Romantic Fiction Author Rusty Blackwood Announces Readers Favorite International Book Awards Entry, June 2014 Events

Blackwood is the author of "Passions In Paris" a romantic fiction novel that has been compared to "Love Story" and "The Notebook"

Canadian Indie author Rusty Blackwood has announced that "Passions In Paris: Revelations Of A Lost Diary" has been entered in Readers Favorite International Book Awards. She has also announced the upcoming schedule of events for June 2014.

"Over the course of my writing career thus far," Blackwood stated, "I have pounded the proverbial internet pavement, done interviews and submitted review queries with an assortment of internet sites that were designed with the independent author in mind. Some were extremely good, and some badly lacking in the required areas needed for success in the self-publishing world, but I have never encountered one so diligent, well constructed, and in tune with a writer's plight than Readers' Favorite, with their supportive staff, excellent services, and competent reviewers."

"Competitive contests come and go, regardless of the popularity of the site that is sponsoring them, or what they may be offering by entering. For the indie author, contests are both an interesting way in which to promote one's work, and bring attention to a title that is competing against others in its genre which in turn can bring it to the literary forefront over-all. Readers' Favorite sponsors one of the largest annual book award contests on the Net, offering some of the best, sought-after rewards hoping to be obtained by those throwing their title into the ring. This is my first year competing in this audacious contest, but the accolades that 'Passions in Paris' hopes to reap in its field are well worth the pedantic run toward the finish line."

Blackwood's romantic fiction novel is a sweeping saga written in the tradition of Bram Stoker's 'Dracula' and 'What Dreams May Come'. It has been compared to Erich Segal's 'Love Story' and Nicholas Sparks' 'The Notebook'. The novel has also received extremely positive reviews from Reader's Favorite reviewers and has a 4-star rating on Amazon. The book was chosen as a finalist in Indie Author Land’s “50 Self Published Books Worth Reading”. Rusty was also a finalist in The Authors Show “50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading” Awards.

"Passions In Paris" will celebrate a one year anniversary in June, having been released on June 19, 2013. This coincides with June being Literary Month throughout the Niagara area. Blackwood will be reading from "Passions In Paris" at the Pelham Festival Book Fair on June 21st at the Pelham Public Library, a part of the Grey Borders Niagara Literary Arts Festival. She will also be reading three selections of poetry at Cafe on Main on June 11th in Fonthill, Ontario and an excerpt from "Passions" at William's Fresh Cafe in Niagara Falls on June13th.

"Passions In Paris" has received rave reviews from readers. Reader Fred Pifer stated the new romance book, "is a fascinating book of a love story that seemed to be written with me in mind. In the book 'Love Story' by Erich Segal, he told of a deep abiding love story that reminds me of Cullen and Joy’s in Ms. Blackwood’s book, but the twists of intrigue and mystery that she adds keeps the reader on edge throughout." Linkk Kulakane said, "Passions in Paris I think stands it ground with these other powerful romantic stories like 'The Notebook' by Nicolas Sparks."

Readers can download the epub version of the book at Smashwords. 'Passions In Paris: Revelations Of A Lost Diary' is also available at Amazon in paperback and Kindle editions, Barnes and Noble in paperback and Nook editions, and Create Space.
