"The release of Return to Autumn Part 2, the final installment in what has become the Autumn Trilogy, is a bittersweet moment for me, as I have travelled this incredible journey with these wonderful characters since the story's conception in 2017, when I first envisioned the fascinating Landon Lawns Stables in the fictional, posh setting of The Meadows in Kentucky," Blackwood stated. "It never ceases to amaze me how certain characters can direct their destiny and pull their author right along with them, as they did with me throughout this series. I am so proud of this story that begins in The Perils of Autumn, continues in Return to Autumn Part 1, and concludes in Return to Autumn Part 2. It's been a long, wonderful journey, one that I will never forget. The characters will forever live in my mind, and I will visit them often. It is my hope that readers will continue to enjoy this outstanding series throughout the three heart touching novels that play it out, and I sincerely thank each of them, for taking the ride."

The new book picks up four years after the end of The Perils of Autumn, and sweeps readers back to the often-perilous life at Landon Lawns Stables.

It is now January 1978. Life at the stately Landon Manor carries on regardless of health issues, supposed accidents, and eye-opening issues. Autumn and Cyril have welcomed a son, Drew Landon, the future master of his father’s prized Landon Lawns Stables, but jockey Duff Taylor has also carried on, adding to his ever-growing deceptive secrets that stable foreman, William Brown, and head groom and trainer Manfred Montgomery, have unravelled, that of which culminates in a life altering revenge that threatens to publicly disgrace Autumn, and ruin Landon Lawns Stables. Will Duff finally receive his long overdo comeuppance, or will he continue on his deceptive, devastating path? The answer awaits your eyes.

Teen Suicide Is An Alarming Crisis That Affects Us All Says Laura Prince, Author Of Sibling Loss, A Sister's Journey From Despair To Celebration

Laura Prince's new book detailing the death of her brother has been called "insightful", "powerful" "vivid" "absorbing" and "spellbinding".

A recent article on the Physician's Weekly website revealed some appalling facts regarding teen suicide. The article referenced a quote in the New York Times in 2018 in which psychiatrist Richard Friedman wrote that an epidemic in anxiety or depression among youth "is simply a myth."

Jean Twenge, PhD, the author of the article wrote: "But a new analysis my colleagues and I conducted of a large representative screening survey—published in the Journal of Abnormal Psychology—reinforces what I and others have been saying: The epidemic is all too real. In fact, the increase in mental health issues among teens and young adults is nothing short of staggering. . . . Depression surged 69% among 16- to 17-year-olds. Serious psychological distress, which includes feelings of anxiety and hopelessness, jumped 71% among 18- to 25-year-olds from 2008 to 2017. Twice as many 22- to 23-year-olds attempted suicide in 2017 compared with cohorts in 2008, and 55% more had suicidal thoughts."

Further on in the article she said, " . . .the suicide rate among 18- to 19-year-olds climbed 56% from 2008 to 2017."

Suffice it to say that our young people need help now. But this goes beyond just young people, as the tragedy of teen suicide affects not only immediate family members, but everyone in the orbit of relationships surrounding the family. We sometimes tend to ignore the devastating effect suicide has on siblings, aunts and uncles, grandparents, close friends, teachers and on the community as a whole.

Montreal resident Laura Prince, author of 'Sibling Loss, A Sister's Journey From Despair To Celebration', offers some important words of wisdom that can help anyone affected by teen suicide take the first steps toward healing.

"There is no recipe, and no-one knows--nor will ever know--how you feel, and how you have lived your personal tragedy,” Prince stated. “It's a matter of finding your way through support groups, therapy and friendships. Writing is a major help, and listening to others' stories is also very healing. Whatever helps you feel compassion for all of us and gratitude for discovering a peaceful place again will help you chart your particular journey to healing.”

“Time has illustrated to me that the death of my brother was the catalyst to my devastating despair; however, the lack of support was the tragedy. A person left with no avenue of help, especially a child, is emotionally doomed in most ways. Getting help was what got me over Mathew."

Readers and reviewers alike have praised Sibling Loss. One called it "The best story illustrating the long term consequences of unresolved childhood grief that I have seen." Another said, "Sibling Loss: A Sister's Journey from Despair to Celebration is an excellent read and one I would recommend to everyone."

