Losing The Fear Of Death - Author And NDE Expert Brian McLaughlin Offers A Clear Path To A Life Without Fear

McLaughlin's book about his NDE details his totally unique near death experience. It is raw and it's real. There is no embellishment, no preaching and no hidden agenda

A recent article on the Today website, part of a two part series done by Natalie Morales, was titled "Do you believe? Near-death experience survivor recalls 'amazing' encounter." One of the people featured in the article stated, "The loss of fear of death is so amazing." In that single sentence, she hit upon the central thought that can instantly transform one's life.

It is empowering when we at last come to the realization that, at the very core of all our problems, troubles, anxieties and difficulties, lies some form of fear. Overcoming any problem or challenge begins by dealing with the particular form of fear inherent in that challenge. Once that is out of the way, the rest is not so difficult. But death? The fear of death is the greatest of all fears. Death is the big one, as we cannot avoid it, sidestep it or control it in any way. Death however is not the real problem. Fear of death is the real problem. If we could overcome the fear of death our lives WOULD be amazing. How would our perspective change if we knew, beyond doubt, that we would not come to an end? Can we believe that and embrace it?

Brian McLaughlin, author of 'Flight Without Wings, My Experience With Heaven', knows we can. Teaching others how to overcome fear of the dark or the fear of heights is one thing. Brian takes this to a whole new level by showing us that the fear of death itself unwarranted. Achieving that state is both awe inspiring and life changing. That is precisely what he can do for anyone willing to listen.

Recently McLaughlin stated “ Your fears may be the single most debilitating aspect of your life.

The fear of death might be the most thought about. There are many aspects of this fear... like sub-headings I suppose. Fear of death could include the fear of the unknown, fear of loss, fear of pain, fear of not going to Heaven !  After my experience, and presentation of my book “A Flight Without Wings”,  I can state with certainty and confidence that I no longer fear death. The fears listed above were satisfied.  Fear of the unknown...  I now know where I will be going, the fear of loss, pain, etc., have all been revealed to me so I can cross them off as well.

I realize that for me it’s easier because I’ve been there.  I suspect that many people balance themselves on the thin line of really believing and having doubts.  My hope is that by sharing my experience will help them lean towards really believing.  I do so without any dogma or requisites, so most people can use my experience to support their own position. This knowledge for me has changed my whole outlook on living. It can for you as well. For those of you who have some measure of faith, I think that in sharing my event with you, I will bolster your belief system.  Those of you who feel they have no faith at all, my hope would be that my words will stimulate your mind to just consider the possibilities.”

A Flight Without Wings' offers readers a look at the near death experience from an unbiased point of view. It is the presentation of the material that sets this book apart from the other books about the near death experience. It is raw and it's real. There is no embellishment and no hidden agenda. While his book has a spiritual flavor certainly, there is no preaching and no religious messages. It is his near-death experience, just as it happened.

McLaughlin's experience changed the course of his life forever.  It instilled in him what we all seek - certainty about life after death. And with that a peace of  mind that can never be shaken, nor can it be doubted. His near death experience brought a sense of clarity. It brought a sense of real, lasting peace. He now knows with certainty that we exist forever. It is that simple message he brings to his audience, both through his book and at his speaking engagements and in his media appearances.

Brian serves as co-host of the Chapters Rap Show on MadhouseTV.com, an Internet television show that is broadcast worldwide. He uses this forum to showcase people who make a difference.  Brian was chosen as one of '50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading' in both the 2015 and 2016 Book Awards.

Reviews of 'A Flight Without Wings' have been overwhelmingly positive. Dr. Penny Sartori, author of 'The Wisdom of Near-Death Experiences', said "This book will help others who have had an NDE to make sense of their experience and will also help those close to someone who has had an NDE because NDEs affect close family members and friends too."

Jack Magnus, a reviewer with Readers Favorite, called the book a "well written and moving memoir that neither delves into the fanciful or dogmatic,...”  "…Well worth reading, and is highly recommended." Another stated, "Being a mother who lost her only child I found it to be a great comfort to me." Another said, "I have read many accounts such as these, but this beautifully written account simply touched my heart in ways that previous ones have not."

Mark Feuerstein, Actor (Royal Pains, USA Network) wrote: “I have read it and I think it’s an inspiring tale of deep insight and so personal and yet so universal . . . such profound perspective.”

