Society in Turmoil: Dr. Richard Ruhling Says We Must Learn To Navigate Faith, Chaos, And Hope Amidst Rising Tensions And Immorality

Dr Ruhling sees climate change, wars, famine, pandemics and violent crimes bringing Biblical End-Times.

With 65-75% of US identifying as Christians, an increasing number wonder what the world is coming to. A teen is sentenced to life in prison for vehicular homicide, and society is torn by factions politically, racially, financially and by religion. Some say Allah will punish the Great Satan (US) and others say Christ will snatch them to heaven. The pre-occupation of illicit lifestyles has millions living torn lives portrayed by Hollywood in an unreal world becoming real, as headlines become increasingly bizarre and readers wonder what the future holds.

Dr. Richard Ruhling is a retired physician in his 80’s and he has seen a lot of life. He believs people are becoming crazy with negative emotions of fear, hate, anxiety, some of it due to drugs, and some due to fictional media they feed on. “The devil made me do it” may be increasingly true for crimes unimaginable. Is there any hope for society?

“Yes and no,” says Ruhling, “depending on choices. These include turning from the negatives of fictional movies and lifestyles of substance abuse (abnormal use of unnatural foods, beverages or drugs). Vegans, for example, may have fewer problems with all of the above than a teenager trying every new thing on a dare.

"Poking a pin in an electrical socket may be normal at 2 or 3, but at 20 or 30, it’s not cool and time to get off the merry-go-round that seeks social approve for wild ideas. Like Step 1 for the Alcoholics Anonymous or Over-eaters Anonymous, people need to admit their lives are unmanageable and come to believe that a Higher Power is needed to restore sanity. Turning our lives over to God as we understand Him may seem radical, but it has worked for countless people and all ages," said Ruhling.

He notes that a junk food diet ruins the body, but healthy food can reverse the process. So it is with our mental diet. The Spanish word for library is biblioteca—bible tech. The Bible is like a library with excellent information on many subjects. History thought to be fiction, like the Exodus of a million people from Egypt to the Promised Land is supported by the finding of chariot wheels under the Red Sea, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JIQ-QAKTqZc&t=10s

Ruhling says he was taught that Moses wrote the first comprehensive health code. Animals to be eaten were carefully inspected and neither the fat nor blood was eaten. That might drop heart disease and cancer from the top of our causes of death today, says Ruhling, adding that prescription drugs are also a major factor for many diseases and death.

Moses also wrote laws that have preserved the Jewish nation in spite of many adversities for centuries. The book of Psalms is an example of poetry that feeds or strengthens emotions and Proverbs has been considered a book excellent for business principles. Daniel’s book on prophecy was cited by Christ when asked about end-times.

Critics who don’t wish to believe the Bible’s claim on their lives say it’s prophecies were written hundreds of years later, but anyone familiar with Daniel can see accuracy that spans 2500 years to our time in Daniel 8:17. “The vision at the time of the end” is a conflict between the political cartoons of a Muslim ram and a goat that flies from the west to breat its horns (militancy) of Medes and Persians that are now Iraq and Iran.

The imagery of a lion, bear, leopard and dragon represent “four kings that shall arise” in end-times. "The lion fits the UK, the bear represented Russia in political cartoons when I was a child," said Ruhling. "The dreadful 4th beast represented Rome and Protestant reformers saw the emergence of a diverse little horn becoming great and doing what the papacy did."

Readers may wonder how we get to end-times from here. Ruhling sees Iran’s nukes and missiles as trouble for Israel cited as victory for Islam in Zechariah 14, but short-lived as they celebrate “Allah has no Son.” Joel 3 says, “The Lord shall roar from Jerusalem…the heavens and earth shall shake” and they will flee, but that earthquake initiates the end-times that we may expect to see soon. A series of events will bring judgment to our world.

Dr. Ruhling is available for speaking engagements and media interviews and can be contacted (below) or by email, ruhling7@juno.com. For more information, visit http://healthhappinessdestiny.com/blog-2.

About Dr. Richard Ruhling:

After Internal Medicine training and board certification, Ruhling had a Cardiology Fellowship before teaching at Loma Linda’s School of Public Health. Attending a cardiology convention, he heard Pritikin reporting how a low fat, low cholesterol diet reversed heart disease and got 85% of patients off their drugs for diabetes and blood pressure. Ruhling developed a Total Health Seminar to help people with positive lifestyle changes to avoid high-risk Rx drugs. At 82, Ruhling claims excellent health and may be contacted by corporations to cut their medical costs, or by churches, book clubs for speaking.

Saving A Generation - The Alarming Dangers Of Social Media That Can Lead To Bullying, Anxiety, Depression And Loneliness, Addressed By Dr Barbara Becker Holstein In New Video

In the tradition of authors like Judy Blume, Dr. Holstein pushes the envelope in covering the challenges girls really face, without sugar coating it or downplaying the feelings or passions young girls experience, regarding things that are important to them at this stage of their development.

Dr. Barbara Becker Holstein's mission is to nurture the resilience and self-esteem of young girls. This effort resonates not only with mental health professionals, but also parents, grandparents, and educators alike. Today however, a formidable obstacle looms large: the pervasive influence of social media. Social media unleashes a host of challenges, making Dr. Holstein's mission more vital and urgent than ever before.