Allan Schnarr, of the Center for Grief Recovery in Chicago said, "Sibling Loss is not a book you read at a dispassionate distance. It is not for you if you choose to avoid facing your losses, not unless you become willing to turn around and face yourself. The reading is a deeply personal encounter with Laura, as she lays bare the unspeakable tragedy of the death of her beloved brother. As you encounter Laura, the mirror she offers will draw you in to the journey inside your own broken heart . . .There is so much to learn here about longing for love, losing love, and searching for it unwaveringly. This is the thread weaving Laura’s narrative. It is at the archetypal core of each journey through life, love lost and found.

"Laura makes it clear that fully grieving the loss of love brings one to a new home, a renewed discovery of love, a love strong enough and wise enough to walk through each new loss with durable, irrepressible grace. Thank you Laura”

Laura’s story, 'Sibling Loss, A Sister's Journey from Despair to Celebration', is a book that would be appropriate for anyone who has ever lost, or will ever lose a sibling. That would be nearly all of us.

A Death In The Family - Montreal Author Laura Prince Offers Words Of Wisdom For Canadians Affected By Iranian Aircraft Tragedy

Laura Prince's new book detailing the death of her brother has been called "insightful", "powerful" "vivid" "absorbing" and "spellbinding".

57 Canadians were killed when Ukrainian Airlines Flight 752 was shot down from Iran. According to a piece in the Montreal Gazette by Jason Magder, those killed included newlyweds, students and young professionals. Perhaps just as important is the fact the victims were also sisters, brothers, aunts, uncles, parents and friends from every walk of life.

Stories on the tragedy were presented by nearly every major Canadian news organization including the Toronto Star, the Ottawa Citizen and the Vancouver Courier. A piece on CTVNews.ca quoted Justin Trudeau as saying, "On behalf of all Canadians, I would like to express my deepest condolences to those who are mourning the loss of a loved one. Your loss is indescribable and this is a heartbreaking tragedy. An entire country is with you. We share your grief."

Justin Trudeau knows all too well about loss after losing his brother in an avalanche in 1998 and his very famous father in the year 2000.

Coming together in the face of such an unspeakable tragedy is important. However, a vitally important question remains for the survivors: How does one handle such grief?

Montreal resident Laura Prince, author of Sibling Loss, A Sister's Journey From Despair To Celebration, offers some important words of wisdom that can help people begin to pick up the pieces and take the first steps toward healing.

"There is no recipe, and no-one knows--nor will ever know--how you feel, and how you have lived your personal tragedy," Prince stated. "It's a matter of finding your way through support groups, therapy and friendships. Writing is a major help, and listening to others' stories is also very healing. Whatever helps you feel compassion for all of us and gratitude for discovering a peaceful place again will help you chart your particular journey to healing."

"Time has illustrated to me that the death of my brother was the catalyst to my devastating despair; however, the lack of support was the tragedy. A person left with no avenue of help, especially a child, is emotionally doomed in most ways. Getting help was what got me over Mathew, but only after years of senseless suffering."

“In a document entitled 'The Mourners Bill of Rights', Dr. Alan Wolfelt explains that grief is as individual as a fingerprint. 'Do what is right for your soul. You have the right to move toward your grief and heal. Neither you nor those around you must forget that the death of someone loved, changes your life forever.' Treasure your memories and find others to share them with. That loved one will always live inside you. Be gentle with yourself and give yourself time. Write down how you feel, talk about how you feel to those you trust to express yourself, and time will help the process of healing."

Romantic Fiction Author Rusty Blackwood Announces New Release Of 'Rusty Blackwood A 3 Part Retrospect'

The new audio/video interview covers her writing career from her beginnings as a writer to the present day

Canadian Indie author Rusty Blackwood has announced the release of a new audio/video interview series, 'Rusty Blackwood A 3 Part Retrospect'.

The audio/video presentation discusses all of her works including 'Impressions' (poetry), 'Young Minds' (children's book), the Derwood Tugbottom series (comedy), both releases of 'Passions In Paris' (romantic fiction drama), 'Willow's Walk' (5 star romantic fiction drama) and more.

