Saving Our Children From A Dire Future - Children's Book Author Dr Nicole Offers The One Solution To The Many Problems Our Children Will Face

Dr. Nicole is a best-selling author, based in Quebec, who writes children’s books that educate, inspire and teach valuable life lessons.

Our children face issues that we have never faced - global warming, potential famine, water shortages and a host of other issues that are not just urgent - they threaten their very existence. Are our children being taught the skills that will allow them to thrive? To survive? How can we prepare our children and grandchildren for situations with which we have had very little or even no experience? How can we show them the way, when we don't even know the way?

Simply put, we must teach them critical thinking skills. For without the ability to solve new unexpected problems, there may be little hope. Rote memorization of facts or test taking skills will accomplish very little in regards to preparing children for the future. It is instead necessary to instill in our children and grandchildren the desire and the ability to solve problems through critical thinking.

Dr. Nicole writes children's books. In the traditions of Walt Disney and Dr. Seuss, Dr. Nicole breathes life into inanimate objects and wildly entertaining characters that engage children in powerful ways. Through parent/child interaction, her works develop a love for reading while helping children develop the most important skill of all - critical thinking. While her children's book are very successful, few people know that she has received international acclaim and awards for books that help adults develop critical thinking skills.

Dr. Nicole holds a Master's Degree in Critical Thinking Evaluation and a Master's Degree in Medical Education - Université Laval. Her thesis was entitled, "How to measure critical reading in medical students." She published the result in two international peer reviewed medical journals.

In 1996 her medical textbook received international acclaim. 'Epidémiologie and Critical Reading for Medical and Health Science Professional Students' was awarded first place by Paris medical magazine Prescire. In 1992 she published 'Read or Not Read: How to Critically Appraise a Medical Study' for medical professionals. In 1993 she published 'How to Run a Medical Journal Club'. In 2007 she published 'How to Write a Scientific Medical Review' for authors to guide them on medical writing. She was also Editor in Chief of a Quebec Medical Magazine that published 120-200 pages on a monthly basis and was distributed 20,000 doctors.

"My true intentions regarding being an author are to inspire children to read, to set their imaginations free and to encourage good decision making regarding health, safety and moral responsibility," Dr. Nicole stated. "Stories and tales are good tools to teach this important skill. Caregivers can discuss about characters, conflicts and the conclusion with young readers who learn how read and think beyond the words. Writing children’s books is a way for me to give back and be a positive source to the community. I hope that my books inspire children to set their minds free and work to make the world a better place."

Dr. Nicole’s children's books have a large number of industry awards. She was recently chosen as one of '50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading' in the 2016 Book Awards'. She also received recognition as one of Quebec's Top 10 Women in a recent ceremony held by the Maman Dion Foundation. The Maman Dion foundation was founded by Thérèse Tanguay-Dion, known as Maman Dion, a television personality and the mother of Céline Dion.

Dr. Nicole has sold over 150,000 books in her career. She is highly regarded for her work with children’s books and a health guide for families. Her goals are to create in children a love for reading and to create interaction and engagement.