Excessive use of social media can lead to anxiety, depression, and feelings of loneliness and inadequacy, as children may compare themselves to others and face cyberbullying. Children can be targets of online harassment, which can have serious emotional and psychological consequences, affecting their self-esteem and overall mental health. Exposure to idealized and unrealistic images on social media can contribute to body dissatisfaction and unhealthy attitudes toward body image and appearance. Young children may feel pressured to conform to societal standards and engage in risky behaviors to fit in with their peers on social media. There is no end to the negative impacts social media has on young people. Dr. Holstein addressed these challenges in a recent video. In that video, she stated in part:

"When I was in elementary school. There may have been a bully on the playground who said something mean to me once in a while. There may have been a girl in my classroom, or maybe several girls that became a little gang, and when they had a birthday party, I wasn't included. Things like this did happen.

"However, think about the way it happens today. Now, when a young person is bullied, she may be checking social media every few minutes. Hour after hour to see if this person is continuing to bully her. She may even resort to try to hold her cell phone in the bed with her so she can see if anyone is still bullying her. Her life has become totally contaminated with the pressures of realizing that she is being bullied. She can carry that with her for hours and hours and days and weeks. So my advice to you, if you're a parent or responsible for a child, is to be totally involved in what your son or daughter are dealing with on social media. Make sure they understand you are here to help them. And you can. After all, you are a parent, you have every right to monitor what they are seeing and how they want to respond. In fact, it's your responsibility and it will make you feel good to take the responsibility your child will feel safer and it will lead to less extreme problems happening because of social media."

The video can be viewed at https://youtu.be/04MT1SZzqEs.

Dr. Holstein hopes to bring parents, teachers, librarians, grandparents and media together to accomplish one goal: Change in the lives of young people who suffer from anxiety and a growing sense of hopelessness and despair.

Dr. Holstein wraps Positive Psychology concepts in forms of media that young people find engaging, relatable and inspiring. These include:

Four bestselling, award-winning books (perfect for school libraries)

Four self-esteem workbooks for girls 8 and up

Award-winning films and coming of age selfie films

Podcasts

Dedicated websites

Stage plays

A library of articles

Ted-style talks

As a school psychologist and in her private practice, Dr. Holstein has worked with many children and parents, helping them to develop life skills in decision-making, recognition of their own talents, feel more courageous, and helping both kids and parents develop more successful inter-generational skills. Her last book, ‘Conflict and a Bit of Magic’, helps kids build self-esteem though reading the journal of a girl, identifying with the girl, and understanding they have more courage and resiliency than they thought they had. The book is based on the experiences of the already famous “girl” from 'The Truth, Diary of a Gutsy Tween' and 'Secrets, Diary of a Gutsy Teen', and achieved bestseller status in the multi-generational families category.

Dr. Holstein’s latest workbook for kids, ‘Secrets’ achieved bestseller status in the ‘Teen & Young Adult Nonfiction on Depression’ category.

Dr. Holstein's cutting-edge presentations, most recently based on the Covid-19 pandemic issues, can be found on both YouTube, Vimeo and on the Roku channel and Amazon Fire TV, titled as 'The Enchanted Self Presents'.

Dr. Holstein recently created The Selfie Showcase, a new project emerging from The Selfie Project, that allows young people to voice their opinions on subjects that matter to young people, including the pandemic.

The Selfie Showcase allows kids, teens, and young adults ages 13 to 18 to candidly express their concerns, worries, observations and possible solutions by creating selfie videos or films around important subjects using a smartphone. Dr. Holstein's mission is to help rectify, in several ways, some issues young people face by giving them a chance to engage with others in meaningful ways about the anxiety and stress they must grapple with constantly.

Self Esteem And Resilience – How To Help Girls Overcome Depression And Save A Generation

Dr. Barbara Becker Holstein is a best-selling author, award-winning Selfie Filmmaker, Positive Psychologist and podcaster. In all her books and films, Dr Holstein presents positive psychology as entertainment and a means to happiness.

The mental health crisis experienced by young people in the United States has reached an abysmal level. We can blame schools shooting such as the most recent in Nashville (one of many so far this year), we can blame climate change, the pandemic, bullying, the state of education – the list is endless. But the time for blame is past and the time for action is now.

Dr. Barbara Becker Holstein is taking action now to save a generation of girls now. She recently offered a number of ways to mitigate the life-shattering effects of depression in young people:

“One of the effects of the pandemic has been an increase in depression in kids. Recent research suggests even more depression in our girls than our young boys. I've been very concerned about both our boys and girls over the pandemic years, as they have had to endure all sorts of losses and confusions as schools closed, schools went virtual, sports were canceled, proms were canceled, graduations in person were cancelled, etc. Even children as young as 1 year old were affected by the pandemic as they lost valuable time in learning to read facial expressions as people in their lives went around wearing masks.

“I don't think any child in our country went without some level of strain during the last 3 years. I'm concerned about all our children, yet as one professional I can not concentrate on all. My specialty as a positive psychologist is girls and women. And now my concern is helping our girls cope with their mental health coming out of the pandemic years.

“Boys and girls are somewhat different as they go through the stages of growing up. Boys can be thrilled being on a baseball team, while girls can be thrilled taking competitive ballet classes. I'm going to leave boys to another expert, and talk to you a little more about girls. Most girls are social beings. That said, the flow of normal activity has been interrupted for at least 3 years for most girls. Once you take away normal activities to do and look forward to, life can be quite bleak for many girls.