NDE Expert Brian McLaughlin Co-Hosts TV Episodes Dealing With Suicide Prevention, Bullying, Mental Health And PTSD

McLaughlin's book about his NDE details his totally unique near death experience. It is raw and it's real. There is no embellishment, no preaching and no hidden agenda

Brian McLaughlin, near death experience expert, speaker and author of a highly praised book about NDE, 'A Flight Without Wings, My Experience With Heaven', recently served as co-host of two segments on Madhouse TV. McLaughlin's near death experience brought him to a state of unshakable peace and total freedom from fear. His experience gives him a unique perspective on topics such as suicide prevention, bullying and PTSD.

The October 10th segment of 'Chapters Rap' on Madhouse TV addressed suicide prevention, mental health and bullying and focused on creating awareness and solutions. The segment featured Linda Rossi, founder of 'Chrissy's Wish' and a local representative of the Long Island Crisis Center.

The October 17th segment focused on Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). The segment featured Lou Falco, Director of Operation Initiative Foundation Inc., an organization that provide resources to Veterans and families of Veterans.

McLaughlin stated: “Recently I signed on to co-host an internet TV show known as the ‘Chapters Rap’, which may become ‘Double Vision’ at some point. My contribution to the show is my perspective on the common element of fear.

"The past two shows dealt with suicide prevention in youth AND veterans, as well as bullying and PTSD. The fear factor is obvious in some topics, but may be more obscure as it relates to the subjects mentioned here.

"There is an age old dilemma of dealing with self worth, self esteem, finding one’s identity which may manifest themselves in the form of becoming a bully. This creates a fear for the victim. Where that leads is anyone’s guess. It sometimes culminates in completing suicide. Understanding the dynamics of bullying may bring some clarity to the victim in finding an alternative option.

"PTSD may be more complex, but still exhibits some connection to fear in exploring the different remedies available. My best guess is that sufferers of PTSD might suffer with, among other things, a fear of isolation in facing these complexities.

"All in all, many of these adversities in life contain underlying fears of failure,  certainly the fear of an unknown solution/result, and maybe fear of embarrassment in seeking support... among other fears.

"The message I try to convey is to seek help, as you may be surprised at how many people want to help.  It can be a difficult emotion to deal with alone."

Brian McLaughlin shows us clearly in his book how we can experience a life filled with peace in the midst of discord. We can find freedom from fear when faced with uncertainty. We can overcome any form of anxiety, even while facing down threats from within and without. Depression, despair and dismay can easily be transformed into peace, confidence, contentment and joy in one single stroke. What is this most powerful concept that will allow us achieve these states?

The key is to accept that the afterlife really does exist - without question. This has nothing to do with religion and everything to do with truth. While the afterlife cannot be proven using a scientific method based in the physical, it can be proven through one's experience. McLaughlin is one of very few people who have had that experience. He speaks from that experience and his readers and audiences reap the benefits.

Proof Of The Afterlife Brings Peace, Freedom From Fear And Anxiety Says Author, Speaker And NDE Expert Brian McLaughlin

McLaughlin's book about his NDE details his totally unique near death experience. It is raw and it's real. There is no embellishment, no preaching and no hidden agenda

All human beings have core needs. Peace, certainty and freedom from fear and anxiety. These are primary and necessary, as they allow us to experience a sense of safety, well-being and lie at the very core of the ability to live a fulfilling life. It's not that we want these things - we need these things. We all seek them, every single day.

Brian McLaughlin, near death experience expert, speaker and author of a highly praised book about NDE, 'A Flight Without Wings, My Experience With Heaven', shows us how we can achieve these states. We can experience a life filled with peace in the midst of discord. We can find freedom from fear when faced with uncertainty. While the afterlife cannot be proven using a scientific method based in the physical, it can be proven through one's experience. McLaughlin is one of very few people who have had that experience. He speaks from that experience and his readers and audiences reap the benefits.

McLaughlin states: “Inner  peace for me, comes from overcoming fear in my life through my experience in Heaven. Benefits such as understanding, clarity and awareness contribute to that overall peacefulness . but recognizing real opportunities that exist all around us- all the time, sometimes makes me wish I had been able to see them sooner. I have taken advantage of many of them over the years since my accident, and enjoy the success of doing so.  Allowing this small “adjustment” in your life may very well afford you the same fearless approach to life, relationships and job related issues. Imagine not worrying about failure, or fear of disappointment , embarrassment , rejection, or any of the fears that hold us back in life.  Try replacing fear with love, even in baby steps.  You will certainly discover a new and exciting perspective that will benefit you and those around you”

Proof Of The Afterlife Will Likely Not Be Found By Science Says Brian McLaughlin, Author Of 'A Flight Without Wings, My Experience With Heaven'

McLaughlin's book about his NDE details his totally unique near death experience. It is raw and it's real. There is no embellishment, no preaching and no hidden agenda. He believes both science and spirituality are correct

A recent article on the Telegraph website entitled "First hint of 'life after death' in biggest ever scientific study" presented information that was published in the journal 'Resuscitation'. A group of University of Southampton scientists spent four years and looked at 2,000 cases in which patients suffered cardiac arrests. The information was gathered from 15 hospitals in the US, the UK and Austria. Dr David Wilde, a research psychologist at Nottingham Trent University, was quoted in the article, stating, "There is some very good evidence here that these experiences are actually happening after people have medically died."

