking and revelatory path in his quest to bring the awe-inspiring story of Gideon to life and ultimately to film. He believes that connecting facts are far more enchanting than loosely fitting fantasies. He works within a framework of an engaging and dramatized fiction that, while exceedingly rich in detail, remains faithful to uphold spiritual principles. He bases his work on three primary pillars:

* The rock-solid cornerstone is historical biblical geography.

* The creative arch is revelatory in its timing and issues.

* The research is concrete, firmly rooted in customs, languages, and traditions.

Ganci fills in the blanks with rock-solid research and prophetic revelations. It is a style that has allowed him to create breakthrough approaches that are exciting and breathtaking while remaining within the limits of believable biblical teachings.

Mysteries long hidden in ancient shadows now leap to life, blazing unto the pages of revelation. Details that link passages, peoples, and places are the most exciting part of the storytelling process. Details give possibilities a firm foundation as bones give form and strength to living flesh. Details long since lost or misunderstood, now ring true, giving texture, and breath, to long-forgotten gems of perception resurrected from ruins, dust, and ashes.

Ganci believes that Old Testament revelations are the Word of God. At the same time, that many needful details remained buried until the information age of discovery made them obvious and visible to the naked eye. These insights create a middle ground of understanding. As a dedicated and highly motivated researcher, he proposes there are many undiscovered nuggets of spiritual gold in the original manuscripts. He shines a new light on ancient texts and removes the black or white argument of the all-or-nothing question of modern-day revelations. He is adept at untangling the philosophical and theological human-made knots. And he gives us an opportunity to take a fresh look at what some consider to be foregone conclusions.

Readers of 'Gideon The Sound and the Glory' will learn about the Jewish Tabernacle, the Ark of the Covenant, the mysterious Golden Ephod, how, and why, David found himself at his battle with Goliath, and much, much more. This work illuminates the dark corners of scripture while engaging readers in a gripping narrative.

Ganci is in the midst of completing his sequel novel 'David'. and his many adventures and conquests. David’s making of his vast Israeli empire. The shepherd boy king and the capture of his six wives. His torrid love affair with the insatiable Bathsheba, all but provoking a cover-up in a conspiracy to murder. The anointed king who risked it all for the love of a woman. It is done with a deft touch of Biblical erotica in keeping with Bathsheba’s sensual bath and the hot sleepless desert nights with a monarch that challenged her fiery passions.

Joseph Ganci was chosen as one of '50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading' in the 2017 Book Awards. 'Gideon: The Sound and the Glory' has received rave reviews from readers and reviewers alike. A recent reviewer stated, "Joseph Ganci’s prose is arresting, peppered with fantastic imagery and succinct descriptions of plot, characters, and setting. The themes are masterfully created, and they are woven into the story in a way that allows the reader to enjoy both the inspiration the story offers and the accompanying action. The book explores powerful spiritual and political themes, capturing the conflicts and the dynamics of life within the community of God's chosen people. Gideon: The Sound and the Glory will appeal to fans of political thrillers, adventure, and conflict-driven stories laced with intense action." Other reviewers have used phrases such as "riveting," "amazing" "deftly crafted" and "highly recommended."

Ganci has also announced he will make his book available as a fundraising tool for like-minded associations and charities. Donors can receive an eBook version of 'Gideon' in exchange for a donation to a worthy cause. For more details, contact Joseph via email.