“Now that things are pretty much back to normal in the world at large, it doesn't mean that every girl has just popped into place again. For many girls 3 years was a long time and friends may have fallen away, school may be hard to adjust to, family life may be less stable than before the pandemic, etc. So that's why we have to so carefully watch and help our girls so that we don't miss depressive signs in some of them. Here are things to watch for and suggestions as to help us save our generation of girls:”

1. Anxiety: Anxiety and depression are related. Girls who worry excessively, have difficulty sleeping, or struggle with separation anxiety can be at higher risk for depression.

2. Social media: Even at very young ages, girls now spend a lot of time on social media. While it can be fun and very engaging for them, it can also contribute to feelings of anxiety and depression. Girls who spend a lot of time on social media may be more likely to compare themselves to others and may experience cyberbullying.

3. Bullying: Bullying can have a terrible impact on a young girl's mental health, and girls who are bullied may be more a lot more likely to experience depression.

4. Peer pressure: Most girls experience pressure from their peers to fit in, which may lead to them engaging in risky behaviors. This can also be a source of stress and anxiety, which may contribute to feelings of depression.

5. Loneliness: Girls who feel lonely or disconnected from others (such as during the pandemic) may be more likely to experience depression. This can occur if a young girl experiences significant life changes, such as moving to a new school.

“We have to remember that every girl is unique and may experience depression for many different reasons. By understanding these risk factors, parents, grandparents and even educators can take steps to support their mental health.

“What can we do to help them?

“There are many ways that we can help young girls cope with these challenges.”

1. Validate their feelings: All girls need to feel heard and understood. When they express their feelings, it is important to acknowledge those feelings and let them know that it's okay to feel that way.

2. Provide support: Girls who feel safe and loved are better equipped to deal with stress and challenges. Create an environment where children can feel comfortable expressing themselves.

3. Encourage healthy habits: Exercise, good sleep, and healthy eating habits can all contribute to better mental health for girls. Encourage them to engage in physical activity, get enough sleep, and eat right.

4. Teach coping skills: Coping techniques can all of us manage our feelings of anxiety and stress.

5. Seek professional help if needed: If a child's anxiety or depression is causing problems or interferes with their day to day life, it may be helpful to seek professional support.

6. Address bullying and peer pressure: Parents and others should be aware of any signs of bullying and take action to address the situation. This may include talking to teachers or maybe teaching them assertiveness skills.

By taking these steps, we can help girls build resilience, self-esteem and help them to cope with the challenges of growing up.

Dr. Holstein hopes to bring parents, teachers, librarians, grandparents and media together to accomplish one goal: Change in the lives of young people who suffer from anxiety and a growing sense of hopelessness and despair.

Five New Self-Esteem Workbooks For Girls Age 8 And Up Now Available From Dr. Barbara Becker Holstein

Dr. Barbara Becker Holstein is a best-selling author, award-winning Selfie Filmmaker, Positive Psychologist and podcaster. In all her books and films, Dr Holstein presents positive psychology as entertainment and a means to happiness.

It is vitally important for teens to build self-esteem, as it has a significant impact on their mental health, social relationships, and overall well-being.  Positive self-esteem leads to better mental health, a positive self-image, resilience, and an improved overall outlook on life. Self-esteem and resilience are needed to help kids navigate life’s challenges. Nothing is more important.

Dr. Barbara Becker Holstein has released a series of five books that help girls, age 8 and up, begin to develop both self-esteem and resilience. There are five books in the series. In each, the reader is offered an opportunity to develop her creative talents and potential as she processes and better understands the angst of growing up and how it can be successfully handled. The reader can bring her own talents to her thoughts and responses to the issues presented, which will further take her along a road of enhanced resilience and better self-esteem.

"The recent research about girls recently astounds most of us," Dr. Holstein stated. "Is it possible that a high percentage of our girls are depressed, and even suicidal? Parents, teachers, guidance counselors, pediatricians, psychologists, social workers, school principals, grandparents, TV interviewers, and more - suddenly we are all in shock. How could this happen? Yes, we’ve lived through a pandemic, yes schooling was a bit chaotic and more or less than adequate for parts of the pandemic, but could schools be the whole answer? Or maybe it’s the fault of the internet and social media? Or is it the fault of climate change and the anxiety kids feel wondering if the world as they know it will exist when they have kids? Or is it the rage and often mental illness that leads to school lock downs and children dying in the classroom? Or is it the way policemen handle the public? Of course, maybe absolutely yes, maybe absolutely no. What are we left with in the middle of the night when we are frightened for our kids and your kids and the earth and the future for all of us?

"Perhaps a combination of factors, perhaps all of the above in bits and pieces. Actually, I believe there is no one place to place the blame. As a psychologist for over 40 years in both schools and private practice, I believe that, rather than looking for whom to shame or blame, we must look at how we can save our generation of kids. I often focus on girls, as I believe they have been understudied over the years, and less research has been done to understand what girls and women need to thrive. Perhaps for innocent reasons, as women are extremely complex (as any woman or husband can probably verify).