"I enjoyed sitting down and doing this retrospective series centering on my work," said Rusty Blackwood. "In many ways it is like traveling down memory lane, recalling the good and not so good roads that I have walked to date as an Indie author. By recalling where I've been, it assists in directing where I should go, and where I would like to go with my writing. It's like touching base with an old friend, catching up, and savoring what has been lost and what has been achieved. I look forward to new projects and where they may lead me. I hope readers listening to this series will be enlightened by what they hear, after all it is always entertaining to discover things they may not have been aware of, but I am an open book, and a writer who never gives up when I set my mind to a challenge. I also hope that followers of my work, as well as those contemplating my work, will be intrigued with what I have on the horizon, and will look forward to receiving it when it becomes available."

Blackwood's most recent romantic fiction novel, 'Willow's Walk', followed the release of 'Passions in Paris: Revelations of a Lost Diary'. Her first romantic fiction novel is a sweeping saga written in the tradition of Bram Stoker's 'Dracula' and 'What Dreams May Come'. It has been compared to Erich Segal's 'Love Story' and Nicholas Sparks' 'The Notebook'.

Willow's Walk' is a gripping new tale, certain to hold readers captive from the very first page. Set in the beautiful city of Ottawa, Canada in 2003, this touching story centers on the life and times of a woman determined to prevail at all costs, regardless of what is set before her, the result of which is certain to leave the reader reeling in its wake.

'Willow's Walk' has received a number of 5 star reviews from professional reviewers. Maria Beltran stated, "I highly recommend this book." Gisela Dixon said, “I thoroughly enjoyed reading about the life of a person presented in such a wonderful manner." Another said, "Brutally honest. I was touched by the bittersweet conclusion that sometimes purpose and happiness are only found through great tragedy ..."

'Passions in Paris' has also received rave reviews. Linkk Kula Kane said, "Passions in Paris I think stands its ground with these other powerful romantic stories like 'The Notebook' by Nicolas Sparks." Reader Fred Pifer stated that “'Passions', is a fascinating book of a love story that seemed to be written with me in mind. In the book 'Love Story' by Erich Segal, he told of a deep abiding love story that reminds me of Cullen and Joy’s in Ms. Blackwood’s book, but the twists of intrigue and mystery that she adds keeps the reader on edge throughout."

'Rusty Blackwood A 3 Part Retrospect' is available at her website and on Youtube.

Information on all of Blackwood's work is available at Blackwood's site. Readers can download paperback and Kindle versions of her books at Amazon sites worldwide, including Amazon.ca.

Romantic Fiction Author Rusty Blackwood Announces Release Of New Humor Book, 'Derwood Returns'

The new humor book is a rollicking followup to her 2012 comedy short, 'The Misadventures of Derwood Tugbottom'

Canadian Indie author Rusty Blackwood has announced the release of a new humor book, 'Derwood Returns'. Blackwood is a prolific writer of romantic fiction, short story comedies, contemporary and traditional poetry and children's books. Her first love is romantic fiction, but she crosses genres with ease, as demonstrated in this new release.

The audacious and eccentric, retired London City Hall senior official, Derwood J. Tugbottom, who was first introduced to readers in 2012’s unforgettable adult comedy short, 'The Misadventures of Derwood Tugbottom', is back in this hilarious follow-up. The bubbling and pretentious Englishman, known for his staunch outlook and demanding ways, decides to return to the picturesque village of Vinehaven on the Lake, where he takes up residence in the swinging Sunset Villa Retirement Center, located directly across the road from the infamous Anchors Away, from which he hastily departed two years earlier. Now he is back, with a hard learned lesson beneath his belt, in the hopes of finding the life that escaped him on his initial try.

"Though romantic fiction drama is my first love when it comes to writing, as well as the genre I am best known for, I very much enjoy writing a good comedy," Blackwood stated. "It allows an outlet for variety, not only for those reading my work, but for me creating it. The colorful character of Derwood Justice Tugbottom is rather special to me, for he sprung from my brother's vivid imagination in 2011, and through this introduction, came 'The Misadventures of Derwood Tugbottom' a year later. I found him a most interesting character, not only to write about and immerse into comical scenarios, but to build on which I did for the follow-up, Derwood Returns. I was delighted the Derwood character was received so well by readers, and through their enjoyment, garnered requests for further antics and laughter from him. There are certain characters that create a special bond with the writer, and this interesting fellow has certainly bonded with me. I hope he will bond with you, too."