There is a huge divide between science and spirituality. On one side stand the scientists who believe that the near death experience cannot be proven scientifically. On the other side are those of faith, who believe that the near death experience is real nevertheless. Brian McLaughlin, author of 'A Flight Without Wings, My Experience With Heaven' believes both sides are correct. A mental experience cannot be proven scientifically. Yet there is no doubt that something has happened during that mental experience. Even Albert Einstein was open to the possibility that the "spookiness" of some aspects of quantum physics could be the result of something science was not able to measure at the time.

In a recent interview McLaughlin stated:  “How can science prove or disprove what you believe? It can’t.  Scientists look for proof of an afterlife, when in fact using the typical methods with today’s theories, really IS impossible. Often times, in debates of this issue, the science end of the spectrum try to get answers from the 'believer' end of the same spectrum. People in general are hanging on to every thread and breakthrough on the consciousness after death argument. This is just the wrong way to investigate this phenomenon.  Dr. Ray Moody alluded to the same suggestion as Albert Einstein.  They both suggest to some degree that science and scientific theory has to catch up to human realities.

"The nature of a Near Death Experience (NDE) is cerebral. All physical properties of one’s body are left behind. Believing in the afterlife requires a certain measure of faith, or spirituality. The concept of God surely is one that science cannot prove or disprove.  It falls into a realm which lies beyond our 5 senses and 3 dimensions.

"During my own NDE, I experienced telepathic type communication. Information, along with understanding and clarity were filling me like a dry sponge. It was almost exhausting.  When I returned, I realized that I had no sense of time there, and from the knowledge and understanding I came back with had to be done at lightning speed as I was only there for a short time (assuming).

"As you might imagine, this would be as hard to prove as any other facet of the experience.  I am comfortable with the cryptic nature of the event because I have had 20+ years of epiphanies that have validated the event for me.  There is more than enough room here for both sides to be right… The perspective just comes from a different direction in each case.”

Scientific Proof Of The Afterlife Will Never Be Found By Researchers Says Brian McLaughlin, Author Of 'A Flight Without Wings, My Experience With Heaven'

McLaughlin's book about his NDE details his totally unique near death experience. It is raw and it's real. There is no embellishment, no preaching and no hidden agenda

While most people would love to see scientific proof of the afterlife, it is very unlikely that the existence of an afterlife will be found by scientific researchers, for a number of reasons.

Only a very small percentage of scientists believe in the afterlife and do not consider it worthy of study. When we combine that with the fact that an NDE is a mental experience and not a physical event we begin to realize that proof of the afterlife lies beyond the reach of science. Brian McLaughlin, author of an award winning book about the near death experience, 'A Flight Without Wings', believes science will never get there because science CANNOT get there.

"Some people may have noticed in the recent past, headlines that indicate scientific proof of an afterlife," McLaughlin stated. "The criteria that is used in metaphysical studies or quantum physics has not changed. There is no way to prove the existence of an afterlife or Heaven that way."

"A certain measure of spirituality is critical to the proof of the afterlife theories. Proving a realm beyond our 5 senses and 3 dimensions is impossible using traditional scientific methods.  Progressive thinking that falls outside that strict envelope is required, but difficult to accept for some.  Determining causation may be  difficult to the traditional scientist, so  one may need to examine the theories of people like Dr. Ray Moody, or Deepak Chopra, or even Amit Goswami.  It appears that their thinking is open ended, with more infinite possibilities."

"This proof we seek, for an afterlife and/or Heaven has to come from someplace outside our 'normal' methods. While science demands something tangible, an NDE is not and will never be tangible."

"Ask the questions… how would anyone describe absolute and total peace? Or pure love without agenda? Or freedom from fear?  Can we smell it- touch it- feel it- see it or taste it? These are the 5 senses used in traditional science to 'prove' things. Peace, love, or fearlessness falls outside those measurements. We will need to use unconventional means to establish 'proof'.  Most people are satisfied believing that there is or isn’t an afterlife, just based on their upbringing, or the belief systems they have defined through life. Those who require proof will have to embrace a more progressive way of thinking."