"Also, women historically have been left out of government, engineering, becoming doctors, even religious leaders, etc. over hundreds of years. The research I have done over the years with girls and adult women has shown that girls and women thrive when they can live up to their potential, their dreams, their talents. That is why when I reviewed the recent research about our girls, I immediately came to the conclusion that as a positive psychologist what I can offer millions of girls and their parents is how to handle important subjects in a way that reduces pain and brings families together rather than apart. How could I do this fast?

"A slow way I have already been doing is podcasts where I’ve invited guests on my show, "The Enchanted Self Presents: Tweens, Teens, Young Adults," as well as teachers, climate experts, school principals, psychologists, parents, and grandparents. We’ve talked about shootings, lock downs, the climate, and more. Actually, these podcasts led to my Selfie Project, which is bringing a voice to kids, tweens, teens, and young adults. I made a documentary film about The Selfie Project where four teenage girls share what is really on their minds and what could help them.

"All of the above have been helpful and made a difference, but for this moment in time, I needed more, and I needed a fast way to bring information and some relief to girls and their families. Aha, how about workbooks? And now, there are five of them in print, ready to be used by girls, their parents, their grandparents, their teachers, and others.

"Each book is designed to cover subjects that pop up again and again in most families and for most girls growing up. The first book, "Angst," covers a lot of the rage and moods that go with puberty. The second book, 'Secrets', covers many adolescent issues, feelings, and thoughts. The third book, "I'm Smart," helps girls recognize their talents, strengths, and potential, while the fourth workbook, "Changes," tackles more aspects of issues on girls' minds as they start to date, are emotionally challenged, and continue to come of age in a complex society. The first four books offer pages where the girl can draw, keep notes, write a short play, become creative, or even make a selfie film. The last book is less of a workbook and more of a fun opportunity to bond with siblings, friends, parents, and grandparents while talking about subjects brought up.

"All of these five books include access to some of my selfie films that I have made to help all of us deal with coming of age, whether our own or someone we love who is 50 years younger than us or my three books for girls that, in diary form, include many upbeat ways to solve situations we face in life as we mature.

"I rushed these books to print as I believe we need solutions coming from many people from all different backgrounds and training. We are on a fast train that may not have safe brakes. I’m riding it, and so are you. This is what I’m offering our girls and parents today. What can you offer today, tomorrow, next week? Can we save our generation of girls? I say yes, but we all must pitch in."

Whether she is writing and directing award-winning selfie films, publishing bestselling books, creating podcasts or stage plays, the driving force behind everything she does is to help people, particularly young people and women, become more resilient and build a strong sense of self-worth.

The result is the creation of films which people of all ages, from children to teens, to parents and grandparents can enjoy and use to discuss issues which people of all ages can relate to and enjoy and more forward to discuss better ways and approaches to dealing with difficult coming of age issues and decisions.

Her approach has resulted in films that have placed or been awarded over 125 times.

Three Bestselling, award-winning books (perfect for school libraries)

Award-winning films and selfie films

"I am also making my latest film 'Lock Down' available to parents and educators," Dr. Holstein stated. "We have no time to waste in dealing with the safety of our kids, physically and emotionally. I hope 'Lock Down' will help generate the type of compassionate concern and connection that moves us as a society to thoughtful and timely solutions."

In addition, Dr. Holstein was one of five people chosen this year for the Wall of Honor at Norwalk High, her alma mater in Norwalk Connecticut, by the Norwalk High School Alumni Association.

As a school psychologist and in her private practice, Dr. Holstein has worked with many children and parents, helping them to develop life skills in decision-making, recognition of their own talents, feel more courageous, and helping both kids and parents develop more successful inter-generational skills. The Rain Falls On The Just And The Unjust, New Inspirational Christian Book, Announced By Bestselling Author Donna Louis

Louis is the bestselling author of three inspirational Christian books. Louis’ books reveal God’s desire for our happiness and joy.

The stressors we face today can be overwhelming. While mass shootings and police brutality form the lion's share of our current, insanely negative headlines, there is much more all of us must deal with day in and day out. Political conflicts in the US are at an all-high. Inflation is hitting everyone, creating even more unnecessary stress. As always, we must deal with ongoing natural disasters like drought and climate change. High profile wars, marches and violent protests by groups that feel marginalized or oppressed, the ongoing effects of Covid - how do we handle such an onslaught of negative news?

Christians have always turned to their faith. Prayer, reading the Bible, spiritual counseling, group projects and gratitude form the core strategies for people of faith. Now we have another resource that can help Christians make sense of the world and transform these situations into pathways to gratitude.

Bestselling author Donna Louis has announced the release of a new book, 'The Rain Falls On The Just And The Unjust', that can help us find peace in the midst of adversity.

As much as Christians or believers of God would like to believe that just because we acknowledge God in our lives, we should never have any sorrow, it is untrue. We will all have challenges, disappointments, and unfair situations arise in our lives but, as believers of God, we are to handle ourselves so that unbelievers will want to become like us. We are to trust, have faith and believe that God has our back and will keep us lifted above, fight our battles, and always cause us to Triumph.

This book follows the release of her best selling motivational book, Book of Proverbs, Proverbs For The Modern Day. Book of Proverbs recently ranked #1 in Best Sellers for Christian Inspirational, #1 in Best Sellers for Christian Devotionals, and #2 in Best Sellers for Christian Spiritual Growth. The book received a 5 star rating from Readers Favorite.