Her most recent romantic fiction novel, 'Willow's Walk', followed the release of 'Passions in Paris: Revelations of a Lost Diary'. Her first romantic fiction novel is a sweeping saga written in the tradition of Bram Stoker's 'Dracula' and 'What Dreams May Come'. It has been compared to Erich Segal's 'Love Story' and Nicholas Sparks' 'The Notebook'.

Canadian Romantic Fiction Author Rusty Blackwood Announces Events, Special Pricing On 'Willow's Walk' In March, 2017

Blackwood's latest 5 star romance novel, 'Willow’s Walk', follows 'Passions In Paris', a romantic fiction novel written in the tradition of Bram Stoker's 'Dracula' and 'What Dreams May Come'

Canadian Indie romantic fiction novelist Rusty Blackwood has announced a number of interviews and special pricing in March 2017 for her 5 star rated romantic fiction novel 'Willow's Walk'. The new romantic fiction novel is unique in that it addresses the dangers of social media within the context of a romantic fiction story line. Social media sites can sometimes be wonderful places to form new relationships. They are also fraught with danger for the unsuspecting. Blackwood uses this concept as one focal point of the story.  A mature woman / younger man relationship that begins in an Internet chat room leads to real trouble for Willow Sutherland-Crosby, the protagonist of the story.

On March 14th 'Willow's Walk' will be a featured book for the day on Indie Author News.

On March 21st an interview with Rusty Blackwood will appear on the same site. There will be a free giveaway of the Kindle version of 'Willow's Walk' at Amazon.com from 6 am to 11 pm.

Then on March 28th 'Willow's Walk' will be the Book of the Day on Indie Author News.

"I am very pleased to have three upcoming day features during the month of March on Indie Author News," Rusty Blackwood stated. "I have appeared on this popular and informative Indie book site back in 2013 with my romantic fiction drama, 'Passions in Paris: Revelations of a Lost Diary', and I am most pleased to have my newest novel, 'Willow's Walk', hold center stage, along with an interview with yours truly speaking about the novel, as well as my role as an Indie author.  To have one's work featured on such an impressive site is a credit to one's name, and to one's work, and I am once again looking forward to it."

'Willow's Walk', follows the release of 'Passions in Paris: Revelations of a Lost Diary'.

The path each person walks is entirely their own. The pitfalls along that path, as well as the way in which they are dealt with are entirely up to the individual. But Willow Sutherland-Crosby walks a far-different path, and with her own agenda.

Abuse, deception, intrigue, and a never ending quest for happiness and love - will she find these, or will her blind determination be her downfall?

'Willow's Walk' has received a number of 5 star reviews from professional reviewers. Maria Beltran stated, "I highly recommend this book." Gisela Dixon said, “I thoroughly enjoyed reading about the life of a person presented in such a wonderful manner." Another said, "Brutally honest. Canadian Indie novelist Rusty Blackwood, author of the romantic fiction saga 'Passions In Paris', has announced the re-release of her newest romantic fiction novel, 'Willow's Walk'.

Her first romantic fiction book, 'Passions in Paris: Revelations Of A Lost Diary' is a sweeping saga written in the tradition of Bram Stoker's 'Dracula' and 'What Dreams May Come'. It has been compared to Erich Segal's 'Love Story' and Nicholas Sparks' 'The Notebook'.

'Willow's Walk' takes Blackwood's storytelling skills to a new level - the storyline hits home with readers as they are partially based in reality and real world situations that readers find highly relatable. The end effect of this approach is that readers can often put themselves squarely in the stories she presents. 'Willow's Walk' presents a story of an Internet meeting that goes tragically wrong.

Set in the city of Ottawa, Canada in 2003, the story centers on the life and times of a woman determined to prevail at all costs, regardless of what is set before her, the result of which is certain to leave the reader reeling in its wake.

The path each person walks is entirely their own. The pitfalls along that path, as well as the way in which they are dealt with are entirely up to the individual. But Willow Sutherland Crosby walks a far-different path, and with her own agenda.

Abuse, deception, intrigue, and a never ending quest for happiness and love - will she find these, or will her blind determination be her downfall?

