Historical fiction Author RG Bud Phelps Chosen As One Of 50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading For New Historical Fiction Release, 'Anti Nazi Task Force'

RG Bud Phelps is an award winning author of historical fiction novels and business books that share both his business knowledge and his memories of growing up in Middle America

Author RG Bud Phelps has been chosen as one of 50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading. His award came as the result of an appearance on The Authors Show in which he discussed his newest release, his historical fiction novel 'Anti Nazi Task Force'.

'Anti Nazi Task Force' is the sequel to 'Mill Park Mystery'. 'Mill Park Mystery' begins with a murder in a small Nebraska Town, involving a mysterious black haired man with his path leading to Nuremburg, Germany and a startling conclusion.  From the point where 'Mill Park Mystery' ends, readers can follow the continuing adventures of Phelps’ characters in 'Anti Nazi Task Force'. They have been assigned by this special task force to search for private art collections which were taken from Jewish families during WWII.  The book is an exciting tale of intrigue and romance. In real life Phelps visited the places mentioned in these books and incorporated many personal memories into both mystery novels.

"I am pleased to have been chosen as one of 50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading," Phelps stated.  "I feel very blessed as I have won this award for the third year, being featured as one of the great writers you should be reading.  The books, “50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading” are available at the Author’s Show website.  The 2013 issue features my book “Gibbon’s Secrets”; the 2014 issue features my book “Back in the Day”; and now the 2015 issue features my book “Anti-Nazi Task Force”."

Phelps has penned a number of novels across several genres.  'Gibbons Secrets' is a down-to-earth historical fiction tale about a boy growing up in a small town during and after WWII. 'Back in the Day', the second in his life series, covers the years from 1945 to 1955.  It is based on his personal memories of growing up in Curtis, Nebraska and his four years in the U.S. Navy.

Phelps business books include 'Cover Your Nut', a business book that offers business owners a tool to analyze progress and make plans for the future through the analysis of financial statements. 'The Business Plan and Beyond' teaches new entrepreneurs about the foundation and needs of new businesses.

To celebrate the release of 'Anti Nazi Task Force', Phelps will gift a no-charge copy of 'Mill Park Mystery' in eBook format for anyone who emails proof of purchases of the 'Anti Nazi Task Force' eBook from Amazon.  If readers chose a paperback copy, Phelps will gift a copy of ‘Mill Park Mystery’ with the purchase of ‘Anti-Nazi Task Force’ from his web site.

Author RG Bud Phelps Chosen As One Of '50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading'

Phelps was chosen as the result of a public voting process.  His work, entitled ‘Back In The Day’, is the second book in his ‘life series’ which started with "Gibbon's Secrets," and covers the ten year period from 1945 to 1955

RG Bud Phelps, author of ‘Back In The Day’, has been chosen as one of  ‘50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading’. The contest was sponsored by The Authors Show. ‘Back In The Day’ is the second installment in Phelps’ ‘life series’. Phelps was also a winner in the 2012 ‘50 Great Authors You Should be Reading’ for his book ‘Gibbon's Secrets - A Boy's Memories of the 40's’.

“I am proud,” Phelps stated, “to be a 2013 winner in '50 Great Authors You Should be Reading'.  'Back in the Day' parallels my memories from high school through my service in the U.S. Navy, and represents the memories and experiences of thousands of Americans who grew up in the same era.”

In the book series, Phelps shares a young man's historical fiction experiences throughout high school, summers in-between, and four years in the Navy. These experiences and relationships begin with growing up in a small town in Nebraska, where a healthy atmosphere was common in the 1950's. He elected to classify the incidents and individual characters in this story as historical fiction to allow the sharing of his recollections of the content and order. The dialogues used throughout the story are the types of conversations recalled by Phelps during the time frame of the story.

Curtis is a small town in the southwestern corner of Nebraska, with a population in the 1,000 range during the period of time of this story. The Nebraska School of Agriculture (NSA) was the only Ag high school in the state of Nebraska, and the high school featured in this story. Phelps secured historical Navy records from the National Personnel Records Center which have made it possible to create a more realistic historical timeline of "Duty Stations" and dates when earned leaves were taken. Actual information about the individual duty stations have been taken from: US Naval Training Center in San Diego CA; US Naval Air Training Center in Jacksonville, FL; US Naval Air Station in Quonset Point, RI; US Naval Air Station in Atlantic City, NJ; VC-4 Squadron at Naval Air Station in Atlantic City, NJ; and the USS Valley Forge, CVS-45 - all which have been included in this historical fiction story.

The book has a 4 star rating on Amazon. One reviewer stated, “Phelps' book is written with honesty and humor that captures beautifully what it was like to live in America, especially the mid-west, during that time, just as his prequel, ‘Gibbon's Secrets’, did of the previous ten years.” Another stated, “On the other hand, for folks like me, it's a way to gain a better understanding of my country's history. The tone is upbeat and fun...not ponderous, as many true-life history stories are.”