Donna Louis added, “I have told you these things so you may have peace in Me. In the world you will have much trouble. But take hope! I have power over the world! – John 16:33. The same way in which a conductor–maestro directs an orchestra, that is the way God directs our steps. He knows the plans that he has for us and the glorious future he wants to give us. If we would just communicate with God via prayer and spend time in his presence, since his greatest desire is to have fellowship with us, we would enjoy the greatest lives even in the challenging times when the rain falls on the just and the unjust. What we need to do is just like the patrons of the arts and music do when they attend a concert. We just need to settle into our seats, get comfortable, and enjoy the presentation. If we would just allow God to keep control of the baton, the same way the conductor of an orchestra does, we would have a wonderful life.”

'The Rain Falls On The Just And The Unjust' is available at Amazon at https://www.amazon.com/stores/Donna-Louis/author/B00P5Z3OV2?ref=ap_rdr&store_ref=ap_rdr&isDramIntegrated=true&shoppingPortalEnabled=true.

If you are struggling with daily life itself or maybe even deeper issues like suicide, anxiety, hopelessness, and depression these books will help you. Surprisingly, the answer to these and many other challenges have been around for thousands of years. If you're looking for hope, peace, happiness, prosperity, wisdom, and the fullness of life, look no further.

'Book Of Proverbs: Proverbs For The Modern Day' delves deeply into the timeless human quest for wisdom. As all Christians know, the primary purpose of the Biblical Book of Proverbs is to teach wisdom. The Book of Proverbs provides intellectual depth, insights, and exceptional wisdom on how to live a meaningful, joyful and tranquil life by honoring and respecting God as omnipotent.

This updated version of 'Book Of Proverbs: Proverbs For The Modern Day', discusses all chapters in Proverbs 1-31 and brings insight, clarity, and basic meaning to several verses in each chapter. It clarifies why wisdom is not only essential, but mandatory in life, if one hopes to live a blessed life, versus living destitute, empty, or feeling lost or hopeless. The book is rated 4.9 on Amazon. One reviewer stated, "If you want to gain wisdom this book is yours. Great book."

Donna Louis’ previous best-selling book, ‘Thriving in Every Season of Life with God’, gives us a road map to create a mindset - a new life in which we can learn to prosper in any circumstance, however dire. This book achieved bestseller status in two categories: Spiritual Self Help and Motivational Self Help.

To understand what it means to "thrive," we must look beyond the dimension of finances. The concept of thriving can be applied to our health, our relationships, our habits and our peace of mind. God wants us to thrive. But it does not just happen - we must take action to make it happen.

Set against the backdrop of four "seasons of life", Louis, in the tradition of writers such as Joel Osteen and Joyce Meyer, discusses how you can thrive, prosper, and flourish. Much like growing crops, we prepare in spring, grow in summer, harvest in fall and rest in winter. At times, we must nurture and cultivate, at other times we bloom and reproduce, and at other times we harvest and replant.

'Thriving In Every Season Of Life With God' is a book that can be read in just a few hours and provides readers with powerful ideas and concepts that can be implemented immediately, allowing them to thrive in the midst of adversity. The book received a five-star rating from Readers Favorite.

Donna Louis' first book, 'Miracles of Direction, Miracles of Conquest, Miracles of Provision and Miracles of Purpose' helps readers explore miracles both past and present. The book explores biblical miracles that took place while Jesus was here on earth. She then references with miracles that take place on a daily basis in the modern world. She separates these miracles into four categories and presents insightful examples of each type, taken directly from the Bible.

Louis knows her subject well, as she has personally experienced four miracles. As the result of those life-altering experiences, she began an in-depth study of some of Christianity's most well-documented miracles. In her book, she attempts to expand upon and explain both the purpose and the direction of those miracles.

Louis has won a number of industry awards. She was chosen as the winner in the 2018 Top Female Author Awards in the Religion/Philosophy/Spiritual category. Louis was chosen from an international field of contestants by a panel of judges. She was also a winner in the 2018 50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading Awards.

Louis' recent wins follow three awards in the 50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading Awards contest (2015, 2016 and 2017), and two nominations in the Top Female Authors Awards.

'Miracles' has received rave reviews from readers. One review called it "amazing, uplifting and inspirational". Another stated, "I was profoundly impressed by the writing."

Choosing Gratitude Is The Key To Finding Joy During Difficult Times Says Louise Pistole, Best Selling Author Of Discover Your Joy

Pistole’s bestselling book, Discover Your Joy, also received Honorable Mention in the San Francisco Book Festival and placed in the BookFest Book Awards

For some people it’s not easy to find joy today. The headlines scream at us about US political unrest, social divisions, mass shootings, hurricanes, floods, war in Europe, inflation in the US, RSV, Covid – the list is endless. Where is the joy in all of that? Surprisingly, right under our noses. And bestselling author Louise Pistole can show us how to find it.

“Life has its ups and downs, but sometimes challenging events occur all at once. When our world is turned upside down, it’s normal to feel a lack of joy.

“Most adults will experience multiple severe traumas and losses throughout their lives. Loss of joy in these contexts is a natural part of the human experience.

“For some people, however, the lack of joy persists or appears out of the blue. This may occur in a mood disorder like depression.” – Stephanie Collier, MD, MPH, Contributor to Harvard Health Publishing, Harvard Medical School.