"I cannot express how pleased and proud I am to re-release this riveting and meaningful story to my readers," Rusty Blackwood stated. "The ideas behind a story, whether they are based on fiction or fact, can often result in the success it finds when brought to print and released before the public's eyes. But the basis for Willow's Walk is one that I not only had an inside track on, but one that I felt needed being told." Miss Blackwood further stated, "The Internet can be a wonderful place where anything can be discovered, questions answered, and solid friendships formed and enjoyed. But it can also be a place of darkness, extreme upheaval, and endless heartache. It is my hope that Willow's unfortunate plight will help light the way for others standing on the sadly realistic brink of possible destruction. A writer can only hope that the words they form into stories, are words that both entertain and educate. I hope this can be realized in my newly modified Willow's Walk."

While in pre-release, 'Willow's Walk' received a number of 5 star reviews from professional reviewers. Maria Beltran stated, "I highly recommend this book." Gisela Dixon said, ". . . I thoroughly enjoyed reading about the life of a person presented in such a wonderful manner."

'Passions In Paris' has also received rave reviews. Linkk Kula Kane said, "Passions in Paris I think stands its ground with these other powerful romantic stories like 'The Notebook' by Nicolas Sparks. A long kindled love, which finds its place from a romantic spark in the mind of one, to a mounting real life experience between two different worlds, brought together by an on going weave of circumstances, doubts, mystery, and intrigue, that sets ablaze forbidden emotions on a roller coaster ride of endless desire, and surmounting obstacles, that test the strength of their determination to prevail. Miss Blackwood has a rare talent to bring this and more into the minds and hearts of those who have had the privilege to be transported into her wonderful world of story telling."

Reader Fred Pifer stated that 'Passions', " . . .is a fascinating book of a love story that seemed to be written with me in mind. In the book 'Love Story' by Erich Segal, he told of a deep abiding love story that reminds me of Cullen and Joy’s in Ms. Blackwood’s book, but the twists of intrigue and mystery that she adds keeps the reader on edge throughout."

Other reviewers have praised 'Passions In Paris'. Reviewer Cat Howard said, "Eternal love, finding your true soul mate, and how echoes from past lives can influence the present, this story has it all . . . " Another Reader's Favorite reviewer stated, "Enjoyable and exciting, this is a book for people who have romance flowing in their veins." 'Passions In Paris' has a 4 star rating on Amazon.

Information on the new romantic fiction release, including a new book trailer, is available at Blackwood's site on the 'Willow' page. Readers can download paperback and Kindle versions of both books at Amazon sites worldwide.

Romantic Fiction Author Rusty Blackwood Brings Romantic Fiction To A New Level Through Combining Classic Themes With Contemporary Events

Blackwood's 'Passions In Paris' and her latest 5 star romance novel, 'Willow's Walk' offer readers engaging romantic stories based in reality

Canadian indie author Rusty Blackwood produces engaging works of romantic fiction with a difference - her storylines hit home with readers as they are partially based in reality and real world situations that readers find highly relatable. The end effect of this approach is that readers can often put themselves squarely in the stories she presents. While that is the goal of many fiction writers, few can do it effectively.

Rusty states that the presentation of her themes come from personal experience, embellished with dramatic fictional events. She believes that most writers' inspiration comes from life experiences. She uses this to her advantage. In that respect, much of the nuance and flavors of the personalities of her heroines derive from her own personality and life.

Blackwood grew up on her paternal grandfather’s farm in south-western Ontario, Canada, where she developed her love of writing while still in grade school, entering numerous competitions and writing exhibitions throughout her area, and attributes her love of writing to her late father James, and the late Gladys Carroll, her elementary teacher.

Rusty firmly believes in going after what she wants, doing whatever is required to make it happen, and turning a deaf ear to anyone who says it cannot be done. She has faced many challenges throughout her life, emerging more determined with each. She is a firm believer in Karma and the adage that whatever you put out in life revisits you.

"From the time of early childhood I have always had an active imagination," Rusty stated. "My dad had a great love of poetry and art, finding color, dimension, and texture in all areas of the three which he passed along to me. I remember him telling me to find the soul in whatever I looked at, and along with Mrs. Carroll's stellar encouragement to express my words in the way I felt them, it would often lead to stories and poetry that could be viewed in many ways."