'A Flight Without Wings' offers us a look at the near death experience from an unbiased point of view. It is the presentation of the material that sets this book apart from the other books about the near death experience. It is raw and it's real. There is no embellishment and no hidden agenda. Sat.  August 27 - Rockville Center, NY - Street Fair
Sat.  Sept. 3 -  Freeport, NY- Book Signing

"If science goes looking for a man in the sky with a flowing gray beard, it will never find that certainly," McLaughlin concluded. "Yet science can prove there is a life force. How we use the word 'God' is a personal choice. Science can prove the existence of God, if we use the term 'God' in a different context. Likewise science can prove consciousness survives death of the body, but cannot prove the experience of love, peace or joy consciousness has after the death of the body."

Life After Death - Afterlife Differs For Near Death Experiencers But Present Common NDE Themes Says Brian McLaughlin, Author Of 'A Flight Without Wings'

McLaughlin's book about his NDE details his totally unique near death experience. It is raw and it's real. There is no embellishment, no preaching and no hidden agenda. McLaughlin will make appearances in the Long Island, NY area in the coming months

Is there proof of life after death? Modern day medical techniques now allow us to speak with many people who have been there and back. We are fortunate to live in a time in which that question is finally being answered definitively. While these experiences vary widely, they present us with some core messages.

Tracy Morgan - met his deceased father, who asked him to come back and finish his mission. He came back with a different perspective and now looks at relationships in a totally new way.
Jane Seymour - asked God to send her back and He did. She believes the only thing we take with us is the difference we make in the world.
Actor Robert Pastorelli - turned away from his interest in a job and security, and gambled everything on his acting career.
Larry Hagman - came to understand that the meaning of life is love - period.
George Foreman - gave up boxing and became an ordained minister.

Many books have been written on the subject - 'Proof Of Heaven' by Eben Alexander, '90 Minutes In Heaven' by Don Piper, 'Life After Life' by Dr. Raymond Moody, 'Consciousness Beyond Life' by Pim van Lommel, 'Embraced By The Light' by Betty J. Eadie - the list is populated by people from all walks of life. Nearly all paint the near death experience in a positive light. If there is one thing that is common to a very large percentage of near death experiences, it is that the individual who has the experience comes out of it with a totally changed perspective. The new perspective is that relationships and love are the core of human existence.

'A Flight Without Wings' by Brian McLaughlin offers us a similar message, but it is the presentation of the material that transforms this core message into something that hits us directly in the heart. It is raw and it's real. There is no embellishment and no hidden agenda. While his book has a spiritual flavor certainly, there is no preaching and no religious messages. It is his near-death experience, just as it happened.

McLaughlin stated:  “Surely a Near Death Experience will never be considered a scientific event. Removal of Spirituality or Religion from the equation may transform it into a benign dream.  For many however, the belief in God is a part of everyday living. Love, kindness and Goodness motivates us in nearly all facets of life. The celebrities mentioned above really had no choice but to recognize the importance of love, and somehow integrate it into their existence… no matter how complete their lives appeared.”

It is that simple message he brings to his audience, both through his book and at his speaking engagements.

Sat.  August 27 - Rockville Center, NY - Street Fair
Sat.  Sept. 3 -  Freeport, NY- Book Signing

What The Afterlife Is Like - The Proof Is In The Direct Experience States Brian McLaughlin, Author Of 'A Flight Without Wings'

McLaughlin's book about his NDE details his totally unique near death experience. It is raw and it's real. There is no embellishment, no preaching and no hidden agenda. McLaughlin will make several appearances in the Long Island, NY area in the coming months

Is there life after death? Does some component of the human mind survive death? Everybody has an opinion, but who has any proof?

A debate on Youtube offered by Intelligence Squared entitled 'Death Is Not Final' featured four speakers with four different perspectives. Eben Alexander, a popular author and NDE experiencer and Dr. Raymond Moody, author of a number of seminal books on NDE including 'Life After Life', argued for the motion. The debate also featured physicist Sean Carroll and neurologist Steven Novella, who argued against the motion.

The position taken by Carroll and Novella was that NDE's are not scientifically provable and that the effects produced by the near death experience could be the result of many other factors. That is a position held by many people and on the surface may appear to be sensible. Dr. Moody however argued that these types of experiences perhaps cannot be proven scientifically, as the NDE experience lies beyond the realm of science and the question is not a question for science. He offered the possibility that the final word on the afterlife may not be delivered via science, but could perhaps come rather through critical thinking and logic.