Pistole says, “During these stressful times, I encourage others to look for ‘moments of joy’ in everyday places in your day. Hold onto these moments and commit them to memory. Remembering and reliving even small moments will bring you back to your joyful center.

“Life doesn’t have to be perfect to be filled with joy. Even on tough days when you’re struggling, you have the ability to find your own joy. You just have to make a conscious decision to turn your day around.

“Remember, you are the master of your own joy!

Choosing Gratitude is your pathway to Choosing Joy!

“If you can find a few moments every day to express gratitude, you will soon see your life make a change in a positive direction. As simple as this idea is, it is also sometimes difficult to be grateful when everything in your life seems to be packed full of negativity.

“One of the simplest ideas is to say ‘thank you’ every morning as soon as you wake up. You can follow up with a few things you are grateful for which increases the gratitude in your heart. But just saying those two words, ‘thank you,’ will definitely start your day off on solid footing.

“Gradually ease yourself into writing a gratitude list in a journal. Don’t overthink it. Just write whatever comes to mind.

“This is also a good time to get your kids involved with gratitude. Teach them to say ‘thank you’ for any blessing, large or small, that comes their way.

“As you begin to make gratitude a habit, you will find that the more grateful you are, the more good things will come your way.

“This simple habit of being grateful is truly your pathway to joy.

Hope Anchors Your Soul

“Joy doesn’t simply happen. You have to intentionally ‘choose joy,’ and you have to choose to be joyful every day. It comes from a light deep within your soul. Joy really is a state of mind.

“How do you reclaim your JOY when you’re struggling with a tough day or situation? Start by refusing to let negative thoughts take root in your mind, then choose a better feeling activity.

“Hope is being positive under circumstances that are considered to be desperate. It is during the storms of our lives that we need to maintain our positive thoughts and cling to hope.

“Hope can heal the hurt or pain deep inside of you. It allows you to see the light even on the darkest days. It gives you courage, determination, and perseverance to cope and move forward. Your current problems seem less difficult to bear as you follow your beacon of hope.

“Through gratitude, positive thoughts, and hope, joy can be yours.”

Moving from anxiety, depression, or trauma to living a life of joy may seem impossible. How does one actually live a life filled with joy? Author and motivational speaker Louise Pistole has discovered the key to doing just that. She gives us that key in her best-selling book, 'Discover Your Joy: Daily Splashes of Inspiration for Living an Abundant Life of Happiness, Blessings, and Inner Peace'. It is a book unlike any other you will ever read.

While many of us believe that happiness is found at the end of some long, arduous process, it is instead that we begin from a state of joy. Some of us have it backwards. Joy is not a reward - it is a choice. And because it is a choice, it is something over which we hold total control. That choice can be made now - today.

Many of us feel hopeless and joyless. Perhaps our intentions are out of alignment with our actions. Surprisingly we can live in joy every day of our lives, but again - it is a choice.

"I made my choice one Sunday morning about 12 years ago when my minister spoke about being joyful and watching out for joy-stealers," Pistole stated. "His message resonated with me and I began my journey to joy through reading, studying, and writing. As I began choosing joy day after day, it gradually became a habit in my life. Now my mission is to guide others to discover their own joy through these daily inspirational readings."

In Discover Your Joy, readers will:

• Enjoy daily inspiration for happiness and joyfulness,
• Learn how to live an abundant life filled with gratitude, hope, and joy,
• Discover inner peace through encouraging words,
• Discover how to become a Joy-Fanatic and enjoy one's best life.

A quick inspirational read every morning helps readers discover ‘moments of joy’ each day. Chock full of encouragement and motivation, readers will learn to seek and experience gratitude, hope, and true joy.

Readers and reviewers alike have praised 'Discover Your Joy'. One said, "Each page in "Discover Your Joy" is a simple and beautiful reminder that the world may not be perfect, there will always be the ups and the downs, but we have the ability to CHOOSE each day how we will use this gift we call life. I highly recommend this book!!" Another stated, "Pistole gives great insight into ways to remind us that our joy is important and to beware of “joy stealers”. This book is a great way to start your mornings with a great cup of coffee and to discover your joy each and every day!"

Resilience And Self-Esteem Are The Essential Ingredients Needed For Happiness Says Best Selling Author, Award Winning Film Maker Dr. Barbara Becker Holstein

Dr. Barbara Becker Holstein is a best-selling author, award-winning Selfie Filmmaker, Positive Psychologist and podcaster. In all her books and films, Dr Holstein presents positive psychology as entertainment and a means to happiness.

We hear a lot about resilience and self-esteem these days. We all are born with some degree of these attributes. However as we face adversaries in life most of us need to enhance our capacities for resilience and self-esteem.

Helping us acquire and utilize more of these two extremely valuable traits is what Dr. Holstein's work is all about. Helping us have more self-esteem and resilience, resulting in more successful decision making and utilization of our unique talents and potential is her life mission and vision.

Whether she is writing and directing award-winning selfie films, publishing bestselling books, creating podcasts or stage plays, the driving force behind everything she does is to help people, particularly young people, become more resilient and build a strong sense of self-worth.

