Award Winning Author Jody Sharpe Announces New Children’s Book, When The Angel Sent Butterflies

Sharpe's previously published books are riveting inspirational thrillers written in honor of her daughter Kate and her husband Steve.

Jody Sharpe, multi-award winning author of three books about angels, has announced the release of a new children's book, 'When The Angels Sent Butterflies'. The new book helps children understand that love from their parents and others surrounds them. Love conquers fear and believing that angels are near can help sweep any childhood fear away. This concept is presented in the book when Angel Ken sends Jones and Kate butterflies.

The new book, appropriate for ages 2 to 7, is now available at Amazon and Ingram.

In a recent post on the 'Tuesdays With The Angels' section of her website, Sharpe discussed the story behind the new book:

"When I wrote my new children’s book, 'When The Angel Sent Butterflies', it came from the heart and the miracle of seeing butterflies at the most serendipitous of moments. My late daughter, Kate at four years old, was for a brief time, afraid of bees. As I wrote the story I thought of butterflies as calming the character Kate’s fears as love is sent by Angel Ken with a wave of butterflies from his hands.

"But really the synchronicity of it all seems angels, butterflies, and bees, all represent hope, joy and love to me. One of the favorite lines I ever wrote was not in one in my books. To one of my best friends who is fighting illness I wrote:

“Though thought to be fragile, butterfly’s wings are strong in the wind. They fly miles on angel wind.”

"The strength of angels sending love through the flight of butterflies and bees gives me peace. This is part of the wondrous spiritual awakening in me."

Mike Person, Author Of 'With Malice Toward One', Marks The 150th Anniversary Of Abraham Lincoln's Assassination

Person's new educational book, 'With Malice Toward One', combines exciting storytelling, sequential graphics and little known facts to create a book about Lincoln's assassination that kids find both informative and engaging

April 14, 2015 marks the 150th anniversary of the assassination of Abraham Lincoln at Ford’s Theatre in Washington DC. Washington is gearing up for the event with ceremonies, theatrical performances, candlelight vigils, tours and a host of other events.

Award Winning Children's Book Author Donna McDine Encourages Charity Book Donations

McDine is a very successful author of children's books who strives to ignite curiosity in children through reading. She strongly encourages all children's book authors to get involved in donating children's books to local charities

Numerous studies from both government and the private sector provide clear evidence that early reading skills are an investment in a child's future. Early reading skill development dramatically affects the quality of life for children as they grow into adulthood. The Lieutenant Governor of Alberta Emerging Artists Award is open to artists from every discipline and every possible genre within it. The private ceremony was held at the Government House on June 14, 2012. His Honour Col. (Ret’d) the Honourable Donald S. Ethell bestowed the award on the recipients. The ceremony was attended by founding members Fil Fraser and the Honourable (Ret’d) Senator Tommy Banks. Tommy Banks reminded those in attendance that the aim of the Lieutenant Governor of Alberta Arts Awards is to build Alberta’s artistic community as a whole.

"Receiving the Lieutenant Governor of Alberta Emerging Artist Award  for Literary Arts," stated Ms. Robinson, "is a huge honor, and a definite boost for recognition in the literary world."

As regards the Purple Dragonfly Book Awards, Linda Radke, President of Five Star Publications recently stated, “Winning any place in the Purple Dragonfly Book Awards is a huge honor because in order to maintain the integrity of the contest, a minimum score is required before a 1st or 2nd Place or Honorable Mention will be awarded – even if it is the only entry in a category,. Award Winning Author Diane Mae Robinson Releases New Children’s Book, 'Sir Princess Petra'

Written in the tradition of C. S. Lewis and reminiscent of 'Shrek', reviewers have labeled the award winning book a 'fantasy adventure that is sure to become a timeless classic.'

Canadian author Diane Mae Robinson has released her latest children's book, 'Sir Princess Petra'. Armed with a cake knife and a suit of the best royal pots and pans, Petra chooses to hush the howling dragon, Snarls, in the Forest of Doom and win her real armour. Diane Mae Robinson has a journalism diploma from the Schools of Montreal, and an advanced diploma from the Institute of Children's Literature in Connecticut.  She is also an artist, and teaches acrylic and watercolor art to children. Canadian Author Rusty Blackwood will be appearing at Chapters in Fairview Mall in the St. Catharine's area on June 16th 2012

Acclaimed Canadian author Rusty Blackwood, author of the 'Passion In Paris' series, today announced the anticipated release of a new title 'Passion In Paris: Revelations Of A Lost Diary'. The new title is a compiliation of two previously released, successful titles - 'Passion In Paris: Connections To The Past' and 'Passion In Paris: Directions Of The Heart'.  The new compilation follows the release of her new short story comedy, 'The Misadventures Of Derwood Tugbottom'.

The new compilation takes place in anticipation of gaining literary representation for the title. She will appear at several locations in St. Catharines, Ontario during the month of May to introduce the new work.

"This is the way," stated Rusty, "I originally wanted and pictured it being done. It's like a child, one's first born, where every tiny nuisance is important, the way it's presented, and the way it's handled. Combing a major length manuscript into detailed synopsis is no small task, but one which is both needed, and required. An author views each step they take as a step toward success and accomplishment in the field of writing as well the need to satisfy the muse within. Acclaimed Canadian author Rusty Blackwood, author of the 'Passion In Paris' series, has announced the release of her new children's book, 'Through The Eyes Of Innocence'. The book is a collection of short stories based on her experiences growing up in rural Ontario, Canada.

"Our childhood warrants more than we realize with regard to who we become as adults," says Rusty wholeheartedly. "A child who was allowed to laugh, explore, and use their imagination was a child that often followed their dreams, and in doing so, became whatever they so desired, as opposed to a child who was discouraged; taught only to believe in the negative. In that unfortunate scenario, the outcome as an adult can often prove an unwelcoming existence."

"I wrote these stories," relayed Ms. Blackwood, "primarily for my own children and grandchildren to gain insight into my childhood; possibly know the child I once was. It was important to me, for I feel it helps to bring family closer by experiencing, through words the happenings of those who came before."