"I often used, and still use poetry as therapy to help me cope and come to terms with unsettling happenings in my life. It has always helped me, for it is through written word that I can better express myself, much more so than verbally. I enjoy writing many genres, but romance has always been my favorite. I am a hopeless romantic, and though I myself have not had the best luck in love, I continue to believe that there is that special 'someone' for each of us, regardless of how much time it takes to find them. This was very much the mindset behind the writing of 'Passions in Paris: Revelations of a Lost Diary'. I have always had a great affinity for Paris, France - anything Parisian for that matter - so I wanted to write a love story that was set there, one which told of a love that could exist throughout time; a love that could never be broken no matter what was set in its path. It took me ten years to write it, and I took parts of my life and inserted them into the story, embellishing them in ways that would make them more appealing to the reader; hopefully more entertaining as well."

"My newest novel, 'Willow's Walk', was derived very much in the same way, based in part on my own life experiences, and expressed in ways that hopefully not only entertain the reader, but might help them to realize what can derive from an innocent Internet salutation, or what is believed to be friendship. Many times it can be. It can also be safe to pursue; then again it might not, and the outcome can affect one's life in ways that is not only derogatory, but totally dire. One reads of these happenings everyday, yet people still venture forth, thinking all is well and it won't happen to them. Hopefully it won't, but it is always best to approach with caution, as you would with anything where you have no way of knowing the outcome."

"Writing brings me an outlet in which to express  thoughts, emotions, and to entertain not only my readers, but myself. It helps to read a story that brings satisfaction, or takes you down a road you would like to travel if you could. I did this in the pieces I have written, and I hope to continue to do so in the coming pieces I write. I don't think there is day I don't remember those encouraging words I was given so very long ago. I am extremely thankful to be able to express myself in an open manner, and in the many ways that I choose to."

'Willow's Walk' has received a number of 5 star reviews from professional reviewers. Maria Beltran stated, "I highly recommend this book." Gisela Dixon said, ". . . I thoroughly enjoyed reading about the life of a person presented in such a wonderful manner." Another said, "I was touched by the bittersweet conclusion that sometimes purpose and happiness are only found through great tragedy ..."

'Passions In Paris' has also received rave reviews. Linkk Kula Kane said, "Passions in Paris I think stands its ground with these other powerful romantic stories like 'The Notebook' by Nicolas Sparks." Reader Fred Pifer stated that 'Passions', " . . .is a fascinating book of a love story that seemed to be written with me in mind. 5 Star Rated Romantic Fiction Novel, 'Willow's Walk' Available Soon, Romantic Fiction Based On Social Media Relationships

Blackwood's latest 5 star romance novel follows 'Passions In Paris', a romantic fiction novel written in the tradition of Bram Stoker's 'Dracula' and 'What Dreams May Come'

After a short hiatus, the award-winning romantic fiction novel, 'Willow's Walk' by Indie author Rusty Blackwood is now available in a modified form. The novel features a protagonist named Willow who gets involved in a relationship via social media. That relationship goes awry and leads to circumstances that put her in real danger.

Social media sites can be great places to form relationships. On the other hand, they can be fraught with danger for the unsuspecting. Nearly every day the media presents us with stories about relationships that innocently began on a social media site but ended in tragedy.

In 'Willow's Walk' a mature woman / younger man relationship that begins in an Internet chat room leads to real trouble for the protagonist of the story. Romantic fiction novels based in fantasy can be interesting of course. However Blackwood chose to blend engaging romantic fiction story elements with events pulled from today's headlines. This approach brings a sense of realism to the novel and allows readers to relate to the story in ways that would not be possible in other forms of romantic fiction.

"From the time I began writing I set a standard of quality in every piece I released, whether it was a short story, poem, or a full length novel," stated Rusty Blackwood. "When I release my work, it must be presented properly. By this I mean all aspects surrounding the piece, and this very much includes copy-edit. Though authors strive for perfection it sometimes falls short of the intended goal, and this is what happened with Willow. I was not satisfied with the finished edit, which is why I pulled it back, and had it redone. It is my hope that when the new version returns, it will be welcomed back with acceptance and applause. An author, regardless of genre, should be proud of the work they produce, and I can honestly say that Willow's Walk now carries my name proudly."

'Willow's Walk', follows the release of 'Passions in Paris: Revelations Of A Lost Diary'. Her first romantic fiction book is a sweeping saga written in the tradition of Bram Stoker's 'Dracula' and 'What Dreams May Come'. It has been compared to Erich Segal's 'Love Story' and Nicholas Sparks' 'The Notebook'.