Dr. Holstein's selfie films, created to encourage resilience and build self-esteem, often focusing on coming of age issues, stand apart from other films in the genre for many reasons, but the primary reason is that she allows the young actress to make many decisions - from wardrobe to interpretation of parts of the script to filming many scenes with her smartphone. The result is the creation of films which people of all ages, from children to teens, to parents and grandparents can enjoy and use to discuss issues which people of all ages can relate to and enjoy and more forward to discuss better ways and approaches to dealing with difficult coming of age issues and decisions.

Her approach has resulted in films that have placed or been awarded over 100 times.

"Hundreds, if not thousands of people will be affected by a school shooting," Dr. Holstein stated. "Survivors, teachers, administration, the local communities. But it does not stop there. All school age children will be experiencing heightened levels of anxiety, some so severe it will be akin to soldiers waiting to engage in a battle. That level of anxiety is not normal. For some, just attending classes may be overwhelming. There is a national emergency for youth mental health. Between 2016 and 2020, the number of children ages 3 to 17 who were diagnosed with anxiety grew by 29% and those with depression by 27%. We must all take action to deal with this, and we must be prepared to do this long term."

Three Bestselling, award-winning books (perfect for school libraries)

The Selfie Project

Award-winning films and selfie films

"I am making my latest film 'Lock Down' available to parents and educators," Dr. Holstein stated. "We have no time to waste in dealing with the safety of our kids, physically and emotionally. In addition, Dr. Holstein was one of five people chosen this year for the Wall of Honor at Norwalk High, her alma mater in Norwalk Connecticut, by the Norwalk High School Alumni Association.

"Let us never forget how hard it has been for women to have access to ways to develop their full potential. I know this first hand as without two encouraging parents, both in education for their life work, I probably would have ended up in a little house with a white picket fence, perhaps doing some volunteer work. Instead, I am now receiving an award on the Norwalk High School Alumni Association Wall of Honor as a person who has done outstanding work in my field over a number of years. Wow, I'm honored and also still determined to help people around the world come into their own professionally and personally by understanding their 'Enchanted Self' and what it means to let that part of themselves develop. Perhaps you would like to know more about finding your Enchanted Self and how that can help you move forward in life? Please listen or read my speech I delivered at the Wall of Honor 26th Awards Program."

As a school psychologist and in her private practice, Dr. Holstein has worked with many children and parents, helping them to develop life skills in decision-making, recognition of their own talents, feel more courageous, and helping both kids and parents develop more successful inter-generational skills. If We Don't Find Joy In Our Daily Lives, We Might Be Looking In The Wrong Place Says Louise Pistole, Author Of Bestselling Book, Discover Your Joy

Pistole is a best-selling author, blogger, coach and motivational speaker who describes herself as a "joy-fanatic". Her book provides readers with a quick inspirational read every morning and helps them discover ‘moments of joy’ each day.

As we get older some of us seem to lose the sense of wonder, happiness and joy we experienced as young children. Where did it go? As adults, the pressures we face day after day - job stresses, dealing with health issues, money issues, children, parents, the pandemic, rising inflation and a host of other challenges and problems - can wear us down and wear us out. The world seems to get darker and harder to navigate. At some point, we realize we have lost it. And we naturally blame "the world" and the challenges it hands us day after day.

But is it possible we are looking for the answer in the wrong place?

Greg Bishop, in an article written about athlete Athing Mu, wrote the following in Sports Illustrated:

“Athing Mu, the 20-year-old middle-distance runner from New Jersey who specializes in what’s arguably the sport’s most brutal race. There’s not even a lot of argument. The task: sprint almost as hard as she can, for two full laps around the track, saving enough energy to separate over the final 100 meters but not so much that she’s not in position to separate at all.

That’s precisely where Mu’s other specialty comes in. She runs while exuding an emotion that’s rarely displayed in track, at least not during a race. It’s a simple concept—and yet, an elusive one. It’s what separates her from other elite competitors—and what will power her drive to break a controversial world record that has stood for 39 years.

It’s joy.”

"The joy that resonates and motivates Mu is available to everyone," says Louise Pistole, self-professed joy fanatic and author of the bestselling book 'Discover Your Joy: Daily Splashes of Inspiration for Living an Abundant Life of Happiness, Blessings, and Inner Peace'. "However, not everyone chooses to live in joy on a daily basis."

"If this is a simple concept, exactly what is it?" Pistole offers the following in response:

We must choose joy and we must choose it every day in order to experience this life-defining all-encompassing emotion. Joy is our natural default but it gets lost in the busyness of everyday life.

There are many ways to bring joy into our lives but the easiest path is through gratitude. The more grateful we are, the more joyful we will also be. As we go about our day, it is easy to say, “I am grateful for my nutritious breakfast. My car has plenty of gas. Traffic is light today. My boss is in a great mood.”

While it is easy to say these things, we get busy and distracted and don’t follow through with gratitude every day. Without regular gratitude, it’s hard to obtain the status of joyful. And that is why the emotion of joy is elusive.

Here are some other suggestions of ways to move into the joyful state that inspires Mu:

1. Start the day by reading a devotional or inspirational book. Take time for prayer or meditation.

2. Make gratitude a part of your morning routine. Make a list of a few things you are grateful for or say thank you out loud and think of some of your blessings.