Should we believe the afterlife does not exist because it cannot be proven via the scientific method? Brian McLaughlin, author of 'A Flight Without Wings', believes Dr. Raymond Moody has finally given us the answer.

McLaughlin stated: “After watching the above mentioned debate, I was left with these personal conclusions:

The two skeptics Carroll and Novella spent most of their time trying to reason why an NDE shouldn’t  be possible, while still asking for proof of such an event. It was apparent that little existed outside our 5 sense- 3 dimension world for them. Eben Alexander seemed frustrated that Carroll and Novella weren’t impressed with his use of medical terms like neo-cortex, etc.

Dr. Ray Moody sat back and let them spew and when it was his turn, he calmly voiced the results of decades of research with people who have had an NDE. His mind appeared to be open to possibilities that the skeptics refuse to acknowledge.  Moody alluded to the impractical use of today’s science or quantum physics to prove or even disprove consciousness after death, indicating that perhaps the proof lies beyond typical metaphysical theories. I would like to offer Dr. Moody this theory:

For many, the proof of an afterlife is an NDE… a real  NDE, as described in his book ‘Life after Life’.  I have had occasion to witness a realm beyond what we are familiar with now. Somewhat scary, somewhat confusing, but real enough to have had a profound impact on my life over the last 20 years. For people like Ray Moody or even Deepak Chopra with progressive thinking , or Amit Goswami’s approach to consciousness and the brain causation, I could be considered one of the sources of unadulterated data on the subject."

Brian McLaughlin's book about his near death experience stands apart from the rest. It is raw and it's real. There is no embellishment and no hidden agenda. While his book has a spiritual flavor certain, there is no preaching and no religious messages.

It is that simple message he brings to his audience, both through his book and at his speaking engagements.

Meeting With Deceased Father Shows Readers What The Afterlife Is Like In 'A Flight Without Wings' By Author Brian McLaughlin

McLaughlin's book about his NDE details his totally unique near death experience. It is raw and it's real. There is no embellishment, no preaching and no hidden agenda. McLaughlin will make several appearances in the Long Island, NY area in the coming months

In an interview published on the Epoch Times website entitled "Dr. Bruce Grayson On Researching Near-Death Experiences at the University of Virginia", Dr. Grayson was quoted as saying, “As a psychiatrist, what’s much more interesting to me is not the ‘knock your socks off’ part of the experience, but the after-effects, the way it changes people’s lives. Psychiatrists and psychologists spend a lot of hard work trying to get people to make fairly small changes, and here in the flash of a second, people are totally transformed — this is a powerful experience!”

Brian McLaughlin, author of 'A Flight Without Wings' gives us an intimate look at his NDE experience and the powerful effect that meeting his deceased father had on his life after his return.

Many books about the subject of NDE's glorify the experience or sensationalize the details. The end result can border on aggrandizement or at the very least sound like hype and fabrication. On the other hand the books by scientists take just the opposite approach - filled with charts, graphs and overt attempts to explain the experience as simple byproducts of chemicals released by the dying human brain. The end result is that readers can end up with more questions than answers. When all is said and done however, what both researchers and readers seek is one thing - real answers.

Brian McLaughlin's book about his near death experience stands apart from the rest. It is raw and it's real. There is no embellishment and no hidden agenda. While his book has a spiritual flavor certain, there is no preaching and no religious messages. It is his near-death experience, just as it happened.

McLaughlin states “As indicated by the above quotes and references, books about NDE s are being scrutinized more closely than ever due at least in part to the entertaining final product being printed. Robert Gottlieb stated in a lengthy article in The New York Review of Books ‘To Heaven and Back’ dated 10/23/2014, that he noticed the influence of additional  writers. He stated ‘... and don’t underestimate that with ‘ in the listing of the authors. He goes on to say for example ‘I was struck by both it’s grandiosity and it’s obvious elements of wish fulfillment’, suggesting that some of these stories have been engineered to be entertaining rather than informative."

"Nearing the end of the article he indicates that ‘The recent spate of NDE books offers something more concrete: contemporary first person reportage’.  Best if the Author is the one who had the experience and writes about it. The lack of embellishment in an NDE account by no means suggests something less profound. As simple as an event may appear through the words of a book, I can tell you with certainty that the experience of a real NDE becomes a defining moment in your life, with many benefits like heightened senses to explore and use in your life going forward.”

It is that simple message he brings to his audience, both through his book and at his speaking engagements.