3. Choose to be around other positive people and avoid the negative naysayers.

4. Take time for yourself whether it be reading a book, taking a walk, or getting to bed early. Your body, mind, and spirit all need this reprieve from the stresses of everyday life.

5. Spend time with family, friends, and those who love you. They are your tribe and they will always be there for you. The hugs, smiles, and laughter are all so good for you.

6. Do all the healthy things – eat nutritious meals, drink plenty of water, and get regular exercise. You will not feel joyful if you’re not feeling well most of the time.

7. Get out in nature as often as possible. The trees, flowers, bees, and water all help your mind and spirit to reconnect to the earth. You will feel revived, and again, more joyful.

If you’re not an athlete running sprints on a track, what are the benefits of living a joyful life?

1. Joy releases all the feel-good hormones into our bodies.

2. It makes us more resilient.

3. We will feel more positive.

4. Joy inspires us to be more loving, kinder, and to do good things for other people.

5. But one of the biggest benefits of being joyful is a sense of connection. We feel more connected to ourselves, to those we care about, and the world we live in.

No matter where we are in life, there are many benefits to seeking joy and many ways of finding joy. We all have to figure out what works best for us and reach for the gold.

Discover Your Joy

How does one actually live a life filled with joy? Best-selling author and motivational speaker Louise Pistole has discovered the key to doing just that. She gives us that key in her best-selling book, 'Discover Your Joy: Daily Splashes of Inspiration for Living an Abundant Life of Happiness, Blessings, and Inner Peace'. It is a book unlike any other you will ever read. ‘Discover Your Joy’ was awarded Honorable Mention in the Spiritual/Religious Category at the 2022 San Francisco Book Festival

The Rain Falls On The Just And The Unjust - Bestselling Author Donna Louis Announces New Inspirational Christian Book, New Motivational Video Lineup

Louis is the bestselling author of three inspirational Christian books. Louis’ books reveal God’s desire for our happiness and joy.

Bestselling author Donna Louis has announced a new upcoming book, The Rain Falls On The Just And The Unjust.

Some Christians believe that just because they acknowledge God in their lives, they should never have any sorrow. That is untrue. We will all have challenges, disappointments, and unfair situations arise in our lives but as believers in God, we are to trust, have faith, and believe that God has our back and will keep us lifted above, fight our battles, and always allow us to triumph. Every stressful situation that we encounter is a test. We must pass these tests and when we do, God will take us to the next level.

That is the core message of her new book, expected to be released later in 2022.

If you are struggling with daily life itself or maybe even deeper issues like suicide, anxiety, hopelessness, and depression these books will help you. Surprisingly, the answer to these and many other challenges have been around for thousands of years. If you're looking for hope, peace, happiness, prosperity, wisdom, and the fullness of life look no further.

Louis also announced she has posted four new videos on her Motivational Monday Youtube channel at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCJCieSU2FYdC09F3YNkfzDw. The four new videos are titled:

Pass The Test
If You're Going Through Hell Keep Going
The Rain Falls On The Just And The Unjust
The Half Way Point

Book Of Proverbs, Proverbs For The Modern Day By Bestselling Author Donna Louis Helps Us Cope Mentally With Challenges Such As Inflation, War, School Shootings, Political Unrest And Climate Change

Louis is the bestselling author of three inspirational Christian books. Louis’ books reveal God’s desire for our happiness and joy.

It has been said there is nothing new under the sun - but that statement can sometimes be misleading. Yes, we have always been forced to deal with war - but not the threat of nuclear war. We have always been affected by murder - but not the murder of innocent school children. So while form may change over time, generally the content does not.

The Book of Proverbs has been popular with Christians for centuries for it's penetrating wisdom and rock-solid advice in learning how to trust God when attempting to negotiate the madness on Earth. Those verses however, written thousands of years ago, can seem dated when viewed in context of modern day issues. That is where Donna Louis' bestselling Christian book, Book of Proverbs, Proverbs for the Modern Day, can be of real value. Donna recently issued a statement in which she addressed how the Book of Proverbs can be applied to today's challenges:

"Let’s face it - right now the world appears to be a scary place," Louis stated. "However, if you believe in God, you have no reason to fear. It is just a matter of changing your perspective and making a shift in your thought process. The only fear you should have is a fear of the Lord and that should only be a reverential fear. Reverential meaning - expressing or having a quality of reverence, honor or respect felt or shown. God says in his word, 'The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.' - Proverbs 14;27.

"Technology has changed the world; cars can drive themselves and we are now moving into a culture of plant-based foods and so, over time, nearly everything changes. However, we need not be afraid. We need to take the time we spend on worrying and stressing out and instead apply that time to prayer and press into God. He did say, 'The fear of the Lord tendeth to life: and he that hath it shall abide satisfied; he shall not be visited with evil.' – Proverbs 19:23.

"Why don’t we take him at his word and remember all his blessings and goodness?"

'Book of Proverbs - Proverbs For The Modern Day' provides a summary of Proverbs and Proverbs quotes, layered with examples of how these concepts can be applied to modern day issues. The book achieved #1 Best Selling status within 10 days of its release in Christian Devotionals and Christian Inspirational. It received a 5-star rating from Readers Favorite.

If you are struggling with daily life itself or maybe even deeper issues like hopelessness and depression, this book will help you. If you're looking for hope, peace, happiness, prosperity, wisdom, and the fullness of life, look no further.
